Ordered a chimichanga, but they gave me a burrito. Was not impressed at all with this place.

I had the breakfast chorizo special and it was good. I'm more inclined to try others but it was great to have a treat like this out in Homer Alaska

Desperate for a meal I saw this place and couldn't resist. Really excellent Mexican food and quite a nice price for being at the end of the earth. Alaskan beer selection and the salsa bar. All the salsas tasted freshly made, I tried most of them. And the people that work there are great. I would return to eat here for sure.

We had a great breakfast here on the last day we spent in Homer. I had the blueberry pancakes and my wife enjoyed the Big Bang burrito. Coffee was good but not overly hot. Price was right as well. Here on a Wednesday and were the only ones in the restaurant.

Cannot say enough good things. Every dish is excellent. The staff is very friendly. I am now a repeat customer!

All six of us South Carolina fans loved this place. We had our Carolina shirts on and one of the staff took our pic with her! Food was great. Burritos and cosmic breakfast were awesome. Coffee too! When in Homer, you NEED to try this place!

Very friendly staff but cosmic bowls were just OK for the high AK prices--mostly ice burg lettuce with chicken or ground beef. The Greek bowl was better. Cute place.

Looking for an enjoyable meal In Homer without the lofty price tag? Try the Big Bang breakfast burrito smothered in salsa with a freshly brewed cup of Joe. The word is the biscuits and gravy evoke such an enlightened sensation of culinary nirvana that patrons often walk away confused as to whether they've just eaten their food or had sex with it.

Came here for breakfast and what a good choice. They have the basic traditional fare and Mexican breakfast items. Try anything with the enchilada sauce, it is awesome. Local beers on tap and outdoor seating.

Albert Einstein defines Insanity as doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results. If that's true, then I must be insane when it comes to Cosmic Kitchen. Perhaps it's the lack of choices when it comes to eating in Homer. Perhaps it's just that I've lived in cities where a restaurant that serves average food doesn't stay open long. I've had everything on the "Mexican" portion of the menu. The Mexican food is about authentic as that served at Taco Bell. The burritos suffer from multiple personalities. All the burritos are covered in enchilada sauce. Is it a burrito? Is it an enchilada. I doubt Freud would be able to help solve this one. On my latest visit, perhaps because I've finally realized that there was nothing exceptional on the Mexican menu, I opted for the Philly Cheesesteak. It used chunks of meat, rather than the traditional thin sliced meat. The cheese was a good choice. Provolone. A nice mild, neutral cheese that doesn't overwhelm the other ingredients. As I are the first half of the sandwich, the onions were difficult to find. I found myself opening up the sandwich, thinking the cooks had left off the onions, as I ordered it without the peppers and tomatoes. As it turns out, most of the onions were on the second half of my sandwich. I love onions, so the second half was better than the first, but I suspect to some, it would be overwhelming. Sadly, after each visit, I find myself questioning why I continue to stop there for lunch as often as I do. Perhaps, it's because I hold the hope that they have something that will make me say WOW. Something that turns into a regular choice. But if it does exist, sadly, I have yet to find it.

Awesome food with a friendly staff. We came here to grab food on our last day before driving back to Anchorage. Breakfast burritos: Awesome. It's not on the menu but I recommend getting it with chorizo. Delicious. We also had the soup of the day, a smoked salmon chowder. That was the best chowder I had while in Homer.

Great spot that was recommended to us by all of the locals. Reasonably priced, and delicious food. I got the salmon burger and it was great. Generous fillet and very tasty. I was slightly disappointed that they were out of the special which was a green curry rockfish.

I take my nephews here when they visit. The menu is kid friendly and they have a separate menu for kids too. Yummy breakfast frittata, burritos and falafel sandwich. A lot of variety and friendly service!

Boyfriend liked the meat in the "Biscuits and Gravy"; we both appreciated the hash in our breakfast meals. I would stay away from the "Chorizo Scramble". The cheese and chorizo tasted old and plasticy. Great service, though.

OMG it's amazing. food was amazing. there is so much to choose from on the menu that you could eat here the whole time you're in homer.

I had the 3 French toast breakfast, and it was hands down the best french toast I've ever had..... honest. It was super filling, but delicious. I opted out of the side of meat (bacon, sausage, etc) and that confused the staff a bit, but after a few questions to the kitchen they deemed that I could have home fries instead! Other than my meal, the atmosphere is bright and colorful, but a bit much if you're sleepy or wanting to relax. It's a fun place, but not somewhere I'd want to hang out or bring a date, unless they were a foodie too. Food is 5 stars, everything else is a 3...

I can only speak to the mexican moca and lil chorizo breakfast burrito. Both pretty awesome. If only we had more time in Homer to check out the rest of the menu.

Eh, nothing here is too good in my opinion. I've tried breakfast plates, mexican, and more. All of it seems to be pretty low-quality food. Seems like they picked up the chicken (in their burritos) from those little pre-cut junky strips from Safeway. Pretty displeasing.

This was a perfect place for us to get sandwiches before our hike in Kachemak State Park. My bf got the Chicken Tikka with Chutney & I had the turkey/avocado. Maybe a bit on the pricey side for sandwiches ($8.50), but pretty darn tasty (and very portable).

I liked it. Ya it was crowded and some things on the menu I'd never order... but what I did have was great. What was it? A chicken chimichanga. Big. Cheesy. Sour cream and guac on the side. A local we met at the playground earlier in the week recommended the chimi to me and she definitely steered me in the right direction. My wife had a fish taco and didn't like it. I tried it as well and ya... what's up with all the oregano seasoning? Overwhelmingly seasoned with oregano.

Everyone in Homer LOVES Cosmic. You can't go wrong on their HUGE menu. All of the seafood is fresh caught and amazingly prepared. The chef knows his stuff and has won a bunch of awards. They've been in Homer for 10 years and every year improve their food, restaurant, and atmosphere.

My wife and I live near Homer so we've been eating here since it opened and have never been disappointed in their food or friendliness.

Pseudo-Mexican food made by hippies and covered in goop and cheese. Not sure the owners have ever tried Mexican food. What more is there to say.

Best breakfast in 8 days in ak! So good we doubled down n ate here twice in a row. We both got french toast with eggs n meat (him bacon, me ham) on day 1. On day 2 he was smitten enough by the french toast to get it again, I tried the blueberry pancakes with eggs n ham. Everything tastes like it was made with pride, care, n love (unlike much of the other greasy generic crap we found). Also, the prices were beyond reasonable - First day for the two of us it came to $24 for two huge french toast bfasts, a mango-banana smoothie, and a coffee.

Ate here after a "photography morning" back in March, '09, and just returned for lunch the other day now that we're "living here" for the month of August. The huevos rancheros and french toast are AWEsome, as well as the burritos and even the veggie burger (comes with avocado). Think twice, though, about bringing a computer to do any work/surf the 'net...They charge an extra $3.00 to plug into their outlets...

The one on the spit closed and is now a munchies or something, but the Cosmic Kitchen in Homer proper is still fabulous. Great burritos! A must stop for any visit to Homer. Sometimes they have wierd hours though. We stopped on a Sunday afternoon in the middle of summer and it wasn't open. Sad.

I was in Homer Alaska doing to halibut fishing. I met a cowoker in Homer to fish for Halibut and salmon. He suggested Cosmic Kitchen. I had the Blacken Prime Rib. Wow it melted in my mouth. The flavors were superb. My fishing friend had the wasabi Halibut. He said it was great. That had a great menu with a special of the day selection. I heard the burritos were very good also.

We were on the Homer Spit and needed a quick and easy lunch and stumbled on Cosmic Kitchen. We were pleasantly surprised and the menu with a nice selection of items (not the standard fried fish, hamburgers, and more fried fish of the spit). Though they do have burgers they also have sandwiches, salads, and mexican. We ended up getting the "Homer Burrito" which was a large vegetarian burrito that was pretty tasty. The staff was friendly and though the view was just of the docks and the spit it was a pleasant little spot. Not fine dining but a nice spot to grab a bite while down 'at the end of the road'.

i say aok just because i did not try food. i've heard it rocks. BUT! coffee was hot water with a brown crayon thrown in and the old gal bitchin at the cook looked at me like i had a DOC jumpsuit on. Since i'm not on parole, i had to wonder just what she was looking at? oh yeah. i'm black and not from there? whatevs - young 20's gal helping me was alright and the only bright spot whilst i waited for my busted americano...

After drinking an average-priced latte and pondering which burrito I was going to have I was abruptly prompted by the staff at my table to "buy lunch or something more expensive than a coffee or leave". It was not busy and there were five other empty tables with me occupying the smallest one in the corner. It wasn't my first time at the Cosmic Kitchen but it was certainly my last. If you want to be treated like more than a dollar sign (even while being a paying customer!) I suggest you go to Two Sisters Bakery.

Breakfast. My husband said it was the best breakfast we had in all of Alaska. He had eggs with chorizo. I had the huevos rancheros. Good sauce. Excellent hash browns. The lattes and coffee were great. They also have fantastic jam and whole wheat toast. We bought cookies to go. A bunch of locals were there, so you know it has to be fantastic. Owner is super nice. I liked the decor. It's funky but in a fun way. Wish we could go again!!

Besides ground meat patty, hamburgers are also stuffed with lettuce, onions, tomato slices, pickles, and cheese.

Hamburgers are also categorized into two types in the United States. Fast food hamburger and individual hamburgers served at restaurants are two basic types of burgers served in the United States. Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
