Don't eat here. Atmosphere is horrible, food is bland. I ordered the country fried steak and mash potato. Mash potatoes tastes like power and water. I could get a box of potato spuds and had it taste better. The country fried steak was bland. It was an overall bad experience. There was literally one other person and they sat me right next to someone else that had a sick customer and was gagging. I lost my appetite. Won't go back. The staff were nice though so that's why they get a star.

I saw a number of poor reviews here, but my husband and I had a fine experience. Yes, there is a smoking section. But we didn't smell anything sitting in the non-smoking section. Yes, it's totally a "locals" place, but I figure that's a good thing! There was a lot of people in tonight, with a lot of comfortable chatter going on. It felt friendly and low key. The hostess and our server were very nice and attentive. No complaints at all. We both ordered a BBQ Pork plate, that was one of specials on the written board. Tons of food. We totally could have shared it. Meaty Country Style pork rib, with BBQ sauce. Baked potato for me, mashed with gravy for hubby. Came with corn and rolls. Yes, this was all diner style, not-from-scratch, basic food. But it was hot and fresh and tasty, with ample servings at a reasonable price. ($16.95 per plate) Very casual, family friendly, low key, nothing fancy. To me, this place is A-OK!

I don't like that u can smoke here. The food is good! I don't recommend bringing your kids here. It is comfortable.

I had fun here. Its what you would expect from an all night diner. The food was typical American fare with the addition of baklava. Yeah! The wait staff were super nice and friendly. I did think the existence of a smoking section was archaic but there must be demand for it or they wouldn't have it. I would go here again.

I've been here twice, and it's okay nothing special it's open 24 hours. I went one night with some friends and ordered a breakfast item and found a piece of plastic in the gravy which is rather unsettling.

1st place we ate after landing into Fairbanks. The place is very interesting.. I think everything comes from a can or is processed. The amount you pay for this food, I was hoping it was worth it, but it's really not. I do have to say the wait staff is very attentive and sweet.

Looked like it might be good because there was a lot of cars in the parking lot and we were hungry. It was obvious that it was more local patrons. First off I wanted to leave because they had a smoking room! I almost left when I saw the menu. We could of paid the same at Country Cafe! I ordered the country skillet. Big mistake! I only ate a couple bites. The fresh veggies were onions and green peppers. The hash browns were mushy and my egg was under cooked. It reminded me of a plate of leftover slop piled on my plate with a little cheese melted on top! Boy did I order badly!!

No, not a good place. As reported, the water is awful here. I tried the fried chicken dinner. I've never had chicken like this. It was crisp on the outside, the batter that is, but the skin of the chicken was pale and rubbery under that crispy batter. I was sure I was going to find raw meat but it wasn't. I don't know how they did it. The batter was so good but the meat was barely warm so I was sure I was going to get sick but I didn't. My partner got a skillet and it was pretty good. But the place is a dive and not in a good way, greasy spoon with good food dive. Just a dive. I was certain we were going to get sick. But we didn't. I don't think I'll play that game again.

Yeah it was alright. It's a low end old school family diner, can't expect much. The skillet I had was decent, the toast was pretty not good, and the fries were unbelievably bland. It took forever to get water refills even though there were about 4 people in the restaurant. Overall I'd say pass, but it's cheap food at a decent location. Just ask for no ice. Or else your entire cup will be filled with ice by the first refill.

I've been here several times and always had good food. The country platter is delicious and I've also tried the omelettes and they were good! Definitely a favorite!

This is definitely not a family restaurant. They allow smoking on one half, which drifts over to the non-smoking section. The food that I've gotten recently, hasn't been very good. It's nothing special when it comes to food. Very American and if you're looking for a quick bite, this is the place.

The review is long overdue. My party was out late and decide to eat here only because Denny's was closed. It was about 2 in the morning. 10 minutes went by with no service. We asked for service and the manager on shift brought our table silverware. At that time we ordered coffee that never arrived. When we spoke to the manager about the lack of service, he said "can't you see how busy we are in here! We don't need your business!" Needless to say, we left without eating. I will never, not even if they are the last food source on earth attempt to patronize their restaurant again. As for the food, I'll never know! ZERO star rating!

Decent food, nothing special. OK Prices. THIS IS NOT A FAMILY RESTAURANT. I see a couple of people complaining about the smoking and the lack of kids menus. This is not a family restaurant and it most certainly is not for tourists. This is for regulars, smokers, and single people without kids. Yes, this place does have a smoking section and yes it is perfectly legal. Go with a regular and you'll get treated like one of the family, go without a regular and they honestly could care less that you chose them. Over all, with some caution and planning this place is not bad. Not great, but not bad.

I have eaten here twice now for breakfast and am surprised at the lackluster reviews. The service was excellent, and the waitresses are informative and ultra friendly. They make us feel right at home. The no meat breakfast is 2 eggs, cooked exactly right, the most perfect hashed browned potatoes ive ever eaten at a diner, not the usual soggy slop but nice crisp and tender, and toast for under 5 bucks. my love ordered his with reindeer sausage, which he said tasted like any regular pork sausage, but it was good also. Dont get me wrong, this is a dive, a kitchy diner, but i love the horrible decor and the always friendly faces. you can eat at a dennys anywhere, but there is only one AW family diner. oh , and contrary to the grumpy patron reviews, they do have a kids menu, plainly labled on the regular menu. Fun!

This was our first time in, but a bunch of little things added up to a big NO for us. Were never offered a childs menu or highchair, though our son is 2. The specials board said "ask server" next to the selection, so we did and she was very snotty. Not a smile out of anybody, though apparently they had some, as the regulars were given plenty. Though there were 3 kinds of fish n chips offered, there isn't a bottle of malt vinegar to be found in this establishment. Overpriced barely adequate food. We won't be back, though we live here now. :-(

This must be the only place in Fairbanks that has a children/senior menu :) It is OK if you are hungry but nothing special. Also, employe was smoking just outside the women's restroom---BIG UGH. I thought restaurants were non-smoking so was very disappointed at the smoking employee. Also, a server clearing dishes splashed some milk/liquid on 2 of us sitting in a nearby booth and DID NOT apologize! Have a little class. The people all seem to know each other and were very friendly but this rating is on food and not ambience. I would return if they let me in the kitchen to cook some decent food but otherwise probably would not return.
