I worked at Uncle Joes, so I know they create a great pizza, the dough being the key. Since I left their employment, I have ordered pizzas from them semi-exclusively. Tonight, I ordered a pizza, and it was prepared and cooked as expected, EXCEPT for some reason tonight, it was had the very unpleasant taste of Parmesan cheese. It is as if they have begun trying to cover the flavors of their ingredients with the overpowering flavor and nasty aroma of Parmesan. I was truly disappointed. I threw the pizza in the trash. I did however call the gal back and ask her to add it to my profile that I didn't want that on my pizza, but "nasty" never goes away. Uncle Joes is now on my "do not" list. Too bad. I used to think their pizza rocked. Sorry Joe. It is what it is. I'll try again if I can get that nasty memory out of my head.

This used to be the best pizza in town next to mooses tooth but the last couple of times I have ordered the pizza was one of the worst in town. Tonight I tried to order from the jewel lake store and was told they weren't taking anymore delivery orders and they were still opened for 10 minutes. I then called the Tudor store and was told to call old Seward when I called they said I needed to call the downtown store. Then took my order told me they were going to transfer my order to the Tudor store and I got a call from the jewel lake store. When I got my pizzas they were not done right. The worst part is I used to work for Joe and I would never order anywhere else and would recommend it to everyone. Now I don't want to order from them and would recommend not ordering. :(

The guy that took my order was very good. I ordered light sauce and he made sure it was light sauce. Very helpful when asking questions. Pizza was delicious and exactly how I ordered it.

One of my favorite pizza places, but they do get Sloppy every now and then. The crust on there pizza is awesome. If they improved there consistency I would give them 5 stars.

Good pizza. Tasty crust. Best of all, they delivery all over town and I so wanted to stay in tonight. Pizza arrived HOT and early!

Good pizza but not all that special - not a fan of the crust. Too buttery.

3 1/2 stars. Pretty decent pizza. They also have hoggies, calzones, and salads. Uncle Joe's is your typical pizza joint. Pizza by the slice is available for lunch hours. Not sure about dinner. Their lunch special is 2 slices and a drink for 7.50$. Friendly staff. Plenty of seating and beers on tap. Bottle beer and a few wines available by the glass.

Pizza was delivered an hour after they said it would be here, was barely warm, had way too much cheese and hardly any toppings. Tasted awful. Order from somewhere else.

The pizza is quite good, and on a good day is at least as good as Moose's Tooth. The sauce is great and the regular crust is a few notches above other places. But do not get the thick crust. It is hard to eat, and with the increased cooking time it cooks away the cheese- kind of a strange phenomenon. Do not get the baked spaghetti. We went there with some friends and they ordered calazones. Their food came 15 minutes later than ours. Can anyone say "uncomfortable"? 5 stars on pizza, 0 stars on spaghetti, 2-3 stars on the experience. They could compete with Moose's Tooth if they could develop a happier customer experience.

Good food! Though they didn't give us nearly enough marinara sauce for our breadsticks. I was happy with all pizza choices

Mmmm, this place is OK. We have gone here many times, not sure why I haven't reviewed it before. Their Italian sub is pretty good when paired with the green salad and Italian dressing. Mmm this place has fell off our radar lately due to the really crumby delivery time, might be the location of our house? Idk, it's ok for a sit down place. They serve beer, pizza and even have ice cream products. They also accept UAA Wolf Cards to charge.

Wow, we stumbled across this place after not being able to get a table at a different nearby Italian restaurant. Honestly, I am glad as the food and beer at Uncle Joe's was excellent! Ok, admittedly it's not a fancy place; but these places are never really known for their decor. However, if it's good food you're looking for, then this is the place for it! We ordered some locally-brewed beers (I had the Fairbanks Lager) and I got the baked spaghetti and meatballs, and my buddy had a calzone of some sort. We were both extremely happy with our meals and drinks. Normally being only a visitor in town, I wouldn't return to any restaurant as I like to try as many as possible; however, in Uncle Joe's case I would make an exception (as would my friend, when I asked). For the price (nothing's cheap in Anchorage!) you get some great food and well-sized portions. The staff was friendly and helpful, but not intrusive. Everything I hope for in a restaurant. Definitely worth a try!

Uncle Joe's devlivers to my house. It suprises me that Domino's and Pizza hut stay in business in this town. In our opinion, Joe's beats out Sicily Pizza. unlike Moose's tooth, I have never needed to wait to get in. The food is quick, and you can get it by the slice. Joe's is a solid pizza joint. Salads are not that bad and bread sticks are delicious.

The food is LARGE and delicious...BUT the reason for that one less star is because you PAY for what you get which isn't that big of a deal because the food is good, but it really takes a long time for you to receive your food. The food is good, but the atmosphere is kinda depressing. Great place for take out I guess.

Love Uncle Joes! Great Salads Great Pizza Great Subs Awesome. Service is generally good. Some nights they are spread pretty thin. Too thin. Otherwise it is a great place for dinner... for lunch or delivery!. Kids love this place! very kid friendly. Good Prices!

Got a Hawaiian slice.... It was ok. The crust was good. Didn't enjoy watching the employee eat their own lunch while serving me mine. Probably would get another slice in a pinch.

The food is great and the portions are huge. They also have a pretty decent local beer selection for a little pizza place. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good bite to eat

Two stars because the pizza was fantastic. Unfortunately, it took 3 hours for them to deliver it. The third call Made to them was they are short handed and really busy. If they would have told us that in the first place we would have tried them another day and gone elsewhere. Frustrating .. And they did not even offer a discount on the pizza. If you have 3 hours to wait then go and try them.

I ordered an 18'' greek pizza the other night and although the pizza wasn't half bad and showed up in a timely matter it was in fact missing key ingredients. The menu specifically states that it comes with diced romas and red onions but alas there were none to be found on my pizza. For that reason alone you lose two stars. The other star is because I payed over 30 dollars (including tip) for a pizza that fed only two people, with one slice left over afterwards. I think we were both too bashful to take the last slice for ourselves. Maybe if it had come with all the toppings it was supposed to it would have been more of a meal, but as it was it just seemed overpriced for the amount of money I payed for it.

The vegetarian pizza I got was superb except it wasn't that hot when I got it, that's why it didn't get a 5 star. But other than that it was fantastic!

While in Anchorage I ordered from these guys after working way too many hours in one day. The pizza was HUGE which is why it gets 2 stars. Otherwise they would have one. Here's why: 1. Rude. The delivery guy chewed me out for calling the wrong location. My response was "isn't that why you have a dispatcher?" 2. No toppings. I ordered a pepperoni because the "new girl" didn't know the menu. There were 6 pieces on the entire HUGE pizza. 3. Poorly trained staff. Hence the lack of menu knowledge..? Next time I will just drive to Moose's Tooth.

Cruise liners....AVOID. Understaffed and dirty. Took us over an hour to get our pizza, and then, it was wrong. Promised us a free 12" of the correct ordered pizza free, but after seeing one of the cookers cleaning the tables with a dirty towel, then handling the pizza dough, we had seen enough.

One of my absolute favorite pizza places in town. I love the crust, the cheese they use, and their toppings are generous. The guys who work at this location have been always friendly and personable. I wish I lived closer, so I could order from this location than the downtown one! Whenever a Groupon for UJ's shows up, I always buy them. Plus, when you get a big pizza, you usually get a receipt coupon for a few bucks off the next order. Pretty sweet way to keep customers coming back!

Why anyone would eat at a chain Italian or pizza joint after this is beyond me. Had the spaghetti and meatballs with garlic cheese bread. . . I don't even like Italian food but I am 4 months pregnant and craving spaghetti. I felt like hugging the chef because the food was so good. The salad was fresh and not from a bag, unlike some "fine" dining in town. The place has a homey feel, including a pin ball machine. I give Uncle Joe's an A+ For it's traditional no-nonsense atmosphere and food.

If this rating were based purely on the pizza itself- I would have no hesitation of giving Uncle Joe's a 5. Minus 2 stars since it repeatedly takes a long for the pizza to arrive. The website says 45 minutes- and I don't recall an instance where that was an accurate time-frame. It takes at least an hour at best, and often takes an hour and a half. I added a star (making it 4) because Uncle Joe responded personally to my previous frustration and cared about making it right. Which goes a long way- and that is why I am updating my previous review. So- they get 4 stars. It does say something that I KEEP ordering from Uncle Joes, despite the long wait times, because we think they are really good. We have just wised up to ordering online WAY in advance and have adjusted our expectations to match our experience - rather than the time it says on the website.

I bought the groupon special over the thanksgiving weekend (I spent $12 for $25 worth) and ordered a spicy sausage with extra reindeer sausage and it was wonderful! I highly recommend it. I will definitely be ordering from them again
