Drinks are great, but their food is not the best. I have been a few times and chosen sandwiches over their pizzas & pastas. The BLT actually has a lot of bacon on it and I like their fries. Service is lacking and the atmosphere while decorated well, is stiff. Dont expect a great experience here, but its a nice change at times.

Don't. Just don't. The free mozzarella bread was not worth it. Greeted by a stone-faced hostess who didn't smile once. Our server wasn't any better. At first she was overly attentive, and kept asking for our order. However, we were still waiting on a member of our group, and wanted to hold off on ordering entrees. Bad idea. She then disappeared for 30 minutes. After we flagged her down for ordering again, I made the mistake of asking what the soup of the day was.......15 min later we turn around and she's chit chatting w the table behind us. After she took our order, walked away, and that was it for the next hour. We asked for water refills and got AN EYE ROLL. A manager randomly walked by at around the one-hour-post-ordering time frame and says "don't worry, we found it!" Found WHAT?? Our food? Our ticket? The fountain of youth? **Note: if you come here to drink, have no fear, you will not wait. They roll those bucket drinks out QUICK! Maybe so you'll get drunk enough to forget that you ordered food an hour ago?** Half of my one star is for their pizza sauce, and the other is bc my friends said the pizza wasn't that bad, and the gluten free option was tasty. My salad was pathetic: poorly sliced romaine and pre-packaged cheese. I had been severely craving a chocolate chip cookie all day, but was so fed up w this place and their service that I certainly was not going to give them any more of my money. That is saying A LOT bc I'm basically Cookie Monster. Food is one thing but service is another. There was never any "we apologize for the wait" or replies to my overly friendly pleases and thank yous, or even the SLIGHTEST BIT of kindness. We came here partly bc our experience at the Tacoma location was yummy and friendly. What a shame that Anchorage can't uphold that standard. THIS is why people go to Moose's Tooth and wait as long as they do-- to avoid shitty experiences like this. Next week on Pizza Wednesday, you can find our group of pizza connoisseurs right where we started, at Moose's Tooth.

The only reason I give the rock 2 stars is when they get your food order right the food is really good. I have tried the rock 4 times and in those 4 times 7 things have been brought to me incorrectly. There are just too many flaws to list. I wish you good luck when trying this place!

Go for the uh-mazing drinks and atmosphere, not for the food. Food is definitely mediocre at best. But the bar is frigging awesome. Love the cool flaming counter and all the rock memorabilia. Drinks are very heavy handed, so if you wanna get f'd up and not spend a million bucks, this is a good spot. Drinks are interesting and tasty. Their big buckets o' booze are only 12 dollars. Definitely get a designated driver or call a cab because the location of this place ducks and you can't walk anywhere from here. The Northway Mall Is not a destination. So get blasted with some friends, and take a cab home. The Rock is perfect for a girls night out.

Another restaurant review based on specific needs. Going to Tikahtnu for a movie and want dinner on the way? great. Uh. I think that's about it on specifics. This place isn't bad, once you succumb to the realization that it's a wildly decorated chain restaurant offering decent food at a high price. See? now you can't really set yourself up for disappointment. Twice I have had their burgers and shared a chicken sandwich on baguette (I tried to find it on the menu for specifics, but I remember it has artichoke hearts, mozz, feta and a handful of other delicious toppings). The burger and sandwich, honestly, we're terrific. The side salad was just fine (though I did get the impression they are pre-made and sit ready to go in a dedicated fridge). I did appreciate the number of house-made dressing options. I probably wouldn't venture far from those basic dinner choices lest I be disappointed. I have also had the stuffed mushroom appetizer twice (mushroom caps stuffed with italian meatballs, simmered in french onion soup and literally smothered in cheese. It's gooey, rich, largely portioned, and GUARANTEED to stick about 5 lbs to each thigh. Is it sophisticated, refined and elegant in presentation? hell no - that's not the point. I actually enjoy their house IPA, too. Sure enough, The Rock brews their own line of beers, so of course I had to try a sampling. The bottom line is, yes, this place is a little cheesy. Ok, maybe A LOT cheesy. But it hits primal food and beer desires and is a heck of a lot better than many other chains out there.

Very good service from Kayoua our waitress. I ordered a gluten free margherita pizza. Excellent! I will return. Thanks Kayoua!

You know I saw some of the reviews for this place and said ehhhh. But I went. It was a pretty good experience. I loved the atmosphere and the music. Our server was excellent. Drinks are very reasonably priced. Food was average, nothing special but about right for the price. Tip: the New England clam chowder was NOT good. Watery and garlicky...with no potatoes to be found. Seriously don't get it. Our server said it was hit or miss and she was right. I'll be back. I thought it was pretty okay for the prices and service.

So I want to do a compound review of the three times I've been here. All 3 times I've been sat at a table it has taken at least thirty minutes for a server to come over, and each time they said the same thing, "no one told me they sat you over here." I'm going to have to call BS on that. I think it's just the typical crappy Alaskan service that people have come to expect. I however, do not accept that. The pizza was good, but the poor service makes this a no go for me. I would do carry out, but that's it. Sad, because this place needs some better restaurants, just can't survive on the unmotivated people here.

Moving up from WA to here I was pleased to see this place here too. The Rock has good pizza and great beer as well. If you ever actually manage to get your order. I just went this evening with a large group of people as a farewell dinner and it was an absolute cluster****. The waitress was smart- she took our names down with the order and said she would just call us out by our names. Good idea when you have creative names on your menu for your pies. Too bad she didn't actually follow her own plan nor did the other servers when they just brought it out. Chaos ensues and multiple people have messed up orders. Myself? I never got anything. At all. The folks who had their orders messed up? Several replacement pies. Me? Nothing. When I finally spoke to the manager (after being told he's busy) he just shrugged and said that we had a big group and she was overwhelmed. Look buddy, your restaurant wasn't even HALF full and y'all couldn't handle it. God help you if you have a full restaurant. And if she's overwhelmed, then get someone to help her! Call in help! This is basic restaurant 101. Take care of your customers! Don't make the whole group wait for TWO hours and then mess their orders up so epically!! I wish I could give a real score for this place. But Yelp needs something. ZERO stars for the worst service I have ever had. I did get water at least. With no refills. That's something, right?

Love the environment and food, but quality is taken away with the extremely pushy and rude servers who often forget they have customers.

Poor service and the food isn't much better. My husband and I went here on a Friday for lunch. The waitress wasn't very friends to begin with and it took forever to get drink refills and our food. When we got out food (Smoke on the water sandwich since we ordered the same thing) My husband's sandwich bread was burnt and the fries weren't very good. The only good thing about our lunch was the steak pieces and the drinks. It's definitely going to be hard to get me to go back

WE had our staff Xmas party here. We had Mac and Cheese, an assortment of pizza, chicken wings, soup, and salad. All was pretty good. Nothing remarkable but tasty and not bad. Service was a little hit and miss. Salads were brought to us, the rest was served buffet style. We waited a really long time to get our salads, and they ended up coming after we had finished eating all our dinner. I think there are a lot of other places that have great pizza here so it wasn't stand out special, but it was decent and I don't have any real complaints about the place.

The pizza is pretty good, but I agree with the other people who have said that you're better off going to the Moose's Tooth. This place has a cool atmosphere, though. What it really needs is better staff and management. We came in at about 8, so the restaurant was not busy at all. It took a very long time for my boyfriend to get another drink after ordering one. So long, in fact, that the waitress wasnt sure if someone else had brought it and he had finished another during that time. The first 2 plates they brought (empty, for pizza) were dirty. After waiting a very long time, someone came out to notify my boyfriend that they ran out of the potatoes they use as a side for the steak (what he ordered.) They're supposed to come topped with cheese sour cream and green onions. He says the regular fries are fine. Eventually, out comes the food. 2 pizzas for me and my friend, and a steak with regular fries (they didn't bother to try to top them, or even ask if he'd still like the toppings.) The pizzas were pretty good, and that's why this place gets 2 stars instead of 1. When I looked at his steak, though, I couldn't help but laugh. He ordered a bone-in ribeye. There was no bone. At this point, he literally got nothing on his plate that he had ordered. They did not comp it, but they discounted his food. We heard second-hand from the waitress after she asked her manager that in their shipment, they recieved larger ribeyes, but they were boneless. It's still something you should let people know when they order. You should never just send out something and then hope they don't catch it. The manager didn't even bother to come by the table himself. I won't waste my time nor money by coming back here. The food takes way too long to come out, especially when you run the risk of getting different items than what you actually ordered.

I love to go here for drinks or a fun night out. It's always a good time in there. They play good rock music and the atmosphere is fun to be in. I am in love with there Dream Weaver and close second there Lava Lamp (alcoholic beverages). I recommend their burgers and onion rings but generally all of it is tasty .

First and last time trying their food. I had wings from them and had food poisoning for 4 days straight.... Pretty loud and I enjoyed the atmosphere but I don't think I'll be going back there anytime soon.

What started great COULD have ended up miserable, but was saved by the manager. Ordered whole black olives on my pizza, after a long wait was handed a pizza with the wrong olives - the sour, bitter Katamala type olives. After mentioning it to the server he insisted "we don't have whole black olives here" - REALLY? Yeah you DO, it's the same damn pizza I order every time I'm here. Ended up waiting for the remade pizza while everybody else was done eating. Super awkward, especially with my restless 8 year old in the group. Same server had a party of 12 seat while we were waiting for the pizza, had an empty glass before the wrong pizza came out, and a total of 7 empty glasses on the table for over 20 minutes - while watching the single server try to accommodate the party of 12, as well as two other tables besides us. Saving grace of this experience was the manager, Brix. When I approached him he recognized me (I come here a LOT), and was apologetic, recognized the mistakes were NOT the norm, unacceptable, and comped the entire meal for me and my group. I was impressed by the guy, and he really did make it right for us. I enjoyed my pizza at home.

The atmosphere at this place is great! They have really done a fantastic job at transforming the old Red Robin building into something new and fresh. I love the Rock & Roll type feel they are going for here. I like the brick facade and black fixtures, plus the fireplaces make for great ambiance. They have plenty of televisions which are perfect for watching your favorite games on game day. One thing many Alaskans enjoy is to try new brews and this place has a great option for that. They offer a beer sampler which allows you to try 6 different types of brews and then you can pick your favorite. You get a great range from light to dark beers and there is definitely one that will suit your fancy. I opted to try the fish tacos with sweet potato fries and was a little underwhelmed to be honest. The fish tasted great along with the sauce, but sadly they through the tortillas on the open flame and burnt them which ended up overpowering everything. Had they not put a char on the tortilla, the dish would have been perfection. I will say however, the sweet potato fries were delicious! Crispy with a dipping sauce that has a small kick to it, how can you go wrong? For a first time to the restaurant I was pretty pleased. I will say that I am up to try this place again for sure and hope to have another pleasant experience. Two thumbs up.

I've eaten this Rock once before and the service was painfully slow and the food wasn't what I remembered from the Rock in Tacoma. This was a complete 180 from that last experience! I sat at the bar and Sam was quick to greet me with a smile and a menu. I ordered off the menu (the Hey Hey, My My pasta) and the chef obliged. Good food and good service is always appreciated!

I gave this place another go on Aug 24th, Sunday around 6pm. And finally I get a great server here. Unfortunately I forgot her name. Yes, I noticed she had a pen & paper to take our order. I see the restaurant took note from the last experience I had here. I ordered the Clam Chowder Soup and Catfish Taco with Roasted Whole Garlic. My Oh My! The Catfish Taco was delicious and it's even better if you get Roasted Whole Garlic on it. I've had fish tacos before in different restaurants but by far this is one of the best ones I had. The tortilla and sauce was good, the catfish was made well (: Also the Clam Chowder was served to me a little cold. Wished it was served really warm. I couldn't taste any clam. Would be great if there was small chucks of potato in it. I couldn't finish it, I only took a few bites. My friend tried it and we agreed that it had a really buttery taste to it. Like the only flavor we tasted in that bowl. The chowder needs a fix. Overall, pizza isn't on my check list here nor the soup but the Fish Taco is a highly recommend to get here!

First we had to walk through a cloud of cigarette smoke to get into the restaurant, pretty gross! They should have it no smoking signs. We started off with a salad, tomatoes were well past their prime. In fact they were in my refrigerator at home I would I have thrown them out. I was expecting a really great pizza, was very disappointed. Crust was not as crispy as I would've thought it would've been, in fact it was a little on the soggy side. I think next time I will pick up a Papa Murphy's and call it good.

Definitely enjoy this little gem. Their ambiance is pretty fun and lots of great drinks to choose from. This time I was part of a large group and they were able to accommodate us very nicely. The only annoying part was that the hostess delayed in seating us and it wasn't until we were crowding the entrance that she decided to finally seat us. A good time was had by all and the food was delicious. I wish I had see the check in deal while I was there instead of after eating. Mozz bread would've been awesome :-) if you like garlic I recommend that shrimp scampi. Very garlicky! Just hope you aren't kissing anyone after hahaha.

If I could give this restaurant a zero star. I tried calling them for twenty minutes and ended up driving to figure why this had happened. I was just in the Tacoma restaurant and it was amazing. So I thought this one would be as well until arriving to find the phone was off the hook and ringing a dead tone thus explaining why no one was answering. I know from being in the food business a while this is a tactic not used often so a restaurant can focus on other duties like cleaning or dealing with the patrons in their establishment. I will try them again at a later date as I was informed management is going through some changes. So hopefully the changes help better deal with the phone orders. As for now I am not happy with the service and expected more.

This spot isn't all that great. We came here on a Sunday evening and boy was it packed. It was overly crowded everywhere and so service was a pretty slow. The food is pretty mediocre. The pizzas tasted super dry and not very flavorful. Tastes like how my homemade pizza would taste like. However, they do have some interesting drinks! Margaritas in buckets! That's pretty awesome. They do have some creativity talent, but they need to put their creative energy towards their food! They're still relatively new so hopefully they will clean up a bit more over the next few months!

I really enjoy going to The Rock for a business lunch. Eating in the bar at the high top tables is super easy. My co-workers often get the buffet that is a good price, but I have to get the Kalb Rib! So good! I've had them three time now and it's my go to lunch with either the clam chowder or the side salad. Megan is the absolute BOMB! She's got an awesome sense of humor and gives it back as well as she gets it! She's right on the spot with service and a refill for your beverages. She even knows to bring out the hot sauce without being asked! She's most definitely a keeper for the lunch crowd! Honestly, I haven't had the pizza yet, but my co-workers and clients always rave about it. I have gone on a weekend and enjoyed their brews very much too. The house brewed IPA is unique and tasty. I will be back again and again.

First sign should have been when we walked in the door. No host around, waited than waited, than walked around the corner to see if anyone was around. Waited some more than finally a waitress came and sat us. Than waited some more. We were just about to get up and leave when our waitress finally appeared. My wife ordered fish tacos very dry no flavor, I ordered fish & chips. A different waitress dropped it off. Brought no ketchup so after a few minutes I got up and grabbed a bottle from another table. The coleslaw was old and no flavor fish was over cooked. Was not at all impressed, so chances of going back are slim.

Great pizza place and very close to elmendorf...I still prefer Mooses tooth but this is way closer and pretty tasty for an alternate pizza place! The reason it gets a 2 rather than a three star is lack of service. Our waitress was no where to be found...horrible service with good food gets you a 2 out of 5 rating...side note we were there before the dinner rush but our waitress wasn't...I would come back but I would definitely ask for a different waitress.

I hoped to fall in love with this place since it's in my part of town...but sadly I was rather disappointed by the quality of food :( Definitely "chain quality". The Beer Sampler was pretty neat. I enjoyed the honey wheat, blonde, and porter. Nothing special about the calamari or the sauce that came with it. Also, the portion size was tiny. Spent $20 for a 12" (Crazy Train/Slow Ride) which killed me 'cause neither side was tasty or satisfying. The pizza crust was ok, but the toppings tasted frozen pizza-ish. The fried chicken was bland and forgettable. The brownie in the s'mores dessert sucked. It also took a while to get our food. Some good things... The interior design and vibe of the place was cool and so was the server. I'll probably give it another shot to try more of their specialty drinks. However, I'm sticking to Moose's Tooth for my pizza fix.

We had a farewell lunch and for some ungodly reason it's always at The Rock. We walked in around noon and were quickly seated at the booth. I ordered the chicken wrap with sweet potato fries. I also asked for jalopenos in my wrap. On hindsight, maybe I should have just not had anythin. My food came in abt 12 mins which I think was pretty average. My wrap was full of lettuce and 3 small slices of jalopenos and 2 small chunks of chicken. The wrap tasted like cardboard and there were like 11 sweet potato fries. The sauce that came with it was the only saving grace. I got my check and yep.....they had added $1.50 for the jalopenos.....the nickel and dining could put Spirit Air to shame..... No more The Rock for me....I would rather just not go to anymore farewells....

Went in for a late Sunday lunch or an early dinner. Restaurant was not busy. However we were told by the hostess that we would have to wait 10-15 minutes before we would be seated. I inquired with manager about the wait. He said they did not want to double seat their servers. His explanation was in order to provide great service, we would have to wait 10-15 minutes for a table (in a half empty restaurant) but he said once seated we would not have to wait. Questionable decision making, but I dropped it and we were seated a few minutes later. Took close to 15 additional minutes for server (different person) to take our drink order. So much for the managers plan. Service seemed to pick up after that, however noticed some servers were working and others were standing around, doing nothing which hurt the managers logic even further. Another odd thing was the kitchen kept loudly yelling servers names. So to summarize service was terrible, hostess was rude and gave attitude, she also suggested we sit at the bar with teenagers? Manager made questionable decisions, loud kitchen, decent atmosphere, and Passable but not worth the price food. I would suggest avoiding this place all together.

I've been here twice and each time it was at least a 2 hour wait for food with medicore service in between. The first time the manager assured us that the wait time never happened like that normally, so we decided to give the place a second chance. Getting there at 4:30 and not leaving until 7:15 is just not right when you're only ordering a pizza. Overall, great looking place but fails to live up to expectation.

I was pretty impressed walking into this new restaurant. They totally gutted the old Red Robin and the interior reminded me of the House of Blues. Sat at the bar and they have six large screen TVs to watch your favorite sport. The menu had everything from soups, salads, sandwiches and burgers. Ordered calamari and cheese garlic bread. Both were delicious. The pizza was good, I really liked the crust. Had a few people come to the bar complaining that no one has come to their table to take an order, so unless you were sitting at the bar, the service was slow. But I'm sure that will be worked our in time. All in all, I would definitely return in the near future!!

This place is all about your luck. If you go there on a busy day, it's more likely your food will taste better (pizza may be a little burnt though) but when it's dead, they get lazy and the food sucks. Don't waste your money on their desserts, they aren't very good. Also, the lighting is very bad! Cool place though and the drinks have been pretty good. I'd give 4 stars for the customer service but the place itself only gets 2.

Worst service I have experienced in Anchorage. Food was okay. Started with two orders of mozzarella sticks, or so I thought. First order came out after a bit of a wait, asked about second order and it came out after a long wait exactly when the food arrived. Drinks were empty for a long time, had to beg for refills. Next came another very long wait before I had to ask for the bill. 15 minutes later, bill finally showed up. The waitress was pleasant enough, definitely a management/staffing issue. Will not come back.

So we get there at around 4:50pm Saturday. Thinking that we could maybe beat the crowd. Well the waiting area was standing room only but I asked if the bar was open seating and it is. So the two of us grabbed a seat at the fireplace table. That is a nice touch but dang I got warm. It was at least 15 minutes before we could grab a waitress. She took a drink order that still hadn't arrived after another 10 minutes or so when she came back to take our food order. She went into a long explanation that they were understaffed, and also that because we decided to sit in the bar we were jumping ahead of customers in the regular seating area and that meant our service would be slower. I kid you not! WTF? We did get the hang of flagging down our waitress for drink orders. My girl noticed waitresses behind the bar pouring their own orders. Why in the world can't the bartenders do that? So in the next 45 minutes or so we had time for 3 cocktails each while patiently waiting for our food. We ordered 3 pies, My Generation, Stairway to Heaven, and some mostly meat pie with black olives. So the pizzas finally show up. My girl lifts the first piece up to check the crust, she is a fast learner and has become quite the pizza connoisseur. I do the same and we look at each other and say the same thing. What the hell is up with the corn meal? HEY PIZZA JOINTS! IT FEELS LIKE YOU USED SAND TO KEEP THE PIZZA FROM STICKING TO THE PEEL! STOP USING IT! The pies are your average bar fair. If you have "Wood fired pizza" in your name, I should be able to taste some smoke. Not the case here. All the pies needed salt but they did have parmesan and pepper flakes on the tables along with s&p which helps. Pizza joints really need to learn that you must first make an excellent crust. Then no matter the toppings, your pies will be good. So to recap; Service was slow and bad Food takes forever Getting a margarita buzz was the high point of dinner Pizza is average to below for a place that should do it better 2 people, 6 drinks, 1.75 hours, 3 pizzas, $100

Terrible in almost every way. The decor and atmosphere are pretty cool. I liked the place when I walked in. It took a few seconds for my opinion to go south. First a drunk guy nearly stumbled over my wife & daughter. Not happy. The hostess was leading us to our seat and was able to avoid the stumbling drunk but we weren't. She didn't even seem to notice. It is New Years Day 2014 so maybe the drunk guy was still partying, ringing in the new year. It was approximately 830, the place is 1/2 full, not busy at all. My wife ordered a salad. It was awful. We boxed it up for my 11 & 12 year old boys (who eat anything and love salad) and they would not touch it. My daughter ordered the Peanut Butter & Jelly Pizza from the kids menu. It was the best part of the meal!!!! We got some sweet potato fries to start. They were cold and appeared overcooked. The obviously had been sitting under a heat lamp or something for while. We love SP Fries and the dip was good..... oh and it took nearly 20 minutes to get them so we were STARVING and dug right in regardless off the POOR QUALITY. I got a burger and it was crap. Nasty pre-made patty, over cooked, unevenly cooked. Tasted like char. There was some bacon on it but it too had no taste. The overwhelming char taste was all there was. I wish if I was going to eat an unhealthy meal I had ordered the dad-blamed pizza!!!! Maybe pizza is what they are known for and are good at. The PBJ Pizza was a hit. Next time we will order a few of those to go (enough for the whole family) and eat them at home where there service will be 100% better than the piss poor service we received tonight. Oh and to top it all off.... either the same or another drunk guy sitting in the waiting area when we leave.... I thought he was going to ralph on my little girl on the way out. He was sitting there making gagging sounds and covering his mouth!! The employees at the hostess stand were oblivious. So shocked by this experience. Really it was unbelievable. IF I come back it will be to try some pizza. But I seriously doubt I can give this place another shot.

I've been there twice--once with 3 people and once with 4. Out of 7 meals, the opinions have ranged from so-so to awful. My 2nd time there I had the "White Christmas" pizza, and there was so much sauce on it that when I picked up the slice everything slid off into a soupy puddle in the middle of the plate, leaving me with just a soggy crust in my hand. In general the service has been pretty good. The decor and atmosphere are great. I want to like this place, but the kitchen just isn't getting it done, and I don't see going back.

As most of the previous post's stated, THE SERVICE IS BRUTAL (sucks)! It took over 15min just for the waitress to visit our Table, then another 10 for the drinks to arrive. Ordered a $9 Bloody Mary which wasn't even garnished ( way over priced to begin with). I have many years in the service industry and if I owned this place I would start by firing the management and then work my way down. There is review after review of SHITTY service but nothing seems to change. Don't waste your time, get a pizza from Moose's Tooth it's much better. With service like this it won't be long this place will lock it's doors

After all the bad reviews I read and the friends who told me it wasn't very good, my husband and I went to see for ourselves. I wanted to like it! I was lured in with the fire, the bricks, the neon lights, the menus that look like old record covers, the roadie case tables..etc. It is such a huge transformation from the old Red Robin. So we sat down as soon as we got there, we got to our table, looked at our menus for a while... Behind us was a table of waitresses watching tv at the booth and folding pizza boxes. They were being loud and boisterous and cussing every other word.. Waiting, waiting.. Where's our waitress?! It was about 8:15 on a Sunday night. There weren't very many people there. Finally after about 10 minutes, she comes by and we decided to order the meatloaf sliders and 2 cherry lime Jello shots. Sliders were pretty good, lots of flavor and the right amount of heat. The Jello shots were pretty good. Right as our appetizer and shots came, we ordered our food. I got the Mac n Cheese, my husband got The Classic pizza. We ate the sliders and the Jello, we also had waters which needed refills about 3 times before we got any word of our food. Trying to get those refills was apparently so inconvenient to them. We had been sitting there for over 30 minutes after eating the sliders! Finally the waitress comes over and asks if the manager has come to talk to us, we say no. She tells us that my Mac n Cheese was made, but the pizza wasn't. Really? After all this time?! At this point I was just ready for the food to be boxed up because I didn't want to sit there any longer. About 45 minutes and all we had were a couple sliders and pre-made Jello shots. This guy came over to our table, didn't look any different than any of the other wait staff, but I guess he was the manager, and tells us sorry about the food, it'll be out in a few seconds. We waited another 5 minutes and the food came out, my Mac n Cheese had been completely remade because it had been waiting on the pizza so long which made the pizza wait on the Mac n Cheese so now it was literally BOILING and the pizza was lukewarm at best! The Mac n Cheese was alright, but it was served with this roll that should be called "The Rock" because it was nothing more than a burnt top, flavorless, rock of dough. The pizza had a burnt crust about 1 1/2 inches tall while the base was so thin, you couldn't even tell it had one. Sparse pepperoni, hardly any cheese. It was not worth the price, I make better pizza at home. The point where I had completely had ENOUGH and showed my dissatisfaction was when I was a couple bites into my Mac and Cheese and started chewing on this weird bit.. That's not bacon, I thought... No it was a big wad of rolled up paper, apparently from the cheese packaging. I unrolled it to see if it was some sort of secret message like "you're dreaming" or "sorry it took so long!" I lost my appetite, made eye contact with the waitress, waved the paper. She brought the manager over after taking it into the back (probably trying to figure out what it was.) He comes back, apologizes, I just wanted to leave I said. He took my Mac and Cheese off the bill, half of the pizza and we still had a total of $25. We just paid it and got the hell out of there quick as it was around 9:45 already. I spoke to my aunt about her experience and she said she had a similarly bad experience and her Mac and cheese had raw bacon in it. Fantastic. I guess maybe don't get the Mac and cheese? This place is a joke! I don't recommend anyone go here unless you're getting drunk enough to not care.

My husband and I ordered take out pizza from here and the pizza was ok, minus there was a hair in my pizza. The restaurant itself is in need of some updates, the staff needs to keep their personal lives to themselves or in private, not talk about it in front of customers, and the food could be better quality. Over all probably won't be going back. Not for the pizza or for the hair...

Went for lunch and was not impressed. Had one server for entire bar area (7+ tables plus bar) so needless to say food took a while to come out. Drinks not refilled when asked and had to bring credit card to bar to pay bill. As for food, was okay; got Carseat and 'my generation' pizza...nothing special, however chocolate cake for dessert was HUGE and very moist (best part of meal).

I was excited to get the chance to try a new pizza spot and the smell from outside the restaurant was great. BH 6.10.14 UPDATE: I've been there for pizza when they opened that was soggy, then a burger that was worse yesterday. 3rd chance?

After trying this place in Washington, it was a nice surprise to see one opening in Anchorage. Rocking atmosphere - loud enough to take noisy kids without bothering other patrons. Not a long wait. Our son was greeted with a chunk of pizza dough to play with. It was obvious this place is new and still working the kinks out. Tried the beer sampler of six 5oz tasters for $9, which was awesome to find out which ones I liked. I'm sure there's a beer for everyone here. Ordered the chipotle-rubbed wings which are served in a cast iron pan to keep them hot and they were just what we remembered. SO GOOD. We wanted an order of the hot sauce and bleu cheese dressing on the side but our server forgot. Ordered the kids pepperoni pizza which was good. Not a fan of the over-sized pepperonis, though. Also ordered a side of the smiley-faced fries which our son loves, but he forgot to place that order too. Our pizza was tasty: cream-based with cheese, bacon, gr beef, pepperoni and onion. The crust was soft and delicious. $17 for a 12" is a little pricey since this is definitely NOT Moose's Tooth. MT pizzas are around $17 for a 14" of similar variety so the 12" seemed small. It was too bad that the wings, pizza, and beer filled us up too much to try the dessert. We will be going back to try the cast iron apple crisp or cookie. :)

Pretty good food. The hummus appetizer came with a good portion of hummus, but was short on pita. The menu said it had artichokes and sriacha in it, but they were just on top. The bad to the bone pizza had good flavors, but toppings were a bit scant compared to some other pizza joints in town. The wood fired crust is more crisp than most in Anchorage, and resembles pizza served in Oregon. Prices were in line with premium pizzas in town, high but not ridiculous.

You would think that for a chain restaurant they would have better service. I don't understand why the service is so slow. We went around 3:30 on a Saturday afternoon, and wasn't able to leave until around 5:30. When we left the lobby was packed. On that trip we ordered the Chipotle Wings (which were fire hot, but not spicy hot) and those took FOREVER to appear on our table, without the dipping sauce. The waitress was supposed to bring it, but she never did. She didn't seem interested in making sure we had what we needed or if to make sure we were happy or had refilled drinks. My husband had to ask her twice for his beer. On our second trip we ordered the Revolution and The Founders Pie. I really liked The Revolution and thought the crust was nice. I was beginning to think that our dinner was free because we had to wait about 30 minutes after our plates were taken away and left overs were boxed up for our waitress to appear with our bill. The Rock will never replace our love of Mooses Tooth, but if the service would improve, I could see going if we were on the east side of Anchorage.

I'm always excited about new pizza places in Anchorage and went in hoping this place would rival the city's penultimate pizza restaurant, Moose's Tooth. Unfortunately, it will not be on my rotation of regular eateries. We went at 4PM on a Saturday so the place wasn't PACKED but was about 70% full. I took this as a good sign that we'd get our food quick and easy. After about 45 minutes of waiting (for a couple small pizzas and a burger), the irritation began. When the food came, two of the pizzas were just warm, one was piping hot and the burger was stone cold. Now, I understand they've only been open a few weeks but one expects a chain restaurant to have some stability to bring to a new city so they can hit the ground running. Hearing that the cooks were 'new' and still learning didn't make my pizza taste any better. Our waiter was very friendly but at the end of the day, I go for good food in a reasonable time. The food was okay (ultimately inconsistent). Definitely won't go out of my way to return.

Meh. Very cute inside. The bar has a really cool fire pit in the middle. I went on at Tuesday night with 2 friends. We had wine, cocktails and dinner. I ordered a vodka tonic but got a vodka soda. When I said something to the waitress she noted that they bartender mentioned they'd changed the soda gun but didn't realize the tonic and soda were switched. No offer to bring me the correct drink. I got a salad with fried shrimp, friends each got a pizza. The service was VERY slow. I think only 1 waitress was working the bar area-which was about 1/2 full. It was difficult to get refills, order more food, get the check, pay, get a to-go box, etc. At one point I thought the waitress had gone home. Dinner for 2 ran $50 with drinks. It's what you would expect from a chain. Formula food of average quality with elevated pricing. I'd go back for drinks just for the fire pit though.

Rock, you are very welcome. My family flew in from California and they are picky eaters. They devoured everything! I noticed the new menus, food choices and dishware. My extreme compliments to the chefs that cook for the consumers because I know they bust their ass as well. Everything was fresh. Love the new looks an friendly waiters. I know people get irritated because the hostess is sometimes busy sitting other patrons, but that is expected at any restaurant. Those impatient people need to learn a little patience and gratitude. Keep rocking!

ate the buffet and pizza was good. went back for going away and ordered the baby back ribs. Seems the cooks made mine first and set it in the window. They did comp my meal which was awesome but, distro line for food needs serious fixing. Awesome server but food was cold.

Service sucks here. If people come in for lunch on the week day, the usually means they don't have 15 extra minutes for you to come back to my table to get my credit card. The server saw me get out my credit card and just walked by. The. Didn't come back! I had to go give the card to her after waiting and waiting. Service sucks!

Well my husband kept saying "I'd like to try the rock". We did tonight. The coke was great, and after 46 + minutes at a table that's all we got. Got there as a couple, and got funneled to the bar area. Found a table, sat down, waited 20 minutes for anyone to come by. Someone came by gave us menus. They came back 15 minutes later and took our order. This wasn't our waitress, but she promised to tell our absent waitress (Denise) we were there and had ordered. 20 minutes later people who had come in after us got food. We were still waiting for the ever absent Denise. The portions that went by looked small, the reactions of the other people didn't look good, lots of grimaces after tasting stuff. It's noisy, dark, looks like a pimp bar, and tries to hard for the rock and roll effect. Difficult to see the tv screens, flaming bar is interesting, not a sports bar. Firetaps better for games. We did leave, and I hope the people that grabbed our table were amused when our food arrived. If you have time to waste on what looked like an unpleasant crapshoot food wise go for it. If you're going to wait, wait at the mooses tooth.

We got here at 1155 and finally got my food at 1320. I honestly don't feel the need to wait that long for my food. People that arrived after I did got their food and paid for it before I got mine. Not only that, but it took forever just to get refills. There were three people helping our group out and they still couldn't keep track of the food and drinks. Disappointed. The pulled pork sandwich was cold when I got it and it tasted like the same pulled pork you could get at walmart. The only thing that was good was my fries...

Nice sports bar. However I noticed that they sat the people with kids in the back away from the TVs and by the kitchen. The noise from the pizza makers was obnoxious. The pizza was better than average for Anchorage and there were lots if options. The salad choices were awesome. The beer was cold and it wasn't crowded. The decor is cool and you cannot even tell it used to be Red Robin.

We have only been here 2 times and we sat in the bar....the service SUCK! They are very under staffed there is 1 waitress for over 10 tables and 1 bar tender. We where VERY unsatisfied this 2nd time. Don't get me wrong the food is really good and the drinks are great. Just the service is sooo shitty!!

Despite the bad reviews that I saw I decided to go try the pizza since my wife and I were in town and we loved it! The decor of the place was very cool, the beer and cocktails were good and the food was fairly priced. If I had to pick out one bad thing about the place I would say that the service was a little slow

We arrived at 4:30pm on Sat afternoon and the place was starting to fill up. Heard the stories about slow service and loud music but experienced neither one of those. The service was good but not stellar. The food was a mixed bag. We had a party of 7 so we had mixed reviews around the table. The burger was good and cooked right, salads were good and fresh and the meat pizza ordered by others had a great crust, lots of meat, little short on cheese and too salty. My wife and I made the mistake of ordering the french onion soup and a gluten free margarita pizza. Soup was mediocre due to serving temp, just south of hot, mozzarella cheese instead of Parmesan and a thin piece of non-descript bread. The gluten-free pizza was probably the worst pizza I have had in my life. Aside fro it being gluten-free crust, it had so much garlic powder on it that it proved inedible. Include the fact that it was tough to find the tomatoes and it had six, count them, six small pieces of basil sprinkled on top. It got 2 stars not only for food but the decent service from our server was ruined by her saying, "oh well" when a mentioned the disaster of a pizza. Might try it again when the "new" wears off. Cheers!

Third time here and after two pretty stellar visits, this third one was so bad we likely won't be back. The host kid had no idea what he was doing and was clearly overwhelmed. Plenty of open tables but we had a "5-15 minute wait", were seated in a dark area by the kitchen when there were several tables with natural light open, just seems like poor planning as far as service/waiters go. He also told a family of four that the wait would be 25 minutes, so they left. No reason for there to be that long of a wait. Shuffled everyone else to bar.. Maybe that's where all the servers were. Took forever to get water, food was alright. Server never checked on us, ignored several attempts to get our bill, then literally had our card for 10 minutes before she gave it back. Worst service I have had in anchorage in years. Location is already crappy, I'd work harder at pleasing the folks willing to come out in the first place.

We arrived fresh out of the movie theatre. Not starving, but ready for a meal. We were seated right away. Our server, Ashley, was fantastic. She explained the history of the restaurant and went through the menu with us. Told us about all her favorite things. We ordered the mozz bread sticks, YUMMO, they were great. Then ordered some pizza's. All were fantastic. We were very thrilled. Ashley was constantly by checking on us. All in all, I would go back!

The place is pretty darkly lit I'm not sure if I liked that, but the pizza was good. My generation pizza is the stuff you can get full off of, same goes for the chicken quesidella appetizer. Service was a little slow for a Tuesday night.

  • Mike B.

Incredibly slow service, the place wasnt very busy and we still waited an hour for our food. I had a burger and my girlfriend ordered a pizza, not a very complicated meal. The food was good I love the beer battered fries and the prices were reasonable, however I dont see us going back there any time soon. Its a two hour commitment just to go eat, way past acceptable. I tried two different microbrews of the house brand, not good at all. I like my beer and this stuff is about the worst i've tried.

No thanks. Went here over the weekend. We ordered a half & half pizza with 3 side salads and a kids pizza. Service was SLOOOOOOOW. I wish the food could've redeemed this place, but, no, unfortunately not. The salads tasted straight out of the bag and the dressing from the jar. Our pizza was lukewarm and the crust burnt. They put ingredients on the pizza we asked to left off. Then, to add insult to injury, they charge us for TWO pizzas! Giving them an extra star because they're new and the interior design is cool, but won't be going back anytime soon.

Better in the lower 48. The bucket was weak, didn't even get me buzzed and I 'm a light weight. Food was okay. Hubby hated the Rock punch ( non alcoholic). Good happy hour. Amazing mozz bread. Staff was alright. Very dimly lit. Don't get the jello shooter, cherry lime tasted like cough syrup.

2nd time here. 1st time was understandable with the slow service, it was invitation only night and it was packed. 2nd time is a Tuesday night, barely anyone in the parking lot. I felt service would be better, NOT. It took an hour to get our food, our waitress didn't come by after she took our order to refill our drinks or to see if we were ok. I had ordered a side salad that I never received. Finally asked for a refill after our food came and mentioned the salad. The food was good, the decor is great, but the service sucks! I hope after a few more months their service will start catching up with their food and decor. It'll be a while before I ever decide to go back for a 3rd time.

Their drinks are good, service is okay. We had a large group so it was understandable but they never picked up our empty glasses or plates, until we asked, then they just put it on another table behind us and left it. The steak on my steak salad I got was cold.

If ratings were based on the food alone, I could have rated higher, but the service is horrible. I have come here twice hoping that my first time was just an off day for the staff. This seems to actually be the norm here from my experience and other yelp reviews. Tonight we Arrived at 6:30pm (on a Saturday) and got a booth in the bar right away. We didn't get a waitress for our drink order for about 15 minutes. After we finally got our drinks and ordered food it took about an hour to get our food. During this time, our waitress didn't check on us at all. Random other servers refilled our drinks (slowly) the entire hour wait. When our food arrived it was cold. Would not recommend coming here if you do not have at least 2 hours to dine and don't have patience for careless, slow, unapologetic servers.

I was really let down. Last time we tried to come in, it was a Friday and PACKED so we gave up after waiting 20 minutes in line just to enquire about the length of the wait. People were leaving saying it was definitely worth the wait. So we went back to try again. This time it was still busy on a Thursday. Decent service, but we were disappointed in the selection and the food. Everything tasted "off", like something fake. I wonder if they really even have wood-fired ovens.

The place advertises as open until midnight. We showed up at 11, and were waited on about ten minutes later, being told it was "last call". At 11:10? We ordered a round and looked at the menu, but since we'd have to have our pizzas with water we passed. Another couple came in a few minutes later, about 11:20, and were told service was finished for the night. I understand during the summer the staff would rather go home than wait on just a few couples... but if closing early is an option, the Rock should not claim to be "open until midnight". A waste of our time.

Had a little bit of a wait but well worth it. The pizza was great. My daughter loved the mac n cheese. The atmosphere was perfect for big groups or people with children. The staff was very friendly! !! Great beer and 15% military discount. We'll definitely be back!!!

Sunday night we had to wait for an hour and 40 minutes to get some burgers. Fries are soggy and burgers come as two thin patties which kills the idea of medium rare because when patties are so thin you can"t cook them to order. This was my second experience with this restaurant and service is always extremely slow and food is just OK.

New restaurant, some kinks yet to work out. The food is really great and servers and managers are really helpful. Once some of the new-ness wears off and the staff can get into an even flow it's going to be pretty cool place.

The design of this place is pretty awesome. The food was such a disappointment. The pizza does not taste wood fired at all. The Alfredo pasta tasted like water with a splash of garlic. Our pizza came out before our salad. The waiter actually forgot to enter one of our pizzas so we waited another half hour for that. Overall a bad experience but the service wasn't bad. I have a feeling this place won't last more than a year...

I have been watching the reviews of this place fairly close and wanting to try it out despite the so-so reviews. Well, I finally got the chance. I ordered the My Generation pizza which is a white cream sauce with bacon, chicken, and some red onion. My girlfriend order a BBQ pork sandwich. We were notified that they were out of BBQ sauce. Ok.... She had her heart set on it and ordered it anyways with hot chili sauce on the side. I had gotten there a few min earlier than her so was able to get a beer while waiting. And wait I did and wait some more. And a little more. Finally got my beer. I was hoping this wasn't going to be the way the evening continued but no such luck. Service was HORRIBLE! Our food came and the pork sandwich had the sauce on it rather than on the side as requested. Oh well. Still a sub par sandwich. And what's up with the sweet potato fries?? They were obviously fried in very old oil. Not very tasty. Now the pizza. Blah and bland is how I would describe it. I wanted to like this place soo bad. Really hoping that it would give Mooses Tooth some competition. No chance! Bad service and sub par food. We won't be back unless its for a drink and possibly try an app. They did do a good job on the decorating of the place however, that's where the second star comes from.

Saturday night and busy as you would expect. Wait to get in not bad about 30 minutes. Fun atmosphere. It went down hill from there. Food came close to an hour after ordering and we were told the kitchen was backed up but people who came in at least a half hour after us had food before us. Pizza was warm but not fresh from the oven as was the burger and meatball sandwich. We then asked for utensils and napkins but they were out of utensils but rounded up 4 napkins. A few minutes later we were provided utensils. Sandwiches were pretty good although not hot but the pizza was a real disappointment. The toppings were sparse especially the meat. Feel free to take our place as we will not be going back.

We went to check out this new place to eat in town. We came at shift change and were told we had to wait 20 minutes or so because it was shift change. What? We asked if we could set in the bar, which we did. We decided to share a pizza and a green salad. The salad, a $9 green salad came and it was about the size of a dinner salad you would get at Chili's or Applebee's, definitely not big enough to share. The salad was just ordinary; greens, a couple/three olives, couple slices of cucumber and a couple cherry tomatoes. A salad is such an easy thing to do right. I rate this salad at about a 4 if 10 was the best green salad I had ever eaten. The ranch dressing was good. We ordered a pizza with pepperoni, sweet sausage and ricotta cheese and had them add olives and green peppers and with tomato sauce .i can't remember the name of the pizza. It was OK, not the best pizza or the worst I've eaten. It came with mozzarella cheese but there was so little on it we asked the waitress if they maybe forgot it. After looking really hard by picking the pizza apart a bit we finally saw a little. The meat on the pizza was tasty but sparse, and it was really skimpy on the sauce. I mentioned to my friend that my husband would like it because he really doesn't like tomato sauce. We ordered a 12 inch, thinking it would be plenty to share, as we've done the same at Moose's Tooth with the same size and it was plenty. The crust was good, light, not a heavy crust like Pizza Man in ER or Bella Vista in Peters Creek, but the whole pizza was kind of "light" on everything. The decor' is really cool. Service was OK but could have had a bit more attention, as the waitress came to our table twice and although our water was empty, didn't notice to refill them. Will I go here again? Probably, as I am curious about how their burgers are. If their burgers go wanting like their pizza and salad, I probably won't go back.

Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
