Went in tonight and got the wrong order. My wife touched her chicken trying to see if all her pieces her spicy. When she took the order back they threw out the pieces she had bitten on that was with the other pieces of chicken and threw the rest back into the pile with the cooked chicken to go out to customers.

I love Popeyes chicken, but the service here is atrocious. There were only 2 people ahead of me when I arrived at 2 PM today. I was in line 14 minutes before I could place my order. All I wanted was 2 pieces spicy chicken thighs--nothing more, but I had to wait another 8-10 minutes after placing the order before I had my meal. The two people ahead of me were unfamiliar with the menu, even after having stood in line a long while they didn't know what they wanted. It took forever. What upset m most though was that there was no sense of urgency, no effort made to expedite the process. Not everyone is retired, on vacation, or otherwise at a loss as to how better to spend their time than to stand and wait. The lady at the counter was friendly and pleasant, but she could have made the effort to bag up the small, simple orders as she takes them: it would have been more efficient than standing there staring at the next customer as he/she stared at the menu trying to decide what to order. I love Popeyes chicken, but there is a reason I only go there once every 10 to 12 months. It's just not worth the hassle.

I've forgiven this place since I moved here in 1998 for their extremes in cost-cutting resulting in ridiculous wait-times even with high traffic, their less than enthusiastic staff, and the annoying way they have of being out of special items, peach things during peach-time, etc. However, last night was just ridiculous. I wanted an 8-piece dinner. I asked for it no legs, could I have either thighs or wings instead. I was told no, it's sold by a mix of pieces. Well, duh, that's still what I was asking for. When I pointed that out, I was told they would be happy to give me all white for $3,00 dollars more. I said I was not wanting that, simply anything but legs, I don't care if it's the smaller cut of wings or what. "No, we can't do that." I said, so let me get this straight, you're happy to charge me more for what I don't want, but not to give me less at the same price for what I do want. 'Yes, mam, that's right." I just left. Seriously? It's not like I was asking for something odd, or totally in my favor $$ wise. Not shrimp for chicken prices or anything. Just different, even smaller, pieces of chicken in the place of chicken. Does customer service not exist at all anymore? You just lost a decades-long customer over two chicken wings. Wow.

I wouldn't even give them a star but I had to. Service sucked. It was over an hour wait in the drive thru. Watched 4 people including the manager walk around drink soda the whole time. Customer Service was a bare minimal, attitude the whole time. First and last time I will ever go there.

The worst place for fried chicken, ever! I was born in a third world country, so I've seen some crap but nothing compared to this horrible mess. I spent 25 minutes on the drive through BEFORE I was able to place my order, then after I placed my order I had to wait another 15 minutes to receive it! 40minutes in total! Want to know the worst part? I was dying to leave the place, but by the time I noticed the eternity in line, I already had 3 cars behind me so I just sat there, pondering my suicide. Not only did I wait this long for the Fastest Fast Food joint on this earth to order, the stupid (no other adjectives befit this person.. I tried) gave me the only attitude and sassed me so bad, I got out of the car and, well, let her have it along with the other two idiots that work there......... Why idiots? THEY MESSED UP MY ORDER!!!!! how the hell do you spend this time making the damn chicken and then you mess up my order?! Ugh, typing about this is giving me a stroke.....

GROSS. Coleslaw was bad - literally. Like gone bad. We told service ppl and they said they'd "look into it". That didn't happen. Food was ok - it's fast food... Service was lackluster... Just didn't care. But serving food that's gone bad when they know about it? No. No no no.

Popeye's has horrible service! I would spend my money here if someone gave me the same amount of money as a car. The fries and biscuits were good, but the ghost pepper wings were mild not spicy. A tip is: don't order more than 5 things unless you want it to take forever. :(

I can't stay away from the red beans and rice. I hadn't been here for about two years, but it was just as I remembered. This is one of the very few fast food franchises I go to. Something about the creamy beans and plump rice grains that sucker me in every time. I like the chicken too, especially the spicy version. A wing and a drumstick went down my neck on this visit too. Nice and tasty, and I've always gotten them piping hot.

Horrible service. Slow people. Rude. And wrong orders. Need new staff and faster service. They need new staff. That's all I'll say!

I believe this is the one and only Popeyes Chicken in Anchorage (Maybe in All of Alaska). The employees are sometimes rude, but common it is a fast food joint. I always ask for napkins when going through the drive through because they sometimes forget. The chicken keeps us coming back. The wait time is usually long but I think that is because they cook it as then need it, rather than cook a lot and have it sit under the heat lamp. The Chicken is always hot.

I love Popeye's. Recently discovered their Macaroni and Cheese and thought it was really delicious. Past tense: the last few times it was pretty disgusting and I witnessed tonight exactly why. The stuff apparently comes frozen and they dump it into a plastic container and pour a whole bunch of hot water into it effectively watering it down and it tasted like diluted macaroni and cheese soup. Done. No more.

I love Popeyes but this one location is the worst I've ever been to. Honestly the worst drive-thru overall that I have been to. My girlfriend was craving some chicken so we swing in for a quick order, or so we thought. There was only one car in the drive thru not even at the speaker and we had to wait about ten minutes before they took our order (by then two cars were behind us so we were trapped) but all we wanted was a three piece with one side, a sweet tea, and a gallon of sweet tea. We got to the window and sat, and sat, and sat. After about five minutes and paying they told us to pull around and park. We did, and sat, and sat, and sat. After another five minutes the car behind pulled in next to us and parked. After about five more minutes of bitching about the terrible service with our parking lot neighbors they brought out our food and our gallon of tea. We reminded her we also had a medium cup of tea thinking how long could it really take? She walked back inside, we sat, and sat, and sat. She was never to be seen again and we got fed up and just left. This place is awful. From now on when craving Popeyes we will just go to the one on base (about ten miles further away from our house) but at least they will get our order right and it will still take less time than going to this one (about a mile away from our house)

Went through one night around 10 or so, had 2 orders, waited over a half hour for our food, which was all cold, the staff was ignorant, didn't even make half of the order so had to wait an additional 5-10 for that. Workers kept coming and looking out the drive thru window like they were looking for their friends. Even after all off the waiting and hassle there were things missing from our order. NEVER AGAIN!!!!

good chicken, but very horrible service! Management is a failure at this place. The lady at the counter is really rude! Don't go here, unless you really really love fried chicken. Took me a hour to get a 8 piece combo the last time i went here.

I was tempted to give them two stars because their chicken is good. But, they only get one for RIPPING ME OFF. Went inside to order take out, place wasn't busy at all but still had to wait over 25 minutes for only a 12 piece meal w/ 2 sides. Finally got it, so we bolted home to dig in. Opened the box to see 7 wings and a few other pieces for a total of 13. Called the restaurant to complain and obviously the girl I spoke with remembered my order, saying they were short on breasts and so she gave me extra wings. What? Do I need to open the meal on your counter and do a frickin inventory? Their chicken is good, but not that good. If I wanted wings, I would have ordered them. Not going back.

Popeye's, the quintessential southern fried chicken is known around the south (where I'm from) as the best fried chicken, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that there was a Popeye's. Since I'm such a huge fan, I have made concessions with my review because they do have problems: 1) Drive Thru is far too slow. I have literally waited at the drive through for around 45 minutes one night. I would have left but they have concrete barricades that prevent you from leaving once someone has pulled in behind you. Talk about a captive audience! I have never been in the drive thru and it not take less than 25 minutes. Absolutely, g-d damn right, never go through the drive thru... as Apocalyptic Now's Cptn. Willard might say. 2)Check your food. If you love your food and you end up getting shafted, you'll loose your cool. Please, for everyone involved, check you food before you leave. Missing two breasts is a big deal, I know because they shafted me on this more than once. 3) Apathetic attitude. They could care less who you are and what you are doing. You revolve around their time frame and if they need to talk on their cell phone - be advised - you'll have to wait. All this being said, I do love their chicken (especially the red beans and rice). What can I say but that I'm a sucker for Popeye's. If they could tighten up with all the negatives, I'd regret it (in a good way) because I would be there more often. Postscript: I marked this as good for Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch, Dinner, Late Night and desert. After all, it's even better when it's cold!

The Popeyes on C Street has always been very fresh. The biscuits are light and fluffy. The chicken is fresh, crispy and seasoned just right. Much happier with my experiences here than with the one's we have down in El Paso. Not only that, but cost of Popeyes in the south is always more than the cost of Church's Chicken. Church's Chicken is considered "cheap" food in El Paso, however, they are much more expensive here than Popeyes. I can't fathom why. They don't come anywhere near the flavor and quality that Popeye's offers.

I know I've sorta ripped on Popeye's so i feel i must post this to tell of my latest visit. I was here last wed and i must say my experience was awesome and i hope they keep it up. When i was in line, i saw someone actually get their order before they were even done paying and mine was ready before i got done filling up my drink. Talk about service!!!! Keep it up because the food is always delish.
