Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

We got a small gyro pizza and the said delicious French dip sandwich with lemon chicken soup along with 2/3 Pitcher of Denali Mother Ale. The pizza was quite large for being a small, but the sandwich lacked meat and flavor. The soup was great! Service was fantastic but the food really lacked for me. Even the ale somehow seemed flavorless. I won't be returning.

Good place for a date night, had a great date with my Dad there! I had a slice of the Mama(something) pizza, fresh toppings, yummy sauce and my special order thin crust was perfect. My father had the biggest meat and cheese calzone I've ever seen.

Pizza Plaza is still my favorite place to get a gyro; the homemade bread & tzaziki sauce are the kickers! The side salad is still large and fresh. Pizza Plaza will stay on my rotation :)

Don't go! Wife had ravioli and it was frozen, I had stuffed shrimp and it had way too much salt. Add to that my broccoli was cold as well. I'm not sure why this happened and we were with a large party but cold or frozen food is not a good way to make a first impression. Would not recommend.

Caveat: Have only had their (vegetarian) pizza, once take-out, once dine-in. Both times the pizza was solidly good. Dine-in service was adequate. Place is pretty nicely decorated, and belies its strip-mall exterior.

My fiancé has been bragging about this place since we started dating. She said it had been a while since she are here so we decided to give it a try. Meal #1 I ordered the chicken fettuccini and the chicken was obviously precooked earlier in the day if not the day before, very rubbery and dry. The sauce was separated the moment it hit the table. Meal#2 I again tried the chicken fettuccini Alfredo but this time I opted for there signature white sauce (diroma) and the sauce was much better, too bad the chicken was dry and hard. Not burnt.... Just dry and hard (can you say cooked earlier in the week)? Meal#3(and the last ever) I ordered the recommended lasagna. Can you believe another poor dish? The moment it arrived I noticed cheese that had not melted yet. I picked up the porcelain boat and held it in my hands for about a half a minute.... My fingers should have been burned. I was served a cold lasagna that might as well Been from a box out of the Walmart freezer isle. The manager offered to cover half of the cost of the dish.... 1/2 ?!?!?!?? That's it? They charged me for that cold tasteless dish when even Denny's would have comped it. Bottom line..... Fake plants had 1/8" of dust on them, the dividers had old crusty food splattered on them, the food quality was half assed at best, and the owners/ management cares nothing about the customers experience. They have lost my business forever.

This was my second time visiting Pizza Plaza, and there was really not much of a difference from the first time. First off, our waitress was fantastic, definitely upbeat, friendly, nice and talkative. So yay for pizza plaza for hiring amazing servers who actually want to please the customer (or at least act like they do). For our meal we started out with the stuffed mushrooms appetizer, which were very good-maybe I'm being biased cause I'm a sucker for anything mushroom related. My dad ordered the shish ke bob which he LOVED. I ordered the italian chicken, which of course had mushrooms (I wasn't kidding guys). It was good, but man it just didn't look really appetizing. Maybe it was because the restaurant is dimly lit, but my meal just looked like shades of brown. Maybe if they added some color like green veggies or something, it'd look a lot better. Taste wise it was alright, wasn't something I'd recommend. Overall great service, food's okay, but definitely recommend the stuffed mushrooms.

Family favorite since way before I was even born. You wouldn't expect this place to be what it is by it's location or outside appearance. It's actually really nice inside! Delicious food and some of the best service I've had.

I have gone to pizza plaza several times and had good experiences, however this time was not as good as usual. The food was good, but in have never had worse service in my life. The waitress was not friendly when she greeted us. She led us to our booth and proceeded to bring us water, then take our orders and bring us food all in a timely manner. We ordered only 20 dollars worth of food total. As the one other couple in the entire restaurant left, my friend and I were the last people left in the place. She did not come to check on us what so ever, and we had to stare over to her multiple times to get her attention. When she ran my card, it was declined. She rudely came to tell me so, and I was surprised by her manner. We waited so long for her to come back so she could run it again that we had to walk over to her just to get her to run it and it worked perfectly fine. My friend left a small tip but I was not impressed with her service and her rudeness so I ran my amount up to the nearest dollar for her tip. We left the table and I stood outside for a moment to find my keys. This lady actually FOLLOWED us out and confronted us, not in any even remotely kind way whatsoever, and asked "was there something wrong with my service". I didn't want to initiate an argument so I said "no", she said "I'll take my tip then, fine" and Walked off. Now, I continued to look for my keys and she walked out again with them in her hand, "looking for this" she said in a repulsive tone dropping them into my hand "have fun". I have never been talked to in such a ride way by a complete stranger ever. I highly recommend against visiting around 8 on Wednesday nights when she works. She's the girl with the strawberry blonde hair and a dream catcher/bear tattoo on her forearm. And if you can avoid being seated and served by her- do. At all costs. It is not worth being chased out of the building after and snottily shrieked at for.

Standard food, nothing special. I ordered the cheese ravioli with meat sauce. It came with bread, which I was mighty disappointed in. The olive oil spread was uneven and each piece seemed to be half toasted, half not.

One of the better options Anchorage has. You can't get Chicago style pizza here but Pizza Plaza fills in. Dine in or have it delivered. Always hot and tasty!

Used to be "great" but 15 years later even the decor is the same. My spouse and I used to come here a lot when we lived in Anchorage - it's a slightly cheaper version of Villa Nova and it does serve veal which is getting harder and harder to find up here. I got a Greek salad at lunch and it was just mediocre. It was about $12 and it was just lettuce, squares of feta (I HATE that - it is so lazy of the chef), onion, pepperocini and tomato with kalamata olives. The house dressing I heard some people rave about, so I tried it. It's like a cross between thousand island and italian. I would have rather had a good olive oil housemade italian but oh well. The bread basket was just dried out, toasted baugette with some kind of oil spray and herbs on it. Service was good and I saw people eating pizza that looked really good but I doubt I will be going back. Funny how some places should never change (like diners) but some places need to keep updating...this place is stuck in the 80s. I think Italian places are guilty of this more often than not. We can all ponder the reasons why I guess.

Anchorage's Best Kept Secret! Small restaurant tucked in an unassuming corner of a strip mall with a mis-leading name and barely any signage. Wonderful food, romantic atmosphere but still upbeat enough to bring friends or family, excellent service and the price is always right! Yes they're pizza is great, but their house special is French Dip and is just divine! Great wine selection and a staff that is knowledgeable of it. This place rocks!

I'm not sure where the other reviewers ate, but I ate at this cheeseball-stripmall restaurant on Saturday night (4/23/11) and the food was nasty! I did not have pizza but did have the chicken marsala. There is no doubt that the chicken was frozen when it was cooked. It tasked like cardboard and the pasta had a white sauce (certainly not alfredo). I think I could have had a better meal at the Olive Garden. I will not go back. Gross!

Yum, yum, yum. This has got to be my favorite italian restaurant. It's a small family owned joint thats been around forever. From the outside you wouldn't think twice, but once you take a bite... oh goodness gracious. The stuffed mushrooms are to die for, make sure you soak up the sacue with some bread before they take the plate away. The calzones are huge, and pasta always piping hot. I've never had a bad experience there yet, even with larger groups everyone is happy.

Ordered with a bunch of friends last weekend, their choice, warned them that the place was shady, &didn't care a teensy bit about customer satisfaction. Some random guy (my friends crazy cousin) claimed he had once had their food, and it "wasn't horrible." &i just waited for the delivery somewhat quietly...&then laughed in everyone's faces when it was uneatable&smashed and greasy nasty gross. Hot foods mixed with cold ones.&when we got hung up on multiple times when we called to ask what had happened, and were told no refunds were possible....then all I did was calmly say, "I told y'ou so."

good italian in a strip mall really really good eggplant parmesan and the chicken lemon soup is better here than most other italian/greek places in town.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
