Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

The best!! Amazing gyro sandwich! So fresh!! Also incredible avgolemono soup!! Lastlt they have the best baklava ever, it's unreal!! Wonderful people! A family owned restaurant. One of the most friendly restaurants I've ever been! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

DELICIOUS!! Love this place. Food takes a bit but you can't rush perfection and everything is always perfect. Athena, the owner I think, is usually my server so the service is great and I love the hugs too! Dolmades and their Greek Spaghetti are to die for.

Have always had great service every time I have gone here, and some of the best food in Anchorage. And nicest people.

Yikes! I went here for the first time this week and tried the gyro. Instead of a traditional gyro, the gyro was served on focaccia style bread with bland tzatziki and one sliver of onion and tomato. It was flavorless to say the least - not to mention the hair I found in it. Would not recommend and will not be going back. Oh, and it took almost 1.5 hours to get our food, eat and pay.. We were one of two tables in the restaurant. Sloooow service.

Went here for my birthday. Have lived in Anchorage for years and years and always heard of this place but never visited it. I had heard rave reviews for their Gyro's and just wanted to try one and check it out. First let me say they are enormous, and made on their own special bread rather then the traditional pita bread. I have to say they were delicious! Best Gyro I've ever had! The bread was crispy and so yummy, the lamb was seasoned just right, and the Tzatziki sauce was wonderful. Sometimes its just too sour or off, but theirs was just right. They gave me a bowl of spumoni ice cream with a sparkler for my birthday too! Spumoni ice cream was always my dads favorite and I haven't had "real, authentic" tasting spumoni since I was a young child. It was very good and brought back a lot of memories for me. We will definitely be going back again and trying some of the other things on the menu for sure!

Slow service and terrible food with high prices. I'm not sure how this place has higher reviews than one star.

I STRUGGLE with giving these guys a 3. I want to give them a 2.5. The food is good. It's higher quality than a lot of other pizzerias and they are about the only "Greek" styled joint in town besides Little Italy. But I sit here waiting for a delivery order that was supposed to be here an hour ago. AN HOUR AGO. And it wasn't complicated - it was a Greek salad for Ch+*$t's sake. I also didn't want to bring it up, but the last time I ordered a gyro from them, I bit into a plastic "ring". The thing that comes off any plastic bottle when it's newly opened. I didn't want to go there....but I just did. The truth is, I set the plastic aside and ate the gyro anyway. I just wish these guys upped the ante a few notches. I want to see them stick around, but my confidence is shaken.

The Greek Salad is excellent & made for two - so far the best salad that I have had in Anchorage. We also split a Gyro which was presented calzone style rather than in pita bread. I must say it was quite good and not as messy as the traditional style. They also brought out garlic bread that was crispy-not soggy and very tasty! At the conclusion of our meal, they gave us their traditional "Christmas Bread." They make over 3000 loaves of their bread and give it to their customers from Thanksgiving through New Years. It was a very nice touch. I am very surprised that this place wasn't packed during lunch, but I believe it's because people think that this is just a pizza joint. I'm coming back soon and will review the pizza as I saw two awards for "Best Pizza" in Anchorage.

Difficult to rate, but to summarize: Pretty good food (some was very good) but overshadowed by inaccurate and incredibly SLOW service. I just took a small group (seven total) to lunch as a going away gift for a coworker and even though I called ahead and the table was ready for us when we arrived (and no one was in the restaurant besides us) it took nearly AN HOUR to actually get our food after ordering. By then we needed it packed immediately to go. We were then informed by the presumed owner (an older European sounding woman) that everything is made from scratch so next time we should order ahead, but that she appreciates our business. Puzzled as to why the restaurant offers sit-down service with no sort of disclaimer about the length of time you should expect to wait, we left with our hastily packaged to-go bag and assorted wrapped gyros. When we returned to the office to then eat at our desks we discovered that the order was inaccurate and a couple people had to eat something completely different than what was ordered. For what it's worth, the gyro is excellent but probably not worth the wait. Instead of enjoying a fun goodbye lunch with our friend we were forced to sit hungrily and anxiously before rushing out the door with a weird, "it's your fault for not knowing better" attitude from the owner. Won't go back.

the best gyros I've ever had, and their baklava was delicious as well. I think ive gone here with my boyfriend about 2 or 3 times now, the first waitress we got when he first brought me here gave off a weird snobby vibe but the food made up for it, and every time so far after the first experience we've gotten who I believe to be the owner (an older lady) who gives tons of big nice hugs haha :]

The first two times I ate at Pizza Olympia it was okay. I enjoyed sitting in the quiet booths and I didn't mind the slower service because we were not in any hurry. The food was not stand-out exceptional, but it was satisfactory. The third time, however, I took a friend from out-of-town, and it was a disaster. After ordering, our dinner did not arrive for at least 45 minutes! The steak I ordered was terrible, with large chunks of tough gristle. My friend's dinner was average; not worth such a long wait. For the price, to me it isn't worth the risk of another meal like that so I've never returned.

I ate here for the first time last night with a friend of mine and we had a lovely experience. The food was good and I will be back to try more. I would recommend this place to my friends to check out. They have a patio that was too shady last night to be comfortable but nice and sunny at lunch I bet. The service was great. The women who took care of us was one of the owners and she was very friendly and helpful. She made several recommendations which were delicious. I had the Moussaka and it wasn't the best I've had but it was tasty all the same. My friend had grilled meat on a skewer and it was also tasty. Go try it I think you'll be pleased.

We come here and every time before we leave we get a hug from them. It's a comfortable environment and they have the best house dressing for salad. Anything you get here will taste authentic and Greek.

I am thoroughly excited that Jacob gave this place five stars, and likes the place. It is always good to make a good impression on visitors to Anchorage, however, I am tending to agree with Evelyn on this. Pizza Olympia is not what it used to be, and I don't know how it happened. The food is good, the service is very slow, and deliveries are slower. But if you are in the market for some good Greek Food, and have the time to wait, then by all means try it. I just wouldn't ask for delivery.

Pizza Olympia has been around for ages. It's right across the street from REI and I would see it whenever I was in the area. For my birthday, I was in need of something that would appease the masses and still appeal to me. After my initial restaurant was closed the day I thought of Pizza Olympia. I made the reservation. The lady I spoke to was seriously Greek, and so sweet. We had a group of six which they easily accommodated. There is parking in front and in the rear. If you look head on, it looks like there's no parking, but just go around the side if its busy. From the time we entered, we were seriously being catered to. The hard part was that I had to act like a translator for my family because of the heavy Greek accent. Why do I understand? I have no clue, but it works. I go the baked ravioli which was great. My mom got the greek lasagne, which she raved about. My dad got the greek steak which had whole cloves of garlic through it (yeah, he was happy!), and seriously I forgot what everyone else had. My dad asked for horseradish, which they didn't understand what he was asking for. The lovely lady came up with three different sauces to see if anything would suffice for him. We have never had anybody go so out of their way to make sure that he was satisfied. Even without the horseradish, he was good to go. For dessert, they brought out spumoni with a sparkler for me, which was soo good!! And then they brought out some seriously good baklava, which is my husbands favorite dessert. I know that the owners of this restaurant help with the Greek festival here in town, and I do not know if they make the baklava for the festival, but this was even better. The lady that I spoke to for our reservation came by our table a couple of times and made sure that everything was perfect. In a whole, this family made me question why I stopped coming to this place. So good food, great service, good atmosphere. Not the place to go if you need to be on a strict diet, but maybe your day off for the week. Did I mention it was worth it? Oh yeah!!

This place is awesome. Wish we had found it sooner. True European style place with a delightful lady named Athena who kept good her promise to make it a night we will remember. Not a place to be in a hurry. Settle in and make it special. Well worth the price and not all that expensive in comparison to other places that offer less. Dont miss this place!

Our server came in the form of a visibly intoxicated old Greek woman who checked our id's and walked away with them. We had to ask for them back ..twice. The service was very slow. In fact, I think she had completely forgotten about us until she heard us complaining. The food however, was excellent, if a bit overpriced. The ambiance was nice, and I could see myself coming back after having a few next door at the Buckaroo.

They are, without a doubt, the best in the business for quality Greek cuisine. I frequent this place on occasion and every single time they continue to impress me. In fact my entire family loves this place and whenever they come into town Pizza Olympia is the only restaurant they will dine at. I assure you this is the real deal when it comes to authentic Greek cooking. Authenticity that you won't find anywhere else. Try the saganaki, then you'll know what I'm talking about.

I completely forgot to write about this restaurant when I visited it a few months back. Unfortunately, if I could give it zero stars, I would. I've been here a few times in the past & it's been pretty good, it's just gone way downhill & kinda reminds me of a restaurant trying to hold onto it's former glory. For starters, the place is pretty dirty & looks like it's barely able to keep itself up anymore. It could definitely use a good deep clean & maybe a dusting?? I'm all about hole in the wall joints, but they key would be good food. Let's start from the beginning....a group of us went & were immediately seated & we immediately ordered 2 bottles of wine & an appetizer from a friendly, older male server (take note of server, you'll understand in a sec). The wine came, he poured, we drank, drank some more & ordered a bunch of entrees (I think we were 3 or 4).Sometime after ordering our meals, an older women (the original owner perhaps?) came over & asked us what we would be having for dinner...again. Right before our salads came, I noticed our original server standing in the kitchen/waitstaff area looking at our table, shaking his head, & putting his jacket on (he left shortly afterwards, I assume, since I no longer saw him). When our salads arrived, it was a new server. Our entrees arrived but it was the older woman who served them this time (I seriously thought she might lose a few plates). I feel bad for saying this, because she really was just a sweet old woman, but she continued to show up at our table every 10 minutes to see if everything was all right (when does it stop being cute & start being annoying?) So, then came the food. I will say this, the other 2 guys I was there with enjoyed their entrees. I, however, took two bites & was done. I had the calamari pasta entree. Maybe I was expecting something entirely different, but it literally was a handful of heavily salted fried calamari (ya know, the appetizer kind) on a plate with overcooked spaghetti & a side of what tasted like canned marinara sauce (Paul Newman's is way better). My response, "Is this Greek?". By the time we were done, we had about 3 different servers attending to us, not one of them being the original dude (1.the older possibly drunk woman, 2.possibly the daughter of the family, & 3.another random server). It was then that I found out from the non-related-to-the-restaurant-server that the older woman/owner had decided to take over our table because she saw us ordering a bunch of wine & food. Honestly, sucks for the male server. He got screwed & he knew it. I would've been pissed to.

Best Greek in anchorage. A nice family restaurant but they should consider hiring some help. Wait staff is friendly but more wait staff would enhance the experience. Lunch sandwiches are awesome.

And I thought this was just a little pizza joint across from REI.... I was really surprised at how much it looked like a fine dining establishment rather than a place to grab a slice for lunch. The owner kept trying to join in the conversation which was slightly awkward, but I know the hearts in the right place. Warning: the calzones are monstrously huge...you'll be eating yours for lunch today and tomorrow! I had a risotto that was creamy and light. Lastly, lunch will be at least $10 a place, so its definitely moderate.

Greek Cuisine

Greek food is a fine melody of the finest pressed olive oil, fresh fermented bread, colorful vegetables, juicy meat, sea food all cooked in spices and fresh rosemary. The people from Greek were great scholars who aimed to excel in everything they do. The results are quite visible in their food as they are the inventors of olive oil which is beneficial to health. Greeks also made different type of wines from the best quality of grapes fermented in controlled environment.

Today, you can find hundreds of restaurants offering authentic Greek food or popularly termed as Mediterranean cuisine in New York city alone. People wait in line to taste the exotic Greek dishes like saganaki, taramasalata, souvlaki, loukoumades, spanakopita, moussaka, and many more. One thing which most people like about these authentic Greek dishes is abundant use of lemon juice, olive oil, fresh rosemary and sea salt. A smart mix of few ingredients can virtually take you on the pebble streets of beautiful city of Greece.

For those who don't have time to enjoy fine dining should try tasting the famous souvlaki with pita which is type of meat dish, also a trademark Greek fast food. For those who are vegetarian, or vegan can try different versions of Greek Salad. So, if you wish to enjoy a hearty yet healthy meal that tastes divine then try dining at the best Greek restaurant in your city. Greek cuisine not only tastes good but also help maintain your body in a natural way through healthy diet.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
