The broth of the pho used to be good but I think a new owner took over this place. Don't get me wrong the food is still good and the location is convenient being right outside JBER Muldoon gate. I usually order pho or the lemon grass chicken. Like I said the lemon grass chicken was cooked with the right spices, this time there was something missing. The place still way too small to handle a busy lunch hour and would again suggest for the owner to expand this place. 3.5/5 stars!

Absolutely nothing impressive here. The egg rolls had very little flavor. The broth was no hot, it was warm but not almost boiling as it is in Pho everywhere. The service was robotic.

The fact that I have to give them a star at all is so painful. THEY HAVE THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. I ordered a dish specifically asking that they put no peanuts. The waiter understood but when I took a few bites I started developing hives everywhere. The peanuts were finely chopped into my dish so I didn't even notice until I started eating! I asked to speak with the manager and they told me they didn't know who the manager was! They didn't offer ANY solutions nor did they even attempt to make the situation better. I reported them to the Better Business Bureau and spread my story all over Facebook. Turns out my friends felt the same way about them. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I spent that night bent over the toilet because of their negligence. A**HOLES. Never again.

NOBODY go to Pho Saigon in Tikahtnu. My gf and I both ordered pad thai and specifically asked for no peanuts because she's severely allergic to them. After a few bites of her pad thai, her face started breaking out. Right away she asked them to remake it free of charge but they refused to do that. She wanted to speak with the manager but they said he wasn't there. So she asked for the manager's name and number but they wouldn't even give her that. They even said "We don't know the manager's name." We stormed out and we'll never eat there again. Michelle's sick to her stomach and has hives on her lips. What kind of crap is that! How do they away with this?! HOW DO YOU NOT GIVE YOUR MANAGER's NAME/NUMBER/!!

When we're in the Muldoon area around lunch, we usually stop in here. I always have great service, but we normally are here on weekends. I bet being so close to base it could get swamped during the weekdays though. The last time I was in I got the Saigon Dry Noodles and I thought it was fantastic! I also like their fried eggrolls. If I want Pho, I truly like their meatball pho too! All in all, the place is nice, and I find the service to be on point each time I go.

Very small restaurant. We came here on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty packed. Service is good and food comes out pretty fast. They serve wonton soup here which was decent. For once, someone in Anchorage uses real wontons instead of labeling dumplings as wontons. The lotus salad is very delicious and refreshing as well. Overall, its a great place to stop by for a bite to eat after shopping around in the plaza.

No complaints at all. I'm surprised I hadn't eaten here sooner! I was always skeptical but I am glad I gave it a chance when a friend suggested that we eat here. The place itself is conveniently located near lots of shopping opportunities. There's other great places to around here too. But give this place a try. The place itself is very small but they sure made good use of their space! It's nice because you don't feel like your crammed in there like a sardine....it's just right. But maybe I felt comfortable because I chose a booth. We arrived sometime around 3 or 4 pm (just before the dinner time rush). It was perfect timing. It was not too crowded. We were warmly welcomed by a gentleman with a welcoming smile; The kind that made you feel right at home and ready for some Pho! For this early dinner I ordered the Vegetable stir fry with shrimp. It comes with white rice. It tasted delicious. The stir fry sauce was not overpowering and really complimented the shrimp and veggies. I devoured the entire thing. I enjoyed my meal so much that by the time I remembered to post a picture for you I was almost finished...and no one wants to see that. So I owe you one! :-). We also ordered the egg rolls for the table. It comes with 4 pieces. They were crunchy and fresh! The sauce that accompanied it was flavorful but it was watery instead of saucy. It was still enjoyable, but with a group of friends it was hard to get sauce on the eggroll without it dripping and we weren't provided with small plates for sharing. I totally overlooked that though and was not a big deal, although I can see others having a problem with this. Also don't expect the waiter to ask how your food is. I'm not sure if it's a cultural thing but in my experience at other restaurants of this kind you don't really get the waiter coming to check on you every 10 min. Here, they let you be and I can appreciate that...but then again I didn't need anything. The prices were very reasonable. You can't beat $12 for a decent portion of stir fry with shrimp. I was very pleased with this. It was refreshing to see reasonable prices in Anchorage because I usually find myself paying $25 on a meal just for myself. This little place is packed with flavor and very good prices. I'm so glad I gave this place a try. I'm looking forward to trying some other items on the menu. Hopefully you'll have a good experience here too. Oh my goodness and as I read over my review I forgot to mention. Try their natural juices! Holy moly they are just fantastic! I had the carrot juice and it was just fantastic. They also have other fresh squeezed juices like pineapple and pineapple with orange, etc. There. I think I covered all the points ! :-)

My husband and I love this place! I get a small chicken pho....the large has a lot of noodles. They're panang curry is also delicious, which surprised me since it's hard for restaurants to pull off two types of ethnic foods!

  • Ketmany S.

I prefer this location over the one inside the Dimond mall. The menu is larger and more conveniently located. They are really packed on the weekends so expect a bit of a wait, but there's lots around the plaza to entertain while you wait. The pho here is good, if you can't eat an entire bowl ask for a small or a half order. I personally love the beef Panang curry! It's my second favorite in town. They offer military discounts!

  • Rory S.

Do not ever use their delivery service. The drivers do not speak English very well and do not understand directions. Will never order from here again.

  • Desiree M.

The prices here are much better than other Pho in Anchorage. I would say this place is not the best pho by any means but isn't the worst. I believe the pho is lacking flavor in their broth, it is more watery with color than with taste. I tried the veggie pho and did like the veggies in the pho. The service was really good. I did however try to get the military discount and even tried to pull what Kent H. did with his driver's license and i mentioned that I was a veteran, but you have to be active duty and not a dependent to receive their discount. I would not come here again, just because their are so many other pho places to try and ones I would def choose over this mediocre cooking. I guess if your looking for pho close to base this is for you.

This is a cozy Vietnamese Restaurant conveniently located in one of my favorite shopping complexes in Anchorage. I ordered the Pho Tai Bo Vien, which was aromatic, filling, and very satisfying. Adding anything extra like hoisin sauce or sriracha was not necessary. Fresh herbs and beans sprouts were generously provided on the side! The service was also great and attentive! I look forward to coming back for my next Pho fill :)

Really good place to get quality and genuine vietnamese food. Had the beef pho with spicy broth, tofu something(i forgot the exact name), my boyfriend Com thit bow? Steak with plain white rice and fried egg. Too bad the server forgot The egg. The avocado shake, ill give it a 7 out of 10. Too Much milk.

Overall, I didn't think I would find Pho in Anchorage, but here it is! The place is pretty modern looking and clean. I ordered the pho and thought it was okay at best. Round eye beef was somewhat tough and the broth was okay at best. I like it a tad bit more salty. Plus, I love it when it's steaming hot - felt it was lukewarm. I also ordered a Vietnamese sandwich to go. If I was really hungry this thing would have been awesome, but in the end I wasn't. My complaint about it; too much bread not enough protein. In the end, I can appreciate some comfort food in Anchorage and Pho Saigon will do the job. - Enjoy!

This place had some of the best food I have ever had. The egg drop soup was the best by far I've ever had. The pad see ew was so good also. The garlic dipping sauce for the egg rolls for me was not good but the egg rolls were great. The only thing was the service was horrible!!! It took 15 minutes before he came to take our order. Then he forgot to make my egg drop and bring it to me! He only filled our water once and for me thats not enough because I drink a ton! I would give this place 5 stars but the service cut this to 4 stars!

First time here. It was packed at lunchtime with lots of GIs from the base next door. I really liked it! Good broth, excellent variety for everyone, and prompt service. The tab for three of us was only 30 bucks, so it's a good value too. Not on my end of town, but I will go again when in that part of the world.

Have had takeout from here twice and just dined-in recently. Pho take-out here is good and ingredients are fresh. I'm a fan. The dine in experience wasn't great. My BF and I came in late afternoon on a Saturday, there was 1 table available. Our waitress promptly took our order. The weird thing is she brought out BF's spring rolls but not mine. Then she brought our his entree before I had anything. Eventually my entree arrived and THEN my spring rolls. They rate their hotness on a scale of 1-5. I opted for a 3 and it was pretty damn warm. Glad I didn't go higher. Menu is extenstive. Lots of options (including vegetarian ones!)

My cousin introduced me to Pho Saigon, a Vietnamese restaurant located in the Tikkatnu Center a few minutes outside of Anchorage. The restaurant serves various types of pho and rice dishes, all priced around $10-$12. Here are some of our favorite dishes: Saigon Dry Noodle - cooked noodles that are seasoned with spices and served with pork and shrimp with a bowl of broth on the side. Pho Tai - rice noodle soup with thinly sliced, rare eye of round steaks. Panang Tofu - mixed vegetables stewed in Panang curry and coconut milk served with rice. This was my favorite of all the dishes. The curry is very flavorful and had the right amount of spice.

very very good! evertyhing I have tried is delicious. The Egg Roll and Chicken is so yummy but it does take some time to get it to your table. It's so worth the wait. My husband is a huge fan of Pho and he says this is the BEST Pho in town! As far as Anchorage goes, this is one of the best Vietnamese Restaurants in town.

Don't go here for the pho, not worth the +$10 it costs. Although the atmosphere was nice.

Compared to their other location in Dimond, this is a little nicer. With updated decor and better ambiance, it earns a star morethan the Dimond location. Service is ok, food is ok, and wait time? Expect about 20-25mins for your food. Overall, nothing too special.

First pho restaurant my husband and I went to when we arrived to Anchorage, AK. I thought this place was pretty good. If you're in for Vietnamese food and in the Muldoon area, go there. I mainly get the pho soup, combo and spring rolls. =D

    (5)
  • John S.

I'm only a first-timer here, but the decor in Pho Saigon is very nice, and the food even better. My spring rolls were some of the best I've ever had. The Saigon Steak was good; a bit thin, but the price was also low at $13. Service was nothing special, but no complaints. Super large menu. There are about 20 appetizer selections alone!

Very busy lunch hours. Friendly service. They should have left the meat out to thaw at least cause I tasted the freezer. I'll give them another chance though.

Did I go on a bad night? The decor is nice for a strip mall place, however nice stopped there. The spring rolls had dry chicken and the sauce was like paste. My dining partner agreed it was horrible. I ordered the garlic chicken stir-fry, was not bad but not great. My partner had the Pad-Thai which was a disaster. The noodles were angel hair! That was a first. We started to chalk it up to a bad experience until my dining partner got sick. We were paying when I looked up and he was white...needless to say he spent the next few hours purging.

I think it's one of the best pho places in town. Be sure to ask for your military discount. The only thing wrong with the tikatnu location is that is there this Vietnamese dude who seems to always work the register. Let's just say he's not the friendliest dude. I mean, not at all. I mean, he might be the Debbie downer of this awesome restaurant. I mean, u might as well order your stuff for pick up (that way your clothes won't smell like awesomeness).

    (4)
  • Katie B.

I come here all the time for pho and it's always awesome. Today I tried the Tofu Pho and added extra veggies. Although they were fresh and well-prepared, I was a little disappointed by the vegetables they included (cabbage, white onions, green bell pepper, red bell pepper, and a tiny bit of carrots). It was tasty, but it would have been a lot better if there was a wider variety of veggies or if they used better soup-veggies, like more carrots, snow peas and broccoli. Still tasty, just not my fave.

pretty excited to see vegan pho on the menu! it was a delicious mushroom broth and a lot of tasty veggies. good spring rolls too! in a mall with only crappy chain food, this was a welcome sight before our movie.

I gotta give this place 4 stars based on the food alone. Super fresh and tasty. Had the fresh spring rolls (#1) and a pork/vermicelli salad bowl (#54...I think). Being from Seattle, this is a bit more than I'm used to spending on good Vietnamese food. If I lived here I'd be a regular.

Great food, nice setting, good location. Server could be more attentive. Slightly pricey but good size portions. Delicious crab won tons but Not your typical crab won ton. The won ton itself is excellent but the filling was green...?

DELICIOUS! My only complaint is the place is so tiny! If it's packed you gotta wait!

Prompt and polite service, whether you drop in to eat or call in an order ahead of time. Give them a try the next time you visit the area to shop or see a movie.
