BECKY WAS AWESOME! We were passed off to her because our server "had to leave". Although, throughout the course of our meal he was sitting talking to a couple across the room from us. His lose, definitely our gain. Becky was patient and had answers for my 3000 questions. She even offered suggestions that were phenomenal. I gave them a 3 star is because my husband and I both ordered the filet medium. His came out medium rare and mine can out med well. I also was warned about the garlic herb shrimp being small. I should've listened. They were overcooked also. On top of the fact that gave me 2 halves of a jumbo prawn that was supposed to be a lobster tail. All in all the food wasn't bad but it also wasn't what was represented on the advertising. Unless they used a telephoto lens for the pics!

Had a wonderful early dinner experience. Our hostess was very friendly and courteous and we were seated immediately. Our waitress was on her game and very attentive too! She paid attention to the small details such as replenishing our blooming onion sauce. Our cups were never empty and there was always bread :-) As far as the food goes, I ordered the blooming onion and man oh man, it was on point today! It was nice and crunchy! I also ordered the half rack of baby back ribs. It was very tasty and delicious but I was disappointed that the meat did not fall off the bone. I still enjoy dining here and have had no issues thus far. Sorry I did not have a chance to post pictures, but I was huuuuuun-gry and devoured my meal.

My husband and I came in for a later dinner. I can't even begin to say how impressed and happy we were with our service. The staff and management were very friendly and it was genuine. When we got my steak it was still really pink (I don't like seeing any pink) I was just going to try to eat it and the waitress offered to cook it longer for me. After saying yes and waiting only a couple moments, the manager brought I back out with a fresh side (I had already half eaten the original side that was brought out) Then the waitress came back to check on us as well. We always love to come in for a good steak and we will definitely be back!

    - ordered a ribeye they claimed it was well marbled. It's was cooked to the right temp a perfect medium the but steak was just a horrible cheap cut of ribeye. Overpriced and took way too long to get it out to us. Wife ordered a filet mignon asked for it t

It was great. The food and service was good. The waitress was able to suggest food that was in line with my particular food diet so that my alergies wouldn't effect me. I can't have gluten or dairy. So it was nice they were able to suggest food that went along with that.

Had a fine dinner last night. Servers are great & work hard to please customers. Reasonable prices. All ages enjoyed. I had fillet, salad, sweet potato, wine, friend enjoyed potato soup, rice, veggies, sirloin, virgin Margarita! We'll teturn‼

Terrible experience here. The only good thing about this was the salad to be honest. We had the calamari as a starter. They were super rubbery. My fish and chips were alright, the tarter sauce was not really fresh and had a noticable browning on top of the dish. Yuck. Terrible experience, go elsewhere.

The Victoria cut was sooo tender n good. Only one complaint. . More of a concern. .. we got the king crab legs and I was disappointed. Not having fresh seafood in ak doesn't fit.. Will be back soon.

The worst service I have ever had in Anchorage! I have been to this location since 2004 and 1/12/15 was my last visit! There aren't many quality places to eat in Anchorage at a fair price, so Outback is an option. Now, I live in Seattle and am a business traveler with decent expectations of the place I used to visit frequently for the past 10 years. I sat at a table near the bar and nobody greeted me for 10 minutes. It was not busy in there. The waitress walked by me multiple times. The bartender had to intervene to get me a menu. Water and bread was not offered, as I had to ask for it as if I was a nuisance to go to Outback. Please do not waste your time here! I simply wanted decent service. I had my laptop on checking e-mails from customers and also doing some paperwork and grabbing a cocktail, but everyone blew me off for 10 minutes. Either is was the color of my skin or it was that I was a business traveler doing work and eating dinner at the same time and was not good enough for this establishment. I highly doubt that as this place has gone down hill! Tables around me were getting bread and water, but not me unless I interrupted the waitress walking by.

As every other chain restaurant in Alaska, this Outback is a shell of what an Outback should be. The service was decent, but all of the food was half-assed. Alaska seriously needs to learn about quality and customer service...this Outback is a disgrace in comparison to any of the other stores I've been in.

After a failed attempt to eat across the street at Buffalo Wild Wings, we took our famished selves to Outback. This was a first for me, so I didn't know what to expect. Our server, who had obviously had some excellent training by corporate, made our dining experience very smooth. Drinks were served promptly, as we refills, our meal and dessert. The food was good, the portions were appropriate and everything was as expected. I wasn't wowed, but I wasn't displeased. The menu is limited, so as far as chains go, TGIF's has a much more extensive menu. I had the chicken/rib and shrimp combo. The chicken was good, but slightly overcooked, but moist enough. Good flavor. Very tasty fries. Ribs fell off the bone. My sweetie's steak was cooked to order as he liked, baked potato was smaller than expected though. NY Cheesecake was very tasty and moist, just like back home. The margarita--which I had an extra shot added to for only an additional 50 cents- knocked me on my ass. Nathan's IPA was ginormous, but also cost $8. The restaurant was clean, but the hightop stools were super uncomfortable. The rungs on the chairs are in the wrong place and unless you're a tall dude, your feet dangle. Wish I had sat a booth. The mounted aligator was super cool. And who knew there were so many kinds of kangaroos. A-OK experience.

Call me bias but Outback has the same quality at all there restaurants. When I'm on the road and I want my steak done right with all the spices I just keep coming back to Outback. Service was great. Keep up the good work mates!

It's been over a decade since I visited an Outback Steakhouse. I never harbored any ill memories of them. I simply found the experience precisely meh. I think I'd have gone with three stars if it wasn't for the high price point. I just found everything to be okay. The blooming onion had onion paper in it, which was unpleasant when I got a bite of it, and there was a fair amount of oil on the plate. My 6oz sirloin and shrimp, at $21, had a vein of grizzle in it and was a little on the tough side for sirloin. The shrimp were unremarkable, but not "bad". My garlic mashed potato was okay, but just okay. Overall, I can't say the food was bad, it just wasn't GREAT. I'm not sure if it is just this location, or the chain in general. I wouldn't have a problem if the price points were a little lower.

Dear Outback waiters and waitresses, When a customer asks for A1 steak sauce, automatically offer to replace the steak. A1 serves one purpose in life, to make boot leather palatable. Good sides, appetizers, and drinks. But good night, hire a cook who knows how to cook a steak.

This was my first visit to outback steak house. After we were seated it took about 5 min before our waitress came to our table. She was not very knowledgeable about the menu. My wife's order was missing 3 ingredients from her salad. (Chicken, corn & bacon). The server when we finally got her attention acknowledged that, went to get the bacon and corn. By the time she brought the chicken she was all done. She did give us a free dessert. The prices are high and every thing is Alacart. Don't think we will go back.

I came with a friend for dinner, her choice, as I've been before but thought it was nothing special. We ordered cheesy fries for appetizer, I ordered rib eye, rare to med rare, and friend ordered grilled shrimp/filet combo, medium. Her steak was more med well to well and mine just med rare. She mentioned this and showed the steak when I requested a box, and he gave us a free desert. I have to say the service was super stellar, and we enjoyed ourselves. I had no idea this place could get so slammed. She made us reservations which I thought was odd. Nope, she knew this place would be kickin' at 7PM on a Friday night. Surprise surprise. Noticed a lot of people wearing camoflauge and had confederate flags on some of the trucks, maybe there was a red neck meeting I didn't know about? Jokes jokes. Will come again if it's ever suggested.

This Outback is great. Good quality food and excellent service. Compared to the standard drab fare and slow service at most restaurants in Alaska - this place is top-notch. This Outback also has the best prices in town - especially on Alaska King Crab. The manager here is from California and is respected and liked by the staff. He is very interested in supplying his restaurant locally with the freshest ingredients he can find. This is one time when going to a chain restaurant is actually the best thing to do.

There is nothing redeeming about this joint and its a bad reflection on what the original Outbacks were like. Everything about this place screams that it should be reviewed by any restaurant/food/ health organization possible. After three visits, trying to give it "another chance", I'm done. Service is terrible, food is disgusting- it's not fresh, sauces have browning atop as in old/aged and dried out; steak cuts are poor and meat cooked incorrectly; halibut appeared to be a crusted, frozen piece of fish that was dry and tasteless. Salads seemed to have been frozen (perhaps they were made in advance and held in a frig with temps too cold, freezing the lettuce); overall just gross. If I could give it a half star, I would. Awful. Did I mention the service? No check on good and drinks- waited twenty minutes to get ketchup; had to flag someone else to get more water. Checks came all together with no question of how 3 people would prefer it and when asked to divide it, wait staff was huffy. Never again.

I was craving a steak and a salad this weekend and thought "Why not get Outback to-go." I was rather impressed with the service and the food yet again. I did not know that they have a camera that watches your vehicle pull up which prompts them to bring the food right out to your car. I ended up going in and picking my food up as I did not know the system, but now that I know they recognize a car when it pulls up and will bring it out, I will be sure to see if the process actually works next time. Pretty nifty. The food was great and filled my steak craving. A great chain restaurant that strives to make guests happy. I would definitely recommend this place.

For my first time coming here, I am most definitely not impressed. Slow service and can't even get orders right and it's burnt. For a place that gets soo much hype on tv you would think try would reach that bar. Hell they don't even come close to that. Save yourself this bad experience and go some where else. I know I would.

Chain restaurants strive to keep quality consistent. Whether it be an Outback in Dallas or Anchorage, the consumer expects to receive the same experience. I'm happy to say that the beef here is just as good as any other Outback I've visited. Last night, I posted a review about my experience at a locally owned Mongolian BBQ. Tonight, I went out with the same two friends, and they were hungry for cow. They decided on Outback and I readily agreed since they were buying : ) I like the fact that they have a hostess to open the door for you when you arrive and the service was consistently nice throughout the visit. Two of us had the 9 ounce filet, medium rare, perfectly cooked. I usually order rare because most chefs overcook their steaks, but I know that Outback chefs know their stuff and I was right. It was cut with a fork tender and just divine. Our other friend had the 9 ounce sirloin with a baked sweet potato which is a rare side. The three of us amigos left very happy and would do it again in a heartbeat.

So far I have had no real problems with this place. The staff for the most part has always been friendly, minus someone here and there of course. Same goes for the food, I have only had maybe one or two meals that weren't that great. Other then minor things here and there it's a good place to have dinner with the family.

Normally I consider Outback a pricey place, but the Anchorage one is quite a bargain seeing how expensive everywhere else is. The quality surpassed even what we are used to. We are regular patrons of Outback here in San Diego. We found the staff at the Anchorage location to be extremely charming. They really like their work and you can tell they have a family spirit. We enjoyed the positivity. I happily recommend this location to anyone who is traveling who wants to have a great meal without the surpises that can happen when you try a local place that is new to you. While I encourage people to try local places when traveling, sometimes you have to go with what is familiar. It was a great last dinner to have before we caught our flight back home.

Burned bread, then cold bread, medium steak comes out char-grilled burned with blood center (what I would expect at a seafood place).

Slow service, it took 35 mins to get our food. Fries was kinda burnt without much cheese on it. It's like the had only one guy running the food out. The food was k but it didn't wow me for a first time eating there(steak) I'm not going back to this steak place

Worst service I've had in anchorage, our server totally ignored my girlfriend and I, lucky us another server noticed us and got our order and some water after 30 minutes of trying to get our servers attention. Food was so so, not worth the money and wait, my suggestion is to go somewhere else

Of the comparable steak places in town (Lone Star, Cattle Company, etc), this is by far the worst of the lot. Steaks were small and not all that flavorful...and not hot. The ribs were pretty good, but still behind TGI Fridays in taste/texture. Potatoes were lukewarm. Service was OK...waiter messed up our order and my wife's meal ended up getting written off by the manager because the lobster was done wrong and the aforementioned not hot steak and lukewarm potato. I won't be going back anytime soon....

Me and my girlfriend usually love going to outback. Unfortunately my most recent and last experience left me speechless. Upon arriving at the restaurant we waited for a booth for about 15 minutes(not really a big deal on a busy weekend at 7PM). After finally being seated the hostess stated that our server will be with us shortly. Shortly turned into a very long wait. Me and my girlfriend managed to find various discrepancies in the menu. Like the fact that the outback special steak on the regular menu was in fact cheaper than the exact same one on the "new promotion" that they had going on. Anyway after trying to get the attention of the servers passing by(to no avail) and the same hostess that seated us we would like to order, two booths that were right beside us began to order from the same servers that dodged our eyes. Now normally I wouldn't care but the thing is that we arrived 15 minutes before them and we hadn't received the opportunity to even get water. Of course after 15 minutes of not being addressed at all I got up and left. By that time our supposed server finally caught up with us as we were leaving telling us about her co worker who had been burnt in the eye and had to go home and now she is covering an entire different part of the restaurant. After that I drove to Seward's Folly on Abbott and had a true dinner. Truly my worst experience ever at any restaurant in Anchorage and I'm so sorry to say that about a business that I frequented so much.

I like outback. I've only had bad service ONCE. I complained to the manager, only to let him know the lady at the front who was taking names for the wait list completely IGNORED me when I stood there for 3 minutes and 3 other groups of people got their name placed on the list before me, so I left. The manager pulled her from her duties, took my name and address and sent me a $50 gift card which I wasn't expecting nor did I really want (but I still used it), I just wanted to let him know what his employee was doing...(flirting with the men coming in than actually wanting to do her job). Otherwise, I've always had great service there, the servers are always pleasant, food is always good, fresh and hot, steaks are seasoned well and we've always had our drinks filled in a timely manner when they were emptied. Just an FYI for those who want to eat there...unless you plan on waiting in line for about an hour during dinner rush - use the call ahead seating.

It's a chain. It's industrial food. Heaven only knows the chemicals and preservatives you're putting in your tummy. Beer on tap is a plus. Service was good. They're proud of what they got (ie prices are high).

Surprisingly one of the best steak houses in anchorage. Reasonable value for the money, casual atmosphere.

Outback done pissed me off. This is a little dated, but it needs to be said. First things first: Outback used to be my favorite restaurant. I know, I know, that sounds ridiculous, like saying that Olive Garden is your favorite Italian joint or that McDonalds has the best cheeseburgers in the world. I get it. I was young. In college. Taste buds were still developing, I guess. Also, geographically, I was in a better place; Chicago. However, as Chicago continues to grow and blossom into a metropolis much like that of Coruscant on Star Wars, Outback has grown more and more obscure. But, I was delighted to see that there was one in Anchorage upon moving here in 2002. Perhaps the good ol' "Australian" flavor would be retained... ...aaaaand, that's a no. Look, the thing is Outback has a few good signature dishes. Their Alice Springs Chicken is pretty good, the pasta is usually spot on, and their appetizers are the main selling point. The blooming onion is pretty bad ass and the cheese fries are my all time fave. And they will cause a heart attack on sight. I'm going to recount the story that has led me to steer clear of Outback of Anchorage for as long as it takes for me to forget it ever happened. There's no telling... My wife and I venture in, having selected one night a week to eat out, due to the economic clinch we are all in. It also makes perfect sense, seeing as it is completely ridiculous to eat out more than that. The problem is that since it's our only night eating out, if it sucks, we're screwed and don't get another shot for a week. Thanks for screwing my week Outback. We ventured in and went straight to the bar. This is a healthy tip for those heading in without reservations. If nothing is open at the bar, just order a drink and loiter until someone leaves. Then swoop in for the kill. Which is what we did. The downside? The table wasn't cleaned off yet. Hey, that's cool, we kinda didn't give 'em a chance, right? Five minutes later we are staring at the plates and glasses, discussing what the patrons before us had ordered. Ten minutes later we still have no waiter and I'm counting Shrimp tails, which are piled in a corner by the sweeteners. At this point, I'm actually considering eating off the leftover plates...okay, no...that's a lie. But, still... Finally, the waiter shows up. He's awkward and none too attentive. Whatever. We give our drink orders and he disappears. For TEN minutes. This is about the time when my ears start to turn red and every word my wife says comes out a drawn out echo as the fury begins to eat away at my soul. I start to edge off the booth and out of this Godforsaken place when the drinks finally arrive. Dude, it was a water and a Diet Coke. This takes ten minutes? So, in that twenty-minute timespan, everything pretty much went to hell. The awkward waiter, the leftovers on the table for more than ten minutes, the extra ten minutes it took to get basic drinks...you, dear reader, know more than I that this is more than enough to ruin your evening. The steak could be perfect, the blooming onion blossomed perfectly, and the bread steaming hot and delectably soft, but the first impression simply sunk this ship. And, in truth, as the standard was set from the beginning, the food was very sub par. Naturally, it was brought to us by another waiter and we never saw our waiter again until he decided to drop off the check. No refills, no "how is everything," nothing. Zilch. Nada. In the middle of her meal, my wife needed some more water and after waiting for the toolbox waiter to show back up, I simply grabbed her glass and went to the bar to get it refilled myself. I left a dollar for myself. In my pocket. Oh, I forgot the clincher to this little tale of woe...my wife was pregnant at the time. YOU DON'T MESS WITH THE PREGGERS WHEN IT COMES TO FOOD. Duh. Bow your head in shame, Outback. So, who is to blame for this zeitgeist of Outback? The management? The waiter? The busboy? I'm blaming all of the above. It's a trickle down effect usually and shows, quite simply, a distinct lack of care or want for business. In these harsh economic times (anyone sick of hearing that yet?) one would think that people would be working harder (or at least achieving a normal high standard) of service to procure funds from my debit card on my one night out to eat. I guess Outback is so far in the green that they can afford to lose me. Well then, keep swimming in your cash pool, Scrooge McOutback, because I would rather endure the annoying birthday songs at Red Robin than suffer through another service like this one. Like many other Americans who value the money they earn, I hold all businesses that offer a service to a high standard when it comes to my payment of said services and simply will NOT accept anything less. I recommend you do likewise.

Bleh. Nothing special here, even the steaks were small in proportion and low quality. There's absolutely nothing "australian" about this place besides the lingo on the menu.

I've only been to one other Outback - in Torrance CA. Food was good despite being chain fare. Not here in Anchorage! People crowding in here like you are literally in a damn pen waiting for a turn at the trough and the food, well it just sucks. That's all.

We went to Outback last night on a gift certificate--sort of a joke from my sister-in-law, who knows I don't eat meat! We weren't expecting much, given that the reviews here are pretty marginal. We did wait for 45 minutes, because we went at 7:00 on a Saturday night. Not their fault people love them. And we had a very chatty waitress, who almost blew me over with her exuberance. But she kept things coming, they were on time, and everything came as expected. I think it's just me who wants service staff to be largely invisible! Other than that, the three of us were pleasantly surprised by our meals. The steak came cooked to order, the pork chop was so good our guest was almost licking the empty bone, and my ahi tuna was delicious. I had a Caesar salad, which didn't resemble a Caesar in any way -- romaine lettuce with a bunch of garlic crutons and heavy-handed Costco parmesan on top -- but it was still tasty. The clam chowder was delicious and had chunks of clams in it. While we wouldn't call it a fine dining experience (even though the prices are up there), and I'd definitely find out out how to call ahead, it doesn't deserve these terrible reviews. If you like meat, it's great. If you have kids, they'll love the attention and the kid-friendly meals. If you like to be able to sit a long time and watch people without getting rushed through your meal, it's perfect too.

Service was crap. The food was decent, typical outback. The PDA between the employees was a little disturbing. It made me think of the movie Waiting..

Phoned in reservations to take the folks out for dinner and when we got there the receptionist had no idea about the reservations. The food was slow, service quite bad, food was so, so and very small portions for the price. Our party wanted to have conversation and the music was so loud that was a laugh. I was glad to leave!

The waiter was great, he even sat down and chatted with us when he brought us our drinks (which were awesome). On the other hand, my food was practically inedible. I got some grilled chicken, which I could not eat because it smelled exactly like my grandfather's sweat-wiping rag. No joke. The garlic mashed potatoes were good though.

this place is a little shabby when it comes to ALL the other outback steakhouse's i've been to. the people working there look less that happy to be there and not one person other than my waiter made eye contact or smiled the entire time i was there. my waiter raymond was fab and the manager came by to say hi. the rest of the girls that work there need to change their line of work ... maybe the great alaskan bush company will pay them enough money to make them smile , even if they are high on cocaine and liquored up.

Went in for dinner on Friday night to see if it was any better then the take out. NO. The food was not bad but just the same old thing. Steak was a bit over cooked. Ou onion was greasy and they brought us two for some reason. Out server talked us in to getting the onion because he said it was taking longer that night for the food to come out. Took 15 minutes to get our drinks, the onion came out 10 min after that and our entrees came out 3 minutes after the onion. Don't like to be lied to like that. Out server needs to manage his timing better too. We were told to buy the more expensive steaks because he said the sirloins were being sent bak all night. We watch people at other tables chowing them down. Won't be going back.

I had my first Outback Steakhouse dining experience five years ago ... it all started here. Very good. Perhaps back then, it was the margaritas, the company or different management that made it great. The next year, I tried Outback in Honolulu ... awful. I was in Anchorage for vacation and since my friends and I couldn't agree on a restaurant, we decided to compromise and go to Outback. I hoped that the experience would be as great as it was in 2005 ... unfortunately, no, not even awesome company could make up for the awful experience in 2010. The service was terrible and the restaurant wasn't busy at all. When the waiter was around, he scowled a lot, then would disappear for long periods of time. My Jack and Cokes were watery and unmemorable, which was disappointing considering that they cost $7.00 each. The blooming onion was so-so. And the lukewarm steak and potatoes were ok but definitely not amazing. Needless to say, next time we're in Anchorage and we happen to be hungry on a Sunday night, my friends and I have decided to either go anorexic or go to McDonalds, and turn a blind eye to Outback.
