Great service, waitress was super attentive. Food was good. I have had less then pleasing experiences here before though.

I don't care what anyone says but I love Olive Garden. It's obviously not 100% traditional but not much here in Alaska is fresh off the boat traditional with anything we eat. It gets a lot of flack for being a McDonalds like chain where things are americanized but I enjoy myself every time I eat here. #1 favorite thing to eat here is the Gnochi Soup. Seems like an odd choice but it's full of flavor, the Gnochi inside is great and the chicken is in big chunks. Most soups anywhere you get ripped off but this soup is delightful. The passion fruit lemonata is a tasty drink and the endless bread sticks are always nice. Most pasta dishes get the job done and you do get a big serving of anything you order. I always get the Black Tie Mousse Cake for dessert which is another #1 favorite and the servers are always on top of everything. A lot of major chain restaurants are put down by uppity eaters but in comparison to the other major chains, Olive Garden is the better of the rest.

Two stars because the food was on point, as expected. The service was awful though. I sat in the bar area in the evening and it was relatively slow. The ENTIRE time I heard employees talking about inappropriate things then moving on to complain about the service industry and that people don't tip enough. It was especially hard to ignore since one of the servers had an obnoxiously loud and whiny nasal voice. Someone even asked a manager on duty if they "happily close the door on someone's face" when it's time to close. Not an okay conversation to have in front of customers. The server was too busy talking to actually serve us. Took forever for him to finish talking to be able to help us with more soup, salad, and water. Didn't clear any of our plates/bowls or bread baskets so the table felt super crowded while eating. Just all around unimpressed with the service. Maybe they'd get more tips if they focused on doing their job well instead of complaining about it.

Great experience! We were seated promptly, enjoyed the breadsticks, salad, and entrees and had spectacular service from our server, Merlin. Thanks for a great dinner!

Went on a busy Friday night, got seats within 10 minutes, waitress recommended the discount menu, saved money, very nice experience.

Worst OG I have ever been too! Sent an email and took the survey of their store, never responded so that tells you right there how poor their management staff is since they didn't care for feedback. The Wait Staff is seldom seen (after being gone for over 10 min when he said he would bring bread sticks...he said he was playing Indiana Jones in the cooler and walked away, WTH), had to ask 3 different people for refills of drinks/breadsticks, manager was too interested in the soccer game on the TV in the bar, food was barely luke warm, Chicken Parm was burnt so when they took our half eaten food didn't care to ask if anything was wrong with it and finally left check without even offering desserts.

Poor service, cold food, and less than attentive wait staff. Hoping in the last few months they have figured out how to run a busy chain restaurant in Anchorage.

My first time at an Olive Garden. Does seem like a good selection of food and options. The learning curve related to how to order was a bit steep for my travel and appointment weary brain. So likely didn't order the best possibilities for myself. Seating and initial ordering seemed to go well. After initial drinks and food items served the service did seem to be erratic. Unlimited bread sticks did not ever arrive after we requested a 2nd basket which was 4 reasonable but by no means large bread sticks. Did get a second bowl of soup early on. Salad was the best part of the meal. Pasta dish I didn't enjoy much but unfamiliar with pasta and sauce options not clear to a newbie like me. Just a touch too much salt for my pallet with the house dressing and pasta sauce. Executing what looks to be a complex order and service delivery in high employee turn over Alaska likely needs some fine tuning. Maybe up the prices a dollar or two and just fill the bread baskets and salad service bowls a bit more so maybe a bit less trained service people can focus on the bigger issues? Like the look of the place inside. Large tables makes laying out the food easy even if I feel like I was about a foot to far from my date (wife). Will give it one more try someday maybe when I am a bit more rested and can study the options and be more willing to shout out for more bread sticks.

When we went here, it didn't take them long to seat us. As soon as we sat down, it took forever for them to get our drinks. As we waited, we could see some of the people around us waiting the same length of time we were waiting just to pay for their meal. They all had their bills and forms of payment but no one came to their tables to collect payment for about 15min. I thought it was weird because it seemed like there was enough staff although, most of them were on their ear-pieces talking over the walkie talkie to other staff. When we did get our food, it was mediocre. I got the tour of italy and it was bland and the chicken was so overcooked, it practically cracked apart. We also never got refills on our drinks because our waiter never came back except to box our food and collect our payment. Will not eat there again. I don't recommend...ever.

It's the Olive Garden, after spending a year in the Alaskan bush it was terrific to eat in a familiar place from the lower 48.

My husband and I decided to give them a try. We were seated immediately and the restraunt was practically empty. 15 minutes and not one person came by to get our drink order or even bring us water. No wait staff in site. Tried to get someone's attention and was promptly ignored. Needless to say we left. Don't think I will be back.

I've never had a bad experience here at the dimond center Olive Garden! I LOVE their chicken and gnocchi soup! It's one of the main reasons why I go to Olive Garden. I normally order spaghetti with meat sauce or lasagna both of them are pretty delicious.

Eeek! Hopefully I won't get strung up for this review. But honestly, I don't know what all the fuss about Olive Garden is. In my opinion Olive Garden is..... Italian Fast Food. I'm not arguing with the deliciousness of their unlimited bread sticks... or their boring salad (though they do skimp you on the dressing unless you ask for extra) The Appetizers are decent The Drinks are delish and reasonably priced But the actual entrees.... bleh and blah! Have you ever heard of a little seasoning!? I've gone time and time again since they opened their new restaurant at the Dimond Center (the husband loves it there) and I've tried ordering all kinds of things. But the flavor just isn't there with an extra dose of LAME-sauce. Guess I'll just have to stick to just salad and breadsticks every time I go... with extra dressing please.

Gross! Unprofessional.... I have gone numerous times and they can't seem to keep things the same. I always order off the gluten free menu and the three times I have been there in the last year each time I order the same thing it always comes out looking different with a different variation of food on it. The last time my chicken was not fully cooked and was cold in the middle and I only had a 1/4 cup of veggies. FOR $25!!!! No thank you! I was disgusted and the staff was extremely rude. When I findally got a manager over they were so rude and nasty about it. Telling me I was mistaken and this was the normal for their gluten free option. I am sorry but VEGGIES shouldn't be that big of a deal. I went from getting a cup and a half to a 1/4... NOT RIGHT!

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Anchorage! It's usually busy any night of the week so we generally have to wait about 15-20 mins to be seated but the food is well worth the wait. The servers are attentive despite the chaos, the food is consistently delicious, and the overall feel of the place is great.

Spent $20 for mixed grilled meats and burnt veggies. Appetizer never arrived, waitress agreed to be taken off the check. Won't be back for couple years, or three.

Why does OG get such a bad rap? You know what your getting into when you come here. It's a chain not something local, small and cool. That said you can't go wrong with pasta, marinara sauce, veggies and chicken or meatballs. Look it's not great but it works in a pinch.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
