Crostini is only 3 blocks from my house, so I've driven by countless times swearing that I'd stop soon. It only took me a year, which is unfortunate because this place is a little gem. They definitely cater to the lunch time business crowd. I walked in at noon , sat at the counter, ordered my lunch and it was in front of me 90 seconds later. I'm pretty sure the guy in the kitchen is psychic and/or an octopus. If you're in a hurry, I bet you 5 bucks Crostini can get you lunch quicker than McDonald's. Totally not joking. The only mark off was for the wrong bread. I ordered the health nut bread and was delivered the buttermilk bread instead. But by golly that was some tender delicious bread, that despite its softness did NOT fall apart. An act of wizardry, me thinks. The tomato was also ripe, which is no small miracle in Alaska. The her bed cream cheese on my Skinny Bird (turkey sammich) was really delectable. Not a perfect sandwich, but it was quite good and was well complimented by the tomato basil soup (which I wish didn't have those tiny cheese raviolis in it.) My latte was not pretty, but it tasted fantastic. The 4 stars rather than 5, well I'm torn about that. The menu is SOOOO limited. On the plus side this allows them to keep cost down and get food out of the kitchen VERY quick. But i think i would bore very quickly of the limited menu, even though it's executed well. I think a special of the day would make all the difference in the world. It's unfortunate that most people miss out on dining-in here since so much of their business is take out and catering. The vibe here is very warm. Great mellow music and lots a love here... you can just feel these are great people and want to give them business. This is small-town, pull a chair up and make-a-friend-for-life dining at its best. Anyone who spends any time here won't be strangers for long. I could see myself as a regular here, so save a seat for me when you go.

Warm cafe environment that is cozy and quiet enough to have a real conversation with friends- a nice change from the loud and filled with hipsters like the other Anchorage hot spots. The Chicken salad is delicious, as are the baked goods, but the soups are just so good. Truly the best soup place in town. Try their catering, too! The prices are AWESOME-- great value. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that it would be nice to see a little more innovation- the menu seems to stay the same. It's a darn good menu though.

Finally found awesome tuna salad in anchorage!!! It's incredible! Sad that I've lived here 5 years and just discovered this gem of a cafe! The chicken noodle soup is also delicious... I will be back

Crostini is a great place to stop in for lunch or have them deliver. They are locally owned and operated and the staff is very friendly. I am addicted to their Chicken Walnut Salad. So good! It leaves wicked garlic breath, though, so make sure you have a stick of gum! Their sandwhiches are served on fresh bread with fresh ingredients. When I worked at an office in Anchorage we always had Crostini cater our events. They did a great job.

They always provide good food, especially the soups, I recommend going in on Tuesdays Thursdays or Fridays for the potato soup, the broccoli cheese soup or the clam chowder. I started going here when I was in middle school and they have always been friendly and they remember their customers and always asked how I've been no matter how long it had been since I'd last gone. I don't live here anymore but there was a time I had seen then around town when I came to visit and they remembered me after so long and still asked how I'd been and what I've been up to since graduating. Now I make it a goal to have lunch at the cafe every time I visit town because of their wonderful hospitality and food.

Great atmosphere paired with delicious and healthy meals. I almost did not want to write this review due to a selfish goal of keeping this place "to myself" as the place is small and starting to have wait times on busy hours. Try everything on their menu, but I recommend the Chicken Walnut Salad along with any of their sandwiches.

I have been here many times....they usually are very friendly. TODAY: HORRIBLE. Completely ignored by the owners...who btw visited every table but ours. Others that came in after us were served before we were. Guess we are not on the "regular" list. I even complimented them on their soup...looked at me and COMPLETELY ignored me and went to another table...Struggle to get "someones" attention for a refill on drinks...VERY disappointing. Food a plus, Service....NONE!

I can only base this on the Catering supplied by this pretty cool place. Three times a very large catering order has been put before these fine folks, and three times in a row, they have com thru in flying colors. Meats were fresh, the Breads were Fresher, and all the ingredients in the sandwich were fresh and perfect. Even the Potato Salad was great! No comment on the bagged chips, but the Peppers were HOT! In town for business? Need to cater a lunch...here is your answer!!!

This is the greatest place in Anchorage for lunch. The Food is consistently great, hot and tasty, and the staff/owners make it a most enjoyable experience. My favorites are the Asian Chicken Salad and Vinnie's gumbo. The gumbo is served every other Wednesday and one of the highlights of my week. I've also used them for catering lunches and they've always come through for me.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
