Low expectations, not disappointed. Food is hit or miss, generally lower quality, but you could eat 7 pounds of it for the same price, so whatever. It's like other low quality, not as clean places with questionable sanitation practices - they hit the minimum requirements. They also stay in business.

Oh boy China King Buffet do you suck! Over the last couple months the quality of the food has really gone down. What used to be an inexpensive meal is now total robbery. They've raised their prices. The buffet is now 15.95 and it's totally not worth it. Even worse the prices aren't even listed anywhere in the restaurant. So you don't even know that you're about to get ripped off until it's too late. As I sat in the car contemplating my review I noticed a hobo urinating on the side of the building. That pretty much sumerises my feelings about China King buffet.

I used to come here to pig out, but recently the quality of the food has been declining and China King has been jacking up the price. Unless the management team decides o improve their quality of food, it is totally not worth going.

These four stars are for a rating within the AYCE buffet/Mongolian BBQ category. Which means you'll be able to find everything you can want from an American Chinese food menu, and get to eat as much of it as you want for a very reasonable price. This is not a fine dining establishment but that's not why you come to a place like this. So if you come looking for the right type of food you will not be disappointed.

So I have been here a few times and it has been hit or miss. I have found that lunch time is the time to go here. The food was hot and the selection was great. I have been here a time or two and dinner time and did not have a great experience. The lunch price is around $12 so it is far better than going for dinner, and the food choice is the same at lunch as it is for dinner. The staff has gotten a lot better than before. It is a loud atmosphere, but that is to be expected at a buffet style restaurant. When I went for lunch it was very busy as church had just gotten out. They have a lot of meat dishes, so you do feel like you are getting your money's worth in that regard. Overall, this is a nice place to go for a family outing, but just know it is loud and the decor could use some attention. Some of the booths are broken, so just a heads up. This is a good option if you are wanting a buffet as there are not that many buffet options in Anchorage.

Food aren't that great but compared to other AYCE place, it is fairly cheap. (11.95 for Lunch including unlimited fountain drinks, hot coffee, tea etc.) Other AYCE usually charge extra for drinks. Soup: Hot and Sour Soup, Egg Flower Soup, Seafood Soup (They tasted alright, not great) Chinese food items: I think they're alright too. If you don't know what you like, I suggested that you just try a little bit of everything first. I wish they increase the temperature of the food more because most of them were lukewarm. Mongolian Grill: They let you season on your own. Most sauces are watered down especially the Taiwanese BBQ sauce (Usually it is kind of oily but WTH, it's all diluted). So you need to put in at least 3 spoons of each sauce to make it taste right nevertheless, they diluted your thing more by pouring water while frying :( They have a little bit of sushi items but they don't look very attractive. I didn't even bother trying them out. They finally put out the hand sanitizer. Overall, good bang for the bucks. Food quality ain't that great but why complain when you only pay so little for a great selection of food. China Light has a better selection of food but cost more and doesn't include drinks. I don't know about other people but my strategy when eating buffet is to take a little bit at a time and make multiple trips. That way you can eat a lot more and get your money worth. And don't get too much rice. It fills you up and you will not get your money worth at all.

You might want to go here, but, - just don't. It's not a good idea. While eating I thought to myself, "yeah, I'm probably going to get food poisoning in a few hours". Of course I didn't. But still, it's not good food. The place is dirty, surprisingly crowded, and yes it is cheap. You will regret it, I promise.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Horrid is the best one word review I can give. The place is dirty and falling apart. The food is a step down from your Jr high cafeteria.

I love Chinese food! This place is nothing like Chinese food. Stale+gross+crappy=China King Did I mention I'd rather starve to death than eat at this dump ever again?

WOW. I decided to eat at the chinese restaurant with all the cars. Big mistake. This place serves ice tea out of a fountain machine. The food is consistently awful, no matter what it is you eat. Even the steamed rice has a bad flavor. Really? I thought how bad could this place be? I'll eat the rice if I don't like the food. Not here. I could write about each bad dish, but I'll be reliving the worst dining experience of my life. If you don't heed this warning, then you can write about each dish. I originally was going to the Panda King since they were rated one of the 10 best chinese restaurants in the US by USAtoday. Decided against it since they don't wash their windows. Sad that I let dirty windows stop me, especially since I ate at this sorry excuse for a place licensed to prepare food for human consumption.

Have you ever eaten at a restaurant out of pure desperation and come out feeling not only very regretful but also a little bit ashamed? C'mon... you know you've had that experience... everyone does... A long time ago I made a vow never to eat at a Chinese buffet restaurant ever again because I've always had bad experiences. Every Chinese buffet I've been to has food that's oozing msg, and everything is starchy, soupy, and deep fried which leads to me feeling utterly gross afterwards. I'm not knocking all Chinese buffets because I'm sure there are a few good ones out there and some people really like the variety but it is just not for me. However, after a week in Alaska and not having Asian food made me slightly delirious and I entered the restaurant on my own accord. I am guilty of that. The food... filling but terrible. My mouth felt salty for hours afterwards and I was bloated and a very unhappy camper.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
