I have been going to Fusion for over 3 years and have never left the place unhappy. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it is one of my favorite places to eat.I have always eaten at the hibachi side and it is always good. The chefs are friends (I have had about all of them now), the drinks good, and the food excellent! I encourage you to click on the "filtered reviews" at the bottom because the one review showing is not an accurate portrayal of Fusion!

Well the remodeling didn't improve the quality of the food. I've been a customer since the beginning. The quality has deteriorated since then. On a whim and hungry gave it a chance. Big fat zero for the dry chicken teriyaki. Salad was over dressed. The beer was good, but no glass. I've eaten at lot of Japanese Steak Houses. Will stay away from this one in the future. Disappointed.

You have to make a choice when you come to this place; you can either choose hibachi or traditional dining. We've made both choices recently, so I'll tell a little bit about each. The first time we visited was on a Saturday at lunchtime. We chose hibachi and were taken to the hibachi room, which has four tables so it can accomodate big crowds when necessary. We'd arrived just as the place was opening, so only one table was half full, and that's where we were seated. We were first given our soup, which was a clear broth with a few scallions and mushrooms floating in it, and then our salads, which were made of the standard iceberg lettuce but had a very creamy ginger dressing that was good. While we were eating, a waitress took the orders for which meat(s) we wanted. There are a variety of choices printed on the menu, and it costs only a few dollars more to get a two-meat combo instead of one. Then the chef came out and did his thing, which I guess was fairly typical, although I've never been to a hibachi restaurant before so I can't really say. Everyone was on the honor system at telling him which combinations of food we had ordered, and a few people got some extra things by mistake, but overall it worked out well and was a great deal of fun. (We were especially pleased when we got the check, as we were charged much less than the prices on the hibachi menu, so apparently there is an unwritten lunch special.) As we left, another group was just getting started with another chef at the next table. When we returned a few weeks later, it was for supper on a Monday night. This time we chose the regular menu and were taken to a room far in the back where you can watch the sushi chefs working as you eat. I ordered the seafood pad thai, which was excellent, one of my companions had the chicken tempura, and the other had the chicken teriyaki. All our choices were very good, and all came with the same soup and salad we had on the hibachi side. Then we decided to order dessert. One of us got the fried ice cream, which was just like you'd expect, but I was adventurous and got the mochi ice cream. These are little balls of ice cream rolled in rice paste, so you can pick them up without them melting on you. I really liked the concept, but next time I'll order a different flavor, as green tea turned out not to be the best choice, even though I really like green tea as a beverage. (They also have mango and strawberry.) All in all, we had a great time on both our visits, and although Fusion is a little pricey for Parkersburg, it was definitely worth it both times.

For hibachi the food is mediocre and the service is slow during the week. Expect to wait for at least 6 people at the table prior to being served which is also typical. The saki is good and the cook attempted to be entertaining. It was my birthday and the hostess said that they offer fried ice cream to those with a birthday but the offer was never made which was disappointing. The restaurant is also a small place in a strip mall which was unexpected.

Ate here tonight after their grand re-opening last week. This place is pricey, but the food is well worth it. The remodeling inside is terrific and soothing that has a taste of a fancy New York City restaurant in the back. Sushi rolls are excellent. Great place for a date or a good time with friends.

I ate at this restaurant out of desperation because I was in the M.O.V for a month and was used to having sushi at least twice a week. My friends said that I was very desperate and brave to risk possible food poisoning, but desperate times call for desperate measures. The sushi is sub par at best. It is definitely not the quality of what I am used to. The rice they used was very..how do I describe it...toooo glutinous? (improperly prepared). I sucked it up and asked for spicy mayo in hopes of making the rolls better (much like what sub par sushi places to do their rolls...drench it in spicy mayo!), but their spicy mayo tasted funny too. (They probably didn't use Kewpie mayo when they prepared the spicy mayo with the Sriracha). It might be good for the area or the untrained sushi consumer, but trust me they are not good. Overall, I was unimpressed. -Big City Sushi Snob

Fusion Japanese steakhouse is one of the nicest cozy place located in the center of parkersburg west virginia. Not too expensive, sushis are always prepared right, and the friendliest workers. Always good!!!

This is not as good as it has been. We went in with a party of 6 and 3 separate checks. We ordered 3 appetizers and 6 dinners. After a 35 minute wait 2 appetizers came out. 10 minutes later the dinners came out. I requested that the appetizer that never appeared to be removed from the bill. After finishing, the checks appeared. Then I noticed that an 18% gratuity had been added to my bill. Now I admit we had 6 people in our party. But we did not receive service that warranted an 18 % tip. 45 minutes to get our meals, a lost appetizer and not a word of apology from either the waitress or the manager. We will not be back for a very long time if at all.

Fusion is good - really good. One could make many jokes about a sushi place nears the Ohio River in WV. One could but I won't. I think that Fusion is absolutely good. Is it expensive for WV -yes. Is it expensive for sushi - no The service has always been solid. The atmosphere is typical of either a sushi bar or a Japanese steak house

I went here because of the reviews on Yelp and I did not want to eat crap food for dinner. Well, I think i just did. The food was par at best and the used so much salt I thought I ordered a BigMac. The taste was ok, but the food was not fresh! Will i go back? No, I will travel to a Benihanna instead

Excellent food and excellent experience. I read the other reviews and made sure to sit at the hibachi table; I think that's the key! I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because I have seen hibachi chefs do more tricks than what they did here. Other than that, it was great. Dinner time on weekends gets crowded pretty quickly, so you might want to go a little early.

Fusion is located in a strip-shopping-center just North of Parkersburg in Vienna. The decor and atmosphere is quiet (when the hibachi dude isn't doing his thing) and well done, and there are a few different/separated rooms so it isn't noisy or overly busy. We sat in the room with the sushi bar (in the back?). Our initial service was decent - drink and appetizer orders, but no water with the beers that came out. We ordered our dinner - I had sushi and a coworker had a chicken-variant. This is when things begin to go downhill.... About 30 minutes goes by, and we're both out of beer (big issue). We have to wave down our waitress to order another. She says she'll check on the food, as it has been a long time. She returns after a long delay (she had to go back to the freezer to get beer?), and tells us that my sushi order didn't print to the sushi chef so someone else's order is ahead of mine. We think that's not a huge deal, until she tells my dining partner that his meal is ready but she'll bring it out when the sushi is done. We tell the waitress to bring his dish out so it doesnt just sit there - and when she brings it out it has apparently already sat under a heat lamp for quiet sometime. We seriously think about just leaving at this point; the Panera across the street is looking mighty tasty. My sushi eventually comes out, about an hour after I placed the order and 1:15 or so after we arrived. The sushi was decent. Decently amount for the price and good variety (I ordered an assortment of the chef's choice). We again have to request more drinks even though they are obviously empty. Maybe drinking all through dinner wasn't a concept the waitress knows about, or maybe we're just drunks? To put the final nail in the coffin, the waitress brings the check and offers ice cream as an apology for the long wait. I decline but my coworker gets the fried ice cream. It was disgusting. It was not fried ice cream either of us was used to... Overall, a poor experience for a relatively expensive place in WV - about $75 for two of us (drinks, apps, dinner). We won't be going back.
