The Wonder Bar Steak House Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Just had one of the best steaks here I've ever had. I had a great steak like this over 2 years ago at a different restaurant and I have been searching for another place where I could get the same quality. Sadly over the past few years every place has fallen short of my expectations until now. Choice, aged Angus beef. Tender with just the right ratio of fat to meat. I checked the reviews before I came and had high hopes. Wonder bar, thanks for not letting me down! Also, I recommend trying the escargot. It comes without the shell, baked in a creamy-cheesy mixture that is awesome. After the snails were gone I used it with the bread. Honestly, even better that way. My wife got the rock lobster tail, crab cake, and shrimp seafood trio. Being that I'm allergic to shellfish I couldn't try them, but from a far it sure did look appetizing. They get points for presentation. All I can say is, if you love steak, I highly recommend it.

Good atmosphere but food isn't to die for. Great place to grab a drink in the evening or after work. Patio overlooks downtown Clarksburg and provides a wonderful view of the sunset.

At these prices I expect food to be fresh and well prepared. This was food service food. Dry tough obviously thawed frozen mahi mahi with white rice. Kroger-quality pale salmon cutlet with bland sauce and three pencil-thin slivers of asparagus and a wilted piece of kale. Wrong salad delivered twice and when they finally got the dressing right a full cup was poured over the iceberg lettuce enhanced with canned garbanzo beans (nothing actually green in the salad) and canned pepperonici. We get better salad at the local gas station for half the price. If we want this kind of food again we will go to Eat n Park. The view was nice and the decor with red carpeted walls was interesting. We did get a free dessert because it was our anniversary so we did not leave hungry. No mention of daily specials while these were offered to other tables. The wine was good and priced fairly.

I had the lobster bisque and the ahi tuna; both were absolutely wonderful. The bisque was rich and savory with none of the floury taste you often get when they thicken soups. The tuna was tender, perfectly cooked rare, and large enough for it to serve as my entree. My husband got the calamari appetizer and we both thought it was the best we'd ever had. His Delmonico was cooked to perfection and a good cut, but only about an inch thick. He prefers his about 1.5- 2 inches thick. The brownie ala mode was thick, rich, warm and decadent. The view was splendid, the service superb, and the price quite reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food. If you are looking for a great meal in the Clarksburg area, don't miss The Wonder Bar Steakhouse.

I haven't been to the wonder bar in several years, so when we went this weekend I was starving for their amazing filet. What we got? One waitress that was not happy to have our table. Four beers, one glass of house cab, One Caesar salad soaked with dressing from a bottle. One nice little house salad. One well done petite filet that was supposed to be on the rare side of med rare. One regular filet that was a med done med rare. Eight crab cake stuffed shrimp (we each had the surf and turf) that were very salty, overdone, and the size of med peel and eats. One dessert that came out of the freezer from SAMs. The bill total? $180. Really. No kidding.our party of 12 split up the bills so our not happy waitress was tipped 20% regardless. I will not be back. I'm so sad that the amazing melt in your mouth filet I remember is gone.

Good service from the start. Made reservation via this app and was immediately seated upon arrival. Our waitress was top notch. I had the onion soup, house salad, NY Strip, baked potato, and a chocolate dessert. All were very well prepared. This was our second time here and I feel it was much better than our initial visit.

Excellent place to have a nice romantic dinner. The atmosphere was classy yet not stuffy. I would highly recommend the Halibut it was very tasty and seasoned perfect. Our waiter was extremely helpful and informative. We will be back.

My partner and I tried the WonderBar when we traveled to Clarksburg in mid June,... what an experience! You walk in and are transported back in time (say late 1960's). Sinatra plays in the background and the decor of the place is of that era. The service from a time when restaurants really went out of their way for customers. My friend and I sat at the bar- tried a glass of "grampa folio's homemade wine" and then had dinner. Excellent service, great steaks and salads- We will be back again!

This is the best steak in north central WV. You pay for the quality and there is nothing speical with the steaks they just know what they are doing. It has a great bar and wait staff. This is something you should take someone out on a special occasion.

Wow! I live in Chicago and I am from Texas, as such I naturally consider my self an expert on the holy grail of restaurants, The Steakhouse. In truth I am hesitant to go to places outside known bastions of beef as I am more often than not disappointed. I did not expect to find a steakhouse of this caliber, but I am glad I did! The Wonder Bar could stand on it's own anywhere including Chigago where it reminds me of my all time favorite spot, Gene and Georgetti's. When you walk in there is an immediate old fashion charm reminding me of a nice welcoming supper club, where you feel like everyone already knows you even when they do not. Very welcoming experience from the moment you walk in. There is a sign on the door 1946 (I think) which let's you know it's a historic place, but there are also modern touches that keep it comfortable and new. The shaggy red carpet wall paper can not be described, it must be experienced. Starting off with a cocktail is a must and the bartender was professional and expertly prepared my go to drink of choice the timeless old fashioned. The restaurant is perched high atop a hill and you get to take it in all in while drinking your favorite highball. I don't drink martinis', but when they were created I believe they had this spot in mind. Now to dinner. Service throughout was professional, friendly and at no time pretentious. In two words I would describe it as causually elegant. There is a very good wine list in place with plenty Napa favorites and also some international treats. The steak is the way steak is suppose to be. A great cut of meat, prepared expertly, and how you order it. No dribbles, sauces, cuts, stacking and definitely no foam. A steak that tastes like a steak. The bone in ribeye. BOOM. I never thought I would find a spot like this outside of Chicago and definitely was surprised to find it in Clarksburg WV. Now I just have to find a reason to get back soon.

I lived in Clarksburg for two years and had the occasion to visit the Wonder Bar three times. All three times I had excellent food and service. I think the petite filet mignon is the finest I've ever tasted, and the tips in bleu cheese is simply amazing. We always had the house wine with dinner, our vegetables were done right and our family had a good time. Definitely worth a visit if you happen to be in NC WV

Front desk recommended The Wonder Bar as a great old style steak place. Loved the decor if you are into the retro retro look... Could have sworn I saw Frankie and Dino hoisting a few at the bar.. My steak, NY Sirloin, was cooked perfect. The salad was fine and the service at the bar was very good. The dessert tray looked mighty fine at a distance as well. Thought the prices were kind of pricey. My opinion, the Wonder Bar is nice place for a brew and a steak.

Nothing interesting here except for the atmosphere. Sure, go ahead and check out the atmosphere (carpet-style wallpaper and old-timey service) once, and get it out of your system. If what you really want is steaks, try 4th Street or Texas Roadhouse. If you want steaks and/or other, wonderfully prepared choices, 4th Street is the only game in town.

Let me start out by saying that getting to the Wonderbar is a feat in its self. When you come to the first light on Route 50 take the exit to the right, now here is where it gets a little tricky...if you have a GPS turn it off right now! Google maps will try and take you completely down the hill and back up making a huge circle. There is a one lane black top road almost directly across from the exit that is the road that will take you up to the Wonderbar. There is a sign but not down by the road it is up on the hill and has some tree limbs so it is hard to see...even though it is huge. The Wonderbar is not huge so definitely make reservations. When you first go in do not stop at the front door, continue down the hallway until you reach the doorway that opens into the dining room. I thought this was a little confusing because there is also a bar entrance and the waiters and waitresses are hurrying about everywhere. My husband and I were seated by one of the windows, which when the curtains were opened had a beautiful view of Clarksburg and the mountains around it. Our waitress was absolutely wonderful. She let us take are time looking at the menu and answered any questions that we had. We both had lobster bisque to start with; although it was a little salty for me it was still delicious. For the main course we both had the filet mignon with house salads. Both of our filets were cooked to perfection and fantastic. I had fries as a side mainly because the other sides just didn't sound that great (I'm not a huge baked potato fan). My husband had onion rings which they hand bread and you get a huge portion of. For dessert I had the death by chocolate cake and it was beyond words. Also, I had mentioned that it was my birthday and our waitress brought my piece of cake out with a candle. My husband had the cheesecake with raspberry sauce and it too was amazing. The only complaint that I had is they do not offer sweet tea. I know that sounds silly but I don't like having to sweeten my tea myself at a restaurant. I mean come on this is West Virginia sweet tea is like a staple here. Over all everything was wonderful and we will definitely be dinning again at the Wonderbar.

Had the NY strip and have to say it was no better than Texas roadhouse or ryans down the way. Service was good but way overpriced. I would have scored 3 stars except for the price. To the people who scored 4. Four stars means they wow you on at least 3 of 4 points. Taste, presentation, service, price. The difference between a one and two star is that a one star may require you to call the health dept.

Good food served in a nice location overlooking Clarksburg. In a town where options for a nice, classy dinner are limited, the Wonder Bar is the rare exception. Skip their average pastas and focus on their excellent steaks. That said, while the restaurant is nice, they charge you like its far nicer. Every item (and I mean every item) is priced al a carte and their entree fees are very steep. Far more expensive than they deserve.

Well, it was an experience for sure. Just not the type of experience I would ever go back for. When you walk in, you are greeted by red shag carpet on the walls. I'm pretty sure that was never in style in my lifetime, but whatever. One reviewer likened it to steakhouses of the old days. How old are you?? She also said that Frank Sinatra was playing in the background. That might have been a nice touch, but i never heard it. Even if this is what the Wonderbar owners were going for, I think they missed it! So I went with a very large group after the Oil and Gas Expo. Maybe 14-15 of us? We were seated out on the deck. Our waitress was fantastic. Very helpful, friendly, and was good at her job. I think here name was Arianna? I had the petite fillet with mushrooms and a salad for a side. The salad was unremarkable. You could have made a better one at a grocery store salad bar. The mushrooms were cooked perfectly, but lacked any flavor whatsoever. The steak, medium rare, was also cooked perfectly but lacked any flavor?? No seasonings whatsoever on anything. Now I was looking forward to having a steak here because allot of locals told me that this was the place to go for a steak. I feel very sorry for you people!!!! If this is your best option for a steak, I would move. One nice touch was the owner came out and checked on us during dinner. I always appreciate that. He also thanked us as we left. I also appreciate that. Nice owners, but the food was just nothing special. I wont mention how much the bill was, but i promise it was the only thing that had any flavor............it was SALTY!

Went here with my husband and friends. Had a great time! :) For drinks we ordered 2 long island ice teas, margarita and can't recall the other drink. All was good!! For appetizers - lobster bisque and escargot. Those snails were the best, especially with the bread that they brought out...yummy! Main entree was served with a salad. I ordered a Fettuccine Alfredo. My husband ordered a special and since this happened several weeks ago, i cannot recall what the other couple ordered. Sorry. All I know is that everything was eaten and was delicious!!! Would recommend a return.

This is probably as good as it gets in Clarksburg. The first thing you'll notice is the crazy atmosphere here. It's what a top-notch steakhouse must've looked like in the 70s, complete with coat check room, low lighting, and of course the unforgettable red carpeted walls. Yeah you heard that right - they rock carpet on the wall. It's fuzzy. As for the food, the steak I had was decent and the crab cake was better than I'd thought it was going to be, but I can't see coming here too often. It's interesting but maybe a bit pricey for what you get.

This Steakhouse is an upscale family Steakhouse . Built in the 40's it looks out over Clarksburg from high on Old Bridgeport Hill. Fine dining is what you find here and the food is top notch. My parents took me here for my high school graduation dinner, and again when I obtained a degree. This is where they hide some of the finest prime rib to ever please your palate. You need to look for the signs to find it but once you do you won't regret. The staff is courteous and very attentive. It can be pricey but is not always. Definitely worth the visit.

You need to look for the signs to find it but once you do you won't regret. The staff is courteous and very attentive. It can be pricey but is not always. Definitely worth the visit.
