Padrino's offers friendly service, fair prices, and genuinely good real Italian food. Whenever I'm in Beckley (usually once a week or so) I always make it a point to stop by and grab something delicious. From their Philly Steak Hoagies to their Gourmet Pizzas, everything on the menu is a real winner. I highly recommend it to anyone coming into the area.

Dropped by here on the way home. A little out of the way of the highway but the food was amazing! Ordered mozzarella sticks which were average but also got a white pizza with beef on it and it was delicious. Ended with a cheesecake for dessert which seemed homemade. The price of the entire meal was surprisingly low which made it worth it. Only problem was that drinks only have 1 free refill which is rarely seen nowadays.

Here's the deal. Olive Garden is not real Italian food. Some would argue it isn't even real food. Padrino's is real food, and you can tell because you can eat it and get hungry later. Weird processed food will just kind of sit on your stomach. Their food is really bone simple, but you're getting alfredo sauce that's made to order, they're using fresh tomatoes, etc. Also, the prices are not too bad.

Somewhat of a hole in a wall but the food was delicious. The pasta was cooked right, good flavor, and large portions.

This is my personal favorite, I always get the Chicken Alfredo with broccoli, mmmmmmm, little greasy, but hey it's real Italian! eat it up! Friendly service, I think it's family owned. They don't have alot of seating, I think they should expand for sure, but its a great place to eat, a nice atmosphere, oh and good garlic bread.

Best Italian food in Beckley area. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is the seating: very cramped but the food is worth it. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Pasta and vodka sauce is my norm there.

Wife & I stopped in for lunch. Just had to try the pizza I've heard so much about. A very nice set up upon entering. The cashire/take-out counter is right as you walk in, separated from the dinning room by a heavy duty glass door. Upon entering, it hits you as to how small this place is. I think I counted 9 four toppers. What also hits you is how clean everything is. We were told to sit where we wanted. Within seconds, a very nice young lady introduced herself, handed us menues, asked for our drink order. What struck me almost immediately were the reasonable prices. Did notice that other than pizza, calzones, stromboli, only basic pasta dishes were listed. I.e., no pasta with clam sauce. I ordered a 12" cheese pizza. Didn't want to dilute the true taste of the crust, sauce, & cheese. My wife had her usual Italian hoagie, heated. Order arrived in under 15 mins. The pizza was above average, but not the best I've ever had. It was a thin crust, but not so thin that you couldn't pick it up with your hands. The cheese & sauce didn't slide all over the place. Hate having to eat pizza with a knife & fork. Anyway, the crust did not have a distinct flavor. The cheese was not the Grande (very expensive) brand, & the sauce was just Pizza sauce. I was only able to consume 1/2 (4 slices) & had the rest the next day. Wife's hoagie was better than most. She can be very critical about her food but she ate the whole (6") thing. When the server asked if she could get anything else for us, I said "yes, when we come in the next time, can you find out if we can order a "Grandma's pizza?" which is made with spaghetti sauce rather than regular old pizza sauce?" She said "I'll go ask." Upon her return, she said "the manager said "of course!"." That my friends is what I call service. We'll be back again & again.

Fantastic dinner. Had chicken Parmesan and wedding soup. Absolutely great! My wife had spaghetti and meatballs and delicious as well. Loved the garlic bread too. Nothing but great things to say about this place.

We enjoyed Padrinos Italian. Don't be fooled by the strip mall location, everything we ordered was very nice. I had the veal park and it was very tender and flavorful. Need to upgrade their wine list. Attentive service. Nice people.

We ordered a medium pizza and eggplant parmesan. It was out in about 10 minutes, and the food was very good. It's a small restaurant in a strip mall, but don't let that fool you - we recommend it and will be returning next time we pass through. They also do take out. There are only about ten tables. Pretty empty when we arrived at 6:30 on a Wednesday, but was packed when we left at 7:30.

So mediocre would not eat there twice. Food was served hot but little flavor. Got fried mushrooms and chicken parm, it was eh ok. Nothing to write home over.

The saving grace here was the Sicilian salad. I ordered the tortellini and chicken. The waiter w as s nice enough to make it with marinara instead of cream sauce. The tortellini came swimming in a clear liquid. Thinking it was water and not drained I sent it back. The waiter brought back the tortellini and said its butter, that's the way we cook it. I attempted to eat it picking the firmer of the tortellini on top. By this time most of the tortellini were soggy with butter. When I paid my bill the lady asked of my meal and I explained the above to her. Back in the kitchen I could hear buzz from my conversation. The lady said that's the way we cook it. Saw a good looking pizza maybe that's there dish. DO NOT ORDER THE TORTELLINI UNLESS YOU DESIRE CLOGGED ARTERIES.

Wife and I headed to Padrino's for dinner after reading some reviews on Yelp. We're not from Beckley, but we were in town for a family affair. First off, the restaurant has a different layout. A little unusual, but not necessarily bad. The dining area is pretty intimate, so keep in mind you'll be able to hear other's conversations and vice versa. Second, staff was friendly. We were greeted quickly and our waitress was attentive. The level of service is about what you'd expect at this price point. Lastly, food was pretty good. We were informed that the garlic bread and Alfredo sauce are homemade. They were both pretty good as I had chicken fettuccine Alfredo. Wife had stuffed shells and she enjoyed them. I would recommend to others and would eat there again.

She said: This is my favorite Italian restaurant in the Beckley/Raleigh County area. The pizzas are always delicious! In fact, I haven't had anything here that wasn't delicious! My only complaint is that the dining room is too small. But the food...yum!!!

The seating may be cramped, but this place has delicious food. Greasy, cheesy Italian food. I judge an Italian place by their Alfredo sauce and Padrino's is very flavorful. Some places it's bland, but here it has a lot of garlic flavor and is creamy instead of pasty. I tend to stick with that, but their Eggplant Parmesan is really tasty, too. My family orders pizza usually and it's good as well. I highly recommend!

The chicken fettuccine alfredo was great, the sausage roll/ball appetizer was even better. Only 1 drawback to keep it from getting 5 stars...an extremely small dining room.

I love this place! Every time I go to Beckley, I have to have their calamari!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
