The only thing good about this restaurant is the food and specials on Monday and Tuesday. The food is good, but waaaay too expensive for what you get. Do not go there and order a BYO sandwich, it's $9.

I love this place. Their steak sandwich is the best I've ever had. It's comes and cooked and seasoned just right. They're also always changing up their craft beer selection.

Alright So Mixed review - My guy and I relocated to this area about a year ago now. Now maybe im spoiled coming from riverwest where their was amazing food around every corner but i really really had high hopes for the place in walking distance. I didnt expect it to compete with say Nessun Dorma no no nothing that crazy i mean this is northshore area after all. But I did expect something a little bit better than say a high end fast foodie place. Now dont get me wrong its not bad, its just not that great and really with Bayshore mall just down the road and that offering better food suggestions, or say the silverspring house also a quick job away. It would be hard to pull our business. however they have a decent happy hour and we have stopped in a time or 2 for a drink and the nachos are pretty good for your standard bar faire. So its local for the neighborhood we fourtunate to have it but its not worth raving about.

For being just a pub and restaurant, the pulled pork was absolutely incredible! It seems to be a dive bar, but the food was great and the drinks were relatively cheap!

Not to be confused with Alioto's. on the West side of town (very different) This is a fun location with a nice patio up front with good sized ashtrays. Came in for late happy hour. Staff was pleasant and attentive. They had a touchscreen juke box. With speakers out front. They had plenty of parking up front and as the sign says parking in rear. (hee hee). They had Jameson and but no Myers Rum or JW blue label. It's sad that most of the locals don't drink the Dark Jamaican rum. I personally enjoy it when ever I get a chance. In fact I prefer it over Captain Morgan any day. I'm sure there is more than 2 other fans of Myers. it is definitely a flavor that reminds me a life in South Florida without the expense of travel. They have a good selection of drafts I got the Lakefront Brewery Riverwest stein.

Fish fry was tasty, very light. Service was quick. Checked on by both the manager and waitstaff. Good beer selection too. Will definitely try again.

Okay so I am getting married tomorrow and staying at a hotel near by. My fiance and I MET at this bar years ago under the old ownership and before the remodel. So we decided to go back for old times sake and check out the new look. The night started off great. Servers were nice, the bar had a cliquey vibe but we didnt really mind... then it happened. We ordered food and it took at least a half hour to arrive. When it did the burger I ordered was burnt and the fries were very cold as we're my fiances. We waited for the server to come over and since she wasnt really paying us attention my fiance started to literally wave her over. She immediately threw her hands in the air and ask "What?!" with major attitude. My fiance then told her he just wanted to ask for fresh fries and that he didnt think it was fair she threw attitude without even knowing why he was calling her over. The manager at the bar came over and wasnt really interested in our complaint but told us she was sorry and would bring us new fries. The original rude server then started going to the other customers at the bar within ear shot, calling us a-holes and saying she shouldnt have to deal with our BS. Then it got super awkward. EVERYONE around us started staring and whispering and one guy started picking on my bridesmaid who wasnt even involved in the incident. The chef ended up coming out and paid for our meals but the servers ignored us the rest of the time and everyone continued to talk about us until we left the bar. VERY awkward to say the least. Really sad since it was such a great place full of memories and we used to have a great relationship with the staff. Wont be going there again. The saddest part was the rest of my group was unsatisfied with their food as well but was so uncomfortable with the service they didnt even say anything. Long story short, customer service majorly plummeted under new management. Only giving 2 stars because the chef took off our meal.

Nice small little pub in a strip mall. There was a family with kids, and the bar was full of adults. Plenty of regulars. I had some fries with my beer and they were cooked well. They had food specials posted on the wall that looked good too. My buddy got a reuben sandwich and the meat was SERIOUSLY lacking which would be something to remember. I liked it enough as almost a hole-in-the-wall place.

Kristen is a very good waitress. The manager still ruins this place for me. Despite this I return from time to time because it is incredibly convenient and the food is decent. I like the head chef a lot. He is very friendly and fun to talk to. John A: I am sure this manager is losing business. He is incredibly rude. I have overheard him criticizing customers and employees at the bar. Please get someone else!

My family and I stopped into Aliota's yesterday on a whim because it was conveniently located near an event we were headed to. Expecting to just grab a beer and a burger, our expectations were highly exceeded. First, and most importantly the service was outstanding - Carrie, the bartender and waitress was such a sweetheart - attentive, funny and made you feel right at home! They have an extensive beer list, a complete menu with fresh ingredients and healthy options (at a bar!). I even got a glass of wine that was fresh, tasty and came in a fancy wine glass! The food was so delicious (we had a reuben, a chicken garden wrap, burger and a few sides of vegetables - all top notch)! Also - you cant beat this - FREE access to the baked potatoes bar with the purchase of "an alcoholic beverage" - all around pleasant experience and makes me wish I lived in Milwaukee!! Thank you Carrie!

Haven't eaten here in three or four years. The food had been hit or miss mostly miss. Tonight took my mom there on the spur of the moment for a fish fry. I had the cracker crumbled perch. A nice change up from the traditional beer battered. My mom had the more traditional fish fry. And she actually ate both (large) pieces of fish. She never eats more than one but commented on how good it was. We will be back.

A fine establishment with a neat atmosphere, friendly, accommodating staff, and solid food and drink specials. An Italian eatery turned pub and grille, Aliota's is a great place to take in a game or simply unwind after a long day. Suitable for groups large and small, with plenty of friendly local regulars to get acquainted with. Outdoor seating offered with accompanying flat screen.

Motz sticks were awesome!! I had the burger w/ tots. Pretty good, tots a little over cooked for me. Server was great!!!

Had the Chicken Caprese sandwich. Mmmm melted mozzarella cheese tomatoes and basil over a chicken breast with tator tots! So what's not to like?

  • Christine C.

The food and service are decent. Nothing to write home about. But it smells terrible inside! Despite looking clean and having a nice atmosphere otherwise...it smells like they're pumping urinal air into the dining area. It's revolting. I wanted to run across the street to buy Febreeze from CVS.

I've been coming to Aliota's for years and I think it must be the best kept secret in Milwaukee. The food is fantastic- the service is excellent and the drinks are expertly made. This is a great spot for all occasions and I highly recommend giving it a try.

There are people in here every night of the week. Which I take to be a good sign. Aliota's is one of my local establishments, and I'm glad that it is. Their food menu is pretty great, whether you're in the mood for a sandwich or a full entree. Personal favorites include the White Cheddar Mac 'n' Cheese (add bacon and jalapenos) and the Old Smoky Burger (beef patty topped with bacon, Gouda, onions, and BBQ sauce). (Clearly I like bacon. No apologies!) Prices are pretty in line with the rest of the Shorewood/WFB/Glendale area, ranging from $10-15ish for most items. As for drinks, Aliota's is a great place to catch up with a friend or watch a game on TV. With a mix of bar seating, high tables, and low tables, there's a space for everyone. There are lots of great drink specials each day, which seems to draw in a pretty regular late night crowd. Aliota's just celebrated its 2-year anniversary -- hopefully they'll stick around for many more to come!

Aliota's is a welcome change for this area of Whitefish Bay. There aren't too many walkable restaurants in this area - it's halfway between downtown Shorewood and downtown Whitefish Bay. Aliota's has fantastic food considering the prices and location. Where else can you get a cheeseburger and fries/tater tots/vegetables for $5? This is one of the few places who offers sauteed veggies as a standard side rather than upcharging for it. The food is better than most pub food - try the steak or the buffalo chicken sandwich. Their homemade ghost chili is also great and is almost a meal in itself! They have a good mix of beers on tap, and they have varying specials every night of the week. Drinks are reasonably priced. They have quite a few nice TVs which helps if you want to see a game. Try Aliota's for your next casual meal out - you won't be disappointed!

We have lived in the neighborhood for a number of years, and we came to Aliota's occasionally. The food was good, but the atmosphere needed updating. Lo and behold, they closed for several months in 2012 for a full remodel. 1. The food is the same - good solid pub food, and it's inexpensive. We tried the cilantro lime wings and the $5 LTO cheeseburger, which came with a side order of tots or fries. The cheeseburger was good but the wings were the star - cooked well (moist meat and crisp skin without any flab) with a really tangy sauce. I will definitely be ordering the wings on my next visit! 2. Awesome draft beer selection: Old Rasputin, Sprecher Pub Brown Ale, Fat Tire, Anchor Orchard, Sierra Nevada Torpedo, Hinterland Saison, Central Waters Red, Lakefront RiverWest, an Alaskan White, Stella, and lastly - Miller Lite. Taps are subject to change, but this is a great variety. 3. The interior has been re-done in a more open sports bar style. 4. The smokey smell that used to permeate Aliota's is completely gone. 5. The bartender that took care of my husband and I was friendly and efficient. There were several regulars in the bar, and they were all had a great relationship with the staff. 6. There are 7 flatscreen tvs: 2 very large screens, 3 medium sized tvs and 2 smaller tvs. They seem to have the various sports packages, so this seems like a great place to watch the games. 7. There are a variety of daily specials and their HH runs M-F from 2 - 6. All in all, a great remodel; we're very happy to have Aliota's back in the neighborhood!

Oh the dissapointment! I really wanted to find a decent place just a few blocks from home, but it was not to be. Came on a Friday night. Asked if they had any Friday drink specials and was told they did not. Ok, look down at the beer menu and my husband points out to the sign that says Friday has a Martini special. I point this out to our server. She tells me that it's only after 8....Confused, I tell her it IS after 8. I then ask if it is specific Martinis and off she goes to get another menu....Let's just fast forward and say the Martini was horrible. So, I end up ordering a beer after all...well..several..because everything I asked for they no longer had. She proactivly crossed these off the menu, so the next customer wouldn't have to go through the dissapointment as one after another choice was shot down. We also ordered the Fish Fry. Me Haddock. Him Perch. Both with "potato pancakes" Fish was standard fare. Potato pancakes we're closer to hashbrowns, but not the good kind. They were soggy and sad. Coleslaw was good tho' I've been told they make a pretty good burger...I may give it a try someday I'm walking back from the Estabrook Beer Garden!

I met my beautiful girlfriend here. The customer service and staff are top notch! The most polite and respectful people there! 7 months later I brought my girlfriend here again for her birthday dinner and proposed to her with her ring in a glass of sparkling juice (would have been champagne but she is pregnant). The staff there helped make the magical night happen and I appreciate it! The New York strip and jambalaya was delicious!!! Apple turnover dessert was mouth watering as well!! Thank you Aliotas!!!

Very cool suburban pub. The food is good pub grub. The staff is friendly. Kids are welcome within reasonable hours, I've taken my kids for a meal there. But there is a big pseudo-gambling area with the usual barflies hanging out, so YMMV. It's a typical Wisconsin neighborhood place, basically. The staff is very friendly and accomodating and if you're cool, they'll be cool right back at you. I'm glad Aliota's is in the area.

I stopped in Aliota's for the first time with a group of friends. LOVED IT! The bartenders we had, Carrie and Kristin were very sweet and very attentive. Drink prices are the most reasonable that I have paid in the North Shore area. We were in during Happy Hour and were offered a free baked potato bar with purchase of a drink. Totally a great place to hang out. The regulars were extremely friendly. They even had their WIFI password posted for customers to use. A patron asked to change the station and Kristin was very careful to ask all around if anyone would mind the change of station. I am definitely a fan and am happy to have a new hang out close to home.

Aliota's is great place to grab a drink or watch a game. The place looks great since the remodel. The area doesn't have many other places like Aliota's around it. The food is average but very reasonable. Other patrons seemed really friendly too.

I live within walking distance to this bar. Since the closing of TJ Aliota's and the total overhaul and reopening as Aliota's, my neighbors and I are quickly adding this place back into common meeting spots! I met one of my neighbors here yesterday after work for a quick happy hour. I've had a few of their appetizer items before and yesterday I ordered their Fish Tacos and then brought home dinner for my hubby and kids. The food is good, the service at the bar was great. Aliota's is clearly positioning themselves to be more of the neighborhood sports bar and I think it fits the area's needs very well. Since the overhaul, I can see that this place is attracting a nicer clientele then what TJ's ever did. If you're in the neighborhood or passing through, give Aliota's a shot -- you will be pleasantly surprised. Looking forwad to watching some BBall up there!

Small but nice pub. They have bar food that's okay and plenty of beer on draft.

    (3)
  • Ari D.

This is a family owned place and it shows. It's run with care and a real respect for the value of local customers. They have a great draft selection for such a small place and I think they really do a great job. For those of you who want special treatment and used to give 4 stars and now give one... Imagine if you asked McDonald's to start carrying onion rings or Subway to start selling BBQ ribs just because your preference is to have them on the random occasion you patronize their place... They'd laugh you out of the building... Have some perspective, liquor costs real money and Aliota's is trying to make it in a neighborhood where there is virtually no support for a small pub and grill. They provide a great fish fry and many beverage options but get slandered because you can't drink exactly what you want when you go there twice a month!?! Customer service is about he whole experience not breaking the bank for every whimsical request each customer makes. Next time you're there leave an extra $35 (Myers dark rum at cost) and ask them to keep the bottle in house just for you and I bet they'd be happy to. This place is great and they work hard to make very little profit in a community where most people are in bed by 11pm. Get over yourselves and support locally owned and operated businesses or keep your whining to yourself.

  • Thomas N.

The remodel surely did this place wonders. A definitive increase in the food quality. The bar does get busy from time to time which is good -- and people are overly friendly (in a good way) Bottom line: it's a great place to go and have a few beers with friends if you like the smaller, less-intensive atmosphere.

This place is great and they work hard to make very little profit in a community where most people are in bed by 11pm. Get over yourselves and support locally owned and operated businesses or keep your whining to yourself.

The remodel surely did this place wonders. A definitive increase in the food quality. The bar does get busy from time to time which is good -- and people are overly friendly (in a good way) Bottom line: it's a great place to go and have a few beers with friends if you like the smaller, less-intensive atmosphere.
