Most amazing place to eat.....EVER!!! The salmon was amazing. Cooked to perfection. The service is the best! You never have to ask for a refill.

Only plus..is view of the gorgeous golf course while sitting at the patio. Dishes were overpriced and our waitress was just over eager. Ofcourse they have too assume that anyone that dines here is on a pleasure trip or vacation.

Best French fries ever. We went there for lunch. Started with Wisconsin Bloody Mary (with horseradish-infused vodka.). Very good. The corn /sausage chowder is thick, creamy and flavorful. If you get more than a cup you can forget about eating anything else. I had the walleye sandwich which was on toast and had just the right amount of extras - mayo, lettuce - to be good. Hubby had the sandwich special w/ ham, bacon, peppers, provolone and more and he loved it. I think their beer-battered French fries are arguably the best fries I have ever tasted. I'm not an expert, but I do work with lots of restaurants and I recommend that you try these for yourselves. They are awesome - for once I didn't need ketchup!

Beautiful view of the golf course. I am not crazy about all that cabin style decor but food here is amazing.

Good food-- needs a bit better service! We arrived at Blackwolf Run for a nice Saturday afternoon lunch following a trek through the Waelderhaus Gingerbread Judging. We were seated promptly with a lovely view over the golf course, and ordered waters, at which point we also asked for their vegetarian menus. It took a bit before we received the normal menus, but the veg menus were still nowhere in sight, so we asked again. Finally after about 5 more minutes we received the menus (not sure if they had to print them out...?) Ultimately everyone at the table (two veg and two omnivores) all ended up ordering off the vegetarian menu as it seemed to hold some delicious treats that were missing from the main menu! I ordered one of their mushroom melt sandwiches with a side of fries. I also ordered a cup of tomato basil soup. The soup was a great starter, with a rich and creamy texture that I thoroughly enjoyed. The sandwich, however, left something to be desired. The amount of liquid in the mushrooms lead to a somewhat soggy bread that was lacking a bit in taste. The fries were pretty standard. It wasn't bad-- it just wasn't great. Strangely, the wedge salad that we ordered from the vegetarian menu came WITH bacon. I'm not sure if we can chalk this up to kitchen error or wait-staff error, but it was fortunately not an issue as the salad was going to be eaten by one of the tables omnivores. Overall I'd skip this restaurant unless I was headed to the course for a round of golf. It's standard clubhouse food that doesn't stand out in my mind.

The hubby and I visit Kohler semi often and this was our first time at the Blackwolf Run Restaurant! We really enjoyed the food and service. We were seated in the larger dining area with the beautiful view! We were hoping to spot some wildlife...but like our hike earlier, not much luck!!!! I ordered the chicken with mushroom and swiss...which was quite tasty. The potato gnocchi was DELICIOUS that came with it! I could have eaten an entire plate of that! The hubby ordered the salmon, in a lemon sauce that came with little potatoes! Yummy!! We NEVER order dessert, but I was definitely feeling some dessert that evening. We ordered the apple pie. The hubby and I were fighting for bites of the delicious dessert! So good!!!!! The service was solid as well, as for all the service we ever receive when we visit Kohler! We would for sure come back to the restaurant, I would love to try their lunch some time as well!!

Spending a weekend at the American Club. Four of us for dinner. Overall everything was very good, except for our seating which was next to a door to an outside eating area. There was a lot of traffic and each time the door opened there was a cool breeze. We started with Wisconsin cheese and sausage plate and the grilled vegetable bruschetta. We also tried the spinach and poached pear salad. All were excellent. Our entrees included the short ribs, walleye, beef medallions and the fried perch special. These were all very good. Our desserts included a unique and excellent item: s'mores. They serve the graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate along with a mini flame device so you actually could cook and assemble your own s'more. I would likely go back if I ever return to the American Club.

Good food, not great, a bit expensive for what you get.

As we were driving around in the dark trying to find this place my friend said, "I feel like we're in Brigadoon." We were led rather astray in going to this restaurant. We asked at the desk at the Inn on Woodlake where to get dinner (not too fancy) and the clerk said that this place had "steaks and sandwiches." She also said "you'll see it." Well, it's a good thing I had a Garmin, because in the pitch dark we sure didn't see it. The restaurant is about a quarter mile off the road, and even the sign is obscured by prairie grass. (There is apparently a shuttle that goes from the hotel; your best bet would be to take it.) As for steaks and sandwiches...not at dinner, the sandwiches anyway. Prices apparently shoot up. We were pretty surprised. Still, We each had a salad (mixed green for her, poached pear for me) and appetizer (sushi-style chicken crunch roll for her, coconut shrimp with a very strident citrus compote for me), and with their excellent bread, we were really quite full. Dawn, our server, was very sweet and solicitous, and made sure everything ran smoothly. I would probably try somewhere else on a future trip to Kohler, but if you go, bring your compass and your flashlight!

Best Walleye Sandwich I have ever had! Great views, and rustic woods ambiance. Get the corn and sausage soup! It is almost as amazing as the Walleye. I can't wait to golf Black Wolf Run!

As I sit and stare out on the panoramic view of the Blackwolf Run golf course with the Sheboygan River running through it, I can't decide which is better . . . the food in front of me . . .or the view. Blackwolf Run Restaurant is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The setting and decor remind me of a mountain lodge with it's exposed rough hewn log walls and floor to ceiling windows. You can enjoy your meal inside in front of the fieldstone fireplace, or, weather permitting outside on the patio that gives you the perfect view of the 18th green. For lunch daily, you can enjoy either the lunch buffet featuring a chef's choice salad, soup or chili, entree and beverage for only $9.50. Or, if you prefer, you can order off the menu some of the hearty fare that Wisconsin is known for like the sausage corn chowder, or the double bratwurst served on a Sheboygan hard roll (oh Wisconsin breads- one of the many things I miss from when I lived there!) We went with the buffet and had steak chili, salad and steak fajitas served with rice and sauteed peppers and onions. Very good. But then we ordered from the dessert tray. While my cherry crisp was good (warm cherry cobbler topped with melting vanilla ice cream) my favorite dessert was the "Do it yourself S'mores". Check out the pictures I posted. This dessert is fun and delicious as they bring out your own "personal campfire" to roast your marshmallows on along with graham cracker cookies and chocolate sauce to pour over the whole thing. Here's a tip- ask for a sharp knife and cut the marshmallow chunks into more manageable sizes and you might not burn the place down like we almost did (of course all the laughing we were doing didn't help!) This dessert brings out the kid in everyone as we compared our toasting skills just like when we were 10 and sitting in front of a real campfire! Service was terrific- friendly and helpful, offering suggestions along the way. The view . . or my food . . hmm . . .I still can't decide which one was better. But I guess it doesn't really matter as they both were terrific!

The scenery is BEAUTIFUL!!! We got a table with a great view overlooking the patio and golf course - I was temporarily transformed to serenity! Now, on to the food... It was during lunch so they had their buffet, which looked good, but I decided to order off the menu. Their signature corn sausage chowder is a MUST TRY for any patron. I wasn't really in the mood for soup (since the weather was soo nice), but I'm sure glad I went ahead & ordered it anyway! The selection of house-made desserts had me salivating on a full stomach. The lemon meringue provided the perfect finish to a fabulous lunch!

We stopped at Blackwolf Run for lunch after enjoying the Kohler Art museum. We had a beautiful view of the course and the changing leaves, and we really appreciated how attentive, friendly, and honest our server was. I ordered the Cheesesteak sandwich and my husband had the chicken and bacon sandwich, both recommended by our server. We absolutely loved what we ordered. They tasted carefully crafted and were very flavorful. We enjoyed the cherry cheesecake for dessert, as well. We remarked that it was one of the few places we have been that we would have returned back to the next day, as there were at least four other things on the menu that looked delicious. We can't wait to visit again soon!

Blackwolf run was just ok, unfortunately. Locale: Location was beautiful, we were seated at a table overlooking the golf course and river, which were beautiful. But a lot of the tables had wooden poles in front of them, and ours was no exception, which interrupted the view. Food: Shrimp appetizer was ok. Seemed to lack any zest. I had a ceasar salad which was really good, Husband's apple and goat cheese sald was very good. I had a stuffed pork chop, which was stuffed with carmelized apples, pistachios, and blue cheese. Pork chop was overdone. Most of the filling had fallen out of the chop. Needed more blue cheese than was present for good flavor. Whipped potatoes were blah. Husband's lobster pasta was just ok. The sauce tasted like tomato paste with not much else in it. We much prefer Biaggi's lobster pasta. Service: Our waitress was very sweet. However, obviously not trained in fine dining service. Had to ask for silverware after she took ours, had to ask for extra drinks, were never asked how our food was after it was served. Asking how the food is a few minutes after served is service 101. I hate to say it, but I've had better room service at the American Club than the dinner I had at Blackwolf Run last week.

The stuffed pork chops were excellent. My wife had the chicken and cheesy grits which was not so good, The chicken was over-cooked and the grits lacked flavor. Be careful in what you order. The views out over the golf course are great!

Great lunch! Great scenery, views of the course and log cabin ambiance. Love the turkey, bacon, avacado, pita sandwich... and fries! Our best meal and service while in Kohler.

Service was good, view was amazing, food was JUST ok. Alone the dessert would have been 5 stars, and If I ever come back I'm skipping the entree and just getting dessert.

First off, What a view!! Chicken curry soup was very tasteful. Large chunks of chicken with fresh veggies. Not too much curry taste, just right. I chose the spinach salad with dried cherries and pistachios. Was good. My husband ordered the Philly steak sandwich. Wow!! It came in a bread bowl with meat and cheese and the sauce which might have been a gazillion calories, but so what! And with the beer batter fries....our blood pressure might be up maybe, but it was with it! Great waitress Heidi!
