In April the local Hudson youth are out and about, getting married, smiling. You can smell the pheromones in the Street. It was all too much for an introvert like me. I snuck into the small-windowed Dragon Pearl, lured by the promise of Sushi. Sushi is not common in the UK. While living there I frequently relied on one chain "Yo Sushi" to fulfil my Sushi needs. It did the job. This was my first Sushi since returning to the USA. The staff were genuinely helpful and smiling without being intrusive. Awesome. The food was double as good as Yo Sushi. The price was fine. I left happy. The ceiling was enjoyable too, I'm developing a ceiling fetish, it's a good place to look if you're an introvert and there are a lot of people around.

Had a great lunch today. Didn't know they did Sushi. The Sushi was fresh and I was served quickly. I ordered a side of fried rice. Very good as well. If your in or around Hudson Wi, then give this place a shot.

Nice Chinese+Japanese place. Hostess and waiter were nice and friendly. Food was good. And the prices were fair.

Real toss-up on which 'Chinese' food in Hudson sucks the most: Dragon Pearl or Shanghai Bistro. DP clearly the front runner on lack of flavor of any kind, whereas SB finishes first in gastrointestinal distress. SB does have beer served in bar glasses (labeled Bud Light, etc) which is true a mark of high class any time they are used in a setting outside the bar or home. I'm gonna put DP just slightly above SB for now. Won't be back at either soon to update review.

Great American Chinese + Japanese. The new management has really went above and beyond to spruce up the menu and service, along with a few changes to the interior. They also added sushi menu and that it is awesome and it's well priced for the area. If you eat in, they really have fun with their presentation for sushi, complete with a little boat that it sits on. (I'm a sicker for cultural clichés.) The decor is everything you expect in a normal Japanese restaurant, so for the review that bashed the decor, this isn't the cities; lighten up a bit! The staff is friendly and happy to help in any way. I just wish they offered delivery for those inside the city of Hudson. If they ever did, I'd order from them on a regular basis!

Yelp drives me crazy when I can't give this place 3.5 stars. Takeout service: nice Food quality: excellent Style: very American Chinese Pros: egg rolls, orange chicken and chicken lo mein. All very good. Cons: 1. cream cheese wontons. What the heck was that basic fold over and fry process. Doing so reduces the amount of cheese inside and makes them too hard. Stick with the Cantonese or Taiwan style folds. 2. Hot and Sour soup. Needs more pepper and less corn starch. The soup was way too thick. Otherwise, good flavor. 3. Szechuan Chicken. Again, too much starch. Needs more chicken to co

Very good food and service. Only draw back very little parking for pick up or eat in.

This used to be our favorite Chinese food place, but several months ago we noticed they started to cut corners. The most obvious was that they replaced their awesome egg rolls with greasy, frozen Sam's Club-like egg rolls. After getting these twice, we won't go back, even if the meals are good. (Who knows where else they are cutting corners?!)

We have been coming here for years but lately our favorite Chinese restaurant isn't so much our favorite anymore and it's solely due to the new owners. We would have given Dragon Pearl at least another star but the new owners are grumpy, make no effort to be friendly and they changed how you can special order food. The previous owners, John and Helen were testaments to the Hudson area but sadly, after John's sudden death, Helen sold Dragon Pearl to two women who quite frankly, have no business speaking to the general public. Helen made it a point to know everyone's name and speak to you about your family. EVERYONE. The new lady has no time for you. You're in her way. And she just had a kid. Ugh. For instance, if I want fried rice with my meal instead of white rice, I should be able to get it. They said no. Whenever I ask for more sweet and sour sauce, the owner looks at me, slightly shakes her head and gives an audible sigh. It's gotten so funny, I actually request extra just to see if she'll do it and I'm never disappointed. The rest of the employees are great as is the food; which is why we keep coming here.

Right downtown and parking can be a devil if you try to pick up dinner. BUT....chinese is hard to come by around these parts. I wish they delivered...but again no delivery. Walked in to get take out 21.00 for sweet and sour and general chicken. It was tasty and hot the hubby loved the General chicken he had it spicy. I have had better s and s....The employees were really friendly and nice. I would order here again.

New owners. Gross food. potstickers and wontons were thick and tasteless. kung pao chicken was completely tasteless. truly, this place is no longer worth your money. It used to be so good. it's sad how gross it's gotten.

From our adventure to Glenwood City, we had a craving for some Chinese food and came across this darling restaurant. Cozy little booths, friendly and fast service and really GREAT food! I had the sesame chicken combo (known as No.7) and that was the best sesame chicken I've ever had, compared to Big Bowl Chinese and Thai (which is quite amazing in itself). The egg roll that came with it I believe was pork and fried rice were just as delicious. The rest of my family crew were very happy with their dishes. I hope to be in Hudson again to eat here!

Our family loves their take out, the best we've had. Always get the sesame chicken, shrimp lo mein and sweet and sour pork.

This place reminds me of high school, when my friends and I would come down here for dinner and think that we were kinda cool for being out without our parents. But this is just a testament to how decent Dragon Pearl is. For a Wisconsin joint, they should feel a cut above the rest. Helen is one sweet lady and she knows how to make boring Chinese taste just a little unique. I am fond of most of the spicy dishes and for some reason, I think she has the best chicken chow mein around. The lo mein is also pretty good, as the veggies are recognizable and taste like they're supposed to. Their take on cream cheese wontons is also pretty good, as they aren't overly crisped or overly fried. All in all, for Hudson, this place is pretty darn all right. The neighborly feel and and Helen's enthusiasm for every customer (if you come regularly, she WILL remember you) makes you feel at home. Good for take out too!

Wow... we moved here from California (Bay Area) 2-1/2 years ago, haven't had real Chinese food in a long time. Finally, a real Chinese restaurant, and guess what.. it's better than what you find in San Francisco! Trust me, i lived in SF for 18 years, this place is a huge surprise. Another reviewer said it wasn't as good as PF Changs... umm.. dude, this is Chinese food, not over-priced make believe Chinese food. Try it... you'll like it!

The food here is good and fresh every time I stop by. It's a nice. Neighborhood place for an unpretentious meal. Good for take out also.

This is a casual restaurant with reliable, friendly service and good food. We've been to Dragon Pearl many times and never had a bad experience. Everything is freshly made, the sauces taste homemade and the ingredients are good quality. The food won't blow you away if you're used to authentic Chinese, but it's the best I've had in the area.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
