My wife and I tried this restraunt and quite frankly it was not a good dining experience. The waitress we had was rude and not very friendly at all. It took a bit to get our water refilled. The steak we had was average but when my wife bit into hers there was plastic still on the garlic butter for her steak. When brought to the attention of the waitress and management we were told it was impossible and they got VERY adamant that it was not the cooks fault. I work in customer service as well and even I know you do not argue with the customer. We have been vacationing in Hayward for over 15 yrs and I will say this was the worst experience we have had here. There was no apologies or no attempt to correct the problem. Needless to say not going back.

We had a great dinner there tonight. Another fun Supper Club. It dished out good food and service.

Not sure what some of the other reviews were talking about. I walked in with one other person at 8:40 (they close at 9:00) and got fantastic service. The food was phenomenal, steaks were great and they didn't skimp on anything, especially because we showed up and ended up being the last people in the restaurant. Prices were very fair and worth he quality of food that you got. Overall I wouldn't look at the past reviews, even though the place was empty, the service and food was great, I would definitely come back.

Went here the other night didn't realize that we were suppose to get a relish tray and rolls and bread sticks until after leaving. I would have understand if the restaurant was busy but there was only two other people in there with us. It was not well lit so we could barely read the menu. We were never asked if we wanted our water or drinks refilled. The chicken sandwich didn't really have any flavor and was way to over priced for what you get. I will not be returning anytime soon if ever. I will not be recommending the ranch like I usually do to people that ask, sending them to the steakhouse.

It's mom's birthday. Her favorite cut of meet? Ribeye! Sadly her 70th b-day dinner was average and just more than slightly disappointing. We both worked our way through unseasoned poor quality grisly meet that was either defrosted or finished in a microwave not grilled or broiled. Certainly we're not in Chicago at Gibson's or Smith and Wollensky, but I would a expect a 12 oz. (no where near actual weight at the table) $23 piece of meet to be of a better quality and served with better preparation than was received. This said, the service was attentive, hospitable, and kind. The relish tray and other accompaniments were well received; mom loved the pickled herring and radishes. The desserts were excellent: chocolate and carrot cakes, and a healthy scoop of vanilla for dad. The decor is north woods elegant mixed with shabby chic elements; well done with the lighting. The atmosphere is a bit louder than we like. I suppose the adjacent bar's pass through window and construction loud server station were a miss for us. Try the chicken or salmon. I heard other diners comment with pleasure. I may go back but not for the meet. It's sad because there's a custom butcher in town right in the middle of lush farm land. There has to be some great grass fed Angus walking near by. Two stars is low, I know. Yet, the meet really was rough and tough.

We ate here tonight. The only reason that we are not giving it 5 stars is because of the long wait between courses. The food was DELICIOUS. I got the Ribeye and my hubby got the Walleye Scampi. We would come here again and definitely recommend it. My old fashioned was perfect also.

Great service. Excellent food. Had their 6oz tenderloin. Portion wasn't huge but just the right size. Cheese curds were great. Atmosphere was nice for a Northwoods Wisconsin supper club.

Second summer in a row we've visited this place. Its a neat little supper club, with servers that are really good and food that is pretty average. The prices are fair, and given how awful the service is in most places in Hayward (and I don't blame others places much, its hard to keep up the friendly pace when you are overrun with tourists for months at a time) this is a oasis of calm and competence that is a welcome addition to the vacation. I had the seafood trio this last time...oddly it was deep fried, and the batter was meh, but the meat inside was good. They have an okay beer list with good local offerings. I know we'll go back if we return to Hayward for a future vacation, and that is just fine with me!

This is a classic Wisconsin supper club. I've never been disappointed. Good food, good prices and pleasant surroundings.

A little difficult to find but worth the effort! Understated ambience but exceedingly friendly staff. We had the ribeye and fillet steak dinners. Both were done to our liking and the cuts were excellent. The house salads were unremarkable but the house dressing was very good. I had hash browns for my potato and was very satisfied with the consistency and flavor. The portions were very generous for the price and the quality. I would recommend The Ranch and I would definitely return.

Try the fillet, I thought it was a tender cut. Will need a little salt, but was a great steak! Careful on the relish tray. I do believe that is cold fish in the little cup.

What a fun place to visit when up north in Wisconsin. A true supper club with a relish tray and mean cocktails to boot! Our server Jan was fantastic and a great deal of fun. Everyone in our party enjoyed their steaks! A great way to celebrate a night out with friends, and a must stop when up this direction!

We stopped at the Ranch going through town because there wasn't much still open at 8pm on Saturday. They definitely need to work on there parking lot. Didn't have reservation, we waited about 10 minutes to be seated. Was surprised when we were seated there were so many empty tables in one of the side rooms but main room was full. They had a prime rib special so that was what we both ordered. Came with potato side and side salad. Table also had bread basket and vegetable tray. Although the prime rib tasted good, I had the smaller portion while my boyfriend got the bigger one, his didn't seem that much bigger than mine. Our waitress was definitely slow. I'm assuming she had tables in main room and was forgetting about us in the other room. The next day both of us were not feeling well and we know it was the prime rib. We plan on traveling to Hayward next year but we will definitely be eating somewhere else.

Food is not special at all and the owners have some shady business practices. The drinks are the only thing decent. Stay home save the money and mix your own drinks. Save time, money and the risk of driving in town.
