The food was awful !! My boyfriend had the prime rib and it wasn't good and it was not very flavorful. I had the tortellini and it was very very under cooked it was inedible. Very very disappointed. But the waitress was very nice.

This was a great place to eat great authentic Italian Food. It is owned by a local Italian family. It is very comparable to Olive Garden, but I would probably say that their selections were better and more extensive. I had the Baked Ziti with a glass of Lambrusco, Lo Duca (Italy). What can I say, it was a great pairing. This was my first time trying the Lambrusco, and it was delicious, not too sweet and not too dry, and had a little fizz to it. I could have drank it alone or with a dish. And the salad was delicious.

In my opinion the best Italian anywhere in or around Milwaukee. The blackened chicken Alfredo is the bomb and if my stomach didn't have it's limits I would eat it until I threw up. The only downfall is the creepy picture on the wall of a bunch of Italian dudes creeping on a chick but other than that this place rocks.

I came here a couple years ago for a birthday party, I've driven by hundreds of times. Ever since that party I've come back every few months. the staff is great the salad and bread sticks are very good too. I've tried a few different pasta dishes and haven't had a bad meal. I'll be back again.

3.5 stars!! PORTABELLA MUSHROOM RAVIOLI! Seriously, worth the trip for the best ravioli I've had in a long time. It also had pine nuts... delicious. How could you pass that up? This place attracts the local senior crowd, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I heard some of the most interesting conversations during our 10-minute wait for a table. It's nothing that can't be dealt with. We learned going forward to make reservations ahead of time. Even a Monday night yielded a long wait. Service : ok, I've had better, and faster, but we were with a group and in no hurry. She brought out the salad and breadsticks fairly quickly. Kind of Olive Garden-ish, but no big deal. This seems to be a gathering place for the young 'uns too - as we were leaving and waiting to pay the waitress, a rowdy "20-something" crowd arrived. Their cake said "Happy 24th Birthday!" Hint : teeny, tiny bathroom. (2 tiny little stalls!) My suggestion is to go when there doesn't appear to be a line.

I have eaten here several times over the last five years. I had lunch there yesterday with a small group of people. The service was nonexistent. We had to wait 15 minutes to be seated even though we had reservations and our table is ready. We waited another 15 minutes before someone came to take our drink order. Another 15 minutes went by before she came back and took our food order. I am not impressed with the quality or flavor of the food. I remember having delicious meals here a couple years ago. My gluten-free lasagna was served to me frozen. I am not kidding. The meat and cheese and sauce were frozen solid. My moms prime rib was chewy. The food quality has gone down. I did not receive anything more than an apology for the frozen lasagna. I had to wait 15 minutes for it to be heated while everyone else ate in front of me. They did not offer a comp of any kind. That is pretty crappy. I mean take 10% off of my meal or offer me a free dessert or something for my inconvenience. Not here. Toward the end of the meal the waitress came to check on us finally. We told her we were done and wanted to check. We waited another 15 to 20 minutes and no waitress. My mom had to get up and walk around the restaurant to track the waitress down to get the bill to pay it. My mom filled out the credit card info quickly and the waitress was gone. What a long meal that was not very fun. I am highly disappointed in the lack of customer service and the quality of food. The only reason they get two stars is because a couple of years ago when I lost my job I stopped at That's Amore. The bartender was very sweet to me and gave me a free drink. She was very encouraging and kind. Otherwise I would give them only one star.

I've only visited one time for lunch, but I have a feeling the food is awesome all of the time. The restaurant was very busy on a Friday lunch hour. The walls were adorned with framed photos of Dean Martin and Rat Pack music played over the sound system. Either they LOVE Dean Martin or his family owns a stake in the restaurant. I started with an order of garlic bread ($3.79). A platter of eight large diagonally cut sections of bread arrived. This was only $3.79?!?! Wow! The bread was perfectly crisp on the outside and slightly soft in the center. The top half of the bread was soaked in butter, but too much. They applied the perfect amount of garlic and butter IMO. This was some of the best garlic bread I've had. I wish I would have added the cheese to the order. Next time.... The Chicken Parmigiana lunch special ($9.79) came with unlimited house salad with house Italian dressing and garlic bread sticks which were crispy and chewy with a coating of butter and garlic. The chicken breast was coated with bread crumbs mixed with Italian seasoning, and it was tender and juicy. The house made red sauce was on the sweet side. I can't believe it took me so long to try this place, definitely among the best Italian food anywhere in town.

Been here in a number of occasions. Good pasta, burgers, steak and delicious endless salad, breadsticks and soda. Menu is priced moderately and the decor and ambiance centers on pictures of The Rat Pack. Couldn't ask for more. Keep up the great work! We will continue coming back.

We loved this restaurant so we selected it for our rehearsal dinner. The servers were great but the venue was a let-down. They let diners into our reserved space which bumped our event time by 45 minutes! The night before your wedding you already have all these nerves built up and it was really disappointing. The food has always been exceptional but the shrimp linguine was very bland.

Love the salad, love the food. But the waitstaff needs improvement. I eat here 3-4 times a year and the dinner is always great. My only compliant is the overloading of sauce in the dishes... And I LOVE sauce. If the lot looks full but the immediate seating sign is on, they're not lying. It bigger than it looks inside.

This is the best Italian restaurant I've ever eaten at! They've been Milwaukee's A list winner I believe for 4yrs! You really can't go wrong with any Italian dish on the menu. The prices are very reasonable. The only downside is they took my favorite dish off their menu. "Alfredo goes Jamaican" I've been going to this restaurant for about 10 years and have never had a bad experience! I would make the trip out there much more often if they had not gotten rid of that dish but hey what are you going to do.

Wonderful food, great service and...oh yeah...wonderful food! This love affair started in 2004 when I was introduced to this place by an Italian friend who said her grandmother eats here. Really? Grandma? Whatever...so I went and fell in love. Fast forward 6 years and my brother demanded his HS grad party was catered by That's Amore. The catering from here is GREAT!!!! They gave huge platters of food, enough salad, salad dressing and breadsticks to fill Lake Michigan and even asked if we needed more salad and breadsticks. I think my poor parents were eating Italian for a week. After college graduation, I moved back to the 'burbs for a bit and was reminded of this place. I've eaten here a few times but the best is if you pick up the food and take it home. They give you an entire styrofoam container full of lettuce, lots of dressing, tons of breadsticks and about 3 meals worth of pasta or food! I'll stuff myself when I have meal 1 from That's Amore and I ALWAYS have enough for 3 meals if I order take out from here. The owner is fabulous. It's so nice to see a family run business succeeding with such concern for their customers! Go eat here!!!

We've been eating here for nearly the past twenty years. I can honestly say that I've never had a bad meal. I know that's hard to believe, but I talked to my wife tonight and she agrees. We've had a couple of things that weren't perfect, but never a bad meal. That says a lot for a place.

My family had a 30 person party here. My wife and I flew in from out of town as a surprise, but we hadn't considered that we wouldn't have seating available. There was no more room; everyone was already packed in pretty well. We were in a real bind, so I went over to talk to one of the servers. She was able to find a small table from somewhere in the kitchen, pull up two extra seats, and fit us in. Great service and outside-the-box thinking. When I checked in on Yelp, an offer popped up for a free appetizer. I ended up having the fried calamari, with the swordfish as the main course. The calamari was pretty good, and the swordfish was one of the better fishes I've eaten.

We were in Milwaukee for the weekend and had a craving for Italian food. I looked up some yelp reviews and we decided to try That's Amore and we were no disappointed! The hostess and our waitress were very friendly, the food was good and it had a nice atmosphere. I loved that they had a 300 calorie and under menu as well. I ordered the 300 calorie Egglplant and not only only was it delicious, but there was so much food that it was hard to believe that it was only 300 calories!

This has become our go to place for great Italian food. Lots of it too - come hungry. The salad and breadsticks are not only bottomless but great tasting. Very budget friendly too - If you can, hit the lunch time for a real value.

My guy and I were looking for a good italian place to eat at and he decided to bring me here. Everything about this place was fantastic. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful which is very important to me. It was also a quiet setting and very relaxed. We ordered mussels which he didn't think were the best, but I thought they were delicious. Then the pastas came out and it was twice as much food as we were expecting and probably the best mostacholi I've EVER had! They gave me enough food to eat for a week! All in all, it was a little pricey, but worth it if you're looking to splurge a little for good food :)

The food is always great and portions are generous. We were originally told it would be a 30 min wait but it was an hour. Right before we were seated a couple that arrived after us was shown a table in the bar. This option was not offered to us. How many tables did we miss out on because of this?

Went here to celebrate my aunts 90th birthday for lunch on 3/10/14. The whole thing was horrible, from start to finish. First they take us to be seated, and I have about two inches to get into my seat because of a larger group sitting at a table in the middle section. I had to figure that one out myself. Then my aunt has a walker and we received no assistance in finding an out of the way place to put it while we ate. I was actually ok with all of that until our food, then it all came to a head, of a horrible start to finish experience. Took some time for waitress to come, she then acted very rushed and not overly friendly. Breadsticks came almost cold and getting tough, and salad was limp and not good like it usually is. I ordered the soup of the day, which was spaghetti noodle bean something, no flavor, and so many beans, that was all you tasted. I decided at that point, I'm not eating this and wanted to get the Minestrone soup, and fresh breadsticks. My sister at this point was out of her all you can eat shrimp, and wanted more. Waitress had not been back to see if things were ok yet, figured she had to be coming soon, no such luck! Waited, waited, finally I asked the hostess if she could get her for us. My sister commented that my soup looked like watered down spaghetti. I asked how the shrimp were, she said a bit over cooked, but ok. That doesn't sound wonderful...got my soup changed to the Minestrone and I wondered if I was going crazy, no taste, no flavor. I added some salt twice, didn't even dent it, terrible, and I'm not a fussy eater. I made my sister taste it, wondering if it was me, she said it wasn't terrible, but agreed it was blah. I then thought, I know, it's Monday, the soups were probably made today for the week and the flavors haven't blended yet. So took it home and ate it two days later to find, not really, still blah. We have been here before with my aunt, and it's been good, the outside terrace is beautiful to sit out on in warmer weather, but after this experience I don't think any of us want to go back...my opinion, don't risk it, go someplace else

Let me begin with the positive. The al fresco dining courtyard is pretty. The service was good. And they offer gluten free options. But the gluten free pasta was not as good as many I've had though better than a few. Mostly overcooked which made it almost soupy. But worse yet was the "normal" part of my dish. I had the baked zita. The sausage tasted like ground hamburger mixed in a red sauce with a different red sauce poured over the top. The cheese added nothing but more gooey texture that was not good. There was just no body to the meal. It was a gooey mix up. I ate half and pleasantly asked for no box for leftovers. It also was hard to watch our on duty waitress sit at another table with some friends as our group was ready to check out. Where we had to pass out tip over to her and she didn't even get up to come get it. And hardly broke her conversation to eek out a Ty.

I was here for lunch and was a little nervous about eating Italian fare since I'm a gluten free and dairy free diner. To my surprise, Justin was very accommodating and didn't make me feel weird about asking for a special order. He happily got me a plain chicken breast instead of the breaded one, made sure there were no crouton on my salad, and steamed some veggies so I didn't get the ones covered in butter. It was delicious and I was so impressed I decided to hire them for catering. When calling in the order, Joe was again very accommodating and polite. I would recommend That's Amore very highly for their customer service and food quality!

Sometimes you just want spaghetti & meatballs. I cannot say, 'I can make this at home.' I won't make it and I know it. But, it is a special occasion that warrants ordering an old favorite. At That's Amore, they make it right. The meatballs are spiced in a way that allows them to stand alone. They do not get lost in the flavor of the marinara sauce. You receive two of them in a large bowl of perfectly al dente spaghetti noodles and a hefty ladle (or three) of the house marinara. You may order more meatballs, but you will not be able to after you eat the two. They are oversized and very filling. I made only a tiny dent in the pasta, because I was all about consuming the planet-sized meatballs. You may pass by the spaghetti, thinking it ordinary or like me--you can make it at home. Sure you can. But, will you? And, will you make anything as good as the ones served up here?

Yes, all I did on my recent Staycation was eat out EVERYDAY and imbibe EVERY NIGHT :) It's been a while since I've had the pleasure to return to this establishment, but when asked where was a nice, quiet place to enjoy a nice bottle of wine and have great converation without losing one's voice and/or hearing, of course, That's Amore came to mind! The bar is cozy and well - appointed. Our bartender knew enough of wines to help me choose between an Australian Shiraz or Cabernet. And knew well enough to allow us space/time throughout our evening. But, the best part is, she was careful to instruct us that there is NO RIGHT TURN ON RED when leaving the restaurant :) so as not to get a tix!

I've been to That's Amore at least a dozen times over the last few years, and find it to be quite hit or miss. I've had excellent meals, and some that missed by a mile. The scary part is that I can't even predict when or why. Needless to say, consistency is a real issue. When the bread sticks are right, they're something to look forward to. Unfortunately, I've received them both hard as a rock, and undercooked and dripping in butter. Entrees have also been an adventure. Most of the time, the Friday fish fry is one of the best in the area. However the last one was barely edible...cold, greasy and just downright yuck. The chicken spedini (sp) at That's Amore is one of my wifes all time favorite meals, and we'll continue to go there - until she gets a bad one.

You have to be kidding me! One of the poorest "Italian" meals I have ever been served. Awful. The portions are HUGE and totally uncalled for! They don't know how to cook!!! If you have ever been to Italy, then you'll well understand how unappetizing the food is. We began by ordering the fried eggplant sticks on the recommendation of our server. We have had this dish in a number of restaurants around the country as well as Europe so we are well aware of how they should be prepared. The offering here arrive and they were crispy, but saturated with oil.The portion size was huge - entirely too much served as appetizer for 2 people. My wife ordered the salad, it was fresh, but not seasoned properly at all. The black olives are out of a can-what does that tell you? The salad was served in a huge bowl for 2 people; entirely too much to eat. My wife ordered Sicilian Pork Tenderloin - this dish is basically (or should be) a very lightly breaded serving in properly prepared breadcrumbs: Amore's was awful. My wife couldn't even eat it. And we had specifically instructed our server to place all the "toppings" on the side so she could enjoy the meat. She couldn't eat it, the bread crumbs were all dried spices with no taste of cheese or garlic. It frankly tasted overwhelmingly of dried spices and nothing else, she ate a few bites and left the rest. The server took it off our bill. I ordered the what these guys call: "chicken piccata." I was stunned at what was served me. It was terrible. In a HUGE oval plate, I was presented with THREE HUGE Chicken breasts that had been floured and deep fried and then drenched in some yellow watery liquid which had no taste of anything much less piccata. The pasta accompanying the chicken was also in the same plate along with a HUGE serving of broccoli which had no taste. Our bread was "bread sticks" that were alarming similar to the Colonial Bread we had growing up. Nothing more that white bread lightly toasted with some margarine brushed on top. Didn't even try them since they looked so unappetizing. That's Amore should really advise newbie's here as to the portion size. There would be no way that we could possibly enjoy these sizes and would certainly not want to take any of it home.

The best way to describe That's Amore is Olive Garden...only better! All meals come with salad and bread sticks. The bread sticks were nice and fresh and the salad was pretty yummy! Probably had a lot to do with all of the oil! I had the cheese tortellini with alfredo. It was pretty good....no complaints. Our server was friendly and checked back with us frequently. She even put a candle on my dessert because she over heard it was my birthday. They have a patio that I wouldn't mind sitting on next time I stop in.

I used to be a fan of this place... things have gone downhill. Last visit we ordered an appetizer that was inedible (waitress did take it back and did not charge us for it) and we had someone in our group end up with a big piece of foil in his dinner. He said the food was good but a forkfull of foil in your mouth makes you want to stop eating. The waitress apologized and took that off the bill and explained that they store things in foil and reheat. Damn, I hate finding out my food wasn't immediately made fresh for me!... ;) Also, my husband was a big fan of the baked ziti until this recent visit where they totally skimped on the meat and it was just a big bowl of mushy noodles. My food was still very good (the spinach canelloni special is the best!) but others in my party had bad luck so I'll avoid this place.

I love this place! Food is very good at a reasonable price. I also love the sunken bar. The bartenders are very friendly and the waitstaff has never let us down. My favorite is chicken parmesan and the baked ziti is also great. Great salad bowl before the meal. Also dress is pretty casual so no need to get the tux out to go to eat.

What can I say about That's Amore? It's kind of a big deal in my family- we have been eating it (mostly as takeout) for over ten years, and the two to three times we get it every year always feels like a celebration- even when I'm eating it stuck at work. Every meal is served with salad and breadsticks- the breadsticks and salad are average, but the house italian served with the salad is the best salad dressing I have encountered on this planet. As for the entrees, I've mostly stuck to the pasta ones throughout the years, and I have never been disappointed by them. Other members of my family always get different beef and fish entrees, and are also never disappointed. The one time I was disappointed was when I ordered a chicken sandwich- it was dry and bland (lesson: not ordering pasta in an Italian restaurant is kind of stupid) I mentioned before that we almost always eat That's Amore as takeout- due in part to my work schedule, but also because the restaurant is almost always packed. If you are planning to go, even on a week night, allow for wait time. The few times we have eaten there, we have never encountered any problems with the service. Also, everything on the menu is very reasonably priced - it's one of the few restaurants I've been to where I have been happy to pay the charged price. I would recommend That's Amore to anyone for any occasion.

My husband and I frequent That's Amore'. We love the food. Between the two of us, we have had most everything on the menu. From prime rib to pork night Thursday, fish Fryday (see what I did there), to the general menu, we just love it here!

I've lived nearby for over a decade and had never been. 6 of us decided to go here on a Friday (I think Friday is the only day they don't take reservations) and waited about 20 minutes for a table. It's a lot bigger inside than I would have thought. We were seated in a little back room with just a handful of tables which was nice. Ordered eggplant as an app and the plate was HUGE---6 of us couldn't even plow through it. I've never had eggplant before and it was pretty darn ok...lots of parm which was tasty. Trying to remember what everyone had....a seafood risotto dish (she said it was ok) a couple of shrimp dishes (both said were good), a burger (just eh), I had the chicken parm (too thick for my liking, flavorless) and the star of the evening was the fish fry. I don't know what kind it was...I'm not a fish eater but everyone took a taste of it and RAVED! I even took a bite and I guess it was good enough but the breanding and tartar were delic! A big salad bowl (Olive Garden type) and bread were served with the dinners. Service was ok. Everyone in the group is still talking about the fish fry and asking to go back.

Awesome Prime Rib! For our rehearsal dinner, I wanted Prime Rib, there was no second choice. We had about 25 people in their party room and they exceeded our expectations. Have already recommended to friends and family!

We come here regularly, the service is fast and food is great for the price-point. Service is folksy, they treat you good, but no pampering. My wife loves the di'avolo sause I usually have linguine al marinara, there are a few other non-dairy items on the menue. (casine intolerant) The fishfry is OK, there is an all you can eat item for the teanage boys.

Such a wonderful restaurant. Great service, wonderful atmosphere and exceptional food. This has been a family favorite for close to 20 years now. My husband and I had our rehearsal dinner in the upstairs room which is a nice party area for about 50 some people. There is a nice bar down on the lower level with some more seating for dinner as well. I absolutely love That's Amore and would recommend it to anyone in the area looking for good Italian Fare.

Went there today for a business meeting with 6 others at around 2.00pm. Our server put in our order for drinks and returned with two baskets of hot garlic sticks (yum!) and a large bowl of salad. After about ten minutes she returned for our dinner order. One of our guests ordered an appetizer as an entree. When we got our bill one of our guests was charged 5 dollars and some change for the bread sticks and salad she ate even though we never ordered it, and our server just brought it with plates for everyone. Our sever also came to the table 3 times in 5 minutes for her cash (apparently she was done with her shift). She never asked us if we wanted dessert and after she removed about half of our dirty plates she disappeared into the ether. She never took the overcharge off the bill. Food was standard American-Italian but a bit better than Olive Garden. The wine selection was decent although was focused around the cheaper domestic Sonoma valley types. For 7 people (3 wine drinkers) our lunch meal came to 120.00... We were gently nudged out by a different server who stated loudly she wanted to prepare the dining room for the dinner crowd (at 4) ? We won't go again after the bait and switch...

Excellent Italian & American cuisine! I've tried Lasagna, Crabby chicken, Chicken Marsala, Fillet Mignon (with & w/o portabella mushroom sauce), Prime Rib (the best ever), & appetizers too numerous to mention. A comfortable atmosphere featuring the "Rat Pack" which has been recently refreshed, leaves you feeling welcome whether in jeans or formal wear. Reasonable prices and friendly staff. Make a reservation or be prepared to wait in the cozy lounge.

Nice place for Italian Food. Chicken Marsala and the garlic buttered noodles are the best! All entrees come with endless italian dressing salad which is great. Awesome bread sticks too! Friday Fish Fry is pretty good but the place gets packed and the service can be slow at times. Overall, prices are moderately expensive but cheap for a good Italian restaurant.

We thought the food was good. We liked the spidini and my cannoli was really good. The breadsticks were good too. The waitress was courteous, but not impressive. The wine showed up when the appetizer was almost gone, and then she spilled it. She did not offer spoons for the pasta. They do not offer espresso. She seemed relieved that they had discontinued it and told us how they had broken two machines. It was probably for the better, because she pronounced espresso as eXpresso.

We've visited That's Amore numerous times over the years, and it is consistently a fairly good restaurant, better than average, but not the best ever. A small waiting area means that it isn't a good place to go during busy times without a reservation, but once you're there, the atmosphere is cozy and pleasant, the service is good, and the food is good to very good. Unfortunately, it tends to be a bit pricier than other options, and it tends to be a little less casual than I'd prefer.

We had an amazing time here for my friend's bachelorette party dinner on Saturday night. The place was crowded but luckily we had reservations so we didn't wait long. The wait for our food was a bit longer than usual but not a big deal. We had plenty of breadsticks and salad to tide us over. Our dinners were delicious. One of my favorite meals there is the Tuscan chicken tortellini. So good! We called ahead of time to find out about your own cakes in and were told it was a $1.50 per person. We had ten people and didn't think it was a big deal. Plus our server cut the cake for us and did a great job. Our server was friendly, attentive and a lot of fun. I would definitely come back with a large group again or just a few people. Always good food here.

Went for the all you can eat fish fry. They would only give us 3 pieces of fish at a time. It about 15 minutes to get the next plate. The fish was slightly above average.

We came for the fish fry for my husband and myself and spaghetti and meatballs for my son. The fish was on, a bit over fried. Super thick beer batter. My son loves the meatballs. The marina sauce is a bit on the garlicky side. Ambience is nice! Our waiter never asked us what we wanted to drink! He brought water. He never came back to our table until the end when he offered dessert. We all need a water refill but he's off somewhere else. Very rude when I asked him for a new glass. He gets a one star.

Fantastico! Great Italian food! The breadsticks are great and the portion sizes are just right! We went at a lunch time and it was packed, but service was good and we enjoyed the meal. The patio is beautiful and when the weather is nice that's where I'd prefer to sit. This is my second visit though I live an hour away. I'll definitely go back again.

We have friends that rave about this restaurant. We dined there several years ago and didn't really care for it - so - we decided to give it another try. We actually were there twice recently - both on a Friday evening and ate on their lovely patio. Both times we had to a little wait so we went to their great bar on a lower level. The bartenders were friendly and funny. The first time we had their Friday special of baked cod. It was delicious along with the salad and breadsticks. The second Friday we decided to try something other than Friday fish special. I had the chicken parmesan. The chicken was too thick for my taste. I believe they should have prepared the chicken a little better / more. My husband had baked grouper. He loves grouper and was eager to try it. He was so disappointed - he thought the grouper was a little too heavily breaded for baked. The biggest disappointment was that the grouper had a "fishy" taste. When we paid the bill we told the waiter to let them know. We didn't hear whether he told anyone or that they were concerned. We also wrote it on the bill but I doubt that anyone saw it. We MIGHT consider going back for the Friday Night baked fish special because it is close to home and convenient; it just won't be in the too near future. However, we won't consider many of the other dishes - the last two were too disappointing.

Fantastic!!!!!! My boyfriend and I recently decided to try That's Amore. I live in the area and always see the parking lot full so we figured the food had to be good. I wish we would have come sooner!!! The salad/bread sticks are by far way better than Olive Garden. I had the mushroom ravioli which was so good. The staff was super nice and gave great suggestions. Unfortunately I am moving out of the area but we will be making the 25 minute drive back because this place was excellent!!'

Best prime rib in town. Waitress was really nice. Hostess was kind of a "B" & didn't seem to like her job. Was texting on her phone when we left & didn't even say goodnight as we walked out. (Middle aged & stuck up)

My parents can definitely be called regulars of Amore, so in turn I often meet them there for drinks and food. We usually sit in the bar area below the general seating which has a nice, more masculine ambiance with a thick wood bar and larger stools. Most of the bartenders are part of the family that owns the restaurant which is always nice. The food has always been good with large portions and a fair amount of oil/butter (hey, its Italian what do you expect?) and come with a great salad and breadsticks. They recently started serving pizza which was really good with unique toppings and fresh mozzarella. Not out of the ordinary, but if you are looking for traditional, hearty Italian fare then you found it.

This is one of those places that I don't really want to admit I patronize. In my defense....it's close to home, and there's really not much to choose from around here. The wine list is far from spectactular. The first time there, it took three tries to get the bottle of wine we actually ordered. The waitress then gave us attitude for the rest of the evening because she screwed up. I'd have to say, they have brought the wrong bottle of wine almost every time we've been here...about a dozen times. Until this past time, I have ordered the same thing each time I've been here....the Shrimp and Provolone. It's a wonderful artery-clogging dish of shrimp, mushrooms, provolone, and a lot of garlicky butter, with some sauce-sopping crostini to go with it. I'm not much for marinara, or pasta, or alfredo. I like garlic and oil, veal or seafood when I eat Italian. This is more old-school Italian-American, so there's not much on the menu that sounds appetizing to me. I recently tried the Veal Marsala, which was pretty good. The veal scallopini was a bit thin, and I prefer the sauce not sitting on as long, getting the breading soggy, but it was a nice change from my usual order. I've also had the prime rib, which was just okay. Entrees come with a bottomless salad and breadsticks. The last time there we had to send the breadsticks back because they were bricks. The decor of the place is nice. They have some great photos on the wall of Italy, and of course...the rat pack. The bar is nice, and sunken down a half level. Of course, watch out for Cousin Vinny unless you enjoy talking about him...his daughter, more him...and religion. The first time is fine...after the third time you could recite it back to him. They have a cute patio for dining in the summer. The clientele is for the most part middle-aged, middle-class. Prices are pretty cheap, or moderate.

I was enjoying a beautiful dinner with my girlfriend. We both loved the food and atmosphere. At the end of the night we noticed tons of little bugs on the table. The hostess said that it happened last night and probably came from the light. Which meant the flies were dropping down into our food? They didn't charge us for the meal. I still tipped because the waitress was awesome but won't be going back. We were there for our anniversary dinner :(

First time I've been here and I had the Chicken Carolina. AMAZING. I was suprised that they didn't carry Coke or Pepsi products, but carried something called "Black Bear Cola". Apparently it's a local brew - wasn't too bad. Definitely will eat here again.

My girlfriend and I had our worst dining experience at this restaurant. Almost everything that could go wrong did go wrong. Even though I had made a reservation well in advance, our table was not ready for a half hour. Then our table was placed next to the bathroom and was not cleaned properly. There was still food stuck to the table and nothing was set. The waitress did not introduce herself, offer the specials, or even ask us if we had been there before. We were served breadsticks with no water or salad. I had to ask for a wine list and she turned around and grabbed one off of the table next to us even though there were people seated there. She then smashed one of the wine glasses on my water glass and made excuses instead of apologizing. Our meals were good but her eggplant parm came without pasta and I was picking pieces of garlic clove out of my dish. To top it off we filled out their review card and never heard back from them.
