I stopped here after an afternoon drive to Snoqualmie, I have driven by before, but never stopped. The location next to the falls is ideal and I love the beautiful hotel. The lobby had cookies and peppermint hot chocolate for guests. Amazing next to a large fireplace. The attic food was a good size, we split the sourdough grilled cheese and the meatballs. They were both good and we were happy, but the meatballs were a bit overpriced for the five you get. Mostly I was disappointed to see that most food is cooked in a foil plate then transferred to a cast iron presentation dish. No change on quality, but takes some of the mystique away.

Cozy and a great place to grab a burger or sandwich after your spa treatment. Prices are very reasonable (compared to downstairs) and the food is tasty. I was there to grab a quite bite during my last stay at the lodge, and saw 2 proposals in a 30 min span. It's quite the thing to do there... The Attic is quite a chill place for a group and they don't have a problem pushing tables together for larger groups. Seating is tight when they get busy, but still comfortable. Get the Salumi, if you don't know what it is, just order it, sit back and enjoy!!

Food is ok and service is abit slow. Location seems has played a big part of their pricing. Don't think we will drive there to eat if just for the food.

So very, very sad to have to write a poor review for the Salish. I had a beautiful suprise birthday spa day with a private champagne brunch in the Falls Terrace room here with a group of friends a few years ago. Loved it! We went to The Attic on Christmas Day night after skiing. Pulling up and walking in to The Salish is truly a treat - holiday decor was awesome! We got a great table by the window from which to gaze at the falls. (thus the 2 stars) Our server was gracious and on top of it, but the food was an UNBELIEVABLE let down. Salmon Sandwich: flavorless and DRY. I mean DRY. I asked for additional whatever-the-spread to try to add something to it. It's delivered and I see why-the-dry...it's a ramekin with Italian parsley and capers, not sure what was supposed to be moistening them up, but it was missing. Awful. The artisan style chips served with were so salty = tongue burning. It had to be a mistake on the salt quantity. Inedible. His Muffulata was not a "muffulata". It was a pressed Italian meat and cheese. Period. Served with a side of sweet, boring giardiniera. His chips were called bbq, but were just dusted heavily with chili powder (which needs to be blended with some sort of fat to lose its cardboard taste, in my opinion). Blech - inedible. Our salads were fine - my caesar average his spinach pretty tasty. Based on our previous courses we opted out of dessert - which was a bummer for a Christmas supper. We didn't speak up, and we waited until the trip home to compare notes, as we decided to enjoy each other's company on Christmas rather than grumble about the let-down of our holiday supper. But to be sure, it was a HUGE disappointment. I was embarrassed that I brought my guest here! This bums me out as I'm in Seattle regularly to visit my family and we come here somewhat regularly :(. Not sure we'll do that anymore.

The Attic Sunday Lunch was excellent. Salmon sliders and chicken soup after a chilly viewing of the Falls. Our server was charming and told us he's been watching a certain log at the top of the Falls for a year to see if it would go over the edge. The Attic was seat yourselves... but we checked in with a server to see if someone was waiting for the next available window seating. Then we snagged a window seat just as another couple was leaving... we had to be a little pushy but the view was worth it. The crackling fire added to the Attic's cozy atmosphere.

Would have preferred the Dining Room downstairs but it was already closed for our late post-spa lunch. I thought The Attic in atmosphere was a-ok but somehow either the loud conversations around us or the lack of bigger windows detracted from the space being "special". Our server was attentive, and our food tasty but over-priced - my husband's tuna salad sandwich with some chips was $17 (how much does a can of tuna cost?) The menu had some good healthy options which I liked, but lacked some things that seem like they should be on every menu - no juicy burgers at all. I've been in The Attic in the evening and it had a nicer, cozier vibe - didn't really enjoy it in the afternoon. Next time we'll go back to The Dining Room... or go elsewhere if it's closed.

My family and I stayed at the lodge for a few days while we were waiting to move into our new home on top of the ridge and tried both of the restaurants here. As for the hotel - please look at my review there. We enjoyed it but this review is focused on The Attic. First off the décor is very nice and if you are lucky you can get a seat by the window with a nice view of the falls. The staff was pretty attentive however of the two times I was here there were times we spend 10 minutes looking for the waitress. Once was for food and the second was just for a beer or two before turning in for the day. The food looks fantastic however sadly the appearance doesn't live up to what you put in your mouth. Not that the food was bad - it wasn't it just wasn't very good. On a 5 point scale I'd give it a three max. This isn't a place I'd come for the food. Now if you want to pop in with a few friends for drinks then this is a good place. Would I go back - not for the food.

I've been to expensive restaurants and pricey food, but this is way overpriced. We walked into the Attic around 1:30pm on a Saturday and the place was still quite lively. Not quite the nice relaxation area I expected, but then again it's a bar area. When we walked in, there was no sign nor waiter to indicate whether we should find a place to sit ourselves or wait to be seated. We stood there for a while looking around, then decided to just seat ourselves. Since I wasn't too hungry, I just ordered a small salad. Holy smokes was there gold foil or pearl powder in my salad or something? A tiny plate of greens with some cooked apple and goat cheese ending up costing me $10??? I can sort of understand why a cocktail would cost $10 at a place like this, but really? A simple plate of salad??? It wasn't even the best-tasting salad I've had! Good thing they accept the prime card over here, but I doubt I'll be back again.

Make no mistake. If you come here, you're paying for the view. Not the food, nor the service. You're paying a premium to eat average pub grub and overpriced drinks and enjoy a spectacular view (but only if you have one of the few window tables). We were too early for the dinner service (they wouldn't start until 5pm, and we were there at 4), so we thought we'd give the 'Attic' lounge a try. I refuse to call this a bistro; this is an insult to bistros everywhere. The menu is very limited, and restricted to moderately upscale 'pub grub' at eye-popping prices. Preparation is competent, and that's the best I can say. I wouldn't call the kitchen staff 'chefs', more like 'assemblers'. My 'special' was a fairly generic pasta alfredo with prawns, squash and zucchini. Nothing special; something you'd get at Applebee's for half the price. Service was all over the map. The initial order was rushed, my wife's teacup was FILTHY (note to server: you carried this empty glass teacup through the whole dining room on a sunny day, and you didn't notice how filthy it was until it was brought to your attention? REALLY?), and half our dessert order arrived, and the other half got stuck in the twilight zone somewhere. After about a 45 minute wait and one inquiry, it finally showed up just as we were about ready to bolt. C'mon guys, the room was only 20% full; I'd hate to see what service deteriorates to during a rush! At a lower price point, I'd give this experience two or even three stars. But given Salish Lodge's high end reputation (and prices) this is inexcusable. Only a clueless tourist, expense account diner, or unsophisticated suburban bumpkin could dine here and be satisfied ('Oooh, look honey; they have something called 'bisque' on the menu; this must be a fancy place!). Salish Lodge, I hear your restaurant is great. Why do you make The Attic a place to punish people who, for one reason or another, couldn't get into your dining room? We can afford the prices, believe me; it's just when I'm paying $100 for two uninspired entrees, one shared dessert (your salted caramel butterscotch pudding. Pudding? Really? In this place, at these prices, that pudding had better be like sex in my mouth. Serving something so mundane-sounding was such a gutsy move, I had to see what you were going to do with it. What I got was little better than what Bill Cosby pitches for Jello. Hint: topping a pudding with a little whipped cream and balancing a biscotti on the rim of the ramekin may impress the punters, but your not fooling anyone else but maybe yourself. I'm just being honest.), one NW microbrew, and two glasses of a thoroughly workaday Viognier, I'm starting to feel a bit abused. Please tell me: I should come back WHY? Seriously, I do not enjoy giving 1-star reviews. I don't do it often, and only after careful thought. One sure-fire way to get a '1-star' spanking from me is to not perform anywhere near your potential, meet the expectations your prices create. The real tragedy here is that I don't think this review will make any difference in the world. From my experience at The Attic, I get the impression Salish Lodge honestly doesn't give a shit if you come back or not. They got your money the first time around, and there will be an endless supply of tourists and other assorted punters to replace you when you don't come back. When you're not worried about repeat business, you have no motivation to improve, my only hope is that the more savvy foodie will heed this warning and steer clear. My advice: pack a picnic and enjoy the view, then go back to Issaquah for a decent dinner. UPDATE (4/23/12): I received a very nice letter from the Director of Food and Beverage services at the Salish Lodge. I was left with the impression that he was very sincere, and cares deeply about providing all diners with a superior and memorable dining experience. I am left with the impression that they are going to look into the concerns I raised, and will address them as necessary. He even offered me a gift certificate, which I declined. I feel one shouldn't accept things like this, as it could affect the integrity and credibility of the reviewer and the review. The fact he was willing to do so does say a lot. I will probably visit again in the future, but on my own nickel. If they have improved, I'll say so. If not, well, I'll say so as well. Whether they are serious about improving The Attic's act remains to be seen. The fact that most of the other recent reviews are similarly poor suggests that my experience is not an 'outlier' here, and that The Attic may need more than to merely have my comments "incorporated into our continuous training" (their words) - assuming that they're serious, and simply not in the practice of giving out gift certificates to assuage disappointed diners. Bottom line: The Attic may need a serious overhaul, but is the Management serious about addressing the issue? Time will tell.

While staying at the lodge my wife and I had dinner and lunch up in The Attic Bistro. During the dinner on Friday night they had live music which was nice. The food was very, very good. The french fries are made from Yukon Gold potatoes are amazing. Also, the corned beef on the reuben sandwich was the best I've ever had. I don't think it's worth driving out here just for a meal, but if you find yourself in Snoqualimie or staying at the Salish I would recommend stoping in here for a meal.

Just a note that the reservation button on the Yelp page for the Attic will actually make a reservation for The Dining Room, not The Attic. The Attic only takes walk-ins on a first come, first serve basis. Anyway, on a Saturday afternoon, my husband and I came here for a late lunch around 2 pm. I had been here before and what should have been a 30 minute lunch turned into a 2.5 hour ordeal because they were so understaffed. This time around, the service was better but still extremely slow. The server was friendly and brought out everything as it was available but it appeared that there was a hold up in the kitchen. The atmosphere is cozy - there's a fireplace, a TV, a bar area, and fun little couches that have tables that you can cozy up with your significant other/close friend. There are about 4 really good tables in the restaurant which fantastic views and the rest are just so-so. People are vicious trying to get these tables...as soon as one becomes available, people will jump up out of their current seats to run over and take it. The food here was pretty good - my husband had the burger and fries and I had the pasta with pea cream sauce, spring veggies, cheese, and chicken. My husband's fries were fantastic, crispy, salty, perfection. The burger was average - just so-so. My pasta was good but very filling. It got a little boring after a while. It was an odd combination - it had peas, corn, zucchini, among other veggies. The grilled chicken was really good though. All in all, the meal came to around $45 for 2 entrees and 2 lemonades. Make sure you're not in a rush if you come here because it will take a while to get your food.

The Attic Bistro is kind of like the more casual, cheaper alternative to the Salish Lodge's lower level restaurant. . Sit by the window to get a nice view overlooking the waterfall, but the location of the lodge - adjacent the waterfall itself - makes it very hard to enjoy the water the way most people want to. It's still a nice atmosphere and I really enjoy the beauty of the forest in addition to the falls. The food is good and on weekends they have live music. The service is okay, but nothing special. I will be back! I hope they still have their garlic fries!

Wow! Could this place be any better? You are literally in the attic of the lodge. And you must be clever to find it, as it is hard to find!

Those not wishing to splurge on the dining room can head upstairs to the Attic for lighter fare and strong drinks. While our food orders were restricted to another, slightly less ostentatious cheese plate, our drink tab was appropriately hefty for vacationers. Sample the Manhattan and the Bloody Mary; Salish infuses spirits in-house; my party can attest that both the infused Maker's and Vodka are well worth your time. For those with an eye toward the traditional cocktails, rest assured the mixers are of high quality.

People will probably keep coming here no matter what is said, and perhaps they should, the view is gorgeous and I hear very nice things about the hotel. I assume the downstairs restaurant has the same quality of food, in which case, I would avoid it. Basically the food is not cooked very well and the menu itself is not inspiring. I can deal with oily salmon chowder with carrots in it or an over-dressed beet salad with very finely shaved beets and yellowed arugula. What I cannot handle is rednecks. I know that is very rude to say but so is being a redneck. Maybe the Attic is where they try to train the redneck out. Once it is gone, maybe you get to work in the downstairs restaurant or in the hotel? Basically, a number of service offenses but when I asked the older she-server if we were limited to the Happy Hour menu (as it was 3pm) because I really wanted something NOT on the shorter menu, she rudely replied, "Well, that menu goes Monday through Thursday and seeing as today is FRIDAY, no you don't get the happy hour prices." And I was like, "whoa!" Total rednecks and mediocre food but they do decorate in a fabulous way for the holiday.

Just absolutely amazing. We were fortunate to have tables right on the windows overlooking the falls. Great view. The salad with the creamy tarragon dressing was perfect and very tasty. The sandwich which was sliced grilled pears, grilled tomatoes, pesto, goat cheese on panini was AMAZING. Really recommend this. Drinks were good. Service was spot on and friendly.

We recently dined at the Attic at Salish Lodge. Loved the Smoked Salmon Chowder and the Flat Bread with Roasted Sweet Peppers, Chèvre, Parsley, & Pine Nuts. We had a Salad and asked them to add Salmon to it, which they did. The salmon was tasty but several minutes overcooked, so a little too firm. They really need to pay attention to their cooking times. The salad we had was Mixed Organic Baby Heads, Whipped Goat Cheese, Salish Honey Roasted Apples, with Cider Dressing. The combination of these flavors for the salad went very well together. Service was great and very friendly. Next time we go, if they get the salmon right, I will upgrade my star level to 4.

Surprise! The Attic at Salish has *totally* been revamped! Not only the decor, but the entire atmosphere and the menu. We "broke up" with Salish after they were bought by a local tribe (service and experience degraded badly), but on a whim we came back after a 8 month absence on our way out of town. The Attic - at 10:00 on a Friday night - was FABULOUS. Both service and food were outstanding and love love love the new ambiance. Try the meatballs (secret ingredient in the sauce = Harissa) and the beet salad -- -- YUM!!.

This place is less crowded and can often accommodate you if downstairs is busy. The food is more than acceptable but not earth shattering. The place feels cozy but there isn't much view from the second room (except some trees). Maybe the first room you walk into has a little better view. The prices are higher than other places in town that are not next to the falls.

Service was friendly, yet inept. The food was hit and miss; mostly miss. The live music was enjoyable but the lighting was way too bright for comfort. The Salmon Chowder was very tasty and buttery but our bowl had obviously been sitting under the warming lamp for too long. It had a thick film/crust on it when served. The lime wedge served in the cosmo was nice and fresh, but when asked for an extra wedges we were brought old, brown, dried out wedges that had clearly been sitting for days in a refrigerator. The green salad had a nice vinaigrette and the poached pears were a nice touch, but there were too many slimy, wilted bits of lettuce. The Rueben was forgettable and the bread was old and stale. It was served with a pickle wedge that was dried out like it had been sitting uncovered in the refrigerator for day or maybe under the warming lamp for too long. It also came with home fried potato chips. The crispy chips were good, but there were too many under cooked soggy ones. The lights were intensely bright. It was like you were eating in a display room. Part way through our meal someone noticed and turned them down; even turned down a bit the atmosphere was more reminiscent of a corporate cafeteria than a cozy bar.

The service was great and the food was ok, but main reason for coming here is definitely for the view. It's one floor above the main Dining room, so it's got an amazing view of Snoqualmie falls. It's definitely a nice place to stay warm and sip hot chocolate.

I wish I could give this place zero. We decided to have some coffee and desserts. Place looked nice and at the entrance was written that kids are welcome. After we had entered the cafe nobody was happy to see us there. No greeting, no smile. Waitress told us that we could choose any table. Ok. We took a sit and started to wait. We also needed a highchair and my husband asked the waitress for that. But she let us know that she was very busy. She was very rude, no eye contact, no even a slight smile. She looked down on us. I didn't want to stay there any longer. So we decided to left and we don't regret. There are many decent places where we can drink coffee.

The Attic Bistro is kind of like the more casual, cheaper alternative to the Salish Lodge's lower level restaurant. I had the soup and salad (Tomato Bisque and Caesar Salad) and both were quite good. We sat by the window to get a nice view overlooking the waterfall, but the location of the lodge - adjacent the waterfall itself - makes it impossible to see the beauty of the waterfall very well. What's really annoying about this isn't that you can't see the waterfall though. What's annoying is that the obstruction from seeing the waterfall from our table was the roofing over the extension of the lodge. But the food was good, and the staff nice. A quiet, comfortable little bistro overlooking the woods with good (if slightly pricey) food? Not bad. Definitely plan on stopping here for a bite if you're a little hungry and happen to be checking out the beautiful Snoqualmie Falls. PS at the moment the otherwise picturesque view of the falls is a little less spectacular because there are cranes doing... Something (presumably construction) over the falls. Just an FYI.

I've been to the attic twice this year (2010). On the plus side, the location is very nice (right next to the incomparable Snoqualmie Falls). The food and drinks at the attic are good, but it's disappointing overall. It needs just a few tweaks to make it worthwhile - faster service, and music that doesn't make you want to jump out the window over Snoqualmie Falls. #1 Visit (Spring 2010): On the first visit it was pretty busy, but we found a nice spot on a loveseat in the corner. It took the waitress 30 minutes to get to us, all the time we had to look at dirty dishes on our table. We had to get up and get our own water while we waited. We weren't in a rush, but I've never waited an hour and 20 minutes to get 2 coffees, a bowl of soup and a salad (that's a total of almost 2 hours from the time we sat down!). And when the soup came out it was stone cold. It was sent back and 25! minutes later it came back, cold again. We ate it anyway as we were starving. The waitress apologized (saying they were understaffed that day) and took some of our items off the bill. #2 Visit (8/15/10): Good cappucino and better service this time. Cons: No A/C (it was a rare 95 degrees yesterday) made for a stuffy attic and the music they were playing, let's call it "acid-trip jazz" - with machine gun drum solos, was totally out of place withe the ambience and made us almost get up and leave before we sat down. Overall, not a bad place, but it could be made alot more "homey" and cozy with better music, more intimate lighting and more attentive service.

The attic was just recently rennovated and looks terrific. They have a new pizza oven and it pops out some great fresh tasting pizzas. However, prices are still really high. We went for happy hour and got 1 beer, 1 cheese pizza and 2 small ceasers and it came to $30. Definitley wasn' t happy hour prices. But the atmosphere was great, the server was attentive and i'd recommend it its in your budget.

Came here with a friend that had been here before. The happy hour here is fantastic! Still a bit pricey but it IS in the Salish Lodge so it sort of comes with the territory. Had the honey ale, it was delicious! They also have white and red wine in addition to the beers on their hh menu. The grilled cheese sandwich on the hh menu was the most delicious one I have ever had in my entire life. It came with tomato soup and house-made potato chips. The bread on the sandwich was crusty and dense and buttery. The cheese tasted like asiago and it was so flavorful and yummy. The tomato soup had the perfect tangyness to balance out the richness of the sandwich. NOMZ. I mean, for real, the flavors were just dancing in my mouth. Also tried the Campanella salad which was very fresh and delicious! The apricot was a lovely touch and had just the right amount of pickling. Would definitely come back again! That view of Snoqualmie Falls is breathtaking!

I wanted to do something special to celebrate a friend's birthday. A mutual friend of ours suggested that we go to The Attic and since we all were Twin Peaks geeks, we figured why not hit up the Great Northern er... the Salish Lodge for some gorgeous views and tasty treats. The drive from Seattle was an easy one, straight down I-90 with a sign indicating your exit. Despite being in between the traditional service times, the place was packed. Thankfully we didn't wait long for a seat, maybe 15-20 minutes. We snagged a comfy spot in the bar where we ordered drinks that followed us to our table with a view. My first drink was The Halo made with Salish Lodge honey-flavoured vodka, Brut, and Chambord. I could have easily polished off several of those but I opted to try something else for my second drink. I was glad that I did, settling on the Cranberry Cobbler made with Stoli Cranberi, cranberry sweet and sour, and Triple Sec. Both drinks were made with high quality components and were lovely overall. Among the three of us, we ordered a couple of items to share. A warm baguette with Salish Lodge honey butter and olive oil, plus their artisan cheese selection with Salish Lodge honey-poached figs, hazelnuts, and olive oil crostini. For my main, I picked the grilled chicken with arugula and tomato. The sandwich came with house made chips which were crisp without being over-salted. One friend ordered the Beecher's grilled cheese sandwich with housemade tomato soup and my other friend chose the house-smoked pork ribs in a Salish Lodge honey and fig BBQ sauce. We never felt rushed which was nice. I think we spent a couple hours there, drinking, talking, and enjoying that gorgeous Snoqualmie Falls view. When it was nearing our time to ask for the cheque, our server brought a birthday crème brûlée with Salish honey and vanilla bean. The dessert even had a little candle too. Note about accessibility: there is a short flight of stairs to get to The Attic. If you cannot do stairs, there is an elevator at the other end of the hotel. I didn't want to traverse the property so I opted to walk upstairs slowly. It's nice to know there was another option however. You can also walk around the property to get an AMAZING view of the Falls. I highly recommend saving some time to do that. All in all, I would definitely return here. Although they were down one server, we didn't feel neglected and in fact, the servers who did check in one us were very nice and patient. Valet parking was complimentary with our meal at the hotel so remember to tip those guys who work hard.

Awesome spot to sit above the falls and have lunch and/or a drink. Had the grilled cheese and tomato bisque. Sandwich with Beechers cheese was darn good, soup was ok. Would try the chicken club next time. Awesome service and view.

I was really quite pleased with this experience and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quick, but good bite to eat with an incredible view. SETTING: The attic is set a top a flight of stairs in the space above the main dining room, for which Salish is known for. The main draw is clearly the view, which allows you a fantastic perspective of the 268 ft Snoqualmie falls below as you dine. The room itself is nice, and leverages the rustic surrounds with a nice stone bar and a wood-fired oven for pizzas that is off to the side in the dining room. We came just minutes after it opened for the day (we were probably the first patrons of the day), and got to select our seat next to the window...obviously the prime real estate SERVICE: Since we came just after 11 am when the place was opening up, we seated ourselves. A courteous waitress came out quickly to greet us and take our order. Our salad was out practically instantly, and the rest of the food took not much longer. FOOD: Their menu features casual dishes: sandwiches, pizzas, salads and soups. We ordered the seafood chowder, kale and apple salad, and vegetable pizza. The seafood chowder is cream based, served without bacon (yipee!) and with of course, a variety of seafood. The salad was simple, consisting of shredded kale, Washington apple slices, goat cheese, and candied pecans--the latter of which was a nice touch :) The wood-fired pizza was about 10 inches in diameter (perfect for two to split), no marina base, but with truffle creme fraiche, in addition to vegetables like asparagus and artichokes. The crust was awesome too--basically we polished off all the food. Final verdict: Definitely something to check out if you find yourself in the area. Not as formal as the main dining room below, but one of the lodge staff told us that the view is actually better (makes sense, because The Attic is higher). Definitely something I'll have to return to next time I'm in town!

We dined as a party of 6 with kids age 4 and 6 on Sunday for lunch. Almost as soon as we were seated the kids were invited to make their own pizzas at the nearby counter. Adults ordered salads and sandwiches which were all quite good. What was really impressive was the highly professional staff. We had one accident with a broken wine glass, and not only was the proken glass replaced and the mess cleaned up, but nearby glasses we removed and replaced immediately! We will return the next time we bring visitors to the falls!

Worse service ever! When you are paying this caliber of fare it's fair to expect good service and The Attic was beyond disappointing with service and food. I chose this venue to celebrate my birthday and after the experience at the attic my family refused to fulfill our dinner reservation... Disappointing.... Lori

The food was decent. And we had a window view. The service was quite poor. The server plunked down our drinks and splashed them on the table and left the table all wet. Eventually I got a refill of my soda but it came back with no straw. The hard part is she'd walk off quickly and not really check in with us. So when there were issues she was off doing something else. She was attentive when we were paying though.

The view is incredible by the windows, looking down on Snoqualmie Falls. The food was very good. I think it was a little pricey for the amount provided, but the quality was great. My father and I shared the prawns and clams. I ordered the ribs, and he ordered the meatballs. The prawns were nice and meaty, and they were seasoned perfectly. The sauce for the clams was so good that I wanted to eat it as a soup! The ribs were cooked to perfection... falling off the bone. They were kind of small, though. That's my only complaint. The fig-honey bbq sauce was delicious. My father said the sauce on his meatballs could have used more spices, and the meatballs themselves could have used a little more salt. However, he did like them, overall. It's a nice atmosphere, and the service is pretty good. I took away a star for being overpriced, but then I added it back for the really nice views.

Quiet dinner here despite the constant low hum of the crowd. Short menu - tried the Beecher's Cheddar Cheese Melt and the Smoked Chicken Club. Cheddar Cheese comes with tomato bisque soup and house chips, sub the salad with the club. #Lickingtheplate of soup and chips, Chicken Club a delicious spicy delight! Will definitely be back for more. Always warm memories of this place

The wife and came to the log for a one night getaway.. We had drinks and apps. first and had awesome customer service. The little tiny hostess gal was awesome. The place was packed and only seating at the grill was open, as soon as a table opened she remembered us and asked if we wanted to move.. We did want to move so this was perfect. We went back later for more food and drinks and again where treated great by the wait staff. They have a guy who's sings and does a good job. I would gladly come back to the attic...

Came here for an early Valentine's Day lunch. We were able to nab a window seat but did not have a view of the falls. We enjoyed the baguette for an appetizer and a wood fired pizza and the meatloaf sandwich for our mains. We wrapped up with a cherry pie and the brownie. The service and food were excellent. We are planning to come back and also enjoy spa services at the lodge.

Eric and Matt are the best. This place is wonderful and has it all! World class food, spa and service. Treat yourself to the best. I can't wait to come back.

The restaurant was cute and the food was decent. We got the fig pizza and the fennel sausage pizza which were pretty good and pretty big. We also got the shaved Parmesan and fig appetizer and the baby greens salad which were both good as well. The 3 stars is for the service which was below average. Our waitress was not very friendly and it took her a while to take our order and she never came to check on us. The food took a long time to come out and it came out at separate times. If we weren't friendly and sharing food one person from our group would have been waiting at least 30 min longer for their food.

The view is exceptional if you get one of the six or so view tables. Otherwise the setting is nicely rustic but not exceptional. So shocked by the $12 price of a petite and mediocre kale salad that was served without apologies or appropriate embarrassment that the potential for an enjoyable experience was diminished. At a comparable restaurant the salad would typically be priced at $6. This was consistent with my other experiences in the spa, for the hotel room, for the dinner in the dining room, for room service and extras that were priced on par for a world class five star hotel which this nicely rustic better-than-average building in a special setting is not. In summary, over $900 for less than one day and for two people was pricey -- especially for what was not exceptional. And to top it off the shower didn't work. We travel internationally a number of times a year and wanted to give a local venue that I had enjoyed in my youth a try. Darn. I wish for you a better experience.

Would give this place 5 stars if the food had been a little more worth the money. The hostess was amazing! She was friendly personable and quick to seat us on a Saturday afternoon for an early dinner. It was a beautiful day and the falls were packed with people viewing them so we were worried it might be packed. We received water right away and told our server would be on the way- he came less then 30 seconds later. Drinks were good! Pricey but strong and tasty. 12 for a tiny salad was a lot... It was a great salad! Just very small.. My boyfriend had the chicken pot pie that was slightly overpriced but was exceptional so it made it worth it. I got the BBQ chicken flat bread... It was good.. I wish I had something different since that meal isn't something I'd go back for. Another reason for the 4 stars- we were seated near the grill area and could hear all the complaints from a couple servers that was extremely unprofessional. Overall great experience and would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice view and good drinks!

Lovely setting, live music, amazing atmosphere. Comfortable chairs and couches. Not to much of a food choice, but the pizza we got was delicious. we got the pear and fig pizza and switched out the blue cheese for the goat cheese instead, and added tomatoes. It was heavenly. Just the right amount of everything. The live Music wasn't to loud so our group of friends were able to hold a good long conversation. Which is a huge plus. Their lattes are amazing too. They use Starbucks coffee beans, but it tastes so much better than Starbucks! We are definitely coming back here for a late night hang out and a good conversation with our friends :).

The view is nice if you happen to get a table by the window but the food was only so so. Had the crab and shrimp salad sandwich and salmon chowder. Nothing notable. Did not like the homemade chips. Service was good.

The attic has a fantastic view. Sitting next to the window with the view of the falls makes the entire meal perfect. We went for happy hour. The prices in the attic are much more reasonable compared to the Dining Room, but the experience just as great. Because of spendy menu, we can only go on extra special occasions. The food was excellent. We had the homemade chips, and the dip made it even better. I had a slider and was not let down. Then to top it all of a brownie with coffee. Talk about delicious! The waiter was attentive and pleasant. They were out of the beer with their own Salish honey, but we went downstairs to the gift shop and they gave us a discount on the same beer they had in stock. The complimentary valet was the icing on the cake.

I've read through the other reviews and it seems the attic has had issues in the past. Well, they clearly are making an effort to improve upon their service. Even though they were absolutely swamped, they made us feel welcome and special. We really wanted a window seat so that we could enjoy the absolutely stunning view. The host made us our own private dining space right up against the windows overlooking the falls and valley below. We ordered the portobello sandwich and the fig and goat cheese pizza. Both were amazing! The wine was great an the waiter kept it flowing as needed. We really had an enjoyable experience and I'm looking forward to returning.

Can it get batter than this? I think you'd have a hard time finding a spot more scenic for miles around. I've come to the Attic a few times with both big groups and small and its always a great place to host people from out of town, take someone on a date, or just sit and relax. I prefer to come during the day because the view of the falls below is breathtaking. Look for a seat near the window and you'll be totally captivated. You know how your boyfriend's eye wanders to the TV screen when you're at dinner sometimes? Now you'll both be looking off into the the distance, staring at the gorgeous views instead! Whether it's tea time, a stop in for dessert, or even dinner and beer, the service is always extremely friendly and quick. Buzzing around the room like a pro, our server must have visited our table every 5-10 mins. Refilling waters, answering menu questions, etc. Just awesome! On my most recent trip I wanted to try the new wood fired pizzas and loved the prosciutto and fig. The pizza was so large I ended up taking more than half of it home! I also love all of the honey bees printed on the menu. Various items are sweetened with honey instead of sugar, and the bee represents the honey that's actually made right onsite by the bees they keep on the property grounds. So cool! I tried a special honey beer and absolutely loved it. Next time I come here it's not just to eat and stare out the window... I think I'm going to have to spend the night. It's just too pretty to come here for only an hour or two.

My wife and I ate here for dinner on our first night at the Salish Lodge. I think we made a good choice by eating here instead of downstairs, especially since we had breakfast reservations the next day and didn't want to spend too much money. We ended up getting a pizza and some appetizers, the parmesan cheese dish and their baguette bread. I also went with their local honey ale beer. I really enjoyed all the food we ordered and the beer was real good too. The cheese dish was a little expensive, you get shaved cheese, pistachio nuts, and figs with some crackers. It was my least favorite of the night but the pizza was tasty and the bread was great with their honey butter. We received good service, the waitress made sure we where taken care of and checked on us periodically. She even gave us more honey butter which was a nice touch. Unfortunately we did not get to see the view that is famous here but I don't really have any complaints about my experience. I would eat here again if I am checking out the falls and have some time to grab a bite to eat.

The attic has elegant rustic decor and casual intimate seating. They have a real wood fired pizza oven. We ordered a salad, pizza, dessert and drinks. The service was as good or even better than the dining room. Our waiter seemed to read our minds due to some careful observation skill. The pizza was cooked just right, crispy but no burnt with fresh pineapples on the Hawaian pizza. Drinks were good the honey cider and the honey beer. I thought the drinks including cocktails and coffee were a bit expensive. Most cocktails were $16-$17. Coffee $4. They have a limited desert menu with only two items. Both were delicious. The Creme Brulee tasted very good, but a little on the runny side. Baked Brownie was also good. We will be back to try other things on the menu.

We ate dinner here tonight. The service was decent and the ambiance was mellow. We expected a better flavor profile from their menu given the fact it's connected to a high end spa. They charge high prices for the food and it's not worth it. The food was flat and tasted like I was eating food made in an Aramark cafeteria, boring and mass produced. There was nothing unique about this overpriced experience. If you stick to the drink menu and skip the food you will be set.

In hindsight, a classy operation would have quietly returned to the table with proof that the first charge was incomplete. If they presented us with a tab, the charge had definitely gone through. We had our receipts. That's how they were able to double charge my guest. Lying about it? Unacceptable. The manager wrote a response, but it again glosses over just how low class this experience was. I felt like they just didn't want my business on several counts, from waiting over 20 minutes to get a menu and order a drink while waiting for my friend to arrive, to being asked several times if we wanted dessert, to being told several times not to rush that we should take our time (hint: they wanted us to leave), to being accosted about a paid tab on my exit. It's all inexcusable amateurish behavior in what used to be a 4 or 5 star hideaway. Because the charges made to my friends card have been voided, I'll just leave this to "I'm not going back". There isn't much more he could do. Many other better options around the Puget Sound area. Go see the falls. Hike about the area, then dine somewhere else.

My fiancé and I really enjoyed our last visit on a Saturday night in January, and decided to return on a Thursday in late May. The Attic was mostly empty, aside from a screaming toddler in the next room, so one would expect impeccable service. Not so. Our waitress failed to provide much service at all, which led to a prolonged dining experience. On top of that, she did not give us the happy hour prices on the bill--we paid extra attention to the itemization after watching the same thing occur to at the table next to ours!!! ***happy hour patrons BEWARE!!!*** Now on to the food...appetizers were decent ... for happy hour price. Caesar salad was bland but fine for $6; however, the beets were tasteless... At our previous visit we thoroughly enjoyed the pear/fig/prosciutto pizza---this time I found the pizza oozing in fig (newton?) paste!!! Further more, the taste was bland and for the first time in my life I found myself putting salt on pizza (the salt of course took quite awhile to arrive). Why not a 1star review you ask?? The view.

I love the location of this place. It's right over Snoqualmie falls and the view is awesome. I guess that's also why it's so expensive. I wish however that the food justified the price. The roasted mushrooms were just sweet and greasy and not something I'd want to eat more than 2 bites of. The baguette was burnt and not sliced properly so we had to tear it apart and make a mess. The glasses used to serve the juice and sparkling cider are tiny. That being said, the real highlight was the plain cheese wood fire oven pizza. It was really superb and definitely recommended. Again it was pricey but at least seemed worth it. I wish they made all the other things taste as good.

It's always much more fun to write a mediocre review about a place than a good one. I'd stayed one night at Salish Lodge and this was our dinner option. The Attic was recently renovated (though the music, which varies from Motown to Downtown to nowhere you'd like to be, revealed the way the lounge used to be). Key word in dining here - FLAT BREAD. The place puts flat bread in everything but its coffee - they even use flat bread with their Charcuterie, which is weird. My date and I only had the Charcuterie plate and three glasses of wine. Our wine selection was good, but the Charcuterie had very mediocre/bad selection of cheese, cold cuts, which don't justify the $18.00 price tag. The FLAT BREAD pizza selection looked good, but we didn't try. A disappointment. The decor and ambiance aren't bad, but the food and service (we were waited on by a very nice young lady, who reminded me something out of the movie "Fargo", in terms of accent and attitude - the accent is quite contagious, BTW) - were below par, especially when compared to the lodge's Dining Room.

What a cute attic! Window seats for the view. Corner seats in the crevices for a more romantic, cozy feel. Those get snatched up quickly so the boyfriend and I had to settle for a mediocre in-between. But no complaints as first come, first serve is fair to me. We weren't planning on going here but we stopped by for a snack while waiting on our room to get ready for check-in. My boyfriend and I got spiked alcoholic coffee and hot chocolate. I loved the romantic atmosphere of sipping drinks in this cute space. :)

Mt husband and I stayed at the Salish lodge for our anniversary. At the suggestion of one who will remain nameless, we went to the attic and requested to speak with one of the cooks to request a specialty pizza. Cameron came to our table and we asked him to create a pizza for us. We let him know what flavors we liked and didn't like and he made us a pizza he called the Kevin Bacon. It was amazing! Grilled chicken, bacon (obviously) roasted garlic, caramelized onions, and red chili peppers. Fabulous! I will recommend this place and encourage people to let the chefs get creative! Go off menu, and ask for Cameron!

Reading other reviews, I can say I agree.....yes, it's a beautiful location and everyone WISHES it was better, but its just not that good. :-/ My husband and I stopped in for a cup of coffee and a light lunch on a Sunday . It was busy, but not PACKED busy..I think the staff is just not well trained .after being seated it took a long time for anyone to acknowledge us. She brought our coffee, but no sugar ( even tho I had asked for Splenda when I ordered..) . The food took a long time to come and it wasn't very good. My husband had steamed clams, when I tasted the broth I almost gagged as it tasted like sewer water.....I had an appetizer plate with figs, pistachios, cheese and crackers. The presentation was pretty but tasted quite ordinary. Like dried fruit out of a bag.....and WAY too much cheese to finish... Our waters/ coffees were not refilled in a timely manner and when I did ask for a refill the waitress took our mugs away ,poured coffee on top of the old coffee and brought it back all cloudy and gross looking...I thought she should have either filled them AT the table, or brought FRESH cups? When we were finished it took forever to get our bill, even though we were sitting there staring at every waitress, hostess, and manager that walked by! Ugh.......

I had a fantastic overall experience at the Salish Lodge. My girlfriend and I decided to go to the Attic for a few drinks and maybe a bite to eat for a late dinner. We sat at the bar and had some fantastic mixed drinks, prepared by the bartender Silas. My girlfriend really enjoyed the Beesknees, and my favorite was the Old Fashioned. Silas also recommended a few house cocktails that were a hit as well, along with some of the best pizza I've had in months. Highly recommend the Attic for a personal experience at a high class lodge.

Tasty.......mmmmm I could come back here and just melt in the attic....with the delicious tastings from their menu :-) Get a window seat, order tons of appetizers, oh make sure you get the steak skewers and calamari, but keep in mind they're designed for 1 and a ahalf people, so dont get too greedy and eat it all if you're sharing! Chris was our waiter, so nice and helpful! We'll definitely be back to wallow and swallow the whole deliciousness of this place again. To be continued...

  • Kris E.

We opted for seating in the back corner...they were not kidding when they said it was in the corner. But we didn't mind it overall. It was cozy to say the least. Food was pretty good. We each had a sandwich and had no problem eating every last bit. The house made chips were awesome...and I loved how our bread was lightly toasted. We each had a cocktail and they were great too. There was a flower in my drink that had a bug crawling in it...didn't bother to complain--just chucked out the flower. The only downside was the service which I blame on our table location. Not as quick to refill waters or get your table cleared. But we were in no real rush...so it didn't matter to us. The pizzas look awesome...we'll try it the next time and hopefully get a window seat.

We are spending three days here with friends and this place can't be any better. We're from the the East Coast and are a bit pushy. These guys made a fabulous meatball and pepperoni pizza for us and it was not on the menu...This place is a MUST! Enjoy. Jim Philadelphia, Pa

We met some friends here at their recommendation and had a great time. The Attic is, as the name implies, upstairs from the main restaurant. It's less formal and has a European pub-like feel to it. The menu is also limited, but has a good selection from which all could find something to suit their tastes. We had a couple appetizers which came on plates that looked like slate -- the smoked parmesan with honey poached figs and pistachios, and the prosciutto were winners Our waiter was very nice and the presentation was nearly flawless. I didn't find my Salish Meatball sandwich all that special, but the men loved their shaved beef with horseradish mayo sandwiches and the other lady enjoyed her grilled cheese, which was apparently made with 90-day aged cheddar. Above all, the atmosphere is what puts this place at 4 stars. If you get a table by the window, you'll overlook the Snoqualmie Falls and feel like you're in a different time and place (Twin Peaks comes to mind for many!).

Great specialty apps and a terrific beer and wine list. The atmosphere and service was terrific and they had an amazing musician playing throughout the evening. We will definitely be back.. The location was spectacular overlooking the falls.

Enjoyed the atmosphere, quick attentive service, spicy bloody mary, and their food. A rich grown up grilled cheese (served brilliantly with tomato dipping sauce!) and their honey salmon chowder were a perfect little meal to share with the husband, as we snuggled in looking out over the falls. Just delightful.

Some friends and I took over a dormer in the Attic Bistro on New Year's Day (that's one-one-ought-seven, not the year previous). We sank into the overstuffed chairs, listened to the crackling of the real wood fire, and ate their marvelous fare all gol-damn day. And I'd do it again. It's the perfect place to get maximum secretion of the coziness gland. The only drawback is that it's illegal to sleep there. In the Bistro, I mean. Not the lodge. (Damn you, Revised Code of Washington!)

  • Bounce B.

I used to love this place, but they've changed their menu in the last year or so. Now, it's fine for a mid-range restaurant where most of the diners probably come for the view or are already staying in the hotel. They have fire-roasted pizzas, sandwiches, and a usual-suspects menu of small plates and sandwiches. Everything we've tried tasted good---not great---but adequate. And, I guess, from a pure efficiency perspective, they can be praised for eliminating all of that superfluous wonderfulness.

I really want to give this place more stars - but can't. I hope to come back next year with out of town guests and have a better experience. First off, let me say the Salish Lodge itself is beautiful, in a gorgeous setting - adjacent to some rugged falls. The lodge is a great destination spot when hosting out of town guests who have already "done Pike's" too many times. At Christmas it is all decked out for the season. The "Attic" restaurant tries - but still has a ways to go. The ambiance is wonderful to say the least, with a few prime window seats overlooking the falls. The seating is open, the feeling is relaxed, and surprisingly it accommodated well some children that were with other groups. Server was delightful - Heather I believe. My tips for this place: Think of it as a place to chill and have some wine and appetizers. It's pricey for what you get (wine was really overpriced IMHO) - but hey, you are at the Salish Lodge for a reason - relax and enjoy. Read others reviews and see what they liked - or food was either really good or really mediocre. We had a party of eight and we shared (but be warned these are small portions). The flat-bread appetizers and pizzas were very tasty. Salads were really good. The grilled cheese....was just that.....a basic grilled cheese. Meatballs - tasted like the frozen one you can buy at Costco. The salmon chowder - an embarrassment for a NW restaurant - boring. So if you visit SL, I would go to the attic just to relax and enjoy the time - grab a window seat if possible, have a salad and some flat-bread, glass of wine, and enjoy the moment.

We went to the Attic on Saturday night after dinner in Bellevue for drinks and dessert. The Pumpkin Crème Brule was amazing!!! They had a guitarist playing James Taylor like songs, he was great! Will def come back!! I saw a sign on my way out that said happy hour in the Attic Monday-Friday from 4-6pm.

This little bar is ok for some drinks, or to have a coffee or hot chocolate on a cold day. Just know that its proximity to the falls makes it really pricey, and it's not worth it unless you can get a window seat to see the falls in action. After saying there were no wait lists for tables, the waitress kicked us out of window seats because of someone who said they had been waiting.

Went to the Attic for lunch and absolutely loved it. It's a lodge setting with amazing views of the waterfall. The food and wine selection was pretty good and the service was friendly and helpful. I ordered the Cesar salad to start. It was delicious and a little different than the usual Cesar because it was sprinkled with calamata olives, which added a nice touch to it. For my entree I ordered the Halibut, which was seasoned perfectly and was moist and tender. It came with asparagus and fingerling potatoes. So good!! I would definitely order it again. The only reason I gave it four stars is because seating is on a first come first serve basis and people swoop on the window seats fast. I recommend that you go early and wait for a table by the view. You won't be sorry!

I took my parents to the Attic Bistro on the last night of their Seattle Vacation, It was a mixed night. It started off well, with a seat next to the window with a partial view of the falls. Our soups sounded great--salmon chowder and asparagus bisque. The salmon chowder was great. It was loaded with big chunks of chowder. The asparagus bisque was bland, and tasted like baby food. We ordered the salumi charcuterie which was great. It was a good thing we ordered it too, because our entrees didn't come for over an hour. This was pretty disappointing. At $30 a plate I expect service to be excellent. Once the entrees arrived they were good, but not great. My wife had the halibut and I had the Jidori chicken. They were tasty, but nowhere worthy of their price. Due to the long wait the waitress gave us dessert for free. The cheesecake was just okay, but the Creme brulee was amazing! It was one of the best desserts I've ever had in my life! We wrapped up the night by viewing the falls in the moonlight. I had never seen the falls at night, and highly recommend it!

well i am sitting here right now with people in my company at an offsite and it took half an hour to get our drinks ( including the water!), and now it is an hour later and our entrees have not arrived yet... So we have only the salads to go on so far. But, as my colleague Gio here is saying, good heirloom tomatoes are hard to find, so I am *adding* a star. Since I got an iPhone and everyone seems to want to play with it ( I could maybe charge $5 a minute and make some moonlighting dough... Hmm) I figured I'd just write a yelp review as it happens so people will stop taking it from me. It's been two hours and my boss has just gone to say something - this should be interesting... he prides himself on being a crazy Irishman :) So after my boss flagged down the waitress three times and then got up to talk to them and then went down to the hotel manager, we got the food. It was ok, that's all. For "waiting two hours for a sandwich," as one of my colleagues said, it wasn't worth it. And with the clueless and apathetic service, I'm taking off that second star. Also, I had to skip dessert. - BOO! Our work dinner is going to be catered tomorrow! The hotel room is a completely different story... wow! Well I need to write a separate review for that because that's obviously not related to the restaurant service. I'm glad i got an iPhone. When I get hungry I get very grumpy and that's not good when you're around your coworkers... I would never have written a review on my phone while waiting for a dish to come in a non-work setting but in this setting it was the lesser of two evils! :) And besides it's forgivable as we are tech analysts. Anyway, I felt the need to explain myself to Yelp readers, as it sounded like a rude thing to do if taken out of context. Plus, now I am procrastinating work, yay! So i guess the moral is... get an iPhone for grumpy waits at work dinners with bad service. Worth every penny (49,900 of them)!

This is quickly becoming a place where everybody knows my name and I'm always glad that I came. The atmosphere is wonderful and I've never had to wait for a table. Food is just as terrific as its big sister (Salish Lodge) below, plus they almost always have live music (guitar soloist). I love going here for dessert and drinks or dinner. Sit by the window and you can see the fall. The wait staff is very friendly and chased me down with my purse when I left it on the back of my chair (d'oh!).

ive been here many times over the years because i love the area so much, but the food is too inconsistent and uninspired. the last time i was here, the service was terrible; inattentive, uninformed only received full order after requesting it. the bartender was good, but the waiter was clueless and unprofessional. $70 for 2 beers & 2 sandwiches and that werent all that great, and its a limited menu to start with. i dont know who is directing the food and beverage program here, but they need a their walking papers so the restaurant experince can be brought up to the level that the location deserves. this time has pushed me too far, and i wont be back

Me and the old lady came in for dinner on Sunday night and we were flat out impressed. Ambiance/atmosphere- great. Service- Stellar. Food- Very Good. Drinks- Good. View- un real. The place is set up very well with a mix of kick back couch like areas and your typical table and chair set ups. We were lucky enough to be seated on the window and to say the view of the falls is perfect would be an understatement. I ordered the elk pasta( Very good, really fresh ingredients, different) my wife had the burger( Again different but damn good). We also shared the caesar beforehand( And again different, drizzled balsamc on top, but very VERY good). The service was terrific and the evening as a whole was great. We will be back and will be bringing friends.
