Arrive hungry and be assured you will leave sated. This pan-Asian cookery in Greenwood offers a solid selection of menu choices. Some favourites include their spinach rangoon with fruity dipping sauce, chicken katsu, and any one of their rotating bento boxes. A personal favourite is the orange chicken made spicy on request. It's not listed this way but they know me well enough to load it up with the heat! The dishes are always neatly plated and served on huge plates to emphasize their contents. While the décor has no rhyme or reason, there are lots of magazines to flip through while you wait for your meal. We don't mind the television because the volume is usually down low with closed captioning. Don't watch it if it bothers you. The service is friendly and always fast. I will agree that their food isn't the best but what they provide is quite serviceable for the price point. The parking lot is small but only once have we parked on the street and walked. They will remain in our rotation of places to eat out when the mood strikes us. And to date, we've never had a bad meal experience.

In an unassuming corner, in an unassuming building, is an unassumingly decent teriyaki shop. The prices aren't too high, the portions aren't too small, and the food, while not spectacular, was pretty good. In between a coffee stand and a children's clothing store, it wouldn't be crazy to have passed by this place many times and not notice it. Once you walk in though, the very simplistic yet modern decor was a welcome change to the cafeteria look of similar places. After we were sat and our order was taken, we were given water and tea, which was a very nice touch. The highly recommended crab rangoons were deserving of their Yelp praise. Crispy on the outside, not drowning in oil, and accompanied by a gently sweet cranberry dipping sauce, it was the highlight of the meal. The chicken katsu was well made, but nothing spectacular. As for the shanghai noodles, it COULD have been great. Fresh vegetables, soft noodles, a savory sauce. The biggest negative was that the chicken had a very gamey flavor, and unfortunately that flavor seeped into every bite of the food. If anyone has(looking at you college students) ever cooked a piece of meat that had sat in the fridge for a little too long, you'll know what I mean. Despite that one flaw, it was an enjoyable meal in an enjoyable atmosphere. I will still be on search for my 5-star neighborhood teriyaki joint, but this was a decent discovery nonetheless. Service: 4/5 Decor: 4/5 Food: 3/5 TL;DR: A bit better than average, a bit worse than great.

We ordered the katsu, chicken teriyaki, and crab rangoons. Huge portions and the food was absolutely delicious! Also great service! Would highly recommend this restaurant. The owner also came around to ask about how the food was. Shows they care about the food they serve to their customers.

Mr & Mrs Wok has delicious and flavorful food that satisfies my frequent cravings for teriyaki and katsu. As a special treat, their bentos are spectacular and will really fill you up. This is also one of the only teriyaki places my husband and I can find that still serve short ribs!

I love the decor and cozy atmosphere at Mr. And Mrs. Wok. They have great noodle dishes and quick service. Super friendly people, I would highly recommend this place.

This place is literally down the street from where we live, and we frequent about once a week. Very cute place, run by a mom-and-pop and the service is speedy and friendly. Let's start with the amazing: Broccoli beef. I've ordered it so many times, the waitress doesn't need to give me a menu anymore. I don't consider myself a broccoli-beef connoisseur or anything, but damn it is GOOD. Add a little Sriracha sauce and it's absolute heaven. The beef is quality and just melts in your mouth... and I would do anything to know how they prepare the sauce they cook it in. Thinking about it makes me salivate. And it's not just broccoli and beef! They add sliced carrots and onions too. Bonus points in my book. Other things that are dang tasty: Seoul beef, garlic noodles with chicken, pot stickers and the crab rangoon. Complimentary green tea, great prices and awesome service. Give this place a try, you will love it!

I've fallen back into a teriyaki craving phase of late, and fortunately for me, there are about 25 different places within walking distance of my house so I don't have to worry about getting bored of the same old flavor. Mr and Mrs Wok does teriyaki well, and on top of that, they have fantastic egg rolls and different types of stuffed rangoon. The spicy teriyaki was a teensy bit on the mild side but that's what sriracha is for and the flavor was excellent. Good food, fair prices. Going back sooner than other places for sure.

Don't understand super enthusiastic reviews. It took 15 minutes to get extremely average Teriyaki chicken and beef. The brown rice was gooey, the beef was kind of salty, and the sauce tasted straight out of a bulk jug. Average prices for teriyaki. Not horrible, but no rush to revisit.

The teriyaki here is delicious. Other dishes are good too. For dinner service, the bento meals are a lot of fun, with a variety of items. The staff is always friendly, and the service is quick. The prices are reasonable too. The decor is good and clean, and Food Network is always on TV. There aren't a lot of spaces in the parking lot, so sometimes parking can get kind of weird, but it's a small issue.

This place is very good! I had the Monk's noodles and they were full of flavor. The portion size was great and the prices were very reasonable.

After reading reviews I expected the place to look like a typical teriyaki shop and was surprised that it looks like a cafe. It looks clean and bright and although I was taking out, I would definitely eat there. This place is reasonably priced, decent food, and the food seemed fresher than most. It's a nice alternative. We had a spicy beef stir fry that was less cornstarchy than many other places in the area. And a chicken dish that had decent flavor even without heavy spice. It was A OK as the rating says.

Everything I've had has been incredible. The ingredients are fresh and flavorful, orders come fast and every person I've met who works there is friendly. There's not many great Chinese restaurants in this area. This is a diamond in the rough.

Man oh man... the beef Saigon Salad is a HIT. I only meant to eat half and ate the whole thing... oops. Fresh lettuce, cabbage, mango, cucumber, cilantro, and rice noodles. Win. I even took a photo of it to post.

Pretty decent spot for some teriyaki. The space is a bit bright; great for a quick dinner but not ideal for a romantic night. We shared their spinach rangoon (solid), and I got my usual chicken teriyaki. Of all the asian food spots by our apartment in Greenwood, this is the one we're most likely to go to.

I work next door to this fantastical restaurant and they have great food and fabulous service. The owners are super nice and the staff is too. I've tried the beef teriyaki, chicken teriyaki, miso soup, garden salad, and their side of stir fried veggies and everything has been delish! Must try if you're in the area. Some people think it's overpriced but really you're paying for the quality of the food. Not a bad deal!

  • Nikki K.

Good for take out. I had the spicy chicken which was just good chicken and vegetables sauteed and spicy. I liked that it wasn't too saucy and it wasn't heavy like some dishes can be. I'll go back.

  • Katie D.

Good food, great service, decent atmosphere and very clean. I liked the mango chicken and the crab rangoon, which I ordered after reading the reviews. We were one of three filled tables the entire time we were there, but another handful of people came in for take-out so I guess they must do good business. Didn't give it four stars because it seemed slightly overpriced and while, yes, the food was good, it wasn't the best I've ever had! Still, I'm sure we will go back.

Their lunch special is a great price for my small budget. I usuallly get the Teriyaki bowl and it has lots of veggies (broccoli, carrots, cabbage, etc.. They have the place very well decorated and I love it! I go there every week as a treat to myself. If I want to go all out, I get their bulgogi. I also love how they put black sesame seeds on their rice. The salad greens and the dressing they top it with are very good too.

I am so sad. got delivery from these guys last week. I wanted to like it, I really did! ordered 4 dishes, every dish tasted like the prior one. except the Hot-n-Sour soup, it was - - - sorry - - - the blandest I've ever tasted. Since I'm unwilling to divorce a restaurant that will deliver lunch to my house, I will try them again, yet next time dine-in & see if we have better success. oh, the handshaved noodles in the chow mein were great, some of the best I've had. but the sauce/flavor was identical to the other dishes. Will write again IF I CAN CONVINCE HUBBY TO TRY THEM AGAIN

My husband and I live down the street and find ourselves walking the few minutes to eat here or to get take out. The service is always great and the food is delicious. I have a feeling we'll be spending a lot of fall and winter months here to get some good, warm comfort food.

This had been my go to teriyaki place for the last year to 2 years. Portion sizes compared to other places was smaller but the quality of the food made up for it. A couple of weeks ago I called in a beef short rib order with double meat and a teriyaki. When I arrived the cashier was flustered and told me that she was told that they could not do double meat on the short ribs, something that I ordered once before. They had not started cooking my order either, they made me wait 15 more min. While I understand that it may have been a food cost issue they should have handled themselves differently. They absolutely could have done the double meat for me, and gave me a different cost, I wouldn't have minded. The owner lady has zero customer service skills. While I love their food this rubbed me the wrong way and I don't think that I will be going there in the future. I went there 2-4 times a month. The tough thing for me is finding a new teriyaki place with good food and better service than Mr and Mrs Wok.

I've got a personal rule about trying a place three times before writing a review, and it paid off here. This place was cruising for an easy and solid 4: The food is really, really good. I enjoyed the orange chicken and crab rangoon (served with an excellent dipping sauce - you may be skeptical, but it's delicious). It's clean inside, looks nice, service is fast and very friendly. Also, they have a skylight. I approve of these more than I should. But the fifth star? Well. Third time in, we cruised in pretty close to closing time, ordered our dishes, including teriyaki with vegetables; our choice of fried or raw. Long story short we got our food at something like two minutes before they closed and the vegetable part was the other kind than what we'd ordered. We professed - to some degree - that this was okay, no problem, don't worry about it. They were about to close, we didn't have strong feelings one way or the other, it was okay, no problems, really. Maybe three minutes later the right one showed up at our table anyway. I heard them cleaning in the kitchen and everything - going the extra mile even after we said it wasn't a problem all of it basically right at closing time? Instant five. I mean there's customer service and then there's customer service, you know? Also, just as a note, they have mastered the art of frying things (crab rangoon, orange chicken, as I mentioned above) and not making them heavy and thick. Light, crisp, and delicious. Definitely try them. Or if you want noodles, I suggest the Shanghai. But definitely go, one way or the other.

I've only eaten here once, but I'm going back to try more of their menu. My first time in there the owner took the time to go over the menu with me explaining the fried and non-fried items. She was really sweet. The crab ragoons were a little too cruncy, but the cranberry sauce is great! I felt like this was on the healthier end of the spectrum of chinese food that I've had. Even though fried isn't exactly healthy, Everything wasn't overly greasy. The cons: I wish the portions were bigger. No fortune cookie!

Mr. and Mrs. Wok is clean and delicious. But you may need to order a side item to 'top it off'. 'Clean' is really how I would describe the balance of the meals, as well. I usually go with the staple: chicken teriyaki (hard to mess up, really). You're given a little bit of salad, some rice, grilled chicken and some gyoza. I usually upgrade to brown rice (which I find to be more filling and flavorful) and breast meat. Perfectly cooked with grill marks. Delightful. I was very impressed by the service, as well (complimentary pot of hot tea). The price isn't terribly high, but it's definitely pricey in comparison to most asian restaurants. That said, the chicken meat was definitely of a higher quality than most places. But if you're expecting to get the kind of portions that you'd receive at a sit-down chinese restaurant, then you're coming to the wrong place. A meal (provided you eat every bit of it) should be enough to leave you satisfied. But don't expect any amount of leftovers. It would be nice to at least know that you're getting a full chicken breast for $8. But, as is the case with most Teriyaki places in Seattle, they halve the portion, but maintain the price. Pity. It tastes great, but they could definitely stand to lower their prices a little to match the portions served. Give it a try, if you've got the money to spend on half-portions of meat. It's very clean and professionally prepared; which is a nice change of pace, for this type of restaurant.

I enjoy eating at Mr. and Mrs wok. I like vegetarian dishes, so my girlfriend and I usually get an order of zen zen plate and monk noodles. The Zen Zen plate is a little spicy, the monk noodles have a garlic-y sauce and udon noodles minus broth. I like it a lot. I like going to Mr and Mrs Wok whenever we're too tired to cook at home. That being said, the food isn't super. It's kind of an asian fusion/asian blend, but nothing's spectacular and I onced had the sweet and sour chicken and it was really bad. The veggies were clearly from a bag and some were cold on the inside, and it was really-really-really-frighteningly sweet. The chicken also seemed to be bagged, and that dish seemed very different from the monk noodles which had a good feel and taste to them. I haven't had much else, and there isn't a lot of great places on Greenwood/Holman Road, so you might see me at Mr and Mrs Wok often. I give it an A-ok.

Surprisingly good! Just wanted a fast lunch. One order of Teriyaki pork lunch more than satisfied. Wait staff discouraged us from ordering side of pot stickers. Good advice. One lunch ($16) more than enough. Two mediocre spring rolls. Three pot stickers slightly better. Pork teriyaki very good. Broccoli fabulous! Stir fried bean sprouts with lots of pepper even better. Salad and miso soup unremarkable. But veggies were good enough to tempt us to come back to try more of the menu!

This place is such a surprise! The lovely lady who owns it is so hospitable and kind with her service. She thinks ahead to the next step and asks the right questions to help you decide. It's a hidden gem of terrific service in the neighborhood and sparkling clean. It feels open, light and the food is much better than the "usual" teriyaki place. It's true what they promote - fast and fresh. The vegetables were perfect (not overcooked), flavor nice and memorable. But what really makes this place is the husband and wife who run it. They really care and it shows!

Very good and cheap! Fried rice isn't on the menu but they made it and it was perfect. They do take out which is very convenient. If you live in the area you should definitely try, it is our new favorite Chinese spot, support local businesses!

Like everyone else who has reviewed this place, every time I go in, there simply aren't any diners. This is really sad, because the ownership is extremely nice, the place is very clean and modern (flat screen TV to watch news, plenty of free magazines/newspapers, lots of seating), and the food is outstanding! Oh, the food. Yes, the food is most excellent. Unlike most generic Chinese places, Mr. and Mrs. Wok uses real ingredients - meaning you get actual chicken rather than tasteless chicken nuggets when you order Sweet and Sour Chicken. The spicy chicken is very hot - but delicious! And you must try the Crab Rangoon - simply amazing. Everything tastes freshly prepared with high-quality ingredients. The menu is expansive - they have everything from typical pan-Asian cuisine to Korean food - and it is very inexpensive. You can walk out with two entrees, an order of Crab Rangoon, and two cups of Miso soup for under $30. I highly suggest the Hot and Spicy Noodles, Crab Rangoon, Miso Soup, Chicken Teriyaki, Sweet and Sour Chicken, and any variety of the fried rice. The hot and spicy chicken was a bit too much for me, but I'm sure plenty of people out there will love it. Please go here! I don't want to see it close. It's way too good to go away!

Just had dinner here tonight. The food is OK and prices are cheap. The service is horrible! Took 10 minutes for the server to bring water and another 30 to get our food. This is a teriyaki kind of place where it should take 10 - 15 min. to get your order. Once we had our food the server never checked on us so we couldn't tell anybody the noodles weren't cooked right. We never got a refill in our water and the check never came either. We had to go to the register to pay and when we mentioned our concerns, the lady at the front was very rude and told us that was expected on a Friday night because the are busy. I love going to small local restaurants and it frustrates me when a place like this one treats their customers like they don't care about them. Don't go to Mr. and Mrs. Wok, take your business to another local restaurant where they'll appreciate you.

Generous portions of well-made food in a warm atmosphere. The seasoning and cooking is refined, not overwhelming, as in many Asian restaurants.

This is my favorite teriyaki place. I will admit, once I find my favorite menu choice, i rarely change it. I order the chicken breast teriyaki meal, no seeds. There are black seeds (poppy?) that they put on top of the rice and salad. Call ahead of time for pickup/to go orders. The staff is always friendly!

More sophisticated than the average teriyaki joint. They have a pretty extensive menu. Everything I've had here has been tasty, the Hot and Spicy Noodles are especially fabulous.

Mrs wok, (I didn't catch her name)may have been having bad day, but she was very rude. I was out with my mum who is allergic to onions, so I was very clear NO ONIONS on either dish. She brought one dish with onions the other without. I just wanted to get the one dish remade she argued that I should have also specified no green onions! I said but it has onions in the name. She brought us the new dish very angrily, and without a word. The other dish shanghai noodles was excellent, the one she remade wasn't good there was a bitter taste, and we decidesd not to eat it. We paid for both dishes, but won't be going back.

Allow me to set the scene: It was a frigid evening, and we were looking to cozy up with Chinese food and a few episodes of the Sopranos. Carry-out from Mr and Mrs Wok was highly satisfying. We started with the Seattle salad rolls for a foundation of freshness and crunch. But the highlight was the spicy teriyaki chicken, a thin layer of peppery-sweet sauce glazing and slightly crisping the exterior of the excellent-quality white meat chicken. The little green salad -- iceberg lettuce and cabbage, from what I could tell -- made for the ideal counterpart. Extremely reasonable prices, too -- I didn't see anything that surpassed $10. I'll be back, and I might dine in the cozy (read: small) space next time.

First of all, when I sat down to write this review I glanced at another review that said they actually serve crab ran goons. I almost feel like taking another star off just for that. Come on man! That's as fake as you can get for Asian inspired food. As some of the other reviews have stated, the people there are very nice. One of the cute older ladies there reminds me of my Mom. Sorry Mom! But the spicy chicken dish which I had was totally uninspired, although edible. It seems like something I would throw together at the last minute at home with chicken from the freezer and sauce from a jar.

I almost feel bad writing a "meh" review since so many people seem to love this place. I stopped in here one night for take out after a grueling workout. I ordered a noodle dish with chicken. It was. . a noodle dish with chicken. It wasn't bad. It wasn't good either, it just. . . was. I don't think I could dine in, the HUGE TV sort of bugged me, if I want to watch TV while I eat I'll stay home, or go to a bar. The decor was a hodge podge of random stuff which I found visually confusing. I probablly won't be back.

Curry noodle yummilicious! I've been to this place twice. The first time was with my toddler son. They're very kid-friendly and my son learned to pop the edemame out of their shells at this joint so take note that my sweet memory may influence this rating. The joint is clean and welcoming. The service is always great and the food is reliably delicious. What a welcome departure from the typical terriyaki joints in town! Check it!

My boyfriend and I LOVE Mr. & Mrs. Wok! The dining room is cute & clean, the staff is almost too friendly (if there is such a thing) and the menu has a wide variety of choices. My boyfriend always gets the spicy chicken teriyaki (which is pretty spicy) or the beef short ribs. My favorites are the mango tofu and the crab ragoon, both dishes are AMAZING and I haven't found anything comparable anywhere else . If I'm not in the mood for something sweet I have a few other go-to dishes that always taste fresh and never greasy. Great customer service is really important to me, and I always get it here. The woman who always answers the phone and works the counter is super sweet. Her English is a little shaky but she makes up for it in personality. She always repeats your order back to you on the phone and they've never made a mistake on a single one of my numerous orders. My boyfriend and I almost always go in together and pick-up our order. I went in alone a few months ago and the woman asked me "April, where is your bodyguard?" I thought it was hilarious and refreshingly unassuming. In my opinion Mr. & Mrs. Wok is by far the best teriyaki in the Greenwood area and definitely worth visiting. It's also pretty inexpensive so what do you have to lose?

Everything was good. Potstickers, crab rangoons, bulgogi, chicken teriyaki, monk noodles with pork. The kids liked it too. Service was OK, prices were good, restaurant was clean. We'll definitely be back.

I don't write review very much but I had to jump in since this place as a four is a bit overrated. Good take out place. All the items I have tried are pretty mediocre. This is glorified Teriyaki joint. We tried the crab rangoon, stir frys and sweet and sour pork. All decent but nothing I would put over three stars. Regular Teriyaki joint foods with a little bit of Korean and other Asian influences. Some of the items have an interest twist too.

This place is so nice and clean that I really wished I loved their food. I cannot believe how many people think this is "the best Chinese food" in Seattle. That is truly shocking. These people use frozen vegetables, poorly prepped vegetables, and bland, mediocre (probably pre-prepared) sauces. I mean the sauces taste bottled. The spicing was all wrong. There was so little flavor that it was pathetic. I guess there are a lot of people who have NO PALATE WHATSOEVER...OR...they have two different cooks, and I get the crappy one. Service was VERY nice, decor nice, they even have a large bookshelf/room divider thingie when you enter with reading material (!!!) to enjoy if you dine alone. I love reading while dining alone. Unfortunately, if all I want is reading material, I can go to the library. If you want food too...go somewhere else. This place cooks for people who don't know from flavor. BAH.

I do enjoy eating here. The place is very clean and neat and the service is excellent. I also enjoy their Teriyaki as well as their Bul Go Gi dishes. Since I'm Vietnamese and know how Vietnamese food should taste like, I would say that their Miss Saigon Noodles (which is their take on the Vietnamese Bun Thit Nuong) does not taste authentic enough. I also tried their Curry Noodles and Garlic Noodles and they both tasted okay. (I wouldn't order those dishes again though.)

A friend and I went to this Mr. & Mrs. Wok for the first time because all of the 4 or 5 stars review. My first impression: The place is "family house" style, and is clean. No "greasy" smell when we walked in, so it was good. The table for 2 people is a little too small. According to some other people's reviews, we ordered teriyaki chicken and shanghai noodle. The teriyaki chicken looks just like I used to get at other places. Maybe I had a little high expectation for this dish due to other reviews, after I tasted it, this dish is just Ok, not really "delicious" to both of us; actually it was too salty for both of us. I won't say that I didn't like it, but I honestly had the same quality of teriyaki chicken at other places with a cheaper price. When the Shanghai noodle arrived to us, my friend and I both were smiling - because it was actually a small quantity dish - it looks more of like for bigger children (or if you are on a diet); This noodle dish tastes fine; although it was below $10, I still think it was a little pr icy because of the small quantity of foods in there. The service was fine. The server came back checking on us a couple of times, so it was nice. Overall, I think this place is not bad, it is just so-so! I don't think my money was well spent in here, so will I go back? Most likely Not!

The chicken teriyaki here is simply the best. Tender delicious wonderfully charred chicken smothered in a sweet delicious sauce. The service here is also exceptionally friendly. They have a lot of other menu items that may or may not be good. That doesn't really matter to me because I will be coming back for just one thing. The best teriyaki chicken in North Seattle.

We absolutely love this place. It saddens me when we walk in and there is no one there. We have to get the word out!! We have a 3 year old picky eater and they ALWAYS accomodate whatever he wants. (Noodles, light sauce, no veggies please...) And the Mango chicken...heaven! The prices are so reasonable too. What a great place.

After driving past this place many many times, I finally had the chance to stop in for lunch. I'd left some items to sell at the children's boutique next door and so didn't want a long lunch. I ordered the sweet & sour chicken. It was like no other s&s I've ever had! The chicken was actual pieces of chicken, tasted like breast meat, lightly battered and fried, in a delicately sweet & sour sauce. Nothing heavy, not greasy, just delicious. It was served with perfect, Japanese-style rice on the side and dusted with black sesame seeds. Good tea served alongside. I'll definately try Mr. & Mrs. Wok again.

"I recommend the mango chicken" -Mango Pants The mango chicken has pear, cucumber, dried cranberries, and cashews with delicious, lightly battered chicken in a good mango sauce. If you like garlic, try the garlic noodles. You really have to like garlic. Also, the sweet potato noodles, crab rangoon with raspberry sauce, and chicken katsu are very good. Edit: They sometimes have a Salmon bento box for $13, and it's a steal and a half for the quality and quantity of food that you're getting. If you live remotely near Holman Rd, hurry and visit them!

This place makes me sad. The people working here are great, and it's a clean environment. The food is not so great, the chicken teriyaki was okay, the orange chicken was terrible. Frozen vegetables, seemingly frozen eggrolls and an overly sweet orange chicken sauce rounded out this visit, and the price was pretty high. The stars for this visit are pretty much only for the people working here.

We moved here from Boston a year ago and were spoiled by the amazing east coast Chinese delivery and takeout spots. We've tried so many here and have become quite disenchanted. Finally we stumbled upon this yelp-up and decided to gingerly give it a shot. WOW! Fantastic!! Real, delicious chicken and savory rice and spices!! We are impressed and have probably found our new chinese waterting hole. The mango chicken is just mouth-watering and the spicy chicken and fried rice is so yummy and perfectly hot and spicy. Thanks Yelpers!!

Mrs. Wok is awesome! This is the epitome of what a small business in America should be. The ambience is homey, the service is friendly but not too aggressive, and the food is not bad either. Everyone gets a salad (awesome) and miso soup (good) as a starter... solid first impression. The waitress was cute and sweet (two for two). I had a bento combo with rice, egg roll, dumplings, bean sprouts, broccoli, beef bulgogi, and salmon. The bulgogi was great; the salmon, a bit dry; the bean sprouts were excellent; egg roll and dumplings were to die for, the broccoli was lacking seasoning. The above merits 5 stars, but the price pulls it down a notch. Though you do get a lot of food, expect to pay $15 per person, which is a bit more than most teriyaki places. I would definitely return, but probably only when eating dinner with someone over age 35. For a meal with the girlfriend, I would go to Manna Teriyaki ( yelp.com/biz/manna-deli-… ) where we'd spend $10 for two instead of $30.

I went here last week and order some spicy teriyaki and shanghai noodles which both look fresh and tasted great! I also order the seattle rolls which were crunchy and different but super awesome. But unfortunately its soo empty, nobody seem to have notice this great restaurant yet,so that is why I wanted to write this review for people who haven't tried this restaurant to have a look for themselves! P.S. Don't listen to HATER Kelley P

This lovely little family resturant is simply the best for Asian dishes. I try to eat here at least once a week. The clean, bright and friendly environment feels like coming home. I just love that they know what I want to eat and prepare it they way I like it (spicy), ask after my family and make everything so inviting. You can't beat the prices, and the food is simply the best in Seattle, with so many choices it's hard to not over indulge. Try the Miso soup next time your in. They also have take out service, although I really enjoy the dining room so I always eat there.

****UPDATED**** The boyfriend and I returned this past Saturday night for take-out because it was so good the first time. We ordered Kung Pao chicken, Chicken Yakisoba and Chicken Breast Teriyaki. The boyfriend loved the Kung Pao chicken, I loved the Chicken Yakisba, the teriyaki on the other hand.... I commented to my boyfriend that the chicken seemed oddly tough and hard. He thought it had been frozen. I hate just a few pieces because I wasn't digging it that much. About 3 minutes after eating I got the tummy rumblings, and I raced to the bathroom to throw up my entire dinner. It was definitely the chicken teriyaki. I'd love to go back for the yakisoba, but it might be awhile before I step foot in there again. **Original** After reading the reviews on here for Mr and Mrs Wok, my boyfriend and I decided to try it out for dinner. I was immedietely impressed with the cleanliness and decorative style of the place. The waitress was very friendly and welcoming. We ordered yakisoba with chicken (6.99), mongol style beef (7.99) and chicken egg rolls (2 for 3.49). We ordered to go and the waitress made sure to offer us tea and water while we waited. There were only 2 other people eating while we were there. The food was delicious, nice kick without being too spicy. The mongol beef was awesome. The only reason I gave 4 stars was because the portions seemed a wee bit on the small side compared with other similiar establishments. We will fo sho be going back. Yum.

On my fourth time here, the same quality and exceptional service. There are wonderful filling lunch specials to choose from everyday, and the service is always quick and smiling. Everything I have had, I have enjoyed, and will definitely be back again.

I reallly wanted crab rangoon and so many of the reviews for Mr. and Mrs. Wok specifically said to try it there. I was disappointed by it. Bummer. But the chicken and gyoza was good.

This place has some of the best Chinese food in the Ballard area. Every time we go we can count on fast, friendly service and amazing food. The mango cashew chicken is always amazing and the bulgogi doesn't disappoint. Other than those two standout dishes most of the others are above average. My only critique of any of the dishes comes from the noodle dishes. We had the garlic noodle chicken. The garlic was overpowering and the noodles were just meh. It was the only single time I have been disappointed in nearly 20 trips. Avoid the noodle dishes and you will not be disappointed.

Very clean, quick, and well priced. I had the chicken breast teriyaki - which seems to be difficult to mess up; however I've found that a lot of places tend to overcook the chicken. Not Mr. and Ms. Wok - their chicken breast teriaki was cooked just right - done, but still juicy and flavorful. The portions were pretty generous as well. I'll definitely be back.

I am giving this place 5 stars even though all I have had is their Teriyaki! I have been looking for good Teriyaki around this area and it has been really hard to find! I ordered today and it is amazing! I can't wait to go back for other menu items! Not a bad price either! I was thoroughly satisfied!!

Came here today for lunch with a friend because of the good reviews. We were not disappointed. Had the lunch special of Kung Pow chicken, had pot stickers and crab Rangoon won tons...YUM! lots of veggies in the Kung Pow, also a nice light sauce and not oily. Pot stickers were the best I've had.

Nom nom nom nom. Amazing find on yelp!!!! Went out to dinner with my girlfriend's sister and her boyfriend. Service was knowledgeable and pleasant and food came out in a reasonable time. Entrees ranged from $7-$15. Ambiance left a little to be desired but the nice glass lamps made up for it. We got crab rangoon for an appetizer which was well cooked and were happily surprised with both the cranberry dipping sauce and the dill cream cheese inside. Spicy Noodles with tofu were actually a little spicy (3 out of 5 spiciness) but came with a good variety of fresh vegetables and tasty noodles. And now for the bento boxes, oh man oh man!!! If you like to try a variety of food that is very tasty and reasonably priced (around $15) go for the bento boxes. We had the grilled prawns which came with miso soup, salad, white rice, wontons, grilled prawns, broccoli salad and bean sprouts. Overall the food was well seasoned with a variety of unique flavors and at a very reasonable price. Thanks Mr and Mrs Wok for making Chinese food fun again!

Spicy and delicious, when you order something to be spicy (especial the spicy chicken teriyaki) it accusal is spicy. I'm a fan. The restaurant is clean and the food is excellent. Although the price can feel a bit pricey it is definitely worth it. So next time your thinking Chinese go too Mr & Mrs.Wok because its delicious.

As good as teriyaki gets, hands down. Everything is delicious, especially the little toasted sesame seeds they sprinkle on the salad! Never had a bad experience here ever, and I've been at least 20 times. Also very nicely decorated and very CLEAN!

This restaurant was featured in the paper this morning. Their write up had my mouth watering so for dinner we decided to WOK IT OUT! I had the mango cashew chicken that was featured in the article and it was absolutely delicious. My companion had some dish with tofu. It was nice and spicy. I'm not a big tofu advocate but you couldn't even tell it was tofu. Its a nice small place with waitstaff that were very attentive. The prices were reasonable.

I've tried Mr&Mrs Wok several times. Crab rangoon is delicious. The staff were super nice and the decor is clean and simple. However, the food is just meh. This last time that I went, I ordered the teriyaki. It was dry, tough, and pretty much flavorless. If it was based purely on atmosphere and service, I would give 4 stars. But the food just is ok...

I've never eaten in here, so I can't say anything about their decor or whether their plates are trying to make a statement or not. We live close by, and Mr. and Mrs. Wok has become our go-to for Asian takeout. We first discovered it by reading reviews here on Yelp, and because of one of those reviews I ordered the Mango Chicken, even though it didn't really sound like my type of dish. It was very good, and I've had it several times since. It is not my favorite Asian food ever, or my favorite teriyaki, but it is a good, local standby for when I want some reasonable, reliable takeout. The food seems a little fresher and less greasy than standard Asian takeout. I don't know what people are talking about when they say the servings are small. Let go of your Americanized perception that every meal should be the size of a small child and you will realize that the portions here are quite adequate. It's not CHEAP, but neither is it too expensive. Take-out/delivery from traditional Chinese costs as much or more (usually more).

Terrible - just terrible. The worst food I've had anywhere in years. They actually served us a dish with frozen vegetables in it. It was supposed to be orange chicken but it came out with peas and carrots that were still frozen solid. I'm guessing the plan was for the hot chicken to melt them but the fact that they wouldn't use fresh vegetables or even bother to heat frozen vegetables in a pan before serving is really upsetting. We were one of only three tables the entire time we were there. They seen to do a lot of take out and had a lot of people picking up food to go. Besides the soggy orange chicken with vegetables, we ordered the pot stickers - which pretty much had no flavor at all and the Mongolian beef, which was basically just garlic beef. I'm shocked at all the positive reviews on yelp. There is no excuse to use frozen vegetables (especially carrots which are cheap and always in season). For parents, there is only 1 high chair.

Mr. and Mrs. Wok is Delicious! I always get takeout here, I've never dined in. The employees are friendly when I go in to pick up my order, it's the perfect place for takeout in Ballard / Greenwood / Crown Hill. The parking lot makes pick-up easy. My favorites are crab rangoon [good cranberry dipping sauce!] , chicken yakisoba, hot and spicy noodles, teriyaki [the little salad that comes with it has a tasty dressing] and chicken katsu. 'Miss Saigon' is their version of Bun, it's good too. Support your local north-end takeout place!!!!!!

Felt a bit awkward walking in on a Saturday night with there not being a soul in the place. Almost turned around and left. We stuck with it and had a very pleasant surprise. The food was wonderful, the staff exceptionally pleasant and the food presentation was way above expectations. Clean facility, well decorated with good lighting. Plates were filled with fresh veggies, firm tofu and pretty good teriyaki sauce. Jasmine tea was constantly refreshed and served in very nice traditional cups. Forget the take away - stay and enjoy the ambiance and service. We will become regulars. Check it out.

This place is a legitimate neighborhood joint, that happens to be clean and well-lighted, and that serves terrific food. If it were in a more hip neighborhood than a Holman Road strip mall, it would be overrun. The quality is really superb. Try it - you will be back.

This place is great! The teriyaki is well seasoned and has a good char flavor from the grill. The restaurant is very clean and has good service. I have ordered numerous items from the menu and everything is well prepared. The meat & veggies are always fresh and of good quality. Someone here cares about the food and it shows.

This is the teriyaki place we've been dreaming of. The food is fresh with lots of veggies. The menu is big with something for everyone. On a hot day I love their noodle salads. My daughter loves the Korean noodle dish, our 3 year old loves the teriyaki chicken and ate all of the beautiful salad that comes with it. We like their fresh spring rolls as well. My husband ordered the Korean bolgobi (sp?) and enjoys that. Yummy! It's a tad more expensive than some of the teriyaki places but the quality is much better. Based on previous reviewers we will have to try mango chicken and crab rangoon

What a gem! This is not a typical fast food teriyaki place. It's spotlessly clean, the food is fresh and beautifully presented, and the service is excellent. It's a family-run place that deserves more attention.

this place definitely lives up to it's reviews...excellent service by an older korean lady who reminded me of my mom lol...she was really helpful with the menu and didn't laugh at me too much when i orderd 2 entrees at 3PM for myself.....i couldn't decide! i had the pork bulgogi and chicken katsu...both were delicious and came with steaming rice and a nice little salad. she even came around with jasmine tea saying it takes away the bulgogi smell cuz nobody wants to smell like korean food hahah...i'll be back soon!!!!!

Good and inexpensive option for tasty Japanese food. The chicken katsu has a great crispy surface and juicy center, and the sauce is tangy without being too overpowering. The broccoli beef is also an awesome choice, and is a great mix of sauce and freshly steamed veggies. My overall favorite is the gyoza, which is great for a side. You can get carry-out or eat in, however one downside to the carry-out is that the foil they wrap it in to keep it warm can kind of rub off on the rice and make it taste slightly metallic. However, if you're eating in you're sure to get a delicious meal for lunch or dinner.

so fresh! so tasty! you can really tell there is real love and consideration put into this cooking. quality ingredients. The orange chicken was actually zesty with fresh orange flavor, the rice is the good sticky rice you expect from a quality asian joint (mind you, the uncle ben's rice that falls apart everywhere is considered junk and fed to horses in japan!), and the chicken katsu was crisp and delicious. My husband reported his shanghai noodles (basically vietnamese bun, or vermicelli rice noodles) were super tasty. They were very accommodating to his gluten sensitivity and suggested the shanghai noodles. He's often used to being disappointed with getting stuck with the gluten free option, but not this time.

Looks like this place has received some mixed reviews lately. My wife and I had a spicy noodle dish and the veggies were quite fresh and they were perfectly cooked! Still had a fresh crunch. It was better then some of the Tai dishes we've had in the Ballard area. It is a glorified teriyaki place, but I think they do a really good job.

I only went there once, so take my review with the grain of salt. I ordered the sweet and sour (I don't remember pork or chicken) to go. The sauce was so so, but when I got home (1 block of walking) to eat. It was all soggy and tough. It could have been better in the restaurant. Will update if it's any better.

If I could give it zero stars I would. I was hangry and stopped in since I was in the neighborhood and it had good yelp reviews. I ordered what turned out to be basically, birds eye frozen vegetables stir fried. I saw they had no sauce, so I asked for teriyaki sauce and got some thick honey goo. Plus, they charged me $5.50 for 3/4 of a cup of crappy veggies. I would have gone back to get a refund, but I was in a hurry. Totally disappointing...

Under stated and one of my favorite bites to enjoy. The service is always fast and pleasant. It's been owner run as long as I remember. First there is no waiting ever! The server will bring you water to hide your mouth watering over the menu items and green tea to cleanse your pallet before the main course arrives. Great selection of what I would say is "Asian Fusion"! prepared in a healthy cooking but filling at the same time. Keep in mind my wife and I will split a dish and call it a date, so it takes us a while to try the entire menu. Light weights! Keep these guys "Wok -ing" hard and in business. It's a great place to dine in or take out.

Mr and Mrs Wok we are so glad we finally stopped in. Spotlessly clean. Fast and friendly service. Teriyaki chicken breast with just the right amount of charbroil, fresh salad and decent rice. We will be back.

Quick, cheap and good. Nothing fancy, I usually just get the chicken teriyaki or something similar. It has yet to disappoint. Rice and a small side salad come with every teriyaki order.

    (4)
  • Mara W.

Ordered the spicy chicken breast teriyaki. It was alright.. however, it was WAY too spicy and there was definitely not enough teriyaki sauce. I usually have a high tolerance for spicy food. It made my dining experience sort of unpleasant.

  • Karen S.

I'm downgrading my review. We picked up Teriyaki tonight, Chicken Breast Teriyaki for me and Spicy Chicken Breast Teriyaki for my husband. This is usually a go-to dish for us, but tonight, the chicken was oddly spongy. Very strange. My husband was so hungry he ate all of his anyway, and I was iffy about eating it, but some of the chicken was actually OK so I kept eating it. But then just when I'd had a good bite, I got another piece of weird, fatty, spongy, meat. I couldn't finish it. Yuck.

The food is somewhere between good and great. Issue #1 -- they charge $0.25 for extra teriyaki sauce on a to-go order and the sauce they give you is about 1 or 2 oz. Every other Teriyaki place I ahve been to has the sauce on the tables for customers to use as much as they want. Issue #2 -- about two months ago I visited and ordered their Lunch Special - Teriyaki Bowl. I asked if it was white meat/breast meat chicken and was told that it was. When the food arrived it clearly wasn't breast meat chicken. I brought the mistake to the servers attention and she told me that breast meat chicken would be an extra charge. I would have happily paid extra ... just answer my question accurately in the first place!

Got the chicken teriyaki bento box and the katsu bento box. The size of the bento is pretty big which is always a good sign, especially for $13 it better be. Starts with miso and a salad, both weren't that good though. The miso was just the paste in water. No tofu or seaweed so the taste was very plain. The salad had some kind of nutty, sour dressing that I didn't like but the salad itself seemed pretty fresh. The dumplings that came in the box were deep fried but not enough in both boxes. They were soft and a little soggy which gave them an unpleasant texture. The egg rolls were cooked very nicely but pretty sure those are just frozen store bought ones they deep fry. The teriyaki was good, cooked well, juicy, and the sauce was nice. But the katsu was dry and soggy. I think they pound the meat and then freeze it. Then it gets pulled out and cooked when someone orders it. It had very little seasoning and didn't taste like much. No flavor plus soggy and dry made me not want to finish it. I guess I would return, just not for the katsu or dumplings. Or miso or salad... The prices are a little higher than I would expect, but overall not too bad. Had the dumplings been cooked properly and the katsu been fresh and crispy, this would definitely have been a 3.5-4 star review instead.

Looooove Mr & Mrs Wok! The food is pretty darn good and my biggest plus for this place is it's CLEAN!! You walk in and know that your food is being prepared in a clean kitchen. You can tell that they take pride in their work. My only negative is it would be nice to have a little extra teriyaki sauce on the items, but I can ask for extras, no biggie. This is my number one teriyaki spot. Num num num!

  • Katie H.

Decent menu, good food, but I'm not wow-ed enough to give them 5 stars. If you're looking for a place that serves relatively fast, delicious teriyaki, this is the place for you. It should also be noted that the staff was friendly and accommodating and the whole place was clean and homey feeling with very clean bathrooms... Overall they satisfied my teriyaki craving and that did it quickly for a decent price.

It's weird, we ordered kung pao chicken and hot & spicy yakisoba. Both were seasoned with Korean spices and sauces, the noodles were not yakisoba noodles as I'm use to. Other than these weird things the food was cooked perfectly, and I could tell that everything was very fresh. If we were to return I would make sure to order Korean as that is their specialty.

This has been one of our go-to places for quite a while. I always, always order the tofu teriyaki, and it's the best I've had. Most places offer some sort of tofu stir fry, but Mr & Mrs Wok grill the tofu, and it is SO delicious. I wish I could prepare it like that at home. There are many, many places in Seattle which claim to have the "best" Teriyaki. None of them come close to the Wok.

Buddhas plate: 4 stars (I ordered this about 8 months ago but remember really liking it). Most recently I've had: Chicken teriyaki: 4 stars (not 5 because the stir fry veggies that come with we're not very good). Mango cashew chicken: 3 stars (the texture of the sauce was too "slimy" for my taste...)

Very nice waitress and restaurant was clean. Waitress immediately brought us water and tea. We ordered the pot stickers, chicken yakisoba, chicken teriyaki and Osaka chicken. All of the dishes were delicious! Our favorite was the yakisoba! We will definitely be back when we are in the area.

I hate to give a 1 star to this restaurant - as I've really enjoyed their food and service until tonight. We've visited quite a few times before, but I probably won't be back. It is SO rude to argue with a patron and refuse to correct and incorrect order! My boyfriend called in a takeout order tonight and upon bringing it back I noticed the dish I usually get (Osaka Chicken) didn't look or taste right. The stir-fry veggies were overcooked to the point of being wilted and tasting burnt, and there was hardly any chicken in the entire dish (maybe 6 or 7 tiny bits.) He called to ask about getting another order and was told to bring it back and they would re-make it. He drove all the way back to the restaurant only to have the cook argue with him and refuse to remake the dish. The cook apparently tasted the order, claimed it was correct, blamed the lack of chicken on "their style," and refused to remake it because "he would cook it exactly the same." He said he would only cook a different dish because we "just didn't like this one." I've ordered this before and it was nothing like it was tonight - lots of chicken, fresh, steamed-like veggies. Luckily my boyfriend got them to refund the order, but that's a really easy way to lose customers.

Don't pass this classic teriyaki joint up. The food is fresh and fast--despite the steady stream of people picking up take out. I have never waited more than 5 minutes for my take out. I have eaten in too, but the location is just a basic sit down area.

I just went in there for lunch, I have a huge love for Mongolian beef so that's what I ordered, what I got is should be called "Mongolian onion" there was few pieces of beef and a pound of onion. If I really wanted to eat onions for lunch I would have went to QFC across the street and bought my self a pound for couple of cents . So if you going to call it Mongolian beef it should consist of mostly beef!! I would even be happy if it was at least half of it was beef.

I haven't tried the standard Chinese dishes, but every noodle dish I've tried has been fabulous, particularly the Miss Saigon noodles, in all varieties. We also love the Bento and usually get one to split between us, as it's a ton of food. Friendly service, though a small dining room. It's clean and the food has always been fresh and tasty.

Love this place! Shanghai noodles, pork egg rolls, stir fry veggies, curry chicken fried rice, beef and broccoli and pot stickers. All delicious! We've been here multiple times and the food is always fantastic. The family that runs the place is very friendly and always polite.

Ive been here twice. Ordered the terriyaki bowl the first time. It was good, small portion, but enough and only $5 and comes with a can of soda. The second time I ordered chicken terriyaki with eggrolls. I upgraded to fried rice ($1) instead of the white because I had read good reviews. The chicken was ok, the sauce was a little thick for terriyaki, more Bbq sauce like. The rice did not taste good, it had freezer burned pea and carrot medley and was not appetizing. Eggroll did not taste fresh, had nice crispness but sauce that came with tasted like ketchup. Disappointing for $10+

We are regulars and always order the tofu teriyaki plate (substituting fried rice for the white rice) and the yakisoba noodles with tofu. Or the grilled tofu bento which gets u edamame and other veggies with your rice and tofu. I have never had tofu prepared as they do for the tofu teriyaki (or grilled tofu bento) and wish I could replicate it. It's grilled with char black grill marks and has the associated charred taste which is fantastic with the applied teriyaki sauce. The fried rice has diced onions in it which makes it stand out from your typical fried rice with carrot/pea snorefest.

My family's favorite little Asian restaurant. Delicious food, friendly and a charming restaurant. We are big fans of the noodles, especially Garlic, the Buddhas Plate, and the crab wontons, but, everything is really good and we've tried it all. The bento box is a great deal. A great place for a date, when out with family or just to grab dinner on the way home.

Chicken teriyaki? Check! Yakisoba? Check! Great, warm service? Double check!! This is our main dinner spot when my best friend and I get together. Always super friendly service and the food is spot on! Big dishes so there's always leftovers too! Sometimes they get the order wrong on carry out orders but the quality of food overshadows any negative thoughts! Way to go Mr. & Mrs. Wok!!!

The food at this place is atrocious. It's worse than Mandarin Gate on Aurora, and that's saying something. Greasy/oily and weirdly-flavored food. I don't know what kinds of spices they used in the oily noodle thing I ordered, but it tasted peculiar. Like they used oregano or something. I'm all for changing things things up a little from traditional Americanized Chinese food flavorings, but this just tasted strange. Won't be ordering from them again, and I'm pretty baffled as to why this place has a 4 star rating.

I ordered the Crab Rangoon, Broccoli Beef and Edamame. The Crab Rangoon - fantastic! I highly recommend as an appetizer. There are 6 included and it comes with a raspberry sauce that is almost line a juice more than a sauce. But very tasty! The Broccoli Beef was delicious! The broccoli was very fresh and the meat good quality. I would order this again! The Edamame was very good. They didn't include any salt on mine, but I added on my own. It was very well cooked and fresh. I plan on going back again. Thanks to the other reviews on the Crab Rangoon. Excellent choice!

I wish I could afford to eat here every day and I wish by doing so I would not gain a ridiculous amount of weight. I daydream about their Monks noodle dish (tofu, noodles, and a TON of amazing veggies) and it's probably not good that I live so close, because I go at least 5 times a month. Really, really, really good, or, as Larry David says, "pretty, prettay, prettay good." Very pleasant staff and not at all expensive. My noodle dish is about 7 dollars. One of my favorite restaurants in Greenwood. Go. Order the Monks noodle. Have a happy tummy for the rest of day.

This isn't your usual crappy and cheap teriyaki. This is the creme de la creme. This is some high class, delicious, prepared fresh, delicious, worth the extra money teriyaki. I was seriously impressed with the food here for being a strip-mall-esque type of place in a not so fancy area of town. I absolutely loved my spicy beef teriyaki and think I shall return very soon.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
