After the Seahawks lost the Superbowl my friend and I called around to multiple sushi places to drown our sorrows in sushi and sake. This was the only place that was open on a Sunday evening and wasn't closed for the Super Bowl. They had four different types of sake. We ordered the Nigori sake with a sushi platter. Fish was not super fresh but it also did not make any of us sick the next day . The decor was more like the 19 seventies with a lot of cushy benches and booths. I would come back again if I had late night sushi cravings everywhere else is closed again.

[Used Eat24] Sushi was passable, miso was cold when it arrived. Ordered Matsu bento box, arrived without salad or sushi (which the app claimed it comes with)...called about it, evidently eat24 has an incorrect menu...but for 17 dollars, the meager amount of chicken (ordered spicy, got what I assume is regular, or the weakest spicy ever) and the soggy tempura was extraordinarily underwhelming. Chicken teriyaki was decent. Ordered ~$70 in food for 3 people, and was definitely not enough food to fill all of us. I had a lot of difficulty understanding the person on the phone when I tried to make a complaint. Will not order from again.

They *delivered* a tasty sashimi sampler to my house when I was injured and couldn't drive. The fish was really excellent and included some less comon stuff including what I thought was amberjack. At first I thought price was a bit high but pieces were large enough that I could only eat six of twelve pieces of sashimi in one sitting and then I had a second feast again for dinner. Tasty fish + huge portions + delivered promptly = five stars

In short: Regret. Longer version: We ordered off Grubhub for delivery so we could relax after work and got an estimated time of 1hour 15mins, which already seemed long but we were ok with it. At the estimated arrival time, the restaurant called and the guy said they were very busy and that traffic was terrible (why are you calling to complain to me??) and asked if it was ok that they were going to be another 30mins. We had already been charged by Grubhub so we said ok. We made some popcorn to tie us over. They did deliver within that 30min timeframe but when the food came, most of it was not what the menu described. The calamari had sweet and sour sauce drizzled all over it, instead of the side of tempura sauce as promised. This made the breading soggy and syrupy sweet. The fire dragon roll had salmon skin on top, instead of extra tuna as described. They also charge $4.99 for delivery with a minimum of $30 order. The other rolls we ordered were sub-par and expensive for simple rolls. It was $45 poorly spent and I also regret tipping, unknowingly that it would take 1hr 45mins. Lesson learned, will not patron again.

I will not bother physically stopping in at this restaurant- They may have failed at delivering over priced sub-par Unagi but I believe in second chances..sometimes delivery just plain old sucks. The food wasn't described as is and when my order was delivered it was warm at most- I wasn't more than a 10min drive away. What prompted this 1 star review: getting attacked verbally from people who are copy & pasting reviews and then attempting to raise the restaurant ratings by doing so. Come on- I'm not asking you to commit Hari Kari, what I'm asking you to do is update your descriptions of menu items. Sorry but not sorry Mori Sushi, I don't like writing one star reviews, you've left a bad taste in my mouth long after I ordered and you truly earned this one!

My sister was starving and decided to use the eat 24 app. Mori sushi was one of the options thinking it would be good. She ordered the chicken katsu, tempura roll, and unagi roll. First of all, if I could give this 0 stars I would. The wait was an hour, and took the driver 10-15 minutes to find our place. Once the food arrived, our hunger was immediately stopped by the over cooked, over breaded chicken katsu. Seriously some parts of the chicken were so overcooked, it was inedible. The sushi was mediocre. I would have better luck getting sushi at my local QFC store and that's saying a lot. I don't tend to write reviews so negatively but the food was really disappointing.

I don't often write reviews (this is my 3rd in 5 yrs), but I needed to do this to warn my fellow man. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I placed an order today for delivery that cost over $90. The delivery took about 1.5 hours, but that was no so bad compared to the food I got. Definitely the WORST sushi I've ever had, and I've been eating sushi in Seattle since Hana on Broadway delivered their sushi to your table on those little boats (yeah, a LONG TIME AGO, before sushi became mainstream). And for god's sake DO NOT EVER ORDER THE $12.95 TONGKATSU RAMEN (I made the mistake of ordering two). You will not know where the soup ends and where the noodles start. The Tongkatsu broth was goopy thick and tasted like top ramen flavored goo while the noodles were so soggy and mushy they literally melted off my chopsticks before I could even get a noodle in my mouth. The noodles that I did manage to get into my mouth melted like cotton candy, GROSS. This place is way over-priced for what you get - worse than supermarket sushi. The rice was pasty and disgusting. I also ordered the skinny girl roll, which is rolled with cucumber instead of seaweed with sashimi cuts inside and no rice. The cucumber "wrap" was a joke (about 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick around) and just shows the lack of culinary skill (or dull knives) at that restaurant. I can't believe they even put that roll on the menu. My 7 yr old daughter can cut cucumbers better. Just don't do it. Order from I Love Sushi on Lake Union if you need sushi delivered.

Impressively bad, I did a delivery order through Yelp via Eat24. After an hour I called to check on the order and the girl said it was on the way. I called again 25 minutes later ( it's two blocks from my house) and I spoke with a man who said they had no record of my order. No apology just " no conformation code, no delivery". I've ordered from them before and I don't mind waiting but this was ridiculous.

    (1)
  • Kristin L.

Wish I could say something good about their food, but after waiting over an hour (the expected delivery time), we got a call saying they were going to be late. Another half hour later, a second call saying the driver was going to be a while still. Never once did they offer to comp our food or anything of the like, no real apology. Just no food. And we ordered at around 2:30 on a Friday (far from peak hours). Completely ridiculous. Don't offer delivery if you can't deliver. Now I'm hangry and left with little recourse other than writing this review.

The employees are really nice but the quality of fish has gone downhill with the new owners. The prices are just too high for the quality.

    (3)
  • Jennifer C.

I can see why they offer 10% for good reviews, cause that's probably the only way they get them. The Katsu was poor quality chicken, overdone and a small portion. We got 2 basic sushi rolls that were ok. But after I saw the restroom, I really do not recommend ordering any raw fish at this place. Really, make some toilet paper available and clean the bathroom. On top of the mediocre food and horrible lack of cleanliness, the menu was extremely over-priced for what you get. The guy that made our food was nice, that's about the only good thing I can say about the experience. I wish we'd have just gone across the street to the Fred Meyer sushi counter, bought something, and gone home and spent $15 instead of $40.

I've lived behind Mori's for years. You couldn't pay me to eat there. There was a huge dead rat in the air vent to the kitchen for the entire summer of 2012. Link to King County restaurant inspections for Mori's: info.kingcounty.gov/heal…

High prices for not very much food. It took a long time for our food to be delivered. Very rude new owner that writes good reviews about the restaurant to keep a good rating instead of making the restaurant better.

  • Omeury A.

I placed an order that was almost 50$ for one person for delivery because the have a min amount that you need to spent for them to deliver, any ways I placed my order because I was craving sushi really bad and I was at work and unable to go grab some, they took one hour and 20 minutes to deliver my order, when I finally got my order, I asked the delivery guy if it was that they were busy? He said "we're busy everyday lady" I looked at him and signed the receipt, sat down to eat and my salad it's rusty the food it's cold, the gyoza that I order are disgusting, soggy and have no tasted at all, I the shrimp tempura was so cold that I was afraid to eat it. I don't want to get sick. A bad experience in general. I just wish I never even placed an order with them, especially since it was as expensive as it was...

Had been our "go to" place for a while, looks like we've been coming here since 2007. New ownership and sadly misses the spot in so many ways. Sushi "chef" needed help on figuring out what was being ordered, that was a bit scary. He didn't know what types of sushi were suppose to go on the bento boxes/combo meals. Prices have gone up and size of the portions have gone down. Okay service, but they still served crappy tea, there is no excuse for that.

    (2)
  • Seattle Y.

The food here was very unappetizing. The chicken teriyaki was not good at all. Even the rice tasted off. Uncle Ben's perhaps? It wouldn't have been so bad, but for $12, it should taste a little better than blah.

    (1)
  • Justin H.

I don't feel like posting what I ordered. Leaving a distinctive, negative Yelp review seems like enough to get a hit put out on you in this area. I'll just say that my experience here was kind of sad. The lack of skill in food preparation, presentation and creating an experience for a customer was not only not present, but it reeked of depression, perhaps desperation. I did notice that they deliver, which is perhaps the only avenue to me ever being a repeat customer here.

Slow, slow service. Worn out edamame and flavorless mushy sockeye salmon. Cheapest wooden chopsticks. Soft pop jazz. Whatever.

  • Jeremiah J.

After ownership changed (2014), the food isn't quite as good and the prices have increased quite a bit. Go elsewhere if you want more bang for your buck.

FRESSSHHH FISSHHHH Seriously though - I know I'm kinda "American" when it comes to my love for sushi and my "inability" to separate GOOD sushi from GREAT sushi but honestly, if the fish is fresh and the rice is done well... I'm going to love it. Mori qualifies and then some. We shared the sushi and sashimi combo, we ate every bite, and I sat for a good five minutes contemplating a second round. Surprisingly, I actually loved their salmon the most (I'm usually a tuna lover *twss*) but everything that I tried was very enjoyable. I also appreciated the cuts of fish which were teetering on the edge of too big but not quite so much that you can't fit it all in one lovely bite. Occasionally, Grace is right. Mori is awesome.

Just received our delivery order a few minutes ago. This was our first time getting food from Mori, and it was pretty bad. Good news, they did delivery pretty quickly, and were very nice. We spent $35 on a light meal and got both not what we ordered and less than enough food for one person :( We ordered: Crispy Unagi: This was actually pretty great. Still crispy after delivery, good spicy tuna on top, tasty with avocado. However it is $8.50 for a single bite! Nowhere near worth the price, we split the tiny single piece of unagi, and it left us hungry. Tuna Poke: Good first bite, but was almost all pickled onions and soggy rice with no tuna after that. This was $13 and was a tiny 3" rice patty with barely anything on top. Spicy Hamachi Roll: We ordered the spicy hamachi.... but that's not what was delivered. We got some unknown fish roll that was pink in the center with greying edges. Not spicy...didn't taste like anything...and not what we ordered. Extremely underwhelmed overall. Wasn't enough food for one person, and was obscenely expensive for how tiny the servings were compared to any other Japanese restaurant in the area. We likely wont order from there again.

Ordered using Eat24 app, they called and confirmed my address and that they received my order, then they got so lost delivering that it took over 2 hours to get here. I live 15 minutes from their restaurant. When it got here all the tempura battered rolls were cold and not very good. Over all, very disappointing.

Incredible food, speedy delivery, friendly staff from order to delivery. I am new to Seattle, but I know I will be spending many evenings as a patron of this delicious establishment. grubhub.com/seattle/mori…

Apparently Mori retired a few months ago. The new staff is nice but awkward, and the food quality just isn't what it used to be. The katsudon was okay but not right, and the rest of the food was just okay. I'm sad that my old favorite place isn't as good anymore, but I guess all good things come to an end.

Mori wins a lot because they deliver. Now, normally the hub and I do enjoy a leisurely dine-out experience and especially if we're eating sushi, but some nights you really don't want to move and you want food brought to your face by someone with a food handlers permit. Quick research resulted in Mori, which we saw a few weeks ago when visiting their comic book store neighbor. We took a chance on a delivery order because we really really really really did not want to leave (our usual sushi to-go place is about a 15mins drive). Two chirashi bowls were quoted at just over $30 and delivery in 30mins. Food arrived just as promised and it was GREAT! It was a bowl of multi-colored and wonderful, tasty things, so many treasures---some seaweed salad, octopus, pickled/crunchy veggie things, several varieties of sashimi, tamago, and mashed potato-y type thing (which was good) over a bed of rice. We were both extremely happy and completely full. This is kind of dangerous though. Now that we know about Mori, we may be ordering from them often.

  • Chris R.

So, yeah. Don't bother with the sushi here. It isn't BAD, but... It really isn't good enough to warrant what they're charging for it. If you want sushi you can get the same quality a fair bit cheaper elsewhere. Or you can spend the same money and get much better fish. The sukiyaki is usually all right -- but it seriously seems like eating at two different restaurants. Sometimes it is really sweet, almost too sweet. Other times it is too salty. The portion is pretty small to boot. Their yakisoba is actually pretty yummy, and so is the ramen. The teriyaki is also pretty good.

This is a sad, sad day, and a major slap in the face. I live 2.5 miles away from this place (NOT as the crow flies, but via Google Maps driving directions) & they refused to deliver to me because I'm "too far" (after saying that they only deliver "within 3 miles". Even funnier? Their website says they deliver within ***7*** miles of their restaurant. And I'm 2.5 miles away, but apparently that's too much. Wow. Just...wow. Maybe this would be less upsetting if I hadn't been a consistent, loyal customer for two years, but...I HAVE been that long-term loyal customer, despite their lack of consistency/quality. I continued to order even after their increases in their prices, just not as regularly as before. I appreciated that there was delivery sushi available, period, so I supported them the few times I ordered delivery because I just crave sushi that much from time to time. This is just unacceptable. DO NOT support restaurants that not only LIE about their delivery area but do this sort of disservice to a long-term, loyal customer.

Looking for a sushi spot that was open at 330pm was a challenge. Most of them opened at 5pm so we did not have much selection. We should have figured that a sushi restaurant open all day was compensating for something. We walked in and it looked like a normal hole in the wall spot, but we were the only ones in there! We're brave though, we sat down lol. The menu had hand-written prices. We ordered the rainbow roll and was very disappointed. The yellow tail looked brown and not fresh. Hesitated to eat it. The miso soup was cold. We love sushi but this place was a big disappointment...

If I could do 4.5 I would. This place had great food, though I just got it for delivery. My sister is vegetarian, so we got two veggie rolls (oh my god, so delicious. Convinced me that veggie sushi might be amazeballs and now I'm more open to it!) --- they had pickled radish, lettuce, avocado, cucumber, and maybe something else. The textures were perfect. The delivery was fairly prompt, took about 40 minutes of the hour they'd said. The girl couldn't find the place (we're downstairs) so I went out to get it; she was super adorable and nice. We also got some veggie tempura (delicious), seaweed salad, extra miso, and some tuna nigiri for me. The tuna was pretty fresh. I dig. My favorite part was the rolls and that THEY DELIVER. Also the price. $32 fed the both of us PERFECTLY SUPER FULL. Loves it. Will order again. :)

  • Alison D.

They gave me cold miso soup. I don't think I need to say more than that but I will. The atmosphere inside isn't great. They are open later which is nice but their nigiri was average at best. Service was slow and we were the only two people there.

    (1)
  • Opal D.

There was a young female employee doing her makeup in the mirror and seeming very unprofessional and wearing a scowl on her face like she didn't want to be there. The servings of fish are smaller than most sushi joints in town, and the amount of rice a little larger than I'm used to. The seaweed salad was also smaller than most sushi places would serve. For those two reasons, I will probably not be back anytime soon!

    (1)
  • Adam H.

Have been here twice, and probably won't go back. Content that I gave them a decent chance. The tuna sashimi I had was clearly previously frozen and the rolls I ordered looked like they were just thrown together. Overly expensive for what you get.

OMG, the saddest update I've ever written. Don't walk, RUN away from this place!!! It's true, Mori & crew are long-gone, and the place just sucks now. How can you screw up sukiyaki, that old-timey "I'm too scared of raw fish!" standby that people used to, well, stand by? It was just gross. Our server looked embarrassed. Glad we weren't hungry enough to get sushi with it. This was just so nasty. I couldn't write this review last night, I was too upset. They've upped their social media game, which Mori never did, and the pictures are pretty - but YUCK!!!

I ordered the spicy tuna, yellowtail scallion (they gladly added the jalapeño I requested) and a spider roll. It was all very fresh and I love they deliver (courteous and within time promised). I highly recommend.

For sushi, Seattle has so many restaurants from which to choose. Many, like Umi, stand out by breaking convention and reinventing the genre with imagination and fusion. But at the heart of sushi is fish, simple and unadorned. That's actually part of the bedrock of Japanese culture: take something simple, in its original state, and elevate that to an art. That's precisely what you find at Mori. Fish that melts in your mouth, sometimes almost sweet, always luxurious. The best uni I've had in Seattle. And if it's not fresh, it's not served. You'll never have a bad cut, and may be surprised by off-menu items once you've been there a few times. The exterior and interior are modest, yet hospitable. The location is probably out of the way. But for a native who's lived here for over 35 years, and who's been to Japan, I can honestly say that this is an extraordinary place for sushi -- rare even by Japanese standards. We're lucky to have such great fisheries and such a small population here in the PNW. And the chef knows his craft. So, make an effort to get out to 85th, and get down to basics. If you've never had a transcendent sushi experience, Mori is where you'll find it.

  • Thomas J.

Mori's is ALWAYS doing business; I have never been in on a "dead" night. Their sushi is made fresh to order, and they have an open-air kitchen that lets you see the amount of work that goes into it. I really like their katsu as well (not greasy!) and tried their udon for the first time on my latest visit. It stacks up against my favorite udon place in the U-District, but I really love that Mori has all kinds of Japanese favorites on their menu. Having lived in the Tokyo area for over 3 years, I have had some good sushi and can be picky about it back here in North America. I give top marks to Mori's in Greenwood and will be a frequent supporter of this local business!

This is partly my fault for having such poor judgment to order take out/delivery sushi in the first place... but man, I just tossed out almost my entire order (all while having a text book case of the munchies. Not even that was enough) It was not edible. It took about an hour to arrive. Moderately frantic, terse service on the phone while trying to order that made me feel like a bummer of a person for what was probably not ordering the right way. My, what I think was miso soup, was cold. And sad. Oh so sad. The tuna nigiri had strange blood clot like blobs in it as well as a brownish hue on the tops. It felt and looked like it has been previously frozen. The tuna roll was about 85% rice. Definitely not skimpy on the rice. How nice of them. Rice rolls it is. The only part of the order that was kinda sorta edible was the California roll. After two pieces though, I realized oh wait it does suck, and in it went into the trash to party with the other shitty rolls. This all cost me $26 with tip. It's probably going to cost me even more later on when I have to go the store for Pepto-Bismal and more toilet paper.

Probably one of the best sushi experiences I've ever had in Seattle...melt in your mouth fish, super fresh, and a friendly owner who will just make you something special if you don't want to order off the menu. Such an outstanding restaurant, that it's disappointing that on the outside the place looks like you don't want to go in...but it will not disappoint. All they need to do is get rid of the dark windows, and I think more people would come in there! Get there after work on a Friday and Saturday for the freshest catch!

Go Mori, it's your birthday We gonna party like it's yo birthday We gon' sip sake like it's yo birthday And you know we don't give a fuck it's not yo birthday. You can find me in the hub of sushi and grub Yeah Mori, its effects are akin to takin' drugs I'm into havin' sex with sashimi that I love So I'm givin' you a plug if you're into gettin' rubbed... Yeah, this place is right down the street from where my boyfriend* and I live, so we went there last night to check it out. We got the sushi dinner for two, and it was pretty badass. Little lemon slices on the salmon nigiri? That's some fancy eatin' right there, dude. Also? One of the staff came out and moved us to a booth so we could sit side-by-side** instead of across from each other (aw), and then someone else swooped in to give my boyfriend some chopstick lessons. I mean, he's been using them for years, but he comes from humble roots. (I could use some, too, but I was busy texting my sister*** and escaped notice. Anyway, I just eat sushi with my fingers like a civilized person.) The waitress was dressed really cute. I liked that sleeveless cardigan thing, girl. You work it, girl. * Come home and cuddle with me, please. I'm so lonely that I'm rapping reviews to a sushi joint on Yelp. ** He was clearly sending you a message *** She might read this, so I refrained from telling my boyfriend what he should really do when he gets home. (Sorry, Dad.)

Favorite Sushi restaurant in Seattle! Reasons: 1. Cuts of sashimi are always thick and generous. 2. Ambiance is welcoming and unpretentious. 3. Food is presented beautifully like a piece of art. And the hosts are very amicable. Chirashi is our default favorite dish. I was first caught by its arrangement, which is overflowing and looks absolutely delicious. One day we decided to try the Sushi & Sashimi Combo for Two. It came out to be a feast. Also very well presented. Fresh fish and thick cuts, great variety on the bamboo platter. We were very delighted.

First time going here. They close at 10 pm... I walked in at 9 pm and there was absolutely NO customers... Red flag #1.. We order our food, then 10 mins later we here a microwave beeping and they brought our appetizer out to us.. Red flag #2.. A few mins later the microwave beeps again then our "teriyaki chicken" was on it's way to our table. Red flag #3.. Who the f#*! microwaves chicken and feeds it to their customers?!?! Anyway, later that night i was throwing up and needless to say i will NOT be going back.

I ordered a pick up order from here the other night and the staff was very friendly and even gave me complimentary hot tea while I was waiting. The food was better than I expected and tasted very fresh. I would never have gone there based on the exterior but I would definitely eat there again!

Mori is our go-to sushi restaurant. Even though we've moved away from the neighborhood, driving through Greenwood is a good excuse to stop there. We usually do take-out and mainly sashimi, which is the best. Always friendly. PS the Unagi is to die for.

Being a relative newcomer to Seattle, I'm still looking for "my" sushi bar - the place where I go regularly enough that the owner recognizes me on sight, remembers my preferences, and maybe sends over some complimentary tidbits now and then. From what I'd heard, Mori Japanese Restaurant is that kind of place, but maybe that potential for a long-term relationship isn't something you can sense from just one dinner together. We actually went here because it was close to the Taproot Theater, where we were seeing a show, and thought it would be a convenient dinner spot beforehand. They do offer free delivery with a minimum $15 order, but I'm assuming there's a limited delivery area and it probably doesn't include West Seattle, where I live. The restaurant doesn't look all that fancy from the outside - it seems to be a repurposed office building or something - and the layout is a bit funky on the inside. An odd little foyer when you first come in holds a splashy little fountain and rock arrangement, with a second set of doors that leads to the actual restaurant, but it has a sort of tacked-on feel. Inside, the restaurant is spacious and brightly lit, with warm wooden tables and fixtures. It doesn't have a lot of ambience and would not be a romantic place for a date. The prices seem pretty typical - nigiri sushi runs from $3-6, with maki rolls from $4-12 and combos from $12-19. Noodles and other entrees range from $7-24. They offer bento combos, tempura and teriyaki, udon and yakisoba - all the usuals, at typical prices. We were feeling wild and ordered a special-of-the-day combo with something like 13 kinds of sushi ($45 for two), to try a bunch of different things. The miso was fine but not remarkable; the rice was just okay, and I never like the green salad that accompanies sushi (or more specifically, the icky mayo dressing), so I avoid it. The unagi was good, as was the tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and shrimp. The spicy tuna roll was good, and we especially liked an unusual inside-out maki roll that used cucumber slices as the "rice" outside the nori. On a midweek evening, only a few other tables were occupied, and service was quick and friendly. Aside from the kind of blah atmosphere, there was nothing wrong with the place, and yet I feel strangely indifferent about it. I guess it just didn't do anything different or special that really made me want to go to the trouble of driving across town just to go there. For the same price, I'd rather get the amazing five-course "chef's choice" meal at Mashiko and enjoy their slick urban decor and tongue-in-cheek sushi-snobbery - and be just a few minutes away from home afterward. Sorry, Mori, I just don't think we're right for each other.

Never really had a bad meal here, Mori knows what he's doing. Our favorite lately is the Sushi and Sashimi combo for 2, it was divine, and the fish were oh so fresh. Quite a work of art too, everything looked so pretty. Yes this place doesn't look like much on the outside, and the inside is not fancy schmancy like other joints, but that doesn't matter to us when we're getting awesome fresh sushi. Some people complain that it takes a long time, but Mori is good at what he does, and he's a perfectionist. So just sit back, relax, listen to the background jazz and chill. They're family run and very nice. Honestly...the only way to enjoy sushi is to dine in, I don't understand why people would complain about their sushi delivery. You gotta think about the texture changes after it's prepared, and it's also facing a variety of elements once it's on the way to a person's place. Water and tea are usually refilled promptly. Nice place, nice family, awesome sushi.

The sushi was ok. The wait staff was friendly. The price of a bento box was way too expensive. I'm picky about my Udon and this one didn't do it for me.

This restaurant was in every way amazing. They had been closed for at least 15 mins but invited me and my friend in anyway. The service was incredibly polite even though it was past hours and no lie we were there for about an hour and a half! We had beers appetizers and deluxe sashimi for under 50$! And it was delicious. Oh and they deliver :)

I've only been here once and the food was decent -- not the best sushi ever, but still good. I would be happier if they had more vegan options. The place doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's fine inside, although not particularly glamorous. But, the big news here is that they deliver. I fully intend to make them my go-to sushi delivery option (because I don't know any other sushi places that deliver)!

I've been to Mori few times because it's not far my house and they have katsudon. Their katsudon is very good. It comes with miso soup and price is less than $10. That's a good deal. But I give Mori only 3 starts for the following reasons. 1. Service is not attentive. 2. They forget to bring stuff. For example, when I ordered two miso soups, only one came. Also Salmon Kama should come with daikon but they forgot to add daikon. :( 3. Last time I was there I saw a long hair in my miso soup. :( :( 4. Katsudon is good but everything else is below average and over priced. I will continue going to Mori though.... because I love their katsudon.

Delivery review (the regular driver is so friendly!), so no thoughts on sushi - only Japanese entrees. The udon and ramen dishes have a salty, full-flavored broth and the tempora and katsu are crispy and light - even with a decent delivery time.

Possibly a 4 star. We had the yellow fin something and the smoked salmon sushi along with lots of rice wine. It was a nice evening.

What a GREAT restaurant! Might not look like much from the outside and in fact, might be a little creepy from first glance but the workers, food and prices make up for that in a big way! We came here on Saturday night with a couple friends and decided to just order a ton of food and share everything. The head chef Mori spent a lot of time at our table, shootin' the breeze and getting us familiar with their menu. We basically left the decision making in his hands and said "just give us something good"! Mori did not disappoint. All the fish he brought us was so fresh and delicious. Although the restaurant was kind of a dump, everything else made up for that. The highlight of the night is when Mori came over to my husband and our friend and cracked open an Ostrich egg into their beers. He winked at us ladies and said that would give them lots of strength! Classic :)

We really enjoy Mori, both delivery and eating in the restaurant. The staff are great too. Tonight we had maki rolls and tonkatsu and gyoza, our usual stuff with lots of sake. It made for a nice start to our evening.

Mori is your run of the mill sushi Restaurant. The sushi that we ordered was delicious, it was prepared and served reasonably quickly (although there were only 2-3 other couples dining while we were there), the service was attentive, and the prices were reasonable. My only complaint would be about the general ambiance of the restaurant. It felt a little cold temperature-wise and the furniture/interior aesthetics seemed cheap. Overall, what they lack in ambiance, they deliver in quality of food for the price you pay.

I went to Mori Sushi in Ballard back in October 2011 after reading its good Yelp reviews. I should have been forewarned when I saw the sign in the front window saying they would give a discount to those who wrote a positive review on Yelp and brought in a hard copy of the review to prove it. There were about 8 other customers in the place when I was there. I remember feeling like I was interrupting the wait staff from something important rather than being served by them. I ordered some kind of beef and it was horrible. The rice bowl was half filled and actually looked half eaten. I waited for someone to come back around so I could ask for it to be filled but I finally had to get up and walk over to the server (the restaurant was not busy). The entire experience was unpleasant. I left there knowing I would never go back.

It's hard to believe this is the same Mori's whose food we've been eating and enjoying for years. What with one thing and another, we hadn't eaten there for quite a while. We ordered some delivered tonight, and it was worse than third rate. The tamago was overdone, and the eggs hadn't been properly whipped before cooking. The oshitashi, which used to be crunchy and delicious was overcooked and bland. I could have made better here at home. My favorite, the Seattle Maki in almost no way resembled the melt-in-your-mouth, maki roll I expected. The fish tasted old, and the rice wouldn't hold together. My cat said the fish was all right, but she's a cat. I figured that anybody could have an off night, but reading some of the other reviews, I am confirmed in my suspicion that this is not the same Mori's we have loved for so long, and we will never eat their food again. That's sad, but there's no point paying for crud.

K so, as background, I've been going to Mori since I was a wee child -- easily more than ten years. My cousins Emily C. and Suzanna C. grew up just a couple blocks away... so we went to Mori for lunch on more than one occasion. It was my "first" Japanese restaurant -- where I first ventured beyond the California roll and teriyaki platter. I love Mori. When I was in high school, I was president of our school's Japanese club... back in the day, we used to go to Yoshinobo in the I.D. annually for a Japanese class field trip, so, we had planned our Japanese club field trip to the same place. Much to our dismay when we found out they had closed [RIP], we had to come up with a easy-bus-commute-from-Blanchet [on 85th & Wallingford] restaurant that the entire Japanese club could pile in to. Yep, Mori was that place. They couldn't have been more accommodating to have a party of 20 nerdy kids unattended by adults, many of whom were trying sushi for the first time. That's when I knew my love for Mori was not just an idealized and nostalgic childhood love affair, but the true thing. Went there yesterday for lunch... and it's just the way I remember it. Still fabulous, still one of my favorite places to get a reasonably priced lunch of Japanese food to nom on.

I used to go to Mori when I lived in Blue Ridge a decade ago. I went back and was dissapointed to see a sign hanging on the front door that said WRITE A FAVORABLE REVIEW ON YELP AND BRING IT TO US TO RECEIVE A 10% DISCOUNT ON YOUR ORDER. So now I don't know if one can trust what is written as I understand this has been a standing offer for some time now. This is the kind of manipulation that destroys sites like Yelp and attempts to create a better business by tricking prospective clients into thinking the food is better than it really is. I am sorry and saddened to say, the dinner was not good either. No 10% discount for me by the way.

Living close, I really wanted to like this place. I did not. Sushi rice was mushy, wasabi mild, and the fish just didn't taste fresh. I was hoping for at least conveyor belt quality sushi; what I got was grocery store quality sushi. And to top it off, the sushi chef was screaming at the hostess the entire time. "You so stupid....no brains, all ass". Very unprofessional. Overall, this place is short on taste in every way.

Wow! The first time I ate at Mori, years ago, I completely wrote it off as "too expensive, move on". I finally went back last night and was so impressed with the quality (and quantity! I had to get a to-go box, that doesn't happen often with sushi!) of the food. I got the sushi and sashimi combo for one, every single piece of fish was incredible: great quality and so delicious! It's still pretty pricey for sushi/sashimi, though. It is Red Fin expensive, but, dare I say, much better quality and more fish! There are also plenty of other selections, and non-sushi items that are less expensive. It might not be the place for a classy date, but the food is fantastic, even if it is on the expensive side.

Awesome! This is our favorite sushi spot in Seattle! The sushi is great - fresh, yummy, and tastefully made. They have a few secrets that are great to know: 1.They carry gluten free soy sauce - just ask for it :) 2.They have a plum wine with sake drink which I get every time. 3.If you haven't tried it I recommend the Mori Maki which has the best cuts all in one roll: salmon, white tuna, and maguro. The staff is wonderful - they remember us every time, and we are always greeted with smiles. It's laid back, family friendly, and a great neighborhood spot to get to know. We never feel rushed, and we always feel welcome.

What I love about this place is that it doesn't pretend to be The Next Big Thing in sushi. It's where I go when I want good, basic sushi. That's what Mori and his family do best. You want the extreme fusion roll? Go to one of those hip new sushi joints in Ballard. You want sushi done by a Japanese man who prefers to serve a traditional sushi? Then come here. There's a reason this place has been around forever, and it's because while hip, trendy sushi joints are a dime a dozen, Mori's is around to stay. Service is usually prompt and less so on nights they're slammed, but who hasn't had slow service when a restaurant's slammed? Mori's does a brisk business in takeout, so don't be fooled by the lack of diners at tables. If you become a regular, Mori will remember you...even if it's been three months since you were last in. Parking: be warned, there's six narrow spots in front of the restaurant, plus a few in back of the building. Some folks park across the street at Fred Meyer but I've seen signs go up basically saying if you're not shopping at Fred's or the market you need to park elsewhere.

Finding a Japanese restaurant that delivers is like finding a needle in a haystack when you consider how many Japanese restaurants are in Seattle and how few of them deliver...I will guess just this one. I understand why delivery isn't the best medium for sushi but if you limit your delivery area and ensure everything is transported quickly and efficiently then I think you would find many people ordering Japanese delivery all the time. With that being said I was ELATED to find out that Mori delivered to my friends house in the Greenwood area. As soon as I found out I ordered a selection of my favorite Japanese staples and waited with much anticipation. The driver did get lost but that was because when I said "first" the lady on the other end heard "fourth" and you can guess what happened from there. Soon enough he found me and delivered the goods. Hot food was hot and cold food was cold. He had forgotten to bring the dipping sauce for my zaru soba and was kind enough to come back and drop it off without me even calling to complain. The sushi was fresh, the chicken karaage tasted exactly how it should have, the zaru soba was a little over cooked but that is to be expected when you have warm noodles sitting in a to go container. Based on food alone I wanted to give this place a 3. The food is what you would expect of a good Japanese restaurant and it seemed a little overpriced. But given the fact that they deliver gave them one extra star and Mori is now on my list of favorite Japanese restaurants.

Mediocre food. Neglectful service, Annoying lighting. A group of five of us were there this week and none of us would put Mori on our list of places to return to. One thing to be said on the positive side is that the place was not loud; unlike many restaurants and bars these days, we could actually carry on conversations easily.

Returned to Mori's for Valentine's Day and once again I have to go 5 stars! We sat at the bar tonight to try out their bar specials and I think I could have eaten about 4 orders of the yellow tail special and another four of the Super White Tuna. Unbelievable! Thank you Mori! A neighborhood treasure!

Great fresh sushi...chef really knows his stuff...and they DELIVER! best sushi north of Queen Ann for sure. Ambiance could use a little help but the food MORE than makes up for it! For a better experience, go sit at the Sushi bar and ask the chef for his specials and favorites...a little pricey but super yummy delish!

The pros: 1. GREAT SUSHI DELIVERY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First of all, I love great sushi. It's hard to come by a fantastic sushi restaurant, as as Mori isn't ***FANTASTIC***, it's still pretty damn great. 2. Service is *always* prompt, courteous, and yummy yummy yummy! 3. Nice choice of Specials 4. Reasonable prices - you can get a lot for $40.00 5. Alcohol-friendly 6. Nice website design - easy to navigate. 7. Not Blue C Sushi - traditional sushi by family owned business. The Cons: 1. The prices are not listed on the homepage. 2. They don't tell you your total when you call in an order - you have to ask for it. 3. They don't give you an ETA of delivery - you have to ask for it.

Average Japanese joint. This is a middle-of-the-road Seattle Japanese restaurant. Nothing out of the ordinary. Regular menu. The sushi is edible but nothing special. It's not bad, but for the price you could do better. The food was slow. The atmosphere is a little run down. I will say that the people were really nice and friendly.

I really like the food here, and the staff is always very friendly. It's a great little family restaurant. And I agree with "Lucy S". I would give it 5 stars but it seems just a little more expensive than it should be. Other than that I don't really have any complaints about it. I really like the Sukiyaki, if you want to get it though...order it right away because it take a while.

I have been coming here for years and have introduced many people to the awesomeness that is Mori. The service is always good. I always feel very welcome upon first entering and there is always room, i don't think i have ever had to wait. The food is amazing, from the gyoza or tempura to the spicy tuna rolls. I love it all. plus it all comes quickly.

The good: -service. They love kids, and the chef came out and told my son if he ate all his sushi he would get a prize. My son didn't like the first prize he gave him, so he came out with a second one. They seemed like jolly sweet folks. -tamago. Served just the way a like it...a big slab of egg with a slice of rice in the middle. -vegetable korokee. yum! The decent: -dining partner said the sushi combo was plentiful and the choices of fish were quite tasty. The ugly: -the kitsune I had was....unremarkable. I ate it, but I don't remember anything else about it besides that it was unmemorable. If I go back I'll try something else. -not a lot of options for vegetarians...most of the soups have seafood based broths. -the bathrooms. HOO BOY. I'll go back for basic sushi and because it's close. But I'm taking a shower when I get home. I waiver between 2 and 3 stars...hopefully I can update this review at a later date with more starz.

Oh, Mori. I didn't want to write a negative review for you, and in fact, I would love to leave you 5 stars. There was a time in which Mori Japanese Restaurant would merit those stars, too. But lately it has gone downhill, and the quality of delivery has left me yearning more. The pot stickers the last two times were cold and greasy inedible bits, the curry had almost all potatoes and no chicken as requested, and the rice was mushy and overcooked. I ordered again a few months later, hoping it was just a bad day, but it was similar fair. The teriyaki was dry, the shrimp was half-frozen. Mori used to be my top place for delivery, but either they got a new chef, or a bad delivery boy. Either/or, save your money and go get real sushi at a real sushi bar versus delivery.

My family and I have been to Mori's dozens of times over the years and are almost always very satisfied. It is usually not busy and the service is fast. Maybe once or twice it has been busy and it was unusually slow, but that has been rare. We always see the same people working there. They have their standard menu and then they have special rolls that they write on a white board. We usually get a few of these, and some appetizers. My dad loves the green mussels, and I love the shitaki batayake and the fried tofu. Took a group here to celebrate when my husband graduated college and everything went really well. The prices seem pretty reasonable for sushi. It is not as fancy or pretentious on the inside as some sushi places, just a very comfortable atmosphere.

  • Kelly S.

Meh. Sometimes it can be very good if you go in and eat inside. But the interior needs some sprucing. It is a cool idea to order sushi for delivery, but in practice, it can end up kind of gross. Best option.. is to pick up. Go in and order. The sushi chef there will sometimes take your order and suggest new things or specials. Usually anytime this happens, the sushi we get is fantastic.

I went for a friend's birthday dinner, and they were so nice and were able to accommodate to our requests for sake bombs (fyi - they only serve beer and sake). and kept a cake that was brought in earlier in the fridge for us. Service was a little slow, but probably because there was about 15 of us. Food-wise, I was really impressed with the variety and the quality. I am not usually in the mood for tempura but I ordered it and really enjoyed it. The eel maki I ordered on the side was also good (6-8 pieces?). I was stuffed and it was about $20 including tip. There's a parking lot and ample street parking. I saved a menu so I can order delivery, although doubt they serve to my neighborhood :(

DELIVERY SUSHI IS THE BEST INVENTION EVER! One of the only things I've missed since moving here from Chicago has been the availability of sushi-by-delivery. My recent discovery of Mori has alleviated my grief. I should note now that I haven't actually ever BEEN to Mori, I have only had their delivery. As such, please consider this review with that in mind. As for delivery, you really can't beat Mori. I will acknowledge that it isn't the best sushi I have ever had, but it is certainly quite good, and WAY more than reasonably priced for the quality. Consider: good sushi at $5-9 per roll! You can (I have) order a fully acceptable sushi dinner for 2 at little more cost than ordering a pizza! Moreover? They're constantly tossing in extra little bowls of miso...tasty, tasty miso, and their delivery is muy, muy rapido! Really, I can't say enough good things about Mori. Order, order, order from Mori! Eat more Mori! Om-nom-nom-nom-nom!!

  • Anastasia N.

So, the ONLY reason I tried this place is because they deliver, and yes they might not be the greatest sushi restaurant in Seattle but they are good! Good enough for me and I am kinda of a total recent sushi snob. The delivery is fast my eel was still nice warm and yummy. Once I check it out in person I will revise, but for now I will continue to order delivery and enjoy mah sushi!

Why do I keep straying away from my fave sushi spots...ugh. This place was disappointing. The hamachi sashimi was weird..almost stringy in texture, not the usual almost melt in your mouth kind. My salmon rolls had pieces of that really dark gray/brown salmon fat in it..ew. We tried a few other rolls, I cant even remember the names cuz they were underwhelming. Oh and they have slow service. Not coming back.

GF is a big Japanese food fan, so we tried this place since it was in the neighborhood and it was really delicious. We both had entrees rather than sushi and they were both great. Very filling and tasty. The place itself isn't much, but most of Greenwood around 85th is on the shabby side anyway. This place doesn't have much in the way of parking, but plenty of street parking in the neighborhood behind the building. The staff was very friendly and gracious, which I don't see a lot of in Seattle (that freeze thing).

  • Will F.

Having read the Yelp reviews, I was disappointed. The atmosphere is poor, and the Sushi is just fair. Not bad, but fair. On the other hand, the service is very good. I may try them for delivery anyway since I'm not aware of other Sushi delivery options in Seattle.

Update: I'm changing this from 4 stars to 2. I've been back several more times and the food just didn't taste that great. Once a friend got sick from it and another time I got sick from it. I could be a coincidence but the food doesn't really seem worth risking it anymore. Not a fan. You should go here for the sushi. It isn't fancy but it sure is tasty. The setting is unpretentious and feels down home. Sit at the bar and watch Mori skillfully create your meal. Or sit at a table and stay as long as you like, chatting with friends or reading your book. Unlike Sam's Sushi in Ballard which I think is great, there's never a wait here and this place is anything but a scene. It's just good food without any pretense. Also, they deliver which I love when I'm feeling lazy. My favorites are the spicy tuna roll (which isn't spicy), every last morsel of their vegetable/shrimp tempera and the beef sukiyaki. Though you probably shouldn't order tempera to go. Some things were meant to be devoured immediately.

Mori has somehow managed to combine two concepts near and dear to my heart - DELIVERY and SUSHI. Mmmmmmmmmm...... My beau is not a huge fan of sushi, so I don't eat it nearly as much as I'd like to (say, once a day....). Because of this, we don't tend to seek out sushi when we do eat out, so I'm not well-versed on the Seattle sushi scene. However, a few months back while the beau was out of town, I had a huge hankering for some raw fish and seaweed. I headed for my laptop hoping against hope that I could find a decent sushi place in the neighborhood because while I was indeed craving sushi, I was also feeling unbelievable lazy. *Go get food? Huh. No, I think I'll have popcorn for dinner instead.* I was hitting all the usual on line spots, searching for sushi with good reviews, and BAM! I found sushi (check) in the neighborhood (check) and...what's this? They deliver! Oh miracle of miracles, I think I just heard the angels singing! I burned up the phone lines calling Mori and placing my order. My delivery order arrived within a half-hour and the delivery person was courteous and friendly. After closing the door and temporarily setting down my to-go boxes in order to do an impromptu happy dance, I tucked in to wonderful, fresh, and flavorful sushi. I have since ordered delivery sushi from Mori several times and it's always been a great experience. The only thing I would suggest to make the experience absolutely sublime: Mori should look into on line ordering. Oooh, the thought just makes me swoon.

Mori that son of a gun never disappoints. My bf and I try to come on a regular basis and recently invited his friends there for his birthday dinner - they were very attentive and accommodating to our requests. We always manage to finish what we order and we order a lot! It's always a Bento box (tonkatsu or teriyaki salmon are always good) plus two rolls - Greenwood maki and mori's maki. The bento box meals come with one salad (yummy ginger dressing) and miso soup. What i love about the bentos is the crafty bite sized orange it comes with to finish you off. service in getting our food out could be a little quicker but the wait staff is speedy as ever. mori's is hands down, the best hole-in-the-wall japanese restaurant to ever exist.

This place is hit & miss....I've been here 3 times now & 2 times were great & 1 time wasn't terrible, but not good either. Was here last night for the 3rd time & really enjoyed it though. Husbo & I got a sashimi/sushi bento box for 2, which came with a nice clean & fresh salad, but a lukewarm miso soup which was dissapointing, (maybe I'm being picky but I like my miso soup hot). The sushi was excellente though! Very fresh fish, great rolls that weren't too big and a huge portion for the money. The super white tuna was like a delicious slab of butter and the spicy california roll was absolutely delish! Lots of fresh avocado and a nice kick to the crab. We shared moci for dessert which was fresh and yummy. Overall it was a great experience, just not sure how next time will be! Hope they keep up the great quality!

This place is fantastic! I was worried that my new 'hood was lacking on sushi places to eat and I'm glad that Yelp introduced me to Mori's! Service ain't too shabby and the prices are totally reasonable. I like that the selection of rolls is really broad - everything from tiny fresh rolls to giggity giant fried rolls. Yay for snushi! And they're open pretty late, so that's definitely helpful for those late evening sushi cravings :)

Got delivery from Mori's the other day, and ultimately was pretty disappointed. I've been fiending some traditional ramen, and ordered the vegetable ramen from this place. Vegetable ramen in Japan usually has bamboo shoots (pickled or not), bean sprouts, mushrooms, sometimes snow peas, sometimes egg, etc. This ramen arrived absolutely covered in cabbage and carrots, with a few stray pieces of broccoli. ....what?! Absolutely NOT ramen in every way possible. I removed all of the offending cabbage and carrots and ended up with good broth with noodles, but that doesn't warrant the cost. Also got two pieces of tamago sushi (egg), but for some reason Mori's is cut differently than anywhere else: the egg is folded over in half, with a TINY TINY bit of rice shoved between. It's basically like eating a piece of egg, with no normal amount of rice to go with it. The husband got a vegetarian roll, which he considered just "ok". Green salad had very very oily dressing which was ok, but nothing special. I'd give a 2.5 star rating if I could. I'll try this place again and get the salmon teriyaki bento, but definitely not impressed so far.

  • Sarah S.

My rating is actually 3.5 stars, because this place was better than I expected. We went here just for a big bowl of ramen on a cold rainy night and it fit the bill perfectly. Service was very good, they are a friendly group of people.

Mori is great. I've been going here infrequently (as it is way not in my neighborhood... wow... it would be great if it was in my neighborhood... I would go here every week!) for 7 years. One thing that I like is that they really tolerate kids well here. The food/sushi is always good. And the service is sweet. I especially like the Japanese cooking shows that are on the television! It is not fancy fancy inside but very comfortable. A definite great, relaxed place to eat!

Japanese food has been pretty lacking in our stint here in Seattle. So, when we came across Mori's, we were pleased to not be disappointed. In fact, we gobbled up dinner, licked our lips, patted our bellies and thought...finally, a tasty Japanese restaurant we can call our own! Yes, yes, the atmosphere is...blah, BUT, it is clean, and the food is really tasty. I will say, I have not explored the menu fully. I am loyal to tuna, chicken, and that oh so yummy ginger dressing they put on the salad. The best thing, is seeing the chef / owner take pride and joy when considering the food that is made along with making sure it is up to excellent standards. It all translates to a love of food and respect for the Mori customers. Wow - imagine that.

Hate to do this, but a recent visit (my 2nd time) was bad enough that it warranted a review re-do. My first time, I was pleasantly surprised. Sushi tasted great and fresh and the service was fast and accommodating. Second time around - well, it was the opposite of all those things. Was seated quickly, and ordered quickly - but took a good 30 minutes before any food got to us...and this is when we were one of two couples in the entire restaurant. The sushi chef (I'm certain he is a nice guy) was so focused on chatting up the couple sitting at the bar, that in return, we got our sushi only after waiting for a ridiculous amount of time. Additionally, we ordered the soft shell crab roll (reviews here said it was great)...well, our crab was way overcooked. Which was easy to see...yet they used it anyway. It made the roll taste super fishy and had an unpleasant texture. I was really unimpressed with the food and service. I'm not sure if I'll give this place another try...currently leaning towards no.

The sushi and nigiri was really delicious - fresh, smooth, and flavorful. The Seattle roll was a favorite tonight (smoked salmon, avocado, cream cheese). They had a number of items and dishes on special at really nice prices - unfortunately, we didn't end up ordering any of them this time. Service was a little slow - but very friendly and graciously kind. We'll be back.

I'm updating my review because I went there a couple times for lunch and was disappointed. Their quality wasn't fabulous. The sushi looked a bit less than fresh and the sides in the bento box weren't anything to write home about. Also, it was FREEZING in there during lunch. You'd think they would turn the heat on for the customers....

I am SO happy to have sushi delivery. I mean, I love Thai...but let's face it, getting that wasabi rush at home without having to slave over a hot bamboo mat for hours is nice. The only disappointments were that (1) the rice has been very mushy twice. I don't think this should EVER happen with sushi (the rolls tasted good, maybe they got the best of the batch for them, but the mound of rice under some teriyaki was unforgiveably pasty. Sad). (2) the tempura when delivered was tasty, but texture was awful. This I should add, is my fault. I knew that would happen. Chirashi sushi is lovely when delivered, all the fish nice and fresh. Presentation of delivered items is very nice. I love having lunch here, in every little bento you get an orange which has been nicely carved into four perfect bites and placed back in its skin so it looks like art. Perhaps this is done with a ceremonial sword. Whatever, little things like this are impressive to me. Their delivery is always quick, polite, and tasty. I can't imagine why they aren't busier in the restaurant, esp at lunch. Three times I've been there in the last couple months and was the ONLY diner there twice. Weird! I think their location sucks. I'm glad they're still there! Yay Mori for giving us sushi at home!

I was excited to go to Mori after reading all of the reviews, but I can't agree with the community here. People who know me, know I'm all about the the family run restaurants. There's just something about the homey feel and authenticity you can find at a family restaurant. This place didn't have either for me. We had maki rolls and nigiri which were below average in my opinion. I knew hole in the wall sushi was a bad idea today.

Simply put, they offer consistently good service and great sushi. It's not the fanciest place in town but it's busy enough not to make you wonder and empty enough so you never have to wait. Now, I don't normally order anything other than sushi but sushi is great so why would I?

This little neighborhood place may have the freshest and best sushi in Seattle. If you're looking for cool atmosphere, go to one of the trendy spots downtown like Wasabi Bistro or Shiro's. If you want amazing sushi at reasonable prices without all the fuss, go to Mori.

Good place! The location is maybe not the most chic, but the atmosphere inside is good, and so is the food. The prices are reasonable, and the food is some of the best Japanese I've had in a while. It's not gourmet, but for an everyday Japanese restaurant, this place hits the mark. I highly recommend it for a weekday evening or weekend date!

it's not the MOST amazing japanese food in town by a long shot, but it's in walking distance, the food is good, comforting, plenty of beer and sake, and i always know what to expect. usually i know what i'm going to order before i arrive. some nights that's perfect.

Sunday night I order from Eat24 , it was fast and good, foods from Mori Sushi, I order some sushi rolls , sashimi and Tonkatsu, my family love it foods was fresh special rolls are so wonderful , we hope Mori Sushi keep the same quality all the time, so my family give Mori Sushi and eat24 ( 5 STAR ***** ) service price, thank you , your the Best

  • Erica C.

  • Seattle Y.

The food here was very unappetizing. The chicken teriyaki was not good at all. Even the rice tasted off. Uncle Ben's perhaps? It wouldn't have been so bad, but for $12, it should taste a little better than blah.

They gave me cold miso soup. I don't think I need to say more than that but I will. The atmosphere inside isn't great. They are open later which is nice but their nigiri was average at best. Service was slow and we were the only two people there.

Apparently Mori retired a few months ago. The new staff is nice but awkward, and the food quality just isn't what it used to be. The katsudon was okay but not right, and the rest of the food was just okay. I'm sad that my old favorite place isn't as good anymore, but I guess all good things come to an end.

  • Erin B.

  • Raine W.

Having read the Yelp reviews, I was disappointed. The atmosphere is poor, and the Sushi is just fair. Not bad, but fair. On the other hand, the service is very good. I may try them for delivery anyway since I'm not aware of other Sushi delivery options in Seattle.
