This is my friendly neighborhood Mexican oasis. The house salsa speaks for itself, and there's even options for my vegetarian friends! The staff is always friendly and the prices are very reasonable. They also have a great drink selection and I highly recommend the Xangos on the dessert menu! I personally always eat the enchiladas - for me that's the standard of a great Mexican restaurant! It's right along 99/Aurora Ave N - so it's easy to find, but beware busy nights cause the parking lot fills up quick! Coming to Las Margaritas makes me smile, because it reminds me of all the great Mexican places I went to with my parents as a kid.

This place has the best Expresso burrito. I end up eating here atleast once a month because no other place makes their burritos as good as this place. The meat is so tasty that I'd have to say it tastes like it's fresh organic. The staff is always nice and if you don't want to dine out, you can place an order to go and pick it up.

this is my number one favorite restaurant in the entire world. I, went here last month and had the best time. The food was out of this world and the service was just the same. The waiter's were top notch. the all had smile on their faces and were oh so helpful. I, can't wait to go again.

My favorite North end restaurant style Mexican food. Several of my friends went to this place a lot while growing up. The staff remembers them, and remembers us every time we go in. The staff is friendly and the food is great. I'm a Mexican trio type of guy. Pollo asada, carne asado and 3 bacon wrapped shrimp. It's a lot of food for the average person but luckily I'm "Gordo y borracho" so I take the whole thing down with some extra grilled jalapeño's.

I've tried this place 3 times now. 2 out of 3 times the service was awful. The first time, we walked out after 30 minutes without even being offered a glass of water much less having our order taken. That said, the third time we got excellent service. The food is sadly on par with most mediocre Americanized Mexican restaurants. Overcooked ground beef, cheese, beans and rice sort of thing. Far too expensive for the bland quality. The bathrooms were borderline nasty. They smelled terrible and were pretty rundown. When I see gnarly restrooms in a restaurant, it makes me question the overall sanitation standards of that restaurant... It's unlikely that I'll ever go back, and I certainly wouldn't recommend it.

I usually get some take-out because they're really fast, and it's so well-packaged, it stays hot for quite awhile. But, the last time I stopped in for takeout, the hostess seated me in a booth by the door (since I'd ordered a beer) and brought me chips and the BEST salsa I've ever had! Totally made my night.

The day was long and we were hungry. Mexican food sounded good so we thought we'd try this place. There weren't many people inside the restaurant despite the 7-10 cars in the lot. Maybe folks park there and take the bus elsewhere? I wasn't sure. There was no one at the front host area so we continued into the dining room. A server instructed us to sit where ever we wanted. After assessing the fixed tables and weirdly low booths, we opted for the table and chair option. Regrettably there was a downside to the chairs: they felt too tall and I had to bend over to reach the table. I'm 5'8", if that matters. We made it in time for their lunch menu. I chose their carne asada plate and she went with one of the combination with two enchiladas, extra beans, and no rice. I asked for some spicier salsa and they brought me a tastier version of the regular salsa with way more pepper flakes! The carne asada was pounded too thin and overcooked. The rice and beans were standard, nothing special. I was excited to see cebollitas on my platter but disappointed when I bit into mushy, overdone onions. My MIL enjoyed her enchiladas but called her meal "unchallenging taste-wise" which was a fair assessment of both entrées. Toward the bar side, there was a group of loud men watching the baseball game. They were constantly asking the server to bring them this or that, in one of those dismissive manners that translates into "never worked a service job", if you know what I mean. Our server was hard to flag down and overall, not that friendly. I doubt that I would return. There was a strange feeling to the place. I dislike using the word "vibe" but that's the best way to describe it.

Great food, amazing prices, nice staff. I'm coming back again. I ordered the #24; two tacos and a enchilada, had their delicious deep fried ice cream for dessert! Nice place to visit with the family!

Honestly, 4 stars for the service. The staff remembers our faces and what we like to order. And the food here is way better than Azteca. It's not going to be the best Mexican food in the city, but it's close to my house and satisfies my cravings.

Nice family-run Mexican spot on 145th and highway 99. You get what you expect here which is huge portions of melty, cheesy, goodness. I had the chile relleno with chicken and rice and beans and it was huge and delicious. The margaritas are awesome and strong. Salsa is great and has a nice kick! They just redid the parking lot/road area by the restaurant so it's a bit easier to get in/out now. Friendly people working there!

I ordered food to go. It was just me and I don't like sitting alone. I ordered the #12th chili rellenjo and 1 enchilada pork. It was cheaper than other mexican restraunts, I know guac will be $$$ since fresh avocados are hard work. Convienant location off of aurora. I didn't go into the bar so I can't speak of it but I'm sure it's pretty standard.

My partner and I have been coming here for 20 years. The staff is always friendly and always the same people--which is usually a good sign that the operation works to some degree. Yes the place could use some redecorating, but tacky Mexican is sort of traditional in this country. The parking and access is now much worse since the ridiculous sidewalk/curb change that the City of Seattle imposed, assumedly for safety and surface water issues. We like the fact that there is such variety in the menu--not just burritos, tacos, enchiladas, and "combination plates", but adaptations of regional dishes like steak tampiqueno, pork with cactus, and a lot of seafood options, and not everything is overwhelmingly spiced with chiles. (Believe it or not, hot chiles is not a countrywide ingredient in Mexico) . We've tried most everything, and our usual routine is now Mariscos Los Cabos and the Borracho special. Both are very similar, with a variety of seafood items with broccoli, cauliflower, some fres tomato and avocado, over rice and cheese--Los Cabos has a creamy tomato base; Borracho (which means drunk) is cooked in wine. We have noticed that the quality has started to fluctuate wildly in the last few years, with failures outnumbering successes. Amount of sauce can vary from a little (good), to a pond. Last night the prawns and salt cod--both frozen items--were way overcooked in the fryer and were just chewy shells of their original selves. So now we will wait a few months before returning and see if the cooks have changed....like many places, the best quality of food and service seems to be at busy times, when everyone is on their A-game Mark T

For the price you are paying for dishes, the food is more towards fast food quality and not what I would expect from a sit down restaurant. I went to a similarly priced Mexican restaurant in the city the night before and the food was infinitely better. The decor is also very tacky and outdated. Also, the staff are very friendly and proffesional but upon two seperate visits my sister, whos vegan, ordered dishes specifically without cheese and both times the dishes came with loads of cheese added all on top of the food. I was suprised as the waiter seemed to understand very well each time and was very accommodating. It seems the chefs are on auto pilot; another reason why i feel it is more like a fast food joint. The chips they serve come with 3 different dips which includes a homemade salsa made with fresh tomatoes, onions, cilantro etc which is exquisite.

Best Mexican food around! The restaurant was decorated about 30 years ago, not very pretty. But the food makes up for it. The seafood stew is kick ass.. This is my comfort food stop. Oh ya, the waitstaff isn't very friendly, but they get the job done. No frills but you always get what you ask for. Well done!

This place was a little odd. I wanted chicken fajitas, so did my mom. We didnt even look at the menu, we just ordered chicken fajitas for 2. Apparently, they don't have this as an option! I thought that was so freaking weird. So instead, we each got chicken fajitas for 1. They were decent, but I've had better! We started with the queso - it was just OK, definitely nothing special. My husband had the chicken quesadillas, he liked them. Overall - it was OK.

I don't know why the average for this place is 3 stars. I love it! Cheap delicious Mexican food. It comes fast! Great attentive service. Delicious salsa! As many chips as you can eat. Strong drinks. An amazing birthday display! Actually the only negative experience I've had there was last night, but it was not the restaurants fault. We sat in the bar to watch some football with dinner and there were some crazy loud drunk people in there. It was only uncomfortable because I was with my parents and they don't even swear, and there were F-bombs you could hear across the room. Anyway, it just made me talk more, and talk louder and we actually had some really good conversation. I'm sure if we had asked they would have been very supportive with moving us into the restaurant. (I actually thought about it, but then they brought out some food for the drunkies and they got considerably quieter!) I mean, we were in the bar section after all, what did we expect, you know!? anyway, good cheap food (plus I always have leftovers) 5 stars for me!

This restaurant is right on my way home. Before eating here, I spent a lot of time drooling over their menu, and all my friends said they were "the most authentic mexican food in town." I got take out a couple days ago, and I loved it! But it wasn't authentic mexican food. At all. Authentic mexican food is simple ingredients, simple flavors, and that big-family feel. If I don't feel like I'm on the beach eating it, it's not authentic. The only place I have ever had authentic mexican food was mexico and home-cooking in texas. Misconceptions aside, this food was delicious. The one thing that was a little more authentic was the spanish rice. Usually in Seattle it's saturated with tomato paste and seasonings. I LOVE americanized spanish rice, don't get me wrong, but authentic rice is a little more mild than we like it here. That was how they did it. My dining partner, who usually hates the stuff, was able to stomach quite a bit happily. I got the combination with 2 enchiladas (en mole) and a taco. The taco was a little soggy upon reciept, but it was delicious, and a little sog is to be expected in a box for 30 minutes. The enchiladas were some of the best ive had in the area, but not by far. They were marginally better but much more expensive, so I still see myself alternating between here and azteca. The thing that made them so good was that there was actually real onion in my cheese-and-onion enchilada. Like long delicious strips of the stuff. That's what I want, not measly tasteless, pureed bits of onion excuses. The mole sauce was a bit less rich than it would have been even at azteca. In traditional mexican cooking, they use less but it's very very rich. I admit it, I am a mexican food snob. I can't come up with a compliment without a matching negative point. The food was delicious, servers were fast and friendly, and I was a happy lady after eating. The point-de-la-resistance is that they give you chips and salsa for take-out and you don't even have to ask!! :D That's my kinda place.

Underwhelming "Mexican" establishment. Good portion size, however, flavors weren't good, and seafood not fresh.

I used to live near the original Las Margaritas in Kirkland when it was the only one owned by Nicholas and Manuel Morales who also happened to be my neighbors. It had long waits and lines out the door. Since they moved on after opening several more places and then franchising them, the quality took a hit and I had stopped going to the one on Aurora as the food was low quality and the margaritas too sweet though the service was good. But recently I decided to give it a try again. It has changed significantly for the better since the last time I was in there. The food is better now. There are numerous scratch margaritas to pick from which are tasty and not too sweet, priced about the same as everywhere else. They have good lunch choices. The salsa is good, chips just OK. A couple of things of interest to the aficionado. The tamales are really good. I don't know if they make them but whoever does makes them well. Not too much masa and not greasy. The Chile Relleno is good too. The chile with the cheese inside and *egg* cooked around it, not that horrible doughy bread mixture that soaks up grease and feels like lead in your stomach. I previously tried the Chile Colorado and it was decent. I want to try a few more of their sauces like the mole and see how it goes. So if you used to go here and stopped going you might consider going again. The place should do a coupon to draw people in to try it. No doubt a better menu with better food. The prices are up there with everyone else, no particular price break but at least you feel like you got a decent meal for the money.

How did this place get so many stars??? This place is nasty. I've been to better fast food "mexican" restaurants. I got the shrimp chimichanga. Not only was it not crunchy, but it was soggy and chewy. That's right, SOGGY AND CHEWY. The filling was so sour I wondered if it had gone bad. They also dump that cheap quality shredded lettuce on top of everything. You know, the kind they dump on your burger at cheap fast food places. After sawing a few bites off I gave up on it. I made such a mess of it I felt it was probably too late to try to send it back (though apparently they argue with you if you do???). Also tried my boyfriends dish (chipotle shrimp enchiladas). That was at least edible, but it was still pretty meh. Runny sauce, and fast food quality chipotle seasoning. Very bland overall. The chips were stale, and the drinks were clearly made from a cheap mix that they purchased elsewhere. I mean, how hard is it to make your own mix??? I've gotten better mixes from the grocery store! Same goes for the tortillas. Even the rice and beans was low quality, and that's pretty hard to screw up.

Las Margaritas was surprisingly busy when we went on a Monday evening. The atmosphere was the generic Mexican restaurant style, on par with most others. This place did feel a little dirty and rundown to me, though, compared to some others I've been to. I think refried beans and salsa are the best litmus tests for Mexican food places. If they're made in house and they're tasty, in my experience, that says good things about the place. And the opposite, likewise, usually bodes poorly. The chips were hot and the taste was fine. As for the salsa, I've had worse, but this stuff was thin (no chunks of tomato, onion, cilantro) and pretty bland. It was probably not made in house, and it needed more flavor. I ordered the carne asada, and my husband ordered an enchilada combo plate. The portions were gigantic, and the presentation was nice. The carne asada itself was delicious. The things served with it, like the rice, were fine but lackluster. My husband's enchiladas were just so-so, nothing special. My biggest complaint is that the refried beans were terrible. I'm a huge fan of refried beans, and bad ones can definitely ruin a restaurant for me. These beans had that distinctive taste that canned foods have. My husband and I both agreed that we would be shocked if the beans were not from a can. That's shameful. If I wanted canned beans, I'd eat at home. All in all, this wasn't the experience we hoped for. Needless to say, we're still looking for a Mexican food place in Seattle to call our own...

You can always smell this place from Aurora. I went there for the first time last and the staff is really nice and the food is pretty alright. It wasn't too busy in there so the service was pretty quick. They put a lot of cheese on the food though if you ask for cheese, so much it was kind of hard to chew up. The meat in my burrito was a little bit dry, and the rice doesn't have too much flavor. But the food was still good. We also got deep fried ice cream. It comes with whipped cream on top and strawberry and chocolate syrup. The bathrooms aren't too nice, but just a random heads up that in the handicap stall the toilet seat covers are way high up on the wall which is really random but also doesn't make sense lol.

First off let me say I am very new to Seattle up from So Cal where I have lived for over 50 years, and I LOVE Mexican food. Las Margarita is not only not good, it is bad. I ordered a taco combo plate (normally a safe item). The taco shells were premade from a box (think taco bell hard shell). The meat was ground beef that was very greasy and devoid of flavor. My wife ordered a chicken plate. She kept saying "This taste like nothing." I was told that I would find good Mexican food around me. This is not one of them

My last meal was so blah at Las Margaritas that I had planned to never return. Well I was starving today and El Sabor did not have a single parking spot left open. I figured what the heck. I ordered carne asada . It was well seasoned, tender and flavorful even though I ordered it well done. It was the best carne asada I've had in a long time! The salsa was not as good as three years ago but better than my last visit. The beans and rice were OK. The slaw was tasty. The tortillas tasted store bought. The service was decent this time. Maybe I wrote them off too soon. Las Margaritas may be down but they are not out. They can still crank out a decent meal. Let's hope they do it consistently.

Expensive drinks, foods okay, nothing special, just a step up from Taco Bell, just go to Taco Time a few blocks south,Taco Time nachos(mostly sourced from the great NW) are about 4 bucks and beat the $10 nachos at Las Margaritas...just gotta go inside and they will serve you better than this place did. On a positive note, they have margaritas, something Taco Time can't offer.

What a pleasant surprise! My girlfriend and I visited Seattle from San Francisco and without knowing the area, we stayed at a Holiday Inn just down the street. After stopping in late our first night, we were stunned at the quality of food (not to mention the quantity). We returned two more nights on our short trip and felt right at home thanks to Louis, Hector, and Patricia. Very reasonable pricing to boot.

I've been here several times, but I haven't been since I started "yelping". Came here on my lunch break because a co worker was bragging about going to Rositas for dinner... there began the hankerin for some Mexican food! I sat in the bar, and it took quite a while (atleast 5 min) for someone to acknowledge my existance. Hello, I'm on a time crunch restaurant on my lunch hour!! By the time the lady came over, she was very friendly... took my order efficiently and my food arrived in what seemed to have been quicker than getting noticed. 2 enchilladas and rice... and of course chips and salsa... $8.29 . Not bad for lunch, sometimes spend more than that at subway. Of course I have to tip too so it was over $10 but purely worth it for a lunch break kinda meal!

I'd have to say this Las Margaritas features a plethora of meh-type americanized mexi food. I've been here a few times, and their food isn't bad, but it's not smack-yo mama good either. I've tried many different dishes, and none of them stand out as spactacular to me. The chicken is always really tasty, and is of the pulled-variety so it stays really moist. The chips and salsa are really, really good too, and I could probably sit in the bar with a mojito or two and just fill up on those. The portions, even on the small lunchtime specials, are ginormous. The mexican rice is always really great, but the coleslaw is absolutely atrocious, it tastes like... well, it doesn't have any particular flavor. It just tastes old. Not in an unfresh way, but whatever dressing they put on it makes the cabbage taste like the scent of an old, musty room or something. Hard to describe, don't eat the slaw. It's right across the street from my work, so when my bosses feel generous, they sometimes buy me lunch from here. I wouldn't normally go out of my way to eat here, but I do think it's marginally better food than their other local chain competition.

Went here with a friend last night to grab some Mexican food. I'd never been here before, even though I drive past it all the time. The meal started well enough. Our waitress brought us two glasses filled with ice and a large pitcher of water. I love it when places give you a pitcher of water because it means I can drink as much water as I want and I don't have to try to flag someone down for a refill. We were also brought chips and salsa and I was a big fan of the salsa. It tasted pretty fresh to me, though I have no idea if it was or not. My entree, a chicken tostada with guacamole, was decent. The portion size was quite large. The chicken was okay, but pretty dry overall, which was a bit of a disappointment. It would have been much better had I gotten it without meat. My friend did not enjoy the spinach enchiladas she ordered. She said there was something about the flavor that she did not like. However, she found the rice and beans to be pretty solid. Our waitress was friendly and checked in periodically to see if we needed anything. She also split the bill for us on request. Prices seemed a bit high to me for some of the dishes, but most seemed pretty much consistent with what I've seen at other Mexican restaurants in the area. Overall, Las Margaritas was okay. Nothing special. It's pretty much in line with similar places like Azteca, Jalisco's, etc. I would go here again, but I definitely wouldn't go out of my way to do so.

Okay lets just get to the point. The food is great, service is good and the best part is that is super close to where i stay. This place is always super packed come dinner time. i've lived in shoreline for about for more than half of my life and this restaurant has been here and running since ive moved here. Obviusly that means something! The pollo con crema is my FAVORITE dish! I used to hate it compared to the one they serve at azteca but now i like las margaritas version better. It has rice on the bottom, chicken, onions, mushrooms, bell peppers and cheese and it is extremely delicious! The enchiladas are cheap and very tasty as well! Definitely reccomend this place if your looking for sit down mexican food. The prices are around the same as Azteca, maybe a dollar or so cheaper, but this place has more of an authentic feel. They also serve you chips and salsa to start with. Yum!

Las Margaritas Is my favorite! The staff is ALWAYS so nice and I love the interaction they have with all the patrons. The pollo ala Crema - muy bueno! Honestly I have never had a bad meal, I can't refer enough people to this place!!

Nom nom nom nom. That is what I do when I sit down at the table. The chips are always fresh, the salsa always has a good bite, and the basket is miraculously always full. (Ok, so they take it away and bring it back to keep it full, but still.) Service at this location is always good, even when they're packed. They are a a bit on the more expensive side for Mexican food, but the plates are always large and you get good value. I had carne asada, which was fabulous. I have had numerous other items at this location and I've never been disappointed. I keep coming back to this location because they do well. I've been to other locations that aren't that great, so it's nice to know that some one is doing something right.! Yes, nom nom nom nom.

I've been coming here since I was a little kid. It's definitely tex-mex, so don't get offended when you find cheddar cheese smothering your beans and the standard 1-?? combination menu format. If really authentic Mexican is what you are after, this is not it, and good luck finding that in Seattle. I like this place because they do what they do well, and it is consistent. I see the same waiter here that served my family when we came 20 years ago, and I imagine a lot of the staff has been here a long time. I've eaten the #7 chicken chimichanga so many times since my childhood that it boggles my mind. The chips are consistently hot and fresh, the salsa is great. The food is similar to what you would find at a major tex-mex chain, but much better, because it is made by people who have a connection to the restaurant and they have been doing it a long time.

Where's the no star, star? I'd actually been here a few times but deliberately attempted to dine here with Riss J. on several occasions. We were all the way in Bothell when we decided we needed some grub in the tub and steered our way to Las Margaritas; excited, anxious and starving. Upon arrival, I had only one assumption: smells good so it's going to be good. This has sort of been my measure for what I put in my mouth. Well, it looks as if times are changin' and my ways are going to have to change with them. I'll never again judge a food by it's aroma. Ever. It's almost as if the salsa came in a can and the instructions read, "just add water". I swear it was one part salsa stuff and 1,975 parts water. We ordered the nachos and I almost didn't want to eat them. Everything was plain and bland. There was small dollop of both guac and sour cream and two olives. (Yes, I said two. Riss, I ate one when you took that phone call. I would have mentioned it right away but you were so adamant about only having one olive that it was amusing and well, I need cheap entertainment with this economy. There! I said it.) So, readers stray from Las Margaritas unless you are A) Drunk (so quality doesn't really matter) B) Desire poor quality attempts at Mexican fair or C) ALL of the above.

The in-laws took us here for dinner a few weeks back as they really like this place. Based on this experience, I will no longer let them pick restaurants. The chips and salsa were good but the chicken in my burrito was bland. There was absolutely zero seasoning of the shredded chicken and no amount of salsa or Tapatio was able to salvage this meal. I don't see how they can supposedly make awesome authentic dishes like mole yet totally fail at something as basic as seasoning their chicken. Maybe it was just an off night but I'll never know cause there's no chance I'm coming back here.

I am a big mexican food fan and have always liked coming to Las Margaritas. The food is what you would expect from a chain but much better than the Denny's of mexican (Azteca). The staff is friendly and the food service is typically fast, also the serving size is pretty big. Plus you can't go wrong with warm chips, salsa and a cold beer. It makes for a pleasant night out

My fiance and I ate here for the first time yesterday. We moved to the neighbourhood recently and drive by it daily so we thought we'd give it a try. Soon after sitting down at our table, they brought us some chips and salsa. The chips were delicious- warm, crisp, perfect! The salsa was so-so. I didn't think it had enough flavour to it. We ordered the cheese dip, which was DELICIOUS! I have been looking for the perfect cheese dip at a mexican restaurant since moving to Seattle (perfect in as close to can be compared to my favourite mexican restaurant back in Kansas), and had yet to find it. This is as close as I think it would get! I will definitely be a frequent customer of the cheese dip. The food however, not so great. I ordered a combination plate of a cheese & onion enchilada, and a bean & beef tostada, that came with beans, rice, and coleslaw on the side. I asked them to hold the rice and slaw so I can't vouch for those. However, my tostada shell soon was soggy by the amount of moisture from the beans & beef piled on top of it. There was very little cheese and a ton of lettuce. I ended up scraping most of the beef off of what I ate of it as it was seasoned with WAY too much cumin, and was using the melted cheese off of the top of my refried beans to fill out the missing cheese. Just not impressed. My enchilada also lacked flavour. The fiance ordered a deluxe burrito but also was not that impressed. He said it was dry yet watery around the sides of his tortilla at the same time? I probably wouldn't choose to eat here again, but will definitely be a repeat customer for some cheese dip and chips to go, or possibly just to try the fried ice cream.

Family mexican food. Hearty portions. Friendly. Good food. Not expensive. We always enjoy eating there

Usually whenever anyone says something is "like crack" it means that person really has never actually tried crack. I'll validate that opinion by saying the tortilla chips they give your here are like crack. No matter how hard I tried, I just could not stop eating them. I'd tell myself no more, your food's about to come... but then there I was in mid conversation realizing I was again stuffing chips in my mouth. The salsa was good too... not that super watery stuff. Needless to say, after devouring 2 baskets worth of chips I was able to finish probably no more than half of my arroz con pollo. Oh well, I guess I have lunch for tomorrow. The arroz con pollo was good. I wish they had given me more tortillas to use, though I'm sure they would've been happy to supply more if I would have asked. Food arrived promptly and service was nothing to complain about. One thing that irked me was the fact that there were no prices in the drinks portion of the menu... lots of options but no mention of how much anything costs. This bothers me. For one, I don't want to order a delicious sounding margarita only to find out when I get the bill that it was a $15 delicious sounding margarita. And secondly, I don't want to have to ask the server to run down the prices of every drink on the menu for me, it's annoying and I'll likely forget what he said the second he leaves. Put prices on the drink menu for the love of jebus!

I'm giving this place 4 stars because the service is top notch if you are a regular. This has been my neighborhood restaurant for the last 6-7 years, and if you are looking for creative or original fare, you won't find it here... The ambiance is pretty standard, the menu is what you find in most Mexican restaurants, but you can always count on it being consistent. My suggestion is this: Go to the cantina, make friends with Miguel, and he'll remember you forever. He'll tell you what is good, he'll remember your drink, and he'll keep scuzzy guys from hitting on you if you are a girl. If you are a sports fan, they have several large TVs in the cantini as well. As far the foods goes, the servings are huge, and my friends and I have pretty much ordered everything on the menu at least once. For appys, you can't go wrong with the chicken taquito plate. For an entree, the California burrito, Carne Asada, Arroz Con Pollo, or Camarones ala Diabla have always been solid choices. I wouldn't take a first date here, but it is worth stopping by if you are in the north end, as there are very few quality places up here other than this one. Ole!

I love Las Margaritas! The staff and food is always great! I'm originally from Eastern WA and my home town is very Mexican food heavy and this is just as good as my best friend's grandma's cooking! We eat here at least 3-4 times month and we've never left disappointed. I love when you're able to walk into a restaurant and the staff knows you on a personal level and the atmosphere is never sour... I highly recommend LM for a good, fun and delicious night out with friends and family! Ps my favorite dish is the mole poblano! Delish!!!

I come here pretty regularly with co-workers because it's just down the street. The bartender remembers our drinks every time, and brings them out right way. The food is pretty bland, but it's the service and drinks that are top-notch. I'm vegan, and the waitress always double-checks to make sure my order doesn't have any dairy or egg. Yaaaay.

YAWN. Went here for lunch today. Nice enough people, someone was singing in the kitchen and that's kind of a good sign. However, this was the most boring lunch I've had in a while. It was just depressing. I had a chicken chimichanga and it was full of meat but just 'yawn' so boring. The rice and beans were mushy and boring. The chips were too thick and fresh-ISH, the salsa was so so, I just don't think I will ever go back here again. There are so many nice little, interesting non-chain Mexican restaurants around that there's no reason to go HERE. I'm ashamed of myself.

They have good chips and salsa. The drinks are too sweet. The service is either okay or bad. I go here because it is close to my house and usually when I'm hung over. Stick to the basics and what you know. The arroz con pollo is too sweet. The carne asada is paper thin and not very well seasoned. Nothing special here and this is very annoying when it comes with the attitude of some of the servers.

I see there are quite a few negative reviews and normally they would be enough for me to not try someplace since I tend to rely on Yelp for absolutely every single important decision in my life, especially when it comes to whether I'm gonna like my dinner. Ok, so I might have over-stated my reliance on Yelp just a bit, but you get the idea. Anywho. A friend suggested the place and since he was buying, I wasn't about to say no, so off we went. My impression of the decor was that it was actually sweet instead of tacky, but maybe that was just the mood I was in at the time. It was festive, to say the least, and the staff was friendly and attentive, calling us "amigos" by the time we left the place. But that's probably their usual way. My friend said the seafood was his favorite so I went with the seafood enchiladas and he got the seafood crema. We both ordered margaritas, because, I mean, come on. They have margaritas. It's the right idea to order them. The obligatory chips and salsa were quite fresh and tasty and I will admit to being a bit of a snob (ok, a total freaking snob) when it comes to salsa. I exercised a good bit of restraint although I could have easily devoured at least half a basket of those crispy, salty triangles of love. Of course the portions were pretty big, especially with the rice and beans and pickled slaw (which I found to be rather bland and wondered what it might be like a little crunchier and more pickled), but I have to say the seafood enchiladas were truly delicious. They were full of flavor and the seafood really tasted fresh and perfectly cooked. I didn't really have high expectations for the food, but I was quite surprised, in a good way. I tasted a couple of bites of my friend's seafood crema and that was also really tasty and delicious. I'm thinking their seafood dishes might be much better than the other options, from what I read from my fellow Yelpers? Either way, I would definitely go back for the seafood enchiladas and maybe get them without the beans and rice so there's more room for the chipsssss.

My family enjoyed dinner here this week and it was very tasty. I had tacos ala carte with shredded beef and they were the type I prefer - with lettuce tomato and cheese. My mom had the vegetarian enchilada and RAVED about it. She doesn't like foods that are too spicy and the green sauce was perfect for her but still had a hint of spicy. My kids and grandkids all nodded emphatically when I asked if they liked their dinner (including one little miss who had pepperoni pizza - a nice option for a big family with varied tastes.) Our waiter was very helpful and even though we made changes to three different things, he got everything correct which doesn't always happen when we're out with a big group. We will definitely be adding this to our address books for future visits. While the prices for the meals were around $10 for dinner, the kids meals were less and the rest of us just ordered ala carte since we couldn't take home left overs and we only drank water (really appreciated their water pitchers) - which turned out to make it a very reasonably priced $35ish for 6

The place felt old, but it looked clean, but my seat almost dumped me on the floor from not being bolted down. My food came it was bland no flavor, and I mean no flavor. Then cam seeing a roach walking along th window where I was sitting. A good size roach kept going back and forth I lost my stomach to eat there ever again. I quietly told my server and he gave me a line of BS telling me its cold outside and it must have come from outside to get warm. This is the Northwest and roaches don't walk in from the cold. If I saw one in the eating area there are many in that kitchen. I will be telling many. After telling them about the roach you might an offer to adjust my bill would have came, but no.

If I could give this junk of a restaurant no stars I would. Actually I would deduct stars. We went for dinner and I started off with a mango margarita...it came and it was a berry flavor. It was still tasty so I drank it, I could over look that. The salsa and chips were gross, no flavor and the salsa tasted like stale water. Then I ordered a seafood chimichanga with no scallops, unfortunately they also forgot to add my crab too. So I started to eat my shrimp chimichanga, and I realized it was soggy and bland tasting. I just didn't like it, so I sent it back. The waitress sees my plate and says she can't refund it because I ate half of my plate....umm I ate none of the beans nor rice, and less than a quarter of the enchilada (which is what i'm sure I got). If you've ever been to a mexican restaurant you know how large the portions are so just imagine one bite taken out of it....But she tried to save herself by giving me some free flan, which was burnt, chunky tasting and as bland as the rest of the food I tried to eat. Overall, save you money and a potential headache. Skip this disgusting restaurant and their pathetic excuse for customer service.

Drinks are okay depending on what you order . Salsa is the best salsa I have had at a Mexican restaurant. I have been here 2x's. The first time was nasty which was in late 2011 . Went again last week and had the nachos with steak ! Maybe they got new cooks . Food is overall bland and not anywhere spicy .

This popular Mexican restaurant probably enjoys a good business for lack of competition in the area. It's always lively here but despite the large menu offerings the food is rather generic and bland. The tamale I had is easily outdone by the Trader Joe's frozen version. My wife commented that a meal at Taco Time down the street would have been more satisfying.

This place is always packed...it's great because it's also a family restaurant with lots of room. We sat for about 10 mins. then a server took out drinks and food order. The workers work hard to keep the place clean, lots of chips and salsa at your table, and just checking in! I go their a lot. Thank you!

OMG, their Chicken in Mole Poblano is to fucking die for! Went here with some roomies for dinner and figured it would be an over glorified Azteca, boy was a wrong. Dead wrong. With many classic recipies (Chiles Releno, Carne Asada Tacos....) as well as some traditional recipies you don't see too often (Albondigas Soup)...they never cease to have something for everyone even given the cuisine is Mexican. I had the Albondigas the first time I was there and it was awesome, and the next time I tried the Chicken in Mole Poblano, and was hooked on that dish every since.....hell, it is the only thing I order these days. The complimentary chips and salsa are kickin too....'specially the salsa verde. While this place is almost always busy and it can be quite loud as a result.....it is worth it for the quality of the food.

This place is fantastic. Went here with some friends on a friday night and we all got the carne asada. A giant hot plate of amazing food was placed before me as well as a peach margarita. the food was really great and fresh. the margarita was deceiving at first, tasting like a delicious peach smoothie then all the tequila settled in. The service was really great. the perfect amount of attentiveness.. Definitely check it out! it's a bit out of the way but i'll definitely go back!

Yeah...it was gross. I ordered a "pork burrito" for $10 including tip and what I got was a tortilla filled with just tons of tasteless, dry pork sitting in a pool of bland green sauce and also smothered with the sauce. I literally only ate the tortilla. I repeat: I PAID $10 FOR A TORTILLA! The person sitting next to me received a plate of melted cheese with a tortilla hiding underneath. There is absolutely no reason to go here. There are plenty of good places to eat on Aurora. Go to Pho Ha and get a great Vietnamese sandwich for $3 or something.

This is the Mexican restaurant you went to when you were a kid. A pretty solid chips-and-salsa sit-down joint, it has that slightly grimy, unremodeled atmosphere for which I am inexplicably a sucker. Location makes it kind of a toss-up as to who you'll be sitting by. Could be the boisterous family of four, could be the continuously-arguing, methed-out couple in track suits. You never know. Especially if you sit in the bar. However, if you are not a person who thinks that the clientele makes or breaks an eating establishment, give it a shot. It's at least on par with Azteca and the like. Meat can be a little dry, but it's slathered in so much sour cream, sauce, and cheese that you'll hardly notice. Sit in the bar. By the time you're on your second margarita and third basket of chips, you'll fucking LOVE the ambiance.

My wife loves the bean burritos here ... I always order the 2 taco special, one steak one chorrizo. Occasionally we drink margs. We've never had a bad experience, the service is speedy as all get out, and they are very nice and polite. They bring ya chips and salsa on the house to get things goin' ... sometimes, we just order from here for takeout. Always packed = always good. Keep up the good work Shoreline Las Margaritas ... please pay your staff as much as you can afford, they do a great job at a great price. I consistently leave other establishments thinking "how is it some of these high priced Seattle eateries stay in business offering up the crappy service some do ... " You guys rock.

this is my favorite place to go when I want Mexican food that's more authentic than taco bell! haha. me and my boyfriend have gone here many times and have always enjoyed our meals. I usually get a burrito or the taco salad and I'm satisfied. the chips are good and the service is good. The atmosphere is colorful and inviting! I haven't tried a margarita yet though.. Overall I'd recommend it as an affordable Mexican restaurant :)

Good burritos, and pretty good taco salads. The shredded chicken used in burritos and taco salads always seems a bit bland for my tastse so i usually stick to beef. prices are great and service is good.

Worst meal ever! Only slightly better than Taco Bell. Actually, at least at Taco Bell my food would have been warm. (Just for the record, I don't eat at Taco Bell; I'm just using the comparison to set the scene.) I ordered a Tostada which was watery, tasteless and cold. Who wants to eat here? This is what I imagine prison food to taste like. Anyone who gives this place 5 stars must have been on strict diet of Happy Meals before.

My absolute favorite mexican restaurant in seattle. Its not like the location or the atmosphere are phenomenal, but the food is great! I was living in France for the past year and found myself craving their chicken fajitas many times. The first place I went to eat when I got back was Las Margaritas. I will never get tired of this place.

I love Mexican food, and my in-laws love this restaurant. I was excited to try it, but was extremely disappointed in the quality of the food. We shared the cheese dip for our chips, and I found it extremely bland, as did my mother-in-law. It tasted like Velveeta, which is not what Mexican restaurant cheese dip should taste like. For my entree, I had the Pollo Asado. The chicken was an orange-red color from the 'seasoning' that was used, but I found that there was no flavor from the seasoning. It just tasted like overdone chicken. There was no flavor to the rice, and the beans were so-so. I have no desire to ever return to this restaurant when there are so many other choices, but unfortunately, I'm sure that I'll be forced to come back with my in-laws.

I have been trying to eat more in my neighborhood because driving to Pesos was becoming tiring but damn they have some good skirt steak. Anyway Las MArgaritas is not worth it even if I can walk to it. The salsa is from a jar and the chips are soggy . Burritos, enchiladas, steak, and everything taste like it's been hanging around for days. Oh how I wanted this place to be good. Prices are ok.

Honestly, this was terrible. I moved from Chicago which has a substantial Mexican population and I know authentic food. I would only come to Yelp to write a fantastic or a OMG do not go review, which is to say I have a wide tolerance for so so food. Ok, here goes. Las Margaritas is close to where I recently moved and I was so excited. I liked the looks of the place and that it has been around for so long. The reviews seemed favorable, too, and I thought my long search for a decent taco in Seattle might be over. I was wrong. On the upside: The interior is lovely and festive, the menu extensive though a touch pricey. Our waiter was absolutely charming and delightful and the food came out shockingly fast. I got mole and my husband got tacos. The tacos were ok but the meat had little flavor. Decent, though. The mole was GROSS and I LOVE even a bad mole. It was gloppy and orange and tasted like peanut butter. Honestly gross....and it was $13!!!!!! If you are going for tacos and margaritas with a big group, this would probably workout for you.... BUT go to Senior Moose which is A MAZ ING and only marginally more expensive. That food will blow your mind.

Mom gave me a lift down to Ballard last week since I was without a car, and I wanted to take her out to lunch, and she wanted to go to Azteca in mountlake Terrece, and it was Tuesday after all, but she couldn't hold out for that long, had to make a pit-stop, so I suggested las Margaritas(Wish I hadn't) we got in there just after 11am, there was one other table sat, we got our menus, I ordered a beer( I wasn't driving) and sat for a good 10 minutes waiting for the waiter to reappear. I wanted a Chile` relleno, and the only way I could get one from their meny would be to order a 3 item combo platter, so I did with the obligatory beef Enchilada(ground beef) it finally arrived after what seemed like an eternity, the waiter kept calling me Amigo, it was all worse than anything I could put together at home, blindfolded, with a hangover. Never, ever again, not unless you happen enjoy Americanized sub-par Quazi-mexican food. I can't believe they are still in business selling that swill. Is it too late to give them a minus star?

    (1)
  • Chris S.

Just went there for lunch. Had the chicken mole which was more peanut butter'y than mole'y. The chips were warm, but unimpressive, as were the tortillas. You get a lot of grub, but getting the basics right is a must for more than 3 stars from this heah reviewer.

I thought the food servings were HUGE. The server was really friendly. But everytime we'd ask someone outside our server for anything they'd never bring it? Wassup with that. They'd say okay and then we'd never see them again...I mean this happened at least 3 times I can remember (chips, straw, box for our food). I went with my parents and it was enjoyable enough. I find it really comical though that my dad has the urge to address the server as "senor" or "amigo" every single time though. I mean when we go to a chinese resturant he doesnt address them with an ethnic colloquialism. He usually just says "excuse me". So that in itself is worth the value of going to a mexican resturant.

Decent Mexican Food. I have been here a few times, for some Mexican eatin' and some drinks. Very authentic atmosphere. I usually order the chicken fajitas at any restaurant, and these were pretty good, not the best I have had but quite descent! Only place where they actually make real skirt steak fajitas. And their freekin good! Their Pina coladas are the shit.. but place is over priced in my opinion... this location always smells like dish water. Gross. But their lil bar area isnt so bad if you get the crnr. table by the window

This is the place I usually go to when I've got a hankering for Mexican food. If you ask for their fajitas extra crispy, the meat is perfectly browned. The rest of the menu is pretty good, although I would recommend that you ask for no cole slaw (most dishes come with it and to me it's got a bit of a pickled flavor).

When we walked in we were immediately greeted and seated. We have been there before and thought we would look at the menu to try something new, but the mole is just too delicious. It'a a little too spicy for me, so I cut the heat with limes. I asked for some limes and all was well until we received the bill and were charged for the limes!!!! This is such a minor thing, but we had never been charged before and if they charged everyone every time, it would be ok, but it just left me with a bad taste. Make sure you ask if there is a charge for an item.

We were seated as we walked in. They served chips and salsa as we sat down. The chips were fresh and hot, but the salsa looked similar to ketchup. It tasted good, but it looked weird. Service was above average, food was delicious. I ordered the pork burrito; awesome. I would try them again if I wanted mexican.

Came here with the fiancee for dinner the other night. The restaurant parking lot is small, but we happened to get a spot right by the door. Lucky us; it was 14 degrees outside. We weren't "greeted". We simply let them know that there were 2 of us. We were seated in a back booth where we were provided with chips (a little stale) and salsa (very good). Our waiter brought us 2 glasses with ice and a pitcher of water (thumbs up!), then asked us what we would like to drink. I got a Coke and the fiancee had a margarita on the rocks. After contemplation on the margarita's flavor, he decided that he should have asked for Cuervo. I ordered the carne asada, my go-to Mexican dish. The fiancee got a combo meal of enchiladas and a tamale. The beans were obviously made in house, which was nice. Rice was standard. The meat was well-marinated and spiced, but a little dry in places. The fiancee was pleased with his choices and had enough to take home. The waitstaff was attentive, but not intrusive. The prices were standard for your average sit-down Mexican restaurant, such as Azteca. I would say that they are about on par with each other. If I had a choice, I would go to Jalisco's on Lake City Way.

Went there for lunch on Cinco de Mayo because it wasn't that busy, so I was extremely surprised by the lack of service. There were tons of people there "working" aka standing around talking and laughing. The Cinco de Mayo "specials" were terrible, $4 for a corona and no food specials. My boyfriend and I split Chicken Fajitas and the lady persisted on up-selling us Shrimp, which was annoying. Overall the food was OK, but definitely overpriced for what it was, not great at all. I'm sure my Korean grandmother could make better Mexican food.

Oh the disappointment I put myself through with Seattle Mexican food. The food was alright...similar to Jalisco's, Azteca, and La Plamera, Nothing special here. I lived in San Diego for 5 years so the Mexican food here is sub par. I'm on a quest though.

I grew up going to this place, so I decided to stop in for dinner on the way from the airport to my dad's place. Couldn't even find parking in the parking lot it was so packed. Walked in and got seated - there were several large groups of people there and it was boisterous to say the least - lots of kids yelling and screaming - ugh. Service was fairly quick for being so crowded. They brought chips and salsa right away. I'm not sure what other people were being served - I thought the salsa was delicious. Ordered a pollo asada burrito and a pastor taco. The pastor taco was DAMN good, better than many restaurants in San Diego. The burrito was just ok - weird stuff inside (broccoli?) and not nearly enough chicken. I definitely want to go back and try some of the carne asada stuff because to me, that's the true test of a Mexican joint.

I've gone here multiple times, mostly for lunch. The food is always tasty and the chips and salsa are always full. They are ok with split tabs which making lunching out with friends much easier. It's standard Tex-Mex but super tasty.

Chips-margaritas-tequila shots-ya. Thumbs up. Ya..very good margaritas. I can go there by myself or with a bud and just be happy with the chips-margaritas-beans & rice. They have their own parking lot. It's on Aurora and easy to get to and find parking.

I haven't been in a Las Margaritas in a long time. I've tried recently, and somehow Delilah and I were always trying to come here when they were closed. We should have stuck with that being a sign to just not come here...ever. The decor is a hodge podge of half remodels over the years. Or at least I hope so, if this was on purpose...wow. The service was spotty at best. They were heavily staffed, but you'd be hard pressed to find anyone if you needed service, and they couldn't seem to drop things and run from various tables, including ours, fast enough. All we wanted was to split some nachos and chill for a bit. They were awful. Soggy chips under a watery concoction of beans and ground beef, and almost nothing else. One olive. That's right. One whole olive in the center of the plate. I counted about 2 little onion dices and about a dozen sad little tomato dices. The only saving grace was the free chips in the basket were decent, so we could salvage the cheese nacho by nacho and have something to eat. The cheese was fabulous. Thick, melty and stringy, but with the total fail of everything else on the plate it was overall so disappointing. The 1/2 nacho appetizer is only $1 less than the full. I feel sorry for the schmuck that goes for that deal. Prices were naturally higher on everything since the last time I had graced a Las Margaritas, but my god, if you can't even make nachos........

I love the salsa. My family of 8 was seated quickly and offered excellent service on our last visit. Sure we got to sit in the bar rather than the dining room, but I think this was ingenious, plus the bar was empty. Our server and the bartender were super great, they came back, bringing more chips and bigger salsa bowls every time, plus they gave us a pitcher of water. I didnt love my veggie fajitas, but they werent bad. They did come with sour cream when I asked for not, but accidents happen. The salads though looked delicious. I am definetly getting this next time. Great big plates with exotic looking things on it. Mango maybe? My dad got a cactus dish. Definetly a pleasant change from azteca and we got a restuarant.com gift certificate and saved some money.

    1) I have never had such a bad experience at a restaurant that I had to whip out my iPhone immediately after dining. 2) I asked for the hottest salsa and instead got a super crappy (for lack of a better word) tasting, non-spicy salsa. The salsa that came with the chips was good though. 3) On a Monday evening at 8pm, it took 27 minutes to bring out our food after we ordered. Mind you, we ordered appetizers which came out the same time as our entrees. Oh, and the only reason we got our food was because another waiter asked us if we wanted more chips, we replied that we would like our food that we ordered a little ago. He brought the food out and it was warm. Usually Mexican food is steaming hot when you get it, so perhaps our waitress forgot about waitering the food to us? 4) The food was unpleasant. I LOVE Mexican food, and always finish my plate, but that was difficult to do in this case. 5) The waitress took our check and credit card and after about 10 minutes, we asked if we could get our card back and the receipt to sign. She said that she had not taken our card and went around the restaurant looking for where it could have gone. Interesting.

Went here the day before Christmas and had a wonderful Seafood Chimichanga, the waitress was very attentive and although football was on and I could hear it, it wasn't deafening.

I've had carne asada here both take-out and dine in. Currently it is my favorite place to get mexican food. I recommend eating in because well, everything is always better when you eat in. Still, they package everything well so dining out is not so bad either. The carne asada is excellent and so are the churros.

I haven't ever had a good experience here. The first time I went here, the waiter spilled sauce from my Arroz con Pollo on me. I would at least have expected them to offer to pay for dry cleaning my shirt. This was not the case. I returned here just last Friday and ordered the Pollo con Crema, which tasted good. My friends ordered the Chicken Fajitas. The next day, my friend Alex was vomiting, I had diarrhea, and my other friend Chris was physically ailing. I will not be returning. For God's sake, I didn't even get sick when I went to Cancun last year. Worse than Mexico.

The Bro and I were hanging out one late evening, and he wanted some late night Mexican that served booze. So driving around we came across Las Magaritas on Aurora. We thought why the heck not? We were seated promptly and chips and salsa were brought out. It took a while until someone came by to take our order, but we didn't mind as this was our first time here. I believe I ordered something like chicken enchilada and taco combo and the Bro ordered Carne Asada. He also ordered a good, strong sounding cocktail, but looked hella fruity, and not even strong! Haha, so much for being macho! My horchata was alright, had better. Our food came out relatively fast, it didn't look as appealing to our eyes or description on the menu. The Bro's food looked good. He said it needed something more. The more was our waiter out of the blue brought him some house made extra spicy sauce. I had a taste and eh, wasn't that spicy. The waiter came by and he nudged my bro and said the sauce is spicy and good que no? Bro was polite and said yes, but secretly added some Tapatio to add to the flavor. My dish was pretty bland, as was the rice and beans. The taco already got too soggy and fell apart when I attempted to pick it up, annoying. It was also place right by the enchilada and the sauce, so it soaked up that too. We ended up boxing most of our food and paid. Service was alright, spotty at times, they were way more attentive to the loud party of 6 that walked in at 10:00. Prices, are not really worth what we ate. Liked that the give you a whole pitcher of water and leave it at your table.

My favorite local Mexican restaurant - always great service with a smile, consistent quality of food (and some truly authentic dishes), fresh made chips and fresh made salsa never disappoint. I love the colorful chairs in the dining area! This place is always busy and has always treated us as special guests. I've never tasted bad food here. We take all of our out of town guests here! And oh, mmmmm the margaritas!

We moved here from Arizona a few years ago, kind of a mecca for good mexican food. We have been hard pressed to find somewhere we just love and believe me, we have tried many. We always seem to come back to Las Margaritas. They are consistent. Their chips and salsa are great. Friendly service. Authentic atmosphere. We enjoy that the children's menu isn't a slew of random "kid food" and actually offers burritos, tacos, and enchiladas for the youngsters too. My daughter loves their Panchita, which is pretty much just a cherry sprite. Last time we were there, they didn't give her an maraschino cherry, and when the server noticed, she brought a shot glass full of them to us, and my daughter was delighted. They have an extensive menu, but I am a fan of the chimichanga's, my husband likes their burritos. Last time he ordered the beef enchiladas and he didn't particularly enjoy them, said that he should have just went with the cheese enchilada and they would have been great. Their rice is a little on the bland side, but nothing a spoonful of salsa won't fix. Pretty good for a mexican fix when you are more than 1000 miles from the tastes you crave!

I live right down the street from this place, so it's always convenient to stop by. I wouldn't say it's "gourmet" Mexican food, but it's tasty and superior to the more decent chains out there. The prices are fair for the portion sizes, which are generous, and they're not stingy about the chips either which is a life saver after a long work day. I'm not sure what kind of beer crowd they have, but it would be nice to see a few additional Mexican beers more regularly on tap. I can always find something, but the selection seems pretty small. In the Northwest I kind of feel like beer selection is a must-have for any place trying to serve it because the competition is so plentiful. The pictures are fair representations of the food, and I think you get what you pay for. If you're looking for experimental flavors and exotic spices, I recommend the tapas bar Ocho in Fremont. This is hearty, consistent, filling, family Mexican-American fare. The staff are polite, attentive and engaging, and I always feel welcome when I visit. If it weren't so late I'd be going there now! :D

I appreciate that they have a few solid vegetarian options on the menu (although they aren't exactly gourmet, they are pretty tasty), as well as a Queso dip that is comparable to ones I've had in the Southwest. The salsa is hit and miss; sometimes it's awesome, sometimes it's merely ok, and sometimes it tastes like nothing more than cilantro and canned tomatoes watered down. Chips are always good, though. The margaritas are pretty good, too. I think the decor is kind of tacky and cheap-looking (there IS a way to pay homage to Mexico's use of bright colors without looking like a child's bedroom, but this ain't it), and the booths are very tight. My husband and I are always fighting for leg/foot space, and neither of us are especially tall or leggy. We tend to arrive when it's busy, and no disrespect to the other patrons, but it always seems like a really noisy group of people are seated at those big tables right in the middle of the restaurant--where they can annoy *everyone!* I think the layout of the restaurant (no special room for large parties) and the lighting (a little too bright overall, even when it's pitch-black outside) encourage this noise level. The bathrooms look like they have been remodeled recently and are a touch more sophisticated than the rest of the restaurant. Overall, I'd say this is a good place to go if you're hungry, out with a group of friends or family (the menu is pretty thorough in what selections they offer) and really want Mexican food, but if you're looking for something a little more intimate and refined in feel (both atmosphere and food quality) look elsewhere. And when you find that quieter, refined Mexican restaurant, please let me know!

We go here about once a month, because its kid friendly, and the portions here are so big, that you have lunch for the next day... Nothing fancy inside..about 20 tables, and a small lounge with about 5-6 tables...but the staff is what keeps us coming back..always nice and quick with there service.. I usually stick with the chicken burrito..with rice and beans...i know it does not sound exciting...but its tasty, and the price is right....8-9 dollars...and like i said, you will have leftovers... Lastly..if you get a window that faces towards aurora ave..u can have dinner theater, as you watch the ladies of the night do there thing.....

Honestly, 4 stars for the service. The staff remembers our faces and what we like to order. And the food here is way better than Azteca. It's not going to be the best Mexican food in the city, but it's close to my house and satisfies my cravings.

I wouldn't normally go out of my way to eat here, but I do think it's marginally better food than their other local chain competition.

this is my number one favorite restaurant in the entire world. I, went here last month and had the best time. The food was out of this world and the service was just the same. The waiter's were top notch. the all had smile on their faces and were oh so helpful. I, can't wait to go again.

Ole!

Delish!!!

Thank you!

Yaaaay.

Carne Asada very generous portion of meat with guacamole rice and beans, oh so delicious. Attentive service. I'll be back.

The food wasn't great, but they were very accommodating to our large group on a Saturday. Chicken taco was ok, beef enchilada was very taco bell-esque.

Decent Mexican Food. I have been here a few times, for some Mexican eatin' and some drinks. Very authentic atmosphere. I usually order the chicken fajitas at any restaurant, and these were pretty good, not the best I have had but quite descent! If you are driving down 99 and need a place to stop this is a great place to satisfy your belly!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
