Very nice place to take your lady for a glass of wine and a nice dinner. Probably around the best you can get for fine dining in the Tri-Cities. I really have nothing to complain about. My service was great, food cooked well, and wine finished nicely.

    (4) stars: outside patio and lounge during the summer months ..... (4) stars inside dinning ambiance, food preparation / creativity / presentation ...... (1) star for restaurant wine "mark-ups" ... it's really a rip-off.

In a sea of only national chains this place is a hidden gem. Great food and atmosphere with great outside seating. One of the top three in the area.

It's rare that I'm impressed enough with a meal that I feel I have to let the chef know. This place could hold its own with any restaurant in San Francisco. This is in Richland?! After reading the reviews, I chose to go for dinner, rather than lunch. The grilled meats were exquisite. My companion said his pork chop (his usual restaurant test) was the best he's ever had, and that's saying something. I got the filet mignon special, and I agree--they know how to do grilled meats. It was one of the best filets I've ever had. The wines were decent--I liked the syrah very much. (I didn't ask the server about the wines, so I don't know what her knowledge level was. But the service was great.) And the desserts--the pastry chef's pumpkin baklava was fantastic! (They HAVE a pastry chef.) And very creative. It's expensive and worth it. I don't think Richland has any idea what it has here. I hope they support it enough for Tagaris to continue with such high quality.

I went here for a group gathering. The outside porch area is perfect for this type of gathering. I do have to deduct one star because the service wasn't that great. She would forget drinks and took forever to get the bill. But the food was good.

The deck is great, the food was pretty good, service was ok (but a bit slow). The biggest problem: No kids menu... even a restaurant in a large city has something to offer kids... this place had a bunch of families... but not sure what the kids were eating as nothing on the menu catered to them.

Definitely the Best thing that the Tri-cities has to offer. The Buffalo is AMAZING! it was perfectly done (medium rare). The servers were very attentive & the atmosphere was great. The only negative thing was the price over $100 for two people, but I guess that tends to keep out the family diners so that you can have a quiet evening with friends or a date.

Good for a fancy meal out, you'll probably feel underwhelmed when you compare the salad, appetizer and dinner portions to their prices. However, their desserts are heavenly! I had the pasta with seasonal vegetables, it was alright but I felt like I could have made the same thing at home for much less. I guess I was expecting magic when I ordered a simple dish! I'd love to be adventurous one time and try some of the more exotic foods.. they had buffalo on our last visit. The meals are very relaxed, you don't feel rushed to leave at all and overall made for a great birthday dinner for my husband!

Mediocre and expensive wines, interesting but poor-tasting appetizers. The service is acceptable.

Wonderful restaurant, great service, wonderful bar and great wines. This is a top dollar place though so be prepared to shell out some $$$'s. Love the patio dining area, we often stay here a few hours with our friends from the area.

Pretty setting, but very disappointing. The food was very mediocre, often just because they weren't trying. For example, someone ordered the french toast which was listed as coming with berries. The toast was fine, but the syrup was cold (not just unwarmed, but fully cold), and there were 2 quarters of a strawberry on the plate largely as decoration, and that was what they considered 'berries'. The portions were small, the wine poor, and generally I would see no reason to return.

Not even close. Never received anything in the mail like the email said.

Good wine, but I was VERY disappointed. The service was horrible and the food was WAY overpriced. I was ready to pay $25 for my dinner, thinking that it would be amazing and it was so not. My chicken was dry and overcooked, and the "potatoes" looked like something previously frozen from Jack in the Box. The waitress was rude, and did not care that my friends and I were unhappy with our dinners. I ended up paying $60 for dinner, and I honestly would have rather gone to Mc Donalds. I will never go back.

This is an upscale restaurant/winery. Very clean. I came here for wine tasting. It's about $6-$7 dollars for about 5 wines. you pick either the red, white, or the mix (more premium wine). The waitress was really nice. She told us some history about each wine and was really patient. I mentioned really patient because we made it 5 minutes before the winery was closing for the day and I didn't feel like I was being rushed. I was grateful that the staff let us enjoy wine tasting. Plus, if you buy wine, they wave your wine tasting fee. The wines there are pretty good too.

Cant say I have ever had a bad experience here! Summers on the patio with live music and friends are the best. Probably the best spot to go for that kind of atmosphere and scenery in town. Very nice food and drink menu as well. Highly recommend for dates or group outings.

The food is just (a bit over priced) fine, the atmosphere lovely, but my biggest complaint....how can you charge $8 for a draft beer. I understand the beer industry and I would understand $8 for a speciality microbrew but this is not what they offer. What it feels like is they are trying to make a few extra bucks off the poor boyfriends that bring their ladies here and aren't major wine drinkers. Tagaris-help a guy out. I'm already spending $90+ on dinner to impress my girlfriend, let me atleast have a couple beers without getting totally fleeced.

Bartender was accommodating, great wine selection, knowledgeable staff, beautiful venue will definitely be returning soon

  • Trisha B.

Food is thoughtful and very tasty. We had the potato and meatball appetizer both very good and a large portion for the price. $9 for a wine flight, the wines are amazing. In fact we joined the wine club. A must try.

  • Julie M.

Meh, wine tasting requires a table and a wait so long we finally left before being served. Cute little place, if you want to taste wine you may need to bring your own.

  • Laren B.

Its really a bummer that this place isn't better than two stars because the space is huge and their is a ton of potential in the menu items. As many have said before me the staff was just plain not friendly and slow. Getting our waitress to take our order was taxing as well as getting her to tell about the wines from their very own winery. We all ordered their dinner flights. We stuck with reds and we were not fans of any of their wines. Their flat breads are bland. I don't know how something with a caramelized onion can be bland but it was. Every dish came out slowly and had little to no seasoning. I hope they can get their act together because its surely a waste to the space!

  • Valya O.

Great wine selection and reasonable prices. 5 for $10.appetizers like potato skins and flatbreads were very good

    (4)
  • Tom O.

Nice atmosphere. Wine is mediocre and way over priced. Food was tasty but again way over priced. My first glass of $21 wine was days old and smelled like it. The halibut was very flavorful but the cold cous-cous did not compliment the fish. I arrived several minutes before the end of happy hour but the waitress , after a 10 minute wait , refused to offer the happy hour price. Kinda rude. Other than not getting what I expected she did a good job. The place is nice but be prepared to pay dearly for mediocre food and wine. Not impressed personally.

    (2)
  • Mark K.

Wine at $15 a glass and beer at $8. Same beer is $4.50 any place else. 2 beers and 2 glasses of wine with 3 appetizers was $77. Way over priced this place is not worth going to period.

I've gone to this place twice. Once in a group on random Saturday and once on Valentines day. Going as a group on Saturday was really nice. If you're interested in having some wine but you're not sure what to try, ask to give a couple a taste. I did this with a few wines and I was able to find some that I really enjoyed. We had the mussels and these awesome shrimp both of which were pretty tasty. We followed up with the dessert trio which includes the chocolate bomb, cheesecake and seasonal sorbet. You never have to twist my arm when it comes to eating dessert and the trio just gives you an opportunity to have three desserts which is pretty awesome. Would you rather have one dollar or three dollars? One day of vacation or three days? One Star Wars prequel or three? Actually, those were all terrible and I haven't recovered fully from them...So the food was good, the service was good and the ambiance was pretty mellow. I also went with my wife for Valentines' day. We got reservations well in advance and because we have kids, we usually show up to things let. This time was no exception. Thankfully, our reservations were held even though we were 25 minutes late! Unfortunately we were put right next to a door that waiters and other folks kept going in and out of. No biggie, drinking wine fixes that. Also, an insanely loud and obnoxious table of older adults were right behind my wife. No biggie, drinking wine fixes that. It was pretty packed but it seemed like they had plenty of wait staff and our waiter kinda seemed to wander around. I had to get her attention a couple of times and it took a while to get our order in, some pepper for the salad, and our bill. No biggie, drinking wine fixes that. We started with the Patatas Bravas (potato wedges) that were well seasoned but seemed a bit under done. For the entre, I ended up getting a surf and turf with prime rib and lobster tail that came with potatoes au gratin, and my wife got a steak tenderloin that came with roasted potatoes. Both portions were pretty good size and we shared our food with each other. The prime rib was good, but the tenderloin was incredible. The lobster was great and her roasted potatoes were awesome. The only issue was that being close to the door resulted in cold food really quick. No biggie, drinking wine fixes that too, I guess...seriously how much do I need to drink? Don't get me wrong, I'm at a winery, but I came to enjoy a nice dinner too...so the food was pretty good, the service was ok and the ambiance was a bit rough. I don't think I'll go back on an event night but definitely for the occasional dinner.

All I have to say is this gets GRINGUITO, GATAs and THE DC BACHATA CONGRESS's PLATINUM APPROVAL! The wines were ridiculously amazing!!! I mean we bought a case and a half! BTW most of the bottles were 1/2 off on special... We have been to dozens of wineries and never taken home more then a couple bottles. The flat bread pizzas and dishes priced $5-$7 are a foodies dream!!! Ohh and talk about ambiance, amazing fountain brings us back to the French Rivera!!!!!

    (5)
  • Braden S.

So expensive. Mediocre service. Wine is subpar. You'll pay $15 for a glass of bad wine you can get for $10 a bottle at the store. Try any of the other wineries next to them to better food, better service, better wine, and better prices. Their patio is nice in the summer though.

I was on a business trip in Kennewick and I had loads of time to kill...so glad I did research on eateries prior to my trip to the Tri-City area. This place truly is a gem. It's not easy to find but it's a haven once found. The food was well-prepared and the wines are really quite fantastic. The patio seating area does make one feel like being seated in a mini-vineyard indeed. It's nice to sit out there during the day and enjoy the weather while reading and having a glass of wine.

Jeff, Jen and Rae are wonderful!!! Great wines and food!!!! Rockin wine related activities !!! Love tagaris!!!!!!' Nothing stuffy at this winery!!!

  • Lori P.

The wine here is excellent! I tried both red and white and both are excellent. The service is very good and people are friendly. The food is good; but a little pricey for the quantity/quality (thus only 4 stars).

  • Ella V.

Yes. That is pretty much all that needs to be said, but I will do the distance and say more. Tagaris is beautiful. Its probably one of the best places in the Tri-Cities to go. We usually go here a few times in the summer and then around the holidays. We ordered the cheese plate, which did not let us down. Our waitress told us they buy from a cheese-ery? in Walla Walla. The seasonal flatbread was pretty good, too... Our waitress was friendly, prompt, and knew her wine and cheese. Go here, you wont be let down.

  • Koni K.

my fave summer restaurant! outside patio seating, live music on weekends. ( I love blues) can't order from indoor menu when you dine on the patio, you must order from the patio menu which is very small. indoor menu is pricey but the buffalo is superb!!!

  • Cheryl K.

rather sad experience this evening. The service was spotty at best. Our server flew by once in a while. We had to ask for information about the daily specials, and sadly, he didn't really know the answers to our questions. The seasonal salad had such a strong vinegar flavor, the other ingredients were overshadowed. One friend had buffalo which was extremely fatty. That didn't make much sense for buffalo. One friend ordered Soup of the day,. The serving was no more than a quarter of a cup! You get a better deal in New York. Our bill was extremely high for the meal served . In general, the food was just ok. really nothing special. the most attractive part of the evening was the pumpkin cheesecake. there MUST be something better in the tri cities area. Try them first.

Since the prices are pretty high, we decided to go for lunch because their affordable "express plate" options.. The location is gorgeous! We sat out in their huge patio with fountain and sipped the best Chenin I've ever had.. My only complaint was my Caesar was wayyyy overdressed and I still taste it.. The server was very nice and helpful! Will definitely be back!

  • Brian Z.

Tagaris is a great place to eat. The food is fantastic, the wine is very good and the atmosphere is great. If you can put up with the so-so service it's definitely a good place to eat. Be warned...larger tables are right next to the back door and that can make for some very loud and cold dinners!

    (3)
  • DanandShelley T.

The ambiance is still wonderful, cannot beat the patio dining. The food is lovely even if a bit overpriced. It's the service that is annoyingly inconsistent. Some days you can expect five star service, other times not so much. Our last trip we were there shortly after opening, it was not even close to crowded yet we waited an hour after ordering for our food to arrive. To add insult to injury, not even an offer of a comped item....Unacceptable. We will probably return for happy hour but it will be a long time before we make this a meal destination again.

  • Dreamer D.

Seriously... people go here just because its the place to be seen. That's the truth! The one and only good thing about this place is the location, its a beautiful place. Inside and out. Outside on the patio, the water fountain and music are wonderful. That's the good...... Now the bad. The service is awful! Your lucky to flag someone down. We ordered a fancy burger. It was raw in the middle. The potatoes were cold and undercooked. The portions are small. We wanted some condiment's! Good luck with that, we couldn't locate our server. Others would be seen about we try to flag them down, they just say, "I'm not your server". The prices... OH my gosh are they proud of themselves! Way overpriced! The wine (and I do love good wine) is nothing to brag about. Really, its just not that good. I love my local wineries and am proud to live in the Columbia Valley. Hyatt, Cellar Masters, Columbia Valley, Preston..........all Better! That being said... if you want to be seen...and spend way too much money, have an appetizer and sip a glass of Riesling (forget finding a good red) and enjoy the beautiful location.

My new go-to whenever I am in the Tri-Cities. Awesome food and wine. Great service. The outdoor area is perfect for dining al fresco with the fountain and the fire pit. I had the shrimp with garlic butter appetizer, spring rack of lamb, and paired it with their 2005 BoarDoe. One of my best meals this year!

This is a beautiful place to hang out with friends on a summer evening. I went with a friend on the Saturday of boat race weekend, knowing it would be packed. It wasn't yet full when we arrived, and we were seated at a table for two beside the water feature. Very nice, except that the sun was going down (too slowly) and shining directly in my face. There were other open tables, but they weren't going to give us a 4-top for two people on a busy Saturday night. Our waiter was so wonderful. He got an umbrella and after two attempts found a base that would work, so he did everything he could to make us comfortable. Much appreciated. There was a band, which we were looking forward to. We had enjoyed the band playing last time were were there. Unfortunately, this music wasn't as much to our taste, and very loud, but most people seemed to be enjoying them. The food I have had is always good. On this visit, I ordered the Greek Salad. I do, however, think that for the portion size, the prices are too high. $8.00 for a "starter" salad is too much. The 2010 chardonnay we shared was the best Tagaris wine I have tried.

  • Julian H.

I think Tagaris has come very close to having a lovely outdoor experience: large attractive patio, fountain, live music. Unfortunately we sat by the water and there were mosquitoes. But the fountain is fun and the patio is charming. The wine was good, so everything was going well, until the food came. The portions are TINY and terribly overpriced for what you get. I had read this in other reviews prior to going but was still a bit shocked. I would compare the value to what you would expect to get at a sports stadium. To add insult to injury, some of the apps were served in paper trays. I might go back but only after dinner.

    (3)
  • Andrea C.

I really like going to Tagaris for their happy hour, 4-6 $5 beers, wines and appetizers. The atmosphere is lovely, especially in the summer. The outdoor section is really nice with a fountain and a firepit. There is live music almost every weekend during the summer months, which is always a lot of fun. I agree that Tagaris is a bit pricey and some of the dishes aren't that great. I'm thinking of the bread and hummus in particular, it is extremely small. So I find things that are consistent and stick with those. Flatbreads are good and so are the potatoes (patatas bravas). For dinner, I recently had the paella which was excellent. If you want a fancy place for drinks or dinner, I recommend Tagaris fully. It is classy and they will let you leave your car overnight in case the wine just doesn't stop flowing.

Found another fun restaurant destination in the Tri-Cities, sweet! This one is definitely getting thrown into my regular rotation. Went there twice now, one in the dining area for a friends birthday and then again later for a date out on the back patio (no food just wine). The dining room experience was fun. It has a classy atmosphere where I can be dressed a little nicer and not stick out. I got a flatbread pizza since I was there primarily for drinks, but the flatbread was put together proper and had some tasty creative flavors going on. Its really nice to find a place that actually cares about plate presentation. I will defiantly be returning to try some of the dinner entrees, I had my eye on the bison steak. The patio is awesome. I'm a big fan of drinks on patios during the warm weather, and the Tagaris patio is hands down the best one I have been to in town so far. They have a good selection of wines, and they were very helpful when trying to make sense of the selections. Im still trying to figure this wine thing out but Im getting there. Anyway, ended up getting a bottle of the boar-doe and was pretty happy with it. The fountain is a nice touch, the music may have been a touch too loud but unbearable. My only real complaint was the 'skeeters flying around out there. Cant fault them for that though. So I give this place two thumbs up. Why is it though most wine bars seem to close so early, even on weekends?

    (5)
  • Todd B.

I don't have much to say about this one. My wife and I had a lovely dinner here. We were out on the patio, it was really nice. The menu is small but the food was done very well.

Tagaris is a very nice dining experience. The building seems to be a renovated church (or something similar), and the inside is nicely decorated with deep red walls, and black/gold accents. It's an atypical, yet classy setting which was refreshing. The wait staff was friendly and informative. To get started, they brought a Focaccia + balsamic vinegar/wine combo which was delicious. Hubby ordered a bison stake which was tasty and enormous- we'll be eating on that for a while. I ordered the stuffed pork tenderloin which was pretty good though I'll likely venture out & try something different soon. Based on the quality, presentation & taste, the food is very fairly priced. That said, the wine was too expensive even though it was pretty right-on in terms of taste. Will definitely go back here!

  • Travis N.

It doesn't get much better in the Tri-Cities. The atmosphere is Seattlesque, the service is good (Not Great), and the food was tasty! I definitely recommend Tagaris! My only complaint would be the hours, why does every place have to close by 9PM????

    (5)
  • Jennifer C.

Tagaris presents a vast and beautiful facility that includes not just a tasting room but a full bar and Mediterranean restaurant. In addition to the elegant indoor dining area, there are also ample outdoor tables giving a view of an impressive water fountain. We sat at the gorgeous copper-top bar for our wine tasting, and to be honest the hostess rubbed me the wrong way at first. She was in my opinion a touch condescending and seemed to really expect patrons to have an above-average knowledge of wine. Fortunately, she did warm up a bit, although the experience was pretty impersonal as we heard her give the same canned spiels to us and those nearby. My favorites of the batch were a "Rhon-Za" and a Pinot Gris. I'd like to come back sometime to dine, as I've heard good reviews on the food at Tagaris.

  • Aaron H.

Horrible, rude, snobby service. It wasn't busy and they acted like they were too good for nicely dressed, late 20 somethings, looking to spend some serious money. Not a fan, don't reccommend it! Go to Barnard Griffin instead which is on the same road!!!

    (1)
  • Jim D.

Food and ambiance are excellent. A step above anything you'll find in the Tri-Cities. Hats off to the chef. The problem is the inconsistent service. It's always something with the friendly but inexperienced servers.

    (3)
  • Cathy G.

This is Richland for gods sakes! This is one of a handful of the nicest places to go. (Red Lion, Monterosas, the Greek place, 3 Margs..) GO Appreciate the atmosphere. Learn about wine. (It's one of the only things to do here Richland). The food is divine.

    (5)
  • Ursula J.

Food was really good. The service was a bit slow. It was raining so we had to sit inside, but we took a walk around the patio after lunch and could understand how wonderful it would be to eat outdoors listening to music. Will come back again.

  • Lemy R.

I have eaten at Tagaris once and that was plenty. Everything was extremely salty. They had this soprano saxophone guy play inside and he was mic'd up. It was so loud we had to shout to the person next to us. It is expensive and pretentious. Oh, and I can buy a $5.00 bottle of wine at the local safeway that is better than any of the Tagaris Swill. The outdoor courtyard is very nice, but doesn't make up for the bad over-priced wine and food. I don't recall the service, so it must have been decent

  • Whitney S.

My first visit was below par with horrible service and cold food. However, a business dinner took me back not too long ago and I was impressed with not only the service (expedient), but the food! Happy camper I was :) We took advantage of the large patio spread and sat near the waterfall, but still had a view of the indoor area which was decadently decorated with dark mahogany, rich colors, and great lighting! It's worth mentioning however, that our server was not knowledgable by any standard of the word on the wine they carried and being a winery turned winery with a bar/restaurant, I thought that was peculiar. I noticed a lot of younger, cute female servers and come to think of it, my server last time was cute, but dense as well. Oh well, I was with my regional and another person who knew what was going on, so we tried the 2006 "BoarDoe". (74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 5% Malbec) The Bordeaux style blend is a huge robust mouthful of jammy black fruit with hints of cedar and tobacco, smooth and soft on the pallet, chewy chocolate and concentrated fruit broadens long elegant finish... Yum! I'm a huge Malbec fan and even though it only had 5% Malbec in it, the Malbec was the star of the show in my mouth. Before the wine came, we all split a Margerita Flatbread with ample pesto, mozz and pine nuts which is great. Next came the wine and after a few little nips, my Tortelli (house made pasta stuffed with goat cheese and tossed with summer veggies), tasted even better! I was impressed with the Tortelli because to do a house made pasta right, you have to start with top notch products, and most people cannot get a house made pasta right because they fudge on the ingredients. My counterpart to the left enjoyed the Bison Steak which proceeded with "mmmms" and groans, as well as my counterpart to the right who had the Spring Rack of Lamb. I guess the guy to my right is a huge lamb connoisseur and he was impressed so that was good enough for me. 2 stars for the first time we were there, and 4 stars for the 2nd time I was there makes Taverna a 3.5 for me. I'll go back just to see if they can change my mind yet again, but until then, they have to earn it :)

$8.00 for a beer? We WON'T ever return. On top of that, we were told the expensive beer (price conveniently not listed) was from Iron Horse, but it was from another brewery, Whitstran. Out of two orders, one of us received the wrong beer, which was good so we let that go. However, when the bill came and we noted that a pint of beer, wrongly named, and not the one ordered was $8,00 we laughed over the ridiculous price! Having traveled to many fine cities, and great establishments, we've NEVER paid that for a regular pint. The wine was disappointing too, once we got a case home, the Eliseo 2007 Syrah is truly undrinkable, a regretable case purchase. Nice atmosphere is all they've got.

Very disappointed as we arrived a little after 8 pm last night and we're turned away!! There was another party ahead of us, who had even JUST called and was told they were seating until 9pm--- they were also turned away. It was our first evening here in the Tri-Cities, and we had been anticipating for days going to Tagaris as our first dinner out. Also surprised that Tagaris didn't even counter-offer with an incentive for us to come back... free wine-tasting, or dessert, or something. They suggested BoneFish would be open, so we went there. It was really nice and very tasty and we do appreciate that recommendation.

Oh yes. This is food. Pea vine and radish in a rosé vinaigrette. Asparagus flatbread. Both were right on target. The pea vines could have been a touch longer to make cutting easier, but that's so insanely picky... The flatbread was *BROWNED*, which is a rarity! Not burnt, but wonderfully crisp with a bit of the dark brown that comes from the right heat and time in their oven. The cuisine was definitely fusion with inspirations from all around the Mediterranean. I believe we had their Red Roan and Pinot Gris, although I could be wrong. Both were very good. The red was a perfect meal wine. I only had a small taste of the white, but the white had a nice spice.

What a great place! I felt like I was on vacation. They have a great atmosphere for patio dining, and the staff was wonderful. We had the chorizo and shrimp flatbread with the Malbec and couldn't have been happier.

This is an outstanding place - i believe the best place in Richland!! Really i mean it! The decor is fitting for a big city, the menu and wines are outstanding and don't be shy to ask your waiter to pair a wine with your main dish - it makes the whole experience richer. It is on the pricey side but it is an experience that shouldn't be missed!

I took my Dad to Tagaris for lunch today, great lunch and service our server Lacey was great. I felt like I was in Napa Valley however without their fine wine selection, LOL still one of the nicest places in the Tri-Cities for dining, keep up the good work. I will visit again soon upon returning to the area.

Visited 3/2011. Excellent meal. Great wine flight with dinner. New york strip bison was cooked just right. Came back next night to sample the dessert and pick up a case of wine.

So bummed about going here. We had heard it has a great area outside to sit as we had just driven over from Seattle that day. We got there and there was a live band that was over the top LOUD. Sat inside. Server was pretentious and not good at offering anything. The cheese platter was bleh (boring flavorless cheeses), the Walla Walla onion App was burnt to a crisp (we took one bite and pushed it aside-server never took it off tab) and the boys Buffalo NY steak was like chewing a shoe (for $31.00 a plate). The only decent thing we had was the bottle of BoarDoe and the chocolate cake dessert (how can you screw any of that up?). Spent $182.00 (with tip). We were disappointed and will not be back. Save your money or go somewhere else.

Beautiful location, crummy service!! Walked in with a good looking cree, ready to spend some money, got bad looks and terrible service!! The staff here acts like they are better then you and very snobby!!! Who the hell do they think they are?!? We are in the tri cities for Gods sake!!! Definitely do not recommend this place to ANYONE!!!! Go to Barnard Griffin instead...it's right next door and the wine is better!!!

I am visiting town. Went for wine and tapas tonight with my family. Wine was good, food was decent, but service was disappointing. Our waiter was patronizing and arrogant for the duration of our visit. We were never offered any information about any of the wines, or the winery itself. I came prepared to buy several bottles of wine, and ended up leaving after one glass. I took my business to another winery and was very happy.

The food is good and the environment they've created is great, there isn't a bad thing to say about the outdoor patio area. I know when I walk in that I'll be paying a little more than the average Tri-City restaurant but am happy to do so as they use quality ingredients, have attentive and polite servers, and overall deliver well on their meals and appetizers. However I was left with a bad taste in my mouth after my last visit. I'll typically get wine and don't mind the high prices as that's what you expect with wine, but a couple days ago I was in the mood for beer and ordered a couple over the course of the night. I didn't notice until checking my receipt the next day that they charged me $8 per beer. $8 for a pint of generic beer is ridiculous. If I recall correctly it was a Manny's; nothing special or unique. It didn't come from a small specialty brewery or take more than 30 seconds for the bartender to pour. There was no added value created by Tagaris. If they would have charged me $6 I would never have given it a second thought, however that extra $4 I paid for 2 beers is really eating at me for some reason. It just seems so cheap and unclassy on their part...even a little pretentious maybe? I can't figure it out, however I can say that the $4 which seems so important to them on my $100+ check directly resulted in this 2 star review and will make me think twice before heading back to Tagaris for a meal.

Really wanted to like this place, but whatever. The food is good to very good but Tagaris doesn't deliver on other key areas. Don't give me a table next to the door when the place is half empty. Half of our table had freezing air on our backs every time a server went through. Also, why is your wine so expensive? If you're going to ask 21 for a glass of 2010 wine it better be at least a 90 pt wine otherwise it's just a let down. Some warm rolls and a little olive oil would have gone a long way.

Wines are decent, but to eat lunch here is something I would never do again, especially since you can go to John Bookwalter and get AMAZING food and superb service. The service is terrible to say the least, especially from the guys. During the tasting, and during lunch... there's just an arrogance about these guys, like they don't want to lift a finger to make your experience enjoyable. Will not come back even if they are offering 50% of wine on Sundays. I'll go to Bookwalter or Wine O'clock any day of the week before I come back to Tagaris.

We love Tagaris! Not only is the food wonderful and the staff super friendly, but the wine is worth the trip alone. They also do a great job with small children or private events.

I was really looking forward to this stop as I heard it was a pretty cool place in the area and has bands on the patio in summer. The location is very nice but We were there for wine tasting only. We had to taste at the bar so it felt more like a restaurant than a tasting room (it is a full service bar and restaurant but would have felt nice to offer just a tasting area in the large space). We tasted the wines and I was not impressed but even more so the bartender was rude which made this stop even more unenjoyable. I would not go back for wine as they are mediocre and way over priced. A stop next store at another tasting room offered better wine, service and prices. I hear the food is good so we may return for dinner in the future.

Super expensive - No reasonably priced item on the menu. The least expensive item was the $14 greek burger. It came with potato chips. It was overcooked and gave me heartburn. They didn't even have a plain old regular ranch / blue cheese side salad. This is the epitome of excessive greed in action.

We had dinner here and it was wonderful.. The service was great (thanks "Chuck") and we all enjoyed our drinks as well as the food. It was relaxed and such a great atmosphere. We will be back on our next visit!

Beautiful restaurant and the food was way better than I expected it to be. Be careful, their drinks are really stiff! The service was good, but this place is so much more. If I am ever in the area again I will definitely stop by for dinner on the patio to sit back, relax, and enjoy this beautiful setting.

We came to Pasco for our daughters' soccer game. We happened upon Tagaris for lunch and wine tasting after. What a treat-the food was delicious (home made everything even the scrumptious crinkle cut chips). The coconut lavender cake topped off our meal perfectly. We also enjoyed the yummy wines. We will come again-even if there is no soccer involved!

*** Tagaris has the best patio in the Tri-Cities. *** Really this update should have been written months ago when we had warmer temperatures and had a sun to worship. Yeah, I hadn't truly entertained everything Tagaris had to offer up until this last summer. This is when I was introduced to their patio and outside dining areas. Man, if you thought the dining experience inside was pimp, chill out outside (well, when the weather is accommodating). With a huge fountain, fire pit, lots of cool landscaping, and live bands on the weekends---there's no place like this. I mean, Tagaris' space would be able to hold its own with any joint in a city. There is also a dining area to the side with a full bar which is roof-covered, but is also open to the patio. Yeah, this place may be pricey, and a tad hoity-toity, but who cares. This place deserves to be that way. There aren't many places to take a visitor to impress them in the Tri-Cities, but you can always count on having this place in your quiver.

Came to Tagaris on a weekend getaway and to visit a friend. Three of us went to Tagaris for dinner, wine and live music on their outdoor patio. Their patio is surrounded by the restaurant and indoor dining room and is HUGE!! They have at least one fireplace which was actually quite nice and warm. They have a covered area and uncovered area. Several tables, several servers, but a small kitchen so definitely expect a wait for your food unless you just come for wine. Our group ordered two of their seasonal flatbreads (chicken, asparagus, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, mozzarella), side of seasonal veggies, caprese skewers, arancini, and their rack of lamb dinner, plus a bottle of their House Malbec. The wine was delicious and reasonably priced. The flatbreads were also quite good. The arancini were huge and well liked at the table. The caprese skewers were good as well though the portion was on the small side. The lamb dinner did not come out with the rest of the food and the person who ordered the lamb didn't receive their food for at least 20 minutes after the rest of the food was brought to the table. This is a huge no-no in my book. The lamb was also slightly overcooked to the diners preference. The food is good but overpriced and the service is slow. The atmosphere of the patio with the band playing on Friday and Saturday nights is definitely worth a visit though.

Went on a Saturday with no reservation. Got seated right away and our waitress, Jennifer was very attentive. She has a very good working knowledge of the menu and wine list. Despite what other reviews have said, we didn't have to wait long at all for any of our courses or wine refills. Live music was the topping on the cake. The next time we venture to the dry side of the state we will definitely make this a "must stop".

After a day of roaming Red Mountain for the Spring Barrel activities, we decided to stop in for an early'ish dinner at Tagaris. Got a glass of wine and ordered dinner, nothing fancy; ceasar salad, greek burger and the steak. Over the next hour, our server assured us that our food would be up shortly. After the hour was up, I asked to settle the bill for what we had been given (which they did comp for us) and we departed to go find some food elsewhere. In my opinon, it wasn't that busy as half the tables were empty, the outside didn't seem that full and it was the Spring Barrel weekend. Shouldn't have taken that long to get our meals to us. It's been a while since we've eaten there, looks like it will be a while longer before we try again.

My husband and I both LOVE Tagaris. We don't go often because it is a little bit pricey... but when you receive great service and great food. I expect to pay a little more for it. On our last visit, we went for lunch. Yeah, it was to save a few bucks and it was a nice day out, so why not? We started with the Olive appetizer. It was really good, and interesting, with some olives that I've never had before. And there were enough to share. I opted to order the Greek salad for lunch while my husband went with the lamb calzone. Oh, and he also order a Cesar salad to be served before his meal. To wash all mine down, I went with the house red sangria, hubby opted for some berry hot tea. My sangria as perfect... and hubby said his tea was good as well. First out were the olives... as mentioned before, it was a fairly good sized bowl with a good variety. I think in the future I wont order this appetizer only because there were a couple of olives that I wasn't crazy about. Next out was the hubby's Cesar salad. It looked GREAT and it wasn't long before I was begging for a taste. Once he obliged, that was a MAJOR mistake. I was helping him eat it. When he got finished eating it there was still a little bit left on the plate... So, the waitress comes around and asks if he is finished? I said... NO! You can leave the plate. And even though I knew I had a salad coming for myself... I wasn't going to let a single piece of romaine go to waste on that plate. So, it's time for our meals now... My Greek salad was OK. Not the best I've ever tried... but it was OK. Let me explain... On the menu it did say that there was basil in the vinaigrette... and I'm not a huge fan of basil... SO, I thought... well... maybe it wont be THAT strong. Well... to me... someone who really doesn't like basil... it WAS too strong. I think if you are someone who likes the taste of basil... you'd enjoy this salad. So, I cannot put this one off on the restaurant. I ordered it KNOWING that it had basil... and I wasn't VERY disappointed because I still had some Cesar salad to finish. LOL! The hubby LOVED his calzone and the surprise was... that was the first time he has ever tasted lamb. It made him a fan. He even took his leftovers home and had them that night for dinner... said it was just as good as when it was served to him fresh. I tried the calzone, and me NOT being a fan of lamb wasn't crazy about it... but again... I cannot blame the restaurant for that... I'm just not a fan of lamb. So, all and all... Tagaris is one of our favorite places to eat in the Tri-Cities... and we go as much as we can. And when we have guests in town, we ALWAYS make sure to take them to Tagaris. It's one of places we want them to remember about the Tri-Cities.

This place is definitely classy and makes you forget that you are in the horrible tri-cities. The flatbreads were amazing but it took a while for them to arrive. The service was alright. The elevator was broken and we had a friend with us who had trouble walking due to a recent surgery, no tables were available downstairs so it was very difficult. Seems like that may be against the law to not have seating for someone who is handicapped. Not sure if I'll go back.

Great find in Tri-cities for dinner. Outdoor patio is beautiful (with heaters if you get a chill). Great pairing of reds with entrées. Bison cooked perfectly. Moroccan mashers were heavenly. Tapas - Patatas bravas with aioli was as authentic as in Barcelona. However, the pre-dinner cocktail was average and the dessert menu did disappoint.

I don't like their wine but I love sitting outside in the summertime.

Only reason it's 2 stars is that the food and wine are ok. The service is abysmal - and that's only because I can't think of a harsher word to use. ADDENDUM: I got a case and asked if I could have something I could ship it in. Instead of packing it for us we were handed a box and told to pack it ourselves. Our server was inattentive and unknowledgeable and all around uninterested. Here's a tip, get people who care about the customer.

Can be expensive but the food, wine and entertainment are all great. The perfect time to go is on a warm summer night when you can sit on the patio outdoors and enjoy a glass of wine with friends while listening to whatever band is playing that night.

Great atmosphere....overpriced mediocrity....really Tri Cities? We are sorry Wine O' Clock...we cheated on you...it will never happen again...it took us 3 flights of wine to find one equivalent to the Barnard Griffin bottle at Walmart for $8. There are a lot of houses in the hills, why doesn't this area demand cullinary excellence? Apparently it is true; you don't have to have a palate to be wealthy. Hopefully their mixed drinks are better than their food and wine, but I am sure they are grossly over priced as well.

Would be 4 stars with better wait staff, but Tagaris had some of the worst service I've ever got in my life. Great outdoor area often with music on the weekends in the summer. Good food, but the waiter was uneducated and unable to accurately tell me basic ingredients to work around my dietary restrictions. I was served exactly what I asked them not to serve me. I could go on and on about how absolutely ridiculous the service was, but I wouldn't even waste your time. I wouldn't go so far as to say avoid the place altogether, but leave yourself lots of time and don't expect service to match the quality of the food/wine/ambiance. I'll go back with out-of-town guests. Maybe.

This restaurant is highly priced and everything costs extra, right down to anchovies on your Caesar, assuming they remember to bring them. The meal takes a long time to prepare, we waited over an hour. And it's noisier than any place I've ever been! With that said the meal was very good. But I wouldn't go back. It's just too darn noisy, and the restaurant wasn't even full. We had to literally SHOUT to hear one another. And you can forget about talking to the person across from you.

I really like the tasting room here. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only concern I had with the tasting room was they did not offer complementary crackers to clean your pallet while tasting different wines. With the price of some of the wines being in the $30.00 per bottle range it would be nice to this one detail taken care.

Food is meh, pretentiously expen$$ive. Can't beat the patio/fountain scene. Good place in TC for hanging out outdoors with a glass in hand.

Lunch, not dinner. The lunch at Tagaris is really good, lots of variety, great outdoor seating in the summer. Dinner, go next door to Bookwalter, Tagaris needs a change of menu and they need to look at the map, they are not Seattle Quality and should not be charging Seattle prices. Let me state their wine is up and coming. Management needs to be more hands on the food, they are a front runner but expectations do not meet results. Go for the lunch.

Definitely one of my favorite places in the Tri-Cities! I've been here for tastings, dinner, happy hour, and special events. Yes, it is a bit in the "pricey" range, but it's so great! I enjoy their wines (the Merlot is my current favorite, the Malbec is good too, definitely sweeter than your regular Malbec) For Happy Hour I would have to suggest the onion rings (that come with this amazing aioli), the albondegas, patatas bravas, or one of the flatbreads. For dinner my go-to is the greek burger, but the tenderloin, pork chop and spanish clams (again, husband's recommendation) are definitely up there! The service is great and atmosphere is relaxing and enjoyable. The events I've been to there are great and usually held in their outside bar which is amazing during the summer season. Their patio is quite large and they have a fire pit for those chillier evenings. Be sure to check out their event list for local bands during the summer months and special events such as Easter Brunch, etc. A go-to for us! YUM!

I *love* Tagaris for lunch, and it's their dinner prices that keep me from giving a 5-star rating. At dinner? Totally over-priced. At lunch? Totally affordable. They have $9 express lunch plates that are perfectly sized (as in, if you're a big eater, you'll think they're too small) for a lunch. The wine is acceptable, but I'm not a huge fan, and actually prefer the wine of both of their neighbors (Barnard Griffin and Bookwalter) over their selection. I think it is safe to say that this place is the "nicest" restaurant in the Tri-Cities, and I'll continue to go back for lunch so I can save my precious dollars for extra bottles of wine next door.

What a gem! Had a fabulous dinner last night at Tagaris Taverna. Gorgeous venue, with comfortable seating, romantic lighting. The service was great--our friendly waitress filled us in on what to do in the Tri-Cities area. We opted for small plates, so we could try a variety of foods. Started with a nice mezze plate with three spreads and pita, then shared a crispy and spicy shrimp and chorizo flatbread (gluten-free option), seasonal salad and a wonderfully savory clam appetizer with artichokes and Parma ham. Tagaris has an excellent wine list with many of their wines by the glass. We shared a fruit-forward Michael's Vineyard Barbera--loved it so much I bought a bottle to take home! Also shared a glass of Chenin Blanc--great wines, great food.

The seasonal flatbread is pretty good and so is the lentil soup. It's a nice place so the prices are a little on the high side. Nice open kitchen and patio. Our service was good too! I can see Tagaris being the trendy place in town...and it should be! The owners must have dumped some serious cash in this place to make it look nice. The fipped over chairs in the dining area looked shitty. I understand it was a slow Sunday afternoon and they were trying to get everyone to sit in one area but it just looked tacky. This wasn't a deal breaker for me. Next trip I will have to come in for dinner!

A must for a tri-cites trip. Great food and atmosphere and do a 6 sampler/tasting for $6 and they wave it if you buy a bottle! The wine isn't the greatest and their food is a little spendy.

  • Christine H.

When I first went here, I was very impressed. I got the fondue and loved it (although I feel like we got a bit gipped on the amount of cheese) and the wine is quite good. Atmosphere is nice, waitstaff was great. Every time I go here, however, it gets a little less amazing to me. I think this is partly because I feel like I spend a lot of money for a small amount of food. But, it's a winery so I suppose I should expect that it be pricey. Nonetheless, I really do like their wines and the waitstaff has been nothing but friendly to me and my friends. If I'm going to spend the kind of money they charge here, I would rather go to Katya's or Barnyard, however.
