My boyfriend took me here and told me it was better than some of the taco trucks we tried. I didn't believe him at first but now... I'm thankful that he took me here. I had some of the best enchiladas and torta ever. I can't wait to come back and try some of their other stuff.

This place has long been a favorite of mine. A Mexican restaurant with a loyal clientele ranging back a decade has got to be doing something right! Their tacos are no bigger than 4 inches across, so you can eat a whole plate of tacos without feeling guilty. Plus they load them with fresh pico de gallo and homemade salsas. I have been back two of the past 3 nights for their fish taco special- 3 fish tacos for $3.60. Filling, satisfying, healthy, and cost effective! They have an impressive salsa bar with salsas that range from mild to fire. I think there were 5 varieties when I went. And their chips and salsa are free even with a takeout order! Take that Chipotle! I have recently discovered that they are a franchise and have locations in northern Bellevue and another near the airport- two places where I spend a lot of time!

This restaurant is our go to Mexican place when we are in Renton! Food is pretty authentic Mexican Food. My spouse grew up in Southern CA, near the Mexican border, and the food at this restaurant is comfort food for him. Lots of Hispanics frequent this restaurant. They keep the dining area clean, and the service is good. The servers are friendly and nice. You order and pay at the counter, then they give you a number to place on your table and they deliver your food at your table. I usually order enchiladas with rice and refried beans, and my hubby normally orders the tacos. They have a bar where you help your self to salsa, pico de gallo, radishes and pickled carrots, and lime wedges.. If you order a beverage, they give you a glass and you fill it yourself. Nothing fancy, but very tasty food. Lots of parking around the restaurant, and there is a drive through where you can order food to go. Resstaurant is kid friendly and very casual

Every time I've driven past Taqueria El Rinconsito, I've noticed the long line in the drive-thru, so I finally decided to see what all the fuss was about. First and foremost, the drive thru is fairly slow so be prepared to wait for about 10 minutes if there's more than 1 car in line. With that being said, the 10 minutes is worth the wait...at least for the shredded beef gorditas (it's the only item I've tried so far). At only $2.50, you get a large serving of meat, refried beans, cotija cheese, and tomatoes. It's mmm mmm good!

Came on advice from others. They were busy! I enjoyed a 3 taco plate that was really tasty. Good flavors with the onions and cilantro. The rest of the meal options we tried were just ok. I would come back for the tacos.

I have not been able to find good Mexican food here in Washington except for this place. I have been here a few times and its so good! I love how they have free refills on the aguas. The horchata is perfection! Just like Mexico! So far everything I have tired here is so good. Its a bit pricey and there is one rude cashier, but the other ladies are so nice and so is the owner? I am not sure if he is or not but he is very nice.

So disappointed in this place! I've been going here since 2007. They use to be tasty and a good deal. Then they raised their prices recently ( in some cases going from $6.99 to $9.48 for their burrito plate) and reduced their portion sizes. (come on really 1/2 cup of rice? those are filler foods for goodness sake) Also the quality/care has gone way down. Things are missing or gorditas burnt... Don't be fooled, they are only busy because they are drive thru, the food is poor the prices are poor and you are missing out on really good (authentic) Mexican food by going here. Do your tastebuds and wallet a favor from someone who has been in the area for over 13 years go to El Maestro del Taco they put care into their food.

Just left the drive threw, too the worst food, service, and young girls who cared more about flirting and talking then, taking care of the people there are serving. as people were complaining, and waiting 20 minutes in a drive threw.. they continued mocking the customer's, in front of others. .. never will we go back, nor would I ever recommend this place, I will actually warn people, not to go there.. total mood killer for our night.. thanks

This is a great little place for Mexican food. It's fairly authentic also. Friendly atmosphere and wait staff. If I weren't watching the amount of carbs I am eating, this would be a regular place for me.

Interesting layout for a Mexican restaurant with drive through service even though this place isn't really a fast food type of restaurant. Not a very interesting looking interior, but at least it was clean. The one gal who took our order did all the bussing and serving of the food to all the tables. I had ordered a burrito and it was a nice big size. It came with rice, beans and beef. I liked the fact that they had a salsa bar where you can add different spiciness of salsas. They had from not hot at all to very hot. You can also put your own pico de gallo on your order from the salsa bar. Too bad it was dried out from being out too long otherwise it would've been great. It's a bit more expensive than what I thought it would be since my gf only got soft tacos and 3 of them costed more than $5. For my burrito it was a bit over $5, but worth it to me. Plus drinks were overpriced. Next time I come I wouldn't mind giving their $4.99 weekday lunch special to see what they offer. On a side note, they don't offer any restrooms to restaurant patrons.

The food and service here was great... I had the veggies tacos w rice as a side. They gave me a whole platter of rice I was expecting a small cup! The veggie tacos were BOMB. Just the perfect amount of beans rice cheese peppers onions and lettuce for the little tacos. You buy multiple tacos at once and they are very inexpensive yet taste amazing. I would go if you are considering this one

I dropped by expecting some fast food taco after seeing the drive thru but it was much better than that. I ordered 3 fish tacos for 3.60 - an unbelievable price. The fish was crispy, flavorful and went so well with the taco. The sizes were definitely filling even for the cheap price. The tacos were made on the spot, none of that freezer stuff, so it tasted piping hot and fresh. I couldn't have asked for better tacos for 3.60.

Delicious and wallet friendly: the $5.99 pollo special - 1 1/2 lbs of chicken and sides of rice, beans and tortilla.

We come here often, but always take our food to go. This place has a drive thru which is nice when you have kids. My favorite is the burrito plate with steak. The regular burritos and tacos are good too. They used to serve the best nachos, but got rid of those. Try all the sauces to decide which one you like. I like the green one.

  • Erika J.

Amazing tacos! I love getting the chicken tacos as well as the pork. I've only been via the drive through but it has always been fast, fresh tasting, and hot! The people working are always nice and quick. Thank you for making great authentic Mexican food!

This place is pure sh*t. Never order from them. Every time my friends force me here, they f*ck up at least two of our orders. I've had the quesadilla and they gave me lettuce wrapped in a tortilla, and I've had a shrimp dish with just a single shrimp. The day they close down is the day the world is better off.

Rinconsito is on my way home from work. Carpooling with a hangry spouse and working late nights makes this place a weekly staple for us. The drive through is excellent, but get your orders in quick, the ladies at the drive through are a bit impatient and would REALLY like to provide you with your subtotal ASAP. The drive through can take a bit of time. Also, make sure to check your orders before leaving sometimes things get missed. Their taco plate is wonderful, but if you don't like onions I would warn you to tell them no onions. The beef burrito is pretty amazing as is the carne asada, if you ask them they can make it more of a carne asada salad which is amazing. Their chicken salad is also pretty good but they don't have normal take out containers for sauces, so watch out for that. We have tried a ton of things on the menu and have not in any way shape or form been disappointed with the food. If your in the Renton area and need a taco I would highly recommend this place

This place is okay nothing special. It use to be Toreros and they can't equal Toreros quinines. About two ago Toreros sold off this location. At first they were good and got all their recipies. They were fairly decent then. A year later and they're terrible. The food is so bland that there's no flavor to it. If there is it's all spice. Certain dishes are better than others. I honestly would not go here again. The service is excellent but I can't stomach the bland food. It's incredibly bland even for Washintonians.

Is Good Hispanic food. Little pricey.. an drive thru is slow as he'll frozen over. Lol

This place used to be ok but after yesterday's visit they've lost my business for good. Went through the drive thru, which takes forever but when you have kids in the car makes it convenient. One car ahead of me. Just one. I sat at the menu waiting to order for 10 minutes. I would have left if a car hadn't pulled in behind me. The lady comes on to take my order and as I start to ask a question, she tells me to wait again. 5 more minutes pass and she finally comes on again. All I needed was 5 sides of rice as I didn't want to make some myself. Each side is only a small cup a piece so we aren't talking a lot of rice here. I was told they didn't have 5 sides of rice and that they'd have more later. Um, what?!? It's on your damn menu. You are a Mexican restaurant where everything on the menu comes with rice and you have no rice? How about you go in the kitchen and make it? So after 15 minutes of sitting in the drive thru, I get no rice. Ridiculous.

I absolutely love the food here. The mulitas with spicy pork are my favorite. My boyfriend lives the caldo de rez. The tacos are also delicious and always taste fresh.

  • Raddy D.

We love coming here, as they have delicious food. There is a complaint here though, why do they have fried ice cream on the menu and on the table tent advertisements if they never have it in stock? The Redmond location always has fried ice cream, but I have never gotten the chance to to taste the greatness of fried ice cream at the Renton location. My bet is that the cooks don't enjoy preparing it and instruct employees to say they are out. If it's on the menu, you should be able to order it.

Great food, fast, friendly, cheap! I really enjoy going here for some traditional Mexican food. One of the best place to go for some burritos! Try it!

Service is Fantastic, Food could be much fresher. Service a 5 and food a 2 for an average 3 rating. When I first went to Taqueria El Rinconsito, I thought it was great as it was a more traditional Mexican restaurant than what you find in the area.. Lately I am less pleased. PLUS - #1: The wait staff is great. I have never seen such hard working girls who I assume work for minimum wage. They are always sweeping, wrapping silverware, taking orders or keeping busy in some way. And they are always smiling. - #2: Condiment bar. Great pickled jalapeños and carrots; fresh radishes, Mexican coleslaw and 3 or more kinds of sauce. A great accompaniment to the meals served and always fresh. - # 3: Price is about as cheap as you will get it. - #4: They whole cuts of meat like the grilled steak, chicken etc, seem better than the chicken, carnitas, steak they use for burritos, tacos and enchiladas. MINUS - #1: There are many kinds of meats offered, but they always seem to be out of something I order. If I order beef, they only have carnitas. If I order carnitas, they only have beef and chicken that day. It's annoying as you can't get what you want on many days. This would lead you to think it would be really fresh as they run out of things but leads to #2 comment. - #2 Much of their meat tastes dated. I ordered carnitas and they tasted like old pork. My guess is that they make a new batch every day and add the new batch to the older batch as some of the meat pieces taste fresh and some taste old. If this is what is being done, they should keep all days separate. Use up old first then go to the next fresh meat that was cooked. - #3: Need to trim meat better. There is a TON of fat in the carnitas. Some days I get mostly meat. One day I got about 50% blobs of fat. Not good. This place is okay, but not consistent.

Better than most taco shops I've been to here. Try the $1.99 pork or chicken burrito happy hour special (normally $5). I like their salsas and fresh sliced radishes. They need to add diced onions and jalapenos to the salsa bar.

Tried this place for the 1st time today. I went thought the drive Thur and got two chicken tacos. Delicious. They were street taco style which was great. Just the right amount of spice to give it a kick. When I 1st opened the bag I was almost disappointed and didn't think those two small tacos were going to fill me up. I was wrong, I am stuffed. I didn't get a chance to check the whole menu out but they have a lot of different items and I will be back to try more.

Seriously so happy that I can depend on this place whenever I need my Mexican fix! I've been going to this place for years. It's a mix between fast food And restaurant style when you go in and eat, but I typically always do to go orders. My favorite is the enchiladas regulares with shredded pork and an horchata to wash it down. They also have a green sauce that's "cilantro-y" and creamy that's an amazing addition! This place is definitely one of my favorite go to's for late night quick eats.

  • Jessica B.

Asked for the burrito combo with no meat, and they said they could not do that. I asked if they could just put extra beans instead of meat, but they were unable to accomodate. So i asked for the chipotle burrito with no meat, and they reluctantly agreed. I was charged for the chipolte burrito but was jipped on all the toppings such as onion, salsa, cilantro etc. I even double check as she handed me the bag the topping were on it and she said yes. I was also charged 2.75 for my soda which seems ridiculously expensive since burritos are only 6 or 7 bucks.

My husband and I tried this place for the first time a few weeks ago. We both got the enchiladas, and a side of churros to go. The enchiladas were good. About the same thing you would get at any other sit down restaurant. The portion of rice and beans were a bit smaller, but thats alright. When you get three enchiladas, you don't really focus on how hungry you are for the extras. The churros were pretty good. Again, nothing spectacular, nothing that knocked your socks off. They do offer a wider variety of food. I can't vouch for the taste or authenticity of those dishes though. I really don't expect too much authentic cuisine here, it's just another americanized foreign food joint. However, it's a very good americanized foreign food joint. Try it once, it wont be much more than going to taco hell, oh, um, I mean bell, anyways.

Craving mexican food while we traveled down the freeway late one night and found this place was still open! Very nice staff and food was good! We had the chicken tacos with rice and beans.

It's definitely the closest (and close!) place to taqueria's I became accustomed to in Texas so 3 stars for that. The first couple times was pretty enjoyable, the food was tasty but the last time they really just crapped all over the place. Our to-go order came out in waves, the cheese in the quesadilla wasn't fully melted, everything was bland. Hopefully they just had an off day. I'd give them another chance.

Coming from Az, I'm used to awesome authentic Mexican food!! Since we've lived here, it's been difficult to find good tacos. This place offers great asada tacos!! I haven't tried anything else on their menu bc I loved their tacos so much. Their salsa is also very good. The only thing I didn't care for is the cost of them. They are super small and a little over-priced. All in all, I come here to get my Mexican food fix.

Well at long last I shall write a review... I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! I live way out in Sammamish, but will make the trip into Renton down 900 just to get some food here. The tacos and burritos are amazing and have never been bad. Anytime one of my best friends and I decide to clean camping gear and guns we get some tacos from this place. Nothing like some Pacifco and a real taco! cheers and keep the good food comin! Thanks!

  • Meaghan B.

And they seem to be back again! Keeping back that fifth star because I can't count on them to stay consistent over time (see my previous reviews.) However, over the last year or so, things here seem to have turned back around and I keep coming back for more mulitas. They've moved the corn-tortilla making station up by the register which makes me a little uncomfortable, as everyone who comes in breathes on it and what-not. They also seem to keep trying to carry products - just focus on what you've already got, guys! I'm not fond of the addition of televisions, though my preschooler is. He loves the Telemundo music shows and novellas that are often on. I have trouble not being distracted by TV screens and wish they weren't everywhere. Once again, I'm back to suggesting a small plate of tacos and some horchata. Just don't expect many (if any) vegetarian options.

Fast, authentic Mexican food. Great selection of salsas. Staff were very understanding and accommodating for our 3 children under the age of 3.

Great food and value, I especially enjoy their burrito! The service could be improved, drive thru servers are very short and lack on common courtesies.

So sad that I won't be going back here again! I've been a customer of Rinconsito since before the Renton location opened. Whether I order in English or Spanish they NEVER get it right, drive thru, walk in, doesn't matter, I guess pollo & carne asada sound too similar to each other. No onion/ No cebolla has no meaning at this restaurant! Maybe the cooks don't speak Spanish or English?! It's also strange they automatically give you 1 green salsa &1 red.. Don't bother asking which we'd prefer! Very sad because their ingredients are good, but I'm really tired of being disappointed when I get home & start to eat :(

  • Sammie N.

I have to say, best burrito plate I've had in a while. Carne asada burrito plate was full of good stuff. I will be back!

  • Jens J.

Renton's version of Jamba Juice! Rinconsito offers five different self-serve "aguas frescas naturales" - jamaica, horchata, tamarindo, mango and guyaba. The descriptions above each of the beverages tout vitamin and mineral content as well as other purported medicinal properties. Still, horchata with free refills - that's sweet. I expected an a la carte menu, but there was none, though I've seen a la carte menus at other Rinconsitos in the metro. Anyway, I went with the ($8.49) arroz con camarones (rice with shrimp). Surprisingly good. The layering of Mexican rice, jack cheese, and shrimp-white onion-mushroom sauce turned out nicely. The flavors were great. Very filling, dinner portion really. Side salad was made with fresh ingredients and topped with a modest, but just right, spot of dressing. Sure, this is a fast-food restaurant replete with drive-thru, but food and drink are much better than average.

I used to enjoy this place but had a horrible experience last night! Like some of the previous reviews, the customer service could definitely use some improvement, and I completely agree with paulina n's review as well. I rated 2 stars because I do like the food and large portion size (very tempted to make it ONE star), but am highly disappointed with my most recent visit (at the drive-thru): My order was small - quesadilla, jr burritto & horchata, total around $10. I gave the girl at the window $20 and she disappeared. Her co-worker brought my drink & quesadilla and thanked us as if we were all set. I reminded her that I was waiting for my change and the jr burrito so she went back to get them. When she returned to the window she handed me my receipt and $5 (still no burrito). I had to wait for her to return again to inform her that my change should have been $10. By the time she came back with the correct change and burrito, I THINK she may have mumbled an apology but I'm not sure... The last straw was when I got home there was a brown curly hair inside my styrofoam container that held the quesadilla. I really don't think I will continue to go here, and IF I do it would be just for a horchata. Very disappointed.

We go here often, but when we went there today it was very disgusting. The young girl (who was apparently in charge), was eating tres Leaches as was one of the other female workers. They were eating out of their bare hands (no plate, no utensils) and this obviously had many germs from their mouth on their hands. They were even licking their hands. They then handled food and never washed their hands. . In addition, they were eating in the actual kitchen. The young female worker then used a broom stick (one that was just used to clean the floor) to retrieve more plates from a high shelf and then with her bare dirty hands handed the plates to the cook to give to customers. I confronted the worker and asked for the manager. She said the manager was out and she was in charge. I told her that I saw her eating with her bare hands in the kitchen and then handle food without washing her hands. All she could say was "I am sorry". I eat their at least once every two weeks, food is great, but will never go back after this experience. I threw the food in the garbage and ended up grabbing some other fast food down the street. These place was pretty empty and thus their behavior. Luckily I saw what occurred, they could even see me but tried to hide but obviously not to concerned!

This place is great and very affordable. If you crave flavor packed authentic Mexican food come to Taqueria El Riconsito. They serve everything piping hot wrapped in foil. They just know what they're doing here. My boyfriend loves their tacos and gets them every time and always wants to go back for more. I like their tostadas and burritos, but I also like ordering a side of rice and beans along with a side of tortillas and making my own burritos at home. A lot better than Taco Time ;) I tried the one in Burien not Renton but judging from the pictures its the same quality deliciousness.

  • Noel O.

They are usually good however today I used the drive thru and when I checked to see if my items were all there, the beans and rice and tacos were literally piled on top of each other. I guess I will have to go inside to eat next time so they can properly put my food on a plate for me.....

    (2)
  • Jeremy M.

Better than ANY taco truck and/or bus I've tried in Washington! To make matter even better, they are open late on weekends! I've been coming here for few years now and they never fail to deliver. My favorites are: EVERYTHING ON THEIR MENU! Their salsa bar is equipped with salsa ranging from level 1-10 (referring to spicy level), but to me their spiciest is probably a 7 to me, fountain drinks and more traditional Mexican beverages available. Super cheap eats for fraction of the cost.

After living in Mexico for 2 years, I consider myself a bit of a Mexican food snob. I have tried lots of different restaurants, looking for more authentic dishes and taste and I found it at El Rinconsito. The food is great! They have a lot of different dishes to try and they are all delicious! Go inside and you get all you can drink horchata, tamarindo, guayaba, etc. The service has also been great. They are always very friendly. They have a great drive through. Even though there aren't waiters/waitresses, the manager and an employee both came around to make sure that everything was how I liked it and if I needed anything else. If you like Mexican food, try this place out!

Tacos tacos tacos! I order 3 lengua, 3 cabeza, with what ever I feel like to have of the fresh fruit waters, tamarind is my favorite.

This place is good for quick and late night bites. The portions are worthy of the price and then some. The food is very flavorful and authentic and the service is quick. We've tried dining in and taking out as well as driving through. All around good place for food - even the cashier who took our order was helpful with sorting through their menu which is quite large. Definitely adding this to our list of go-to places.

My husband and I came here for the first time and I'm so glad we did! He got a Carne Asada burrito, I got the Carne Asada Flautas, and my son got the burrito kids meal. Everything was very tasty and fresh. The staff was super nice too. I am picky about my rice and beans and these ones were amazing! I will be a repeat customer :)

Last visit was probably towards the end of 2012. I see a lot of bad reviews on customer service. I myself had the opposite experience. Got my order just right - I always order the same thing but have never been to this location. I got the chipotle enchiladas with carne asada and guacamole. My boyfriend had the burrito - cant remember which one. We enjoyed our meal! Better to order in so you can pick the salsa from the salsa bar and get as much as you want. The cashier was friendly. Sad to say I haven't been back since only because it is out of my way but when I crave mexican food I think about this place!

  • Sharon S.

okay.. so we got the taco plate. beans, rice and supposedly FIVE spicy pork tacos through the drive thru. Certainly was unhappy about getting home and finding only THREE tacos with our beans and rice for the 8 bucks we shelled out. The meat had some pieces of grizzle in it and while it was otherwise fairly tasty it wasn't all that. And..... I am still unhappy about being shorted! If there weren't any other places to get this kind of food I'd probably be grateful this was available, but in the Highlands there are MUCHO little taco joints to choose from. The best one so far is Taco Maestro, just keep driving a little further down Sunset. That's what I'll do next time.

Literally, the best Mexican food I've had in Seattle. is that sad? I don't think so... I always get the chicken taco plate with rice and beans. Eventually I'll branch out because I bet everything is just as great!

Great Mexican food, great prices and friendly staff. You know you got authentic Mexican when you can order a whole grilled fish. They offer plates other "Mexican Restaurants" simply dont offer. Tacos were fresh and good and they have an excellent salsa bar. They had a 99¢ burrito special on a Friday when I was there. Highly recommended!

Que Sabroso! Taqueria El Rinconsito pulls me in again and again because of their fired salsa. The only salsa that I've ever had that was similar was at Mextogo in Menlo Park CA ( yelp.com/biz/mextogo-men… ). If you've been there, you KNOW this salsa. Super HOT, yellow-brown, smoky, and a bit acidic. It was set out in a stone mortar and pestle, making me think it was something very handmade and special. I don't know how T el R makes their fired salsa, but it has a similar spicy, smoky, slightly lemony flavor (although not nearly as hot). I love to get some of T el R's delicious and very inexpensive carne asada tacos ("Tres tacos" will get you three of these by default) and heap on the fired salsa, the pickled jalapenos and carrots, the vinegar cole slaw. Damn! What a feast. My only "beef" (he he) with T el R is that their carne asada sometimes has a bit of gristle in it... need to watch what you're eating. Perhaps a deft hand with a knife in the kitchen could clean this up. I wish I could comment on the other menu items, but this always tastes SOOOOO good that I can't order anything else. For next time: Last time I was in there, I saw some guys that were getting gorditas. These ain't your "Takkko Bell Gordeedas" -- they're made of cakes of maize fried up on a griddle and then stuffed with meat and cotija. They remind me a little of pupusa. Despite the fact that they obviously contain 1 million calories per bite, I think I'll have to try them.

Always craving these authentic beef tacos! =) Top the taco off with pico de gallo, lime and hot sauce and its perfect. Whether I'm craving it or not, when I go there it always hits the spot.

We have been here a number of times, tried different things and what I can honestly say is that the menu items are completely inconsistent. Some items are great, some are bad, most are average. My favorite is the carnitas, which I have always found to be very tender, well seasoned and easily shreds for the tortilla. Middle of the bell curve ..

Located in Renton Highlands, this place looks a bit shabby and uninviting from the outside. But that won't deter this Yelper in her quest to find authentic Mexican food in Washington! Inside is pretty spacious and CLEAN. Yes, I was a bit surprised, judging from the outside. Anyway, the lady at the order counter greeted us and was very friendly. We ordered the enchiladas regulares and the tortas (Mexican sandwich I guess you can say). I also got some horchata (self serve!!!). I'm a huge fan of horchata, and what was cool was that they had 4 or 5 different flavors of aguas frescas - horchata, tamarind, hibiscus, mango, maybe even one more. You can fill your cup as much as you like!!! YUM. We took the food home and devoured it in record time. I highly recommend their enchiladas plate - comes with rice and beans of course. I plan on returning to try other things on the menu, such as their burritos and tacos. You won't be disappointed!

The food is great! If you're looking for quick authentic Mexican food then this is the place to go. As stated in pervious reviews the outside does look a little sketchy, but believe me the food is seriously delicious. But oh how I hate the location of this place: in the same complex as my gym and in direct view from the treadmills. :-)

Solid 3 1/2 stars here. Really. Not great enough for a 4, but slightly better than you're "A-ok" 3 star guideline. You got some solid Mexican eating here folks. Ever since leaving Utah and the general vicinity of the American southwest for Washington state, I have found there to be a large gaping hole in my life where genuine authentic and genuinely awesome Mexican food used to be. It is hard to find up here, and I admit my quest will probably more than likely be completed at a taco cart than at Riconsito here. However, just because it doesn't satisfy my nostolgic longing for "good ol'southwestern" styled fare, this place does certainly hit the spot! I don't get the expensive quips. Maybe im just used to paying too much for my tacos --but pricing here seems pretty fair and balanced, especially considering the portion sizes you get here! The boy got a chipotle burrito plate and I am still trying to figure out how he finished that monstrous carne asada and guacamole filled tortilla, as well as his rice and beans! I opted for the enchiladas with shredded beef (comes with rice and beans)-- and I am happy to say it was a super tasty meal.I left being plenty full. Mine only cost $6. Now, when you add the large horchata to it... (how can you resist horchata?!), well. The price does go up a little bit. But free refills! The place was surprisingly nice for what you might expect coming to a Taqueria with a drive through attached. Clean marble tables, plenty of seating, Telemundo in the background and a salsa bar with all sorts of spicy condiments to adorn your meal with, ( also comes with lime (yes!) and fresh pico too.) Hooray!

okay, i've been dying to write a review about this place ever since the very first time i came there. THANK GOODNESS i waited. because..after the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th time we came there, the service and the food just got worse and worse. I'm not sure what is going on, we LOVED their tacos the first time we came, it was fresh and tasty. but i guess after the second time we came in there.. we just hoped that if we kept going there..IT WOULD GET BETTER..because we basically just assumed that all the times we went they were having a bad day or something. WRONG. after the first few times we went there, the lady at the drive thru was EXTREMELY rude..basically her tone was rude, she threw my food at me, oh and not to mention she threw the credit card slip at me and i almost dropped it.. CALM DOWN LADY! another time we went there.. THEY GOT OUR ORDERS WRONG.. 3rd time we came there.. they forgot our limes.. after she asked us 4 times, and we told her repeatedly we wanted some limes.. boyfriend waited at the window waving his arms around like a crazy person to try and get her attention.. nope.. didnt work. so he just drove off and said forget the damn limes. all the times we came and got tacos.. they werent as fresh as they used to be,.. it seemed as though its been sitting out for a long time. i USED to be a fan of this place.. but i think i'm done. its like you're watching a god awful movie..but you keep watching HOPING.. THINKING it'll get better.

It was like a promising first date where you find out half way through dinner that the other person still lives with their parents and you realize that you still have to spend at least 45 more minutes with them before you can escape. The enchiladas were solidly fine, as were the accompanying rice and beans. The burrito would have been somewhat acceptable if the carnitas were not ladened with huge squishy pieces of fat. Gross. The agua frescas were pretty delicious - the horchata was down to the last cinnamony bit but seemed like a good version, and the mango was as amazing as mango agua fresca always is, but the real stand out of the gurgeling drink offerings was the guava...who knew it was so delicious??? There isn't much ambiance, but there is a well stocked salsa bar, so the night wasn't totally ruined. I gave Taqueria El Rinconsito a firm handshake at the end of our dinner date.

Food is great i always go to the Bellevue one but was working by this one. Absolutely love the food only problem was when I ordered my food it came with no rice and beans even though the sign says it does. When I brought it to their attention instead of fixing the problem and giving me what I thought I paid for they just told me I was wrong, even though it is posted on the menu. Bellevue would have made sure I left happy very displeased with customer service. Probably won't go back. Oh and I triple checked sign when I left and I was correct.

I really want to love this place and give it 5 stars! Having lived in California with excellent Mexican food readily available, Taqueria El Rinconsito was promising.... It's the same as the Kent location. Inside, you have granite countertops, and a bit fancier decor - but the food: Ordered: Horchata and Carne Asada Burrito: $9 That's a lot! Especially when I had to spit out a piece of gristle in my meat. Sick. Staff was excellent.

Ordered the Chipotle Burrito. Spent about 9.00 with a medium drink (I think she misunderstood me and gave me a small.) The menu said it came with rice and beans... but when I got home there were no rice and beans. The girl dropped the verde sauce on the ground and stuck it in my friend's bag. My burrito tastes NOTHING like chipotle. We ordered it to go too, I am pretty upset. I could have gotten a better meal at azteca for the same price. Including the rice and beans. What a disappointment.

Went there last night. I've been there a lot of times, food's good, service is average at best. Ordered our food and sat down, everyone else got their food but me. I kept waiting, told my bf that it maybe takes longer to cook my food. 5 minutes later we asked them where my food was and they said, they didn't make it. By the time my food was going to be ready, everyone else was done eating. I was very frustrated. They didn't even apologize for the mistake made. I asked for my money back and left.

Probably the best Mexican food in the area. The portions are fair for the price, but the food is delicious, you'll easily feel like you got a good deal. The food is fast and they even offer a drive through, which at first seems odd since you're not getting fast-food-style food. I haven't tried the drinks, but I hear they are amazing as well. I continually go here when I want a quick Mexican bite to eat. They are open until midnight every day, which is more than welcoming to a night crawler like myself.

I've come here a couple times. A friend of my girl's recommended us to try it. I've driven by it quite a few times and to be honest, a Mexican restaurant is the last place I think about stopping into to get some grub. I enjoy the food and I could eat it weekly, but it seems like no one ever wants to go with me to one! What's with that!? So my first time I got the Enchilada Chipotle and the second time was the Burrito Chipotle. They're pretty big and very filling. I could've easily saved half for tomorrow's lunch.. but... uh... my stomach wanted more and more!! I'd have to say the Enchilada is going to be my favorite. Didn't know there were so many locations, but now that I see them all on yelp, I suppose I can get some when I'm outside of my home area as well!!

I have been here several times with my husband and I haven't been disappointed. The staff is very friendly they always have a good face every time they see you! ( specially if you are a regular it is nice to be welcome with a "Good to see you again guys") I will definitely recommend this place specially for their Pollo Asado that is yummy! Forgot to mention also their variety of Aguas Frescas, my husband has an addiction to the Tamarindo one :)

I've been through the drive-thru a handful of times. Never a huge wait. The food is always great and reasonably priced. The service is friendly enough. I'm craving a burrito from there right now!

Yum, Yum and More Yum. I love the carne asada tacos...and horchata! Their beans are good, their rice is o.k., but tacos...are the best in town.

We went to the restaurant once and I won't be back. Service was ok, food tasted plaine. I didn't like it . When I asked for fried ice cream they were out of it, no big deal but waste of my money to pay for this food..

Consistently good food, as good as it gets... But, within the last two weeks they have a new girl working there, who has made me leave twice, because I cannot order what I want, she doesn't understand me... When she stops working there I will go back. Woo Hoo she's gone! Great food!

I thought this little place was going to be a hole in the wall but when I walked in, I was a bit surprised by the nice table and chairs. What's fine furniture doing in here? We ordered 6 carne asada tacos which are pretty good (4/5 stars) for $7 and a chicken quesadilla plate that comes with rice and beans for $3. Three dollars! Normally this type of plate is $8-10! We couldn't believe it. And the strange thing is that it was delicious too. A whole meal for $3!! Unbelieveable! Typically I do not like beans in any of my Mexican food, but their beans were pretty good. Different from the norm. In the same week, we went again and got the $3 plate with an enchilada instead and it was delicious! I loved the variety of unlimited drink options. They had the typical soda fountain but of course being a Mexican restaurant, they had 5-6 different Mexican drinks too: mango, tamarind, horchata, and some other ones. My palate had fun doing a taste test of all these Mexican drinks and trying different flavors with each refill. How wonderful! Even though the price is so cheap, they even bring your food out to you! Friendly staff, good food, fabulous prices!

I love their food. My boyfriend always get the tacos de asada and a huge torta, with extra avocado on the side. And a horchata of coarse. The food is always hot and the staff is really friendly. Their prices are are really great for all the food you get we never have to spend more than $20 to get a good meal. Better yet I don't feel like I ate greasy fast food. As far as the new decorations go the place looks awesome. We have been coming here for 2 years and last month I walked in and was completely impressed with the new face lift the dining room received.. New tables and chairs. Even new tile. The drive through is still a little slow, but I don't mind waiting for good food. Just don't go through it if your in a rush.

Combo Carnitas! (Fried Pork Dish) THE BOMB! also the steak tacos are very good but i think everybody already knows that. Dont get their shredded chicken dishes though, they are always dry and tough. EXCEPT for the Pollo Asado (also the bomb). refillable horchata. I love this place no doubt. all the other rinconsito's are mediocre compared to the renton highlands one. So beware because the food tastes different at the other places

Man, I can't believe I've never reviewed TER before!! I love coming here. The veggie burritos are so flavorful and they're open until midnight!! They are always fast and friendly. The food is cheap and plentiful. It's every bit as good and might I say better, than some of the more well known sit down Mexican places that charge twice the price. It's close to my house and they have a drive thru window. It doesn't get any better than that!

  • Johnnie L.

I love these tacos! If you never had authentic tacos or taco truck style tacos, you are missing out! This is the best when I'm craving Mexican. I always get the asada and the spicy pork tacos. With a squeeze of a lime and some salsa, its game over! So good. They seem to be opening all over the Seattle area, taking over run down fast food joints and turning them into these taco wonders. I have tried other items on the menu but I can't get away from the tacos!

  • Nerick M.

There are actually a number of these great spots for delicious Mexican food at reasonable prices. The servings are fairly generous and appetizing. They have a huge selection of goodies to choose from. Even the desserts are crazy filling, if you didn't get enough of your main dish. Get a plate of the pork tacos, a horchata, and have a little picnic at Coulon Beach not too far away.

If it weren't for the cloudy and rainy weather, I could imagine myself back in Downtown Phoenix, Arizona. The food is unbelievable for the price and is very authentic Mexican food. I have taken all of my friends here and they all love it. It it is by far the best Mexican food in the Seattle Area.

  • Suzi B.

The food is the attraction here. It tastes authentic and the menu has the kind of variety you won't find at Azteca. Can you say menudo? Everything is good, solid Mexican food without the ridiculous pool of bean goop and "Spanish" rice. Real flavors. The ambiance is non existent. Don't go here on a date unless you are already swooning over each other and will only be looking into one another's eyes. The place is clean but super casual. Other than the stucco and some posters, this is a fast food dining room. The drive through window was the first way I tried this place. The wait was way to long to be idling in your car. My fault because I ordered the whole fish, which was delicious. This place MAKES the food you are ordering, so get out of the car and go in. The place is definitely worth a try. Likely you will be back for more.

Great fresh Mexican food! Restaurant quality dishes at near taco truck prices. They are open late so forget taco bell!! Get 5 authentic steak tacos with some salsa verde and you'll be in heaven.

I come here whenever I'm in the mood for authentic Mexican tacos because the price is reasonable and the food is good. I really like their drink bar where I can sample and drink as much as I want. My favorite is the mango, it really qwenches my thirst. They have a lot of choices, so eat and drink up!

This is a good place for authentic mexican food. I have ordered everything from the tacos to the mulitas to the enchiladas and all of the items have been awesome. Even the selection of drinks takes me back to Latin america, from the creamy horchata to the tangy tamarind, all of it is worth a try. My only complaint about this place is that the food can be very greasy so healthy is definitely not an adjective that comes to mind when describing this place. Having said that the grub is mighty good here

  • Jim C.

Superb authentic taqueria. As good as just about anything I've had at a similar location in Cali. I love the tortas. They offer true Mexican classics, including tongue and brain, as well as gringo-friendly stuff like kids' hamburgers. They even have menudo and posole on weekends. Since it's REN-ton, you'll likely get some stares from the staff and locals as a gringo. Suck it up. Everything's made to order, and to die for.

I have tried this restaurant on three separate occasions, and each time have been very disappointed. The last straw on my last visit was the fatty, disgusting meat in my "shredded beef" taco. There was more fat than meat, and the entire thing was just a greasy, gross mess. I've given them plenty of opportunities, and I won't be giving them any more.

This is a cleaner location and with much more parking (located in the Albertsons & Ace Hardware plaza). The food is just as good as the other El Rinconsito (downtown kent) and same price. Service is much better here and it's mucho easier to grab the spicy salsa than the one in Kent where you have to do some acrobatic moves to reach the sauces. This is the only place so far that I have found decent enough to get my fast food mexican food. Whether it be tacos, tortas, or burritos... VIVA El Rinconsito!!!

I love the tacos and pork carnitas here! It is so authentic and GOOOOOD! And the prices here are soo cheap! I think the other day when we went the tacos were on sale and they are 79 cents!!

We go here often for a quick meal, very very affordable, surprisingly good here, and the mulitas rock!! i love the grilled onion and jalapenos that comes with. Good tacos, and the beans are extremely creamy here. 4 stars fo sho! :)

Yes, it's a bit on the expensive side, but I've had good, solid food each time I've been here. I used to live in south Texas, on the border with Mexico, and the menu is comparable to the food there. The salsa bar is stocked with many different types of condiments.

This place is great. Reminds me of all the good Mexican spots down in San Diego. It's fast food Mexican food but better quality than your Taco Time.

  • J B.

So, the fact that it's a Rinconsito gives you a pretty good baseline -- they've got the standard Rinconsito drinks (horchata that's actually a little gritty, guyaba, jamaica, etc) in addition to pop, they've got the salsa bar -- but this place, despite recently changing the menu to drop nachos (how can you not serve nachos) adds a little more. Slightly larger servings, a quick kitchen, the employee music choice favouring Mexican rap -- whatever it is, it pushes the experience over into five stars. Oh, yeah -- the food is the most authentic Mexican taqueria fare you're likely to find in the area, too.

My roommates are addicted to this place. I tried it and I can see why. It looks (and costs) like a fast-food place but the food is restaurant good. The "aguas frescas" in different exotic fruit flavors are also great. It's authentic Mexican for cheaper than Taco Bell and the staff at the Renton location are always super nice.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
