Have been here a few times. Tonight is the last..Stupid place. Horrible service. Will never go back. Zero notion of customer service.

My parents and husband and I come here at least once a week. Almost always no wait and great service and amazingly tasty food. We come because it is quick and efficient with a miss here and there every once and awhile. We always ask for Martin he's the best. Good food that's always hot and fresh. Quick too even when busy. We will be back. Always. People need to chill with their criticisms. You're not a critic and they don't claim to be an authentic Mexican. They're delicious. Plain and simple. Get over yourselves.

Friendly professional Mexican staff. Great quality food! Lively good ambiance for friends. A complete tasty Mexican experience.

NO. Don't eat or drink here. NO. Honestly, where to begin? I live across the street and having moved here from Dallas, I did expect something a bit better Tex-Mex wise, but wow! Azteca appears to be TRYING to underperform - in every conceivable way. If you want to walk in and order a beer or margarita, great. The complimentary chips, salsa and beans are good. Actually, the bar beans are pretty great. EVERYTHING else is pretty bad. Not inedible mind you, but you will certainly have regret when you get the bill and were given the erratic, zero fucks given, blank stare service standards that are by now notorious for this location. Last night I was one of 5, count 'em 5 people in the entire restaurant for the end of Game 6 of the NBA finals last night. I tipped $5 on a $12 tab because I felt bad for the waiter. This after I was asked 3 or 4 times if I wanted anything to eat, I grabbed the bar menu off of the table and order the quesadilla only to be told that I cannot place such order because it's after happy hour. It was 7:10pm (the happy hour ends at 7pm). She brings me a menu and the exact quesadilla has just doubled in price. I say no thanks. Today, I walk in at 1:20pm and there is a single table, I ask the guy if I can get an order of the bar beans and his reply was to ask me if I had asked the hostess to place an order for me. I told him that I had not seen said hostess and just when I am about to wander out loud why he just doesn't take my order he beats me to it by asking me again to go find the hostess and let her take my togo order. Not to be outdone by this, he really uppped his game of cocksmanship by walking me back to the front door where the hostess still was not standing, leaves to go find her, bringing her back to me and again, reminding me to "Order from hostess next time, okay?" I am pretty in the moment, but honestly it took me a couple of beats to realize that this was actually happening over a $5 order of refried beans. At that point I announced that it was not okay and that I would not be back. I have never said that last part to the face of anyone in my entire life until today. I am a grown man and I was shaking I was so angry when I left. Bonus: the mensroom smells like a sewer.

At this location, the waiter revised my total to an amount I did not authorize and it was most certainly a machismo attempt to humiliate me.

Great location, great bar section, always great staff. Food is pretty C+/B-, but the bean dip that comes with the chips is stellar. Best Cadillac marg on the east side

Traditional Mexican American food. Served up friendly in an old Garcias of Scottsdale from the 80s. The food is just okay. Happy hour is good. The service is really great. Convenient location, too.

  • Gary W.

Close to Microsoft and easily a hit for happy hour when chips, dip and margaritas are on your mind. Nice that it's walking distance for me and I would not hesitate recommending Azteca for a few drinks and chips. That said, you're not going to be impressed with the food if you've got any experience eating Mexican food. I've had the tortilla soup and it was okay and I enjoyed it. But, once I got chili verde and it was the worst I've ever been served and could just eat a few bites. The verde sauce was so watered down and the pork wasn't to my taste either. On a good note the service is good and I suggest the closer you sit to the bar area the better your service is going to be.

Never had Azteca until I went to this location about a week ago. I didn't expect much it being a Mexican chain restaurant. And to be honest, I never had the urge to try it but a big group of my coworkers & I wanted to eat out for lunch last minute and Bai Tong was really busy so we ended up here. Food was okay, service was good however. The workers at the time I went were very nice. So stars for them. However, I don't think I will go to another Azteca, or at least suggest it. Probably my first and last time.

  • Sheng M.

For as big as this restaurant is, you would think that they would be more efficient in getting orders out. Was here with a group of ten people for lunch, but the restaurant itself was pretty quiet, which is why we were so confused on the wait. Our order took almost 40 minutes to get out to us. One of my coworkers had to get theirs to go. Not the first time it's happened. Decent food, lots of parking...just slow service. :(

  • Molly S.

Wow... I love this place... The ambient is cozy, they have an amazing margarita... Yum! I went to happy hour time with my friends and the happy hour menu.. Mmmm delicious... They have diablo jalapeño ... So good... The service is good as well. I am definitely coming back.

Price? 4.5 stars (consider the quantity) Food? 4.5 stars (I bring a group of Asian and I am surprised they loved it!!!!) Personally I think they are 4 stars. Atmosphere? 4 stars Service? 4 stars. Overall. 4.25 stars. And yes, I will be back whenever I need to get some (NON fast food styled) Mexican Food.

  • Jeff B.

Knocked a star off my last review due to the LOUDNESS. Especially the area furthest inside can be incredibly noisy. Our group of 4 had a hard time hearing our conversation.

    (2)
  • Chakkaradeep C.

I have had food twice in this restaurant and love the authentic taste. The corn chips and salsa are fresh and hot! As with any Mexican restaurant goes, the quantity of food you get for your order is huge that it could feed two than one!

I've worked right next to this Azteca for a few years and I don't think I'd ever been in it until a couple weeks ago. I got a chicken burrito to go and it came with chips and salsa. Pros: - Service was quick and very friendly - Price was pretty reasonable for the amount of food - Chips and salsa were really good, and they give you a ton of chips. Chips were nice and hot. Only one con, but it's a major one: the chicken burrito was completely and utterly flavorless. When you actually looked at the chicken it was plain white, as in there was no evidence of grilling or any use of seasoning. It was about the blandest thing I've ever eaten. The presentation was not not great either; just a big mess of a plate covered with lettuce, tomato, and sauce. I think Azteca hails from a time when people were not into spicy food as much, and liked everything bland. People have gotten a lot more with it now and enjoy more spicy and ethnic food, and Azteca seems to have not caught up with the times. I won't be going back unless I'm desperate.

We were seated in the most empty part of the restaurant, sequestered from other patrons and for the duration of our meal, deserted by our waitress. When we ran out of room on our table from our apeetizers, the waitress just started stacking things on top of each other instead of clearing the very obviouWe opted for the carrots and celery to accompany the children's meals. only to find that their chicken fingers were soaked and mushy from the water of the veggies. We had to constantly ask for water refills and chips whenever we spotted our waitress. The food was ok... edible, but nothing special.

Good food for the price. Friendly immigrants that get the service industry. Great food and drinks. I'll be back soon.

  • Road Warrio R.

Great service but not the food was't that great. The roach coach at the gas station lot down the street looks more promising for a solid meal. Oh well, maybe I will find a place that serve good Mexican food in a restaurant.

  • Flavio B.

Watered down ranch on a salad?!? I didn't know if it the ranch was watered down on purpose because they are cheap or if they just let the ranch get bad and watery. If they are watering down the ranch to save money it makes me wonder what other corners they are cutting. My plate was a soupy mess and gross to look at. it made me sick to try and eat it.

What happened to this place? This used to be a lively and fun place to go for happy hour and quality food now the food is horrible and the service even worse. You are greeted by scowling faces, the food taste like it's been under a hot lamp for hours, what happened!? It's too bad this used to be a packed lively restaurant 2000-2006

    (2)
  • Divya K.

Very bad food. The worst Mexican food I have ever eaten. The veggie enchilada did not have salt or any other spice or taste. It was mainly boiled vegetables wrapped in tortilla.

Martin is the best and Juan rocks. We love to stop here after work and unwind instead of sitting in traffic. The margaritas are dangerous in a good way and it's very clean.

We've been to this place a number of times, and often with a large number of people. we're not Mexican food aficionados, but we've always been impressed with what we've been served. More to the point, the service itself has been consistently excellent, a terrific blend of casual and attentive. I don't believe this is actually so easy to accomplish, particularly with large groups. They should be commended.

  • T C.

I am a BIG fan of this restaurant. We go at least once a week and our favorite waiter is Martin. We often decide to go because we need a break from a hard week at work and look forward to awesome service and some very good Mexican food. They have generous portions and always comes piping hot to the table. My favorite is the fajitas but have tried other dishes and its hard to make a choice. Their margaritas are amazing and the guacamole' is freshly made. I would recommend this restaurant for their food and service! The price is moderate too!

I had the pollo Mazatlan, and the BF had the combination with a chimichanga, enchiladas, and chile relleno. My entree was tasty, but we weren't very impressed by the food here. I think if you want Mexican food, there might be better options out there, but the service here is good.

Nice option to go for Mexican dinner with drinks..!! We tried enchiladas, and it was really good

  • Erzhena S.

Happy hour is the time to go. Cheap drinks, OK appetizers. If you are eating lunch or dinner, steer clear from taco salad... (easily the worst restaurant meal I've eaten). Overall, the quality of food is below mediocre, and it's hard to get waiters attention for refills or check.

    (2)
  • Andrew K.

Azteca is 100% about happy hour. Warm tortilla chips, served with sides of salsa and tasteless refried beans. Toss in some discounted IPA and/or a Ramos Rita or three and you're in heaven. If it's 4:00 and you're too lazy to drive to a real bar, Azteca it is. I made the mistake of having lunch here once; I've crapped out better Mexican food, and that's not saying much. I'm not even going to describe it past "bland everything from meat to rice to beans." The service is hit or miss, with the spinner landing on "miss" more often than not. Two stars? Sure. Margaritas are generally not watered down and the prices are reasonable. That said, I'd sooner chew on Juan Valdez's stained poncho than go back for lunch, much less dinner.

  • Ron D.

I had the fajitas sampler, steak, shrimp, chicken with a salad instead of rice and beans. It was sizzling when it came out like most are but usually the onions and peppers are caramelized. Mine were raw except the burnt stuff on the bottom. The beef was tough and some burnt, and the chicken was super dry on the inside. The Margarita was also sub par for a Mexican restaurant with a full bar. It was their specialty drink they were pushing. I've eaten at taco trucks that were better in LA.

I was on a business trip. We needed a place to eat before going to our meeting. So, we stopped at Azteca. It is very similar to the large Tex-Mex food chains like El Torito. The service was very friendly and fast. They seated us immediately. Our server quickly took our beverage orders and brought us chips and salsa. Our order was taken very soon after. The food came out with lightening like speed. The chips and salsa were ok. The salsa was bland but the chips were nice. tinyurl.com/3kccdqx I had the Fajita Quesadilla with Chicken. It came with a side of rice and a side of beans. It was a very large quesadilla and contained the usual suspects (chicken, cheese, peppers, onions, salsa, sour cream (side), guacamole (side). While the presentation was nice and the dish contained the ingredients you would expect, it was bland. The chicken did not seem to have any seasonings and the salsa lacked spice and kick. tinyurl.com/3vtr7sp Overall, this place will do. I would not go out of my way to eat there. But, if I was in the neighborhood and needed a bite to eat, I would not hesitate to return. Do not go expecting authentic Mexican food.

At one time a couple of years ago I would have recommend this place but something has changed. Last night a friend and I shared a Chicken Expresso Burrito and we both got sick. As we were eating it, we both mentioned that it was the worst burrito we've ever had anywhere! The food quality has been rapidly declining. They do serve a bowl of spicy refried beans with their complimentary chips and salsa, and their drinks are usually strong which makes it a great place to go for happy hour, but do yourself a favor and avoid the food.

Lets start here, this is not Mexican food. I wouldn't give this stuff to my cat who I found starving to death in an alley in the ghetto of North East Washington DC. The only reason why I'm giving it two stars instead of one star is because I'm saving all of my one star reviews for places where I get physically or verbally assaulted. The food here sucks. It tasted like everything was left over from the night before and reheated in the microwave, thrown in the garbage, dug up and thrown on my plate. SMH. Chef Ramsey would have a field day with this place. I'm pretty greedy and will eat most things without complaining about it, but I was quick to send my enchiladas back. I just ended up satisfying my Mexican craving with tacos from a taco truck at a gas station around the corner from here. Don't do it to yourself go somewhere else, Chipotle, taco bell any where, just not here.

While there are aspects of Azteca that are A-OK, there are more area's where they need improvement. I'll give them 3 stars solely on having great and friendly service. Their salsa is not so good but they make a good pico de gallo and it is only $0.75. From the menu, the food is just ok. The fajita's are not as good as other restaurants, and the refried beans have an interesting flavor. Alternatively, their tamales and chile rellenos are really good. Their carne asada is decent as well. I will choose to go to another Mexican restaurant over this one, but if I'm in the area and the mood strikes, I would go here again...

My husband and I had a great meal here this past weekend. The greeting was friendly, the waiter was super nice. The drinks and food came fast, delicious, and plentiful. Now - if you're looking for greasy, give you a stomach ache Mexican food, this is not the place for you. We had the fajitas for 2 - with the steak and chicken. The meat was cooked perfectly and was not drenched in oil like you'd get at other Mexican restaurants. There were a TON of yummy onions and peppers, more then enough. The meat could have done with a tad more seasoning, but that's what hot sauce is for I suppose. The restaurant was pretty noisy as there were a bunch of birthday parties going on. If you want a more quiet experience, I recommend you eat in the bar (no kiddos). I am looking forward to eating here again soon.

I often sit in the cantina area with friends. The service is friendly and prompt. Aaron, the weekday bartender, is always pleasant and entertaining. I would not recommend the restaurant area, but the cantina is very enjoyable.

Alright food. They warmed up our tortilla chips, which tasted really nice. Service was good. They give you a pretty big portion for what you pay for.

Some friends and I agreed to meet here tonight about 7. I walked in and met them in the bar--obviously they were there earlier than me. When I hung up my phone it said 6:59. The "Manager" and one of my friends were getting into it because while my friends ordered their drinks at 6:55 as part of Happy Hour--their cell phones and the clock on the wall did not agree with what the cash register said. BONK--no Senor--you will pay Full Price. Yes your Windows phone says 6:55 but Happy Hour is over at 7 and our Cash Register says it is 7. My friend was irked, but calm--and then the Manager told him to get out... Get Out?? My phone said 7pm and they had been at it for several minutes... Judging by the other reviews of this place--and I used to eat here more often when I lived closer--the ownership should take a harder look at Customer Service. Two Thumbs way down

  • Dennis D.

Food is decent. Chips and salsa is good. I liked the crushed red petter in the bean dip. Mmm! Mexican pizza was actually pretty good, though I'm not sure I'd get it again. It also didn't reheat well (which isn't to be expected though). Not bad Mexican food in a pinch, but you can get much better from the taco truck in the 76 parking lot across the highway.

Visiting from out if the area, stumbled across this place near the hotel. Seated our large party quickly and prompt service. Clean atmosphere and restrooms. Service was good and personable. Food was good, not great. Read an earlier review of the margaritas and was excited, however disappointed (tried two just to make sure, not good).

This is the worst mexican food ive ever had in my entire life, and ive lived in los angeles and las vegas so ive eaten alot of different varations of mexican. Your better off hitting up the traveling cantina on wheels at the gas station down the Street. My entire family ended up with stomach aches like crazy after eating here, and now were at the hospital having my sister looked at for food poisoning.. We all felt great when we got here, the sad part is it cost good, hard earned money and now theres a doctors bill on top of it, and our evening is ruined. I called and asked to talk to the manager, and after 81/2 minutes of waiting, he hangs up on me in tje middle of me talking to him!!! Almost 200 bill with tip and this is how were treated! How is this place in business???! I will never, ever eat, recommend or take people to azteca ever again

As Ashley D. wrote, we come back to this location for Juan. Juan remembers details about us even though we come in about once every six months, tops. He always asks when my boyfriend won't be home so he can come play with my Xbox360. He always brings us out extra jalapeños because he knows Ashley and I are gluttons for spicy, delicious pain. And he's always awesome. Even if you aren't two cute young blondes, odds are Juan will take good care of you. If you are young and female? He'll take extra good care of you in the restaurant. And offer to take extra, extra good care of you outside of the restaurant too. Turn him down, he has a girlfriend ;) The food, as others have said, is not much better than what you may find at the Taco del Mar across the street, however the portions are definitely large enough to share. Good pico de gallo to go with the chips, although last time we were there our regular salsa tasted oddly like the marinara we have at the restaurant I work at. Nothing a healthy [verrrrrrry healthy] dose of Tapatio couldn't fix.

  • Allan G.

Not bad, considering that I have yet to try/find anything mexican up here in seattle. It wasn't until I left california four months ago that I realized I sincerely missed a breakfast burrito from adalbertos, fish tacos, taquitos, al pastor quesadillas, or the dangerously unhealthy but ungodly flavorful serving of carne asada fries drenched in tapatio, sour cream, and guacamole. shit, even the korean/mexican fusion kogi bbq's of bulgogi soft tacos and kimchee quesadillas are to die for right now, that and in n' out. Anyway, I came here with a group of around 9 people and service was fairly normal. Got water when our cups were low and had our chips and salsa replenished almost instantly too. I ordered the Tacos al Pastor that came with a side of beans and rice. The al pastor was satisfying for the most part and i finished my dish completely. Now was it good? I'm not sure, maybe I just miss/crave mexican food that I'll eat anything that resembles it. But for the most part, I did get my fix.

Good happy hour, average food as expected of a chain restaurant. In my opinion the worst part about this place is some of the service, but in general it is an ok place for happy hour

    (3)
  • Rachel P.

It's a pretty good Azteca. Good service. Food is ok- remember it's Azteca- not like Mexican food in mexico. My steak for fajitas was not sizzly like it usually is but was very good. My friend enjoyed his meal of the three different things one one plate. Drinks were very good but for 9$ it had better be a damn good marjarita and you know what- it was! No one should expect "authentic" mexican food at place that offers "tito's burger"... also their soups are very good and often overlooked- they make good lunches with a lil salad.

  • H R.

This review is on the restaurant part of this place, not the bar, keep that in mind! This is your basic TexMex food place with a very American-style menu, so if you want authentic Mexican food this is NOT the right place for you. But for cheap, plentiful, good eats in a nice place with friendly service this one is hard to beat! THE GOOD * The food is good with generous portions and decent quality at a decent price! * Free chips and salsa, they will bring extra salsa or even refried beans if you ask friendly(!!) * Great service! I have always had good luck with Martin and Engracia, both are great! * This is a great place for groups, they will accomodate some very large groups! * Kid friendly place! THE BAD * Well, it's not hardcore authentic Mexican. What can I say, I am a wuss. I have had hardcore authentic Mexican and it burned for days, loooong days I say. So give me TexMex-watered-down-Mexican any day! * Can get loud, especially with bratty kids around MAKE IT BETTER * They are pretty good with special requests, just be friendly and tell them what you need. * They have some decent hot sauces on the table if you need to spice things up. * I have seen people order stuff that are not on the menu, might be worth a try!

Very odd Mexican food, I was here for a group buffet dinner, their dishes were not clean, the plate I picked up had food particles stuck to it. I have had much better mexican food, this is not some place I would recommend.

Always great food and service here! I dare you to try the Carne Asada and tell me it's not the best you've had for the price! Happy hour food and drink all day on Sundays and Mondays is way cool about this place. Fun place to meet friends and chat in the bar. You always get chips, salsa and refried beans in the bar ... never been to mexican restaurant that brings you refried beans for your chips and salsa ... how cool is that! Their nachos are great! Their Happy hour $3 Grande margarita's are pretty good too. They also have free comedy show every other Sunday Night ... you can find the dates at pugetsoundcomedy.com ... wow, 4 hours of free comedy every other Sunday, nice!

Poor food quality. I go there just to grab a beer with coworkers because it's close to work.

The food here is not good at all, I would rate it just one notch above Alpo dog food. I know good Mexican food being a native Californian and eating it several times weekly when I lived in California - Northern, Central and Southern. The clue here is to bring lots of Tums or your favorite antacid. Happy hour is good the drinks are great, service depends on who you get or who gets you. If you do go ahead and eat here that very night or the next morning you'll figure out why this place is nicknamed Asswrecka!

    (1)
  • Erik C.

We went with a large group from work (20+) and I felt generally ignored. The restaurant should do a better job making sure they staff adequately for large groups. I never received a drink (though asked twice) and when I was asking for my check I mentioned it but they didn't try to "make it right". The payment process was very slow even though I had cash so I ended up leaving more for a tip as I didn't get asked for change. Food is decent, it's pretty much what you'd expect from a Mexican chain.

  • John K.

Hey, all you clowns giving 1 and 2 stars... IT'S AZTECA. Get off your high horses. I'm a big fan of this Azteca for it's location, and for the many hours I've sat here to let the evening commute burn down. The bar is great for taking in Monday night football when there's a home game. Other than that... The food is AZTECA. Most of us know exactly what to expect. It's acceptable food, but not great.

    (3)
  • Sam H.

What the heck? This isn't mexican food and there were no striking green eyes like at Cafe Moose, just a bunch of geeky male coworkers. Lucky it was "free". Terrell's right. It should be called Ass-wrecka. Go give her a compliment for being funny.

  • S C.

The service is prompt and very friendly. The food is average to below average. The drinks are above average. Props to them for having a michelada on the menu and making it really well too. The prices are quite high in my opinion.

  • Julia Z.

There's no nice way to say it... this restaurant sucks. The service is always super-slow, they frequently screw up your order (bringing the wrong food altogether more than once) and I just don't even like their bland version of Americanized Mexican food. It was close to Microsoft so we ended up going there way more often than I would have chosen. I think that's the only reason the place stays in business.... because it's there. Bleagh. There are so many good alternatives around... though to me, there really isn't any fantastic Mexican food on the Eastside. But with excellent Indian, Italian, and pizza (among other choices) around, and the entire Crossroads Mall food court, I can't see why anyone patronizes Azteca.

    (1)
  • Tim L.

The food here is nothing to brag about, yet I would keep going back. That speaks to my personality, I'm willing to overlook the bland flavors, crusty refried beans, and meager portions for familiarity. No longer though, there are much better places to get mexican food and drink! My staple dish of steak fajitas has become smaller in recent years, they still never give you enough tortillas, and the accoutrements (no idea what the word in Spanish is) far outnumber the meat and veggies. If I worked at MS, I'd probably still frequent this place often, as it is local, Mexican-ish food. But since I don't, I can't come up with a single reason to stop in. Even the prices got ridiculous.

I'll be honest. I hadn't been inside of an Azteca for about 3 years, and I tend to strongly favor hole-in-the wall taquerias to places like this. For the right purpose though, this place can be pretty good. I got a 25 ounce Manny's and a plate of jalapeno poppers for about $11 while watching a Cruz Azul soccer game with a group of friends. The food was decent, and the beer helped me forget about my problems of yesterday. That's about all I was asking for. I dig it, and this location was better than most. I also like that the owner from Veracruz, Mexico hung out with us...

Props to opening up early to shelter the displaced 'softies during the great Microsoft Fire of 2008. I give my 'always available when I need it' conference room three stars for being stocked with alcohol and always giving us nachos with beans and salsa. Just go into the bar and hunker down! You can get take out, but really, if you work within walking distance, just go in and eat the fajita inside. Your keyboard will thank you later.

I ate here with a group of about 8-10 people about a month or two ago. I just saw it as I was perusing good Mexican restaurants and remembered my experience. It wasn't bad. It wasn't great. I got some enchiladas. I like the fact that you can choose what kind of sauce you want for the enchiladas, making me feel more adventurous about my order. However, I can't reall y remember how it tasted. It must not have astounded me. It didn't disgust me. I had a sangria or two, and those were a-ok as well. The service was good. The waitress was pleasant and only forgot one drink and came with the forgotten one in no time at all. That is fine when there is a group of family all trying to chat across the table while you are answering questions at 100 a minute and holding a huge platter of food in the other hand. They split the bill in what I thought was a rather complicated manner at our request, so all in all it was a good experience. I neither recommend nor don't recommend the place. I won't go out of my way to eat here again, but if someone else wants to go, I certainly won't protest. Okay chain food. And they have a bouncy ball machine in the lobby! We went crazy in the vestibule between the two doors for a few seconds. :)

Basic Mexican food from a Pacific Northwest chain.

This Azteca exemplifies the software industry cliche Mexican restaurant. Really the best thing you can say about it is that you're likely to overhear a Microsoft conversation. More likely it's going to sound like a conversation from Office Space. That is to say, the people who are ready to give up on life at Microsoft, you are likely to see here sucking down a giant tequila flavored beverage. Still, since I am incapable of preparing my own fajita quesadillas, I can't just give it one star. It is good for something, if only to remind us how American Mexican restaurants have become.

My friend Allie and I come here for the same server, Juan. Whom we adore and treats us very well. But last time we went we got Jesus instead. He was alright. His English was pretty hard to understand, and I'm not trying to be annoying or mean. I have a Hispanic boyfriend so usually the accent isn't the problem. Jesus just didn't have a lot to say and when he did it was really hard to follow. But kudos for getting out there and trying. My Spanish is terrible and you wouldn't see out there speaking only Spanish to a table. Apart from his speech, the service was good and the food was great. We had steak fajitas. I lost at our jalapeno eating contest. I cried first. lol. Anyway I at this location we always get good service and great food. Also thank-you Allie for paying. It was a great birthday present.

I was not impressed. The food was nothing to write home about and the service sucked. And, the magarita was watered down. And I know that english may not be the prominent language....and that is to be expected, but the waiter should at least understand it. The only thing this guy could understand was "more salsa". A couple we were with wanted to take their leftovers home (something about feeling bad about wasting food) and they threw them away. They did offer to make a new meal and then package it...but we declined. They were generous to offer a hand written (on the back of a receipt) a "coupon" for a free meal.

Worst Mexican food anywhere. Over priced. This is the perfect example of Americans instead of Mexicans creating a Mexican restaurant. I avoid this place like the plague.

I used to come here for lunch now and then when I worked nearby. Back then, it was a decent place for OK Mexican food (not authentic, but then I'd say you're confused if you're looking for authentic Mexican food at a chain restaurant in the state before you hit Canada). Something happened to this Azteca, though, between then and now. Something bad. Now the food is so bland it makes you eat more in a futile attempt to find any flavor. Even the chips and salsa they serve first are lackluster - How do you do that? How do you make lackluster chips and salsa when even the dodgy kind you get at the grocery store are just fine? At least the drinks were good - I had a jumbo margarita and a mojito to help me forget my food woes.

Azteca is great for large groups as they can accomodate larger parties. If you are looking for bland mexian food that does not have a very authentic flavor welcome to paradise. I wonder if they still use this place in the WA food handler permit video.

When I told their manager that a friend and I got food poisoning there, he totally blew me off as though it wasn't possible. I took a chance and went there a few more times because I liked their cheap food, and got food poisoning yet again. The other day I heard about another person who got food poisoning there. I don't know how they stay in business, but I'm staying far far away.

The food here is usually delicious and really hits the spot! Their portions are huge! The service here is alright and that's what really sets this place down to one star....definately depends on who you're getting service from. I've received great service here before and I've received terrible service. The older half bald gentleman doesn't do squat. When I once raised my hand he came and said "wut do u want" and when I asked for a napkin he walked by and tosses it on the table...that was when I was a kid... 17 yrs old and didn't know better....if it were now I'd talk to the manager and try to get this idiot man fired for and not feel bad about it at all. Like so many other sit down restaurants that provide really slow service....older crowds are catered to in a much higher fashion than younger couples. However, the prices are alright when considering how much food you get. There is a lot of seating, ambiance is good with the Mexican music. Overall, fairly reasonable but I'd rather go eat at taqueria el rinconsito down the street.

What has happened to Azteca? It just isnt the consistent place it used to be. I don't find myself choosing to go here much any more bud did recently and am just not impressed and the prices keep seeming to go up and up :(

Been here twice. Overpriced Tex-Mex. It's only saving grace is its location.

I should just pour this stuff directly in the toilet and save my intestines a bunch of work. The only somewhat redeeming factor is the chips and salsa which are editable. The rest...is awful.

Normally I like Azteca..However today I received the worst service I have ever received at a restaurant.. I came in and was greeted by a waiter from the bar area. I was only given chips and salsa and not even asked if i wanted water or something to drink..I had to wait five minutes before my waiter would come back to ask me if I was ready..Keep in mind, not even a glass of water!! And i was sitting there for five minutes! Then I placed my order. The waitress who brought it out was actually the only pleasant person there, other than the bartender at the bar(I wish he was the one who was my waiter because he was actually much nicer to the guests that were sitting closer to the bar). The food was so so... I also wasnt even offered another drink once I finished my soda. Then I received my bill. Put my card in the sleeve and had to wait 10 minutes before someone would pick it up..When I got the bill back, I made sure to put on the back of the receipt "horrible service and would never come back here again.." Id rather drive all the way to Ixtapa in Redmond Ridge for not only great food, but awesome service.. Never ever will I eat at Azteca again...

i miss mexican food, real authentic mexican food. so i am confused by azteca? i have seen so many of them out and around, so i have to assume that this chain isn't going to be the best mexican food out here, so when i went there for lunch today, i passed on getting what i would usually order so i wouldn't be disappointed and opted for something simple like veggie quesadillas... wow..? it just wasn't what i was expecting i guess, i want to say gross, but i mean, it was technically a veggie quesadilla. i have had some amazingly delicious quesadillas, this one unfortunately would not be on that list, it just wouldn't be something i would personally put together and be pleased with, complete with broccoli and cauliflower and mozzarella cheese... a little weird. but i'm just giving my input on the most non-mexican item on their menu, so what do i know anyways?.. oh p.s. salsa needs some spice, that was just lame and weak :)

I was in the middle of eating a chip and the bus boy came by took the chips and salsa and asked if I was done as he was walking away. NO I WAS NOT DONE!!!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
