It's been a year since I last came to Factoria, so it's been that long since I last ate here. When we last came, this mall was clearly dying. Lots of empty stores and the place was dead. The only thing surviving was the Target. This year has clearly been good for the place because it's revived beautifully. Lots of active stores and people. The improved business has been a great boon for this Old Country Buffet because it's a hundred times improved from my last visit here. Not only was there a much bigger selection of food, but it was all good. I've never been to an OCB that didn't have food that was 'just decent'. This visit it was all legitimately great. Even the fried chicken looked and tasted good. The roast beef stew was fantastic. There were candied yams and they were amazing. And the cheese cake was soooo good. I was seriously surprised. I came here because it was simple and convenient for the kids, figuring I'd leave with stomach cramps. I was pleasantly surprised to actually really like it.

I only get out of downtown Seattle. When my friends drive me to other areas. Eating buffet, isn't generally my thing. However, I was pleasantly surprised. They had a wide variety of options. Including healthier selections. Good prices. Very nice staff.

Old Country Buffet is a decent place to have a dinner if you live like 30 seconds away and you are really hungry. Food is cheap. The eatting area is really big. You can find tables in front of the window, what is really nice especially when it is rainy outside. The service is okay. They say "hello", they say "goodbye", they say "please", "thank you" and "enjoy", what else you need? The best thing i like about this buffet is that the prices are really cheap and worth it. So this buffet is like: you get what you pay for. P.S. Laura is the best!

Not bad for what it is. There were some definite hits and misses food wise. The dessert selection is minimal. For the amount of people that were there it wasn't too dirty. Just your normal food messes kids and lazy adults leave behind. However the bf said the men's room was gross, I didn't venture into the ladies.

Short Review: Quantity over quality, excellent service, the icee machine (that I was really excited about) was brokwn the entire time I was there. Long review: Let me start off by saying, I loved the waitress. I didn't catch her name, but she was very friendly and nice to my daughter. She made sure our plates were always taken away and gave my daughter a plastic bib so she wouldn't ruin her clothes. After the service, the rest went down hill. I couldn't find anything to eat. The mashed potatoes were boxed, the mac and cheese was... icky. The roasted chicken looked a little pink and I worried about the desserts and fruit salad. Yikes? I did like the fried chicken -- for fried chicken it had good flavor, was definitely well cooked, and didn't have too much gross fat. There's not much I can say about this place that hasn't already been said. It's a buffet. Don't come here with super high expectations. It's cheap. It's filling. And, if the icee machine ever works, you could come here for icees.

Just like with any buffet, eating at good ol' Old Country Buffet is good if you have a big belly, especially since it is reasonably priced. Their fried chicken was top-notch, at least as good as KFC's. Many of the items in the vegetable/fruits sections are basically canned though so expect subpar quality from that section. Came here for lunch on a busy Saturday afternoon so I didn't experience any issues with food replenishment.

$15 for all-you-can-eat mediocre-to-sub-par American food? Including (but not limited to): overly-well-done-steak, dry-and-or-way-too-fatty-"prime-rib", green-bean-straight-from-a-can, over-baked-potatoes, and not-soft-serve-soft-serve. The salad bar redeemed things a little. But even then, the freshness of some of those vegetables were questionable. I'm not sure I'm changing anyone's mind about going to Old Country Buffet by writing this review, though. I feel like its patrons know what they're getting themselves in to, and either really enjoy it, or probably don't care, because it's all-you-can-eat. I can empathize. And I'll just leave it at that.

It's exactly what you expect with a few surprises. I come here maybe once a month for lunch and occasionally for dinner. A pretty diverse customer set of all ages and families. Their American cafeteria food is very good. I love the fried chicken in particular with seasoned cabbage, green beans, and mashed potatoes and gravy. Taco bar is also welcome. For dinner I was surprised the steak came medium which is a welcome alternative to the well done found at lots of buffets. Good desserts selection, salad bar, two kinds of soup. Drink selection (extra charge to buffet) is excellent with coffee, hot chocolate in addition to soda. They even have a real Icee machine.

Old Country Buffet isn't a buffet in Las Vegas. It's a buffet in Factoria, Bellevue and it feels like a buffet in Factoria, Bellevue There is a good variety and quantity of food but on the day I visited, the food trays weren't replenished often enough leading to some sad looking last dregs food in some of the trays It did prove a cheap way for me to eat some American classics like fried chicken, mac n cheese and corn bread, which was my intention though I suspect I didn't get the gourmet version of said dishes here! Old Country Buffet isn't fancy but as long as you know the market it's catering for, I think it does a decent job

Staff smoking in front with gloves on... gross people, gross food, been on the toilet alllll day.. gross, gross, GROSS!!!!! BTW, u must pay 2 dollars plus for a drink in a small, old smoky colored cup, but they don't have any kind of drink selection whatsoever. At least get an updated machine. Thanksgiving there was a mad house. So f#*king disgusting. Won't EVER return..

So I was in the mood for an "old people's buffet" and since there's no Furr's Cafeteria around here (is that chain even still around?) I thought I'd check out the Old Country Buffet. Pretty much a mistake. In fact, I'm not sure what drives me to still go to these places occasionally, since I know what I'm going to be getting anyway. I'm also not sure what magic is involved to make food both over-salted and bland at the same time, but the wizards of the Old Country have mastered their craft. Let's be honest: you go to this place because it's cheap and you want to stuff yourself to the gills, and you aren't worried too much about quality. Specifics: All vegetables are either canned or probably arrived in "Sta-Fresh" bags from the Sysco truck. I like green beans. What did they do to them? Meats are super-salty and pretty greasy. Still edible, for the most part, but nothing to write home about. Everything is just so...generic. On the other hand, if your idea of heaven is macaroni and cheese and fried chicken, you might be happy, if you come armed with low expectations for both. The worst was the soup station though. 2 or 3 soups that had emptied out early in the day, and had only dry, crusty soup-remains cooking away happily in the bottom of the soup bins, and NEVER got refilled. I know this because I'm a pig, and I was there for a long time, and I just wanted some soup dammit, and it never arrived. "F" for the soup. The ambience is sheer chaos, with both children and adults crammed into the place ready to pounce on any new food item delivery. The line for the place goes out the door and about 100 feet down the mall at times. They're also charging extra now if you want a drink. Or a "special beverage" or whatever they call it. Lame. I'm trying to think of something else positive to say...not doing too well. I don't think I'll be back anytime soon.

Summary: I will never come here again - ever. If a group of people insists on meeting here for some reason and I am forced to go, I'll go but I won't eat the food. It is probably the worst tasting cafeteria style food I have ever eaten, and I am comparing this to a place that left me vomiting for 48 hours afterwards due to food poisoning. Full story: I had been wanting to come here for a while after seeing the advertisements, and I finally went around 3pm today. I have had decent cafeteria style food experiences before (and a few that were not so good that left me with food poisoning), but I was excited - and hungry! I hadn't eaten anything all day. Service: The host/cashier was very nice and receptive. She asked me if it was my first time here and when I said yes, she offered to give me a tour. She quickly explained where everything was and I thought she did a good job. Since it is a serve yourself style restaurant there are no waiters/waitresses which is totally fine. I'll go more into detail later but after a horrible meal the staff was courteous to offer me a refund - so the overall service was positive, except for the kitchen manager. Food: This is where things get messy and not in the good BBQ sorta way. My browsing of the food options quickly turned into a scavenger hunt, not for tasty morsels but for things that looked like they hadn't been left out too long. Also the food choices felt like it was more geared for kids/teenagers than adults. Mac and cheese, corn dogs, pizza, baked and fried chicken, a meatloaf, salad and taco bar, 2 soups, sweet rolls and cornbread, a seafood patty, baked beans, and a swath of desserts. There were other items to be sure, but over half the ones out there looked a little off. I started with a taco and mashed potatoes with gravy (one of my favorite sides - I have been known to eat it for breakfast when I was a kid) and a chocolate souffle looking dessert. My second round was a baked chicken wing, mac and cheese, a corn dog, a slice of pepperoni pizza, and a sweet roll, with a caramel/cinnamon/frosting topped cake (not a cinnamon roll). The good: Mac and Cheese - this was the only truly tasty thing here. The mediocre: Taco - not bad but not good. The shell broke easily and the meat looked really greasy, but otherwise was ok. Mashed Potatoes - runny. I dished this first in a small mound and by the time I got my taco it had run over 2/3rds of the plate. It really needed to be whipped longer for a thicker consistency. Taste wasn't too bad though. Corn dog - meh at best. The outside seemed right but the hot dog inside felt a little mushy. Not sure if it cooked all the way. Desserts - nothing to write home about but not horrible. The chocolate dish (not exactly sure what to call it) was a little crusty, not quite stale but the texture seemed a little off. The caramel/frosted cake wasn't bad. The bad and the ugly: Chicken wing - this was undercooked. I spit it out of my mouth - more on this later when I brought it up to the kitchen manager. Sweet roll - somewhat stale and not very sweet. Pizza - possibly the most vile piece of pizza I have ever tasted. I took one bite and spit it back out. The cheese tasted absolutely nasty. The kitchen manager - after spitting out two different types of food in a row back onto my plate (undercooked chicken and vile pizza), I saw the kitchen manager come out onto the floor and I went to speak with him. I told him my concerns about the chicken and asked about the length of time and temperature they cooked it at. He told me 165 degrees for 15 minutes. 13 minutes for their fried chicken. I expressed my concern about the chicken being undercooked and told him about the pizza being disgusting. He took it as well as could be expected for the first minute or so, then started to tell me that I was wrong. He had served 800 other people today and nobody else complained. He offered me a refund and spent the next couple minutes telling me I was wrong, the food was fine and that there wasn't any problems. Clearly he wasn't interested in hearing problems with his food. I mean I appreciate a cook taking pride in their work, but telling a customer that their complaints aren't truthful just doesn't work. Afterwards I spoke with the hostess and told her my concerns - she was sympathetic and a good model of customer service dealing with a difficult situation.

Wishing they had a 0 star option. FOOD: First when walking in you can see that almost every dish has been out for hours and hours. The fried chicken looked like a really really dark brown color and it was hard as a rock, and the mash potatoes has built a thick skin on top because of being out for so long. The lettuce in the salad bar has started browning and all the desserts were incredibly dry. SERVICE: While I was here the fire alarm went off and the mall announced for an immediate EVACUATION. The manager was telling the customers to stay and sit down because he highly doubted that it was a serious matter. As the stores around us prepared for closing down and to leave but Old Country Buffet was still having their customers stay. I left the restaurant and came back after the alarm stopped going off. As soon as I entered the restaurant again the alarm went back on, I pulled the manager aside and asked for a refund but he said no I can just sit down and eat while the alarm was going off. There was a fire in the mall and still insisted for his employees and customers to stay.

People have low rating on this place for the reason that's cheap buffet. That's what Old Country Buffet is about. It's cheap, food is OK (you won't die eating it), but it will fill you up quickly for common dishes. That's all. Let me make it clear: Value = (Taste + Service)/Price. Their Value is high. I know the manager and he always came out to greet us in person. For taste, they got a nice area with Mexican food. You can have taco, burrito, taco salad, nachos, bean and beef over rice... That's the biggest reason I come here for, beside the smooth ice cream at the end. Now they also have stir fried noodle area where the cooks make it in front of you. Sort of like what you get in Blue Fin (instead of noodle soup, they serve stir fried). Well, it doesn't taste that great but the food does it. Just average common American food. Their stir fried pans are electronic so it's slow as heck to cook something though. So watch out for that line. We never had to wait for more than 7min to sit down, especially crowded Sat and Sun afternoon. Can't complain about that. Dirty dishes are being put away super fast. No complain either. Value = 4 star. Period. Definitely come back when I am lazy to cook and feel like Mexican.

This particular location is TERRIBLE. I usually go to the OCB in Lynnwood but i came for dinner a few times here. Everything i had was bad and not worth the $15. Everything dish was dry and seemed like it's been cooked for a while. None of the stations were really full and it was messy. There wasn't that many people there and I've seen the Lynnwood one packed and was still presentable. I would not eat at this location again. I'd rather go to Red Robin next door.

The new individual servings are interesting, the pork and grits was actually really good. I don't have high expectations when I'm here, but my parents like a buffet and so sometimes I end up here. It's not terrible. I usually get mac and cheese, corn, mashed potatoes, and some kind of meat, like ribs. And then they have tons of dessert to choose from.

Really terrible food... Went there for lunch but the food was really low quality. For example, chicken thigh is super dry, fish were dry and too sour. Egg tasted like plastic... A lot of microwave food. And we paid 50 dollars for 4 people for those cheap food and low quality food ...

First let me say that I have not been to an OCB in YEARS. So I figured why not try it since the last time I had it was actually pretty good for being what it was. Today I went for breakfast. Yeah..... NO. The food was pretty bad and just meh. Heed the rest of the reviewers warnings. Just say no. Totally not worth the price. Go to panera or anywhere else.

So gross. From the clientele to the food, this place is a nightmare. Disgusting waste.of money. If you want food poison this is your best bet. Food is disgusting american fare. You'll find fried chicken, mac and cheese and the likes. If you want to know trailer trash dining, this is the place! There are many other places in Factoria to eat, avoid this one!

Usually it's a solid 3 star which is ok for the price and all you can eat. It's my favorite 3 star in the area and great for family and friends. However today the salad bar was really not up to basic standards. Cold corn that we added to the cold salad bar was filled with a slime - also bad smell and sour taste. Got rid it that took a new plate and overall today it was way below normal solid 3 star levels. Food seemed not fresh, hot food not hot enough, cold food not cold enough. Will be back hope next time back to 3 star.

My family usually eat at the Old Country Buffet for brunch on the weekends. We love their fresh Omelet bar. You can pick the items you want and they will cook it for you. My kids love the crispy bacon, hash brown and eggs benedict.

Broke down. 1.) No more steak ever, discontinued!...boo! 2.) No more turkey or ham at the salad bar. 3.) Broccoli salad made with "baby food" texture broccoli. What happened to the broccoli flowerettes? 4.) Mushy apples in apple salad. 5.) Broken Icee Machine, none available...really? 6.) Chocolate milk tastes like chocolate water. What happened OCB? I know you were never 5 stars, but you were a solid 3 with a few bright and honorable spots as far as buffet/cafeteria fare goes. We make it here once every other month with a coupon, but after tonight I think we'll pass until they get it together. Place was a ghost town too, guess we're not the first ones to notice the sharp decline in...."average". Not good. Simply Broke down.

First time going to this location a week ago. Thought it must be really good since there was so many people there, but I thought wrong. The lady at the cashier kept trying to get us to get drinks with our buffet, after we told her several times that we just wanted water. Going up to the buffet, there was a load of, "What to even get.... nothing looks good..." mac & cheese was really liquidy, meat loaf wasn't great, the chicken noodle soup or something actually had ham in there... which is really different, didnt even bother eating the ham. Clam chowder was really watery, not even thick. The only thing I actually kind of finished was my nachos... with "pico de gallo," jalapeños, and beef chili thing. Not worth it, even with the price being only over 8 something. I wouldn't come back, even if it was the only place open, or the only place I could afford.

Old Country Buffet...you get what you pay for. With the coupon, it's worth it. There is quite a selection to pick from. It's not the best food in Factoria, but it has variety and Icee machine. The food is so-so, so curb your expectation. It's crowded because of the coupon deals. Definitely check it out if you are starving for a deal and hungry...and I was hungry! Hungry for a deal.

Returned for lunch last week. If people are looking for gourmet food served in a quiet, elegant restaurant you won't be happy here. It is what it is and nothing more nothing less. The salad bar is probably the best part. The lettuce was fresh and crisp and there was a great selection of other items and fresh fruit. Main lunch items...nothing to get excited over. Very obvious that it's just cheap food. Had a serving of pot roast served in a small skillet that was better tasting than I would have expected. Again, it's just cheap food and about what I expected for the money spent. The dessert selection looked great. I agree about charging now for drinks. They should raise the prices a bit and include them as they did before. The place was fairly clean, the staff was nice. Kids swarmed EVERYWHERE and it was as noisy as an Army Mess Hall. Overall, not bad and about what we expected. If this isn't up to your standards, there are a lot of other restaurants in Factoria.

I've been coming to Old Country Buffet (specifically THIS location), since I was about 9 or 10 years old, back when the price was about $9 for a meal with drinks included - this had to be at least late 1990s or early 2000s. Now it's a bit steeper and drinks are charged extra. OCB was a lot better back in the day, I have to admit. My childhood experiences play a great role here, which is why I tolerate this place more than newer customers. The majority of the food is still the same, though maybe cooked with less 'love and attention,' but it's got a nice, cozy atmosphere and the familiarity is what makes the experience worthwhile. Anyone who loved a place as a kid know what I'm talking about - those memories are hard to shake off! This place tends to get a public lashing and sometimes I shake my head sadly and say 'oh hey, it's not so bad...' I always remember clam chowder Fridays, bbq ribs Saturdays...now the chowder is watered down and it makes me mourn for what it once was. I probably shouldn't rate this place so high since there are a lot of areas they need to improve on. But they have been bringing in some new dishes, added a stir fry bar, and a wider range of desserts, so I guess the process is gradual. As long as I live in Washington, I'll be fighting urges to come back and in the end, they win every time.

The worst buffet on the planet ... Food is tasteless , staff is very rude... They hassle people to buy the drink even though It's optional. they could add the drink with the food and leave people alone... Last time I was there I was with my wife and two kids, the manager was at the register charged me for 4 drinks even though it's optional and even though kids get free drinks...I told him to cancel everything....that was my last time there.....

It's Old Country Buffet, not a Gordon Ramsay style dining experience. I knew that. However, I did not know that snowflake potatoes had uniformed sized potato lumps in them. This is what Old Country Buffet has. Who are they trying to fool? I would call Old Country Buffet, airline food. However that is an insult to the airline industry. Not worth the $12 they charged. Also this is a restaurant, not a Chrysler dealership circa 1975. There no need to pushy and rude.

After signing up for their mailing list and received a coupon via email, I was excited to use it at the Factoria location. My excitement died and went up in flames of anger at the cash register though. The coupon does not state how to redeem it nor does it explicitly state that it must be printed like most coupons sent online. (Keep up Old Country Buffet!) I presented the email coupon on my smartphone. Having difficulty looking at the coupon from my phone, the lady cashier told me that the coupon must be printed in order to redeem. I told her that it does not state that on the coupon, so I didn't print it. She rudely processed the coupon and my order for two. The coupon required at least one drink purchase, so when she asked if I wanted drinks with it, I said yes. After receiving the check, I realized that I was charged for two drinks, so I asked her to refund me the second one as I only order the drink in the first place because it was required to redeem the coupon. She had me wait at the counter until she was done with ALL the customers in line during dinner time, which was A LOT of customers. She clearly didn't care for my business. Even after there was a break in the line, she proceeded to help the customer walking in instead of processing my refund before the customer approaches the register. The floor manager was there to help her and although he was doing nothing, he did not help me with my refund though he was fully aware of the situation as he was brought in by the cashier to explain that they were doing me a favor for processing the unprinted coupon. He was also irritated that he needed to process refund and clearly didn't want my business. If you clearly needed the coupon printed, then I would suggest that you STATE THAT ONE THE COUPON! I am not going to waste paper just to print a coupon that you will probably just throw away at the end of the night! I was beyond peeved at this point, and told the two of them that I would like a refund for everything and that I would rather eat elsewhere where they would like my business than to wait around for them to give me attitude and show me what the absolute worst customer service looks like. I received the refund and never returned again. Unsubscribing from the mailing list is a definite HELL YES!!

Poor food quality .. no variety of food Waitress didnt even bother to pickup used dishes .. Had paid $30 for dinner for 2 .. Total waste of money .. Dont go here !!

  • Ibi L.

It's not as good anymore, maybe (most likely, actually) because I was younger I had lower expectations but the quality isn't so great anymore and I'd rather be paying the same amount of money to go elsewhere. They didn't even have ice cream or cones, they had frozen yogurt instead. It was just lacking.

What can I say.. Its OCB.. I love the chocolate milk.. All of the rest of the food during lunch and dinner is just decent.. I do however, like the breakfast brunch on Sat and Sunday.. They have an omelet bar along with all of the other normal breakfast foods.. I guess it is hard to mess up breakfast

  • James C.

I use to be a fan, but over the years, it seems the food choices & quality has gone down. It appeared after they started separating the beverage price from the meal. Now the food seems cheaper and blander. I would prefer to pay a higher price for better quality food and choices.

I've been here a million times with my Girlfriend and friends and this place has seldom ever dissapointed me. The food is pretty good, especially for what you're paying for. If you down three full plates like I can (it used to be 5 back in highschool) in one sitting then this place is definately worth every penny. The service is nice, there is plenty of space. The crowd that goes here is usually on the elderly side but that is a good thing for me because I like it to be peaceful and private. Sometimes however, I feel like the managers at the front desk may be rude and passive towards people of a younger age category. It doesn't really matter to me though because I only care about coming here and enjoying my time with friends and devouring all of their food.

Fake ivy everywhere... This place is the big nasty crown on the sadness that is Factoria Mall. Bad, bad, bad food. You are definitely getting quantity over quality here. Everything tastes like salty, reheated, lukewarm mush. Also for the ten or so dollars a person, you could get a decent plate of food at another restaurant that you'd actually eat, rather than getting twenty plates of this and that that you take a bite out of then dump. And you wouldn't get indigestion on top of that. And the "drink bar" was super expensive seeing as it was basically just a free refill type deal you'd see at a non-buffet restaurant but you could get slushies or coffee too. I only got one drink so it really wasn't worth the money. The carrot cake was ok, but the chocolate chip cookie was actually pretty bad. How do you make a bad chocolate chip cookie?!

  • Ginny K.

I've been coming here every once in a while for the past 10 years. The only thing I will say is that I personally feel that the service gets worse and worse each time. In the past, it was a fairly decent place for dinner at the $12.95 per adult. It was always like that. A little over a year ago, they changed so that you would pay $11.95 per adult, but an extra $1.99 if you wanted access to the fountain drinks/coffee. I understand that there are budget cuts, and that they need ways to earn profit, but the service here is absolutely terrible. You will literally be watching your empty dishes pile up right in front of you, while the workers will be doing whatever chatting with each other, or helping themselves to the pre-made not-so-fresh food. It was never this bad. We tipped the waitress who gave us the most service than any of the other "workers". They close at 9, but tried to kick us out at around 8:15. The last time I will be going there after 10 years.

To my surprise, the food was fresh! It's not a surprise they're probably serving reheated processed food that's high in sodium and cholesterol/ triglycerols (you expect that from this buffett), however, the food slabs were refilled super frequently and almost nothing was sitting stale and old! I hadn't gone there for +5 years but for some kids I was baby sitting I had to eat. I actually liked it, haha. We went again today. $7.99 for Saturday lunch is a good deal. Tacos, pasta, soup or bread, and the classic American dinner style meals, were all delicious. The deserts aren't as fresh as the food. But ice cream and cookies are all I need and frankly, their freshness wasn't my priority after a satisfying meal. :)

This is a great place to go if you've got a large party and they can't decide what kind of food to eat. Someone may want pizza, another person wants salad, another chicken, etc. Well, this place isn't gormet food but it's great for a bunch of people wanting to get together and they can't decide on one kind of food.

I know, I know, why is it even worth the time to write a review about OCB? This is hands down the worst place to have a bunch of senior citizens (there are sooooo many of them here; super sweet and always smiling, apparently the discount is the best around town) downing chalky mashed potatoes, gummy corn on the cob, and the most horrible excuse for a grilled steak, unless you want it extra bloody and char-burned to perfection- **they could choke OK! Secondly, yesterday's leftovers are now in your chicken noodle soup and this mysterious "sundae fudge cake surprise". YUCK! The grossed out, I-want-to-vomit-right-now feeling has officially returned. Yippee.

Buffets are my downfall - I don't know what it is, but something about all the food you can eat for one price makes we want to overindulge...it's like I have to absolutely make sure I am getting my money's worth! Such is the case with OCB. They have a lot of choices - there's a salad bar (frankly, I've never been there - I say, "what's the point"?), plus many hot items. Plus they have "the carvery" where someone carves ham, roast beef, or turkey, some kind of "classy" meat. Makes me feel like I'm at the Casino buffet! They also have "ethnic" foods, which means a taco bar and some Chinese-style dishes. I actually like much of the food there - I especially like the cinnamon rolls, the pasta dishes, and the casseroles. I am pretty easy to please, so OCB does the trick. It's great for kids, as they can have their choice. Desserts are plentiful. The staff is hard working, and pleasant. I sometimes get what I call the "buffet effect" after my visit. This is an issue with my consumption quantity, not about quality of the food. It's like cleansing, but not so good...you get the point. If you are looking for a good price for a lot of food, check out OCB. If you are looking for a more luxury eating event, see my review of Porcao (Seattle has Ipanema Grill, which I have been to and will review in the future - it's not as fancy as Porcao, but pretty good). The Brazilians know how to combine all you can eat with quality!

so, here we have a buffet. this buffet has a senior club. this buffet is in a mall. this buffet has kids impatient in booths using their butter knives to reenact the canterbury tales. you're obviously not going to get fucking oysters rockefeller. what you do get, however, isn't that horrible. i'm a salad bar person, and they do a beyond decent job. they had my favorite carrot and raisin salad. they also have a lot of jello, so there's fair novelty in that. the food itself is the kind you want to pile on a plate and mix together. i want a massive piece of roasted chicken sitting on top of my mashed potatoes that are blocking the peas from escaping into my spaghetti which is kind of absorbing my salad dressing -- but all of this is okay, because it's a buffet. if i want a taco and lo mein and garlic bread on my plate, it's going to happen. if i want a plate of macaroni and cheese and gelatin marshmallow salad, it's going to happen. the motive here is to extinguish all of your cravings at once. are they going to be the tastiest, best prepared samplings of your lifetime -- probably not; however, done correctly, you will leave sated and possibly never wanting to eat again. if you want it better, make it yourself. there is a safeway within literal walking distance -- but you won't because everyone wants buffet. when can i mix all that variety together in one meal at home? the milk comes out of a massive dispenser that makes you feel like you're in middle school in the 1970s. the dessert bar is basically a small portion of the willy wonka factory (rice crispy treats, cheesecakes, cookies, brownies, crumbles... endless), so keep in mind where the milk dispenser is. it's also fun to drink milk out of a straw again. i haven't done that in ages. again, the desserts aren't the greatest i've eaten. no one's grandmother made them from scratch from recipe cards, but they're not bad. anywhere where i can dual wield rice crispy treats and brownies is already a winner. you have to be at least slightly carnivorous and have a bit of a sense of humor in you to appreciate this place. a nap is usually the preferred activity afterward. leave your calorie count at the door. if you're over 60, you're probably already a hardcore buffet connoisseur and, therefore, i don't have to even continue.

The only time I ever come here is when I get the buy one get one free in the mail. The quality of the food isn't so great but I love the mac n cheese! After a huge plate of mac n cheese, I need to satisfy my sweet tooth. And they sure do have a huge selection in dessert. I love the peach cobbler. I usually just scoop up all of the top part (sugary crispy crunchy crust) Yumm.... But after a dinner at the old country... I feel sick stuffed and need be in a gym for an entire week.

Can't believe no one has written about Old country yet. This is one of the my most frequented restaurants. Good food and plenty to go around. Pasta, macaroni, ham, beef, pizza, salads, and of course, fried chicken. Mmmmm.... fried chicken. Best thing to do is to grab a bunch of friends, hang out here (there's something for everyone), and then go hit factoria mall afterwards. Great way to burn off the calories from the binge and grab some clearence items from the nearby shops.

There is not that much variety of foods. The only reason I went was because it was $5.25 each if you go before 10:30. The food there was either too plain or too salty. I liked the Roast Beef and the desserts though especially the ice cream (the only reason for the extra star).

I have never actually eaten here because the most vomitous smells emanate from this place. Actually, it smells so bad that I lose any amount of appetite I may have had prior to walking past. Seriously, if you want to lose a few pounds and you are in any way put off by extremely bad smelling food--just walk by this place once a day. I swear you won't want to eat for the rest of the day.

yah yah... I think people who are giving this place so much crap is because they're embarassed to eat at it. Deep down inside, you know you're an All-American, decadant, greedy splurger... it's okay... cause I occasionally like to come here and pig out. Good all-American place to be. I mean, steamed vegetables/mashed potatoes, cheap spagetti, salad just can't get much better... it's just cheap, junk American-style food. But it gets me full when I can't decide on what to get that night... so it's all good.

It would be nice if they can provide more for vegetarians like vegetarian beans in Mexican section and different hot vegetables like broccoli, okra, cauliflower, sweet- potato , corn on the cob etc. Also there was hardly any fresh fruits -they were all canned ones.We found more meat in hot food section than vegetables.

Well, at least I have some nice things to say about this place. It's an Old Country Buffet, so what do you expect? Not a whole lot of variation from other locations, that's for sure. The one in Factoria Mall is hardly better than any of the other ones, but it does have a few plus sides. It kind of looks nice, the food is super cheap, the variety is acceptable, and you won't be hungry after eating here. At least you shouldn't be, since it's a buffet. But the food itself... yikes. Terribly bland, terribly uninspired, and sort of lacking in quality here. As others have said before me, quantity is what you're getting if you come here. You can forget about quality. Whenever I come to a buffet like this, my plan is usually to grab as much fried chicken as I can and just eat that until desserts. Technically, there is more food per dollar this way than just going to KFC and ordering a bucket of chicken, so at least this decision is somewhat justified. The problem is that the chicken here is not soft, not really tender, and just not very enjoyable to eat. It's still good, but I'm just left to wonder how much of this food was just frozen and then microwaved, as opposed to being made fresh. So for the sake of having some variety in my photos, I got something beside fried chicken this time. To start off, the spaghetti and mashed potatoes. I really suspect that they're just preparing it after it's been frozen. Otherwise, food shouldn't taste so dull. Or maybe they do make their food this way, and this is common knowledge, and I'm just slow to learn it. What else is there? Macaroni and cheese, French fries, hamburgers, tacos, and not a shred of originality in there. They taste like something anybody could have easily made. There are hardly any attempts to spice any of this food up, and in the end it just seems unappealing. Desserts are at least somewhat of a step up. The carrot cake and peach cobbler here at least don't give me the impression that they were hastily created in large quantities. They're actually pretty good, but they could also not be made from scratch for all I know. And the ice cream. Well, even if ice cream is bad, it's usually still pretty good. You can top it off with sprinkles, chocolate syrup, and Maraschino cherries and make a sundae out of it. Great for the kids. The biggest problem here is that they definitely have the philosophy of quantity over quality. But it's a buffet, so quantity should be irrelevant. So what we see here is basically the lowest quality that's possible in a buffet but is still at an acceptable level. The plus side is that it doesn't get any cheaper than this. I still wouldn't recommend eating here under normal circumstances though. It's in a mall; you could easily find better restaurants not far away. They probably won't be cheaper, but you're probably doing yourself a disservice by lowering your standards to OCB's level like I did. One weird thing about this place is that it's packed to the gills on Thanksgiving with people who want to have their dinners here for some reason. If it's with relatives they haven't met in a while, I don't think they're making a good impression.

I was just looking to see what everyone had to say about the Factoria OCB. I also looked at the photos, funny how there is a group of them from 4/19/13 that looks like they were uploaded from a food styling website. I know damned well that N O T H I N G looks that good at OCB. So, to whomever posted the photos....don't piss in my ear and tell me it's rainin'! I may be crazy but I'm not stooopid. No stars for you!!! I typed that in my Soup Nazi voice.

This was our first visit to OCB. We went at dinner time. The nice thing is the age based prices on the children's menu. It's like Ryan's and Golden Corral for those of us from The South. Like both of them they work only in the concept of stack them deep feed them cheap. At dinner time they are VERY busy with kids running around like they have a tape worm that is attaching them. I found it very close to military maneuver between your table and buffet counters. It's almost an "enter at your own risk" situation. We even saw a child playing with a remote controlled car down the aisle into other diners returning for more food. I would NOT recommend OCB to anyone with shellfish allergies. They do not put fish and seafood away from the other foods such as fries so that made the entire island off limits to my family. Customers used the tongs interchangeably. They had awesome mashed potatoes that reminded me of holidays. The much advertised "steak nights" was patrolled by an employee cutting a well done piece of steak into small portions. They also had what looked like Baked Ham and Roast Beef the night we went. The ribs(?) had a good sauce on them but because of it being almost 100% bone it was hard to find any meat on them. The desert section is amazing. They have just about anything you can ask for. I had the Coconut Pie. It's almost impossible not to find something for every sweet tooth in the world.

This is what you get at old country---value for your money!!! Breakfast is only 7.11! There choices for everyone depending what time of day you go---salads, steaks, tacos, omelets, pancakes, etc. This isn't no 5 star buffet/restaurant-it's more at 2.5-3.0. But you get value for your money here!

I've been here many times. They have a good selection at the buffet. The staff is pretty attentive. The food is fresh and regularly rotated. The bathrooms are clean enough, which is always important at a buffet. The weekend brunch is quite good with all the American classics items. Will be back for sure.

Employees filled the restaurant with noxious chemicals cleaning the floor where the ice cream station had been with some seriously aromatic chemicals, it was 11:30 am on a Thursday, we moved to another part of the restaurant but the smell and taste just followed us, we tried to talk to them but they just shrugged, we had to leave. Chicken with a side of toxins. I'll pass on that thank you very much.

I had to reduce my rating from 4 to 3 due to the fact they refuse to use a second cashier, making us wait in line just to pay to get in. They do not provide chairs, either. After around 10 minutes my legs start to hurt. I went away last time, could not stand the stupidity of them letting one cashier try to service the line coming in. I eat here a lot since going on Dr. Fuhrman's Nutritarian Diet. It requires lots of greens and veggies. I also went vegan on top of that, so this place is one of the best deals I can get, given the large quantities of veggies needed. My review reflects eating here over years, sometimes including the meat dishes, nowadays not, but I will give you my take on everything. You can eat well here if you don't expect everything to be equally good. But you may be surprised how good some things actually are here. The place offers fresh salad in unlimited quantities, including fruit. Novilho's the expensive Brazilian Rodizio in the same mall offers salad bar for 25 bucks that does not have fruit. Salad bars these days are hard to find, yet with the new style healthy eating, we need more of them. I would not be going to OCB were it not for their salad bar. I put some of everything, and find what's good that day. Some days it's crisp apples, some days firm cold cherry tomatoes, sometimes great beets or cucumbers that just snap, and greens that are fresh and tasty. Apple crisp for desert is quite good. They serve, in other words, everything including nutrition-rich-foods, and it's your choice, they will not filter it for you. The place hums with activity, they refresh things constantly. I've given up meat for now, but I've had the best roast turkey breast in my life at this place, moist juicy full of flavor! No, really, I was quite surprised. You have to test things a bit and find what is good that time, and it will vary quite a bit. They also have a Mexican food bar with decent salsas, beans, meats, chips, etc. Where else can a veggie person get cooked cabbage leaves and put a few types of salsa on them? Their fall-apart pot roast is flavorful. You get there after 3:30pm and it jumps to dinner prices with the roasts and other meats coming out then. For lunch it is only 7 bucks. Things you might try and not like: their pizza (northwest never was much good at that anyway), carrots, string beans, corn, any cooked veggies except cabbage are usually way over-cooked. Things I liked that you might: mashed potatoes are real and good, gravies are not too bad, lasagna pretty good, roast beef not bad, turkey breast great, pot roast excellent despite fatty, tex-mex bar, salad bar, I put tomato pasta sauce on mashed potatoes. This place could offer seniors a better discount, they just do not eat as much, and more of them would turn up for a couple bucks less. 11.50 for dinner with No drinks except water, is steep for seniors who usually can't eat that much. Make it in the 7 lunch, 8 dinner and I think they would get more business with less cost.

Seriously, the food is really bad here. The "clean" dishes are dripping with water and the counter is a mess. I don't want to come here even to just have salad anymore. The women bathroom sink counter was filled with water. One of the broken facut is exposed.

What can I say about OCB? It's not very good or very bad, but very average for a buffet. At least I know I won't get food poisoning like some other buffets out there. The food variety is pretty good and the quality isn't bad for what you pay for. I think the quality has actually improved since the last time I was there. The service is quick and friendly. They pick up your plates in no time once you are finished. My only real complaint is that you have to pay for drinks now when before it was included with the price of the buffet.

I don't have the time to write many reviews, but I am making the time for this one. My family and I were shocked to see two RATS running through the dining area this evening. Several other groups also saw the rats, and one patron managed to take a picture of one of the rats which she will send to the health authorities. We reported this immediately to the staff, but one told me that they were aware of the problem and could not do much about it due to the infestation throughout the Factoria Mall. My family and I lost our appetite after seeing the rats and did not finish our meals since we could no longer trust the food. This may not be their fault, but it is really their duty to clean up this hazard (throughout all the restaurants at Factoria Mall, if this is the case) and not jeopardize patrons' health. I agree with the other posts (the food quality has gone substantially further downhill from what I remember more than a year ago), but some of us come once in a blue moon to satisfy the whims of our kids. However, I did not expect this from Old Country Buffet ... last time at this place.

More like a 1.5 I guess... went here for breakfast one day as my husband had a sort of nostalgia for the place, and it's REALLY cheap at breakfast so it's not like we'd lose a lot of money for this gamble. The positives -- the employees seemed very polite and were actively busing tables and such... and, uh, it didn't cost a lot. My husband also enjoyed the all you can eat breakfast links (something that I don't keep in the house). The downside... it just felt kind of dirty to me. The table wasn't fully clean (it was sort of sticky), I didn't really trust that the silverware was washed thoroughly and spent a little while choosing my utensils, etc. I didn't find much that I wanted to eat (the selection wasn't great) either... I guess they had a decent drink bar (which costs a little extra, but is worth it). I'd say, if you have a really hungry bunch, this is a good bang for the buck... but don't expect a lot from the food... it's buffet food, and just average buffet food at that. Also, expect a lot of families and those with small children who may or may not be hanging over the side of the booth right next to you and coughing on the back of your head :(

OCB - need I say more. So much food but hardly anything to eat. Makes no sense but it's the honest truth. Everything feels unhealthy and tastes salty. It's a good deal for the family I suppose but not sure if it's worth it.

When I think of Old Country Buffet, I think of a restaurant of plenty! With mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, corn, random pieces forms of comfort food including fried chicken and pizza. They also have a taco bar that I never made my way to, and a pretty display of little cakes and cookies. At least, that is the 8 year old me that thinks that way. When I think of it NOW, I think of mediocre food, that is mostly bland but very filling, yet we cannot stop ourselves from refilling our plates. But come on people, what do you expect? This OCB after all, if the name doesn't give it away, the decor does, everything in it is old, the cups, tables, chairs, silverware... need I go on? But, you already knew that going in there! Not to mention the tables of screaming kids that happen to always sit in the booth next to me. That alone can ruin your appetite. But you come here not for the quality of food, but for the quantity! So eat up folks. Regardless, it's a good place to have 'good times' with friends, and the food is tolerable enough. The Factoria location is kept pretty clean and the staff is friendly. Have I experienced better? Of course I have, but I don't have high expectations for this place so I leave content. Either way, you have to try it once in your food journey.

The only part I like about this place is the dessert. Bread pudding, key lime pie, and vanilla soft serve. The end. And a few hot foods. I seriously used to come here so often with my family and church friends. I now ask myself, WHY? Surprisingly, the lines for this place get LONG. When you come to Old Country Buffet, there is a large variety of food to choose from and you can get as much or as little of it as you want. Salads, soups, hot foods, drinks, and the awesome endless sweets. Salads are build your own, there are also potato salads, fruit, pasta salads, and jello available as well. Soups include chicken noodle, beef stew, clam chowder, broccoli cheddar, and others. I like the chicken noodle. Hot foods include macaroni and cheese, spaghetti, pizza, fries, mashed potatoes, ham, roast beef, fried fish, fried chicken, roasted chicken, vegetables, baked fish, dinner rolls...I like the spinach marie, corn bread dressing and chicken and dumplings. Drinks include pretty much anything you can imagine... There are daily specials, so the dishes for hot foods change. Breakfast is also available here. I wouldn't come back.

Went with a few people from our building which was the only good thing about the visit to OCB. The fish and chips were cold and had enough breading on a piece of bland previously frozen, supposed denizen of the sea; to coat all of the inhabitants of Seattle Aquarium. Moving on the the next sampling of dishes-chicken fried steak, put some bread crumbs on the tires of the van and they would have tasted better, the mashed potatoes were instant with that distinct nose twinge that one gets from nibbling on sheetrock. Dessert-soft serve ice cream-definitely powdered mix with a hint of Crisco for texture. First and last time we ever go to OCB. Without being graphic; let;s just say we(my wife and I) were so glad that Factoria Mall has restrooms right across from the restaurant. One redeeming quality-the lady who bused our table was very nice.

First time back here in, oh, 10 years or so. Its OK and we had no high expections. It is what it is -- a cheap buffet. But, few negatives. The $.50 (that's fifty cents) senior discount is a bit insulting. Make it worthwhile and us old coots may come more often and, i think, we do eat little less than most young ones. The selections seems less then what it was 10+ years ago, but, p'ly keeps the price down (would be nice if they had more fruits). On the other hand, to charge for drinks (especially for what they offer -- sodas, sweet tea and lousy coffee) seems excessive.

In the past we have had a good experience and a value for the money. We go for the breakfast, but not satisfied today. Good thing we anticipated dinner to be served, which offered some tasty alternatives to the uninspiring breakfast. Would I go again? Yes, I think my meal today was a fluke.

I hate giving one stars. I hate even more when I eat at a place that deserves one star. I went to factoria to do some shopping and after hitting Target I was ready for some breakfast. I thought this would be the place, big breakfast buffet. I can get everything I wanted and more. Well my disappointment started early....no OJ? Eh? really? All the soda I can drink for breakfast? sigh. I managed to save it by making an adhoc Arnold Palmer at the soda machine. Next, everything tasted like it had been sitting there for hours waiting to ambush my digestive track and looking back it probably had been. Eggs, stale and crusty, potatos the same, sausage and bacon, check strike three. I managed to eat it all because I was starving and then scarfed down some toast to soak up the grease and 2 grapefruits to at least get something with any kind of nutritional value into my pie hole. It was the breakfast that kept on giving as later in the afternoon it gave me a reminder as to what kind of garbage I had just run through my system. Never going back, if you can't get breakfast right, I have zero hope you will get the more complex meals correct.

Ok. That sucked. Ok, sure, it's all you can eat, and sure, we went partly to have a South Park funny moment, but ... that sucked. I don't think all you can eat counts for that much when the food doesn't taste like much of anything. Better to take that 12 bucks or so, spend it on a smaller meal of better quality. The only reason i could ever see myself going back is if i had kids so rambunctious i couldn't take them to a real restaurant.

Received coupon in email. Did not read the small print that it was for "dinner" only. Tried to use it for lunch which is cheaper than dinner prices. The cashier mentioned that the software does not take the coupon at lunch time. It would be nice if the coupons that they send can be used for any meal. I don't understand why it had to be used for the most expensive meal. Anyways, a few of the food trays were empty. I wanted mashed potatoes and could not get them until the end of my meal when I had to wait for them to be replenished. My daughter wanted the taco bowls and they were all gone by the time she went to the taco bar. The battered fish was chewy and didn't taste well. The coupon brought us in but we left disappointed by not being able to use the coupon, the shortage of food entrees, and the taste.

The food was okay but not great...The price is decent for what you are getting and the desserts is the best part because it makes my 2yr daughter so happy. You pay like 7 bucks and get to eat whatever you want... who wouldn't be down for that? That includes your ice cream, cake, salad, and whatever else. I like the food here! It's very home-style cooking. I would advise not eating like 3 days in advance though, just because I never like feeling like a fat ass after eating from a buffet.

I absolutely love OCB, because of the large amounts of food, and cheap bucks! As soon as I step into OCB, the cashier is friendly. The food quality is above average, and the cleanliness is good. I love the mashed potatoes and gravy, because you can hardly taste the milk which I LOVE. The chicken also is delicious, and the menu changes from time. Overall, OCB is a probably good place for a family.

    (4)
  • Craig M.

Okay, I really do LOVE this place. My partner and I went in on a Sunday evening expecting plastic tasting food that's mushy and without any flavor. We were completely surprised! The bread with honey butter was delicous as was the ham, shrimp, mac and cheese, breaded fish, roasted veggies, taco bar, salads, etc. I think one of the keys to their fresh food is that the containers they put out are small so they are always refreshing them. Oh, and they have chocolate milk and and Icee machine. It was clean and the staff was friendly and quick to pick up dishes. We have decided to make this a one a month visit because we just ate way too much. Now, if your type of restaurant is the place where you pay $10 for a taste of something, this isn't your place. But if you are okay paying $13 to eat tasty food so you are filled to the gills, then definitely go here!

  • Jens J.

Yep, like the name says it is --- it's a buffet. But no need to be a snob and look down at OCB because actually...the peanut butter cookies, the chocolate chip cookies and the devils food cake are excellent and seem fresh-baked on the premises. On the rare occasion that I don't feel guilty about fat grams and calories and want something quick, cheap and without fuss at lunchtime on a weekday, I will come here. I'm a bit paranoid about MSG and other food additives, but I have never had a reaction from eating at OCB (even their soups and gravies). And yes, you should tip the bussers. They work hard cleaning up after you and without a lot of thanks. And how come, the last time I was there, they were letting the kitchen workers listen to some really nice cumbia, but patrons had to listen to elevator music. Hey, pipe the cumbia throughout the entire restaurant!

You can get all the food you want for around 10 bucks, the quality is not good but the food is good for what it is, cheap all you can eat buffet food. I always start with salad from the salad bar and then get mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, fried chicken and fries. They have a taco bar, I like getting the cheese sauce and making cheese fries or nachos. Soft serve for dessert and maybe a brownie or something. I always leave feeling stuffed and satisfied

Update: It is even worse than before! Very little Protein... all starch. Salad bar cut way back... Desserts were disappointing.. carrot cake, cheese cake, chocolate cake. But NO MORE Bread Pudding, peach cobbler, or apple crisp. The only "meat" was fried chicken, baked chicken and fried fish. No hamburger patties, sausage, liver, spaghetti meat sauce, etc. Used to like this place (somewhat) for lunch or breakfast on weekends. In the last two years the food quality and selection has gone WAY DOWN. (*but I must say the staff was very nice and accommodating). Much smaller selection of salads, fruit, etc. (no potato salad or carrot salad, two of my old faves!!!) Not much meat, Lots of starchy, cheap things. Mashed potatoes, fries, cooked carrots, green beans, mac and cheese. Beverages (i.e. coffee, tea, coke, etc.) used to be included in the price... but NO MORE! For lunch, they wanted $3 extra for drinks! No thanks, I opted to just drink water., I was there at 12Noon to 1pm for a pal's 98th birthday (he likes buffets).... the place was fairly empty for being the height of lunch time. Now that a Panera Bread, Panda Express, Red Robin and Goldberg's Deli have opened at Factoria... who needs OCB? Cheap food, not a very good selection. If you are over 65 years old, you'll love it. Seems to appeal to OLD people!!

I decided to treat my husband and I and come here for Saturday night dinner. I am shocked at how much it has declined in recent years. When I was younger, I loved coming here. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was inviting. Now, I will never go back again. The quality of the food was atrocious. Sauces too watery, chicken still a little pink, fried items over fried and with little meat. And the hot fudge sundae cake. That was always my favorite when I went. Now it made me sick to my stomach. It tasted a bit like gingerbread instead of chocolate. Oh, and you have to pay extra to have a fountain drink. Otherwise, you get a colored cup delineating that you are having only water. And the atmosphere. I could see over the barrier right into another patrons dinner. Very public. And people not paying attention, bumping into others, making a mess. Children running wild, tripping people. I am appalled with my experience here, and will be going the extra distance to go to a different buffet restaurant when I am in the mood for buffet.

Not worth the $12 dinner price, low quality food, but if you want to try many things it may be ok for the lunch price. Turkey, wedge fries and coleslaw were the only decent items i found. Dessert was diverse but also low quality.

Not the best place in the world, but it's fast when I am on my lunch hour. I do have to sleep afterwords and put on my fatty pants when I'm done. The food is sub standard, but feels you up. I now know the hot spot to go now if I'm 65 and older. :)

Buffets will be buffets. I go there expecting okay food, unlimited eats, and a private booth in the corner somewhere with my husband :) Loved the tacos, burritos, and taco salad cup things. And unlimited green beans. Each time I came back, my plates were cleared off my table, so I know people were coming by. It's not the most spectacular food ever but it's decent and good for the price. Loved the condiment bar. Had sriracha ^_^ They have a good variety. Mexican, old style roasts and all kinds of veggies, salads, fruit, cupcakes, cookies, ice cream (tasted like mcd's), etc. I"ll be back someday. If I ever feel like buffets. This buffet is the most comfy. Love the seating. Even though there were screaming kids around, the decor made it feel like they weren't even there :)

In my hometown Bremerton, we don't have an American home cooking style buffet place. So we always had to make a trek elsewhere for this kind of food. I've been to two other OCB's in the area, and they were always really dirty and busy. This OCB is very clean, not super busy, and the people are very friendly. And it definitely hit the spot for my boyfriend and I. You have to go into this place knowing it's a cheap buffet. Everything we ate was pretty good. Two things that are my favorite here, are the dinner rolls (buttery and soft) and the molten chocolate fudge cake. However, I don't think it's as good as the same chocolate fudge cake I had at the Federal Way OCB, it's inconsistent. One word of warning, MAKE SURE YOU GET THE CORRECT COUPON DISCOUNT. I got jipped out of about $6 tonight by a man who took my coupon for a Buy 1 Get 1 Dinner. I got it from joining OCB's e-club online, and my bf used this sort of coupon twice before. The total comes out to around $14 normally. However, the guy who helped me gave me some $3 off coupon instead, and the total came out to $20. I tried to tell him he gave me the wrong discount and explained the previous price I had gotten for dinner, but he kept arguing with me and wasn't understanding what I was saying. I kept looking confused at him, and he thought I was in the wrong. I was holding up a long line of families, so I just gave up. I was pretty infuriated. So I docked a star for that. Just watch out guys. Calculate your coupon total before leaving the register if it's a male Kitchen Manager helping you. He was the one who got it wrong. The women who usually run the register are always much nicer and get my coupons correct.

A friend took my sister and I here during the holidays. The food was good and fresh. They had a good variety of food; however, I didn't care much for their clam chowder since it was very heavy and starchy. All of their desserts were overly sweet. The waitresses can be more attentive. A gentleman walked around giving free samples of Churro's, which were delightful, fresh and warm. I would only come back here if I was desperate to eat a shmorgishborg of food.

This OCB location gets an extra star for cleanliness. I have never loved this restaurant the food is always bland and sometimes cold. However its a cheap buffet so I never expect much. The salad bar is fresh and appealing so that's a plus. also the staff is friendly and consistently cleaning, restocking food and picking up plates and so on. I'll still stop in from time to time and enjoy the dessert and salad bar for sure. Also there's some new take out program I only saw a sign for so that's interesting.

I only go there for Sunday breakfast after my dog walk. Why do they start charging separately for drinks? I see many church going cloud on Sunday morning.

It's a cheap buffet....don't go in expecting great things and you'll be satisfied. I went twice. Once for dinner and once for breakfast. The dinner buffet was acceptable. The breakfast buffet was not that great (hard biscuits, flavorless sausage gravy, etc...). Expect cheap buffet food and enjoy.

The staff was SUPER-friendly. I've never before been to any buffet where they were actively nice like this. The food was fine; nothing was excellent and nothing was terrible. The best items I tried were the sirloin steak, shredded broccoli salad, and Italian sausage and bean soup.

OCB is a study in excess, quantity with only mediocre quality, cheap without being incredibly satisfying. This is a place to go when you're feeling really hungry but don't feel like bothering to change your clothes or to be seduced by gorgeous food at a place like Tulio, yelp.com/biz/Fd2P_10fj7K… which is more work intellectually. They have a huge salad bar, a hot food table with their admittedly excellent fried chicken (that's where I spend most of my OCB time... mmmmm fried chicken legs and steam-table carrots!), a carvery station, and then a table of sides and what I think of as kid stuff (mac'n'cheese, pizza, spaghetti, etc.) Everything is actually cooked there, but it is grandpa-safe on the blandness scale. It's actually pretty OK on the food allergy front because they don't add soy flour to things, though there are still nuts/peanuts in the dessert zone.

Old County Buffet is usually pretty much the same no matter where you go. However, my experience here is that it was VERY BUSY, NOISY and when did having a drink other than water COST EXTRA?! The whole point of a Buffet is that you pay one price and you can have anything you want, as much as you want. Will have to think twice about returning.

I swear everything in Factoria Mall is dying, including this place. Their menu is slowly going down every year while the price goes up. The food is simply BAD. I wouldnt come here even with the BOGO coupons.

It's pretty much all been said, except for one thing: they have an ICEE machine! For me, that alone is worth the price of admission. The last time I ended up there because Top Gun was closed. 3 ICEEs later my bad day went to good. Sure, OCB is what it is, but ICEEs make everything better!

I'll be up front. I feel a little dirty when I go to places like this because I see people sneezing and mixing up the utensils and touching food with their hands...but all you can drink chocolate milk...need I say more? The food quality is pretty low, but what can you expect from a buffet? Once you get past that and the CRAZY people going for food, it is a pretty nice place to be with friends...everyone can get what they want. I do NOT recommend this place for vegetarian people...seriously...don't go. The people were super nice about honoring a coupon for me as well. Buy one get one buffet...OK! It is what it is people, don't judge!

We were there Sunday and had 30 minutes before Nordstrom's Rack opened. I needed breakfast and not pastries and such from Seattle's Best Coffee. So, this was the only other place opened. Lunch was about $9 and there was a short line that moved quickly. The place was packed already and yes, plenty of kids. I wanted eggs and sausages. They had poached eggs, omelettes, scrambled eggs and some eggs with hash. No sausages but 1 carver for the ham. There were plenty of carb-y foods - waffles, pancakes, rice, potatoes...so if you're into that, you'll be in heaven. Other lunch foods included fried chicken, fruit, salads, french toast sticks.... After my eggs and ham, I did help myself to a waffle (they come in cute small sizes) and frozen yogurt from the machine. I can see why the kids love it. There were 2 soft serve machines, one for ice cream and one for yogurt, toppings and cones. I was drawn in by the $5.99 lunch price (but that's prob for weekdays) and as I mentioned, it was the only place opened. I think for $5.99, it would have been worth it only because I've had the Tulalip buffet for about the same price and the food and selection was 10x better. Of course, casinos can afford to splurge a bit on food to lure in gamblers. I gave it 2 stars because it is probably great for families and the staff was friendly.

Old Country Buffet gets 5 stars for selection and then loses them all for such low quality food. Darn, Yelp, why do I have to give any stars, it'll make people think I'm not very good at math. For some reason my daughter liked it the last time when they went to "try it out," and she chose to return here when the restaurant was her choice. The signs on the buffet indicated some interesting sounding salads (a broccoli and bacon offering was quite tempting), but alas, there were none of these to be found. The pizza was undercooked (how can you mess up pizza in a place like this) and the crab cakes could have been made with sawdust for all I could tell. It wasn't all bad - once the Coke syrup was replaced in the soda fountain, their Coke was pretty good. They have a pretty high syrup to water ratio so the Coke had a surprising bite. My cinnamon roll (which was served along side fried chicken and baked beans - for dinner no less) was pretty cinnamony and the icing mixed interestingly with my nacho cheese (you see I was stooping pretty low to find something to eat). And all the food here has got to be low calorie - it passes right through you. On the way home, my daughter was complaining that her stomach didn't feel well. I know that with in 12 hours of eating here, everyone in my family had spent considerable time in the facilities.

  • Eric J.

It was ok. I wasn't impressed for the price. The only thing I really liked was the fried chicken and that was about it.

I swear you won't want to eat for the rest of the day.

so, here we have a buffet. this buffet has a senior club. this buffet is in a mall. this buffet has kids impatient in booths using their butter knives to reenact the canterbury tales. you're obviously not going to get fucking oysters rockefeller. what you do get, however, isn't that horrible. i'm a salad bar person, and they do a beyond decent job. they had my favorite carrot and raisin salad. they also have a lot of jello, so there's fair novelty in that. the food itself is the kind you want to pile on a plate and mix together. i want a massive piece of roasted chicken sitting on top of my mashed potatoes that are blocking the peas from escaping into my spaghetti which is kind of absorbing my salad dressing -- but all of this is okay, because it's a buffet. if i want a taco and lo mein and garlic bread on my plate, it's going to happen. if i want a plate of macaroni and cheese and gelatin marshmallow salad, it's going to happen. the motive here is to extinguish all of your cravings at once. are they going to be the tastiest, best prepared samplings of your lifetime -- probably not; however, done correctly, you will leave sated and possibly never wanting to eat again. if you want it better, make it yourself. there is a safeway within literal walking distance -- but you won't because everyone wants buffet. when can i mix all that variety together in one meal at home? the milk comes out of a massive dispenser that makes you feel like you're in middle school in the 1970s. the dessert bar is basically a small portion of the willy wonka factory (rice crispy treats, cheesecakes, cookies, brownies, crumbles... endless), so keep in mind where the milk dispenser is. it's also fun to drink milk out of a straw again. i haven't done that in ages. again, the desserts aren't the greatest i've eaten. no one's grandmother made them from scratch from recipe cards, but they're not bad. anywhere where i can dual wield rice crispy treats and brownies is already a winner. you have to be at least slightly carnivorous and have a bit of a sense of humor in you to appreciate this place. a nap is usually the preferred activity afterward. leave your calorie count at the door. if you're over 60, you're probably already a hardcore buffet connoisseur and, therefore, i don't have to even continue.

Great way to burn off the calories from the binge and grab some clearence items from the nearby shops.
