Staying in Rutland for the night, we decided to be lazy, drink beers in the hotel room, order a pizza, and watch the game. A short Yelp later, and a Crust Above was obviously the best choice in the area. We went with the 911 pizza (a large, cuz the two of us are fatasses). Quick ordering over the phone, when we were told it would be an hour (!) til we got our yummy prize delivered. A short 1/2 hour later, our pie was delivered to much celebration, and a surprise delivery charge. Another short 15 minutes later, we had demolished 3/4 of the large 911. Great crust, generous toppings (love those jalapenos), and everything that we were hoping for. (Plus, the Red Sox had just won, so we were extra happy with that little topping on our pie). Overall, probably among the best pizzas we have had, albeit pricey. I guess it's true you get what you pay for!

We stopped in to A Crust Above after a long day of skiing because I like small little pizza-joints and the menu has several delicious sounding specialty pizzas. Unfortunately we were sadly disappointed with bad pizza and a lack of service. We ordered the Mediterranean with "broccoli, garlic, feta cheese, sesame seeds & sliced tomatoes topped with provolone cheese."Upon ordering I imagined a forest of broccoli with slices of fresh tomato strewn about. Nope. Each slice had about 3 little pieces of broccoli and 2 little pieces of diced tomato. Seriously, sliced and diced tomatoes are completely different. And feta cheese? There was absolutely NO feta on this pizza. When we ordered this we imagined it to be a white pizza; pizzas I've ordered previously (not from here) with similar ingredients have always been white; I'm referring primarily to feta with broccoli and garlic. But that's quite alright, I love a good red sauce. Unfortunately, the red sauce was way too overpowering for the minimal toppings it accompanied. Also, there was too much red sauce which made the crust wet and sloppy and the cheese kept sliding off. Or was the crust limp from being pre-made and frozen? So we basically ended up with an overpriced cheese pizza. There was no parmesan at the table or at the table which kept other dining necessities (red pepper flakes, garlic powder, napkins, flatware). So my boyfriend went to the counter, but the clerk was no where to be found. So he rang the bell, but still no staff. Still wanting parmesan for my less-than-fabulous pizza, I went up to the counter again and rang the bell and called back to the kitchen until the clerk came back. She politely gave me a shaker of parmesan and asked how the pizza was. I informed her it was not what we had in mind and really neither of us liked it. She apologized, but that was all she said. When we paid the bill she again apologized for us not being satisfied and offered to make us a free replacement pizza. We agreed and ordered one of their white pizzas to go. She then asked us what we did with the other pizza that we didn't like. I told her we were starving when we arrived after a long day skiing so we ate it. When I had spoken with her when I wanted the parmesan, no replacement food had been offered, or else I would have taken her up on that after eating only one piece. After about 10 minutes the owner / cook came out from the kitchen and said that since we had consumed the entire first pizza, she wasn't going to give us a free replacement pizza and that we'd have to pay for it. We declined and left. I just wasn't in the mood to spend another penny on mediocre pizza. And since Yelp! won't let me leave a zero-star review, here's a piece of positivity: I filled my water bottle in the bathroom sink (no staff was ever present to request a glass of water from) and it tasted like good old city water. Yum.

Toppings had no flavor, pizza was floppy, mozz and wings were obviously frozen for a while previously. Service was kind and delivery was prompt. Would not ever recommend

The chicken cordon blu pizza is the most disgusting thing I have ever tasted in my life. Whoever came up with that recipe is nuts!

Whenever I go up to VT for some snowboarding in Killington, I ALWAYS have to stop at A Cust Above. This little sit down place is cute. In the corner they have an area for kids with toys and movies. They have eclectic tables and chairs. I usually get the Popeye but today I was feeling adventurous and got the Sweet Marie. Holy Cow is that good! The personal pizza looks deceiving, its small I can eat it all and still be hungry. But it was just enough. I ended up only eating half and saving the other half for the next day. (It tastes REALLY good cold) I cant wait to go up to VT again so I can stop by again!

I'm not a pizza person. There's always too much or too little crust that's either too soggy or too crispy. Almost always too much sauce. And there's that really annoying fact that if you get a pizza with garlic anywhere in the description, that's all you'll taste. Overnight refrigeration is the KEY to edible pizza, with a mandatory eat-it-cold procedure. So, I was overjoyed-elated-thrilled to bite into a pie here and find that all my usual pizza fears were laid to rest. The crust was divine. Just the right amount. Same for the fabulous sauce. The pizza crust had a light brushing with olive oil just barely hinting at garlic. And the toppings! The husband went for the "Rhodes" -- pepperoni, sweet&hot sausage, provolone, and thinly sliced fresh tomato. Even after the car ride from Rutland to Saratoga Springs (NY) his crust was still holding together. That much meat on another pie and you'd have a soggy mess! Not that it mattered all that much, since his leftovers were gone before they'd even really had a chance to hit the fridge. I went for the "Tommys Tummy Teaser". Sliced black olives, tomatoes, roasted red peppers, eggplant (battered & fried parmigiana-style), portobello, and delicious melty cheese topped the thick & tangy red sauce. I was in heaven. A 10", 4-slice personal pie will set you back $9.50, but you get at least two meals out of it. WORTH IT. You can pay that much and more for a footlong at Subway and still be unsatisfied after the tail end of your sandwich. The "fountain drinks" are really just sodas poured out of a 2-liter (into a Mason jar!), a bit of a misnomer, and a little bit of a bummer, since I prefer the ridiculous effervescence you get from a true fountain soda machine. But, that's my only gripe. The exceptional service and awesome food are enough for 5 stars. The fact that there's a "fenced-in" play area for the tots is worth another 30, at least.

Bad pizza! They burnt it and offered to give it to us for free. We said that's okay we'll pay because we were being polite. needless to say she charged us $26 and another charge for using credit card. STAY FAR AWAY!!!!!!

It was ok, not the most fantastic, but not the worst. Food was the best part, we ended up getting a calzone and salad to split 2ways, the option to get a specialty pizza as a calzone is neat, and it was pretty good. We walked in to order, and was told 15-20 minutes, it took them 30 minutes or even a bit longer to finish it. For a calzone that's a little meh. Also, I agree the price is a bit much, but so is mostly everything in the area thanks to the tourist trade. Overall just ok, it's our first time to killington so I'd have to sample the rest of the local joints to see if I'd ever go back here.

ACA has great specialty pizzas, including gluten free. But personally, I would not recommend the gluten-free. It is very pricey and not that good. Gimme their margherita or Popeye any day.

Worst experience EVER !!!! Alright food for outragous prices. The resturant was very dirty and neglected . We waited for over a hour for our food in that time our waitress 'Rachael" completely ignored us never asking if we want anything else to drink or anything. I think the dish washer actually brought out our salads because she was on her phone. When she finally brought our pizza i swear there was a cloud of cigarette smoke following her . Nothing like a big wiff of cigarettes to loose your appetite. She never came back to check on us and or ask if we wanted any dessert. She just came to drop the bill and ask if i need her to make change for her tip. So the next time my family wants pizza we will be driving A Crust Above.

We are moving soon to Rutland and decided to plan a trip there with my husband's family. When searching for a good place to choose for lunch, I came upon Tassami S.'s review. It sounded like the perfect place for a family with picky eaters and a 3yr old to eat. And it was! Everyone loved the pizza (plain cheese for the picky ones, the potato one (forgot the name) for the adventurous ones) and my nephew loved playing in the play area as we waited for the pies. Pizza was delicious, though a bit pricey, and we loved the potato one, especially the sauce that came on the side. Lots of great sounding items on the menu.. we will be back!

A thicker crust pizza joint with a lot of options. THe 911 pizza was radical, spicy and so so tasty. Their regular pizza is great too, I'll be back ere, but I just prefer thinner crust so its not the ideal place for me. Beer is decent price, and they have local favorites on tap, ie switchback. Breadsticks were decent too, but the marinara was a bit bland, although it had a lot of pop on the pizza.
