It's a cute italian restaurant that doesnt have much around it. Our experience started out on a good foot with a warm welcome from a male host, however night quickly turned and could not redeem itself, unfortunately. Food- to start we ordered the bruschetta appetizer which was a little strange. It came with just 3 bread slices (all of them overly toasted to the point of being worried I would break a tooth...seriously....) which were hidden underneath a mound of chopped tomato and basil bits. While the tomato was nicely seasoned in oil and pepper, it was simply too much and I felt like I was eating a tomato salad, not bruschetta...lesson learned. The bread that is served to the table was cold, which says a lot. I was expecting warm bread rolls from a place claiming to serve authentic Italian , but no such luck. Hardened bread slices it was.....The chicken piccatta was good as an entree, however, and the butternut squash ravioli were yummy as well. I didn't get the best vibe from our waitress; I cant really put my finger on it...she was attentive and pleasant enough, but she didn't have much tact with filling in the conversation/connecting with us. Someone else dropped our check at the end of the night, which is just a no-no if you want to get a good tip (unless you are extremely busy with many other tables, which was far from our truth. I think there were 4 other people in the place when we left....) Overall an okay meal in a semi- cozy atmosphere with room for improvement all around. Candles on the table would add a lot here!

We have had both lunch and dinner at Toscano's and loved it. Very comfortable dining room and the food is great. Oh, the prices are reasonable also.

Absolutely incredible! We've been to this restaurant many times and have never been disappointed! The artichoke hearts with lemon aioli is delicious and highly recommend the mushroom ravioli with gorgonzola sauce! The staff is friendly, and always willing to help! Give it a try!

Wow! is there a new chef? Well last time I was there was a few years ago. Maybe it's the same chef with more experience and gusto! First of all, they were VERY nice to sit us and let us order before the official dinner hours. Most places would have said: sorry we are not opened until---pm, which would be understandable. So, kudos for the warm welcome. We had a small dinner with a soup and the quinoa and kale salad, which was unbelievably fresh and perfectly balanced: a cool salad with warm seared butternut squash cubes. We also had the special appetizer of the day. Unfortunately, I don't remember what it was, which is unlike me, but I know it was delicious and beautiful. We will be back ASAP.

Fantastic service, wonderful fresh and local food. My friend and I had never been here before but will definitely return. There were so many yummy dishes to choose from.

Great service great starters and good drink selections. My group loved the calamari and pasta dishes. Typically, I hate paying for italian food - because well, I just do - but this restaurant made me fall in love. Love the homey atmosphere, love the service, loved the drinks, and the prices were reasonable. Will go back whenever we want to get a great meal in the middle of nowhere! Truly, this is a very local-joint, but worth the trek out of Burlington!

My husband and I had a wonderful dinner on our first visit to Toscano Sunday night. Chef Jon is very talented and creates wonderful flavors in all of the dishes we ordered. The meals come with delicious homemade bread and a garden salad. We had a mussels appetizer special with garlic pesto cream sauce. My husband had the Seafood Putanesca and I had the Shrimp & Salmon Carbonara. Top it all off with a delicious glass of Italian wine (Montepulciano), awesome! This dining experience really reminded us of our visit to Italy. Chef Jon came out to see how we enjoyed our meals, very nice touch. We look forward to returning to Toscano to try more of his menu.

The first time we ate here it was a pretty positive experience. All good. Not great..... but good food. However our second visit was a big disappointment. We were warmly greeted by owner? When we arrived. And after being seated we ordered the cold gazpacho soup. It tasted like It was made with a canned tomato sauce not fresh. So although the fresh veggies were noticeable the canned base of the soup overpowered. My husband ordered the veal saltimbocca, the dish was served luke-warm and way too salty; completely inedible. My dish of pasta bolonegese arrived hardly warm. The Caesar salad was heaped with a mayonnaise dressing and the greens were old. When we told the server of the problem with the veal ( the only issue we mentioned) we got a sorry and " we took it off your check". The owner? Did not stop by the table to ask how he could make our experience better. No follow up. Sadly we will not return. We would have given it another try had the management made an attempt to make our experience better.

Kid friendly. Tables are covered in paper over the table cloth so the kids can draw on it after they finish their games on the kid menu. My kids love the calamari. Potato soup is lovely. Salmon & pork chop are always good choices. Good size portions. Good cocktails and good food. Good location in the center of Richmond village with out door seating. Solid all the way around.

Very good meal. Artichoke and calamari apps were excellent. Meals were tasty and plentiful. Great spot tucked away in Richmond. Only negative is that it's a bit pricey

Lunch with a friend was absolutely perfect. Caesar salad was right on, as were the entree's. Just great! The owner has a well-trained staff to trust his place to them when he's not around. Quality food that seems priced appropriately. However, last summer I had a T&T and when we got the check, discovered it was $11.50. OUCH!

I really enjoyed this cute, local place; I was expecting a typical Italian menu but they also had many interesting options. I had a tasty curry veggie soup and roasted pork sandwich. Service was very pleasant; would love to return soon!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
