On a recent trip to the booming metropolis of Bradford to visit the Copeland Furniture factory we were treated to two excellent meals at Colatina. There were close to 40 people in our group both times. They handled the crowd masterfully. The timing was excellent. The food even better. Kudos to the entire staff . You couldn't have done it better. Thank you to everyone.

Used to go here 30 years ago regularly. It was always good back then. Delicious salads, pizzas and Italian meals. 30 years later, the pizza tastes exactly the same. The restaurant is bigger. So glad to see recipes carried on for years and years!

Dinner two nights in a row. Drawn to this restaurant because only place open after 9:00. Not many restaurants in this part of Vermont. Turned out to be delightful experience. Service was very good, checked with me regularly. Always looking for good pizza and sausage mushroom was tasty and well built. Expected ordinary Caesar salad, most restaurants this seems to be a must for menu and not always well thought out. It was really good. Nice red zin on wine list went well with pizza and salad. Per prior review, bread was outstanding.

Wonderful restaurant on the main drag of Bradford. We had Brunch there several weeks ago. You know the story of me and good bread, we are so spoiled in Chittenden County with all the great bread, this restaurant had very good bread. My tenderloin and egg dish was excellent ,meat done according to my taste medium rare and perfect poached eggs...you know how poached eggs sometimes still have the moisture from the cooking medium, these must have been first put on paper towels before being served. My husband is a Calzone nut, and he pronounced his dish very good. The server was attentive he seated us next to the window overlooking the country club. By the way the price was most reasonable. If we are that way again we will certainly go there.

My family & I were visiting the area for a wedding & were looking for a place to eat & happened to stumble upon the take-out portion of this restaurant. One side of the restaurant is sit down & the other is order anything to go. We ordered a pizza & breadsticks & waited about 20 mins... Totally worth the wait. The pizza was amazing. They have lots of specialty & unique pizzas to pick from & of course the normal choices too along with other food options. The prices were a little high but there aren't many restaurants to pick from in this area & I would totally go there again.

My husband and I stay in the middle-of-nowhere New Hampshire, and Bradford is one of the last towns we pass through before hitting the boondocks, so it is usually our go-to place to grab a bite to eat. I had intended on going to the Perfect Pear again (it's been over a year and they have since closed), and the Millwaters wasn't yet open, so we decided to give Colatina a try despite it's 3.5 star Yelp rating. We are in our early thirties, well traveled and spoiled by good food experiences. These days we come equipped with a pretty adorable infant-so I'm always looking for places where she'll be welcomed. I will say things got off to an inauscpicious start when our waitress came over. We had a few minutes with the menu, but were rushed to make a decision on our mains. There were quite a few good looking items and I was having a hard time deciding. The waitress curtly explained "I'm just here for your drink order." It was a relief, but something about her tone just put me off (maybe it's the post-baby hormones, or maybe I'm just :::sniff::: sensitive). Hubs and I ordered a beer each, and we were both pretty impressed with the local offerings on tap. The baby was asleep, but she too would've been impressed, I'm sure. We ended up ordering two pizzas and a seasonal salad. I explained to our waitress that we were vegetarian, but I really liked the 'Vermonter' (red sauce, spinach, carmelized onions, vermont cheddar and apples with a maple balsamic glaze) and the BBQ Chicken pizza (subbing eggplant for chicken). She didn't make me feel at all a pain for asking to vegetarianize things and she was super pleasant. She brought over delicious bread and a roasted garlic oil for dipping (really awesome). My salad had a homemade creamy dill dressing (I'm a sucker for condiments) that was really, truly fantastic. The veggies within were fresh and crisp too. no complaints! We ordered another round of beers (baby? still asleep) and got our pizzas. Unfortunately the BBQ pizza was prepared with chicken. The waitress apologized and swept it away to be re-made. A moment later the hostess came to our table to also apologize. She also took our salad off the bill (a lovely gesture, but not necessary). We tucked into the Vermonter Pizza and it was AWESOME. Seriously delicious flavors which worked so well together (carnivores take note, the original version included locally sourced bacon!). By the time we'd each had two slices of that pizza, the BBQ returned and was also met with our rave reviews. By this time, the baby had awoke and she got some bread and pizza which she also seemed to enjoy. The ambiance is warm and homey, with many of the tables boasting a traditional melty candle atop an ol Chianti bottle. We were seating in a back nook, near the kitchen and wood fired oven and we felt very cozy and happy. My husband and I have been coming to the area for years and couldn't believe we missed this little gem. We'll be back and I hope Colatina gets some good reviews. To all those unsure of going-take a chance...You might be as surprised as I was!

The table side magician was the best part. It took 45 minutes to get our food and my plate had definitely been sitting in the window for awhile. 25 minutes after we ordered our appetizers we were told they were out of stuffed mushrooms. 10 minutes later the spinach asparagus dip arrived. Kind of bland but it did look like it was made on site. Fettuccine Alfredo rather bland. My son did like his Chicken Masala but my other one didn't like his steak and cheese sandwich. Bun was cold and should have been toasted. Steak and cheese mixture probably microwaved.

According to Yelp, 2 stars translates to "Meh. I've experienced better.". No truer words. Yes, the Coli, as the locals would call it, has been a round a long time and is a Bradford staple. But with little competition, where else would the locals go? The previous evening, we dined at the Millwaters, previously called the Perfect Pear. The food at the Colatina is ok, as long as you temper your expectations. It was decent enough. Our party of 5 ordered various salads, an everything pizza, lasagna and their signature shrimp and steak diavolo. the service? What can I say? It was friendly enough, but very painful. To begin with, our waiter tried to encourage us to order wine with our meal. We wanted water, but I guess that did not satisfy him as he offered the wine a second time. We sat at an oblong table and he chose to stand at the far end to take are our orders. So we had to yell over the noise and music so he could hear us. The bread for the table took a long time to arrive and only one small basket and one small dish of dipping oil for the long table of five. Ok, it won't kill us to pass it around. The food slowly arrived, then it got slower and slower. Two of us were not served when the other three got their salads and pizza. The waiter was MOST apologetic about the delay and admitted that he caused the mix up and delay. He offered to bring us some garlic bread while we waited some more for our food. THAT took a long time. After everyone else finished their meal, our last two orders arrive and not even together. To add insult to injury, our waiter came to asked if we wanted ground pepper and cheese for our meal, after we were half way thru. Sigh, the check came quickly, but he disappeared again. Actually he did not disappear and I saw him and many other waiters hanging out together, having a great time. I had to walk the check and credit card over to him. No, we will not be back.

This restaurant has a great selection of food and beer. Everything has been excellent. The wings are a lot like Carmines, I highly recommend them. You won't go wrong here.

Great food, fine decor, excellent and attentive service. Dining on a high plane for couples night out or for a group. This is an excellent restaurant with the added bonus of using locally sourced food and having just won an environmental award.

Late lunch at Colatina's on a Saturday afternoon was very disappointing. Lunch salads and shrimp and pasta special were OK ... steak and cheese calzone was poor. Service was unsatisfactory. Server was cheerful and enthusiastic, but extremely slow to deliver drink order, salad course, main course, drink refills, coffee, and even the bill. Without complaint or prompting on our parts, the hostess apologized for the delays and comped our coffee--a smart move. Overall, very poor service detracted from an otherwise average dining experience ... we'll likely not return.

I have been going there for over 20 years off and on. I really enjoy Italian food and mixed experiences have made my visits less frequent. We were seated immediately in the familiar dining area by a very very pleasant young woman and were looking forward to a nice meal. The waiter, a 20 something kid who was confused from the get go comes to the table. Asked if we wanted drinks but we opted for water. He brought over a carafe of water...good. The orders were slow to come but that is pretty typical here so I wasn't sweating it. I had started with a Caesar salad. I should say a plate with lettuce and croutons. The salad was under dressed and there was not the slightest hint of anchovy. OK, i'm in this little place that maybe the chef had little idea what a real Caesar was...When the salad plates were cleared I ordered a Black and Tan. The entrees were served and that was the last we heard from the waiter. Ran out of water. bread, black and tan, no cheese for the pasta dishes, no checking if it was ok..nothing. It wasn't like I could have even made eye contact with this guy, he was AWOL. The food is always a tick above good and a bit below excellent. The portions are on the small side even for PASTA. It will be a while before we return, the waiter should go back to West Lebanon and work at Chilis or Applebee's or wherever he was.

We stopped here after our trip to Mr. Washington. Great service and delicious food, also nice atmosphere. I had salmon with pasta and my wife had Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo. Great choices. They started us out with a Mushroom and Clam soup that was truly amazing.

My favorite pizza place ever. Always stop in with friends when I visit home. Great memories, amazing pizza, huge portions, decent price for food/drinks. Cozy and authentic feeling. Nothing cookie cutter about this place, it's unique in it's own little way.

The Colatina Exit is one of the better restaurants in the area. It has been around now for at least 15 years. Located right in the heart of downtown Bradford, on old US route 5. (Main Street). It is small, quaint, and very Vermont. Great pizza and traditional Italian fare are offered on the menu. Often, they have either live music or karaoke. which is a fun way to spend a cold and lonely evening in rural Vermont.

Came to this place to go to the bar, but came in through the downstairs, looks like a pretty nice restaurant. Everything smelled good. Onto the bar... Great prices. In this area you wouldnt expect expensive drinks. Not the case down the street. At Colatina, the prices were much more reasonable. Bartender was a little hit or miss, but luckily we got some help from a local. Great selection of beers, nice crowd and the prices were right. Next time I am in the area, this will be the place to go.

A neat little place in Bradford VT. Bradford is a very small town, and this is one of maybe three restaurants in their 'downtown.' it's really quite good Italian food, better than you'd expect for such a rural setting. We were there for a private party and we ordered quite a few things off of their menu that turned out to be excellent. Nothing super-fancy, but done really well. Their eggplant parm and pasta was cooked perfectly and was delicious, as was their spaghetti and meatballs, as was their chicken piccata. Really rich and tasty stuff. Meh: the pizza was perfectly decent, but nothing too special. We'd ordered one cheeseless one that was more burnt than anything. The bruschetta tasted fantastic, but was a little too soggy. And they had an alfredo pasta dish that just tasted like dairy and not much else. Kinda heavy. The bar itself was really nice. Lots of old, dark wood and tables with backgammon and chessboards set in the finish. There was plenty of Vermont microbrew available, which was nice. And the service was excellent. There was a minor holdup with the credit card reader, but that was a technical problem and you can't really hold that against them, y'know? So a good time was had by all. If you ever end up in the Bradford Vermont area and you need to go out for a bite, there's plenty of solid food to be had here.

the Colatina is a wonderfully warm and inviting italian restaurant. it is always jam packed full and worth a wait. the aromas that assail you when you open the door are enough to cause you to need a bib. their pizza is fantastic as are their other menu items. (truth be told however is that i only have had one other thing besides pizza, it is simply too good to not get it.) the service is always friendly and efficient. they also have a take-out side if you just want to go home with said yummy pies. (watch out tho, they have a dessert case that will tempt you into spending even more money while you are waiting to pay for your pizza.) i think the food is great but i have to say that the prices were a little surprising. i am used to paying around $12 (plus toppings) for a large pizza and it cost me almost $50 for 2 pies and 2 desserts last time i went. oh well. it was good and it is just money, right?

My family and I stopped here on our way back from vacation. We had high hopes because we'd asked a local for a recommendation and this was her 2nd choice (The Perfect Pear was her first, but they were closed). Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience at all. First, there was no kids menu available and our server gave us a very vague idea of what might be available for kids. Although the restaurant was almost empty when we got there, and we ordered sandwiches and a plate of plain spaghetti the wait was incredibly long. My husband's panini was not at all what he ordered. My sandwich was missing the horseradish mayo and the roast beef tasted old. The mashed potatoes my son ordered (one of the few things our waitress mentioned that was on the kid's menu) were very garlicky and strong tasting, not kid friendly. My other son ordered spaghetti with butter but there was no butter on it, just oil and salt. We were never asked if we needed more drinks and although there were kid's books available they weren't pointed out to us, despite the long wait (we found them on our own). To top it off, the bathrooms were hard to find. And it was not cheap. A bad lunch should not cost that much money.

I am no phantom gourmet, and perhaps a bit of a "homer". That disclaimer posted, I appreciate the streetside trattoria aspect of this restaurant. The mood and fare are as close as anyone will find in the North Country in terms of traditional Italian appetites. They serve a wide variety of pizzas, pasta dishes, and salads. Every large sized entree comes with a generous (enough) side salad. But, you'll only get the salad if you opt for the large portion, rather than the small (they offer two sizes on almost all entrees). The atmosphere is clearly something into which the staff puts energy in terms of decoration. Everyone there is courteous, but not tremendously forthcoming with details about specials, what they recommend, or whether you get a salad with that. My companion enjoyed her seafood alfredo very much, and my meatballs pasta was no frills: a juicy sauce and sparsely seasoned, meatballs combining three meats on the well- done side. Apart from the fact that the above sauce was served over spaghetti, I found the dish more typical to Italian cuisine than to American spinoffs. With at least two sub or pizza businesses within a stone's throw of them, the Colatina attempts to set itself apart. Before they try to bring classic cuisine to life, they must try to strive for excellence and thoroughness in their preparation and delivery.

We have been coming to Colatina Exit in Bradford, VT ever since I was a child. We went most recently on a Sunday night as a family to celebrate my sister's birthday. Sunday nights at Colatina feature Marko The Magician performing table-side magic. It was definitely a highlight of the meal to have him come over and perform . We sat upstairs and had a great view out over the golf course with the mountains in the background. The quality of the food here depends on what you order. My sister and I shared a large Buffalo Stampede pizza. She said the chicken and blue cheese appeared as if it had all been food-processed together and then spread over the dough. Not very appetizing to look at. It could have had more blue cheese flavor (maybe blue cheese dressing drizzled over the top) and needed some hot sauce to really make it a Buffalo chicken style pizza. The overall taste was just okay. The shrimp and scallop carbonara was very good, with lots of bacon and a creamy sauce. The portion was large enough to take home for lunch the next day. We would order it again. Compared to the portion of the shrimp and scallop carbonara, the chicken and broccoli alfredo pasta was the opposite: the general consensus was that it could have used more chicken, more broccoli, and more noodles. Overall we had a good experience at Colatina Exit and we will continue to make trips to Bradford to go there in the future.

Great pizza and good Italian dishes like eggplant Parmesan and lasagna. I wouldn't order anything fancy here--stick to the basics. Portions are large. They have a decent selection of beer. Friendly service.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
