We generally order delivery here from work, which is right around the corner. Order for 2 lunch specials was placed at 11:30. I called at 12:30 and was told the order was out for delivery. I called back at 1 and was told a 2nd time that the order was out for delivery. I cancelled our order and went to wawa.

Suggested by staff at nearby hotel. I travel all over the USA on business and this place ranks pretty high up on my list. Had food delivered, came on time and good!

Surprisingly good, but a little too greasy! I was definitely under the impression that I would be receiving stewed cat parts that evening, and sure enough, it was solid white chicken. I ordered the sesame chicken and really enjoyed it. The eggrolls on the other hand, were not great. But I'm an eggroll junkie so my standards are pretty darn high. If I'm in town on business again and need a quick meal, I might go there again.

One of the scariest things ever (to me) is trying out a new Chinese food place. That's why I've been going to the same place since I moved into my apt, however one day the craving for noodles hit me while I was at work and I had to come up with a plan. I tried out New City - shrimp lo-mein and it was awesome (whew!) Huge shrimp, the noodles were seasoned/cooked perfectly - it had all the good stuff in it, onions, mushrooms, water chestnuts - delicious! I called my order in and it was ready for pick-up in less than 10 minutes (during the busy lunch hour) AND the prices are pretty great there as well. I'm happy to say that I have definitely found some great Chinese food with New City.

Mediocre. This place is just "ok" to me, didn't tickle my fantasy or anything. With the numerous chinese places in the Hampton Roads area, I can say that I will not be visiting this one again.

I've ate here twice now. The first time the General Tso's chicken I ordered was dry and crunchy with hardly any sauce. My husband had the lo mein and was also dissatisfied. I gave them a second chance tonight. I even asked for more sauce on the General Tso's chicken but even with a ton of sauce the chicken was dry and crunchy. We also tried the steamed pork wontons, or dumplings. They had a bad smell on the first bite and just didn't taste good. I won't be giving them a third chance!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
