Came for endless shrimp. Expect delays! Service was ok, food is ok. Not the best, but I never expect that from Red Lobster. We don't come here often, but we like the endless shrimp!

Since Red Lobster is all over the place, the main thing that set them apart is the services. This location seems clean enough and the space feels a little tight compare to other Red Lobster locations. I suppose there are rooms to host private party in this location. The meals were prepared just like other locations in state and there were nothing particular to set them apart. The service did fall a little short compared to the Salt Lake locations, mainly due to our server was lacking a bit of emotion, and it was hard to communicate with her. Overall, this is an average to decent location for seafood dining in the Layton area.

Lobster tail I had was cooked to perfection!! Steak was a tad dry, but service was great. I would've given a 3.5 stars if I could...

I eat at this Red Lobster a couple times a year. Every time its been a very good experience. The fish, crab, scallops and sides are great, I never had anything taste bad. We went on mothers day, was seated in less than ten minutes, the waitress induced herself minutes later, biscuits and drinks shortly followed. The manager stopped by to ask how everything was, very nice and attentive. I would recommended this restaurant to anyone who wants a good seafood meal. A shout-out to our awesome waitress Jess, she is very nice, did a great job keeping us happy.

The biscuits/bread is the best I ever eaten. The other reason why this place is a MUST it is because of Tawni. She is the best server. It is usually crowed during the weekend but the service (tawni) is great.

We had a great waitress Elizabeth. Most the food was incredible. The only negative was my client ordered a steak and lobster. The lobster was really small and the steak was way over cooked. They recooked a steak but it came out med-well instead of med- rare as ordered. The waitress was so awesome that this negative was out-weighed by her great attitude and customer service. We will definitely go back because of this waitress.

We ended up at this Red Lobster because of the weather. We were at Lagoon Amusement Park and a huge thunderstorm rolled in so we decided to leave for dinner during the rain. My daughter had seen the Red Lobster as we were driving in from Logan so we drove over. I'm not a huge fan of chain restaurants but again, we found ourselves here so let's make the best of it. Our server introduced herself as Aubrey; she was very friendly and made great conversation with us. She let us take our time with the menu and got us our drinks. I wasn't quite sure how to put together what I wanted (blackened tilapia) and she suggested adding bleu cheese to it which really made the dish delicious! My son's steak was ordered medium rare and was cooked perfectly. We gobbled up two baskets of biscuits (which really ARE yummy!) My daughter enjoyed her snow crab dinner and my husband enjoyed his shrimp combo as well. Aubrey was great and we really appreciated her excellent customer service. As we were eating, she continued giving us weather updates and as we were finishing up, she let us know the sun was back out. She sent us off for round 2 at Lagoon with full bellies and smiles on our faces.

I came here with my family rather late. It took us about 20 mins to get a seat despite that there were clearly open tables. I ordered their 4 course meal, which I was pretty excited about. I got a "fresh salad" which was anything but fresh. It was very clearly iceberg lettuce and super bland. I also got a clam soup, which was ok. My food was all just "ok" for 15.99. Overall the food was cooked very poorly, the broccoli was dry and had black dots on it. My whole group was very very dissatisfied and agreed with my thoughts. I can't in good conscious recommend this to a foodie, or even a human with a tongue. Harsh words but true. Maybe it was due to being in a landlocked area Layton. But the lettuce just turned me off so much. Iceberg lettuce. Seriously??

Very clean, staff was polite, our server did a decent job. Drinks were average. The food was excellent!! It was a little pricey, but all seafood is. I will go back

This particular Red Lobster was very, v-e-r-y, slow. Not sure why, the restaurant wasn't crowded, and yet the hostess struggled seating people efficiently. We waited about 20 mins on a weekday... ... ... When seated, our server took our orders right away, but offered us items that weren't options. After waiting about 15 minutes, she came back and told us that we needed to reorder. Why did this realisation take so long? We ended up waiting about another 15-20 minutes for our food to finally arrive. It felt longer though. Dining was okay. We weren't attended to much. Our server didn't return to pickup the extra plates that started to clutter our tables, and she never refilled our drinks - maybe once - during the whole time eating. Food was decent not fantastic. Portions were pretty pathetic. Good point = place was clean at least.

I am not a big seafood fan so I tend to make it to Red Lobster once every 10 years or so. We went recently to celebrate the wife's birthday and the visit justified why once every 10 years is plenty. When we got to the restaurant i noticed it was looking worse for wear, it looks like they have not rehab-ed the place since I was there last. They walked us around to a room near the back which seemed like a good deal, someplace away from the crowds and noise...well not so much. Unfortunately they sat us next to an employee eating at the Lobster on his day off. Even worse, he was a very popular guy and every employee had to come visit him and stay and talk at full volume for way too long, we never got a break from the stream of annoying employees during the entire visit. Service for us was less than stellar, we got an occasional visit from our waitress as she made her way to the neighboring table to chat up her buddy. Food made its way out and it was OK, which for the price we paid is not a good thing. I had limited options as a person that does not like seafood. I ended up with a chicken dish that fill the void but I could have found better elsewhere with little effort. The wife got a seafood platter with two shrimp dishes and and a lobster dish. She said there was too much garlic for her liking and the lobster appeared to be the runt of the litter. I will see you in another 10 years, longer if I am lucky.

My daughter and grandkids took me to the Layton Red Lobster for my Birthday. Our overall disappointment sure put a damper on the evening!! Let's see... Reasons I SHOULD LOVE the Layton Red Lobster: I LOVE SEAFOOD. I live less than 2 miles away. The only other "Seafood Restaurant" nearby WAS McGrath's (now out of business). Reasons I SHOULD HATE the Layton Red Lobster: Poor Service -- Took forever to be seated (5 of us) in an otherwise empty restaurant at about 5pm on a weekday. Leading to... Poor Service -- Finally seated in a rear, bathroom-sized area (3 other tables in there with ours) away from EVERYTHING and EVERYONE which ensured very little interaction with wait staff. We couldn't even purposely get their attention by flagging anyone down because they were so far away and disconnected. They certainly didn't attempt interaction. Leading to... Poor Service -- If you opt for All-You-Can-Eat Shrimp (or ANY other potential AYCE item for that matter), hope that one measly skewer or tart bowl full will fill you up. Wait staff is non-existent when it comes to your requesting refills of ANYTHING, food or drink. Leading to... Cost doesn't reflect the quality (or quantity) of the dishes served. You can pay a whole lot less at a simple American-Fare restaurant nearby for delicious seafood dishes and quality service alongside. I sure wish the experience had been good. I still love fresh seafood but it was just bad enough that there is no way I'll waste my money on an encore performance.

It's all about the cheddar biscuits and the all you can eat shrimp deal that prompted us to come here. I have a thing for fried shrimp and not the coconut kind. This is a step up from what you can get at the Sizzler with their "all you can eat shrimp"... This location is deceiving in size. It is ginormous. Again, some things are hit an miss food wise and it is a chain, but Layton is full of chain restaurants, just about everything I can think of except for Cheesecake Factory or Panera. Service here is always friendly and for a go-to know what we like (mostly the biscuits) we have eaten here on at least two of the 3 trips we have made to the area. Another PSA for folks eating in restaurants in Utah or Arizona or many many other states-tip your servers generously IF you receive good service. Food servers make a pittance in actual wages (something like $2.40-$4.00 per hour) so they really depend on their tips and should work for them. 3 stars really for the fact it is a chain and the fourth is because we have had great servers here.

The worst general manager I have ever had the disenjoyment of encountering. Im suprised this can happen in such a large chain. The only expaination is a horrible or corupt area manager. Thank godness for a good serving staff.

I wish I could remember what we all had because is was all really good except my coconut shrimp it seemed like it was the frozen kind and the sauce was too much. The tortilla soup was great, nice and hot and not too spicy. My friends crab and shrimp was done just right. My other friends dinner she said was really good also. There was just one glich. It took them 10 min. to seat us and I don't know why because there were open tables we could see. The wait staff was pretty good too, and they have almost finished the remodel. Sorry my review is not more helpful with more detail.

We took our family to this location tonight for an early Valentine dinner and it was a nightmare. An expensive nightmare that will ensure we never go there again. There were five of us and we started out with apps and drinks, which were good enough, but when our entrees came, they served four of us while one of our daughters had to wait over five minutes for hers. We noticed right away that the server did not bring my husband what he ordered, Salmon New Orleans, but instead served him plain salmon. Twice my husband told the waiter it was not correct, and twice the waiter rudely insisted it was. We are not the type of people that complain, so my husband decided not to push the issue. The vegetables were so salty they were inedible and the waiter dropped the to go box, full of food, on the floor and then asked if we would like another. I still find it amazing that he asked at all. It was a full order of shrimp pasta, untouched, and he stood there holding the box out in front of us, with pasta hanging out every side, and asked if we wanted a new order. Um. Yes, please..we weren't the ones who dropped it. Honestly, we worked hard to look past the nickel-sized red and purple sores on his palm, and we could forgive the mistake of dropping the food on the floor.. But when we ordered a piece of chocolate cake to go, and discovered a long, curly, white hair on the cake itself... We were done. We quietly called the waiter over to the table and told him about the hair and asked him to take the dessert off of our check. He asked if we wanted another one. Gross. No. I instantly imagined him walking the container to the kitchen, removing the hair, and bringing it back. No, by then I just wanted to be as far away as possible. The manager.. I assume she was the manager... Stopped us on our way out and said she heard there were problems with our meal. Then she said, "Sorry about the hair. We didn't charge you for it." Wow. I'm sorry too. I'm sorry that we spent more than $150 in your establishment, and we still tipped well, for a horrific experience that was the opposite of the nice evening we wanted to treat our family to. We will not be returning.

Always a fan of Red Lobster for seafood. Of course, in a land locked state, this is about as best as it can be. Service here is good. I remember the calimari appetizer as better in the past than lately, they seem to be putting more brocoli and peppers, and less 'kalimari'. Shrimp platters are good. The shrimp pasta(sorry forgot the menu name) was a little heavy on the butter. Rolls are always good. Can't ask for much better in Utah for the price.

Food okay, definitely not my favorite Red Lobster. Baked Potato was overlooked and had a full tray of drinks dumped on me. Was shocked that the manager did not offer free drink or appetizer. Not planning on going back to this location anytime soon. Will stick with McGrath's for franchise seafood in Layton.

I can see why this place gets low ratings. Shrimp scampi and mango jalapeño shrimp were bland or unimpressive in flavor. The deep fried shrimp was good. The Parmesan encrusted tilapia was delicious as were the mashed potatoes, definitely an order again item. Biscuits were decent and they give you a generous amount. The 30 and 45 shrimp platters have super tiny shrimp, tasted like bagged freezer shrimp, and are barely enough for 2 people so keep that in mind. Honestly, I love seafood and this place made me want to not eat it again for a long time. But our server Cindi was absolutely amazing (give her a raise!).

Wonderful meal, they've added the crab bake to the regular menu! I'm in heaven! Trent was our waiter and did an excellent job taking care of us on this trip.

I love Red Lobster...so much it made me sick. For real...this Red Lobster made me sick. Sometimes this Red Lobster is easy to miss...it is right next to the freeway and is somewhat tucked away. We went here for my birthday last year because I love Red Lobster. They had just introduced their "Wood-Fire Grilled" items. I ordered my regular shrimp but with a steak as well. I was not completely sold on ordering steak from Red Lobster but I went ahead and did it anyways. The service was awesome but my steak had real issues. I ordered it medium and it ended up coming out pretty darn rare. I nicely asked if she could have it cooked a little more which our waitress was more than happy to do. When my steak came back a second time it was still almost as rare but just cooked more on the outside. I decided I might as well just eat it and enjoy my dinner. I had to call in sick the next day to work. True story. I have gone back here since...I just would never order the steak again...I guess that is what I get for ordering steak from a seafood place. I still love those biscuits. :0)
