Great food and service are what characterize this place. The portions are pretty decent for the price, and the quality is great. I would recommend this to anyone looking for some good Greek food.

Pretty good Greek food. I really liked the rice and pita. The souvlaki was just ok (pork and chicken), but the gyro looked good. I'll try that it I go back.

Dasks is my lunch time go-to if I'm craving Greek. It's conveniently located within walking distance of the Cottonwood Corporate center. If you're expectations are not too high, they don't disappoint. They offer simple Greek fare that is tasty and fresh. Some of my favorites include their falafel and gyro with white sauce, but for salads I prefer Greek City Grill - just a short (and beautiful) drive down Big Cottonwood Road. I feel that the prices are a bit high for what you get, but what you pay for is the convenience of their location. I usually call in my order and pick it up. If you order in-store it can be a long wait if they're busy. Order delivery only at your own risk. I've had coworkers waiting upwards of an hour for their food.

For the basics of Greek food, this place gets it. This place is in the little strip mall area behind Zion's Bank on 3300 East. The place is a counter that you order at plus seating. They deliver your ordered food to your table and remove it when you're done. I had a lamb gyro in a combo. The salad dressing wasn't the most flavorful, but the gyro was great. Very soft and well seasoned lamb with juicy tomato, and onion on a soft pita. A great place for lunch!

This is a my neighborhood go-to joint for Greek takeout. They are quick and efficient at getting your meal ready. Sometimes they even have a sweet Groupon deal, which is how I first decided to give this place a try. I like the falafel gyro, lamb gyro, mixed souvlaki kabobs plate, spanakopita, hummus, dolmathes, and fried zucchini sticks. Any of the plates come with a choice of 2 sides. I always get the Greek salad and then it's a toss up between fries or lemon rice. They make a decent Dask's burger too. This place isn't the most stellar Greek place that I have visited. Sometimes the falafel can be crumbly and the souvlaki may be a bit dry. However, they are closest Greek place to my house and they are fast and affordable. The spanakopita is probably what they do best.

Awesome legit Greek food. Simple atmosphere with excellent service! A great go to fix for quick and yummy Greek food.

Love the place but can't stand the guy who works at the front on the weekends. We have ordered take out a few times over the past couple months and every time my wife has called he has put her on hold for at least 5 minutes. When I get there to get my food he is always on his phone and has never been friendly. Food is great but customer service comes first and this guy has no clue what the definition is. Went there today and same guy Was there when I walked in on his phone and not friendly what so ever. There are plenty of other Greek places in the valley with warm greeters, good service and great food. We will be going elsewhere.

Love this place for a quick, healthy lunch. I usually get a felafel pita sandwich with feta cheese and cucumbers. Their lemon rice and baklava complete the meal.

My experiences at Dasks have been disappointing. The gyros are OK, but nothing like the beauties at Greek Souvlaki. The falafel is edible, but laughable when compared to the best of the best at O'Falafel. The greek salad is satisfactory, but can't compete with those found at Crown Burger or The Other Place. The fries are crisp, but under-seasoned. And you have to pay for fry sauce, which is a major pet peeve of mine. in fact, there are no condiments set out at all, except some salt and pepper packets. No hot sauce, ketchup, or Sambal. There are no napkin holders either, so you have to ask for extra. Pretty lame.

We ate at Dasks today for lunch and it was not good. The yerro meat was dry, the red sauce was bitter and did not taste good. Their lemon rice was bland and practically flavorless. I was disappointed. The restaurant itself seemed poorly maintained, dirty, and the bathroom was gross. I don't be going back.

Not as good as I remember, but then again the last time I was at Dasks I was a teenager and it was in the basement of the crossroads mall.... I found out that Dasks was still in business on the east bench and I had to go. The Gyro's was still good (not like I remembered), but still yummy. The dolmathes were wonderful and could be the best in the state & the pita bread was okay. I'm not sure I will make a special trip from Davis county, but when I want Greek and I'm in the area I will stop by!

Dasks has always impressed us. They consistantly have great Greek food. They went above and beyond today fulfilling a last minute work party order. A+ in our book. Fast, friendly, and delicious.

  • Becky G.

This is a great step-up from "fast food" greek. The gyros are delicious, with no weird flavor you can't explain. The fries are thick, served with fry sauce. The rice and salad are exceptionally greek. They use authentic sauces, dressings, seasonings, and olives. The white cucumber/yogurt sauce is particularly good. Tomatoes are fresh. The burgers are big and fairly good. This location's seating arrangement is probably the only bad thing I have to say about it. It's just a big square with tables spread out. I can tell I'm never the only one who feels like they're on display while they're eating. But I suppose it's worth it since I keep going back when I have a hankering for a gyro or a good hamburger in the area. Other locations I've been to are similar food-wise, but better layout wise.

I really enjoy this place. Their Dask Burger with Bacon and Feta is my favorite... But today I changed it up and got the Gyro Plate... meat was tender and juicy sauce was a good creamy consistency. Rice was moist and light... I would recommend anyone to come here. Service is nice and friendly... Great place to get some good food.... For a quick serve restaurant I give it 4 stars......

  • R Clark G.

Overall it was a nice little place for lunch. Service was very friendly and cooperative. We had a living social coupon to use and they worked with us to help us use our full $20. It was pretty affordable too, had we paid, it came out to about $17 for two Gyro plates (each w/ two sides). The food was decent. My boyfriend's chicken came out dry, and my lamb was on the salty side. Still, I would go back.

Lamb gyro tasted great! Falafel was ok.

  • Arya P.

I'd almost give this 5 stars, except it seems to lean towards accomodating the 'utah palate' a bit (flavors are modest), which is a bit disappointing when searching out authentic Greek food. But you can't please 'em all. If Lonestar Taqueria is known for their Fish Tacos, Dasks outta be known for their Lamb Gyros. The lamb gyro is delicious. The lamb is absolutely the most tender, slow roasted thinly sliced pieces I've ever had. For comparison the City Greek Express (rated great here on yelp) serves 'gyro meat' gyros with only 20% lamb, the rest is beef. The lamb is also quite generous, which instantly deserves a good rating since most restaurants are so skimpy with meat. The sauce is very good on it, though I'm not sure if it should have had more cucumber (it is tsatsiki), since I couldn't really detect it. The pita dough was soft and warm and delicious, and its served with fresh tomato and onion in it too. The rice is very good - a nice savory lemony, non bitter flavor. The fries are tasty and crisp just like the other reviewer here said. Also tried one of the 'house specailties': the spanakopita, which was good (but not as good as the gyro) - the filo dough was delicious and light and flaky, the spinach maybe overpowering the cheese a bit inside (this could be my American palate speaking though, wanting more cheese). Overall my impressions is that its a non-assertive very good Greek food and the prices are fair (about $8 for a plate of salad, rice/fries, and a gyro). Not bad. It is more suited for lunch and quick meals, rather than focusing on authentic large meals or fancy sit-down dining. If you find their menu online, everything has since changed to be about $2 more. If I want a quick yummy gyro, I won't bother driving downtown for one, this place suits that need. They have numerous newspaper articles hung about the place praising their gyros and food in general as well. In my own opinion I'd love to see it a little more fun personality inside, (a little more fun, it seems a bit sterile) to help it be the dive the newspaper clippings claim it to be. But that is mostly beside the point as long as the food is good and the quality, personal service and friendliness more than make up for it!

  • James M.

Pathetic. We ordered our food to go, and a few minutes later when we went to eat it, it was cold. The Greek salad was nothing more than a salad mix from a bag with one olive and a little feta cheese.

    (1)
  • Collin C.

Good food but a little pricey. the signs on the out door tables telling off other restaurant customers seems unfriendly and uninviting.

Some colleagues from work recommended DASKS and mentioned that they have great Greek food. After going there for lunch I was greatly disappointed, not only in DASKS, but in my coworker's misfortune of not having better Greek food after all of her travels around the world. I had the chicken gyro and it was terrible. The chicken was bland and tasted as if it were just boiled and placed in a pita. I think it is important to note that, despite being pretty damn hungry, I didn't even finish it. The only reason I gave DASKS 2 stars and not one is because the second star is the place holder for the lamb gyro which I heard is really good. If I ever feel desperate enough to go there again and try it and find it to be just as bad as the chicken, you can count on me to come back and downgrade to a single star :o)

    (2)

I have to disagree with Bani (mostly because I know him and want to give him a hard time). I like DASKS - and it's not just my personal affection for the owner, Jorge (who, like Bani, happens to be a very likable and congenial fellow). I would recommend steering clear of the chicken gyro. Go with the falafel gyro, the grilled chicken salad or the Dasks's Burger. Jorge will even put feta cheese on the burger for you to keep it Greek.

A solid choice for a fast lunch with Greek flair. The gyros have a generous portion of meat and plenty of sauce and the pitas are particularly good--I'm guessing they're made in house because I can taste the olive oil and the texture is great. I'll come again. A nice find.

Dasks was my first intro to Greek food back in the early 80's when they had the place at crossroads plaza, so I was ecstatic when I moved back to Salt Lake last year and found one just down the road from my house. The food is always consistently good! Great Lemon rice, great Gyros that might have too much yogurt sauce but that's quick to fix and better than not having enough. I love the Greek salad with tons of feta. I love how lady from Michigan was going to give this place 5 stars but since this place caters to the Utah palate with modest flavors she went 4 star... I'm pretty sure Kronos doesn't make a different spit of meat for us Utards with delicate tastes buds!

I don't know if I would call fast food but it's definitely good food that comes out fast. The dolmathes are delicious as is the lamb meat. The souvlaki is pretty standard and the burgers are about on par with most of the local joints. I don't know what it is but mixing the rice with the salad makes for one interestingly tasty side dish.

    (3)
  • sean v.

The Gyro and the best tasting. I agree with The Salt Lake Tribune rating DASKS as the best tasting Gyro in the State of Utah. DASKS also makes great Greek inspired burgers. The pastrami and heart attack are my favorites. On any burger I recommend adding swiss cheese.

so, i decided i needed to try dasks lamb gyro again. lamb gyro once again, GENEROUS portion of lamb. fresh lettuce, tomato, onion and tzatziki sauce. it was fresh. it was delicious. and worth giving dasks one more star. next time: souvlaki. dasks, make me believe you can make a tender pork souvlaki.

I went back with a group, and once again it was a mistake. This time I tried their special: a spicy bacon burger with fries and a drink. Problem #1: There were 6 of us and they got 4 of the orders wrong. Problem #2: I only wanted water, not a fountain drink. They couldn't figure out how to only charge me for water, so I made it easy on them and just got the drink. Problem #3: the spicy burger wasn't spicy. If I really focused I could barely sense a vinegar taste like what's in Tabasco, but it mostly tasted like a low quality bacon cheeseburger. Next time I am with a group that wants to go there I'll more strongly suggest we try somewhere else.

Overpriced. Dry meat. Drenched in so much sauce I had to wipe a bunch of it off the sandwich. Would not recommend.

Dask's was everything I expected it to be. Nothing more, nothing less. The lamb gyro was good. Quality Kronos deal I'd expect from any Greek Joint in the states. The tzadziki was decent. Again, nothing I'm going to yell from a rooftop about, but this is Utah after all. The pita was soft and fluffy, nicely prepared. I also had a slice of their homemade spanikopita, which was excellent. They make it sheet pan style, which I like. The filling is done right, the flavour spot on. It's moist and creamy on the inside, with a nice crunch of golden filo on the exterior. I really wish they had mousaka or pastitsio on their menu, because if the quality of the spanikopita is any indicator, I have a feeling they would be fantastic. One thing that struck me as a bit odd, was they asked if I wanted red or white sauce on my gyro. What? No full blooded greek would dream of putting any "red sauce" (ok, there was that roxani rose fad a few years ago,) on a gyro... Then again, don't get me started on the "gyros" served in the states... I didn't think to ask for a taste of the red sauce (wtf?) but next time I'm back I think I'll have to find out more.

Had a lamb gyro (the obvious choice) with fries and a salad. The gyro is well made and a perfect size. The full plate of food with two sides is a very healthy portion, enough to stuff almost anyone. It's pretty classic greek fast food but it hits all the right buttons. Great spot for lunch after a day up the canyons, gives Lone Star a run for their money in terms of value.

    (4)
  • H. W.

We had falafel gyro combo (you can choose the side from lemon rice, greek salad, or fries) that day. Food were tasty, the staff was polite, the service was quick, and the store was clean. We will definitely return to try other dishes.

This lamb gyro, falafel and greek burgers are really great! I think it's the tastiest fast greek food in the valley. The rice is great too!

Time for an update. Dasks is still excellent! We stopped in the other day for some dinner and were pleased as punch once again. I broke my routine this time, eschewing the lamb gyro in favor of the Dasks Burger. I wasn't disappointed. This thing was just a pure and simple burger with my choice of cheese (I went with cheddar). There was nothing overly fancy about this burger, which was A-OK since it really allowed the meat patty to shine. And shine it did! The meat was fresh and delicious. It wasn't perfectly round, as if from a meat-mold, but was rough-edged and unique... like a snowflake. Even though I skipped the gyro, I had to go with the lemon rice for my side and it was fantastic, as usual. Lisa got the chicken sandwich and fries and both were magically delicious. The service was great and the owner even went from table to table making sure everyone was happy and well fed. The only big difference I noticed on this visit is that the beer is no longer an option. Oh well...no big deal. I still love Dasks.

Lamb gyro was very good, adequate size. I went with the platter (2 sides): lemon rice was good, but tough to pick a second side. I had the Greek salad, which was tough to eat when they piled it all on the same plate; lettuce and feta falling off the plate. Worth a stop.

    (4)
  • Sarah S.

Souvlaki meat dry & flavorless; lamb gyro has absolutely no lamb taste at all. Fries inconsistent (sometimes are way undercooked.) Will not go back at all.

    (2)
  • Mark S.

Never disappointed here. I usually get the lamb gyro combo but this time I got the falafel gyro combo. Good choice. More overflowing than the lamb gyro and a lot more vegetables too. Diced cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce and I got the hummus instead of the white sauce. They top it off with a bit of Greek salad dressing which adds to the fresh taste. Again, good choice. I like eating there as they usually have sports on one flat panel TV and news on another.

This place is okay for a gyro, but the fries were very plain and boring. The guys were nice at the front but they seemed overwhelmed with the amount of people that were coming in. I had to wait quite awhile for my food and couldn't imagine anyone with a 30 minute lunch break making it back in time and worse yet finishing their food. I'm not saying it is bad and I am not saying it is good. It is just okay!

Overpriced. Dry meat. Drenched in so much sauce I had to wipe a bunch of it off the sandwich. Would not recommend.

Souvlaki meat dry & flavorless; lamb gyro has absolutely no lamb taste at all. Fries inconsistent (sometimes are way undercooked.) Will not go back at all.

Pathetic. We ordered our food to go, and a few minutes later when we went to eat it, it was cold. The Greek salad was nothing more than a salad mix from a bag with one olive and a little feta cheese.

Good food but a little pricey. the signs on the out door tables telling off other restaurant customers seems unfriendly and uninviting.
