One of my best experiences at a Mexican restaurant. Where I live has about 4 Mexican restaurants in the area but I would without hesitation drive the 20 min drive over to Nolensville just to eat at Campo Azul. I think everything from the food to drink specials is priced incredibly well. We got Jim's nachos and the portion was huge and the food was hot and really good. All Mexican restaurants have the same menu pretty much, so you can get what they have at Campo Azul anywhere else but the difference is the prices, the portions, the flavor and the service. The waitstaff was very friendly, always checked on us, one man (possibly a manager) came up patted us on the back, made us laugh and asked us if we needed anything. At one point I was outside when it got too chilly as the sun went down, so I grabbed my drink and our basket of chips to head inside, as I approached the door a man with his hands completely full of a bucket piled w dishes rushed right over to use his foot to open the door for me. I thought that was nice of him considering most places I would've been ignored and left to open the door myself. On top of everything else I've said I loved the bright colors of the restaurant and the decor they used . The place feels really clean and really inviting and I felt appreciated as a customer there. So yes I would return in a heartbeat.

While the food is certainly not the best Mexican, it's not the worst. Very nice decor, certainly done well for a little town such as Nolensville. Salsa is mediocre, and the chips are decent when they aren't over heated/burned. Last night's experience: my fajita beef taco salad was very tasty....until we looked back towards the bar area and noticed two servers BRUSHING THEIR TEETH with toothbrushes behind the bar. They knew we were watching them, but that didn't stop their brushing. We finally called over our server and told her to tell those two to go to the bathroom if they want to brush their teeth... Needless to say, we lost our appetite. Our server (a middle aged woman) was very apologetic, and even gave us a discount card for our next meal. She claimed it was because the servers were "YOUNG". Really? Sorry, but if this is what goes on at this restaurant, I'll definitely be going elsewhere. Such a shame, because I kinda liked this place.

Mexican by the numbers, done pretty well. In the strip mall behind Martin's BBQ and the Sonic in Nolensville. If you're out and about in this area, well by all means, come on out. The food is hot, the margaritas are good, the salsa is tasty, the tv's are on, and the cigar bar is right next door. There is a patio between this building and the cigar bar building where there are some tables to eat too.

My sister and I went to Campo Azul after the UYE for the US World Cup game was pretty much cancelled. Bummer! Luckily for us, the game was playing at the restaurant though so I still got to see some of it. The service was slow and not the greatest but I wasn't that particular about it. Our server took about 5 minutes to come and greet us and take our drink order. Anyway, I ordered the single order of shrimp fajitas. I love shrimp. I could eat it every day and I know when it is good or not. The single order was plenty for me. Too much even! It came with veggies, rice, beans, guacamole, sour cream and pico. The shrimp was cooked perfectly! It was so good! I wanted to eat all of it but I was too full to finish each one. The veggies were good too. I was so happy with my choice.

This is my all time favorite Mexican place. The staff is amazing. I've eaten here about a hundred times. Their best dish is probably the carnitas or milenasa. And their margaritas are my favorite in Nashville.

My family loves to eat here. The owners care about their customers. The food is consistent. Always a good meal. I really like the Chile relleno or Miranda's salad.

Terrible!!!! I think this is the first time I've ever had bland Mexican food. And a warm margarita! No exaggeration, it was gross! And the service was terrible.... Definitely a nonchalant attitude with this arrogant staff. Tried to even say goodbye & thank you on our departure, and we were completely ignored. Didn't think it could get worse than Las Palmas, but this place achieved what I thought was impossible :(

Terrible margaritas, pretty good food, below average service. Nashville is not where you want to be for good Mexican food.

I'm am spoiled on Mexican food now. The guacamole is great. Margaritas are dangerous and the entrees are to die for. For Mexican food the bar has been raised by this establishment. Highly recommend

Campo Azul is a sweet little hot spot in this quaint town and an excellent addition to the area; possibly the best restaurant within the Nolensville city limits. I lived in Nolensville from middle through high school and saw the town go from "Wheres-ville?" to a conveniently accessed town with its own city hall. Many restaurants have come and gone--pizzerias, american fare, Asian, barbecue--and I have undoubtedly tried them all. Replacing what was once Rio Verde (the mediocre Mexican restaurant of Nolensville in a different location) is Campo Azul... a restaurant so good that I'm sure that the residents of the city have long forgotten the former similarity. Sporting a clean, festive atmosphere; offering an extended simple menu beyond your normal two pages of everything familiar; quick and efficient service; cheap drink deals (including $4 Margaronas); Campo Azul could likely be Nolesnville's dining star as no other restaurant is currently executing all of the above qualities here. Of all the meals I have had, I have thoroughly enjoyed each one. Although they don't create the best salsa I've ever had (still nice and chunky but a bit heavy on the cilantro for my personal liking), I'm confident you'll enjoy this sweet little spot as much as my family and I do!

Foods good but the margs are on point! Two of those bad boys and you're feeling great! My wife and I stop in for them all the time. I saw a review that said they use a lot of cilantro and my wife hates it so she stays away from the salsa but I think it's great. If you're a margarita fan definitely check it out grab some fajitas while you're there.

Strengths: Good menu. Bar with TV in back. Outdoor seating Opportunities: Parking can be an issue. Service at times just rude. They don't seem to enjoy their work or appreciate their customers. Summary: Las Palmas is down the road. Food is good but service is much nicer. Go there.

The food is decently priced and tasted just fine. Some items were a bit bland but okay. You must be a cilantro fan to eat here because it is everywhere. The biggest downside to the place is the service. The food came out all different times, orders were wrong and there seemed to be no urgency to provide customer service. We would go back if the service was better. But it's not.

Swing a dead cat and you're bound to hit an "authentic Mexican restaurant" around Nashville. I've tried them all (almost) and Campo Azul (or "Camp Blue" to us Gringos) is hands down my favorite. They have a super friendly staff, quick service and it never takes long to get a table and your food -- even when they're busy. The manager often says "see you tomorrow" after we pay and head towards the door. And while I know he's joking I often think "yeah, tomorrow sounds good!" You can grab a margarita for around 5 bucks and their salsa is on point. Muy bien!

Thanks to Nolan's Place ignoring us we enjoyed a very nice meal here. If you leave here hungry its you own fault. We got absolutely stuffed for half of what we were going to spend at NP

It's an OK place. Good margaritas but the steak fajita had no taste at all. Very bland. Beans and rice were good. Salsa was good not overly spicey. Service was fast but not plesent. Overpriced compares to other Mexican places nearby

I just recently moved to this area and was excited to try this restaurant because Mexican is my favorite. I have to add that I have lived all over parts of California for my whole life so I know what good Mexican food is. this place is not good, aka authentic, Mexican food. First sign, the salsa is straight up canned or jarred mass produced junk (like sweet pace picante). The guacamole is also fake. I tasted some from my husband's dish and commented on it not even tasting like guacamole and his response was, "the bright green color didn't give that away?" Yep tasted like "just add water to powdered guacamole mix." The chips are not fresh either. Next dead giveaway that this is white people Mexican food Mecca- ground beef in the enchiladas, tacos and on top of the tamales. The cheese in the chile rellano made me gag. I wanted to spit it out. It was like white American cheese/ velveta-nastiness. I ordered the child Colorado. Every time I've had chile Colorado it is large stew-like chunks of beef in a silky smooth sauce. This was not that. Instead they used tiny, thin strips in a thin tomatoey sauce (probably what they use for fajitas). It was tasty, but threw me off since I've never had it prepared like that. This place is good for families with kids of all ages. There were tons of families there on a Friday evening. What I would bet money on is that the people who own and serve at this place don't eat the food they make/serve. Really they should be ashamed to serve the public this food and pass it off as Mexican food. There needs to be a warning sign on the door saying something like "warning: we only serve gringo Mexican food here!" Another plus is the prices. You get a lot of food for the price. Service was friendly for a really busy night. I came to the conclusion that I probably ordered the wrong thing...I should have ordered something like a chimichanga since that's what the other tables around me seemed to be ordering. I really wanted to like this place and the yelp reviews made me think it was promising, but it have a feeling that "Mexican" food around here is really just Tex-Mex.

Though our visit started off on a rocky note (no fault of the restaurant, my 5,000 pound purse knocked my chair clean out) our evening ended up with four shining stars. Who knew a tiny little Mexican place buried in a strip mall of Nolensville would stand and deliver such flavor? The beer was cold, the wine was from a bottle, the chips were crisp and tasty. The salsa was good, for me it could have been just a little more spicy, but looking around the room and seeing all the families, I would call it perfect! Loved my burrito, the chicken was spiced nicely, the tortilla was fresh, the beans tasted lard free. My husband's salad was a hit, (a huge endorsement, he is discerning) and my son raved about his enchilada's. The prices are reasonable, the staff is friendly, the margarita's are flowing. Go early on the weekends, the place is very, very busy. But be sure to wait. Campo Azul will leave you pleased!

I wouldn't suggest any Nashvillians jump in their cars and head South of the border to Nolensville but if you are in town I highly suggest Campo Azul. They just moved to a new location so it's fresh and clean. They have a cool little bar area, excellent service, and consistant Mexican dishes.

I've eaten here many more times than I've checked in, and I've got to say it's convenient, quick and pretty darn good. The guys in my family really appreciate the tvs that have various sporting events on. The staff is friendly. The chips and queso are tasty, and they have nice large cokes. I kind of hate to tell everyone where it is, but I'll be nice and generous and share this time...just with my fellow yelpers! ha! It's in the shopping center that sonic and martin's bbq are in - yes, a strip mall - right back there behind martin's. Campo Azul is not going to offer you a gourmet dining experience by any means. But, sometimes it just hits the spot, you know? And, sometimes you need that spot filled quickly and, for me, they do that pretty well. Yum!

Great food. My kids love the Jim's nachos. Place has great atmosphere. It has great variety and if you want something a little lighter then recommend the grilled chicken.

Just moved to Nolensville, and was pleased to know that there was a Mexican joint in the strip mall at the exit to my neighborhood. The food was really good. Lunch fajitas came out sizzling, fresh, delicious and plenty of it. My wife said her chicken burrito was delicious, using grilled chicken instead of the stringy chicken used at other mexican eateries. They have lunch menu 7 days a week :), house margaritas are $4, 12oz domestic draft beer $1.85. We look forward to many more meals at Campo Azul!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
