I'm loving Murfreesboro TN. Oh how I have missed waitresses who visit with you and smile, they may or may not love their job but you have no way of knowing that because they are just lovely, wonderful southerners (Dearest Northern Family, I love you and you know that, but even you know what I mean). So on with breakfast... 1. Coffee is yummy-hot-and I got my own pot! Yikes, did I just go all Seussical? Ah well, coffee is gooder, coffee is greater, we could share some, so don't be a hater. Ok! I'm finished. 2. The young guy who seated me was stinkin' cute as a button. I wanted to hug him but opted out. Let's not freak him out because I'm having a wonderful southern moment. 3. The waitress is lovely. I didn't go with her food suggestion because of dietary restrictions (Pig? No thank you). She wasn't the least bit offended. 4. I like food here! It's breakfast and its worthwhile. They have some unusual dishes so if you are daring, go for it. The fruit cup has actual fruit in it other than that hateful honeydew/one grape thing (I'm looking at you Starbucks). 5. Locally owned so come and support your hometown business owners. Peace!

I have visited this place three times hoping that the service will improve but NO MORE. Each time it was a different reason why (short staff, too many order at the same time or they are new) but I can think of one, poor or no training. The food is actually pretty good if it comes out hot or correctly. Each time, I ate alone while the person across from me had to send their dish back or the person across from me had finished eating because I had to send mine back.

We had the Athena Scramble and Eggs, biscuits and gravy. The server was great - very friendly and upbeat. The food was less than great. Both eggs were scrambled and watery. I wondered if they were powdered. I wouldn't go out of my way to return here.

Blah. The food is nothing special. I'm not hating on anyone that loves the food; it just didn't do it for me. Everything was bland EXCEPT the sweet tea. The sweet tea was fantastic. The service was, too. Our server was very sweet and attentive. The food was the deal-breaker.

Been here twice and have not been disappointed! Food is really good and taste fresh! I love this place and will definitely return! Service was also very good and it's a cute place! This is a must try but they are only open until I think 2:00?

When you don't expect much it's hard to get less than what you expected. What I got were eggs so hard I couldn't eat them, cold potatoes and altogether if iffy service. My husband had biscuits and gravy and the biscuits were too hard to cut with a fork. His potatoes were also lukewarm. To their credit they offered to replace the eggs but by the time they would get back the eggs back I'd be done with everything else anyway. We will not return.

We had a wait of about 10 minutes and I was looking at my Yelp app for something else nearby when they called our name.... they reeled us in just in time.... our waitress Kaitlyn is extremely nice and friendly... I like this place already because of her. After looking at menu we made our decision... Noel went with the Spinach, Bacon, mushroom omelet with English muffin and ranch potatoes on the side. I went with the Hikers Benedict with Ranch potatoes and Tony chose the Texas Skillet with sourdough toast and eggs over easy... coffee was his drink, Noel opted for iced mocha latte and me.....Coca Cola The food arrived very quickly... and it looked amazing... Tony's plate was huge and I had to take a bit ((( of course )))... And OMG my plate not only looked but tasted Amazing... three bites in and I knew we would be back here again... Noel loved her omelet and ranch potatoes.... I really enjoyed my HIKERS BENEDICT...the hollandaise sauce had a touch of Dill and it really set it off making it just that much better...I have to admit Noel's platter wasn't that outstanding in looks, but she loved every bite of it and said it was a "do-er" she would definitely order this again!!! I enjoyed the breakfast, all together tip and all it was about $45..now that is a little costly for breakfast... Food great!!! Service Superb !!! Decor...ah...okay, nothing outstanding... size ..way too small and prices...Way to High !!!

This is one of my favorite brunch spots. The huevos rancheros are amazing! The service is always friendly and quick. They also have coffee while you wait to be seated.

Went today for the first time with my family. The service was very slow, took forever to get our food, which isn't typical for breakfast. I asked for no ham in my order and it came with ham in it, but since we waited for so long to get our food, I just ate around it. It was overpriced for the quality of the food. Definitely frozen potatoes and the egs were not even good. At least they could get there signature dish correct, they treated like egg beaters. Will NOT be going back.

For me to write a review means I was pretty disappointed. For a breakfast joint they were super slow and the food was fair. Average would be a stretch. First the good: the waitress was smiling and very pleasant. But after 20 minutes and no food her smile and pacifying words fell on deaf ears. I thought if it's taking this long it must be good. No. My bfast was lukewarm, they forget the tort and the melted cheese was over cooked. My husband asked for eggs over medium with chorizo and pork green sauce. The eggs were well, no chorizo and green sauce was mixed with red for a brown look. I will stick with smyrna IHOP and Waffle House where they are consistent and quick.

I had a great experience here! Not only was the staff excellent and super friendly, but the food was great! I ordered the apple turkey croissant and it was delicious and light. It doesn't have mayo on it so add it if u want more wetness to the sandwich but it was perfect without it! I tried my bro on laws waffles, amazing fluffy and delicious! If u like coffee, the hazelnut coffee was great but it is sweet! I enjoyed everything about this place!

When we first got in on this Sunday morning, we noticed a huge room of people waiting for tables and prepared ourselves for a ridiculously long wait, as described by other yelpers. I pulled a menu out and perused it, chatting a little with my companion about what sounded good and our plans for the day. Despite the larger group of people at the door, we were seated within five minutes. Nice! Our server, Evan, was prompt and courteous. Because of our preliminary menu meanderings, we ordered immediately and enjoyed looking through the basket of jelly and even noticed they had sugar in the raw packets. Coffee arrived quickly, and almost instantly, our food followed! I don't think I have EVER experienced a turnaround that fast. Color me impressed! What we ate: - Hikers Benedict - I've been a little under the weather, so take this review with a grain of salt, since I kiiiiiind of can't taste anything right now. Visually, the plate was gorgeous! Beautiful poached eggs with hollandaise and dill atop two chewy English muffins and vegetables that all paired together very well. The asparagus was cooked through, but not over cooked, and the side of ranch potatoes were tasty. - Green chili chicken hash - My companion won't stop raving about the texture of the potatoes. They weren't heavy and greasy like many hashes are wont to be. Instead of little chopped potatoes, they were closer to a mash or milled potato and were nice and moist. She got requested her eggs to be scrambled, but I bet it would be beyond amazing with them fried. It wasn't much to look at (in fact, I'm hesitant to post the picture because it betrays the deliciousness of the meal...), but it left us pretty happy and satisfied!

This place blows. Service is cheesy, food is mediocre, I have now been twice and the only thing I can recommend is the waffle. It is quite delicious. Waffle House does everything else better. Any other questions?

Delicious breakfast or lunch. I hate trying to go to IHOP when I want a restaurant style breakfast then wait 40 minutes just to sit. I love Egg & I. I've never waited and My eggs are always perfect. Also The service is super friendly. Being open until 2 works great for late risers. They also have a free meeting room for business. Not that I've needed that.

Ordered the chicken avocado sandwich. You aren't going to find your newest favorite dish here but there are many well done recreations of the classics. Wide menu, prompt service, and a nice atmosphere for breakfast.

LOVE this place for breakfast! Tried the Patriot Waffle and was not disappointed. The Seasonal Coffee was delicious - Carmel Crunch! Would not recommend the OJ, but that's just a personal choice. Overall, good food and good service at a good price. Very pleased!

Went back for breakfast again, actually this was 3rd visit and was for sure the last one. Arrived around 10:30 Sat morning and, as described in earlier review, standing at front waiting for a table and noticed no one is being seated. Lots of people leaving but no tables being bussed, nothing! Kept hearing from the front staff "they are having issues in the kitchen right now" ....after about 40 minutes of waiting and still tables are not bussed we turned and walked out....never again for this place!

Our waiter Evan was outstanding. The food was good and it matched the price. Coffee was great my wife is a casual coffee drinker and she had two cups. Which she never drinks two cups.

The Egg and I has pretty good food. I have had the ultimate egg sandwich which is always very tasty. The service is very inattentive. I am not sure if they are understaffed or just not properly trained. I have been there several times waiting on food and the ticket.

Rather disappointing. Wait - average. Cleanliness - good. Food - average at best, Eggs so runny I'm not sure they were even cooked. Sausage had a funky added flavor, French toast was average. Corned beef hash was fresh but only average in flavor. Price - $30+ - better value (and flavor) at IHOP.

The Egg and I Restaurant seemed to be a difficult place to get in to since they are only open for breakfast and lunch. My family and I ventured there one Sunday morning after we had heard some good things about it and a friend had given me a 'secret' coupon - a sealed envelope the server opens for you at the time of service and then you find out what deal you'll receive. We received $10 off our meal! They even honored this coupon in May even though I didn't realize it had expired in March! The food was good and the service was friendly. I enjoyed the raisin french toast with eggs and bacon. Yum! For the price and the selections, we've decided this is our new Waffle House. If only they were open more?!

We stopped in last Sunday. The food was delightful and the service was top notch!! They have a great children's menu and they give the kids colored pencils rather than crayons. They also have SO MANY CHOICES!! I could come every weekend this year and probably eat something different each time. We will definitely be returning!!! Thank you for the great experience!!

Great service and great food. We will be back. Stopped in Saturday morning about 10:30, just my wife and me. Only 5 minute wait to be seated. Server there quick and was very nice. I had the Green Chili Chicken Hash and it is one of the top 10 breakfasts I have had. Great flavor and good portion. My wife had an egg white omelette with veggies and she really enjoyed it.

We ate here for the first time today. This is our new favorite breakfast place! The Spinach Bacon Mushroom Omelet was wonderful and the choices of eggs benedict can't be beat. We will be back!

My boyfriend and I visited here for the first time today. I had heard and read mixed reviews, but always like to give a place a try myself. We arrived late morning and they were busy... a large group was just leaving as we got there. Even still, our wait was less that fifteen minutes to get a table. Because they were so busy, we had to wait a little while for our food, but it was well worth the wait and our server didn't desert us. She came by a couple times to explain the wait and check for anything we needed. I always appreciate this, especially if there is a wait. My boyfriend had the Mexican Skillet and I had the Sante Fe Huevos. The dishes were both cooked perfectly and rich with flavor. We especially liked the pork green chili topping, however, the salsa was good, too! I know we will visit here again in the near future. The menus is full of delicious sounding dishes that I want to explore!

The food always tastes great! Comes out within a reasonable amount if time, especially for a family with two impatient toddlers ;) AND they are always friendly and courteous! Nothing to complain about.

I cannot even review this place for the lack of ability to seat tables. We have been standing here for the 35 minutes of our 35 minutes expected wait time with approximately 30 people standing waiting while 3 table right inside the door sit empty staring at us teasing us. The front is run by 3 teenagers with not an adult or manager in sight. The waitresses seem to be working hard, but this I cannot confirm due to the utter lack of restaurant knowledge from the folks running the front end. This place has now been stricken off our list of restaurant joints in Murfreesboro to frequent... If only the City Cafe were open on Sunday's :(

I have been to Egg and I several times. I usually have a 3 strike rule for restaurants but for some reason I keep going back. The food is good. The service is lacking. If you sit outside be prepared to be ignored. At my last visit we waited 15 minutes after being seated outside and no waitress. We just left to go to another place.

First the atmosphere is nice and homey :) the waitress was nice and quick with our drinks. The coffee was great, and when our food arrived, out came a nice warm cup of syrup to come with our French toast. The food was Great :D not OMG but tasty. The presentation of the food is not that impressive but still great French toast! If you want an alternative to IHOP that isn't much a difference in price but better quality, this is the place in The Boro

visited here when we were in the area and hungry for breakfast. was greeted and sat quickly. our server was attentive and very friendly. the food was ok. not phenomenal, but definitely not bad. not the best value for the money the decor was rather dated. from the name and location I would have expected a little more urban and hip. overall, I would go again if I found myself in the area hungry, but would not make a special trip there otherwise.

Great breakfast stop. This is a great addition to the Borro. Good selection and very willing to make changes to accommodate special dietary needs. I have gluten allergy and they substituted the toast for fruit at no charge.

Went again about a week ago. The service was better and the food was good. We'll be putting this place in the rotation. There are a lot more dishes I'd like to try.

Had the crab cakes eggs Benedict. Was just ok, cold hollandaise sauce and cold potatoes. Eggs were perfectly poached though. Cracker B is much better.

Long long wait. Dirty cup was set for us and they only laid one set of silver for two of us. Table was dirty. Food took at least 30 minutes to come out for two of us. Servers were seemingly in no hurry whatsoever to get tables clean and guests seated. The food was hot and good. We never did get the second set of silverware, and had to ask for syrup. The fully loaded ranch potatoes were great with the green chili. The eggs were quite greasy. Probably wont be back.

I've eaten here twice. The service was very good both times. I like the carafes of drinks they provide to let you refill your own drink as needed. I had sandwiches both times. The first time I had the turkey bacon sandwich, which was good, but on the second visit, I got the ranch chicken wrap, which was dry and bland. I got some extra ranch, which helped, but it was clearly bottled, not house-made.

Very average food at an above average price.

Tried them again. The butter still tastes like dirty refrigerator. They definitely can't cook a waffle, but the eggs and bacon were again perfect. Fruit and yogurt was good. We may or may not go back. Mimi's is much more comfortable and offers much the same fare.
