Pretty good, but I liked the doughnuts at Donut Time better. Too bad that place went out of business. And Krispy Kreme are the greatest doughnuts I've ever had (fresh ones, not the old stuff you get in the grocery store), so these don't compare. The Richy Kreme donuts are a little flatter in appearance, but they're pretty good. It's a bit of a hole in the wall, and I passed it twice before I finally saw it.

Best donuts in the area. They melt in your mouth and regularly sell out so get there early!

Hand made, and home made delicious donuts. On the main road but easy to miss. If you haven't wandered in here yet, you definitely need to. This place has some of the best donuts around, not to mention its been around for years. My favs are: Glazed and the chocolate glazed! Go check them out, I'm a fan! Cheers & Enjoy!

Good stuff. The best way to judge a donut shop is based on how good their plain glazed is. If that's legit, chances are almost everything from the shop is going to be legit, too. And Richy Kreme are legit! I realize I'm probably at my limit for using that word but it's the truth. Used to have Richy Kreme's when I was living in Kentucky and dated a girl from Maryville and we'd go to visit her family. Memories of those donuts...damn, man.

So I have literally went to the Holy Grail of Donuts. I went in for a variety pack today for a breakfast birthday celebration and left so happy. For a couple of weeks now, my boss in Maryville has told me Richy Kreme Donuts are the best in the world. That being said, I had to get some for his birthday today. Now it is located a bit off the beaten path. Google directions lead you to the back of the building, but it is actually on the main road in a small strip mall. The store gives you a very nostalgic feeling when you go in because it has been in the exact spot for 64 years. They must be doing something right then! My co-workers and I sampled a variety of donuts --- my favorite was the peanut butter glazed donut. But the bear claws, creme filled donuts and honey bun were delicious. You can get a dozen of mixed donuts for $9.10 plus tax. If you are on the way to the mountains, I would make a little side track for breakfast for sure!

Great donuts! Not as light at Krispy Kreme, but they have their own appeal. Krispy Kreme only wins out with Hot Now melt in your mouth donuts, otherwise I choose this place. Very nice lady who runs the place. My only issue is you can't get donuts later in the day because they make a batch, sell out and close shop. Just make sure you go in the morning.

Just as good as I remembered! I truly loved this place growing up and is still has a certain nostalgia factor to it now. Everything is so fresh and meticulously prepared. I love the apple fritter type donut they have. Actually, I love every donut they have! It may be out of your way but you are missing out if that is the only reason you don't come here! So do yourself a favor and make the trip to get the best donut east Tennessee offers.

Forget Dunkins or Krispy, if you want really good fresh donuts, Richy Kreme is the place to go in Maryville. They bake donuts fresh several times a day, so they are consistently the freshest I've ever had. Chocolate iced and just plain glazed rock my donut life!

You just don't have local donut shops anymore. Personally, I'd rather have a Richy Kreme than a Krispy Kreme any day! The place is nothing fancy - a case of varying donuts (including some fantastic cinnamon twists), a shelf rack of plain donuts and donut holes, a cooler of drinks and milk, and a coffee pot. No tables, no eating in. Fresh made every day, throughout the day, and oh so yummy. I've heard the dough is different due to potato flour, but can't vouch for that.

I love this place. I work in Maryville and have had the pleasure of having their tasty donuts. Richy Kreme reminds me of donuts I used to get when we visited my Grandmother in Columbus, OH. It's something that the small Mom & Pop places have that the big chains can never harness. It's just down home goodness. For those of you who have not had the pleasure of experiencing local, hometown donuts, make the small drive to Maryville and taste what you're missing.

I have had a friend bring me their yummy donuts and I wish I lived closer to be able to constantly go there as a regular customer.

Most people love Dunkin donuts because of the coffee, but donut lovers will tell you that Richy Kreme is the place for the better donut. This place has set the precedent for great quality, and others will attest, Richy Kreme bakes many batches throughout the day to make sure you're getting the freshest donuts possible. Great place to grab breakfast for the office too, very cheap and so fresh they'll last till you make it to work too and still be warm. The customer service is excellent and if you're commuting from Maryville to Knoxville then this place is a great stop before the trek.

My hometown doughnutier since 1948. Richie Kreme's old fashioned donuts lay somewhere between the glazey goodness of Krispy Kreme and the hearty cakeyness of Dunkin. Their cream filled chocolate iced, and jelly filled are my personal favs. Good donught holes. Its nice to see a local player has managed to last so many years in a world dominated by mediocre chains.

Out of the way doughnuts, with out of this world quality! Get out of the way, you lesser pastries! Legend has it that Richy Kreme is the pioneer of the kreme [sic] (ne, cream) filled pastry that now has become the staple of the doughnut trade. And, given the unmatched quality of the fillings that grace the insides of their delectable doughnuts, one is inclined to believe said legend. The only other doughnut doyenne that approaches Richy Kreme's quality is Doughnut Man in Glendora, CA. (Who, should follow RK's lead in opening a 2nd store--are you listening, Dan?). Between these two paramount practitioners, access and acquisition of superior doughnuts is within a 3hr airplane trip to most of the contiguous States. What a great country!
