Healthy Meal suggestions for Noodles & Company

Had never been to this restaurant before last month, and now I'm a fan. The herbs appear to be fresh, but my favorite thing about this place are the low-calorie options, especially the buff bowls. It's a refreshing change to find another place besides a certain sub chain to eat out without having to make caloric sacrifices or jogging runs in penance. The staff here are all very friendly, and the only improvement that would be nice would be a bit more spice to the soups. Still, you can add your own at the table, and I do realize this is Nashville.

This review is such a throwback, but I was in Franklin in February when an insane run of weather turned Nashville into the coldest place on Earth. During that time, the entire city shut down and my saving grace was the consistently open Noodles & Company. The food isn't anything to write home about, but you know what, I have to respect reliability. I think I would have starved to death if it wasn't for the service of Noodles & Company.

Solidly meh. The noodles were decent. The 'steak' seemed like the meat from a can of Dinty Moore beef stew. They also have one of those touch screen soda machines which means waiting in line behind technologically illiterate people who can't make up their mind and push a button properly. On a positive note, the staff were extremely friendly. I don't fault them for the food at all because I'm sure they prepared it exactly how their company wants them to, and I could tell by the great service and lovely presentation that they put work into it. It isn't their fault if their company hands them substandard ingredients to work with. I'd probably give this place three stars if it cost half as much, but for the $11 I spent on my bowl of noodles and 'steak' I'd honestly expect a bit better.

Is it really that hard to get a order correct? Ordered the Tuscan Pasta with Parm Chicken. No Chicken. 2nd time I have ordered from this place. Both times they have screwed up the order. Done.

My first visit (a Tuesday night at 6pm). Order taker greeted me when I walked in and was helpful in going over the menu with me. I ordered the 'Whole Grain Tuscan Linguine", small, with a grilled chicken breast. I don't always go the healthy route, but this item sounded tasty, and the two customers ahead of both ordered it, so I figured "when in Rome..." Despite being 'healthy', the dish had a lot of flavor. The noodles and veggies were NOT overcooked, but had just the right amount of firmness to provide different textures. The grilled chicken had been squeezed completely flat, but still had a touch of good flavor from seasonings. It still tasted fine, especially when cut and mixed with the noodles. I just tend to prefer chicken that tastes and looks more fresh [natural plump?] Overall, the restaurant was clean, the staff friendly and the food good.

Ordered the pad thai and some other curry noodle dish. Veges were semi fresh but undercooked, as in raw. Meat was substandard. Both dishes were rather bland. The pad thai in particular was almost inedible.. It seriously smelt like cat food. I've been to other N&C chains but this is definitely the worst. 2 stars for friendly service and nice atmosphere. In saying that, one of the staff started vacuuming around us and it was only 6:15pm. Not cool. Definitely not worth the $22 price tag for two below average meals.

If you work in or around Cool Springs and want a good lunch spot, Noodles & Company is a really good spot. There's a lot of variety - from Italian, to Japan, to Thai - as well as sandwich and salad options too. Perhaps a bit on the pricier side, it's well worth it when you consider the fresh ingredients, and that everything is made to order - so much so that you can customize any dish - add or remove ingredients as you see fit. Also their website/app make it super easy to order, so you can do a quick pickup if you're in a rush.

Everytime I'm out in Green Hills, I end up stopping in here. I like that they have small portions and you can customize your protein choices. The price for what you get is just right. I was especially stoked to discover on my last visit that they offer more gluten-free options for pasta.

Wear a jacket. It's always chilly inside.

Just like its sister location up in Green Hills the food here is great. Finally a chain that knows how to do fast and friendly Italian (as well as Asian and American) pastas! And for the price, you can't beat it. The food here is really good. For example, for me at least, the chicken noodle soup here is perfection in a bowl... seriously, just add some matzo balls and it tastes as good as what I make (my fiance will can vouch for how good my matzo ball soup is as she often requests it)! Finally, unique to this location is a semi-automated, touch screen, beverage dispensing system for Coca-cola product. If you want more than just the typical Sprite, Coca-Cola, Dr. Pepper and 1 or 2 other random Coca-cola options, this has an immense selection. Maybe this is the first of many of the future soda fountain machines?

Love this place. The mac and cheese with meatballs and the spaghetti are both terrific. And the drink machine is always fun. Be sure and try one of their rice krispie desserts.

Way too much pasta to meat ratio. After a few bites it was like looking for a needle in a haystack.

I like this place! it has a wide selection of pasta dishes, and everything I have had so far has been very good. It's fast casual, with a very good service atmosphere. The food has always been delivered really quickly...and the staff has always come around to collect the dishes and check on me. As the others have mentioned, the drink machine here is pretty awesome. I only drink water, but I was told this soda fountain does 200 drink combinations. I had seen this prototype a few years back in a special Coca-Cola was doing. It's really cool to see this thing in action. Another thing that impressed me about this place - I tweeted about being there. And the next day I got a personal message back from them. They are obviously into customer service from the corporate level down to the bellboy.

It's ok for the price. I like that I can manage my calories but the taste is pretty bland.

Good food and clean! I was unsure of the noodles thing so I ordered the cheese steak . YUMMOLA!! My hubby had the Spicy Ceaser Wrap and that was also the jackpot!

The resturant gets a star for cleanliness, but the food sucked! I ordered the Thai Curry Soup with tofu. The tofu was SO over fried it wasn't even edible. It was like chewing on little rubber squares. The noodles in the soup, name sake of the resturant, weren't even cooked! Barely al dente. The broth was sweet and spicy and truly the only thing I went after, and that ONLY because I was so hungry. Epic failure here.

I eat here at least 2 times a week. They have a celiac Menus and the staff are super helpful. They know me when I walk n and are prepared to take care of me. I appreciate their help and dedication to my safety when dealing with my allergies

It's really a good lunch spot on weekdays. Low price and limited choices. Taste is so so though. I ordered Thai hot pot thinking it's spicy. But I really can't tell afterwards what does that "hot" mean. It's neither spicy nor hot as in more than warm. Also, I'm never sure whether should I leave tips at a place like this, you know, seems like a fast food joint but still with some sevice.

It was okay. My noodles came out very chewy but the Mac and cheese is good. Nothing to be too excited about.

Stupendous customer service, and exquisite food. My favorite is the Japanese pan noodles with marinated steak.

Yum! I was really pleased with my meal at Noodles & Company. It felt a little risky ordering one of the Asian noodle dishes in this chain noodle restaurant, but I wasn't expecting ultra-authentic Japanese udon noodles. I was really satisfied with my meal. I added shrimp to the dish, which made for a good combo. I didn't realize Noodles & Company offered such a cool, semi-"trendy" variety of noodle dishes. They offer a truffle mac 'n cheese (which I couldn't justify ordering because of the calorie count.. which is posted next to each item on the Noodles & Company menu). There's also a pesto pasta dish. Anything is customizable it seems - what proteins and veggies you want in your dish. There wasn't an advertised option to start completely from scratch where you got to pick your noodle, then sauce, then veggies, etc. Not that I would care so much for that option, but I'd say Noodles & Company would work with you on it if you should choose. Glad there's one closer to me, in Green Hills.

(I only give 5 stars to completely vegetarian restaurants; this one serves meat.) Cool little place! I was looking for a place close to my hotel, and this one was. It's right behind the Courtyard and Residence Inn in a very, very nice corporate-type area. You go in and order your food at a counter, get a number, then they bring it to you. The place is cute and super clean. I asked what was vegetarian on the menu, and the girl was VERY accommodating saying anything could be made without the meat; I appreciate that. I wasn't starving, so I just had a bowl of delicious tomato soup, and a bowl of egg noodles. OMG, the noodles (in butter, of course) were fantastic. They were perfectly cooked and had parmesan cheese sprinkled on top. They were so good, that when I got home, I went out and bought egg noodles to try and replicate them (mine weren't as good). I enjoyed my meal here. There's plenty of free parking and it's a friendly, low-key, casual atmosphere. The prices were very reasonable! My meal cost hardly anything. When in this area again, I will be back!

Had a lovely experience there with my family. I've been to the one in Chattanooga so when they opened one in Cool Springs I was excited. First time my mom and I go in to check it out they gave us a coupon for a completely free dinner for a family of four - perfect for us! We were so pleasantly surprised... Not only did we love the food but the people there are so nice! This place is the best for a quick, delicious dish at a reasonable price with the coolest drink machine you've ever seen! It's become a favorite!

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Girl at the counter helped me pick out my meal. Veg Med sammich and tossed salad. Ratio of bread to stuff was off, too much bread. Also too much cheese on the sammich. Salad was good. I should have just got that. Fast and cheap so i'm happy.

I have really mixed feelings for Noodles & Company. Like Wild Noodles that used to be over off Cool Springs Blvd., I really want to like the noodle places but they just aren't like the noodle houses that we have eaten in when we travel. On first try I had the steak stroganoff. The beef was fairly tasty but the noodles were just off as was the sauce. It had a strange sort of tang to it. The other person in my party ordered the Pesto Cavatappi. It looked nothing like the picture on the menu that was bright spring green from pesto. You could barely see the tiny green flecks and lacked much pesto flavor. And the cavatappi was dry, not enough sauce and again, a strange texture. I think the noodles are precooked or something and it just shows in these dishes. We had noticed that most of the people around us on the first visit had all ordered the Asian noodle dishes. They are on to something. Then I got a coupon for a free bowl complete with the meat. So I got the Japanese Pan Noodles with the naturally raised pork. This dish was good and had a lot of flavor. It didn't seem as dry as the other dishes and the noodles didn't seem to have that off texture. So right now I am still on the fence with this one.

I was excited to see this place pop up recently as I am a fan of noodles of all types... Italian, Thai, American, etc. I've been twice with my husband, and I've been pleased. The food is pretty good... not amazing, but for a quick inexpensive lunch or dinner, it does the trick. The variety of the menu is a plus. I like that there are regular and small portions, so that I don't walk out of there uncomfortably full. If I were comparing the food to nice restaurants with authentic food/menus, I'd give this place 3 stars... but for the type of 'fast food" restaurant it is, it's a very solid choice! I even thought the soup was pretty good that I had. Oh, and the staff there is VERY nice! Usually a manager or owner comes by to ask how everything is, and staff checks on you for drink refills and take your plates. That's a plus for a fast food joint. My only complaint is the fancy soda machine with the touch screen. I'm a straight up Coca Cola chic, and both times, the coke was way off. However, if you'd like diet vanilla grape coke with lime, you can get it! This place will definitely be on our rotation of quick dinners during the week.

i was really excited about trying this place. i had visions of noodles, tofu, pesto, and other yumminess dancing in my head. then, i ordered....a spinach salad with creamy tomato soup and chicken wonton things for an appetizer. the husband ordered a pesto-y with noodles and pork dish. his was awesome...well, the noodles and sauce were, i didn't try the pork...did you know pigs don't sweat, they're filthy animals. i should have ordered an awesome noodle bowl. what i ordered was average, nothing to jump up and down on a couch about, but nothing to mope and complain about. the menu here is healthier with lighter fair, so if you ever find yourself on a miserably hot day, and want a lighter meal, give this place a try, it'll be good. anyhow, it was good, but lately, i've been a bit loose with my 4 star ratings, so i only gave it 3...i don't want to get a reputation and all.

There are some tasty and interesting choices on the menu here, BUT every time I've been (3 total) I've ordered something different each visit---something has been wrong with my order AND it's luke warm to cold. Very disappointing. Usually I get it to go I'll eat a few bites there go back to work and microwave it. Once it is HOT it is so GOOD. Wrong orders: BBQ chicken mac----there was mac and BBQ sauce NO CHICKEN! Had to wait 10 minutes for that. Pad Thai with peanut sauce and chicken---NO PEANUT SAUCE!!!!!!!!!! Truffle Mac----suppose to be mac and cheese with mushrooms and truffle oil---NO MUSHROOMS. and 2 out of the 3 times I've been the ice machine has been broken. they have ice out for you to scoop but it's not covered and it is placed right by the trash can.

Just had a tasty Thai hot pot. It delivered on flavor and the right amount of heat. This is my second visit to this location. Facility is clean and well-maintained. Staff is courteous and professional. Nice menu choices with healthful options. My only complaint was that my to go order equipped me with a spoon only. This particular dish required a fork or chopsticks.

The staff were very friendly and even offered soup samples. I ordered the chicken noodle which tasted great but I'll come back for the tomato basil!

I've loved Noodles & Company ever since I had it for the first time in Fort Collins, CO in 2007. I am so excited they are now in Nashville! I love how the menu has different types of noodles (Italian, Asian & American) so it is easy to please everyones taste-buds if you are with a crowd. The last time I went, my fiance ordered a dish that was too spicy for him and they gladly replaced it with a new one, which is standard policy if you do not like your meal for any reason. We will definitely be returning to Noodles & Company!

Very tasty. Maybe a bit pricey for portions but good, fresh food. Easily taken as to go order if staying at local hotels.

The food was really good, and the staff was *incredibly* friendly and helpful. It has a family friendly, pleasant atmosphere with enough variety for everyone. The kids loved the soda machine, and my only complaint was that the water out of the machine tasted really bad--not sure why. We will definitely come here again, though!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
