I first came to this place was when they started to offer Dim sums. I used go to Asian Palace on summer for Dim Sums, but that place has gone down in term of quality over the years. During first few times, the food was excellent and service was decent. But during recent visits it was disappointing probably due the place is popular now and that they can't keep up with the high traffic flow. Nonetheless, this is still one of the better Chinese Restaurants in the 901 area code. Besides the usual Dim Sums, the Beef Stir Fried Noodles is excellent! As for the interior, it has this odd combination of the yellow and purple. But once you get seated it's very cozy and comfortable. Above all, this is great place for family and friends, they probably just need to hire more workers during rush hours.

Significantly underwhelmed........I got over my initial disappointment that sushi is no longer in the menu, and opted to just get soup and an appetizer. Well, my miso soup was cold - not warm or tepid....cold. I was pressed for time and thought, "It's okay - the crab wonton will make up for it." I didn't realize how wrong I was. I'm a seafood lover, so I don't mind a little bit of a 'fishy' taste. But the 'crab' meat was so strong, it overpowered everything else. The only thing I can compare it to is if someone made fish oil flavored crackers. This is the first poor experience I've had at this establishment, but it was painful enough that I'm not sure I'll return.

I got the Volcano Roll, and Vegetable Fried Rice, everything was amazing. I went after let lunch 2pm, not many people here and I got my food in a good amount of time. You have to try to sushi!!! It's my first time and I'll be back!

I have been really pleased with everything I have tried. The to go ordering os, quick and staff is friendly. I really like this place. I haven't tried the sushi yet. My favorite is the Tom yum seafood noodle soup--Amazing!

It's really a conundrum to understand what Memphians appreciate when it comes to taste and flavor. They can't get enough "Tennessee-Mex" while complaining about authentic Latin food. They'll rave about franchise, big box "Asian-inspired" casual settings and look down their noses at bona fide Asia-Pacific cuisine. They make one trip to Cali and they think they've been to the Far East. Noodles Asian Bistro has two locations in the Memphis area. Bartlett and Germantown. Fresh ingredients and a potpourri of Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai and Japanese. A very delightful blend of Asia's finest. A must-try is the assorted selection of Bubble Tea Smoothies. One sip and you'll downright neglect your daily allowance of kcals. The atmosphere is inviting, clean and the staff is very friendly and attentive. So "y'all" give your taste buds a break from those monotone Mid-South "let's add some pulled pork" menus and give real food a try.

The Viet beef noodle soup was delicious! If there was hoisin sauce there would be 5 stars. Food is great!

OK, this time we made it back at noon on a Sunday. The place was about half full. Food still pretty good, though most of it was lukewarm to cold by the time we got it. The service is still pretty bad. After we sat down, it was 17 minutes (!) before we got our first plate of food. There is no excuse for this in such a small place for cart service dim dum. I've got to blame the layout of this place. It is round (!), ostensibly to remind you of a pagoda. There is a sunken central area, and then a rim of smaller tables on a platform around the outside. In order for the dim sum carts to get up to these tables, the poor ladies have to push them up a pretty steep ramp at the end of the walkway. Understandably, they seemed reluctant to do this. As a result, since we were seated in this outer circle of hell where we could only see the food passing by but could not reach it, we were pretty much ignored. They should forget about the damned carts and just have everybody order off the menu all the time. I would wager people would get their food much quicker and hotter that way. I also think the restaurant has a bit of an identity crisis. Does it cater to American/Asian fusion tastes like its sister in Germantown, or does it want to be an authentic Cantonese resturant? They have seafood tanks in the back like a Cantonese place and an authentic Cantonese chef in the back, but has things like Singapore calamari, Bang Bang chicken, and Strawberry poppy seed chicken salad on its scattershot, rambling menu. By trying to be all things to all people, it is a master of none. The sooner it decides what it wants to be when it grows up, the better.

This place serves dim sum now. Especially on a weekend, they have the dim sum carts comes to your table and you get to pick what you want. The chef is actually is from Hong Kong and he used to cooked for Golden Coast. The taste is authentic and it is harder to get a parking spot on a weekend. This place is full and you know it is good when you see a lot of Asian customers. The owner did a great job hiring the Hong Kong chef.

This place used to be great, but me and my family just had the worst experience ever and ended up having to cancel our order and leave due to the rudeness of the waitress that was pushing a cart of food around and putting food that wasn't part of our order on our table and telling us to try it (none of us even wanted it ) and because she didn't speak English, she didn't understand that we didn't want it and kept insisting we try it, then proceeded to bill us for it after we said no several times. She made it sound like it was free samples before our dinners came. They also no longer have a sushi bar nor do they even offer it. So disappointed. Will never go back. OEC Japanese express in Bartlett is my new home for good sushi and excellent customer service.

Being the Duke of this place and also getting some flack about not having a review for a while, I'm finally writing a review for this place. The reason why it's taken me so long, well... the original Noodles Asian Bistro in Germantown is plain horrible. The flavors are awful; it's either bland or too sweet; and the service is non-existent. But Noodles Asian Bistro in Bartlett is one of the best Chinese restaurants in this area! Service is good and friendly. It has some of the most authentic vegetable quick fries (stirred fried vegetables). It has authentic noodles. Very fresh seafood and lobster. It also has the very best dim sum of this area; although they only have a single competitor, I would say the quality is comparable to places even in St. Louis (no match for Atlanta though). I come here like every weekend now. I don't do that for Asian Palace (the other dim sum place), and this place is way further. I also need to clarify that I've never ordered from the American menu here. I think it's the same menu as Germantown's. Due to that, I can't figure the English name of the quick fry I love. But it's got Chinese Yams, dried radish, and goji berries in it. One thing strange about this place is that I would imagine that this place much like Asian Palace and the late Golden Coast should be packed for lunch on Saturday and Sunday. But it isn't. Do people not know of this place yet? Is this place too far? Or did the food Noodles Asian Bistro served at the original Germantown location just turned people off? In the end, even though I would say this place nearly perfect in terms of their service and the food in the authentic menu, I would have to dock a point for possibly serving that awful food from the American menu, if it's anything like the Germantown location. I just don't get how you can do so awful on the American menu and so good on the Authentic one. Unlike Mulan, another Chinese restaurant in the area with an authentic menu and an American menu, there's nothing on either menus I wouldn't eat. So back to Noodles, I think docking one point is well-deserved. I hope the owner isn't going to hate me now!

Worst Spring Rolls I have ever had. Loosely rolled, mostly lettuce, and higher than anyone else. Never be back. Spring Rolls are BAD, BAD, BAD

Love the service. We came here for dinner and had the best service anyone could want. I have crohn's and am limited to what I can eat while out. When ordering I was told that it was not spicy and that I should try. The dish was way to spicy and had to be sent back. The young man running the restaurant was so great and offered me to make another dish. He told me more about their menu and made suggestions. We will be back and would recommend this restaurant to everyone.

This place serves dim sum! Their selection is a lot better and tastier than Asia Palace. They serve it all day, but only do the carts during prime dim sum hours, the rest of the time you will just order off the menu, but that means they make it fresh for you. They have both steamed and baked goods, and porridge. Everything is very delicious for the limited locations that serve dim sum.

  • W B.

Food is ok but wait time is unacceptable. Do not go for dim sum on weekends and expect to get fed if you are on the upper levels. Wait times for the cart to come are over 20 minutes. When the cart does arrive horde because you'll only get visited once. Service is also slow and inattentive.

I like the dim sum here, but not the dinner. I eat home-made Chinese food basically on a daily basis, but Noodles Asian Bistro is not some really good dinner place for Chinese. But I like the dim sum. Their dim sum is good. You should go try it!

  • Melanie L.

Pretty good dim sum especially their congee and sesame balls. Nice shu Mai served hot and steamed well. The setup is strange as they have the carts but it's a split level restaurant. Both times we visited the cart never made it to us and we ended up ordering from our server. The location and interior is fine and the restrooms are very clean much nicer than Asian Palace. I would like to try different items and try the regular menu sometime. I was glad to see it was busy for Chinese New Year!

This is the first time I had dim sum in Memphis. Don't be fooled: this is as authentic as you can get. I compared this place to typical establishments in Boston, and NYC Chinatowns. Overall, this place is quite good, both in service and food quality. Place is very clean and staff is friendly, well versed in English and various Chinese languages. Notables: - large serving for dim sum - wide selection, more than just typical hargow, siumai, and steam buns. - their congee is very good, with finely shredded pork instead of chunky ones - vary good pickled radish (condiments to some dishes) - the best roast pork (not the reddish BBQ charsiu 叉烧 , but the plain rotated suckling pig called siuyuk 烧肉 or foryuk 火肉) I've had. - tofu-skin wrap is a must-have - chicken feet are meaty and tender - their sweet dishes, especially the egg tarts and peanut/sugar filled sesame balls can take on any reputable Chinese tea houses in Manhattan, Flushing, or Boston anytime. Next time you're hungry for a taste of the Far East in this part of the country, go no further than this place.

It took 3 visits for me to find an entree that I like. My husband loves their dim sum and says it is excellent. This is why we keep going back. I also love their egg tarts and red bean sesame balls. They are great! On our first visit I got shrimp fried rice and it was way too salty. On the second visit, I got pad thai, which I did not like either. This third visit I got the hibachi sirloin steak with a spring roll, miso soup, salad, vegetables, and fried rice. It was pretty good. The service is good but very slow.

I really enjoy the food here. The service is always good and so is the food. I like getting the Ichiban roll with avocado on top instead of salmon, which turns out delicious every time. I've never had a disappointing meal here, although the water taste very funny, but nothing to complain about. Nice lunch spot if your in the area, and the fact they have a drive thru is pretty clutch, but I enjoy sitting in for lunch.

Service is slow but friendly (I just advise not going if you are on a short lunch break); they seemed slightly understaffed. Bubble tea smoothies didn't have any visible bubbles in them, to my disappointment. My daughter's chai tea smoothie was GREAT. My mango-pineapple-coconut smoothie didn't have any discernible coconut taste in it. Thai coconut curry with tofu was delicious. Portions are generously sized. Decor is crisp and modern with an Asian feel, and seating was comfortable. Reasonably priced.

Large portions. Good food (mostly).Good service. The dynamite shrimp had so much horseradish that it was inedible. Yuck.

The service was friendly, the inside was clean and newly redecorated. I ordered the honey seared chicken and fried rice. The fried rice was bland and tasteless, but edible, it needed a little more soy sauce and seasoning. The chicken was not seared-it was like tyson frozen nuggets-with breading and not crisp breading-and the sauce was a very thick sweet sauce that probably came from a container. Honey seared chicken would be seared without breading with a little honey added to the chicken without covering everything-it had a good variety of vegetables. They need to try the seared chicken at pei wei. It is delicious. I would never order this dish again. My friend order Pad Thai and it was almost totally noodles with only a couple of carrot slivers in it instead of other vegetables. The noodles had been in the broth so long they had aborbed the broth. It was served on a plate instead of a bowl so you really didn't get any broth. She will not order it again. This was on a Thursday about 5:30PM and maybe they have a different chef other times, but these dishes left a lot to be desired.

We enjoyed the lunch sushi special. I loved the ginger salad, what a great dressing flavor. Yummy crunchy crab rolls. I also enjoyed the miso soup, it was delicious. We will be back for sure.

This place has great dim sum tastes. Shumai, red bean sesame balls, and egg tart were very good and very tasty. This is the only place in Memphis that I am aware of that serve good authentic dim sum. The bubble was also good. The service was rediciously awesome. One of the server was so like my grandma that she actually recommended a lot of good food. Will be back for soon when dim sum crave kick in.

Went there on Saturday lunch for dim sum. It wasn't very crowded and the food is fairly decent. My only complaints is that the foods from the carts are lukewarm and it takes a while for the carts to get around to you. I didn't try any of the menu food but the dim sum is good. I just hope the quality doesn't degrade over time.

Coming from Los Angeles, it was really hard for me to find good dim sum. This place was recommended to me by a friend and I was pleasant surprised and impressed. The selection is decent and quality was pretty good. We got the shu mai, har gow, shrimp shu mai, sticky rice with chicken in leaf wrap, bean curd roll, egg tart, herbal dessert jelly, daikon cake, and sesame ball. They were all very good except for the water served. It had a funny taste and I could taste it in the jelly. I would still come back and try more. All those dishes was $36 and it fed 4 people. We were happy, jolly and content after.

I have not been inside this Noodles location, but I have gone through the drive thru. It was quick and they gave me everything i needed from sauce to a fortune cookie. Great place for a quick lunch break!

First visit. Really love the architecture. We went on a Thursday afternoon, around 3. I believe we were the only ones there. I ordered the Rainbow Roll & Chicken Lo Mein, husband had the Combo Pad Thai Mild, & we split the pan fried dumplings. The dumplings were very good, not greasy like most pan fried dumplings. The sauce was very flavorful. My only problem with them was that they were served on a bed of brown, shredded lettuce. It would have looked better & cleaner to just serve them straight on the plate with a sprinkle of fresh parsley, rather than a whole sprig. The Rainbow Roll was absolutely beautiful & tasted just as great. The fish on top (Salmon, Tuna, Shrimp, & Yellow Tail) was very fresh & cut thicker than most, which I love. The rice was cooked & seasoned perfectly. The spicy sauce on top wasn't mayonnaise-ey like most places. Very flavorful & spicy. I was pretty full by the time the Chicken Lo Mein came but I still tasted it (& took it home of course!). The snow peas still had the perfect crunch, chicken was cooked through & tender. Husband said his Pad Thai was the best he'd had but that it was a tad sweet. The Pad Thai comes in Mild & Hot, so if you're looking for some heat, we recommend ordering it hot. The spring rolls that came with our entrees were pretty good. We asked if they were hand rolled, which they are not, but they are still pretty good. The sweet & sour sauce served with it could be a tad less sweeter. The only reason I am leaving off a star is because the front waiting area floor was VERY dirty & sticky & the room had a very odd smell. Not very strong, but noticeable. With as slow as it was, the Hostess/Server had enough time to mop it. Also, the special menu with the neon marker could be a little more creative. Overall, awesome Asian restaurant when you want something other than the typical take-out. PS, there is a drive-thru but do not expect McDonalds speed. This doesn't take away from the restaurant. In fact, having a drive-thru makes it better. Our server said you can call in an order & pick it up at the drive-thru. Love that.

So I wandered in to Noodles with some coworkers but had sadly read the reviews for Noodle Star just across the road... The service was poor and the food was mediocre. One of the bigger disappointments was both with my Pad Thai (excessively large but also amazingly bland) using a completely non-authentic noodle and my coworker's Pho which lacked in all shapes and sizes and ironically also used a completely incorrect noodle. I've eaten my fair share of both to know. Would fixing these issues be worth another try? Not a chance. The place just lacked in ambiance in a way that was just half-way to nowhere and the smell of cleaning solutions didn't help our meal. Keep trying...

This place is mile above Asian Palace based on the customer service alone then you add in the dim sum, sushi & all the other delicious food they serve...you'll be saying "Asian Palace who??" We order several different plates of dim sum, all were wonderful. The volcano roll was unique & delicious & so was the lettuce wrap & bang bang chicken. We will be visiting often!

I love small business. I really do. But this place is killing me inside, and not just with too much salt. Seriously, my boyfriend could not even choke down the Japanese style noodle dish he ordered. I had the Miso soup, spring rolls (the fried kind), and rice. The Miso was some of the worst Miso I have ever had, which was baffling, because Miso is not easy to screw up. I mean, seriously, just put the Miso in the pot, add water, and stir. So how it came out tasting like this is beyond me. The only redeeming portion of this meal was the spring rolls. These were average, slightly overpriced, but good. Not as good as the ones at Bangkok Alley, or course, but not bad. The killer for me should've been when I saw that this place serves Japanese, Thai, Chinese, Korean, and who knows what else on the same menu. This is a recipe for crappy food. It's what I like to call "White people Asian." It's the sort of food that you might enjoy if you've never had real Asian food and you can't distinguish Japanese from Chinese. The sort of Asian that you can only love if you don't know what you're missing. If I ever get stuck here again, I will order nothing but spring rolls. The rice wasn't even good, and didn't taste like it came from a rice cooker. Such a disappointment. If you've got any sort of distinguishing palette for Asian cuisine, you probably want to steer clear of this place.

Nice food! The atmosphere is great. I love their happy hour specials. Although the last few times, the quality hasn't been as good as when it had its grand openeing, I still look forward to trying new dishes.

Recently visited this place and was pleasantly surprised. The service was great, the staff is super friendly, and the food was tasty. Looking foreword to trying this place again. I hear their bubble tea is pretty great as well!

Meh - the cool architecture does not make up for the sub-par food. Kind of tasteless and greasy. Maybe an off day, but there were four in our party that were equally unimpressed. There are plenty better Asian joints close by - I will certainly forego Noodles for one of them in the future :/

Pad Thai Shrimp was pretty good. HUGE portion with lots of juicy shrimp. Spring rolls were OK, would have preferred a good "ole egg roll(not on menu??). Ordered to go. I'll be back.

Food was alright but the service was absolutely horrible! Took forever to get our drinks and food was even longer. Would advise to check out the parking lot first. If over half full, you may be there a good while. Four tables around us gave up and left prior to even having drink order taken.

I'm a fan! The service was actually great, and the food was pretty good as well. The only draw back was the presentation of my main dish. I got the Noodles Special roll to start, it was delicious, high quality sushi and extremely flavorful. The spring roll taht came with my main dish was tasty and fresh. The Chicken Pad Thai, however looked like Ramen Noodles. Everything was the same color. The chicken blended in with the noodles with the bean sprouts, with the peanuts. It just looked bland! The flavor was great and it was a huge portion, but it looked like a great big bowl of nothingness. It could have used some more chicken as well, or I may have missed it because it blended in with everything else. Overall, I'd definitely go back.

We called in an order and picked up a to-go order in the drive thru. It was ready when expected and got it home for dinner. The food had great taste and was very satisfying. We will be back for sure!

I've been here twice now and I have been both impressed and horribly let down. My first time, I went for lunch with my father and we split a caterpillar roll while I had Singapore street noodles and he had the chow fun. Sushi was above average and both of our meals were very good. Service was decent as well. I brought friends back for dinner and it was a completely different experience. Three people got pad Thai and said it was good, I personally did not like it that much. I had the chow fun as I liked it before but it was pretty terrible this time. My friend's chicken with snow peas was dreadful. They somehow managed to remove even the natural flavor of the chicken from the dish. I had a 4-5 star experience and a 1 star experience. What will I get if I go back? I don't think they will be going back. I might chance it, but not likely. I'll just drive a bit and go to Bhan Thai which is consistently head a shoulders better.

Great food-nicely presented- fresh & tasty -and a lot of it. Very pleasant updated decor, & we had an efficient, knowledgeable & FUN server. I had shrimp & asparagus dish (#C6)...good size shrimp & with red peppers too-YUM. Hubby got (#P12) Thai Sweet & Spicy Chicken...kinda spicy but not too much...so flavorful! So much food we took some home. Just look for Bartlett's landmark round asian building.
