It's not often that you find chicken adobe.... But when you do, and it's good, you write the review! This was a great restaurant, and we just moved here..... Leaving our favored Mexican joint behind! So glad to have a good one in the new neighborhood :)

Pretty standard Mexican food. I enjoyed my meal and would be willing to go back. Nothing was outstanding, but nothing was terrible. Be aware that the salsa comes in mild and hot. We weren't asked which we preferred and were given the hot... which is really hot with little flavor. I don't really care for burn just for the sake of burn, so... I would ask for mild to see if it is better.

See my photos to really sum up my visit. Between the dirty plates dropped on my daughters child seat and the inedible soupy taco salad, I am unlikely to return. The staff were fairly pleasant, but there are about a half-dozen similarly priced Mexican places nearby that are much better. Check out Abuelo's, On the Border, El Porton or any of the others before this place.

The carnitas Diabla is the best I have had in a long time. Close to home and great food and amazing lunch prices.

I have been to this location many time over the past few years since I live around the corner, decent food but the service is always questionable. This past weekend was our last trip. After receiving chips, salsa and our drink order our waiter disappeared into the back. Around15 minutes later the hostess asked us to move to another table to make room for a large group. We did so and asked her to get our waiter to take our order. @20 minutes later still no order taken for us, but we see him come from the back to deal with the large groups orders. So we talked to the manager about the issue and all he said was sorry and that he could not do anything. We cashed our our tab and went to El Nopal down the street, got great service at that restaurant, so it will now be our only go to place for mexican food.

My wife and I dropped by with our 2 yr old for dinner during our pass thru Memphis, TN. The food was nothing special, the waitstaff was inattentive, and the decor was the typical tacky tex-mex look. I can't think of any reason to recommend this joint to anyone else. Rock chalk.

I eat mexican food probably twice a week and this is one of the best spots... I usually get the grilled garlic shrimp which is excellent and their cheese dip is great. It's good food for a good price and there is never a long wait

The food was really good and the servers were nice! I took off one star because we had to wait a while fir or food and my order was not right.

We go here about once a week, sometimes twice. Great Mexican food in a great environment. Service is fast and is good food at a great price. Also love the one on Germantown, but this is closer to home (at the Berryhill/Hwy 64/Stonebridge area). Not sure why the address is Arlington, as they are located in the Stonebridge/Berryhill/Wolfchase area, down the road from Countrywood off of Hwy 64.

We ate here last night. There was nothing particularly wrong with the restaurant, but there was nothing particularly right, either. (Except that it's super close to our house.) The chips and salsa were fine, the margaritas were made with (a decent-tasting) sour mix, and everything else was your typical, "We ordered this with a number" type Mexican food. I did try a tamale, to get away from the meat/cheese/beans portion of the menu, but it was covered in a flavorless chili sauce, there was WAY too much masa for the size of the tamale, and while I'm assuming that the filling was shredded pork, there was no flavor to prove this. I think we'll keep looking for our new favorite Mexican spot, this isn't it.

Eat here about once a week. Thin chips. Good outdoor seating that is in the shade most afternoons.

El Mezcal off Hwy 64 rocks. While observing Lint I took time to try a new place for some fish and boy was I pleasantly surprised. You get the traditional chips and salsa to start off, and my kids always have to have cheese dip too. The salsa is blended more therefore no so chunky like other Mexican places. It also packs a punch with the heat, so if your one of those light weights that needs a drink before digging into the chips, I advise waiting for your drink or just the cheese dip. I had the Cameron Vera Cruz with Grilled Pineapple over a bed of Spanish rice. Darn Good Stuff. The rice is very light, fragrant (smells good) and not sticky in the slightest bit. The dish came with at least a dozen medium sized shrimp that I fell confident...dare I say, "Fresh" because they actually tasted like shrimp and not a chewy piece of rubber. I added some of the salsa that really complemented the sweetness of the grilled pineapple. Service was very attentive to everyone's drinks and we even got special treatment for my son's birthday with some of the best Mexican caramel sauce topped flan I've had outside of Mexico. Spoiler alert...Spoiler alert...."they sing happy birthday in Spanish just before someone sneaks up from behind to smear cool whip in the birthday boys face.... Nice, but make sure to have your cameras at the ready or you'll miss that special moment.

I am somewhat suspicious of strip mall restaurants. Maybe it was a bad experience with a pizza place involving a mouse (coughJohnnyBruscoscough).....Anywho, after seeing a few reviews of this place, which is literally a stone's throw from our house, I put my foot down and demanded we try it. (It wasn't nearly as dramatic of a scene as that may sound). It was wonderful! Service is what it is for a Mexican restaurant. The food was better than most. Thank you, Lakeland Yelpers, for saving me the trip down G'town Pkwy for a Mexican fix!!!!!!!!!!!

Pretty much the same 'ole Memphis "Mexican" establishment. The only reason we frequent here is because it is right around the corner from the crib and we have gotten to know the staff over the years. There is also a nice little outdoor seating area that is great for days like today! There is never really a crowd which means you can get in and out in a hurry.

We have been eating with El Mezcal chain since I was pregnant with our now 14 year old daughter! I'm sure we have been to every one of them in and around Memphis. This is my favorite location, not just because it is near, we have 3 that we are in decent distance too, but they are always consistent, has the best intimate feel out of all of them, and we love TE outdoor patio when the weather is nice. I can tell you for 14 years my husband and I always get the sizzling beef fajita that has an authentic seasoned taste to it that we have found no where else. My husband also enjoys the chicken soft tacos. I love the salsa and it is hot. Our three kids are crazy for the white cheese dip, which again has that something we can't find anywhere else. I do wish they were more kid friendly but its a restaurant so not much you can do there. This restaurant will be a great memory to our family. Too many dinners and birthday dinners spent here.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
