Healthy Meal suggestions for Cracker Barrel

Love this Cracker Barrel - we always stop here before we head to the Smokies. Really enjoy the service here - have never had a bad experience and we're able to get in and out of the restaurant pretty quickly (which is awesome)!

Came in for an early dinner..got seated right away. Got what seems to be a nice waitress, she took our order and brought our salads out promptly. Lettuce was very limp and wilted. Ugh! Sent it back..now I can see my meal coming out the same time as my salad. (This is frustrating) so far, things are not going too good here as they are not busy at all. Food surprisingly came out good. The potatoes were dry but overall.....good.

Yet another Cracker Barrel. Same experience as all the others. :)

The one saving factor about our experience today was the waitress. She was attentive and friendly and kept out coffee cups filled. However our food left much to be desired. My husband's pancakes were lukewarm and tough. None of our food was hot and our sausage was tough and chewy. This will be our last visit at this location. The food was so bad we would have sent it back if we hadn't been under time constraints

Wife and I went for anniversary dinner food was ok but our waitress was as useless as a garden hose on a forest fire we each had the sampler and the hashbrown casserole was cold but I dare not send it back cause they are liable to do something to it overall I am leery about goin back

In general, we are always pretty happy with the meals we have here. The haddock dinner is very good and breakfasts here are well cooked with generous portions. The pancakes are exceptional. The sweet tea is good and the coffee is above average, almost always freshly brewed. We go fairly often and that in itself speaks to their consistency of food and service. On a recent trip, we did have a young waitress who seemed bored and very slack in her serving of us, but this is not the norm here. It is often crowded with a waiting line to be served, but we have never had to wait too long, either for seating or for our food. I would venture to say [and this is rather sad] it is the best home cooking in Maryville.......unless you come to my house !! :)

I ordered a to-go order but when I went to pay I noticed the order was rang incorrectly. I advised the cashier and she promptly called to the manager. The manger was nice enough to come out and let me know it would be a few extra minutes for my food to be recooked. They ended up recooking my entire order to be fresh. The manager also offered me a drink and a free dessert. I really appreciate the effort was made to make up for the mix up.

So after waiting for what seemed like forever to place our order, we finally started seeing our food brought out. I should have known that something was a miss when we were told that an extra piece of fish would cost us almost $5! Party of ten, and I'm the only one without food. Yes, a plate was brought out but it was so messed up with the wrong food items I sent it back. It shouldn't had been that difficult, a single piece of fish, sweet potato and fried apples. The only thing right was the fish, the apples were brought with everyone else's meals but only by mistake. You would have thought I ordered the largest thing on the menu for the wait I was about to endure. While I waited on what I thought in my mind was going to be a baked sweet potato and snacked on my cold fish and apples, I seen in a white fog in slow motion coming my way, my sweet potato. As the waitress sat it down in front of me.... I almost looked under the table and around the room to see if this was all a joke. Everyone had finished their food by this time but me. Let me try to explain to you the size of this potato. Normally sweet potatoes are of the large size, taking up most of the plate when served. This one that they brought out was about the same size as a kiwi fruit. I literally took two bites and was finished eating it. Not because it wasn't good, but because there was no more. Seeing that this is a chain and that the food is for the most part, not fresh and plated by photos, this experience was horrible. I will probably go back but I will be very hesitant on what I order. Maybe next time I'll just stick with biscuits, gravy and an egg with bacon.

We will never waist our money at another Cracker Barrel. My wifeI just attempted to get a seat at this location and where informed by the hostess, that they will not place us on a wait list for a table for 2 people. All tables are use for the large crowds arriving from church. I am sorry that it is just the 2 interesting. Simple decision we will not eat at another Cracker Barrel anywhere.

Came for lunch. Had the special. It tasted great. Upheld my expectations on a Cracker Barrel.

Like this place a lot. It's just always really busy at this location. I get the sampler that has the ham, meat loaf, and chicken dumplings. I've never had any complaints about the food.

I have eaten in Crackle Barrels from coast to coast, and the food, ambiance, and service has always been perfect. It is also fun to shop in the stores.

Cracker Barrel is way underrated and has perhaps the best breakfast menu around. The parking lot here is always packed full of cars, and for good reason too, it has one of the best breakfast menus around. This place is also near some great shopping and a Marble Slab ice cream store is nearby too so it's almost lethal in the great flavors department. The Cracker Barrel store is chock full of great country items too and there is a good 45 minutes to waste in the store perusing the goods alone, they also sell a lot of great toys and blankets too which gives a place like Cracker Barrel good marks because it's more than just a restaurant . It's a store too, with a lot of great and quirky items for sale at decent prices. The food is the star here too because you will be hard pressed to find a better breakfast menu anywhere. They also have a wonderful store that has great sales during holiday months. That being said, the food here is well made with great produce and you will not be disappointed for the price. A must visit for anyone seeking good food at at a great price.

The food was very good. I ordered the chicken & dumplings platter with corn, mashed potatoes, and fried okra. Our waitress was very attentive. The only thing I didn't like was the throng of people just standing in the way making it impossible to walk to our seat. Maybe Friday evening is not a good time to go.
