Still a nice FATZ! Since my last visit eating here on 7/27/2015, it was not very busy, thus I got some of the fastest service ever! Please excuse me if I misspelled her name, but please ask for "Rheanna". She was amazing! Even ensured us to be safe on the way home! I got me a "Calabash Combo". Basically, this is a big platter with FATZ' famous "Calabash Chicken" and popcorn shrimp. Had that along with some fries. What can I say more about calabash chicken? It's a Southern tradition. And then the popcorn shrimp was tasty... even tastier if you dip it in marinara sauce. I highly recommend going to this FATZ if you are in the area and want to take your family out to eat, or maybe if you've got a date. It's nice service, especially when it's not on the weekends. :)

Was here with an infant and it seemed they had a section for noisy little ones which was nice. Service was very good and attentive. Food was awesome. Even gave a military discount. All in all would recommend to anyone and will repeat!

Exceptional service. We usually stop here on our way down to Hilton Head from Chicago. Today was different because we got Elijah as our waiter. He did an excellent job of accommodating to our needs and our drinks were always full. He gave us that feeling of warm southern hospitality that we hear about so often. If you can, ask for Elijah as your server.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with that southern hospitality that has become so warmly welcomed during our stay out here. The server found out we were from out of state and promptly brought us a complimentary sampler of their calabash chicken. It is so good! And of course I had to try their fried green tomatoes and grits. They were so kind to find out the grits preparation for me, since I don't eat red meat or pork (and apparently many places out here prepare them with bacon grease). Food was good, service was very hospi

We were frustrated because first they forgot to put the ground beef on nachos, then theyforgot the chicken on the chicken ceasar salad. If they had not forgotten that, the food would have been great. Other than those things we enjoyed our meals.

The rib & chicken plate at Fatz is amazing. And affordably priced at less than $10. Always seem to get great service.

Great sweet tea and sppetizer of fried green tomatos are good also. Had their chicken strips and ribs the strips were ok nothing too incredible the ribs seemed cheap and dry.

No, just no! Grew up in the area & was in the mood for Fatz famous Poppy Seed Rolls & Calabash shrimp. Our waitress was ok not great just ok. Bad sign #1 - after placing our we were brought 3 rolls for 2 people, not really a prob - however our waitress asked if we wanted more yes please was the reply & we were told as soon as they come out I will bring them to you. The table across from us got refilled rolls we did not. Bad sign #2 - The s/o orders a burger the waitress comes by & says we are waiting on the well-done burger & your food will be right out. I ordered Calabash Shrimp in other parts of the world known as popcorn shrimp which take all of a few minutes to cook which meant my food was under a heat lamp while awaiting the burger to finish. Sure enough my food was delivered with a very warm plate & luke warm shrimp. Bad sign #3 - Manager stops by & ask if every thing is ok, I explain my entree was not hot & she takes it away & magically reappears a few minutes later with a different plate & my now microwave heated shrimp. No bueno! Bad sign #4 - To drink I ordered an Arnold Palmer (or Uptown) depending where you hail from. Which is 1/2 tea & 1/2 lemonade ....the waitress refills with just tea leaves a small amount of room for the lemonade portion of the drink. Again - No Bueno! Bad sign #5 - Our waitress comes back to the table to deliver my remade Calabash Shrimp, no wait I thought the manager took care of this you say -- nope this reconfirmed that my dish was simply popped into the MICROWAVE when I sent it back. The experience was so bad the manager comps our meal without us even asking. How was the burger you ask?-- uuuuummm not well done as ordered. Let's not even discuss how our food came ridiculously slow. Overall never again, this location sucked rocks. Oops didn't mention the lovely plantation cotton field art work that over looked our table, epic failure all around.

I'm highly upset over my visit tonight. My husband and I decided to take our daughter to Fatz for dinner since we had been running errands all day. The Fatz that we went to is around 60 miles away from our house. When we arrived, the host seated us with three adult menus. That was okay because my daughter can already read the adult menus and could probably eat an adult sized entree. We asked for a kids menu and he brought it back to us. I told my husband what I wanted to drink and my daughter did the same and she and I went to the ladies room. When we came back, a few minutes had passed by and the waitress popped up to ask if we were ready to order. I was not because I had to figure out what my daughter wanted to eat. So I asked her to give us a minute. She left and came back a few minutes later and I asked for another minute or two. She came back and took our order and left quickly and brought back some rolls. She did a really good job, even though my experience was not a good one. Our drinks were always full and she gave us plenty of rolls. We ordered firecracker sticks and when they came to us, they were luke warm and my first bite was cold. Before our server could walk away she heard me say, "ugh, they're cold" and whisked them off to be remade. The manager came out and told me "good job" for letting him know that the appetizer was cold and that he would have another one sent out that was piping hot. He was right...When they came back out, they were piping hot as well as soggy. They had to have been microwaved. My husband and I ate one and left them to the side. Before I continue I should say that all my daughter ordered was a cup of soup and a salad, so naturally her food should have come out first. One because she is a child and two because it was just a damn cup of soup and side salad! No...Her food came out last and we had to ask for it. They brought it to us and as soon as I looked at my plate, I realized that they put a ton of gravy on some bread and put less than half of a portion of pot roast on top. I got the open faced pot roast sandwich by the way. I showed my husband and he told me to tell the mamager. The waitress popped up and I told her it wasn't right to charge me $9 for gravy and some mashed potatoes. She told me she didn't make the prices but that she would get the manager. I asked her to take the plate because at that point, I was done with the kitchen screw ups and I didn't want anything else. I mentioned being a Yelper and I told her that I wasn't happy with our whole visit. She didn't seem to care, which why would she? The manager showed up a few minutes later and I told him about the pot roast and the firecracker sticks. He said that the appetizer was his favorite but I mentioned what it said in the menu about how they are fried and crispy. Neither one of the remakes were crispy. I told him I thought they were microwaved and he looked at me funny but said that he would take them off our bill. I told him that he may not agree with how I feel but I was done for the night and just wanted my family to eat so we could make the long drive home. He asked if I wanted something else and I said no a few times. He then said, "hold on, I'm going to blow you away..." and ran off to the kitchen. My husband and I just looked at each other and I watched my husband and daughter eat. About 10 minutes later, the manager came out with a new plate that had a pot roast sandwich on it with enough pot roast to feed two people. I told him thank you but that I didn't want it. He told me even if I took it home, he would feel better because he was there to serve us. I took a few bites when he left and got a to go box like he told me I could do since my family was already done eating. When we got the bill, THE MANAGER CHARGED ME FOR THE DAMN POTROAST SANDWICH THAT I DIDN'T WANT TO BEGIN WITH! I wasn't the one that paid the bill so I didn't know this until I got in the car but I am so angry. I'm calling the corporate office on Monday for this nonsense. The manager took the firecracker sticks off the bill but left the rest. This is insane. I want my money back and I promise everyone on Yelp that I will not be back to Fatz Cafe.

Over all not too bad! Excellent Service, and sweet tea! Their Fried Chicken was the best of all we sampled. Rest of the food was good.

They offer gluten free items but it's not for those with serious gluten intolerance or celiac disease. I was contaminated and got very sick from eating here from gluten exposure.
