Delicious food, cool atmosphere. Wednesday is $2 pint night, drink all you wish! Service was slow but super friendly this evening.

Not sure about those who say they don't have good service, but they must have made some changes to the wait staff. Our server was attentive. My wife and I shared a meal and dessert they brought both out already split! Who does that? I haven't been to a restaurant that did that for us in a long time. It really was a nice relaxing atmosphere and experience. The steak was cooked and seasoned to perfection. They have a large variety of beers on tap as well.

One of the most underrated lunch spots in downtown. They have a great lunch menu with meat and veggies type of selection. Those that are skeptical, walk in and try it, you might get hooked and make this spot a regular lunch stop like we did.

The food was good. I had the house meatloaf and it was hot and had good flavor. Green beans were canned but tasted good and hot. The service was good and overall I would come back to this place to try the Shepherds Pie. Check it out!

Been here at least a dozen times over the past year and haven't been let down yet. Food is really good, affordable, and delicious, the Beer is cold, the draft selection is great (about 30 beers on tap and dozens in bottles), wed is $2 pint night, and they also have a good selection of brown liquor.

Family and I had lunch here while apartment hunting, as my dad is a fan of anything Irish and my mom wanted to catch the OSU basketball game. Delaney's is located in downtown Spartanburg, which is really cute and appealing for a small city. The inside is typical Irish decor but it was clean, nicely lit, and was not too busy so not noisy. I ordered a pale ale but can't remember which, but it was good. Both my mom and I ordered their version of the french dip, which came out somewhat slow but still tasted good. Ended up only eating half the sandwich and fries. As I'll be working in Spartanburg, it's likely I'll stop by again.

Go there all the time. At least once a week. Excellent service and prices. 2 dollar pint nights on Wednesdays. Never have to wait to get served! A++++

I really like Delaney's! I like it way more since they have done some remodeling and since you can't smoke in there anymore! We used to go on pint night when all the "college kids" were there - extremely crowded and completely smoke filled. Luckily the restaurants in Spartanburg are smoke free now so you don't have to worry about that. But the food is good, beer is good, service is usually pretty good.

Really love the wings and sweet potato waffle fries. There's almost always a band at this place! choose somewhere else if you're in a hurry because it can be slow if busy

Decent drinks with an almost decent vibe. The music there varies from interesting to kinda painful...Too crowded for my taste and what is it about people bringing their children into a pub at 8:30pm? Something about it doesn't seem right in my opinion but who am I to judge?

I can't believe I've not visited this Pub before now! We went early on a quiet, slightly rainy Friday night, was greeted at the door and shown to a table quickly. Our pints arrived in a timely fashion, properly poured and as I'm rather picky about my Guinness this is important to me. The menu was uninspired to say the least, typical pseudo-Irish pub grub so I wasn't surprised by the lack of imagination but I was surprised at how good the food was. I had fish & chips thinking it's pretty hard to screw that up unless of course you're at the Pig and Whistle English Pub in Cocoa Beach FL! Very generous portions, the fish was excellent, the beer batter was light and didn't overpower the delicate flavor of the fish. My husband had the bangers and mash which he asked me to try for a comparison to the bangers and mash sampler I had at Meg O'Malley's... I hate to say this but Delaney's bangers were more authentic in their flavor profile than Meg O'Malley's. My only complaint is our server asked my husband if he would like another pint and he declined to which she promptly turned around and walked off... she never asked me if I would like another... and yes I would have.

Had a great meal and drinks here with friends. The fish and chips were terrific. The drinks weren't burned and the Guinness was perfectly poured. I'd come back here again. The music was ok and the crowd was small on a thursday night. For the first night in town this was good.

So I had a beer and their irish whiskey steak (med rare) with green beans and mashed potatoes. The was good not great but very good. The sides were very good too. Bartender was a really nice guy that made you feel welcomed. My only dislike was the beer wasn't that cold. But I would go back and recommend to friends.

Love the fish and chips! Reuben is always great as well. Nice lunch atmosphere, gets crowded and loud at night toward the end of the week. One of my favorite spots downtown.

Must be a college trash magnet buried under this place.

  • Mark C.

The shame of it all that is that the location, building, and the beer were good. The downside is that the bartender we had was dishonest. My girlfriend and I each had two beers at the bar, and we paid for each round of drinks as they were served. We did not run a tab, but when I ordered another beer for myself, the red headed male bartender said I need to pay my tab. He insulted us, and basically made an ass of himself. There are no tabs at this bar without a credit card , which is why I know I paid him for each round. Sad to see a local bar from my hometown employ such dishonest people. We will not be back. Don't waste your time here unless you are an underage college student.

I love this place. Used to go when it was Rockers and I really like what they did to the place when they converted it to Delany's. The staff was great and I really enjoyed going there to hang out and have a couple beers with friends. I have been a regular ever since. Unfortunately after moving to Chicago, it makes it tough to just drop in and have a cold one. However, every time I go back to Sptg. I make it a point to stop in and say hi and catch up. Some folks ma not like the more laid back atmosphere, but it's just what the doctor ordered after a long day at work. Cheers!

Loved it! I was going through town to get to Asheville and decided to stop in. I have always loved the Delaney's in Columbia so we wanted to give this one a try. The food was great, the portion was just the right size and the waitress was nice! I reccomend you get the Mac&Chz as a side----it was sooo good! Yum!

While this place may be ok for hanging out and drinking a beer, don't make the same mistake I did and assume that you can get a decent meal here. The food was awful and our waitress was pretty spaced out - though on our way out, she apologized... apparently her husband had been rushed to the emergency room with a staph infection. What do you expect in Spartanburg?

  • Leena D.

    Good beer, meh food.

  • Eric W.

I've been here numerous times as my girlfriend lives in Spartanburg. They have live music on some nights. It's mainly a younger crowd, but it's not a bad place to grab a beer. I've had some of the food here, and none of it was terrible. Typical bar food. They don't have a whole lot of 'Irish' food, so don't come here for that. The Shepherd's Pie was ok. Shrimp app ok. Gets very crowded on the weekends. They have some good beers on tap (Guinness, Stella) and a small selection of single malts.

  • Kenneth B.

Delaney's is a usually a safe bet. Decent selection of local, regional, import drafts. Decent pub food. Decent people. Decent prices. Decent live music. Not too loud to talk. It is a casual, fun atmosphere. Usually NOT way too crowded, but plenty of action going on. Nestled in the center of town, right on the square, plenty of parking on the street and in free garages nearby. Nice plaza with fountains right outside. It's about as good as it gets in Spartanburg.
