The restaurant's name is simple, but it says all which is expected. Great food, sincere personnel and value. Obviously the kitchen prides itself on what it presents. Though a casual setting, I would not hesitate in using this location for a more formal occasion. Thank you for being part of our community.

Don't be fooled by the dark exterior -- this place has great service (take out in less than 10 minutes) and a decent lunch special. For under $8 I got spicy chicken pad thai and a great salad. The chicken pad thai has chunks peanuts, tasty tofu scattered throughout, and a not too oily peanut sauce. I can't wait to go back and try more specials!

Don't be scared of the outside. This place has great food. The inside is outdated but clean. A great place for lunch or pick-up.

Food is a 5 Star. Their Pad Thai was delicious. My wife had their Pad Veggie and substituted rice noodles for rice and was very pleased. I will admit that when you pull into the parking lot you will not get the feeling that this will be a great place. But, once you are inside that all changes.

Don't let the outside fool you.... Because this has got to be the best Thai restaurant in Greenville. The pad Thai is to die for. Great variety of choices...from sweet to spicy. Always friendly staff... Definitely do not pass by this place

The outside of the building is a little off putting but the food is great. It is REAL northern Thai food. Generous portions for a great price as well.

Awesome food! As other reviewers have pointed out, do not let the exterior fool you. This is a favorite lunch destination for the guys at work. The lunch specials are excellent and affordable. Services times can be long, so either plan for a long lunch or get there before noon.

Iama Critic Rating - Thai Restaurant - 3 Stars 3012 Augusta Street, Greenville, SC Our Experience: With eighteen Yelp reviews averaging over four stars it is obvious that people love Thai Restaurant. And we too have been to Thai Restaurant on occasions when we would have given four stars to our experience, but on the night of our review, it simply wasn't the four star experience we had hope to document and photograph. This strip mall restaurant is definitely trying to be an upper scale restaurant and the decor and prices reflect this effort. The prices are slightly above the average by a dollar or two, but the quality and flavor are also better than average. So depending on what you order you could have a three or four star experience. Thai Restaurant is sort of like its rather in-distinctive name, it is not the best Thai restaurant, but it is far from the worse either. I guess I would say it is the best within its area, so when I don't feeling like driving across town, Thai Restaurant is my go to place for west-side Thai. The Service - 3 Stars (15% tip) The service we received was about average. Our waitress was attentive, but she was not social, interactive or helpful. She did her job but, but little more. For her effort we left a 15% $6.25 tip. We typically provide 20% or more for 5 star service on the pre-tax portion of the bill, 18% for 4, 15% for 3, 12% for 2 and 0% for 1 star service. The Food: $5.75 A-2 Poa Pia Sod - 4 Stars This item is described as a fresh spring roll of which you get two. It consisted of various long vegetables rolled up in a rice paper, cut and served with a delightful sauce. It was certainly better than most spring rolls, but a bit on the expensive side. $13.75 C-3 Yam Quid - 4 Stars This was a mighty expensive salad but it was also mighty tasty. The squid was perfectly prepared, but being the only protein in the dish it had to be. However the dish really seems to missing a few ingredients, like mussels or shrimp, maybe some cashews. $9.75 R-4 House Special Fried Rice - 3 Stars Usually house special fried rice is a restaurant's top of the line rice, but at Thai Restaurant their house special is third down from the top. This house special only comes with chicken and shrimp as protein with rice, egg, scallions and tomatoes making up the rest of the entree. At $9.75 the standard house special fried rice seems a bit lacking on the protein compared to most house specials. To get the "full on" house fried rice with shrimp, chicken, beef, pork and vegetables you have to order their $9.50 R-5 Combination Fred Rice and add three or the five ingredients for an additional $0.75 each for a total price of $11.75. That is some expensive house special fried rice. $9.75 N-1 Pad Thai Chicken - 3 Stars The entree is made of rice noodles, tofu, eggs, bean sprouts and peanuts. You have the standard protein choices of tofu, beef, pork, chicken and shrimp; however shrimp will cost you an extra dollar. This entree, like the rice, was very tasty, but for the price it just seemed a bit meager or a dollar too much. Total Bill: $52.69 for two adults, including tax a tip and two soda fountain drinks. Final Thoughts: Thai Restaurant is teetering on the line between three and four stars. Sometimes we go and it is a solid and fantastic four, and at other times it is just an average three. It depends on what you order as to whether or not your entree will have a higher or lower price/quality/flavor quotient. However, the real test is whether or not you would go back and order the same stuff, and we most certainly will give Thai Restaurant another try.

Truly fantastic Thai places, with knockout entrees that change your life forever, are absolutely worthy of high prices and high praise. Trouble is, in a burgeoning little-big town like Greenville, you're just not gonna find one. BUT, praise God, there are several great little Thai shops here and there, of which this place is the best. No question about it - the selection, service, quality, portions, and FLAVOR go on for miles! We've had the very savory and spiced cashew chicken, shrimp pad thai, and panang curry for entrees and loved every single morsel we could scrape up off those plates. Nothin like an ice-cold Thai tea and an order of mango and sticky rice to cap it all off as well... The staff is very accommodating to dietary restrictions and/or food allergies, and they were more than happy to supply a little extra rice for our bag of leftovers, too. When the place gets busy, service can slow down just a bit due to understaffing, but you'll see the gals busting it to get everybody served quickly and correctly. The restaurant itself is a little unbecoming and aged in appearance, as if it was once some fizzled out neighborhood haunt back in 1985, so it certainly won't wow you with jaw-dropping esthetic appeal. But if that appetite of yours is looking for a fresh, honest Thai meal to tickle its fayncy, look no further. You just hit paydirt. Mmmm...

Best Thai restaurant in Greenville I have been able to find thus far. Found this place via yelp and don't regret it at all. Brought my co workers with me on lunch and they loved it. We had a party of 8, were on a time crunch, and they've never had Thai, but everything went smoothly. Service was great. The ladies were a joy to be around. Everyone loved their food. I had rad na/chow fun. My fav dish, but I'm very picky when it comes to rad n. They made theirs just right. I will definitely be going again

Highly recommend this place. I've been to several Thai restaurants and this place is definitely one of the best. I definitely will be back.

Love the green curry, especially with pork, it seems to absorb the most flavor. I would also recommend the pad Thai. Both can be made as spicy as you would like, I've worked my way up to level 5, and I love spice. Almost forgot, you have to compliment either dish with a spring roll and the delicious dipping sauce.

Without a doubt my favorite restaurant. Don't let the exterior and neighborhood scare you, the food inside is on point.

Best tasting thai in Greenville. I wish they had a much larger portion for their curry, which is very good and goes up to level 50 in spice. The basil roll goes well with the peanut dipping sauce.

Trusty yelp app to the rescue once again. I was on my way from Charlotte to Atlanta to see a concert with some friends and we wanted a good solid meal before we boozed it up. I think they maybe only had 2 employees working but somehow they made it work. If the lunch crowd was much bigger, I don't know what they would have done. I went for the red curry at an 8 like Melissa M. mentioned. WOW, that was hot, like legit thai hot. I'm not a pansy but I was sweating hard. I did notice my lack of waiter when I was dying over not having a refill but it was good non-the-less. My buddy got the pad thai at a 5 and it still had a solid bite. It took a little while to get settled but that was my only complaint. Great food at a reasonable price.

Best Thai we have had in many states, over many years. EAT HERE! Excellent service. Clean and cozy

The food was very authentic, a big thing I look for when it comes to Asian restaurants. They have a spicy rating from 1-10, and my 8 was definitely spicy, just like I like it! I would highly recommend it.

Best Thai around! Its a hole in the wall so don't go for the atmosphere, but the food won't disappoint. Just be careful with the spice scale, some dishes pack major heat!

Low-key, yet fabulous! My favorite restaurant in Greenville. Thai chicken wings, green curry and the best wait staff ever!

I jump on a chance to go eat here. I love their red curry at an 8, and my husband loves their noodle dishes. It's a nice, quiet place that's easy to get to. Sure, the exterior is goofy, but the food definitely makes up for it. I'm not one to visit a restaurant to worry about the grass. Service is lovely and prompt, and the Thai tea is pretty tasty. I find I never leave hungry, but they don't give me too much, either - that's a great sign that they're good at managing costs and have worthy experience of running a place like this. I like knowing they don't end up wasting product.

Although this is our go-to take-out place, we occasionally eat in. The basil rolls, green curry, and pad thai are all consistently good. Be careful with the spice level (1-10, 10 being the hottest), as the heat goes up exponentially past 6. The atmosphere is a little dated but the food more than makes up for it.

This place was great! Food was fresh, service was friendly! Curry chicken was just right, and the basil roll was a nice starter. We will return.

This is the place to go if you are in the mood for Thai done the right way. I've tried every Thai place in Greenville. This is hands down the best. The Pad Kee Mao is unreal. The Tom Yum Goong soup is delicious. Salads are great. Staff is nice. Don't let the exterior or the decor turn you off. This place is no-frills deliciousness.
