I love Brandy the bar tender. Great appetizers. Right by Flour field for convenience. Nice atmosphere and clean surroundings. Didn't use the bathroom so can't comment on that but good looking place. Feels big with high ceilings. Long bar with outdoor seating and roof top views of the game. I always enjoy liberty's.

Love the atmosphere, dark inside, so i that's not your thing, bypass. Had the baked mac and cheese, and chicken and waffle, no s. Both A+ though I feel the portion was small for the price for the CaW.

Very, VERY loud - having a conversation with friends on the other side of the booth was impossible. Pretty standard "American pub" food. Price seems typical, portions are generous, wings were WAY over cooked, other dishes were not great, not bad. Service was slow but friendly. Don't go out of your way, but if you're in the neighborhood, Liberty's a solid if unremarkable choice.

Driving through headed to North Carolina and decided to stop for Brunch. An admirable TapRoom Bloody Mary started things off..made to perfection. They give mini variations of muffins (complimentary) while you wait. Service was good..taste and warmness of food was good.

Great service. My husband and I got burgers and they were both great. They also have a great selection of beers! We will be going back for sure.

Chicken sandwich was alright. That's about the best I can say about it, fried and covered in wing sauce. It's some what hard to ruin that. The soggy bun could have went without. My girlfriend got a spinach pizza. Would have been better off eating a lunchable pizza. Once again it was soggy, and under cooked. Wasn't real impressed with the food. Service as well was okay.

We enjoyed brunch on Father's Day. Their portions are very large, and the food was very tasty. I love their potato "disks" which are sold on the menu as hash browns, so not what we expected but were so good. I ordered the wrap on the brunch menu, which came out not so much a wrap but like a quesadilla, which was also really good though it was only lukewarm. Everyone else at our table loved their food, two different omelets and also a burger. The reason for three stars is because of the cleanliness of the place. We had to wait about 25 minutes for our food and it gave us time to just sit and observe. If you look up, you will see months of dust on the ceiling tiles and ceiling fans, and many months of dirt and dust clogging the air conditioning vents. There's so much of it, I'm sure it's fallen down into food before. It was pretty disgusting and made me wonder what other areas outside of the public eye looked like. Just like Robert Irvine says, soap and water doesn't cost much and it's just laziness when you can't keep your restaurant clean, though they might need to send a cleaning crew in for this one.

The 7.00 lunch menu is a great deal and very good. They change the choice about every 3 months but they have all been great choices.

The staff is always more than accommodating, even letting us move to the shade instead of sitting in the sun. Beer menu has a ton of local favorites, such as Brewery 85, and the food is always perfectly prepared and delicious. One of our favorite spots, especially before/after Drive games.

Food looked great, tasted good, service lacking. The french fries were so good! My gf's fish sandwich was pretty good, so sayeth she. I tasted it, and the fish, in my opinion, tasted awful. I couldn't even eat the piece she gave me. I had the jerk chicken sandwich. It looked perfect. However, the chicken was really dry. I realize its hard to cook boneless, skinless chicken breast without drying it out a bit, so I'm cutting them some slack for that. The flavor was good, thanks to the sauce they put on it. The worst part of the experience, in my opinion, was the staff. the hostess treated us as just a task of her job. not welcoming, warm, or friendly. the whole restaurant gave off that vibe in my opinion. either the place is not managed well, or they were having an off day, but something tells me staff morale is lacking, most probably a training issue, as our waiter had not sampled much of the food (always a clue the mgmt isn't running a tight ship). there was one waitress who was wearing very thin, practically see-through yoga pants. not at all professional. (again, points to a mgmt issue) $24 total for 2 sandwich plates and water, with tax and tip. not a good value. The place is beautiful inside, including the bathrooms. I liked the atmosphere.

First time here. Big Bar and nice pub. If the weather is warm has outside bar and tables. Food was ok typical bar food good drink prices right at the ball field

  • Matthew H.

I eat here pretty often. The food is generally good and the staff is great. The beer on tap is consistently out or broken for my favorites, which is disappointing. It can also be slow for large groups (6+). Overall I like it and will return.

We came here today for brunch to celebrate a co-workers going away party. I have been here a couple times to enjoy dinner but this was my first experience here for brunch and was very pleased! Great Bloody Mary and Mimosa specials. My fiance and I enjoyed the eggs benedict and it was fantastic! Every one at our table was pleased with the food and service we received. My only qualm I have is that while we had called ahead to let them know we were coming, they would not seat us until our entire party arrived. I would understand it if they were busy however they weren't and it was slightly annoying to hang out by the bar while we were waiting for two people to show up. Will definitely come back again :)

The lady and I enjoyed this place so much on our trip to Greenville that we went twice! Lots of beers on tap --including some really good local ones -- and we had a great bartender on Saturday night that taught us a new recipe for margaritas (using OJ instead of sour mix) and even tracked down the number for us to call Greenville's unique electric taxi cab! Its worth checking out or asking about their daily specials. On Saturday they have a special of 3 shots for $10 (the lady and I weren't that adventurous!) and on Sundays they have $5 pizzas -- just one is enough for two people -- which we enjoyed very much! We went during the offseason, but the Taproom is located directly next door to Greenville's minor league baseball stadium. A perfect pre- or post-game spot for a game, or both!

  • Jason H.

I have ate here many times going to a Drive game or just walking around the West End. I am never disappointed. Today however exceeded my expectations. Our waitress (Natalia) was awesome. Rain moved in as we were out on the patio. She and the staff quickly moved us to a covered area. Constantly we were checked on and assisted. Superb service and amazing food as always. A must stop when looking for great dining in Greenville!

I can't say that I've ever had a bad meal here, and I've eaten here over 20 times. I love the location and this place has outdoor seating which is great in the fall. Id say its one of the first to allow the dogs outside, so i have been going here for 7+ years. The New York Strip is a bargain, especially in the downtown market, and can be taken to new levels cooked Medium Rare, and donned with melted Gorgonzola cheese... It's terrific, rich and delicious. This used to be my "go to" restaurant before the growth spurt Greenville has encountered in the past 5 years with all its new restaurants. Their tap selection is always pretty decent, with a heavy craft influence and lots of domestics, as well as in-house brews. I highly recommend this place as a staple of downtown. Be sure to catch it outside in early fall, or mid spring. It's always fun before and after a baseball game.

$5 pizza on Sundays. Amazing deal. Great pizzas, friendly staff, mimosas are a good choice for Sunday brunch too. Get the Liberty Burger, She crab soup and loaded potato wedges. Also good is the west end club

    (4)
  • Mike S.

Decent pubfare, good selection of beers, the staff seems a bit disinterested in the customers every time that I have been there. Great atmosphere and a good place to catch a beer before heading to the ballgame at Fluor Field.

  • Pepe N.

This place is a major disappointment. So I have come to this place a few times and always leave disappointed. They brag of their "variety" of great beers they have, only to find out they no longer offer 2/3 of the beer on the menu. The food is average at best, sometimes acceptable other times cold and stale. The only reason I give this place so many chances is, it is conveniently close to the ballpark. If you can go anywhere else or put up with the ballpark food and beer I would recommend just walking by this embarrassment of a restaurant. Liberty Tap more like Liberty Jacked

  • Coleen S.

I really enjoy coming to Liberty. Nick is cool and very knowledgeable about all the beers. He is also very accommodating and welcoming if you come to the bar on your own. Jamie is also very nice and can handle a large crowd comfortably. This is a place that's nice to come out and have a few drinks on your own or have a few with friends. I think the food is solid. I try to go whenever I can. By the way, great beer selection and good prices. Just a relaxing place to hang out in my opinion.

  • Kevin Z.

Everett is the man at the bar! He can hold it down & hit ya w/ some punchlines! Quick service & the drinks are money! He took care of the whole bar. No one had an empty glass. They have 2 happy hours from 4-7pm & 10pm-12am m-thurs & 10pm-2am fri & sat. $2 domestics, $5 apps, $3 wells, & $4 wines. On Sunday they have game day specials as well. Had the Tommy Fries which is home style fries w/ cheese & bacon on it w/ ranch. SO GOOD! Great game day food. They have cornhole outside & you're right behind the baseball field so you can sneak a peak.

  • Julie W.

I love their Tommy Fries served at Sunday brunch they are absolutely perfect. I did however get food poisoning from a burger I had here and haven't been back since.

  • Kathy G.

Service was good. Food was awful. I will have to say other people's food in our group looked pretty good. Stay away from the Margherita Pizza. It was probably the worst pizza I have ever had.

    (1)
  • Monique C.

I went for lunch and was glad they had a $7 lunch menu with a choice of about 7-10 entrees. I had the BBQ chicken sandwich and it was pretty good. The fries are a bit bland though. The service could be better as I felt my waiter could've engaged a bit more. It's an okay restaurant.

Terrible place in my opinion. This is food off a truck at it's finest :( It is an ok place to have a beer but make sure they have cleaned the taps ir you are drink draft beer.

  • Amanda P.

The she crab soup and Caesar salad are my top picks on the menu. Also the margarita pizza is really good. I would recommend coming before or after a drive game!

    (3)
  • Elizabeth C.

Service was absolutely horrible! We had a large group (~10) for Sunday brunch, and I would expect it to take a while but our waitress just could not handle the job. It must have taken me 40 minutes to get my bloody mary and when it came it did not match the description in the menu or the ones that had already been delivered to other members of my party. The water took even longer to come, only eventually arriving at the table when I grabbed it off the outdoor bar (10 feet away) where our waitress had left it for over 10 minutes after she was distracted by another request. The food was good when it eventually showed up, but the experience was so ridiculous I will never go back.

Liberty is a decent place to eat. My coworkers love it and go to lunch there at least once a week. However, I think the lunch/dinner food is just okay and it wouldn't be my first choice. Sunday is a good time to go because their brunch is the one exception for me food wise. It is really good. The location is awesome though I will say, and it's a great place to grab a beer before or after a baseball game!

The liberty Chicken here is surprisingly good. My husband and I came here because we where meeting some friends and I personally had my first visit here but my husband has been here several times. He comes with his friends here for the various types of Tap beer. pretty good atmosphere. I will be coming here soon.

Went in for dinner and sat at the bar. After being ignored for 30 minutes and not placing an order due to inattentiveness I paid my check and left The manager chased me down the street and accused me of not paying my tab Upon returning the bartender admitted I had indeed paid. No apology for the public humiliation No doubt I will not return

We go down to Greenville often as we have friends that live there. We had been to Liberty on our last visit a month or so ago. We decided to go back this time and the experience was not good at all. We ordered some of their chips with blue cheese. The chips had been fried in oil that was old. It tasted horrible! I didn't say much but finally my daughter told me that she could not eat her chips because they were so bad. One of our friends tried them too and he said they were very bad as well. It was easy to determine what had made them taste awful......the oil was old. You could plainly taste it! When the waiter came back over, I politely told him that the chips were not edible. I explained that the oil was old. He looked at me with this hateful look and said, "okay" as if I was lying. I invited him to taste one but he picked up the plate and walked away. Everyone at the table noticed his horrible attitude. He carried the chips out on the patio complaining about it and as he walked back in, he kept looking over at our table. I wanted to leave right then but I was among friends. Eight people saw this interaction. Five if those are local. I'm pretty sure this restaurant just lost local business and tourist business as well. I prefer to go somewhere where the quality is better and where I am treated with respect.

First the positives: 1. I really like the high ceilings, big booths, and open feel of this place. 2. They have a good variety of beers on tap, and nightly beer specials, so you'll always find something you like at a fair price. 3. Decent French Dip, good house-made chips. 4. Friendly, attentive waitstaff. Now the negatives: 1. The she-crab soup (a SC restaurant standard) had good flavor, but was WAY too thick...like oatmeal thick...like as thick as french onion dip sitting next to a bowl of potato chips thick. It was really off-putting. 2. I got the Liberty Chicken. Basically, it was a chicken breast and mashed potatoes floating in a huge bowl of sauce. WAY too much sauce. This wouldn't have been as big a deal if it was good sauce, but it was overly salted...inedibly so...and I normally like salty things. I tried to pick the chicken and potatoes out of the sauce to eat, but it was difficult. Perhaps our mistake was not sticking to brew pub standards like burgers, but since over half the menu is higher end entrees, I assumed they would be good. I assumed wrong. I would definitely go back here for a beer...probably not for the food.

The food was great! Nice drink selection also. The atmosphere was nice - it's sort of at the end of the line (far away from a lot of the other places) but it was worth the walk from the Hyatt. I had a smothered chicken dish and it was fantastic! They also have a lot of beer selections to chose from so if you are a beer fan, they have a nice selection (but so do a lot of places in Greenville).

Hey whatsup? Liberty is kewl. But ya gotta know how to work it. Sit at the bar, which is staffed by absolute pros like Brandy, Nick, Dolfo, and Jamie. (We miss Everett!) Not only are they attentive and have a good sense of humor, but they can regale you with enactments of Batman and Superman insulting each other. Beware of the other seating areas: Liberty gets overrun with Furman frat parties, corporate team-building obligations, and Drive spillover. It's one of the few places in town you can get good craft beers on tap without beardy hipsters pretending they live in Portland, 1996. (I"m growling at you, Velo Fellow.) Tommy fries, pizza, wings are all satisfactory. The people watching lacks the skeetch, biker wannabes, and closet case hilarity of Carolina Ale House or Mac's, but overall it's a reliable place that does what it does without trying to hard to be something it's not. Plus you can watch sports on the TVs. Sports sports sports!!!!!!! Thank you I know.

This place is unbelievably slow. The food is good & if you have a Sunday afternoon to kill, I would recommend it.

  • Lesley B.

I LOVE this place to meet friends and have a laidback, no frills meal. I HATE this place to stand around and have a drink. If you're looking for a crammed full "meet market", this is it. If you want to sit, chat and have a quiet drink with friends, probably not the place. Very fun if you're in the mood for a huge crowd or ultimate gastropub experience.

This place is a lot of fun, particularly on Thursday evenings during/after baseball games. Good beer selection, and the burgers and salads are pretty darn good too.

Design for a hipster rendezvous spot: must be west or east of downtown. Neighborhood must not be completely overloaded with bars. Beer list must be 30+. May be located inside of an old warehouse. LT definitely falls into all of the categories. Liberty Taproom was on my map for a a place to grab a drink, but it was a lot more uppity than I expected. I usually assume that any neighborhood called "West End" or "East Side" will be hipster and low-key. Not the case. This part of the West End was packed to the seams, and it seems to the be hot spot. Dang frat boys coming into hipster districts. I dropped in for a snack, and I wanted a local brew to cap my night off. The she crab soup and brown ale sounded pretty appealing as a hefty end to my night. The prices are on par for a brewery/restaurant; about $3.50 a draft. Grub is also really affordable here. Familiar with she crab soup I am not, but I think that this one was a bit too creamy. It was flavorful, but the cream really covered up the soft potatoes and bits of crab. Also, it was a tad bland and served just a touch warm. With an ice cold beer, I would like a piping hot soup to match it... in a weird way. The Liberty brown ale was pretty good. Very nutty, slightly crisp, and not the least bit heavy. Definitely less watered down than most brewery restaurants. Liberty is in the big cities around SC, and I think it is a solid place to gather with friends for a beer and a bite. Check it out if you ever need a go-to watering and muching hole. Good hours too! And "free" valet!

We had to wait for a little while to get service here, but when she finally came, the service was good and she was polite. The food was good but it did seem a little overpriced. You are paying a little for the location here. We ate outside before the baseball game and the atmosphere was a lot of fun. They also have a great variety of beer on tap.

  • Tom L.

Love the atmosphere, "back porch" dining, and friendly service. Beer selection is outstanding, with great specials and local microbrews. The day-to-day food is good, but not great, and can be a bit pricey. The fresh spinach&fruit salad is a great selection. Sunday brunch, on the other hand, is extraordinary. Terrific omelets and eggs benedict.

The Liberty Chicken at Liberty Tap is fabulous. You also can't beat the $3 Absolut drinks on the weekends. Love it!

Great to go and just get loose and the food wasn't half bad either. Didn't give it good ratings because the night I went, my shoulders nudged practically every person I passed. Many are into that scene, but lately I've been more of a "let's chill drink" then "OMG I'm not wasted" mind frame. It's definitely a good place to go meet and greet, so on those bored nights with the boys or girls, this would be a goto spot for sure. Burgers Burgers Burgers...

Crap hole. The food was alright, but the wait staff and management was clueless. No ideal about food allergies - recommended butter on pasta for my daughter w/ a dairy allergy.

Liberty Tap is one of those great new Greenville places that is near the top of my list for many different reasons. Situated next to the new baseball stadium, it has been open for over a year, maybe two. The beer selection is fantastic and I was impressed with the bartender's extensive knowledge of what he was serving. Their inventory rotates fairly regularly so if you're looking for that new popular beer, they have it. On another note, I really enjoy the bloody mary's and have even attempted to replicate it at home in Atlanta. They use a combination of zing-zang mix, old bay on the rim, and stuff it with shrimp, olives, and a couple other items that all make it worth while. While I didn't eat that on this trip, I wanted to mention how much I enjoyed it. This visit I chose the "Black and Bleu" burger, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Cooked perfectly it is topped with bleu cheese and a big onion ring on the top. While not too original the execution is perfect. Complemented by fresh-cooked potato chips, it is a great value. My fiance always gets the Liberty Club sandwich and I am always impressed with it. On previous visits I have ordered the terrific Fish and Chips, but be ready to get your fingers greasy on this dish. Pizzas are also very good, with the White-style pizza being my favorite. I agree with the other Yelpers that this may not be the best place to go when "going out to the bar" late night but for good food and a nice beer, I always choose Liberty Tap.

Gentrification is slowly creeping up this this part of the West End toward the mill hills. That means some good restaurants are appearing in this neighborhood, but it also means that the suburbia-flavored detritus of the American restaurant industry is beginning to wash upon the shores of the Reedy. Guess whether this place is good or detritus?! The decor is sort of like a minimalist Applebee's, with Statue of Liberty themed art and fixtures and dark wood paneling. The high ceilings eliminate any sense of intimacy that the dark wood and dim lighting might provide. The food itself was a disappointment. Granted, all I had was a pepperoni pizza, but it was little better than Tombstone pizza, especially the chewy, undercooked crust. I also ordered their Liberty Lager, which was pitifully weak, like a mixture of seltzer water and Budweiser. Nothing that my group ordered looked good enough to justify another trip. I think this place is probably just a place that groups of people who are going to go to a baseball game may stop in to eat dinner beforehand. Or maybe it's where people who have been drinking throughout a ball game go to continue their night's revelry. Eh, whatever. There are better bars downtown with better food.

One of my favorites in Greenville for the price. Great location too! Food is very good for the price. Something I can not always say about some of the other higher end restaurants in Greenville.

  • Todd J.

Pint night is about the only reason to go here which is on Wednesdays. The food is average (although I like the "Liberty Burger" with blue cheese and fried egg), but the atmosphere and the clientele is lacking. If you enjoy early 30s people talking loud about sports while their wives watch, you may enjoy this place, if not, the food is ok if you are about to go catch the Greenville Drive.

Ribs are really good! I enjoyed the food and the staff was very observant.

Went there for supper. I have no idea what moonshine still some of the reviewers were drinking from but they are way off. This place is beautiful inside, very NY chic (remember, this is hee-haw territory). The booths were wide enough for 3 adults on each side, leather, wood table, just effing awesome. If I wasn't with another guy, I might be tempted to join the Negative Mile High Club under the table. The waitress was really cute (BONUS!) and really nice. We thought it was a sports bar, being next to a baseball field, but it turns out it only has 3 tv's. I asked her to find the greatest hockey team of all time on tv that was playing at the time, my beloved Montreal Canadiens and SHE DID!!!! We both had the she-crab soup. Worth it just for the name alone but it was really good. Nice and thick, the way a soup should be. it wasn't a bisque, previous complainer, it was a soup. Warm bread with whipped butter came along as well. Yum yum. As a main dish, he had grilled salmon, I had penne with some kind of Asiago sauce. I'm not fancy but that pasta was effinggggg incredible. He said his salmon was top notch as well. Real nice ambience inside, lots of alcohol choices and great food. 4.4532187 stars * There's a minor league team that has their home field pretty much next door to this place. The field, wait for it, is an EXACT miniature replica of Camden Yards in Baltimore. does it get any cooler than that? I think not! ** Depressed moonshine reviewers, drink Ouzo. You'll be happier.

I don't understand the complaints about the food. We walked in with 5 people yesterday and everyone was happy with it. I had a Freedom Burger and it was cooked as ordered and - finally - not a greasy one. Atmosphere is really nice, but it's also really loud. Never mind, we will come again.

Visiting from Colorado Good beer selection and atmosphere. Burgers looked good however, cheese steak I ordered was mostly bread. Location is great by the ballpark.

Still my fave dt Greenville spot--lively but not too obnoxiously crowded. Like the big booths they have and that they serve food til about midnight. BBQ chicken pizza was great: sweet sauce, good sized chicken slices, and piping hot tender bread as a base. Asian dumplings were surprisingly good: large, crispy outside, and appropriate mix of meat and veggies inside. Also big plus was that my favorite sweet tea firefly vodka was on $3 special on Friday.

Has your dishwasher ever been clogged and the repairman didn't get there for hours, even days? Did you happen to notice the way the stagnant water smelled in there? Well, I have had this happen and let me tell you...the pizza at Liberty Taproom tasted JUST like what stagnant dishwasher water SMELLS like. I'm not joking. I have also tried the chicken fingers (who can mess those up?) and a few other items which were all absolutely terrible. My guess is Liberty stays in business because of it's prime location: right next to the baseball stadium. I'll go back for a beer before the game, but NO food!!!
