This place is always packed and always has a cover charge to get in. The bartenders, I believe, try to keep up with the volume of patrons trying to get drinks to the best of their ability but, sadly, they fall short. You will either stand at the bar for 30 seconds and be served quickly, or, you will watch 10 others who stepped up after you get served first and wait between 10-15 minutes for a beer. It's loud inside (it's a music venue, duh) so it's hard to communicate with friends. Their outdoor area is a small rectangular patio with minimal seating. There isn't adequate seating inside, either. Over all, I'll go here if my friends are going and if they want to pay my cover charge. I don't want to pay the cover to go in and hear mediocre music, wait too long for a drink, and have absolutely no place to sit down the entire time I'm there. Some people love this place, just not me. 7/20/15 edit; my boyfriend was given the wrong tab by the same bartender 3 times while trying to close out this past weekend. He was handed his receipt and debit card with a tab $40 over what he was expecting. We asked for an itemized receipt and saw 6 different kinds of drinks, 2 of which we drink. We told him the tab was incorrect and we haven't ordered most of the drinks, he said "oh that's my bad," and handed us a new tab...really it was the same one printed out again...I stopped him one more time, showed him my boyfriends first and last name in my phone, the bartender prints out ANOTHER receipt with, again, the wrong drinks listed. We finally got the correct tab after asking a different bartender for help. A $60 tab is a lot different than $21. Poor poor service

Went here just now sat down some guy came out the back and poured a large cup of flour (i assume) on a guy at the bar. Things seem to get tense so we left. Will not go back. Update: the kitchen manager contacted me a said this was a birthday thing between friends that got out of hand. so i will try it again. One i try it i will write a new review.

Stopped in here before a show at the music farm and wanted to have some drinks. The happy hour deals were so good that I asked a couple times to verify what they were saying was true. Between 2 and 7 drafts were $2, besides Guinness. They were not bad drafts either! I also got the pimento cheese dip which although it wasn't as hot as advertised it was really great. Awesome to share with friends. Our server was super nice and when my phone was dying she charged it for me behind the bar which I thought was awesome because I needed it for pics at the show. Can't wait to go back again when I am back at the Capital!

You have to get the loaded hot tots! They are awesome! How could spicy tots with ranch and bacon not be awesome. We also had the smashville burger which had barbeque, bacon, and slaw on it. Sounds weird but it was surprisingly good. Great place for cold beer, good food, sports on TV and great music!

Really rude men at the front door when we got there. Horrible attitudes. Whoever runs this place needs to do something about them.

Plastic cups. One circular bar. This place reminds me of a throwback to Cancun on spring break back in 2006, and not in a good way. This place has "multiple" bars, but what it really amounts to is a handful of bartenders in one bar in the middle of the place with a ton of guys bussing/bar-backing the bar itself...so you'll wait a while for a drink. All in all, if there actually was a good live music performance coming to Columbia, this place would be a good place for the bar to book, but otherwise it ends up being and awkward layout for trying to have a good time. The front door ends up way too crowded from bar patrons/new patrons....they should consider a renovation to either move the bar from the front door, or install a new bar to divert some traffic outside to the patio or away from the front door. The DJ was good tonight if you like house/electronic dance music. Otherwise you're better off checking the internet to see whats going on. Better places in Columbia to get your drink/dance on. If you're a student at USC you'll probably like it, but if not, you'll probably find fun elsewhere.

Always an excellent band playing, totally worth the cheap cover charge. Drink prices are cheap and bartenders are quick. Great atmosphere and decor!

As a bar, this place is okay. As a music venue, it's mediocre. It doesn't have the best acoustics so you might be a little deafened afterwards. But as a restaurant, this place is bad. It's South Carolina law that bars have to serve food, but if you're in the vista you really just ought to go find good food elsewhere. I have eaten here for some reason and my food was miserable. I would liken it to a high school cafeteria. I got a quesadilla and French fries. The quesadilla was a squishy, microwaved tragedy that was as flavorless as it was limp. My fries were the ore-Ida crispy variety straight out of the grocery freezer aisle. Please don't waste your time trying to eat here. You will be sorely disappointed. Just come for the drinks and music.

This place is a total sham! The drinks are rediculously weak even after claiming a ounce and a half pour ( although i saw all the bartenders pour a 3 count and then lie to me!) Thank god I had a medicine shot cup to tell that they shorted me. They over charge and under pour, this is coming from an NYC bartender, so sad, Tin Roof. Expected better, NOT WORTH IT! Addendum: I just ordered the same shot, sambuca. The first time the guy pulls it out of the freezer and gives to me straight. The second time, the guy pulls it out of the freezer, puts it In a shaker and tries to serve it. Wtf??? Don't water down a shot that's already cold!!! SHADY!!! DO NOT ORDER LIQUOR FROM HERE!!

I don't know why people are complaining and why the reviews are so low. I personally love it here. The bartenders are great! I've been served by a server once a couple years ago, and it wasn't the best service, so I always sit at the bar. They are more attentive. The food is also pretty good when you go and it isn't busy. I recommend their chips and queso or quesadillas. (Referencing one gripe) Yeah, the bathrooms aren't always the cleanest, but what do you expect with a bunch of drunk sloppy girls. At least it isn't 5 Points and full of irritating drunk underage frat boys, sorostitutes, or thugs. If you don't want to pay cover or want somewhere to sit, get there earlier. It isn't a big deal. Their live bands are great as are their music selections when there isn't a band.

We did not eat here. On Friday night, the place got packed. We had a great night here. The band played a wacky music selection but they sounded great and kept everyone dancing. The dance floor was large and there was lots of space. Wide range of people here but most were early 20s.

If you are looking for food, their are a lot better options in the area. This is a GREAT place to grab a drink later in the evening and listen to some live music! One of my favorite spots for a Friday or Saturday night out at the bar!

This is not your neighborhood bar...this is your neighborhood bar taken over by the Freshman class of USC. While I wasn't the oldest person in the bar (I'm in my mid-20's), I felt WAY too old to be at this establishment. My list of grievances 1) $5 cover - I am over 21 and I will be spending money at your establishment. The saving grace (and reason for +1 star) was that they allowed us to enter without paying cover since we explained we were out of towners equipped only with a credit card but willing to buy drinks. 2) Drinks- I get it many people like a stiff drink and perhaps they wish to spend their evenings/mornings in a miserable drunken stupor but I asked for a vodka and SODA...I personally do not enjoy drinking cheap vodka on the rocks ...it was all too much for me. 3) Restrooms/general state of cleanliness of the entire place- The ladies rooms were horrendous.... as well as the venue itself which would be somewhat forgivable if there wasn't approximately 10+ broken glass bottles on the dance floor at all times. Luckily I wore boots... 4) The crowd- We were groped at and grabbed on more than once...they paid their $5 but that didn't entitle them to a free-for-all grab fest, perhaps Tin Roof should be more careful about who they let in. 5) Music - If you love Living on a prayer sung in its entirety by screaming drunk girls and drunken frat bros' this is the place for you. I will admit though they played Friends in Low Places...and who doesn't like that one! I guess it's safe to say I won't be back...

This place reminds me of Wild Wings and Ale House. It's a nice hangout spot for the weekend or maybe after work. I didn't try the food, though they seem to have a nice selection. They had a live band there tonight. It's a cool spot-very spacious.

Great place. Me and my buddy go every weekend. Get there early and there is no cover, which is normally $5.00. Parking is horrible, I have never been in a bar that has the ratio of 6 girls to 1 guy. 95% of all the women are beautiful. Just so many amazing looking girls go to this place. Extremely clean place, Great staff and even when the place is crowded you can still get a drink pretty quick. Never seen a fight because they have more than enough security.

"Just a laid-back atmosphere" Saturday afternoon, second half of the Bama N Bacon game, and the new Tin Roof restaurant- Life is good! If only the Razorbacks could of pulled it off- Oh well~ The Tin Roof is a very nice addition to Cola- The converted fire house building is perfect! It's big and spacious, light and airy, yet gives you a comfortable feeling the moment you walk in the door. They have a nice big bar in the middle, plenty of room to belly up and look at the many big screens...They have plenty -o- many big booths to sit in, and there's a fairly good size stage for your musical pleasures :) I like the layout, many different spots you can migrate to, looks like a good place for a party. The menu is maybe a little limited in choices? The two biggies are Quesadillas and Sandwiches- However, these are pretty big biggies- they offer 15-16 (or more?) different kinds of each! No burgers?? This is what we ordered- Sunny Quesadilla Grilled chicken, sun-dried tomatoes, avocado and Jack & feta cheeses. 7.95 Beanie Quesadilla Grilled Chicken and black beans with Jack cheese. 7.95 Steak & Cheese Sandwich Marinated grilled steak, sauteed mushrooms & onions, topped with provolone cheese. 8.95 Everything was el-goodo! The Sandwich, in IMO, was the best. It was a panini style with fresh mushrooms, nice and cheesy! The quesadillas are pretty good stuff too, maybe could of use a little more cheese, but I'm a cheesy kinda guy~ These are served with sour cream and a chipotle style of salsa. The nice server girl said they roast there own peppers and tomato's to make this. It's not your typical chunky, tomato style salsa I guess that's why they call it chipotle HA! :) They have Fat Tire beer on tap for two buckaroos and Sweetwater Blue for four bucks a bottle. Don't know how big of a selection they have but, don't think it's huge? My wife said the her Mai Tai was just perfect! The billing for this place is "Tin Roof - A Live Music Joint" Think they're right .The music crawl is coming up... have to give it another try. They have on the menu a sandwich I want to try- Peanut butter and bananas on Texas toast!! Life is good!

it's just a cluttered loud place to scream at each other when i wanna talk!! the live music was too loud for that small place, and the music wasn't really good to enjoy!!

I went to the best concert of my life at Tin Roof--Luke Bryan came during the fall and it was a blast! TR is a great place to bring friends and supports a great group atmosphere! Drinks are a little expensive, but the food is good. Our service has been slow, but I'm a return customer despite the negatives and still LOVE Tin Roof. It has other locations in other cities and I've heard good things about the other establishments as well. I highly recommend Tin Roof whether you're going for the live music, drinks or to grab a bite to eat!

Went here for the first time on a Saturday evening (7ish) and sat at the bar. We had ZERO service for 20 minutes- not even a "hello" or "ill be right with you". The atmopshere looked fun, but I have no patience for terrible service. Needless to say, we left and went somewhere that wanted our service
