My wife and I wanted to love it. Everything looked like it should be great, but our the breakfast was not good. Nice decor and comfortable. Many people working, the overall service was excellent. What went wrong? The corn bread tasted strange, could only eat two bites of it. It may have been grilled on a dirty grill, not sure. The 'well done' scrambled eggs were cold and runny. While our waitress was nice, she was dirty. Wearing a very stained sweatshirt and dirty pants. It was a bit of a turn off. All of the other staff looked impeccable. Maybe just a bad day for us, we will try it again someday when in the area.

Yelp never lets me down! I looked up a good brunch place in Westerly and The Cooked Goose came up. It was a good sign that we went fifteen minutes after opening on a Saturday and the place was already filling up. The second good sign, the people were mostly locals who always know the best places in town to eat. When you go in, there is a deli case filled with fancy cheese, homemade salads and fresh baked goods on the top. By the register, they had cookies the size of my head. We sat down, and started perusing the menu. It had a great variety, savory and sweet with a series of unique benedicts. My husband and I split the vanilla almost french toast and I had the asparagus quiche as well. The quiche was AMAZING! Light and creamy with perfectly cooked asparagus inside. The french toast was lighter than I expected, but that was probably a good thing. You could taste the vanilla and almond without it being drowned in some sugary sauce. Another feature about this place was they had some toys by the fireplace. A great way to keep my son occupied while we waited for our food. After our meal, we got some more pastries to go: a scone, almond croissant and chocolate hazelnut crunch croissant. I am going to remember that hazelnut crunch croissant fondly for many weeks to come. Next time we're in Westerly, we're definitely going back.

Excellent experience...all the food was great...terrific service, wonderful ambiance...can't believe it is the same group that owns that other goose place up on the psot road. Ate here three times in a week...

Rolled up to the Cooked Goose with a friend, looking for a late breakfast/brunch after a late night out. Received a lunch menu. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (We arrived at 11:30 a.m. though. What can I say? Haha). I ordered the Double Pair Footlong Hotdogs and an iced chai. My friend ordered the Goose. The Double Pair Footlong Hotdogs were not one, but TWO separate hotdogs, each split down the middle, topped with cheese, jalapeños, bacon, and more goodness, and each on their own respective toasted bun. Pretty damn good if you ask me. Also comes with a side of crispy-on-the-outside-and-soft-and-warm-on-the-inside potato wedges. I'm not sure how I could have eaten both hotdogs without the help of my friend. We split our meal, so we could try both items we orders. The Goose was a cold Italian-style tuna sandwich with some leafy greens and roasted red pepper. It was a little bland, so I asked the waitress for a cup of Sriracha to give it some kick. The iced chai was the right amount of flavor and sweetness. One of the better chais I've ever had. Based on raving reviews, I think this place is more for breakfast. The place was pretty busy around lunch, but we didn't have to wait for a table. Service was only a tad slow. It was a lazy day for me, so I didn't mind a whole lot. In all honesty, I would give this place 3.5 stars, but that's not an option on here. I would definitely return to the Cooked Goose for breakfast, because the atmosphere was pleasant and Watch Hill is so beautiful.

We went to the Cooked Goose for breakfast based on recommendations. It's set right by the Pawcatuck River, so if you sit outside you have a nice view for your email. The location is like a combination prepared foods/deli/restaurant. While I didn't have any of the prepared foods, there looked to be a wide variety and everything looked good. Breakfast was solid. I had the lobster benedict, which included lemon and tarragon and was served on Texas toast. The lobster was cooked well, well-spiced, and paired well with the other spices and pieces of the dish. My wife had vanilla almond french toast, which was good and not too overly-sweet despite the name and components. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive, even on a very busy morning. There aren't a huge number of sit-down/restaurant breakfast options in Watch Hill/Westerly, but this is a good one.

Came here while visiting Westerly for Labor Day weekend. Labor Day Monday 11am packed. Waited about 30 minutes for a table. Well worth the wait. Both food and service was great. Do recommend if you are visiting this area.

Good food with extraordinary friendly wait staff. On a busy Sunday morning, we were famished and stopped in. The waiter was extremely positive and energetic without being overbearing. He somehow knew I was starving and offered a cup of chowder which was delicious. It is little things like this that keep people coming back. When we left, practically everyone within sight who worked there thanked us and said goodbye including the chef. Who wouldnt want to patronize this place?

Great little place in Watch Hill to grab breakfast or lunch. Good food for a good price. It gets busy however so get there early/get ready to wait a little.

Ok spot on the way to the beach.... Service very friendly and quick... Clam chowder good, saltines for the chowder quite stale, sandwiches ehh, the Italian Beef I would avoid... Pretty neat interior, would try the place again

This was the best breakfast i have had in a long time. We ordered the lobster benedict and the truffle omelette. Beautiful place to sit outside and enjoy your morning coffee and eat a delicious meal!

The Goose never disappoints. It's been 0 degrees on & off for a month now and I haven't made it to a warmer climate for respite care. Today is raspberry cream pancakes with whipped cream and a side of bacon. The quiche special, broccoli & cheddar with fresh fruit. Tasty mocha latte, hot cocoa & a roaring fire! Might as well enjoy if it's not warming up too soon. Nice menu, great flavors. *I needed to edit this review because I forgot the most important thing about the Cooked Goose, they have an excellent staff! Always attentive to whatever you may need & really nice people too!!

The Cooked Goose is a local institution, so it's hard not to be a fan. My favorite is the sit-down brunch, which is always a treat. However, the take away salads are also amazing--shrimp salads and chicken salads are the standouts for me. The baked goods are tasty, but I'd stay for the savories. Also check out their dinner restaurant the Sea Goose.

Got take out breakfast on our way to East Beach in Watch Hill. Service was excellent and well organized. The food (bacon egg cheese on bagels) was excellent with large portions. Prices reasonable. Also got a delicious large molasses cookie. The atmosphere is nice with indoor and outdoor seating. Next time we'll wake up earlier to try that.

Solid breakfast. Make sure to time it right or it will be very crowded. Bakery treats looked delicious as well.

Coffee carafe at the table was a pleasant surprise, food options were perfect for us, kids had rich smores' french toast, the omelets good as well. Clean, well run.

Planning a trip to Mystic for my fiancé, I noticed that there wasn't a lot of good brunch options. Seeing as Westerly was less than a 20 minute drive with a cool menu and good reviews, this place grew to the top of my list. We arrived just after 11:30 on Thursday morning. We chose to sit at the bar, which I sometimes like to do at a new place. Cozy, rustic, and homey decor lined the cute restaurant and I was hooked from the beginning. I had already settled on the lobster Benedict the evening prior, but I was devastated to find out we had mixed breakfast. We almost left, but then we saw the Thursday Grilled Cheese special. This Thursday was taleggio cheese, proscuitto, arugula, and fig jam. How could I walk out of a place with an option like that?! My fiancé agreed and we both ordered it. So delicious. It was messy and cheesy and gooey and heaven. Best sandwich I've ever had. (So excited I have another half for tomorrow!) We also decided to share a bowl of cream of wild mushroom soup. The bowl was huge. We both ate to our hearts content and still had some left in the bowl! It was such an amazing concentrated mushroom flavor with a gritty texture. We also decided to go all out and try the coconut cake. So tasty! Everyone was so friendly and I can't wait to come back on our next visit to get that benedict!

Stopped here several times on our vacation for breakfast and sandwiches to take to the beach - everything was amazing! Tasty mimosas and great coffee at breakfast and all the food was extremely fresh and well prepared! I highly recommend the quiche - really tasty. Plus our server George was an absolute pleasure - very friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. A great asset to the place! We ordered the Captain Kirk wrap to have for lunch on the beach and it was delicious! Their basil and cashew chicken salad is sooo good - and I don't even like chicken salad! If you're in the area you should definitely stop here. By far the best dining experience we had in town, even better than the fancy places!

There's a reason people flock to The Goose. Located in tony Watch Hill (Taylor Swift has a mansion nearby), The Cooked Goose serves breakfast and lunch only. Any item is available for carry-out, and there's a large variety of prepared foods, perfect for a picnic or day at the beach. We came here for breakfast on a Sunday and I haven't had a better breakfast in recent memory. The food is absolutely fantastic. Everything is fresh and ingredients are carefully chosen. I started with one of their delicious mimosas, made with fresh squeezed oj and raspberry. That was the easiest decision I made all day. Selecting my entrée among all the scrumptious sounding choices proved to be much more difficult. I opted for the truffled eggs with fontina, served over asparagus. If you can imagine the most extravagant version of "toad in the hole" you've ever seen, that's what I had. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the cheese and truffle oil were decadent, and the crunchy asparagus was a great complement to cut through the richness of the other components of the dish. I swapped out the home fries for crispy hash browns, and that was the weakest item on my plate. They reminded me of a better-dressed version of McDonald's hash browns (that's not to say I don't enjoy McD's hash browns once or twice a year). Let's face it, I all but licked the plate clean as it was. Everyone else loved their food as well, and we tried a good portion of the menu: bagel platter with smoked salmon and whitefish, a fluffy omelette, and corned beef hash. The menu has a terrific range of both sweet (vanilla almond french toast) and savory (five kinds of eggs benedict!) breakfast items, and tons of baked goods. The service is undeniably friendly; everyone from the host, to the server, to the owner wants to make sure everyone leaves happy and satisfied. There's a free self-serve coffee bar to make the wait for a table a little less painful. Oh yes, this place is busy. Even during the off-season, expect to wait for a table, especially on a Sunday after church. There's a cozy area with a fireplace in which to wait, and there's tons of newspapers to help pass the time. I'm in love with this charming place, and hope to "get Goosed" often!

Great spot to hit up during anyone's road trip in new england. Boy and I came late so we missed breakfast, but with so many lunch options, we were sure that we would leave happy. He ordered the crab cake sandwich while I had the pressed smoked turkey melt. Both were delicious! And though we were full, we treated ourselves to an iced chai and a hazelnut soufflé cookie. The cookie was sweet but light! Just can't go wrong with anything there!

Been back several times. Every day they have a breakfast special - some days it's sweet, sometimes it's savory. Not being a fan of sweets for breakfast, I always get the special when it's savory - and I've never been disappointed. A few times I've even tried new (to me) things like grits. The chef here knows what he's doing, and the ingredients are always fresh. Outstanding. I've also tried all their varieties of Eggs Benedict- not one has been less than fantastic. We love the Cooked Goose!

Been to the Cooked Goose for breakfast a handful of times. The place is always busy but I've never waited more than 10 minutes. On my most recent trip I had an egg platter which came with toast and homefries with a side of sausage for $2 extra. Everything was very tasty, eggs were a little too well done for over easy but no big deal. Others in my party had French toast on Italian bread and traditional eggs Benedict. Both were also good, poached eggs on the Benedict were not very runny. Waitress was pleasant, she came over to ask if we had everything we needed before the French toast was served. I would come back again.

I found this place as we were heading to the beach in Rhode Island and looking for a place to have breakfast. I found this place on Yelp and I am sure glad I did. This place would be easy to pass from the road except for the fact that the parking lot was packed. We had to wait about 25 minutes for a place to sit which was fine because we checked out all their desserts and take out foods. We will definitely stop to get a picnic lunch anytime we are passing through to the beach. If its a nice day they have outside seating with umbrellas. You must get a coffee while you are here--their cappuccinos and lattes are amazing. I had the lobster benedict which was very tasty--I would certainly get it again. My husband got the truffle eggs which were very rich and yummy. The service was really good here. I'd like to go back for lunch some time and try some desserts.

We love this place. Plain and simple. We spend our summers here and try to go to The Cooked Goose every chance we get. Their breakfasts are awesome. Amazing bacon, egg and cheese on croissant. Pancakes are incredible. Lunch is fantastic too! Very simple ambiance. Perfect for families. Don't miss it. It's a treat

There's a reason why there is always a crowd here--the food is better than most other places, especially the eggs benedict. I have tried poached eggs in most every breakfast place in Westerly and these are the only ones I'd order again.

Fantastic breakfast. Eggs Benedict in various styles are a very good bet. Salmon one today was fantastic with hash brown base. Coffee is strongly brewed and very tasty.

I've been here twice recently, once for lunch and once for breakfast. Both experiences were good overall. For lunch I got the hot chocolate, chicken noodle soup, blt, and Italian sub. The soup would be better in a bowl and not in a mug but it was ok otherwise. Hot chocolate was just ok. For breakfast we tried the blueberry pancakes, eggs benedict, corned beef hash, and orange juice. Very good. I also got a lemon bar and chocolate chip cookie to take home, amazing. This is a cute place with many takeout options and I love the fireplace area.

Whoa baby, this place hit the spot!! We arrived around 9AM and the parking lot was very full. We were nervous that we wouldn't get a spot but we were seated immediately and the service was great. The menu options were awesome - some classics and some 'not your standard fare'. Everything came out on time, the waiter was always nearby to see if we needed something. I got the smoked salmon eggs benedict which blew me away. I haven't had a great breakfast like that in a while and still drool when I think about it. My wife got the breakfast burrito which she wasn't thrilled with. It looked awesome but the taste was a little flat. The iced coffees were 'meh' but they got the job done. I can't wait to come back here again though, it was a refreshing breakfast location.

Great environment and vibes. Feels very comfortable and homey. However, eggs a little overcooked to my liking. I ordered corned beef hash but it was from a can, not from scratch and that was on the top of the menu

This is one of the best places to eat breakfast. The service is usually good, but it is the food that rates 5 stars. Never have had a bad breakfast, In season there is a bit of a wait on weekends

My friend and I had such a wonderful lunch here a month ago, so I couldn't wait to take my husband for breakfast. Perhaps my expectations were too high, but the breakfast turned out to be just average. I had the eggs Florentine (eggs Benedict but with tomatoes & spinach instead of ham) and my husband had a standard eggs over easy w/ bacon and 'whatever dark bread' you've got. It's his typical, I've never eaten here before 'safe' breakfast. Our eggs were served room temperature to cool. The Hollandaise was a semi-congealed puddle of yellow goo. My husband's bacon was overcooked in places while undercooked in others. Their coffee, which was fantastic last month was cowboy rugged. Perhaps the Westerly tourist season has allowed them to drop their standards, but this isn't as good as I would have expected or had in the past.

I'm convinced that it is impossible to have a bad experience at this restaurant. I just want to stress how professional and personable the staff is, and how creative and interesting the food is. The first time I came to the Cooked Goose, I remember trying to locate the person who made my sandwich so that I could tell them that it was the best sandwich I'd ever had. The second time I was at the Cooked Goose, I remembered how the french fries were already seasoned and cooked perfectly every time. And the third time I went to the Cooked Goose, I remembered how the Veggie Burger was extra spicy and how it was basically awesome. The Captain Kirk Sandwich is $9.00 and consists of Chicken Salad, cashews, basil, avocados, lettuce, tomatoes and sprouts, and it comes on a spinach wrap. They have a sandwich called The Oscar ($10.95) which is basically a Filet Mignon sandwich on a Brioche Roll with tomatoes, avocados, red onions and herb butter. And horseradish. Their Lobster Roll is $13.95. If I was ever up before noon, I would try their breakfast, which looks to be astounding. Your drinks will be filled; your requests will be granted. They don't seat outside after a certain time, so beware of that. Otherwise, choosing a breakfast/lunch spot in the area is difficult. So just go here. Who's "Taylor Swift"?

    (5)
  • Tyler L.

I am a little nonplussed at all of the hype for Cooked Goose. It was pretty standard breakfast fare with less than mediocre coffee. I was with three friends and all of us agreed that while it was a charming little spot, the food was nothing special. I also ordered a blueberry muffin (toasted with butter) which seemingly always delivers at cute little breakfast spots. It didn't at all, I would even go as far as saying it was bad (like Starbucks). Maybe I am wrong and it is just a goose bump in the road. I will try it again if I am back in the Watch Hill area, to see if I was too quick to judge.

Let me start by saying that my girlfriend and I drove by the place more than a hundred times before we stopped in for brunch. After the best sandwiches we have had in the area (sorry 10 Sandwiches) and the handcut fries with friendly and enthusiastic servers we both agreed that we should have tried it way before we did. Great baked goods inside and the outside patio has a beautiful view. Don't miss it!!! Are there again today...best BLT in the world. Seriously, I can't imagine how a BLT could be better than what I was served today. Oh yeah, we were in and out in 20 minutes. My GF had the Chicken Club with the fries which was outstanding. The Cooked Goose is a top notch establishment and is always always always delicious, accommodating and patron focused, and that is the best value for me.

So I decided to take my family to the cooked goose based solely on the reviews I found on yelp! We had the plain eggs Benedict, a mushroom and sausage omelette and an egg platter. Everything was great; the toast was humongous. Even the coffee was delicious! The food came out really quickly; within five minutes. After filling up on coffee and breakfast we headed to the desert display. They had cheesecakes, pies, muffins, bread pudding, biscottis , cookies, cakes, and candies. We decided on a few slices of chocolate cherry pistachio biscotti, which by far was the biggest slice of biscotti I've ever seen. A slice of carrot cake and a huge cookie. I can't even tell you how good this cookie is! It has chocolate chips, nuts, toffee, crushed pretzels and potato chips. Some yummy goodness in there!!! I only ate like 1/8th of the cookie and it was so good and rich that it was enough to quench my sweet, salty and chocolate cravings. Please do try this place out. They cater, you can order to take out, they have picnics to go, a cheese counter, tons of desserts, and friendly service!

Totally perfect and amazing breakfast. Kids played chess by the fire while we were waiting for the food. Amazing scones, omelettes etc. Great service. Owner was so nice and takes the time to visit the tables.

Went on Sunday for brunch. Waited about 45 minutes. The place was packed, it is clearly very popular during the summer. I had the burrito my husband had a breakfast sandwich. We really enjoyed both. We had a mild issue with the food at first but the manager was very friendly and accommodating and all was easily resolved. Waitress was pleasant! Mimosa was delicious! Overall we had a great experience and will definitely be back.

4 solids yup, delicious sandwiches served up with a turned up nose, perfect for the area. gawf gawf. i thought weekapaug was elitist obvious WH wanted some action on that statement. ok, i find myself moving away from the review and more into a socioeconomic research report, my bad. took the brood for lunch, not my idea, ive never been, but mer has, i guess its a staple is these dunes. rumor has it, WH's very own very public/private girl comes here every so often too.... i had the italian (roast beef with balsamic and fresh mozzarella hot pressed) mer had the turkey pressed sandwich with caramelized onions. kids had kid things. it was fantastic, no issues with the food. of course it cost exactly what a summer rental lunch would cost in these parts (dont ask, dont think about it) i would go back, i gotta find my sperrys first though

If Taylor Swift eats here - it's probably worth the wait to get in (and yes, she was eating there when we stopped in!) This restaurant is everything I love about restaurants. Great brunch menu. Specialty/prepared food, cheese and pastries up front. Quaint, cottage, beach-like feel to it. We really enjoyed our experience here. We stopped by on a Sunday around 11:00 for brunch. Had to wait about 25 minutes for a table but the stacks of newspapers by the front kept us occupied. Once seated, I ordered an orange/raspberry mimosa and the Cajun eggs Benedict (cornbread, andouille sausage, grilled tomato, poached eggs and old bay hollandaise). They had a great selection of Benedicts - ranging from traditional, to Italian, to beach-inspired ones. I always opt for eggs Benedict when I'm out because it's not something I would normally cook at home - but my sisters' and cousin's egg sandwiches and corned beef hash looked pretty amazing as well. The Cooked Goose also serves lunch - and the array of sandwiches looked great - a bit gourmet but again, that's right up my alley. Looks like it would be a great spot to stop and pick up a sandwich on my way to the beach - which I'll keep in mind the next time I head to Misquamicut.

YUM! Go here for breakfast. Seriously! We had to wait about 30 minutes, but it was totally worth it. You're able to buy coffee or baked goods while you wait if you need a little caffeine or a little snack to hold you over. Parking is definitely rough because the parking lot isn't that large and the place gets quite crowded with people waiting for tables. When we were leaving it seemed as though some people had just resorted to parking on the road once the lot filled up. I ended up having the Breakfast Club (two eggs any style -- I did scrambled, cheese, lettuce, tomato, bacon, 3 slices of bread). It was delicious. I've had lots of breakfast sandwiches in my day, and when I finished this once I just wanted another one! Not because I was still hungry -- I was 100% full -- but because it was so delicious. Everything else on the menu looked so delicious, as well. Every member of the staff that I encountered was friendly, and the place had a nice vibe to it. Someone told me that apparently Taylor Swift and Conan O'Brien have been spotted here (not together!), too. If you're in the area, definitely check out The Cooked Goose! Their menu said breakfast was served until 11:30 -- so be sure to get there early enough!

I can imagine that this place is jammed during the summer. Comfortable, great decor and amazing food made for a tremendous Sunday morning. I've been meaning to make this Scott Connant recipe for fontina trufffled eggs. Wouldn't ya know, it's basically the house specialty here. It was rich, flavorful with a clean presentation. Fresh jacketed potatoes that were seasoned perfectly made a great pairing. I could see this becoming a regular thing... welll maybe not in August.

This place was amazing! Best egg salad sandwiches this side of the Mississippi my friend told me. I ordered two foot long Chicago dogs, and saved one for the plane ride home. Boy were the other guys in Seats 21 A and B jealous! We ate outside on a lovely veranda. Inside was an enormous case of deliciousness that I would have ordered one of each had I not been expected to fly home the next morning. It was rather busy, but service was great.

Found this place when looking to grab lunch after running a 5k down in Westerly. Everything about the place is great! Food was delicious. I had a chicken club with french fries and N.E. clan chowder to start. We sat at a nice counter area and got seated immediately. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone.

The place has a great ambiance, and our server was super nice. The food, however, was just very boring. I am a breakfast lover...coffee was 'eh", home fries were plain and eggs tasted processed. After all the hype I have read & heard about this place, i was highly disappointed. It certainly wasn't bad, it just wasn't worth a second shot.

My boyfriend and I went here for breakfast today and it was delicious! They have a unique breakfast menu, with different kinds of eggs benedict and french toasts. I got the mexican eggs benedict and my boyfriend got the smoked salmon eggs benedict, they both tasted great. The servers were friendly and the food came out quickly even thought it was fairly busy. We had multiple people come up to us and ask us how are food was. I would definitely go back there.

We stopped here on our way to the Ocean House and were blown away by the service and food. Our waiter, George, was inviting, helpful, and attentive. He was patient as we debated what we would get and we ultimately decided on the "CMR" and "the Oscar," both of which were phenomenal. Paired with a locally brewed beer, it was a lunch to remember. We would come back here in a heartbeat. The crunchy munchie cookie is the perfect way to finish a great lunch!

My friend took me to this fine establishment for my birthday. I love the fact that the menu is eclectic, you can eat outside or in, or take it to go. My friend knows that going to places with unique things to eat is right up my alley. So, The Cooked Goose did not disappoint. There is usually a crowd there or waiting to eat so you must be patient when you go! I personally didn't like the coffee but then again, I usually don't like anything unless I have ground and brewed it myself. Near to Watch Hill and the beach, this is a great place to have your breakfast or lunch.

Still as great as I last remember, but this time, I ordered the eggs Florentine but forgot to ask for it without hollandaise. This hollandaise was perhaps the exception to all others. Super light and lemony, you really only should use a touch, because it's so decadent.

Great little cafe. Had an iced coffee and breakfest sandwich for about 6 bucks and got to enjoy myself on their great couches. Food was good. Turns out we ended up frequenting this esstablishment multiple times throughout the weekend, the visits just got better and better. I would highly recommend this establishment for a relaxed breakfast and quaint atmosphere.

My boyfriend was in town for a bachelor party - while we were sharing the room I had some free time to work and I stopped in to The Cooked Goose on a Sunday morning to have breakfast for one. I really lucked out. The Wait: There was a crazy number of people waiting for breakfast - a good sign that they're a popular local institution, but kind of a long wait (estimated 45min). Luckily I was there by myself and I had some reading to do. They have this wonderful self-serve coffee bar where you can grab a cup yourself in a to-go cup so you have something to sip on while you wait. I grabbed a cup (really good coffee) and settled myself at an old butcher block they have in their deli area and read for about 10 minutes before the wonderful hostess found me a spot at the counter. The Food: I ordered the lobster benedict which was awesome!!! Instead of an english muffin the lobster comes on a french loaf that is just crusty enough but light and fluffy in the center - not so soft that it gets soggy with the hollandaise. I am not a fan of potatoes in general so I was surprised that I loved the potatoes. Really creamy and potato-ey red skin potatoes - if you're into toasty starchy potatoes it might not be your cup of tea. I loved them! The lobster was not over-cooked, heated just right. I would easily order that the next time I have breakfast there. The Sequel: After breakfast I met up with my boyfriend who quickly became jealous of my solo breakfast experience. He ended up having breakfast with the bachelor party and it was so-so at best. A few hours later I took him back to The Goose for lunch. The wonderful hostess even remembered my name! Lunch wasn't as busy. After a 10 minute wait we were seated. My bf ended up ordering the crab cake sandwich and I ordered their Aphrodite which is essentially a lox bagel sandwich with a whitefish salad. BEST. LOX. SANDWICH. EVER. I've been to a famous bagel place in NY (rhymes with Burray's) and it's not even worth comparing - The Goose's Aphrodite kills it! Everything was so balanced. The smoke from the salmon works with the whitefish which lends a creamy dreamy salt experience. I have an onion sensitivity that usually leads me to get migraines from having raw onions, but I was able to eat the red onions here - very mild. The acidic punch from the capers worked well from the more rounded richness from the whitefish salad and the bagel did not overwhelm in texture or density. The Team: The Cooked Goose operates like a well-oiled machine. Everyone in the front of the house was so seasoned and had great personalities. Judging from how quickly our orders came to our table I can only imagine that back of the house is nothing less than a well-regimented unit as well, and a great expo makes it all happen. Even the busser was stealth like Batman. The best places are worth waiting for and I look forward to dining at The Cooked Goose again.

Stopped here for lunch after going to the beach. I had the Captain Kirk which is a basil cashew chicken salad wrap with an avocado spread and it was the best chicken salad I've eaten. I had to buy a lb of it before we left.

I have yet to try this place for breakfast, which I hear is amazing, but they definitely make great sandwiches! The Captain Kirk is the best chicken salad I've ever had. Oh and their version of a BLT, I think they use a half pound of bacon!!

There's plenty of outdoor seating so the waiting time was 5 minutes on a Monday 10AM. We both ordered the lobster benedict, which was delicious. It could use a little more helping of lobster. Coffee with croissants was a fine choice as well. Our dog could confirm this because he know his croissants. Friendly & excellent service! We came back for lunch on Wednesday, ordered the cobb salad, three sandwiches ( crab cake, Italian beef & Oscar), a coffee cake, cookies and lemonade. Delicious and good size portions. This place is really growing on me. Super-friendly & great service. Definitely worth the drive, by car or boat.

I love the Cooked Goose. Every time I come to Watch Hill I eat here on Sunday mornings. First thing I love is their raspberry jelly - always get that if you're getting toast with your breakfast. I've had a good selection of their food in the times that I've been there, but I would have to say my favorite was the breakfast burrito. Plenty of filling in it, just a great tasting breakfast. I recommend the Goose (and the Sea Goose) for anyone coming through.

Went down to Westerly for the day. Not a lot open this time of year. Found the Cooked Goose. First, the restaurant is very clean, open and bright with nice decor! We started with a dozen oysters- super fresh! Next was the lobster bisque. Big chunks of lobster! I had the Cajun seafood salad. Delicious! My husband had the fish and chips! Also, excellent! Spicy, Bloody Mary Martinis! Highly recommend! Now I want to try brunch!

Yeah, this place is great. Gets crowded but for a good reason. sandwiches are fresh , good wine, and super breakfast. These guys work hard and it shows. They also have take out food which is excellent. Nicely done !!!!!

The brunch here is great and their takeaway baked goods are also awesome. The portions are huge so come hungry!! The downside is that the overwhelming WASPy atmosphere the place takes on in the summer is hard to stomach (sitting outside if it's nice is definitely a good idea). It's not surprising since it's near Watch Hill but prepare for a lot of pastel. Or go once the tourists leave.

Delicious food, great selection of pre made salads, deserts, pies and cheese. They have a sit down area, we ordered at the counter and took our food to the beach. The cookies were so perfect, buttery crumbly and chocolatey! I had the key lime pie too and the crust was so delicious; it had such a delicious homemade flavor. My boyfriends sandwich was amazing too. Yes, I can't wait to go back and try some other things on the menu. And more cookies too!!!

Great little local place! Prices were reasonable, food was hot and tasty and service was good. If it was a little quicker it would have been nice but I def don't mind waiting a little for great food.

We set out to find casual seaside dining in Watch Hill on our way to the Providence airport. Our trip to New England was coming to an end, but we needed one more lunch outside. Sadly, we didn't find anything seaside. But as we were heading back to 95 we came across the Cooked Goose. Turns out we were lucky not to have found anything in Watch Hill. The Goose was great! Outdoor seating, friendly and efficient service, cute ambiance inside, and delicious food. We only had burgers and veggie burgers, but they were delicious. I always love a good burger, and I was not disappointed. The bun, brioche, was perfectly toasted. The hamburger itself was cooked just as I requested and was very juicy. We will definitely stop by the Goose again next time we're in town. Highly recommend!!

I adore this place! I only have gone here for breakfast and I have never been disappointed! I usually order the Lobster Egg Benedict. It's so rich and filling. This past trip I ate the Mexican eggs Benedict. Also, amazing! You really can't beat it for the service and the price! They also have wonderful pastries! The crunchy munchie cookie and pumpkin whoopie pie is nothing short of amazing! Although, keep in mind this place does get busy.. it's worth the wait!

Went there for breakfast past week and the place was full. Still, we were seated within minutes and the server was prompt as well. The grilled blueberry muffin, house omelette and vanilla almond french toast were to kill for. Even the coffee was brewed perfectly. All in all, a great start to the day.

While I have only been here for breakfast I always leave satisfied. I try to order something different but I can't the Mexican eggs Benedict are just to good, I did have an omelette once and I picked a few meats and was surprised that it was filled with the meats and they did not skimp out at all. We always have good service even the few times it has been busy we don't run out of coffee or water and our server is always friendly. It's a very good breakfast for a good price and if you just want a snack go there and get a crunchy munchie cookie you won't regret it they are excellent

We stopped by on an early Spring morning for our first visit, arriving just in time for lunch. We had a lobster roll, made perfectly the just enough mayo to hold it all together, and their Captain Kirk chicken salad on a croissant. Both were excellent. For dessert I can never resist bread pudding. Get it with the homemade whipped cream. It is so thick it is like ice cream. My wife had the rhubarb crumble and it was also very well done. Delicious. We will make a trip to the Cooked Goose, about a two hour ride each way, again. It is now going to become a destination for us, instead of the nasty touristy places in the center of Watch Hill.

Cooke Goose has been a family favorite for many years. Its one of the few places that is opened all year round. Which really helps out as we live in RI for a good part of the year.. While they only serve Breakfast and Lunch they recently opened another restaurant called the Sea Goose opened up this past summer which is also fantastic. The breakfast and lunch options are really great and affordable.. They also cater which our family has partake in. The owners are so wonderful and have done so much for the community. Just thinking about is making my mouth water!

My family and I just got back from a week long trip from Westerly. I have been taking trips to the area since I was a kid and returned this year with my husband and 4 month old daughter. Our first stop was the Cooked Goose for lunch. We ended up eating here 6 more times! The food did not disappoint and the staff was super accommodating and friendly. With a little one with us it was important that the service was quick but we never felt rushed. If you're looking for a family friendly breakfast or lunch spot with delicious food this is the place for you! I pretty much worked my way though the menu eating 2 of their 5 types of eggs benedict (traditional, lobster, salmon, florentine, mexican), corned beef hash and eggs, and the special Elvis french toast. Everything was really fresh and delicious. I especially liked the italian toast with their homemade strawberry jam (they have several types of that too!). Can't wait to come back next summer!

Makes summer in Watch Hill just that much more enjoyable. The food is always very good and the service excellent. Our two dogs (Chocolate Lab & mini Dacshund ) feel right at home on the terrace. One of our favorite breakfast and lunch establishments anywhere.

My second time at the Cooked Goose. The atmosphere is relaxed, food service is quick to deliver, and the overall prices really can't be beat. I recently tried the Cheese Sandwich with goat cheese, ham and caramelized onions and wasn't too thrilled with the overall experience, but I did really enjoy their special cheese sandwich with turkey and cranberry sauce. It's a great place to go when you don't have much time on your hands. Hard to find a table around 1pm, but judging by the number of elderly people in the place, I always make a positive judgement that they know what's good to eat and where to go :)

FANTASTIC!!!! I am not usually one to gush on sandwich shops, but this place is great. Great location, service was very good (prompt, accurate friendly...). Their food (Roast Beef and CRM) was great. Everything fresh and top quality product. The Manager was very friendly and interactive. The prices were very, very reasonable. Oh, did I mention that they use... wait for it ... actual Maple Syrup. Yes, I said it, the real deal. Why? Because they think there product is that good that it only deserves the best condiments. So, this is a little secret I will let your fellow Yelpers in on. Get the Strawberry Shortcake. In fact, order it as an appetizer. I am going to step out on a limb and say that this is probably one of the best SS I have ever had. I know that is going to open me up for some pot shots, so all I ask is that if you have had theirs and think there is one better, send me a note. I would love to find it.

Phenomenal top notch breakfast. Been here many times and never been disappointed by anything on the breakfast menu. Eggs Benedict is my favorite but the omelets are all very good as well and my wife likes the pastries. The servers are all very polite and helpful but I agree with a previous reviewer that the clientele is pretentious... but hey, it's Watch Hill so what did you expect?

I enjoy the Cooked Goose. I've been there multiple times, for both breakfast and lunch. In a town full of seasonal stores and restaurants, the Cooked Goose is open year round. Breakfast is my favorite meal- and the Cooked Goose doesn't disappoint. The french toast is really good, and I enjoy the breakfast sandwiches. They're on big, fresh bagels. The sausage is link style, but thicker than normal. When I'm having lunch, I enjoy the roast beef sandwich, or the lobster roll. Both are really tasty. The staff is always pleasant; we've had an especially good waitress the last few times my family has been there. They have a small market area where they sell prepared foods. When I need to pick up a quick meal, I love to stop in and get the macaroni and cheese. It's really good! Other little Cooked Goose tidbits: they have free wi-fi; in the winter the fireplace seating area is a real treat, and they'll reserve your newspaper for you and keep them on hand if you like. I enjoy going to the Cooked Goose, and if you haven't been there, I think you should try it.

Motorcycle ride and impromptu lunch stop was such a perfect idea! Sat outside and ate a wonderful lunch... Quiche was fantastic, my husband has a " very good" hot pastrami sandwich with steak fries ... We enjoyed fresh coffee with delicious home made peach cobbler ! If your in the area we would definitely recommend you stop in!

There are liars and then there are thieves. There are rats and then there are snakes. They heap the bacon on like the Ancient Romans used to. It's wonderful. The lobster benedict is the best in New England. There's an old saying in my family "let liars hang themselves with their lies. They'll do it every time." The Cooked Goose was no different. We caught them in a facile web. A web even the most dimwitted would've have sniffed out in no time. But the eggs were cooked perfectly. Still, they lied and piled fib on top of half-truth. I must say though, the food was marvelous. And I'll most certainly be back to dine again, fishing for more deceit. Goose, cooked.

Service was nice but everything was very polite. Cozy little place- kind of reminds me of a cottage type setting, but also has a beach feel. Very welcoming whatever it is. Seating inside and out. Bathrooms were very cute and clean. Only issue there is one per sex. I had the chicken buffalo sandwich special. It was dripping with hot sauce and blue cheese. The chicken was a homemade chicken patty- looked like a very large crap cake. The sauce would have been better if it was not placed directly on the steamy hot party. It sauce the sauce to actually melt. Very very messy but good. It came with sweet potato fries. The chicken blt was large also. Very tasty. The chicken ceasar salad was large. Price slightly high but to be expected given the location and season. GPS gets you within a block but not just let to the restaurant. It would get 4 stars except for the slow servers.

I stopped here for lunch today with my mother on the way back from a walk at Napatree Point. We got there around 1:30 and it was very busy, but there was plenty of parking and a couple of seats available at the counter, so we sat there. We were hoping for soup but there were no vegetarian options today. That said, the menu in general is pretty accommodating to vegetarians, especially for the area. We ordered the Baby Organic Greens Salad, a Grilled Cheese Sandwich with fontina, tomato and caramelized onions and a side of Sweet Potato Fries. Everything was so so delicious. The sweet potato fries were just the right amount of crispy and putting caramelized onions on a grilled cheese might be the best idea ever. I was impressed by the portion sizes which were not wasteful and small enough that we managed to eat everything without wanting to die (but still totally satisfying.) Sitting at the counter is a slightly awkward experience because there's so much staff around that you feel like you should be making conversation. Our waitress seemed very tired, and frustrated when we decided to order coffees after our meal (it was much quieter in the restaurant at that point, so it wasn't that they needed our seats.) You won't get a glass of water unless you ask for it, and their drinks are served in plastic cups, which I'm not a fan of. We planned on getting a dessert to go, but when we looked at them in the case, nothing appealed to us. I'll definitely be back, but I think I'll wait for a table next time.

My favorite breakfast spot in Westerly! Spot on service and the owners are just wonderful. George has to be the best waiter I've ever experienced! The pancake specials are the best! Lemon Ricotta or the Fresh Corn Pancakes are a must try! The apple crisp is the most perfect I've ever tried. I could go on....

We had a wonderful lunch on the patio looking at the little bay across the street. It is also pleasant inside. Their lobster salad roll was the best of our trip, and my husband loved his turkey sandwich on H.M. bread. The cherry pie was so good I could cry for missing it now. It had the perfect crispy and flakey crust and tart filling...YUM! Cant' wait to get back. I just wish that they were open for dinner.

We've had lunch here twice, and have been pleased both times. Some things: 1. Delicious salads: the Spinach Salad and Cobb Salad are both amazing and filling. 2. Great french fries--and gluten-free! Even though they don't look it. 3. The Captain Kirk chicken salad with cashews and basil was so good that Alexis ordered it twice. 4. They have a cute little take out/prepared foods area, and you can take out anything from the restaurant. 5. The service was great--definitely a "summer job" kind of place, but all really sweet. If you're looking for delicious, slightly high-end salads and sammies, or you're a lady who lunches, this is the place for you.

good food, friendly, open ambiance. lots of open outdoor seating. lots of indoor seating. fun deli atmosphere. not a very extensive brunch menu, but well-done. unfortunately, they don't make their own hash browns, but they do make their mushroom omelets with marinated mushrooms, which is beautiful. they serve bottomless coffee. i liken the food quality to that of kitchen little, except kitchen little is probably cheaper, and the cooked goose takes credit cards, unlike kitchen little, if i remember right. coffee is better at the cooked goose. i'd go back!

Great food and great service right by the water in Westerly. It might seem like a summer place, but The Cooked Goose is open year-round; in fact, I have an annual Christmas Eve brunch date with a friend from high school. Their breakfast items are truly to die for; everything from homemade eggs benedict to bagels and lox. The service is always great. Having moved hundreds of miles away, this is one of the places I miss most in Westerly. Go get a sandwich and take it with you to the beach; you won't regret it.

first of all...this has always been a favorite place of ours for breakfast and lunch...the locations is great, the décor is very beachy, the food is outstanding.....but this past Sunday, we took our two girls (5 and 3) there for breakfast.....the place was packed but they handled it very smoothly (as always) and we sat and ordered....my 5 year old ordered pancakes and when the chef came out with the dish, he not only placed with a smile, he cut up and pancakes and poured syrup on them! she ate everything with a big smile and is still talking about it for days later! we loved this place before and we love it even more now. the staff is so friendly, the food is so good and the owners are so very nice. we recommend this place to all our friends! not the cheapest place around but it is worth every penny

I dunno whats with the reviews for this place but this place is for locals. We waited 20 minutes to sit (which we thought was a good sign because it was busy) and the place looked so cute and smelled delicious. Once we got our table, the waitress took our drink order and then disappeared for 15 minutes while she took two other tables' orders who arrived way after us. The owner came out to chat with one of the tables so it was obvious they were local and considered more important than us. By the time we finally got our lobster Benedict's, our 1 year old son was so fussy we were barely able to eat. My egg whites were raw but I didn't bother to complain because I didn't want to wait another 45 minutes for new eggs and we couldn't find our waitress anyways. Our waitress never smiled, never asked if we needed something or how the food was. She tossed our check on the table without a word. Atrocious, rude service.

I have always loved The Cooked Goose for breakfast /lunch, but was turned off today. I brought my friend for a light birthday lunch. I ordered my same quiche & fruit that I always enjoy. The quiche was very small, crust was broken, and v mediocre on flavor. My friend's Caesar salad was sparse, soggy, and was presented poorly. The bowl made it look like half a salad. We each had ice teas that lacked ice and weren't even a full glass. We couldn't complain because our waitress never came back until we were finished...v disappointed.

I had high hopes because walking in this place you feel like it is going to be the best breakfast in the world. Unfortunately the coffee was average, the vanilla French Toast was good not great...the potatoes were excellent. Menu was better than the food. Good enough? Yes. Not bad.

I love the Cooked Goose. I think the main reason is because everyone is always so friendly. It really is the only good place for brunch and there's always awesome daily specials. the salmon benedict is really good for brunch and the tuna melt is great too!

  • Pete B.

The Goose simply rules for breakfast. Food and service are both excellent. Basic dishes like hash and eggs are as good as the specials, and the bread is always excellent as well. The coffee service is the icing on the cake. They could mail it in for the offseason, but they don't. Everyone gets treated like they are a local, and it seems like most of the time that isn't hard because the locals know how good it is and eat there often. I don't think it is going out on a limb to say that you will have a hard time finding a better breakfast place. If being crowded and having to wait is a problem then eat somewhere that isn't as good! Great choice.

The Cooked Goose is a cute little place to get lunch that's just OK but served with a smile. It's away from the hubbub of Watch Hill (if you can call that hubbub) and seems like it's popular with the locals. We had brought my boyfriend's 96 year old grandmother in and while there was a wait, they were quick to make her comfortable for the 15 minutes or so she'd be waiting. I hear Conan O'Brien comes here because his parents live nearby but that's just a rumor. Onto the food... and that's where it goes downhill for me. I got the special, which was a Monte Cristo. A Monte Cristo is supposed to be ham & cheese dipped like french toast and flash fried, then dabbled with a little powdered sugar and served with maple syrup. It's delicious and I'm always excited when I see it on the menu. Very unfortunately, this was not a Monte Cristo. It was a ham & cheese sandwich on french toast and with no maple syrup. There was nothing very rewarding about it and I really wished I'd gotten something else.

Lobster salad sandwich was skimpy, but fresh tasting. Crabcake sandwich decent but not shockingly good. Service was good. Arnold Palmer's were refreshing. Clientele seemed a bit uppity - but then again, that's the area.

I stopped by one recent Sunday morning. Nice place to have breakfast or lunch. I sat near the window and enjoyed the view of the boat yard and little Narragansett Bay right across the street. My sandwich was very good - bagel with cream cheese, smoked salmon, whitefish salad and tomato. In the corner there is a working fireplace, 6 (or so) stuffed chairs and a chessboard. I wonder if people come and sit around the fireplace and have breakfast. Of course, everyone is welcome but I get the feeling they cater to the moneyed set from Watch Hill - the Sunday New York Times was at the door. Also wondered why they offered full bottles of wine (besides glasses of wine) on the menu. After all, this is a breakfast and lunch place. Can't wait to go back.

Really delicious! Joined a friend for breakfast & the eggs Benedict was absolutely perfect. The menu had wonderful options- plan on taking the family back next week for breakfast/brunch. Wonderful looking baked goods in the counter as well along with delicious looking cheese selection. I can't wait to go back. I bet this place gets crowded on the weekends!

Great spot. Good food. Love the chicken salad. Service is good and I usually stop by if I'm in the area. Not touristy it's really the spot for the summer residents to get food and grab a coffee. This place isn't a place to go for a deal. It's where I go because I like the easy going upscale atmosphere with gourmet treats. It's comparable to Mystic Market, in Mystic, CT

We liked this place so much, we went twice. The food was really fresh and well prepared. The french fries were small wedges with a crispy coating and really good seasoning. I had quiche with the green salad and the salad was the best part! Mesclun with tomatoes, candies pecans, dried cherries, and goat cheese. Yummmm. The interior of the restaurant was cute as a button and rustic. Very cozy and friendly feeling. Outdoor seating was in the front of the place and it faced the harbor, so you get a view of boats and water.

A cute little breakfast, lunch, and brunch place that also serves up some really tasty prepared foods to go. Gets a lot of summer house people stopping in for prepared dinners (much better stuff than the prepared foods you get at grocery stores). Some simple but good breakfasts and some filling sandwiches. Good place for a casual meal. Not open for dinner.
