I'll be very sorry when the season ends and one my favorite sandwich shop closes. Where else will I get meat piled high? Where will I get such fresh quality meat on my sandwich, with a generous portion of their cheese spread? This not Subway, this is the "REAL DEAL". When you go to Watch Hill and you need a sandwich for the beach- this is where you go.

The lobster roll was good but needed a few more items in it. Maybe some lettuce or some sort of greens. Toasting a bread roll and adding some mayonnaise did't do it for me. The clear clam chowder was really good. Had a lot of clams and not to many potatoes.

Great hot lobster rolls! Good iced coffee. Meatball aub was tasty. Chowder just ok not good. Steak sub was ok but not good. Yummy choc chip cookies fresh out of the oven.

Small cold lobster roll was $15.99. They don't douse the lobster roll in mayo, so that's a huge plus. It was the "purest" lobster roll I've ever had! Very tasty. At 2pm, there was not much of a line. We got our sandwiches pretty quickly. I just wish there were more spaces to sit!

Great breakfast sandwich. Egg bacon cheese in the brioche roll is terrific. Can't comment on anything else. Not a fancy place

Stopped in for clam chowder right before closing. Soup was tasty, but the old woman that works there was nasty and visibly upset because they were ready to close. She literally was throwing things! Needless to say, next time Im in Watch Hill, I'll head to Ten Sandwiches instead. I imagine they'll be happy with the customers....

A 17 dollar lobster roll should not include bread that is moldy. Not a little speck, but a quarter size blotch on the underside. I noticed it about 1/2 way through the roll. Yum.

Hot butter lobster roll...you say those four words to me, and thanks to Bay Street Deli, I will have a pavlovian drool response. I don't have New England roots so my main experiences with lobster rolls are the ones served cold in mayo in New York restaurants that charge them for almost $30. With its hot butter lobster roll, Bay Street revealed certain truths to me: First, lobster rolls taste just as good if not better when they are doused in hot butter compared to the cold, mayo-y kind. Which way you choose your lobster roll done is a matter of how you feel, but the universal fact is both taste amazing. Why more places in New York do not provide the hot buttered option is simply tragic... Second, lobster rolls are simply better on a butter-griddled hot dog bun than on any other bread-holder. Bay Street's bun was crispy and buttery, and it provided the perfect pedestal for the thick claws and lobster meat erupting from the bread. It was just as appealing to my eyes as it was to my stomach. No more lobster rolls in hamburger buns for me (well, maybe Mermaid is an exception). Last, the era of lobster shacks is over, and the era of lobster delis will soon reign. Bay Street shatters the preconception that good, cheap seafood can only be found in isolated shacks in New England. I walked into Bay Street and it looked like just a regular deli with cold cuts in the glass counter, soda bottles in the refrigerated glass case, and a menu with sandwiches written in chalk/marker. The deli was also located on a main drag in Westerly. However, the $14 "small" hot butter lobster roll was one of tastiest seafood dishes I have ever eaten.

Debated between three and four stars... I would recommend this place but it's nothing absolutely spectacular. I saw the review of the lobster roll being amazing so I decided to go with the large. It was very good and I did inhale it, however I've had far better rolls. They put a fair amount of lobster on and the bun was only pretty good... Nothing to write home about.

Had the raved about hot lobster roll. Decent amount of meat and nice big fresh chunks at that. Overall however, the experience was greatly brought down by the awful bread. It was a dry, seemingly almost stale, un-grilled roll. I like my lobster rolls on fresh, soft hot dog buns with crispy, buttery, grilled sides. Fix the bread and you'll have a winner (in my opinion).

You can't go to Watch Hill without stopping at the Bay Street Deli! The lobster rolls are simply the best. Just real yummy lobster meat and a bit of mayo or butter, depending on whether you want it hot or cold. They have other sandwiches available, and baked goods too that always look tasty... but I always go for the lobster rolls. Soooo good. It's a mom and pop place, and either mom or pop or both are always there. There are a few tables, 1 or 2 indoors and maybe 3 on the sidewalk. But hey, you're in Watch Hill. Grab your sandwich and go eat it on the beach! Funny the other reviewer mentions Conan O'Brien, because his picture is now up on the wall, along with Mark Wahlberg.

The number 2 (turkey sandwich with sprouts) was really really tasty! The combination of the spread & the cheese made it even better. These sandwiches are quite large with generous portions of meat. For those who are lighter eaters, you could probably share a sandwich. Great for taking with you out to the beach.

Maybe you go for the lobster rolls, but definately will not go to this dive again. Simply because the owner was so rude & gruff. I asked for the chicken ceaser wrap with tomatoes. The very large rude man says... "no tomatoes - we make 'em like we make 'em". Really nasty. On top of that the wrap was barely acceptable at best. Give your $$ to another establishment who actually wants to provide & serve their customers.

I was told that the lobster rolls here are GREAT and my friend did not steer me wrong! It was mouth-wateringly, savor-every-bite, delicious! Made fresh after you order and the lobster chunks are meaty and succulent. The bread is warm and soft. MMM...I will be dreaming about this place forever. My only regret is that I didn't get the large roll. I still kick myself. The lobster is sauteed in butter in the "hot" roll. That's the one I got and it's so freaking good. Words don't do it justice. I didn't try the "cold" roll but it's made with mayo. I think the price was $11 something for the small and $13 something for the large. Quite a steal considering the sub-par lobster rolls I find in the Bay Area go for $15+. The owner told me that I just missed Conan O'Brien by an hour. It's good to know that he is a fellow lobster roll fan. I am in pain just talking about it. I must go kick myself some more for not buying a LARGE. Go there, it's unbelievable!

I am still dreaming about the hot lobster roll (naked-style)... pure heaven! Oh how I wish I could have you in the Bay Area. This little, unassuming deli puts Bay Area lobster rolls to shame!
