The parking lot attendant is the best employee in the place. He's the only reason why I don't rate lower. He seems to be the only person that knows how to address someone respectfully. My wife and I have been going here for 14 years off and on, sometimes two to three times a year. What's nice about it is you pay $10.00 to park your car and get $5.00 back in coupons. We always get up early and drive from northern Connecticut to get the breakfast buffet. It's not the best breakfast in town and if it's after 09:30 the food isn't very well maintained. The best bet is to get there right at opening otherwise you might get what other people don't want. We like the beach front. It's nice to have a beach house at the shore that has a rear entrance to the bar for lunch. Really it's nothing special. Anybody that owns a place on the beach could do the exact same thing for little expense. I've never actually stayed overnight at the hotel but my brother stayed here a year ago after I suggested it. He said he wouldn't return due to the restaurant quality. My wife never cared for the dinner menu either so we've never ordered anything besides lunch appetizers. If it were not for the beach front and the breakfast we would have likely gone else ware. The July 30, 2012 visit turned out to be a disaster. We arrived around 8am. After getting the breakfast and then swimming spending the morning on the beach front, we went up to the bar around noon for drinks and a snack. We also like to play keno and then move on to another place for better food. My wife went to the ladies room. Both bartenders were engaged in a private conversation so I waited 5 minutes and then asked if the bar was open. After getting their attention letting her know I wanted some food and drinks I had to wait an additional 5 minutes for menus which I had to borrow from another customer at the bar. Another hour went by and we were still at the bar with food and drinks and playing keno and my wife gave the tender the wrong keno ticket to renew. She tried to stop her and she wouldn't respond so I raised my voice (she was only 6 feet away) and all hell broke loose. She became irate and started screaming at the top of her lungs saying I had no right yelling at her and then stormed off. When it came time to pay the bill and wrote ZERO where the tip goes, showed it to her, and stuck my middle finger up in her face. Needless to say I'm not welcome back at Andrea's any more..

It is what it is. Solid food during the day, waterfront hotspot at night. The servers are friendly and hustling, and you can dance or hang out to the sounds of Black Eyed Peas and Ke$ha (but the crowd didn't seem to mind). A step up from Paddy's if that is what you are looking for. Free parking lot and plenty of it. Needs more bathrooms.

I can see this place perhaps being a good choice if you want to party on the beach through the wee hours and either crash elsewhere or party so hard that you can stumble upstairs and "sleep" through the morning commotion described below. As for actually using it as a HOTEL, I cannot recommend it. The partying mentioned above goes on past midnight and it seemed every sound was channelled by the claustrophobically narrow hallways to our room. In the morning, these tight spaces with impossibly thin walls served to amplify the noises from the free-range children that were running the halls, and made encountering a family coming the other way with beach chairs a sort of metal tango of death. Our experiences during this stay made my wife and I swear off the Andrea (and having kids for at least a few years).

This review is solely for the bar area and the two star rating is attributed to the DJ, who was lousy. Otherwise I'd have awarded The Andrea at least a three and possibly even higher based on location since it is right on the beach, multiple bar environments (inside, outside on the patio, and outside in the enclosed patio with an additional bar), and a decent beer selection as well as a $5 margarita special that was drinkable and cost efficient. They have lots of tables, a mixed ages crowd, and average ambience. I would actually give it another shot because I had a fairly humorous time here, but the DJ kept playing utterly undancable 90's tunes and didn't even want to play requests, so skip it if music is important to your night out. Otherwise this place has potential at least to be an awesomely bad experience.

Went last night for the first time since Hurricane Sandy and was pleased with how it looks, it still has a similar set up. I call this place the old persons Paddy's as it is right on the beach and is down the street from Paddy,s. This place draws an older crowd and is family friendly. The lobster tacos and ahi-tuna was excellent, drinks were mixed well and service was friendly, prompt and attentive even though it was very busy.

The asparagus fries with pepper jack fondue are amazing. But we were unimpressed with the mixed specialty drinks. For almost $9 for a 12 oz frozen drink, you'd expect it to be tasty. It was boring and lacking all ingredients. I guess the bartender is no mixologist. Just order beer and wine. You'll surely not be disappointed then.

Great place to party at! Plus they have great food!

The location is perhaps the best part of this place - if you fell out the back door you are literally on the beach. The menu in the restaurant was definitely more than we expected walking in the door. The service was pretty good and also more than we expected coming in the front door. Music was a little loud inside - I strongly suggest eating outside on the back patio. This place is definitely a party on Friday and Saturday nights - I agree with other reviews - the DJ was fairly lame but overall a good party atmosphere. It may get crowded later on in the night, but we left around 11pm and it wasn't too bad.

Ok, Andrea's is in Southeastern New England so you can't get away from the pervasiveness of Whiskey Tango. Notwithstanding, this place was great! I went this past Thursday and Friday night. The place was much busier than Paddy's both nights and it seemed as though the crowd was a bit older which I like. Anyhow, it's directly on the beach so if you meet that special someone you can go for a "walk on the beach" as my buddy Brian witnessed a few times as he was walking to the afterhours party we were invited to. He actually saw three full moons in one night! Anyhow, I think this is the best place for fun! Later, Jon

some local friends took me here as this is one of the places they go party. I went here on a Sat night and it was so crowded. Crowded to point you can barely walk without literally hitting someone. And if you're a local, this place ends being your high school reunion. There's a small dance floor and a DJ that sucked balls. He would play rock then instantly switch over to flashback from the 80's then the next song would be a top 20 hip hop song. Sooo annoying! The music was just all over the place you couldn't really get your dance on oh! and there wasn't even room! One interesting point to mention is that the dance floor is soooo dark. Darker than a typical club. And when you walk out to the patio (which is cool and HUGE) and you may be surprised to see what your dance partner looks like. Imagine that, you meet some dude/chick, get your groove on the dance floor and decide to go out on the beach for a walk but before you get there, you go through the patio where there's stadium lighting and suddenly change your mind. It's so freakin' bright out there it's odd. You can see every pore on the person standing next to you. But pretty much everyone here get so hammered no one cares. The only thing that is cool at this place is the fact you can walk along the beach as it's right behind the hotel.

Beautiful view, waves, and good music. First time here! Do not sit at a table on the deck and expect table service to be up to par, if any at all. My fiancé and I walked in and were told to seat ourselves. Come to find out that on a not so busy Monday, they are too busy to make it over to the table for drinks and apps! We went to the bar on our own and had 2 Malibu bay-breezes ($11) in a 10 ounce cup and 2 Newport blueberry beers, only ($6). Although we did not eat, I can say that we would not come back here for dinner, never- mind apps! Paddy's is just fine with me!

EXCELLENT FOOD. Much better than Paddy's! The ahi tuna tacos are simply amazing along with the fried calamari appetizer. Reasonable prices, generous portions, ocean front view.. What else could you ask for!

I love the Andrea, The Hotel isn't rebuilt but they impressively pulled together a restaurant and beach bar six months after removal of the old destroyed building. the seem to have moved the fireplace to the outdoor patio which is cool. I miss the pool table and the small arcade. But the atmosphere is as amazing as ever. The row of beach chairs in the sand where you can have a drink looking out over the ocean are a nice touch. I Just hope they bring back the breakfast buffet. And the seafood nachos.

You can get a nice meal here. The dining room is probably the prettiest on the strip and the food is very good. The service has been excellent every time I've been here. I had a fish sandwich that was excellent and some friends loved the mussels. The clam chowder is very good and the scallops are always great. This is a safe bet for sure. It's a little more dressy than some of the other local joints but not too formal for summer wear. You'll have a great meal and the views are amazing! Check this one out!

Though the Andrea is a hotel (by name anyway) it is best known as a bar! From late June to labor day, locals and tourists kick back with overpriced drinks, poor attempts at summer romance, and $1 jello shots. The crowd at the Andrea is always unpredictable... you arrive at 9 and its a family dinner crowd. An hour and a half later, you have 20 somethings getting sloppy. And they do get sloppy at the Andrea. The small crowded dance floor inside is always an interesting sight. I don't know why summer makes people forget that shirts REALLY aren't dresses. Wednesday is the famed baby bullet day where a miniature Coors Light is only $1. Groups purchase them by the bucket. Friday and Saturday nights have a $3 cover charge starting at 9, but parking is free at night. During the day I believe it is $20 to park, but you receive $10 Andrea bucks. I would suggest avoiding the mixed drinks however. They use a measured shot, so you'll pay $20+ dollars for 3-4 drinks with one shot of alcohol each. Beer and wine is the way to go at The Andrea. The Andrea is a good time if you are looking for a party, I'm not sure how it fairs as a place to sleep. I always have fun.

My husband and I thought we were staying at the hotel down one further and were quite disappointed with the accommodations at the Andrea. Oceanview room overlooked the parking lot which was very noisy at night. The old hotel really has no noise proofing so whenever the folks above you move you hear it. Wait staff in restaurant was great and food fair. Good beer deals. Nice outdoor patio right onto the beach. For the younger crowd probably just fine we won't stay again though.

My husband and I went to the Andrea last night for dinner. We ordered calamari and buffalo tenders as apps. The calamari was soggy and not edible. The buffalo tenders were clearly frozen and then they just put buffalo sauce on them. As we were sitting outside a waitress was cleaning off the table next to us where the customers had just left and was saying to another employee how she only got a $6.50 tip and her to stop sitting people outside because "it's not worth her time". We could clearly hear her. We then got our entres and at that time were pretty disgusted with this place so quickly picked at our food. Our waitress walked by us 3 times- didn't acknowledging that I was looking right at her trying to signal for the check. As the sun went down it got really cold and we felt annoyed as We walked by the unused heaters inside and the fireplace that was not lit near our table...knowing we couldn't get a servers attention to ask to turn it on we just wanted to get out of there. I would not recommend this restaurant. Awful atmosphere, staff that don't care, disgusting food. Waste of money.

So we hit up the Andrea after The Pleasant View house (see previous review)..and i was so mad we didnt have our dinner here!!! We had appetizers and drinks and I loved it! With the same beautiful view you get cool options like the seafood nachos loaded with seafood and fondue. A watermelon salad with feta cheese...something different if your all fish and chipped out...the place smelled good and we stayed for most of the night listening to music sipping cocktails! FUN

Friends wanted to go because of the view & atmosphere. The view is great- that is true. As for the place- took more than 20 minutes to get drinks, another 20 to get food- even though we ordered it when we ordered the drinks. They tried to remove our plates while we were still eating ("are you finished?" "No- still eating, thanks") then when they did take our plates, we asked for the check & then didn't see our waitress again for another 40 minutes despite asking more than 5 different employees if someone could find her and/or get our check. We will never go back again. Mediocre food, crappy service, screaming kids, does not equal a great evening out. My friend swears things are better if you sit at the bar rather than a table. I'll take her word on that.

We had friends w us tonight and they can't stop talking about it!! Seafood pasta, surf and turf, lobster salad, seafood bruschetta, portabella mushroom sandwich, all was great!! Our 4th time this week and not a complaint to be had!!! We will be back before they close for the season!!'

It's seat yourself seating, which might not be bad if it's not busy, but if it is you have to stand next to the dirty table to "claim" it and try and catch waitstaff to clean it off. Drinks are okay. Canned beer was good but would have been better if it was in bottles. I got Naraganssett thinking it was local, but it's brewed in Rochester, NY. Food was a little pricy for the quality but you're paying for being on a beach which was nice and relaxing. However, our kids and infant had to be entertained by it for over an hour and a half because that's how long it took for our food to be served. We got an apology and one appetizer taken off... bill was still over $100 plus tip - you'd think you'd get something more taken off for a wait like that. I could see if I was at a five star restaurant, not an mid scale beach bum restaurant.
