I ordered the Spicy Chicken combo and was astounded at how bland the entire dish was. The fried rice had no flavor whatsoever. The "spicy" chicken was incredibly bland...did they get my order wrong?? but who orders tastesless chicken? I am truly amazed how bad the food was because the place was pretty busy when I was there . Also, I got one of those drink specials and it came in some ridiculous porcelin cup and was no more than 8 ounces. Not good. Chens, not great, is so much better it amazes me peopl ecome here (although the decor is better than Chens). Stay away. I am not a tough critic.

Take-out not recommended. I've heard good things about this restaurant, but only got take-home. While the menu looked creative and interesting, everything I ordered was awful. Perhaps it would have been better straight from the kitchen to a table??? Not sure if I'll be bold enough to try. I love all kinds of food, but this stuff was barely edible. Starting with the soggy vegetable rolls, then the lo mein was just disgusting. Sorry...I don't like to write bad reviews, but I cannot recommend this for takeout. Atrocious.

The service was nice, but the food is not worth coming back for. We ordered the steamed dumplings to start and the dough tasted almost raw and the pork filling was very bland. They give complimentary wonton chips with 2 different sauces. The wonton chips would be better if they were not served cold and one of the sauces tasted like a heaping of horseradish, so beware of the horseradish sauce.... it is extremely strong. We kept hearing people coughing in the restaurant after taking a bite. I ordered the Singapore noodles (which is one of my favorite dishes to try at restaurants). The serving was very large (I think they serve family style servings), but the Singapore noodles were a little too gritty from the seasoning and had a very strong bitter flavor to it, other than that it was okay. It actually tasted better the next day after a I took it home and re-cooked it. My BF didn't mind his dish, which was a chicken and vegetable stir fry (I can't remember the name). I tasted it and it was pretty good and what we would expect from a decent Chinese Restaurant. Sadly though, we were mostly unsatisfied with the food and will not be returning. I hear the owners have another restaurant, and I hear that was is pretty good so we might give that place a try. I'll let my fellow yelpers know how it goes.

Probably the worst Chinese food I've ever had not including New Dragon down the street. The food at both of these restaurants is he exact same and they are both horrible. The fried rice was drenched in soy sauce. The egg rolls were hardly edible. I will never go back to New Dragon or Dragon Palace again. The prices are normal compared to other Chinese places but the quality is definitely on the low end. Id rather drive 15 minutes to the URI campus for Peking Tokyo for normal American Chinese food.

This is my favorite Chinese place around. Super quick service, almost too quick. You start off with these little crispy noodles with a special sauce to munch on before the meal, which I love. Don't eat too many though because they are filling! My go to Chinese dish is always sesame chicken, and this place has some of the best quality around. The chicken isn't coated in batter with barely any chicken like most places. Instead they are big meaty pieces which are super tasty. Sauce is delicious. The chicken fried rice is also a favorite of mine. The portions are huge, and I feel as though the takeout portions are even bigger. Definitely recommend!

Service here is so awful. Third time I've eaten here and every time I am more and more turned off. It's too bad because the food is good. Never again will I dine in!!!

This place has the best food around and the staff are very pleasant. My husband and I love their wonton soup, better than any other. Why would you need valet parking in Wakefield? Please be realistic. This place is very good.

I like this place. The sushi is good, not top notch quality but it is fresh tasting and they have a nice variety of rolls as well as Maki, Nigiri and Sushimi types of Sushi. They also have different serving sizes: a la carte, platters and sushi boats. The Chinese food is alright, nothing to get excited about but good portion sizes and solid Chinese American style, not like Shanghai Restaurant good but good for Wakefield. I've been here a few times but yesterday I got the Sushi & Sashimi Combo Dragon Platter with the seaweed salad side and it cured my itch for sushi. The seaweed salad was delicately marinated in that rice vinegar dressing that covers the seaweed and sesame seeds and was delicious. There was a Beautiful Roll, (tuna, avocado, cucumber and masago,) a "My Favor" Roll, (shrimp, kani, cream cheese, I actually think it's misspelled on the menu and is suppose to be the "My Favorite Roll" which it wasn't,) 6 pieces sushi (nigiri with tuna, salmon, and white fish on top of the rice,) and 8 pieces of sashimi (tuna, salmon, white fish and yellow tail,) curled together in a rosette style on different corners of the plate. I didn't get enough pickled ginger and the wasabi was kind of lame but it didn't spoil my dinner. My friend got an American Dream Roll: shrimp tempura, avocado and masago (spelling please? Is it massago or masago? The menu is rife with mistakes.) Her SO got a modified King Scorpion Roll: tempura soft shelled crab, avocado and something else, I was not sure, I don't see what he got on the menu. I didn't try it but I am not a fan of soft shelled crab. I will add to this later.

I don't like writing this kind of review but have to. I've been eating American-Chinese food for 60 years and in many states and in Europe. Today we ate here. It is pretty crummy Chinese food. Poor preparation, poor taste, lack of freshness. Worst fried rice I've been presented with in quite a while. Egg roll was tough as leather. Service was slow too and training of the wait staff is needed. Seems like the waitress' heart was elsewhere. We heard this is a branch of the Dragon Palace out in Hope Valley. It was quite a bit better - although not great either. I cannot recommend dining here if your expectations and tastebuds are demanding.

I love Chinese food! The egg rolls are on point, but the fried rice is a little too brown for my liking. The sushi is fresh, delicious, perfect, and awesome. I'd recommend dining at this fine establishment. I truly believe everyone should have a mojito here and enjoy some Asian culture in south Kingstown.

I am in love with this place!!!!! Such good food, drinks & the sushi selection is OUTSTANDING! I live so, so close to this establishment & I have to say that I get take out from here pretty often. I always enjoy it & the service has always been great. I know Mark from the last place he worked & he always makes it a point to say hello. Totally worth it!

great for college kids and alike. as soon as you walk in someone greets you to make you feel welcomed and the i think the guy was the bartender/manager remembered me and my boyfriend. staff is friendly and food is always consistent and delicious. i like that they try to accommodate people with food allergies and or special diets. also super clean, Chinese places are notorious for being dirty so its nice to walk in and not expect it to be clean.

Having gone to school at URI, New Dragon is my go to Chinese place. I had recently heard that one of the owners of New Dragon went rogue and opened up a new place down the street called Dragon Palace. I decided to try it and have mixed feelings. We walked in on a Friday night and it was jam packed! The parking lot is small, but they claim they have valet parking. I think they are referring to the guy outside who did not even look at us when we pulled up. We found a spot on our own. We were told that there was a 20 minute wait for a table, so we put our name in. A woman working at the sushi station told us to check the bar, where we found a table right away. We ordered drinks and food, both of which were pretty good! The scallion pancakes were tasty, as was the tempura shrimp and chicken fingers. The only downside was that our waitress could not remember to bring us drinks when we ordered additional rounds. It seems like they have enough staff, but our waitress seemed to have way more to do then she could handle. As we were finishing our meal, about 40 minutes later, a young lady came up through the bar calling our name. I told her we had found a table in the bar. She proceeded to scold me about not telling her that we had found a table. Not to be snarky, but really? That is terrible customer service. Not to mention if we had waited for a table, our 20 minute wait would have been a joke. Combined with the so-so waitress, and I think I will be sticking with New Dragon!

Dragon Palace Restaurant in Wakefield, RI is awesome. The kitchen is clean, the food is delicious. Try the PWCD, it's sushi, mouth watering, absolutely delish. If you go there on weekends, ask for Suzy, a delightful waitress.

We had dinner here with a party of 8 and it was just OK. Not great and not terrible either. Two of our party ordered sushi and it did not arrive to the table until everyone else had been served and finished their meals. The server said they had a new sushi guy and he was slow. The quality of the food was fair, egg rolls were like leather, but the dumplings were very good. Overall I feel there are better options for Chinese American food in the South County area.

Great place for take-out! Very quick, good prices, and good food. Portions are average for Chinese food. If you live in the wakefield area, this is definitely the place for take-out. As a bonus, they do have a very nice bar area for eating in, as well as fresh sushi.

First let me say that we had a wonderful waitress. She was very attentive and gave us things before we even thought to ask for them. The drinks were a great deal. You can get a rum based, tropical drink for 5 or 6 dollars. The food was pretty good but I have had better sushi and chinese foods at other restaurants in Rhode Island. We had the Boston roll, Tempera Scallop (which I've never seen on a menu before), Vegetable Lo Mein, and Shrimp Shumai. The shumai was pretty good. The Lo Mein became cold very fast. The sushi stayed together but wasn't as flavorful as I am used to. Overall it was a fair restaurant with nice decor but I would love for it to kick up its' food a notch!

For New Year's Eve, you'd expect crappy food and slow service...not the case. Food was good, service wasn't great but she was there. I'd go back again for lunch or dinner. Not sure what the earlier posts had ordered for takeout, food was better than most townie Chinese food.

Don't chance this one. We are 'Asian Food Lovers". If you are too, don't go here. This was bad, I mean can't eat it, bad. The egg rolls were bland. The Orange Chicken was mostly batter, the rice was salty and dry. The Sesame Chicken was dry, over-battered and covered in sesame seeds, I mean covered. We ate a VERY small amount and did not take any home. I am really stunned at how bad this was. Don't trust the reviews that say anything good, they must come from the owners or employee's. Sorry guys, your food is of very poor quality and tastes like frozen "microwave" Chinese food. Might explain why it was out so fast. Oh, we heard others around us saying the same thing.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
